The Republican Establishment Speaks
Rand Paul proposes a Tea Party Caucus in the Senate; Trent Lott reacts in the Washington Post:
Former Senate majority leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.), now a D.C. lobbyist, warned that a robust bloc of rabble-rousers spells further Senate dysfunction. "We don't need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples," Lott said in an interview. "As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them."

If Trent Lott opposes it, it's probably a good thing.
Absolutely right Corduroy.
Trent Lott's tombstone:
Born a fuckwad, died a fuckwad
John,
You are just turning into teacher's little pet here, what with all the hat tips and all.
John is the new Vannamen.
You really know how to hurt a guy don't you?
Say John, shouldn't you be at home working on your next Jason Bourne thriller?
We don't need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples
Of course not; we need statesmen, like Robert Byrd.

"Lott, last seen decrying deceased Sen. Robert Byrd's departure from the KKK in a misguided eulogy..."
Oh wait, that was Strom Thurmond's funeral where he self-immolated. Trent Lott belongs not to the GOP, but the GOBP -- Good 'Ole Boy Party. If only we could kill that party on both the Red & Blue teams, we would make huge strides in reigning in gummint expansion.
Alas, Rand paul may be too busy designing his underground electric fence to keep Mexicans out of the country to follow up on this.
Rand Paul is looking like about as much of a Constitutional scholar as BHO. His brief interest for civil libertarians faded very fast and now it's time for someone to take away his decoder ring even if he is still one of the better bad guys.
Yes stupid one, walk right under the anvil...
Opus: What's a Statesman?
Milo: A dead politician ...
Opus: The world needs more Statesman.
