Obama's DEA Raids Another Medical Pot Dispensary
While the DEA will undoubtedly come up with an excuse that comports with the supposed new policy of not raiding medical marijuana operators who are complying with state law, this morning they (with local police in tow) hit an L.A.-area dispensary, the L.A. Times is reporting.
Jacob Sullum on this week's earlier federal raid on a pot dispensary in a state where medical pot is legal.

This is Bush's fault. I inherrited this pot dispensary raid from Bush.
Somehow I knew you were going to say that!
*Whew*
At least he did not blame me.
Or me!
[I didn't inhale, by the way . . .]
Pot smoke is a major greenhouse gas.
Don't bogart that bowl, you asshole.
Flower Punk, I think I love you.
1st it was tax stamps. Now it's carbon emission permits.
No wonder Vietnam was so warm when you were there.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKK
Pot will make you retarded ehehe
In a way, it is exactly that. There's a spaghetti network that is the federal government, that can't be turned off nor pulled apart.
The government that governs least... is probably smoking weed.
Let's see, the purported violation of state law . . . I'm guessing their signage didn't meet the zoning code? Or maybe somebody put out some cookies and they aren't licensed as a restaurant? Does that sound about right?
Thank god everyone is already a criminal. Makes thing so much easier.
So Obama lied about that one, too - so what else is new?
Obama lied, dogs died. Maybe not this time.
You know what'd be great? If The Onion would run an article headlined "Obama Tells Truth About Something."
This was the one area--the only one left--where it seemed Obama might be an improvement over Bush. He isn't on the war, but maybe he'd lighten up on the raids. But no. He is such an astounding piece of shit, and all I want to do is shove the faces of his lickspittle supporters in it. The one saving grace is that he's so bad that is has to be crushing their souls, even while they defend him.
Their defense of Obama actually costs 2 soul-points per day.
(you CAN right click to cancel the effect though, so, yeah.)
I enjoy going back and reading the DEA-Raids-Another-Medical-Pot-Dispensary threads from a year ago.
I don't want a symbolic affirmation of my feelings. I want this problem solved in a way that works, and that sticks. Speed is good, but it's not the most important thing.
Obviously an entire year wasn't long enough. Obama just needs another year to make these raids stop, right? Maybe two.
To be fair, he's been so busy running the wars just like Bush did, and with all that Obamacare stuff, and winning the Nobel, hell, he just hasnt had time.
Oh, and Coppenhagen.
We don't here so much from "joe from Lowell" anymore. You'd think he'd be here applauding all the troops Barry's sending to Afghanistan or all the aid and succor he's given to the banks.
Seriously, joe from Lowell is retarded. Did he think that they'd replace everyone in DEA from before the Obama administration?
Barry's a fraud, a charlatan, a tyrant, less able to govern this country than my last (weak) bowel movement.
They will probably have to make a case that this was part of an illegal marijuana trade going on in non-decriminalized states.
Commerce Clause to the rescue!
Hey, where are Tony, Choad, and any other Obama fans to try to rationalize his hypocrisy?

Caught up in teh raid, hee-hee!
Just a minute I gotta get Chads cock outta my ass.
But not until after Tony pulls Chad's bong out of Tony's ass.
errr, i got the actors in that all mixed up.
The important parts are the asses, cocks, and bongs.
"We're from the government, and we're here to help you. GET ON THE GROUND, MOTHERFUCKER!"
Santa Barbara's gotten in the act
And this will be reason enough for a budget increase, right?
And is anyone else in awe of the poll stating that 80% of the entire population that has ever walked the earth is appalled at the SCOTUS Citizen's United Decision? (Not meaning to threadjack.)
Does anyone else have fantasies of meeting a ridiculously drunk DEA agent in a dark alley with none of his friends (i.e. JBTs or Jack Booted Thugs) around? Or is that just me?
And this will be reason enough for a budget increase, right?
The One got a huge budget increase without even bringing this up.
when will a state grow a pair and tell the feds to but out of thier buisness. PLUS it was a malfesence of office for the local cops to take part in the raid, since it is legal under Cali Law and local cops MUST follow the local laws, they ARE NOT the FEDS help! This disgusts me to no end. Its politicians screwing the local buisnessman plain and simple in the name of the Children or whatever other freedom they want to destroy. May the raiders contact veneral diseases and their privates fall off!!!!
I am actually a bit surprised that no state has told the feds to go fuck themselves, but I suppose it's a combination of being afraid of losing federal money (especially now) and a sort of "we're all ruling class, so let's get along" chumminess.
If South Carolina had a Med MJ law...
You have no idea how funny this is...
Up here in WA we're trying. I'm not sure if they've talked about I-1068 here yet, but they're gathering signatures to put an initiative on the ballot in November to completely decriminalize Mary Jane. This kind of change will have to come from the people, and I'm proud of my state for getting the ball rolling.
Were flashbangs deployed?
Mortars?
The Drug War is Police Socialism, plain and simple.
Was going to post this in the Stossel education thread but, after a quick perusal its lameness was apparent. The Weed Thread is cool though so, umm yeah, The 'Stache is about to rip it up 8p Fox business.
On topic... These raids can't be good for the administration. Either Obama lied and never meant what he said regarding despensaries, or he is weak and can't even rein in his own dea.
capitol l: It's not either-or. Obama is a serial liar, a spineless sack of shit, and a produce of his own dick-stroking sense of entitlement.
Worst.
President.
Ever.
Fucking three more years of this? THREE?????????
Unless he can be impeached and removed from office. He, like almost all presidents before him, has violated his oath of office. He could be removed for this. If the next congress has a spine they might.
President Biden ?!
While I'm sure that Biden's intentions are as bad if not worse than Hopey McChange's agenda, if he were president he would have a lot less leverage over his former colleagues in the congress. They all know they can safely tell Talky Joe to go pound sand.

Dear god no. At least, not if Pelosi is still Speaker of the House by then...
Nice how executive strong-arming is only in short supply when DEA fuckers are having a good time.
+1. Funny, that.
is anyone actually surprised by this? I mean like seriously.

The bot makes a disturbingly good point.
You guys are retarded.
We know it's you, Rahm.
You guys are retarded.
leave Obama alone!
The government has engaged in entrapment.
"We're going to be restrained, sensible and decent about medical marijuana," sez the Prez.
So the providers come into the open, and...wham!
A jury might accept an entrapment defense--I would--, so I look for non-drug offenses to be included in the indictments.
********
Note to Obama: you can confiscate a lot of money by pulling the same trick with delinquent taxes.
I'm starting to think that Obama is deliberately sabotaging his own presidency. Nothing damages a leader's credibility more than for him to declare he's making a high-profile change to official policy and to then continue to enforce the old policy. It makes him look like he's a liar, a weakling (because he's unable to make his underlings follow the new policy), or both. And Obama keeps doing this, over and over.
I think Obama genuinely believes that press releases are governance. Look at his background - when has success for him ever been measured by anything other than favorable press notices?
I guess the idiots were handing out flyers at a local school. That'll get you pinched. Bravo!
Looks like the DEA hit the wrong place.
In order to properly understand this situation, you have to realize that none of these pot dispensaries is legal under California state law.
The law says that a patient or his caregiver may provide medical pot if there is a letter of recommendation from a doctor. It does not allow large scale dispensaries or payment for pot beyond the actual costs of growing it.
There are many persuasive arguments on why America should legalize medical marijuana, and the reasons are sound. However, even though many millions of Americans smoke a glass pipe or hit a bong it has not translated into real political pressure on the people who can change the laws. The last three presidents were admitted pot users and the same is probably true of the first three presidents as well. In the end it is up to us to be public about our choices and to collectively voice our opinions.
