Papa Don't Preach, I'm in Trouble, Deep
Gee, this is going to be good for Libertarian publicity. Frank Powers Jr, whose dad is a Republican candidate for Congress, is hoisting the Libertarian banner to… well, basically, to screw with his lead.
"I'm not going to say that my dad treated me bad when I was a kid," the younger Powers told the paper. "I know his policies. I'm running against someone I know." Powers added that he may run for the Anarchist party line if he fails to secure the Libertarian party's nomination.
Frank Powers, in a statement released by his campaign, said that he has "tried very hard for many years to help my son."
This naturally leads one to asking: What's up with Stan Jones, the man who turned himself blue by drinking collodial silver and then ran for office three times on the LP ticket in Montana? Of course: He's running again.

Purge. Purge!
We need some sort of Libertarian Gestapo…
Stan Jones isn’t blue anymore? What the hell is the point of Stan Jones if he isn’t blue?
We need some sort of Libertarian Gestapo…
Our very own Night of the Long Knives? We can finally rid ourselves of those who only agree with us 98%!
Godwins! Oxymorons! Purity! Drink!
I would reject his nomination based solely on his hair.
His hair is going to run for the seat on the Natural Law Party ticket.
It’s already got the levitation thing down.
Now, if the Libertarians could just get a candidate who was blue and had wacky hair, there would be no stopping them.
That’s not hair. It’s a space station.
Godwins! Oxymorons! Purity! Drink!
For some ineffable reason, this caused me to choke on my beverage.
Wow, Don Henley has really let himself go.
How about her, Kyle?
What’s wrong with his hair?
Powers added that he may run for the Anarchist party line if he fails to secure the Libertarian party’s nomination.
It’s good to see that the Anarchists are finally getting organized.
Wait.. what?
Episiarch,
Unless her hair (of which she has none) had a personality of it’s own, I can’t vote for her. I have standards to uphold here people.
Do not lose all hope: Clint Eastwood has declared himself a liberatarian.

What’s wrong with his hair?
That’s what I want to know.
One might think “unkempt pompadour” is also a contradiction in terms. Apparently not.
“Unfortunately, he’s rejected everyone’s help to live a healthy lifestyle. Regardless of whether he wants to run for Congress, I still stand ready to help him move his life in a positive direction.”
The elder Powers did not comment beyond the statement, but a Republican source said that Powers was referring to his son’s “carefree” lifestyle in the music business.
Music business eh? I think it’s a safe bet his “lifestyle” is founded on sex, drugs, and, rock and roll. Sounds pretty Libertarian to me.
Unless her hair (of which she has none) had a personality of it’s own, I can’t vote for her. I have standards to uphold here people.
Well, she is literally a plant, so she could probably grow some crazy hair. However, she did have hair here.
Now THAT’S the Libertarian Party I know and love. Business in the front (Harry Browne, Bob Barr) party in the back (everybody else).
More evidence that we had it back-asswards in 2004 with Badnarik.
Lee is a great director, and his willingness to see racial politics in almost everything helps make him a great director
Sorry, Art, but Lee is massively overrated. His racism detracts from his direction rather than helps it. What has saved him is that he does have a good sense of who to cast.
Do the Right Thing was a great film. I don’t know about the rest of Lee’s work.
Is Dondero supporting him?

Win…
Hey if we we’re really feeling lucky why don’t we run Clint as our ’08 presidential candidate…
Well do ya punk?
There’s such a thing as an Anarchist Party?
Isn’t that some kind of contradiction?
I thought of joining the anarchist party, but decided not to. Libertarianism is better than no government at all.
What does his brother Austin think about this?
Seriously, thank god there’s a place for the oddballs in American politics, and I say that as at least a minor-league oddball.
Well, other than “Do the Right Thing”, I thought “Summer of Sam” and “Malcolm X” were terrific.
“She Hate Me” was just weird. Not great by any stretch, but I like odd movies. “Inside Man” was nothing special.
I want to see “Lobster Girl” get into an LP race.
Fry: “Now here’s a party I can get excited about. Sign me up!”
Apathy Party Guy: “Sorry, not with that attitude.”
Fry: “Ok, then screw it.”
Apathy Party Guy: “Welcome aboard, brother!”
Fry: “Alright!”
Apathy Party Guy: “You’re out.”
Eastwood/Russell in 2008. Lovers of liberty, but really scary to our enemies, too.
Holy crap! I didn’t know that was her. Neat.
Did you know that the director of the Mad Max films, George Miller, also directed the Babe movies (the little pig), Lorenzo’s Oil, and The Witches of Eastwick?
I know it’s a blog post, not a full-on article, but including info about where Mr. Powers, Jr. is running would be appreciated.
What’s wrong with his hair?
Shouldn’t he be on Top Chef?
Hey, come on – the younger man has a record label called “Penny For The Guy Records”.
I’d vote for him.
TV’s Frank is running for office?
Awesome!
My uncle is in the Witches of Eastwick. He had a scene with Cher.
He says it’s like having a little, tiny oil well. Every quarter, a little, tiny check comes in the mail from residuals.
James Boyle, joe?
That’s cool. My friend was the Production Designer for Street Trash.
A friend of mine was stunt double for one of the bad guys in the new Indiana Jones.

Street Trash? Awesome. Was he at SVA?
robc, your buddy’s worked on a lot of cool movies. I’d be proud to have that sort of track record. Episiarch, it seems like your buddy’s still dort of on the scene, too.
sort*
Well, while I was messing around on IMDB, I found out that there’s supposed to be a Dr. Strange movie directed by Guillermo del Toro with a screenplay written by Neil Gaiman! Sweet! Too bad it won’t be till 2010.
Back on subject, Congress could use more Rockabilly haircuts, whether they realize it or not.
“Frank Powers, in a statement released by his campaign, said that he has “tried very hard for many years to help my son.”
After looking at that fucking hair-do, it’s pretty obvious the help didn’t work. He must go to the same stylist as Nick Gillespie.
