In the process of naming what he hopes will be a one-size-fits-all tool for producing media, Jeff Jarvis uses his Treo 600 for a worthy cause -- documenting a traffic cop ticketing a U.S. Postal Service truck. "One arm of our government tickets another arm of our government to get our money and pay for a lot of bureaucrats in the process," he notes.

Well, you kow, it makes sense that there should be enforcement to keep postal vehichles from parking all kinds of troubling illegal ways, doesn't it? Anyway, the postal service takes in no tax money, so this ain't costing us much(anything?).

When I was driving through Berkeley, I saw a cop pull over a city bus. I was surprised, I had heard that they usually sent the tickets to the drivers' supervisors and had everything cleared up there so as not to disrupt the schedule.

I saw one of those nifty Treos.

Wish I could afford one. I can't right now, but once I get my credit straightened out, I figure I can get a Nokia 3650 for free (with one year contract, of course).

The Nokia is basically the best cell phone with a build in PDA - whereas the Treo is the best PDA with a built in cell phone.

I think it's great. The more time they spend passing money back and forth between government agencies, the less time they'l have to focus on taking it away from the rest of us/
