Today the Cato Institute held a virtual event on "Tariffs, Emergencies, and Presidential Power." Cato Institute Senior Fellow Walter Olson and I discussed Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs attempting to leverage the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977  (IEEPA),  the lawsuit against them brought by the Liberty Justice Center and myself on behalf of five US businesses harmed by the tariffs, nondelegation, the general problem of abuse of emergency powers, and other related issues.  Brent Skorup of Cato (who is also a former student of mine!) moderated, and asked some great questions.
