The Volokh Conspiracy Merch You've Always Wanted
Or perhaps just a few items we thought readers might like.
As Eugene noted last month, The Volokh Conspiracy is twenty years old. Eugene fired things up in April 2002, and additional conspirators (including Juan Non-Volokh) joined soon thereafter.
Given we've been around for twenty years, it seems odd we don't have VC merchandise. So, we're going to experiment with offering some. A few initial offerings (mostly t-shirts and mugs) are available here, with more to come.
Feel free to provide recommendations and ideas for potential items in the comments. This is something of an experiment, and we welcome feedback.

How about a bathroom reader of all of EV's post on anonymity?
A reader's a possibility. This is the closest thing we've ever done to something like that: https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1137363746/reasonmagazinea-20/
How about a bound multi-volume set of Prof. Blackman's CV?
Bobbleheads!
...of some of the regular commenters?
How about a T-shirt with a picture of a kid holding an assault rifle in front of a schoolhouse. Above the picture, "Volokh Conspiracy" and below the picture, "Defending your Right to Bear Arms."
There is no such thing as an assault rifle.
I'd like a tshirt that says:
"I've been banned by the Volokh Conspiracy."
Or:
"Volokh Conspiracy; Still Crazy After All These Years."
Nice idea. I wish you had decided to charge women the same price for their t-shirts as you're charging men. (Yeah, I get that women can order the 'regular' shirts, and that men can order the shirts designated as made for women.) But it's not a good look . . . would it have killed you to raise the price of the regular shirt by one measly dollar and lower the women's shirt by that same dollar, so they'd be the same price?
Not cool.
The men's version of the women's shirt is a dollar more.
NaS,
Is that accurate? As I see it: The Women's Comfort Tee is $25.99. ie, $26 bucks. The "Basic Comfort Tee" is $24.00. There's different writing on these two, of course, but that seems to be the apples-to-apples product comparison.
(I'll note that the men's shirt has writing/logos/art on both sides of the shirt, which is one of the main things justifying a higher price when designing tee-shirts, while the women's tee has artwork on only one side. So, there is some justification for having a women's shirt be *less* expensive. But I'm not buying the justification for charging women more.)
A natural consequence of operating a white, male, right-wing blog.
Plus, one more chance for these clingers to "own the libs" by demonstrating their lack of respect for anything that has occurred during the most recent half-century of American progress.
"But it's not a good look "
Has it occurred to you that the manufacturer charges more? I don't think Prof. Adler silk-screened them himself.
Women's shirts are cut differently and hence harder to make. So are nearly always more expensive. Its not actually a conspiracy.
If they add facial recognition, they can hold a Young Republican bake sale. That one never gets old!
I am waiting for the 122 part treatise by Josh Blackman on the greatness that is Josh Blackman
Why not a mosaic shirt, with 122 different portraits of Blackman? An extreme long-shot investment, I concede, but imagine the legal memorabilia profit in store if Blackman gets promoted to anything at all.
I think we should create some NFTs for this to capitalize on current scarcity, before future demand overwhelms the market. BlackmanNFTs.com is even available!
No need to wait. This guy has a <a href=140-page resume.
Yet still mired at South Texas College Of Law Houston. Perhaps better law school hiring committees read resumes rather than weigh them?
(Before you conclude I am kidding or lying, wait for that thing to load. It can take a while.)
The Resume.
Hey . . . a chance for another great tune!
Not a big fan of Rik Rolling, but if we can link great music videos here's on of onother Robertson tune

That’s the song I featured at 1:59. It is a great one.
Yes it is, but I particularly like the Playing for Change version. Not only because of the musicality of the performances but because of the artistry of the production. Not only is it a great interpretation of a great song, it's damn fun to watch.
Here's another T-shirt for you. On the front of the shirt is a cartoonish picture of a law school classroom. At the head of the class is Eugene, holding a case law book. You can also see students sitting in their seats, but they're all white. You also see the classroom door, and there are several black students leaving the class. There is a speech bubble coming from Eugene, and inside it is the N word (the actual word).
Above the picture, it says "Eugene Volokh" and below the picture it says "Defending your right to say the N word (again, you include the actual word).
Well, if that's the merch you really want ... to each his own, I suppose.
"Above the picture, it says "Eugene Volokh" and below the picture it says "Defending your right to say the N word (again, you include the actual word)."
Hey, are you sure that's fair?
This blog publishes that vile racial slur no more than monthly.
Well, actually it is roughly every three weeks.
OK, that one leaves a mark.
I used to play board wargames, the kind with hundreds or thousands of little cardboard squares. One game maker offered a merchandise tie-in to its World War 2 game: shirts with game art and a picture of one of the leaders of the several countries represented by players: Germany, Italy, Japan, USA, UK (Commonwealth). One player in my group bought the FDR shirt. I ran into the game makers at a con and they told me people did buy shirts with a picture of Hitler. Who are those people? I couldn't imagine wearing such a shirt in public here, and it might well be illegal in parts of Europe.
Nice.
Caption:
"The Volokh Conspiracy: the truth is in here"
Great idea. Maybe Truth Social can underwrite the shirts in exchange for a logo placement.
How about a white t-shirt with a gray rectangle on the chest. Inside the rectangle are the words (the last 4 words underlined):

IMO there's only one mandatory catchword for VC merchandise.
I have no opinion about which side should be which. ISTM either way would work.
For toddlers who don't remember the thread that spawned this, click here.
I screwed up. Of course Fraud!!! should be all caps. It may not be how Mick wrote it, but it's how it's been memorialized in VC lore.
1. You remember fondly better days on the old VC.
2. You buy the merchandise with the VC label.
3. It hangs around, while the VC brand continues to deteriorate.
4. You ditch the merchandise to avoid embarrassment.
Where is the life size cardboard cutout of EV?
