A law professor runs for attorney general in Missouri

It is not all that often that a law professor seeks to become a state's attorney general, but Josh Hawley might not be the typical law professor. Among other things, Hawley is a conservative Republican. A former clerk for Chief Justice John Roberts on the Supreme Court and then-Judge Michael McConnell on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, Professor Hawley helped represent Hobby Lobby in its challenge to the federal contraception mandate and filed a brief supporting the petitioners in King v. Burwell. Now Hawley is seeking the Republican nomination in the race for Missouri attorney general. His opponent in the primary is state Sen. Kurt Schaefer.
