"Congress, you really oughta listen up… tea party conservatives, listen up!" yelled Rick Santelli live on CNBC Business News, "70% oppose raising the debt ceiling."
Santelli is talking about the September 2013 Reason-Rupe Poll that shows Americans overwhelmingly disapprove of the job Congress is doing. The 22 percent who do approve of Congress's job performance in general are still critical of their legislative abilities--44 percent say Congress passes too many laws and half, fifty one percent, think they pass the wrong type.
