How To Talk to People Who Think You're Evil and/or Insane: Podcast
A special all-female edition of the Reason Podcast
You know what's really difficult? Communicating an unpopular message to people who disagree with you. Today's Reason Podcast digs into the nitty gritty of persuading people to think differently about crime and punishment or to talk calmly about gender and genetics; if there's a theme, it's how to find common ground in a conversation where your interlocutor thinks you're evil and/or insane.
Perhaps not coincidentally, this podcast is also 100 percent women. And it features four—count 'em, four!—ladies. I was joined on the stage by Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist, a fellow at the Kinsey Institute, an adviser to Match.com, and the author of several books about gender and the way our brains work; Lyn Ulbricht, an activist and the mother of Ross Ulbricht, who is serving life in prison for his role in running the Silk Road website; and Heidi Bogohsian, the executive director of the A.J. Muste Memorial Institute and a co-host of Law and Disorder, a great radio show and podcast about criminal justice.
Tune in to hear Bogohsian on whether getting arrested repeatedly for activism is a good retirement plan, Fisher on ways to become "an effective human being," and Ulbricht on the power of presenting as "normal."
The estrogen-packed panel was recorded at Reason's donor weekend in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Cute.
Did we count?! It's possible to lack a uterus or have two and still identify as a woman. Maybe 0-for-8 testicles would've been safer/more appropriate?
I'm making over $7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life.

Wouldn't it be quadruple uterus, unless there are multiple sets of four uteri?
Based on number agreement, which I learned today from Tony, you're right. It's quadruple uterus or maybe quattuor/four uteri if we want to be particular about Latin endings on English words, and as pedantic libertarians, we should be.
Truly it is pedantry that separates us from the political world at large.
I miss Heaton. Also, has the Reason podcast been missing a few weeks?

Come on Reason writers. You can't let this story pass without at least some notice. The stupid HBO movie, Paterno, starring Al Pacino, just came out. Newsweek just chickened out on the biggest crime story of the millennium. This story was by John Ziegler and Ralph Cipriano, both serious journalists. The whole story is hiding in plain site at Ziegler's site:

I know, it looks like a conspiracy site, but look at some of the links, podcasts, videos. Reason likes to talk about new types of media. There's never been anything like this! This is a, I don't know, ... a multimedia reality miniseries. It's still happening in real time. You can go on Twitter and participate! I challenge you to find anything on cable like this. Here's the spiked Newsweek piece:

Hey, Reason commenters. Don't let this story pass your favorite magazine by. Here's your chance to make a big splash again. All memories of the last time you've done anything like this have long gone down the wood chipper.
Former Reason writer, Cathy Young has noticed it. This site's not letting me post any more long links, but you can google cathy young John Ziegler sandusky.
If you want to post more links, but it in a hyperlink or break up the text with spaces in it.
Or just remove the s in https
But he might be referring to the limit on how many links you can place in a single comment.
Here's something else Ziegler's done. He dated Kim Goldman, sister of OJ Simpson victim, Ron Goldman. When he found that OJ was going to sports memoribilia show near where he lived, he went and told the promoter "over my dead body!" He invited him on his radio show and bet him a grand it wouldn't happen. Then he went and physically stopped it. He describes it here:

You can remove the spaces in the middle of the links to get to the podcasts.

Thank you. That works.
There's even a nice Reason hook. When Tim Cavenaugh first wrote about this for Reason, he said:

I'll just leave this here....

If I take the advice of this podcast, will I finally get laid?
It's pretty likely you will.
I started listening to it on the subway home and have already gotten laid! It's got my mojo working, to quote some old blues lyric.
.. so you had a completely typical evening commute?
Drop 100 lbs and finally admit the comb-over isn't working and get shaved. Then you will have a chance. And listen to the advice on the podcast.
Great podcast KMW
but your Rhoemites think I am insane. How do I talk to you?

It only makes sense How To Talk to People Who Think You're Evil and/or Insane is for women.
Amen.
Ooh, goody...just what society really needs! A gynocentric perspective on what has become an obviously gynocentric, misandrist culture! Yay!
Is this a libertarian or a Democrat publication?
Women get so furious when men (and some sensible women) call them "insane" and dare to think that their relentlessly misandrist message is "evil". Well, here's a weird thought: stop acting and talking as if you're "insane" and "evil".
This begins with understanding that women are not more vulnerable, more virtuous, or more credible than men. (They're not more intuitive, either.)
gynocentric? lol go back to your drum circle and bitch about it dude, no one here is buying it. Women are still underrepresented just about in all professions. I don't agree with mainstream solutions to it and feel a libertarian attitude towards equality through merit is the way to go, but too many men don't buy into that, even though they claim to be egalitarian and libertarian both.
Women are not underrepresented in 'almost all professions.' They're over represented in nursing, teaching, veterinarians, and many others, and I'm guessing you aren't demanding 'solutions' to that.
People having a given type of genitals being over or underrepresented in any job or field is not a problem to be solved nor proof of discrimination. Let people make their own choices, and if some make different choices from others, whether the reason is biological, cultural, or whatever, it's not some problem for you or 'society' to solve.
Where's the transcript?
A transcript would be useful. I read far quicker than people can talk.
Well, this was boring af. Two of these women appear to be complete nut jobs. Could not listen to the whole thing.
Lynn Ulbricht does have a lot of poise for someone whose kid is in jail for life. Truly remarkable. Doubt I could be that composed if it was me.
My Buddy's mom makes $77 hourly on the computer . She has been laid off for five months but last month her check was $18713 just working on the computer for a few hours. try this web-site

They were joking but after listening to about 20 minutes I decided that two of the panelists were waaaaayyyy out there and turned it off.
