Republican House Speaker John Boehner is floating a six-week extension of the federal debt limit. It's not clear if the proposal will go anywhere.

  • Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sentenced to 28 years in prison today for corruption.
  • Four U.S. whistleblowers have met with Edward Snowden in Russia, the first American non-family members to do so. They say he's settled in nicely and has no regrets.
  • A prosecutor argues that an undercover New York cop helped terrorize a family in an SUV in a well-publicized violent confrontation with bikers. His attorney claims video will ultimately exonerate him from any accusations of involvement.
  • Because of the way Ohio's law is written, a man who was legally declared dead in 1994 after disappearing in 1986 cannot have the declaration retracted, even though it turned out he's not actually dead. We knew the undead would come for us eventually.
  • More than 70 percent of Americans who tried to sign up for health insurance through Affordable Care Act exchanges had problems attempting to do so.
