In a press conference called amidst multiple scandals, including Benghazi, surveillance of the Associated Press and inappropriate IRS scrutiny of government critics, White House press secretary Jay Carney denied the president knew of the IRS's activities until very recently, and insisted any action would have to await a formal report.
