German Unemployment Now Lower Than Before the Financial Crisis
The U.S. and the rest of the European Union can't say the same
Unemployment in Germany is now lower than it was before the financial crisis began — something that is not true of the United States or any other country in the European Union. Germany's unemployment rate for adults is not far below the similar rates in the United States and Britain, but youth unemployment rates are far higher in those countries. The charts show how unemployment rates have changed from December 2007, when the United States recession began, through the most recent data available.
