Pirate Bay Escapes the Law in the Cloud

The Pirate Bay is heading for the cloud — and hoping to avoid law enforcement in the process.

Its move, announced on Wednesday, is the latest of the infamous file-sharing site's efforts to stay at least one step ahead of police action.

The infrastructure change may improve uptime for the site's millions of users, but it also lets the site rely less on physical hardware that authorities could target and seize in a bust.
