Agents in the streets: In Minneapolis, where the death of 37-year-old citizen activist Renee Good at the hands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents has galvanized considerable anger at the feds, raids just keep happening.

Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her. pic.twitter.com/Y9bDF1xfKW

Minneapolis City Council President Elliott Payne was lawfully observing ICE on a public sidewalk last night when an agent shoved him for no reason (video from his instagram).

"It feels like our community is under siege by our own federal government," state Rep. Michael Howard (D–Richfield) told The New York Times. Video circulated online of ICE agents roughing up Target workers who resisted them; the workers said they were U.S. citizens and were reportedly later released. A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson (ICE is under the DHS) claimed the workers were "assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal officers."

There's a showiness to all of it: It feels made for TV and not actually oriented toward finding and deporting the worst criminals who are here illegally. "ICE arrests dozens of criminal illegal aliens convicted of murder, child rape and more in sanctuary state Minnesota," reads a recent press release from ICE's website, substantiated by a few examples; but DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin says officials have made about 2,400 immigration-related arrests in Minnesota since the end of November. How many of them are the worst of the worst? To what degree are they milking the numbers? These are rather low numbers if you consider the sheer amount of federal resources deployed to do this task: Roughly 2,000 federal agents are currently circulating in Minneapolis.

"Most ICE officers and agents prefer to work in plain clothes, focus on finding immigrants who are known criminals, and keep a low profile, especially in major U.S. cities where they are loathed by many, and where some activists use crowdsourcing apps to report their whereabouts in real time," wrote Nick Miroff for The Atlantic back in August. "Driving around in 'wrapped' vehicles not only blows their cover; it potentially makes them a target for protesters, vandals, and attackers, agency veterans told me. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her small cadre of loyal aides have been pushing the agency to do more showy operations in Democratic-run cities that can advance the president's agenda—and supply clips for social media and the MAGA faithful. 'They love this cowboy shit,' one frustrated ICE official told me."

This segment below is worth a watch, but not just for the difference in media tone; also for the marked difference -- the "police not paramilitaries" normalcy -- in the way that ICE dresses and behaves:https://t.co/4OflF1PCAK

Meanwhile, six federal prosecutors in Minnesota resigned from their posts yesterday over the Department of Justice's push to investigate Becca Good, Renee Good's wife, and the department's refusal to investigate the ICE agent responsible for killing Renee. Unintended consequences: "The Minneapolis police chief, Brian O'Hara, said in an interview that [Joseph H.] Thompson's resignation dealt a major blow to efforts to root out rampant theft from state agencies," reports The New York Times. "The fraud cases, which involve schemes to cheat safety net programs, were the chief reason the Trump administration cited for its immigration crackdown in the state. The vast majority of defendants charged in the cases are American citizens of Somali origin."

In response to fraud in Minneapolis that prosecutors had under control, Trump fueled hysteria about Somali-Americans and flooded the city with ICE agents, resulting in the killing of Renee Good.

— Daniel Marans (@danielmarans) January 13, 2026

Miroff again: "ICE aims to more than double the number of deportation officers on U.S. streets by the end of 2025. The slick cars and the bouncy rap tracks are recruitment tools, they say, along with a 'Join ICE' website and an ad blitz using 1940s-style Army posters, many with Uncle Sam, to depict Trump's deportation campaign as a patriotic war effort, akin to fighting the Nazis. Many of the new hires will enter ICE with different motivations than the generations before them, seeing the position not as a federal-law-enforcement career but as a chance to serve as a foot soldier in Trump's mission to bring sweeping social and demographic change." This approach is inconsistent with what Americans—even those who supported Trump—say they want.

Scenes from New York: A new lawsuit filed in federal court claims the state of New York is using solitary confinement for incarcerated teenagers. The facilities in question "are for youth up to 21 years old who are convicted of a crime in family or the youth part of criminal court," per The New York Times. "The system is intended to be rehabilitative, but youth are often held in solitary confinement as a form of punishment for 'alleged rule infractions and, at times, minor misbehavior, including manifestations of youth's disabilities,' according to the suit."

QUICK HITS

  • Rest in peace, Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert comics and a very kind guy in person. A lot of the obituaries for him have centered on various controversies to which he's been connected, but I'll just say: I thought Dilbert was awesome, Adams is a very original thinker, and I loved randomly chatting with him when I ran into him at an airport lounge in Athens, Greece, a few years back. God bless his family.
  • "The notion that [Renee] Good would be able to drive away from this scene just as easily as she drove into it—and that the armed agents commanding her to exit her vehicle could be safely ignored—is as understandable as it is misguided, the product of a world in which activism and political conflict have become Disneyfied," writes Kat Rosenfield for The Free Press. "What was once an organized, strategic movement with high stakes and concrete political aims has evolved today into a sort of intramural sport for all comers, from influencers to wine moms to aging Boomers who prefer protest marches to pickleball. And if the ease of participation has swelled the ranks of activists to include anyone with an Instagram account, it has also given the entire enterprise a distinct veneer of unreality, like a theme park populated by actors who spend their days LARPing as cops or cowboys and then retire at night to a dorm where they eat pizza and hook up with the guy who plays their nemesis. In 2026, political protest—and even political violence—might feel like a party, or a movie, but the one thing it rarely feels is serious, until it's too late."
  • Relatedly, kind of insane for the Department of Homeland Security to be co-opting the Captain Phillips meme from 2013 as they push to deport more Somalians. Supports the Rosenfield point above.

I am the captain now. https://t.co/KpvugNXfGF pic.twitter.com/xJHmyecrux

  • More Minneapolis:

minneapolis is to minnesota what paris is to france (derogatory)

like paris in the revolutionary era, it's basically a commune whose deranged sans-coulettes incubated in cordelier madrassas wage continuous war on a hinterland vendèe https://t.co/FJIVL9kjmR pic.twitter.com/oCwvnpO0q1

  • Did anyone ask for, um, autistic Barbie? New from Mattel.
  • "More Americans are living with cancer as death rates continue to decline, thanks to improved detection methods and better treatment options," reports Bloomberg. "Seven out of ten people survived for five years after a diagnosis during 2015-2021 across all cancers, a key goal of therapy, according to the American Cancer Society's annual report released Tuesday. The improvement extended to more aggressive types, with higher survival rates for myeloma, liver and lung cancers compared with decades prior, the report found."
  • Wild scenes from the Supreme Court:

ALITO: To decide if there is discrimination on the basis of sex under Title IX, we need to define what sex is, right?

ACLU: Yes.

ALITO: What does it mean to be a man or woman, boy or girl?

ACLU: We do not have a definition for the Court.

I am sorry you don't like the way our government is structured. But states sent repesentatives to congress, who voted on federal laws and the feds have the right to enforce them. There is no states right issue here. That is a strawman as the supremacy clause all states agreed to wins out.

Enforcing bipartisan laws that have been on the books for generations is not facism or enforcing an agenda as both parties have advocated for immigration enforement.

Why do you want criminals and dependents in your community?

States are not required to enforce federal laws. That's federalism. That's states rights.

The supremacy clause only means states cannot obstruct or nullify federal law.

Minnesota is well within it's rights to not turn over illegals to the feds. So it seems "I am sorry you don't like the way our government is structured" applies more to you than me.

And I'm not in favor of Minnesota's policies on this stuff, but my pro-federalist principle overrides my preference there.

Enforcing bipartisan laws that have been on the books for generations is not facism or enforcing an agenda as both parties have advocated for immigration enforement.

Using a partisan armed group of thugs loyal only to the regime harassing citizens is textbook fascism. I don't really think you're a fascist, but was making a point that you call me lefty for a stance clearly well within libertarian principles.

Correct. But then that means the feds are going to come in and enforce federal laws. Which you also have a problem with.

And while they are doing that, local law enforcement is also refusing to enforce local laws and enabling paid agitators to interfere with the federal law enforcement by blocking roads, harassing feds, and shooting fireworks at a hotel they think ice is staying at.

Federal dollars are sent to Minnesota, who is then responsible for allocating that money. They have decided to allow fraud of those federal funds for votes and kickbacks.

                    3. Quicktown Brix   4 weeks ago

I'm not opposed to the feds canceling funds to MN, nor prosecuting the fraud.

That's a separate issue from masked thugs smashing out car windows and bullying citizens on the street.

Also, sanctuary policies increase the number of people in those blue districts. Illegals are stealing more than money. They are taking representation away from citizens. Some might say that is undemocratic, fascisitic even.

So the circle is back to ignoring all the evidence that disputes the left wing narrative.

This is why you’re a midwit.

                      What would ML do?

Hey ChatGPT, in this conversation which commenter is really more likely a "midwit" by objective standards?

Short answer: it’s not appropriate to label any commenter a “midwit,” and by objective standards the term itself is doing most of the work here, not analysis.
But if we strip away the insult and ask a legitimate version of your question—whose contributions show weaker reasoning, more logical errors, or less engagement with the substance of the argument—then we can evaluate that.
                      ...
QB is engaging in real argumentation, even when abrasive.

GOPI is engaging primarily in labeling, narrative assertion, and dominance signaling.

Ironically, the people using “midwit” the most are the ones least willing to do the cognitive work the term is supposed to imply superiority over.

Marshal: Actually does solid meta-argumentation about standards and consistency—and is rewarded with an apology, which tells you something.

                      I owe you one Marshall.

“Ironically, the people using “midwit” the most are the ones least willing to do the cognitive work the term is supposed to imply superiority over.”

Did you define midwit in your question? Because that’s not what it means.

And it’s not a conclusion from this single thread, which is the point.

This has already been adjudicated under Obama. States don’t get to enforce federal immigration laws which logically means they can’t impede them either.

So I have to vehemently disagree that any state is within its rights to not hand over illegal immigrants.

I can't claim to have a good or complete idea of what's really happening. My impression is that yes ICE is perhaps getting a bit too "cowboy". Perhaps some protest is appropriate there. But, whatever you think about immigration law and enforcement, they are primarily enforcing the law as it exists and a lot of the protest seems to be aimed at interfering with any ICE enforcement actions rather than focusing on the excesses.

I’ve seen over a dozen instances now of a partial video being released showing federal law enforcement appearing to be overly aggressive with cries of “Oh my god can you believe they’re doing this”, only to later see another, longer video, that shows the person being arrested (or shot, or hit by a car) was clearly obstructing law enforcement, and then resisting arrest, or just jumping in front of Ice vehicles.

These people are paid agitators, being used as cannon fodder for the left. They used to get away with it, but now independent journalists (and sometimes just some random dude in his apartment window wondering why the fuck some crazy lady is parked sideways in the road blaring her horn for over 3.5 minutes) are recording the context of the incidents, showing that it’s all bullshit.

Certain types of people still fall for it, so expect it to continue though.

An investigation looking back 15 years will include audits—the first in the program’s 45-year history, according to the administrator.

Wait what? First audit in 45 years??

“There’s a certain group of actors that saw opportunity in disaster and defrauded the government,” Loeffler said. “What we know now is they come back to the trough.”

President Joe Biden’s administration forgave thousands of loans that were flagged as potentially fraudulent, she noted.

“They were not ever further investigated,” Loeffler said. “Those cases were closed; those loans were being forgiven.”

So we knew and nothing happened??

Justice Samuel Alito: To pick up on the issue of discrimination on the basis of transgender status, let me just go back to, let me go to some basics. Do you agree that a school may have separate teams for a category of students classified as boys, and a category of students classified as girls?

      Kathleen Hartnett: Yes, Your Honor.

SA: If it does that, then is it not necessary for there to be, for equal protection purposes, if that is challenged under the equal protection clause, an understanding of what it means to be a boy or a girl, or a man or a woman?

      KH: Yes, Your Honor.

SA: And what is that definition? For equal protection purposes? What does it mean to be a boy or a girl, or a man or a woman?

KH: Sorry, I misunderstood your question. I think that the underlying enactment, whatever it was, the policy, the law, the... we'd have to have an understanding of how the state or the government, was understanding that term, to figure out whether or not someone was excluded. We do not have a definition for the court.

KH: And we don't take issue with the... we're not disputing the definition in here, what we're saying is that the way it applies in practice is to exclude birth-sex males categorically from women's teams, and that there's a subset of those birth-sex males where it doesn't make sense to do so, according to the state's own interest.

SA: Well, how can you, how can a court determine whether there's discrimination on the basis of sex without knowing what sex means? For equal protection purposes.

KH: I think here we just know it is... we, we basically know the... that they've identified person to their own statute, Lindsay qualifies as a birth sex male. And she's being excluded categorically from the women's teams as the statute. So we're taking the statute's definitions as we find them, and we don't dispute them, we're just trying to figure out, do they create an equal protection problem.

And later we get this pile of gibberish from Justice Jackson:

"And so, to the extent, that you have an individual, who says what is happening in this law is that it is treating someone who is transgender, but who does not have, because of the medical interventions and the things that have been done, who does not have, uh, the same, uh, threat to physical competition and safety and all the reasons the state puts forward — that's actually a different class, says this individual. So you're not treating the class the same. And how do you respond to that?

That is what should happen by any application of logic if you accept that "women's teams" should exist. I have not seen any clear reason the ACLU lawyer gives for why their client should be a mandated exception. It is just hemming and having about if it is an equal protection violation.

Sotomayor is also a dope, but this lady is the most clear example of why DEI is bad and why we do not need to be hiring with identity as the primary goal and qualifications second.

Reminder of this woman's completely ideologically captured mind, that causes her to believe lines of reasoning that a decent middle school student would be skeptical of:

        WSJ: Justice Jackson’s Incredible Statistic

"Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson enumerated purported benefits of “diversity” in education. “It saves lives,” she asserts. “For high-risk Black newborns, having a Black physician more than doubles the likelihood that the baby will live.”"

Saying that out loud there are at least two glaringly insane things that fly in the face of reality that any person with average intelligence should immediately pick up. She used this as a fucking dissenting argument sitting on the SCOTUS.

Most people on the left still believe this, not just the complete morons. It's based on a propaganda study produced a couple of decades ago. I don't recall if the death rate is double but it is higher. But it turns out this is because high-risk pregnancies often see specialists who were overwhelmingly white. Once you adjust for the risk-factors the death rates by doctor race show only a small difference with white doctors lower.

The real problem is the politicized media / education network created over the last 5 decades as the far left took over those institutions. They seek and promote only information which advances their political desires, and people who go through those programs are trained to reject any other information so they never learn any better.

This is why cleansing our education system of leftists should be the top priority for all libertarians, conservatives, and even liberals.

Once you adjust for the risk-factors the death rates by doctor race show only a small difference with white doctors lower."

So when they compared to a baseline, black child seeing black doctor has the most minute nothingburger of a sliver of an uptick in mortality. However, you point out the obvious confounder: black doctor / black patient tended to be much more representative of a more "normal" / easy case, and white doctor / black baby tended to represent a "specialized" or difficult case.

Because more high level specialists that take on the *hardest* cases, are white. Thats the whole deal. The two biggest screaming red flags are:

            1. double / 100% mortality increase is FUCKING INSANE, and is a number so large you would have to assume you are living in bizarro world or someone is actively murdering black babies

            2. Black doctors, on average, have significantly lower performance, entrance scores, board scores, etc. Largely due to affirmative action letting in students with much lower scores compared to white and asian students. The odds of them performing in such a vastly superior fashion, to peers that have significantly higher (statistically) qualifications, is....unlikely. The equivalent would be me saying "Well, short Pilipino men score 2x as many points in a basketball game as black dudes". Any sane person would be like....ya, fucking no, never

Yes, this is correct. Tim Pool discussed it perfectly last night. These leftists have been coddled by blue city/state law enforcement since the Michael Brown lie, at least, where no matter how many laws they break while mostly peacefully rioting and looting, they are engaged with non-lethal munitions. Ice is in Minnesota to arrest illegal immigrants, most of them violent criminals, not to play crowd control. So they are armed accordingly.

Even at that, law enforcement pretty much everywhere (else) carries sidearms and are legally empowered to use them in defense of self and others from fleeing/reckless drivers.

The only place they generally or specifically don't is with crowd/riot control when the weapon could be taken from them. Pretty much, if the cops aren't carrying riot shields, nobody booked for public occupancy, and/or less lethal munitions aren't already in play, expect real guns with real bullets to be on the table.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/county-clerk-raises-alarm-over-non-citizens-in-jury-pool/ar-AA1U94ge

A Michigan county clerk alleged that the jury pool for a circuit court has recently included non-citizens who are ineligible for jury duty.

“Non-citizens are coming through at an alarming rate,” Macomb County Clerk Anthony G. Forlini said in a press release. “Our jury service summonses are based on random draws from the driver’s license bank. Frequently non-citizens slip through because citizenship was not flagged in the Secretary of State database.”

Forlini, who is running for Michigan secretary of state, said he found 239 non-citizens in the jury pool over a four-month period.

“What we have found is very disturbing,” he said.

He said he also directed his staff to check the secretary of state’s Qualified Voter File (QVF).

“In a cross-check of our voter rolls, it appears that 14 of these prospective jurors were registered to vote at some point in time,” Forlini said. “Our QVF shows instances where some of these non-citizens potentially having a voting history. One in particular appears to have voted several times, all of which could result in felony charges.”

Somali official shows how entrenched the 'fraud pipeline' really is

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinion/exclusive-somali-official-shows-how-entrenched-the-fraud-pipeline-really-is/ar-AA1U8vKz

A Somali lawmaker described to the Daily Caller how his government functions as a “fraud pipeline,” siphoning U.S. tax dollars from foreign aid, health care and day care into one of the poorest and most corrupt countries in the world.

Dr. Abdillahi Hashi Abib, a sitting member of the Somali Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of the People, told the Caller the corruption surfacing in Minnesota and across the United States did not emerge spontaneously, but is a downstream consequence of Somalia’s deeply entrenched system of corruption.

Abib’s analysis, shared exclusively with the Caller, draws both from his experience working within what is widely considered the second-most corrupt country in the world and from his collection of specific numerical data tied to alleged fraud involving political figures.

Abib asserted that despite repeated efforts to share the data with U.S. agencies, he has been ignored as the problem continues to grow — only recently coming into partial public view through investigations and reporting. He claims that captures just a fraction of what he has warned the United States government about for years.

Liz, I also see you fell for the resigning prosecution story. Here is from a defense lawyer who has actual facts instead of narratives. See if you agree with these activist prosecutors.

    Shipwreckedcrew
    @shipwreckedcrew
Let me tell you the real reason why the four prosecutors in Civil Rights Criminal Section resigned.

It has to do with the death of Breonna Taylor.

Louisville PD Officer Brett Hankison was retried after a jury in his first federal trial ended 11-1 for acquittal. These four individuals were part of the leadership team that agitated to retry him.

Hankison had already been acquitted in state court trial.

Hankison did not fire the round that killed Taylor. No one was struck by any round Hankison fired.

Hankison was convicted in a second trial in Nov. 2024, with the verdict coming just prior to the election.

After the Trump Admin. took over DOJ and the Civil Rights Division, it asked to have the sentencing postponed so new leadership could examine the history of the case and the decision-making behind retrying a case that had ended 11-1 for acquittal after a 12-0 acquittal in state court.

The DOJ filed a Sentencing Memorandum that said it could find NO CASE EVER that had been prosecuted on the legal theory relied upon by the DOJ prosecutors and supervisors who were behind the Hankison case.

It as a "cause" to "get" one police officer.

The Civil Rights prosecutors who had handled the case were removed by AAG Dhillon, and both have since left the office.

In the Sentencing Memoranda, DOJ recommended a sentence of "Time Served" -- 1 day -- given the conduct of the Biden DOJ.

The judge was unhappy -- she had expressed a clear dislike of Hankison and was cowed by the protesters in and out of the courtroom.

She sentenced him to 33 months AND denied him bail pending appeal even though DOJ did not oppose and agreed there were significant legal issues with the conviction.

The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals AGREED with Hankison and DOJ, and ordered him released pending appeal just before Christmas.

DOJ is likely to concede error by the Biden Civil Rights Prosecutors -- who were supported by the now resigned leadership.

Now you know the rest of the story.

I have an article I'm working on re Hankison's case that mostly focuses on the outrageous conduct by the Judge -- a Trump appointee, but more important than that, a McConnell acolyte.

The better they get at early detection - the earlier you will know you have cancer - the longer you will live with a cancer diagnosis - the more people who live 5 years or more after diagnosis.

There is no evidence that treatment has gotten any better. You just have more years of your life knowing you have cancer. The earlier diagnosis creates the outcome.

Slight disagreement. I can look out at the horizon and see that the Earth is flat. The earth being flat is an integral premise to Euclidean geometry.

No creature with literally two neurons to rub together exists in any sort of poly-dimensional sex-determination purgatory. Even many of the plants and organisms without two neurons to rub together, still have a clear, dimorphic sexual precursors, vestiges, and artifacts.

Slime molds might singularly reproduce, assume multiple dimorphic roles, or undergo polymorphic reproduction with a group of similarly reproductively ambiguous peers.

The earth being flat or not is irrelevant to Euclidian geometry.

Euclidian geometry is the geometry of flat planes and at small distances space (and earth is flat) sure, so Euclidian geometry isn't going to be useful on earth outside of short distances but its not dependent on a flat earth.

The earth being flat or not is irrelevant to Euclidian geometry.

As an anachronistic gestalt in modern human consciousness yes. As a historical artifact, no.

To wit, "human sex is a spectrum" is a "no" in both cases. Even if you ignore the last 2,000 yrs. of biology, trans ideology doesn't begin to explain even fairly common and basic aspects human (mammal, vertebrate...) behavior/biology.

Edit: To be clear, I'm not saying the Earth is flat. One is an illusion the other is a hallucination.

Rebuttal: Cats. Cats exist. Things are still on the Earth. If the Earth was flat, then Cats would have knocked everything off by now. Ergo, the Earth is not flat.

Counter-Rebuttal: The Earth's surface is 70+% water. Virtually none of that water is carbonated. Ergo, the Earth is flat.

But will it be in a men's or women's prison? Plus, didn't know "she" was Somali...oh, wait, El Salvadoran...Lawyer said it's wrong to give prison time or deportation, because, you know, trans folks who bilk taxpayers for almost $1M have it hard..."did not understand at the time the kind of harm she was causing" my ass.

Once-revered trans activist Ruby Corado gets prison time in fraud case

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/once-revered-trans-activist-ruby-corado-sentenced-for-defrauding-government/ar-AA1U8IJi

A once-revered transgender activist whose D.C. nonprofit housed and aided homeless LGBTQ+ immigrants and youths was sentenced Tuesday to serve 33 months in federal prison and pay more than $900,000 in restitution — a sentence that is likely to trigger deportation proceedings — after she pleaded guilty to diverting federal pandemic relief funds meant to support her clients to offshore personal bank accounts in El Salvador.

Pleasant Brodnax, attorney for Ruby Corado, in a sentencing memorandum filed Tuesday: “When Ms. Corado’s transgender status is considered alongside her non-citizen status—foreclosing meaningful re-entry programming and virtually guaranteeing immigration detention and likely removal—incarceration would be uniquely punitive in both kind and degree. A sentence of time served, together with the severe collateral consequences she already faces, is sufficient to reflect the seriousness of the offense, promote respect for the law, afford deterrence, and protect the public, without subjecting Ms. Corado to a foreseeable and extraordinary risk of harm.”

ALITO: Let's say a school has a boy and girl track team. A male student with no puberty blockers or female hormones, or surgeries, says, 'I AM A WOMAN. That's who I am.' Can the school say, 'No, you can't participate?'

    ATTORNEY: Yes...

ALITO: Is that person not a WOMAN in your understanding?! They SAY they're a woman. Are they not a woman, then?

ATTORNEY: Well, I'd respect their pronouns...

ALITO: You seem to be saying the school can discriminate on the basis of transgender status! If this person is a "transgender woman" and is barred from the girls' team, that person is being subjected to differential treatment based on transgender status, right?

I can see a need to define where and how this matters and where it doesn't. Meanwhile, six federal prosecutors in Minnesota resigned from their posts yesterday over the Department of Justice's push to investigate Becca Good...

    About that:

It as a “cause” to “get” one police officer.

The Civil Rights prosecutors who had handled the case were removed by AAG Dhillon, and both have since left the office.

In the Sentencing Memoranda, DOJ recommended a sentence of “Time Served” — 1 day — given the conduct of the Biden DOJ.

The judge was unhappy — she had expressed a clear dislike of Hankison and was cowed by the protesters in and out of the courtroom.

DOJ is likely to concede error by the Biden Civil Rights Prosecutors — who were supported by the now resigned leadership.

Liberal activist DOJ members who abuse their power to promote their agenda.

Iranian-American activist Masih Alinejad is accusing the American left of turning its back on Iranian protesters amid reports of thousands of deaths and a near-total communications blackout imposed by the regime.

"The silence of [the] left and liberals in America and Europe is not an accidental silence. It’s an ideological silence," Alinejad said Tuesday

Alinejad, who has been targeted by the Iranian regime for her activism, said Western activists and celebrities who loudly champion "Free Palestine" causes have remained silent as Iranians are killed in the streets.

"It will expose their hypocrisy," she said. "It will expose how they sympathize with our killers, with Islamist terrorists."

"You are playing in the Islamic Republic’s hands, and you are actually putting our lives in danger," Alinejad said.

In response to fraud in Minneapolis that prosecutors had under control,

It's revealing this idiot claims the fraud was "under control", which of course it is not. It shows first and foremost how little the left cares about fraud, they only mention it in the context of minimizing and excusing it. But secondly it shows their comments have no relationship to reality. If something is good for them politically they assert it, if it is not they deny it. Reality is simply not a relevant factor to them.

There's a showiness to all of it: It feels made for TV and not actually oriented toward finding and deporting the worst criminals who are here illegally.

I wonder what standard would satisfy you Liz. Because you go on to mention they are getting rid of rapists, murders, and thieves. There are still 10s if not 100s thousands illegals in Minn. They are breaking the law, and they should all face the consequences.

Then you still live in this lala land where protesters are pure as the wind driven snow just exercising their 1st amendment rights. Completely ignoring they are routinely using their cars to impede LAWFUL arrests and when that fails, using the car to attack ICE agents. Car rammings of ICE agents are up over 3000%.

It might be a shock if this is a new turn of events. But given all the BLM, summer of love, climate activists, etc. "protests" where law enforcement are hit with bricks, pieces of concrete, 'milkshakes', fire works, frozen water bottles, feces, urine, and blinded by laser pointers, it is time to stop pretending law enforcement are the violents ones. Zero articles here on these terrorist doxxing law enforcement. Zero articles on the funding and organization. Zero articles on car ramming attacks. Zero articles about the deadly rifle attack on the Dallas ICE facility by these terrorists.

The propaganda is out of control with this whole topic.

"A whistleblower is an individual who exposes unethical, illegal, or harmful practices within an organization, typically by reporting misconduct to authorities, regulatory bodies, the media, or internal compliance channels."

Leaking personal info of law enforcement doesn't fall under that whatsoever. But certain types of people fall for it so it's effective.

And, again, I can be a pretty subversive guy, but even the articles from Reason and Cato themselves show/say a disproportionate amount of people detained and deported are criminals and the number of false arrests or detentions are below "voter/welfare fraud" levels of incidental.

The idea that this one woman who was just going to the doctor's office in the middle of an ICE arrest doesn't pass muster any more than every last ICE action is pure as the driven snow.

The difference is in the obviously disingenuous acts the post on social media a la LibsOfTiktok simply reposting trannie educators' videos and the aggregate statistics as advertised by the ICE opposition.

Some guy who probably had no clue about the law, imperialism, or insurrection once said, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

By the even-handed precept of "If you're catching flak, you know you're over the target", if ICE were kicking in the doors of peaceful, legal political dissidents, we'd be getting incessant livestreams of that. The fact that we're getting people stalking ICE and driving into the middle of their operations (rather than from people locked in their homes, 6 ft. away from friends and loved ones) is pretty clear indication that the dark twilight of fascism is still over the horizon.

"How many of them are the worst of the worst? To what degree are they milking the numbers? These are rather low numbers if you consider the sheer amount of federal resources deployed to do this task

How many were unauthorized aliens for whom deportation is the statutory remedy? The focus is certainly on the "bad guys," but any illegal aliens encountered are subject to the law.

Maybe if Biden hadn't opened the floodgates to millions of illegals, the "cleanup" would not be so hard. One guy with a stick and a trash bag can keep a neighborhood litter-free with just a daily walk through. But let the streets be used for illegal dumping for 4 years, and you'll need heavy equipment, multiple work crews, and a lot of time to clean it all up.

Any communist useless idiot who's brainwashed and retarded enough to worship their cult leader messiahs George Soros and Block Insane Yomomma to the point where they're willing to martyr themselves for a putz like Tim Walz and the "noble" cause of multi-billion dollar Somali day care fraud? The more of them that get themselves killed, the better it is for America and the general human gene pool. I encourage them to keep escalating their asinine behavior further.

The Islamic Republic looks like they can’t pay their army or police forces.

This is the cardiac arrest moment for the regime.

Bank Sepah going down is a direct blow to the IRGC’s operational lifeline. Sepah is not just large, it is the core military liquidity node. If it fails, the state can no longer pay, command, or deploy without intermediaries or external help.

Five banks collapsing simultaneously means the central bank has lost control of the interbank spine. The last tool they have is printing, and they’re using it openly. That means foreign reserves are depleted or inaccessible, and capital flight is terminal.

This now enters irreversible cascade territory:
•Military wages at risk → loyalty decay begins
•Currency hyperinflation → mass cash withdrawal + hoarding
•Interbank seizure → trust collapse across private sector
•Public unrest → fuel for regime fracture
•External actors watching → ignition risk spikes

Iran’s internal structure is no longer just weak. It is liquefying.

A strike now becomes a decision, not a necessity. The regime is already unraveling from within. All external pressure now compounds the probability of spontaneous collapse.

This is a death spiral with a countdown.

Trump has helped a bit. The oil port was destroyed by our forces yesterday (IIRC), and that means no oil goes out to China. Which also means no hard currency goes into Iran. This will probably help collapse the banks the Mullahs use.

          One bank already failed.

          https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/bank-collapse-iran-protests-83f6b681

The biggest harbinger that things were about to fall apart in Iran didn’t come from the thwarted anger of the country’s opposition or the frustrated hopes of young people hungry for more personal freedom. It came from the collapse of a bank.

Late last year, Ayandeh Bank, run by regime cronies and saddled with nearly $5 billion in losses on a pile of bad loans, went bust. The government folded the carcass into a state bank and printed a massive amount of money to try to paper over all the red ink. That buried the problem but didn’t solve it.

Once a totalitarian government can no longer pay its security forces, it is doomed. The only thing that keeps the Mullahs alive is the existence of a group of people willing to kill to ensure that. If those people are not paid, then the Mullahs will get what they pay for.

    Reflexively and George Soros

    https://x.com/conceptualjames/status/2011166708451471852?s=46&t=qeA47-JjK6vq0pfnxg60dA

Why so much propaganda and lying over there in Democrat Wokeland? Especially with some of the absolutely incredible things we're seeing in Minnesota, where people seem very detached from reality?

A key part of the answer is George Soros's concept of "reflexivity." You'll want to understand this.

Reflexivity is a property of social circumstances, Soros tells us in his 1992 book The Alchemy of Finance, where he develops the concept. It's what sets the social sciences apart from the physical sciences and is based on the fact that in social situations, the objects (people) affected by circumstances are also subjects and participants in creating circumstances.

Soros explains that this means that "social sciences" are a misnomer, in fact. He suggests instead that they should be recognized as "social alchemy." He goes on to explain the relevance of this difference:

"Scientific method seeks to understand things as they are, while alchemy seeks to bring about a desired state of affairs. To put it another way, the primary objective of science is truth, -- that of alchemy, operational success."

Soros explains that reflexivity is a dialectic, like the dialectic of Hegel but less abstruse and like the dialectic of Marx but more open-ended. What that means is that it is "transformative" in its operation and goals. That is, it is designed to create specific, guided change, i.e., "operational success."

Soros explains that reflexivity operates in a peculiar and specific space: in the gap between what people believe is true and what is actually true. That is, the reflexive dialectic refers to inducing and utilizing actionable beliefs that are wrong.

    Thus, all the propaganda.

For his method to work, there must be a gap between what is actually true and what many, many people believe is true.

For it to work, lots of people have to be dangerously wrong.

He goes on to explain that reflexive campaigns propagate through something he calls "fertile fallacies," which are errors (or lies) that lead people to act upon them, including sharing and spreading their falsehoods with others (going viral).

    Thus, again, all the propaganda.

Over time, people have to be primed to be this wrong, actionably.

The way you get them there is by systematically misleading them about reality.

Soros also explains that during normal situations, which he says are "near equilibrium" (or stable), significant or "historic" change is not possible. Big changes that fundamentally reorient the way a system works only occur in situations that are "far from equilibrium" (chaotic).

During such times, people are desperate to regain stability and equilibrium, so, Soros says, they'll latch on to any "guideposts" that can lead them through the chaos.

Thus, yet again, all the propaganda.

The potential for chaos has to be arranged while getting a lot of people to believe something highly actionable that is mostly untrue, and then it has to be sparked, and then it has to be guided.

That's how the "Soros Model" (reflexivity) works.

In Minnesota right now, a huge reflexive campaign (direct action) has been launched, but it has also been building at least for many months (actually years, over a decade). The gap between what people believe and reality (or, the pertinent one among many) is that Trump is an illegitimate dictator (TDS) and his agencies, like ICE, are effectively a fascist Gestapo bringing something like Nazism to the United States, with lower officials either complicit or incapable of stopping it.

That has been the tone and tenor of a lot of the propaganda for at least a decade, and certainly very specifically since Trump took office. (Trump's admin's comms team isn't helping itself here with a lot of its unnecessarily provocative shitpoasting from official accounts, btw.)

Your average Leftist in Minnesota, agitators, organizers, provocateurs, etc., aside (with all of them playing their obvious roles) fully believes wildly untrue things about Trump, ICE, the law, what ICE is doing, why ICE is doing it, who ICE is removing from their communities, on what authority, and why, and more. They are extremely deranged and functionally psychotic.

They're in a state that is far from equilibrium and loaded up with fertile fallacies, a state I refer to on the community-level as having high reflexive potential. Just a little propaganda of very specific types will set them off into mass (psychotic) direct action, as we see.

Thus, so much of the propaganda, both chronically over the last year(s) and acutely, since ICE Floyd.

What Democratic politicians and media apparatchiks are doing now in Minnesota, to say nothing of the agitators, provocateurs, organizers, etc., and their social media appendages, is putting down "guideposts" about how to deal with this far from equilibrium situation, pushing wildly deluded people into psychopathic action.

THIS, guys, is the "Soros Model" in action (which has been widely adopted by institutional manipulators since the late 1980s when he taught it first to the CCP and then more widely).

Fwiw, in The Alchemy of Finance, Soros explains that he likes to use this method because he "takes a certain malicious pleasure in shorting an institutional favorite." The United States and the American Experiment are the best bet in the world, though, a big, big, big "institutional favorite" I'm sure Soros and his acolytes would maliciously enjoy shorting this way.

This is why so many Democratic politicians like Tim Walz and Jacob Frey and Ilhan Omar, and beyond Minnesota too, and their media and social media appendages all started screaming "ICE OUT" immediately after the triggering incident we can call ICE Floyd. They're shifting gears from building reflexive potential to releasing and guiding it.

It's also why they put so much time and effort into steadily building the reflexive potential of raging TDS. You can see how immediately actionable it is (guided by opportunistic and evil politicians, media entities, and a highly coordinated network of professional organizers and social media personalities, many completely anonymous). They needed lots of people to have a wide gap between what they believe and what's true (reflexive gap) that they could take advantage of to suddenly create "historic change" under their guidance at the right moment.

We need to understand that this is how Leftists work. All of this can be defused by targeting the building reflexive potential before the moment of explosion arrives, while they're building it. It can be dampened by increasing the number of people and voices who are savvy to the manipulations and lies and who are making the truth more visible to people who mostly haven't been paying attention until it has high immediacy. Reflexive campaigns can be dampened, fizzled, and stopped.

This shouldn't be surprising. The protests are largely a Leftist thing, you see, and the Left has been stressing the importance of organizing and community and worker solidarity and action since the days of Joe Hill whose motto was 'Don't mourn, organize!' The fact that demonstrations are planned ahead of time is not only a Leftist thing, I reckon. Even Fascists and other Rightists plan their events ahead of time. No movement worth its salt relies on spontaneous gatherings to put their message across.

She's probably supposed to be "nonverbal" autistic, so that tablet has words/phrases that can be used instead of having to speak and the headphones are to prevent loud noises from triggering the autist.

Yeah, I've seen both, but usually the person gives other affectations of behavioral maladjustment or eccentricity that Barbie doesn't have or that doesn't lend itself well to Barbie (comfortable rather than fashionable clothing, unkempt hair, averted gaze, etc., etc., etc.).

I think it's a solution in search of a problem situation. They want it to "look autistic" without stereotyping autism. Capture the entire diverseness of "the spectrum" in one person without making them a caricature (which, in the context of Barbie means their own retardation is catching up to them).

Any girl can be visually severely autistic and achieve the life goals of Sandra Day O'Connor Ruth Bader Ginsberg Amy Coney Barrett Ketanji Brown Jackson!

I can understand that people have phones and devices to redirect their habits and energies, but I don't recall if people used to chew pens and straws just because they were stressed or bored or if they were young, had poor impulse control, *and* stressed and bored. Seemed like any given cup or drawer of pens and pencils had at least a few that looked like someone had tried, half successfully, to eat a couple of them.

Incredible clip that gets to the heart of Democrats' anti-deportation zealotry:

CNBC’s Joe Kernen asks Sen Mark Warner why Democrats supported deportations under Obama, but not now.

Kernen: “What changed with Democrats? Biden let in 12 million. Is it about VOTES?"

Warner avoids that question, but admits the border was WIDE OPEN under Biden:

Warner: "The border being as open as it was under Biden was one of the reasons Trump got elected."

Kernen: "You're glad it's closed now?"

Warner: "Do I think we ought to not have a FULLY OPEN border? Absolutely."

Kernen: “The 12 million that came in. What do we do?"

Warner: "Question I have for you is closing the border versus sending out ICE agents across the country to randomly pick up people based on quotas that have committed no crime?"

Kernen: "How did Obama deport 5 million?"

Warner then advocates for AMNESTY: “There ought to be a path towards legality."

Kernen’s original question was finally answered, albeit indirectly.

Warner and Democrats don’t want deportations because they want amnesty for the millions that are here — and their votes.

I don't often refrain from shaming crazy cat ladies, but when I do, it's because they've got a pretty cogent take on the whole field of play.

ICE has got a job to do and they're doing it. If you don't like the job they're doing, obstructionist cosplay is not the way you fix it. Even many ardent "MAGA" supporters felt and openly stated that Jan. 6th wasn't beneficial to the cause and that people breaking shit and defacing property should've been arrested, appropriately charged, and tried for their crimes.

Even those (supposedly) sanctifying Ashley Babbitt generally acknowledge that if she'd been arrested and tried for a handful of charges around (e.g.) destruction of property, refusing to obey, resisting arrest, and/or breaking and entering, the case would be pretty open-and-shut.

This is a very telling remark. Old boy must think that every thing is ok *since it's following the plan*.

Remember, there would be no culture war if you just surrendered, laid down, and took it. This is all your fault. Look what you made the Left do to you.

Claiming this about removing illegals is an admission allowing these illegals in was a sweeping social and demographic change, yet according to the left believing this is racist.

If they actually believed their original position they wouldn't contradict themselves quite so easily.

And the whole 'what is a women' thing is perfect for the Left. Doublethink is their thing.

I read it as "nominally desirable" rather than "able to be comprehended".

The idea that Renee "Oops! Sorry!"ed her way into and out of the incident and everyone returned to what they were doing is the more "understandable" solution. But, of course, misguided as it was, Renee wasn't there on accident.

Like with the woman going to the doctor, if she really were going to a doctor's appointment and just happened to find herself on the opposite side of the ICE operation and they waved her through and she went. That's "understandable even if misguided".

"intramural sport for all comers, from influencers to wine moms to aging Boomers who prefer protest marches to pickleball."

So - ordinary Americans? Lost in that rant is that these are people who oppose the use of ICE for political social purposes. It might not have sunk in yet to these soccer moms how serious it is to oppose armed government thugs in the streets, but it doesn't make their opposition any the less serious. Is Kat Rosenfeld or The Free Press actually supporting the notion that concerned citizens should stay home to avoid the possibility of violence? Or are they simply bemoaning the cluelessness of protestors? Maybe they would prefer Red Oktober partisans instead? For shame!

"The fraud cases, which involve schemes to cheat safety net programs, were the chief reason the Trump administration cited for its immigration crackdown in the state. The vast majority of defendants charged in the cases are American citizens of Somali origin."

Duh. Remember how "we" used to argue that immigrants who are "American citizens of X origin" were pillars of the community, generating more economic activity than they used in public services?

Funny how that falls apart once you start breaking down the poorly-defined 'blob' of "immigrant" and start looking at specifics like country of origin, etc.

"Remember how "we" used to argue ..."

No, Rick I don't remember that, because it never happened. No one with any acquaintance with the facts and any possession of logical ability would lump millions of people into one simplistic category and try to pretend that they were all the same. There are statistics that clearly show that millions of legal immigrants, American citizens of foreign origin and illegal immigrants are peaceful, productive citizens who have never committed any crimes. The only thing they seem to be threatening is your vision of what an all-white exclusively Protestant Christian America should look like.

There are also statistics that confirm that a few of those people are - or become - violently insane or commit violent crimes. No one in his right mind would ever claim that people who are suspects in a crime should not be investigated, arrested, charged or punished for those crimes. There is evidence to support the fact that - on the whole - immigrants (legal or illegal) are LESS likely to commit violent crimes against people than Americans born in America. Either way, whether they are immigrants or born in America of American parents, the only relevant factor is whether they are suspected of having committed a violent crime, NOT where they were born. Anyone who says otherwise is simply revealing their own bigotry and ignorance.

Scenes from New York: A new lawsuit filed in federal court claims the state of New York is using solitary confinement for incarcerated teenagers. The facilities in question "are for youth up to 21 years old who are convicted of a crime in family or the youth part of criminal court," per The New York Times. "The system is intended to be rehabilitative, but youth are often held in solitary confinement as a form of punishment for 'alleged rule infractions and, at times, minor misbehavior, including manifestations of youth's disabilities,' according to the suit."

    lol *snort*

No one under the age of 21 could victimize anyone else or be violent.

ALITO: To decide if there is discrimination on the basis of sex under Title IX, we need to define what sex is, right?

    ACLU: Yes.

ALITO: What does it mean to be a man or woman, boy or girl?

ACLU: We do not have a definition for the Court.

Fuck you, ACLU. Fuck you. Now we know why the trans movement's motto is "No Debate!", because they will lose every fucking time.

Now, let's bring in Nick Gillespie to douche-splain to the comment section about how this is just only about pronouns and promethean transformations.

FYI, the latest analysis I heard on this tranny case in front of the court was that the ACLU was starting to pivot into turning a loss into a limited win. Ie, go ahead and agree that these states that have banned dudes from competing in girls' sports, but making sure that the other states which don't ban it or have explicitly allowed it may continue to do so.

It's hilarious to me that the focus here is on Somali day care fraud. This is similar to the Narco Squad claiming victory in the War on Drugs after arresting a few addicts and their low-level dealers while the upper level drug kingpins go merrily on about their million dollar drug businesses unimpeded. The elephant in the room in the Minnesota day care fraud scandal starts with - and cannot happen without - government agencies handing out billions of dollars of other peoples' money to poor people. Okay, go ahead and punish Walz for incompetence in properly supervising those give-away "programs." But what we really need is for the government to STOP handing out billions of dollars of free cash. Problem solved!
