Gaetz Pulls Out
Plus: NYC stabbing spree, rescheduling pot, Burke vs. Paine, and more...

Gaetz gone: Turns out the scandals—which may have involved a second instance of sex with a 17-year-old escort*—were too much for the Trump team, which withdrew once (and future) Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz's nomination for attorney general.

I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback - and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance…
— Matt Gaetz (@mattgaetz) November 21, 2024
Gaetz had, in preparation for the confirmation hearings and possibly serving as head of the Justice Department (lmao), resigned from his seat in the 118th Congress. But don't get too excited: He's back for more, come January, as he was reelected by his constituents.
Now, President-elect Donald Trump has picked former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to head up the Department of Justice, pending confirmation by the Senate. Bondi is a Trump loyalist who "oversaw the filing of voting-related lawsuits in battleground states," per The New York Times. Trump will also "nominate three members of his criminal defense team to top roles in the Justice Department" making clear that he will, in essence, funnel his own personal legal advisers and defenders to top positions within the government. Of course, this is just kind of how administrations work—you choose people you like and trust, who are loyal to you—but Trump has, in particular, vowed a purging of deep state enemies within the DOJ, repeatedly affirming that he intends to put an end to the lawfare that's victimized him.

Pot possibilities: It's not clear how, exactly, the incoming Trump administration will handle pot at the federal level; though it remains federally illegal, it's now legal for recreational use in 24 states. Matt Gaetz as head of DOJ could have been a useful pot champion, but Trump's replacement pick for attorney general, Bondi, is decidedly no fan of weed. Still, advocates are looking toward possible movement during the next few months, prior to Donald Trump taking office.
The Safer Banking Act, which would allow much of the industry to gain access to banking services, has some slimmish odds of passing over the next few weeks, and "one potential positive for the industry is a Biden-led plan to reclassify cannabis," reports The Wall Street Journal, theorizing about lame-duck pot possibilities:
"Marijuana is labeled a Schedule I substance alongside heroin and LSD. Because it falls into this category, cannabis companies aren't allowed to offset regular business expenses such as rent or travel, which can leave their effective tax rate north of 70%. Rescheduling would boost the profitability of many struggling cannabis growers who don't have enough cash on hand to pay what they owe to the taxman. An initial hearing on the proposal will take place on Dec. 2. So long as Republicans don't scuttle the process, estimates of how long rescheduling cannabis could take range from six months to two years."
Scenes from New York: Earlier this week, a 51-year-old homeless man named Ramon Rivera went on a stabbing spree across Manhattan, killing three people. He was released last month having been jailed on charges of burglary and assault. His record is long—he's been arrested by the NYPD eight times, at least five times in Florida, and twice in Ohio—but it's not totally clear how many arrests have resulted in convictions and jail time.
Many will continue to say crime is down year over year, which may well be true, but two things are worth considering: People aren't these perfectly rational creatures who compare the crime level to this point last year—it's more of a broad sense of how things used to be, versus how they are now; and public disorder, which is very hard to measure and isn't captured by crime stats, appears to be quite bad. Whether it's people shooting up in plain sight, or behaving erratically on the street, or pharmacies locking up their wares due to shoplifting, many New Yorkers share a sense that our politicians simply do not care about ensuring public spaces are safe, pleasant, and usable.

- Yuval Levin came on Just Asking Questions to talk about what Trump's mandate to rule is, if it exists at all, as well as framing the American political divide between right and left as one of Edmund Burke vs. Thomas Paine.
- Speaking of Just Asking Questions, we have something special planned for fans of the show once we reach 5,000 subscribers on YouTube. You know what to do!
- "My analysis of precinct-level voting data in four major urban areas shows that the exit polls may actually be understating the degree to which Asian Americans shifted to the right," writes Neetu Arnold for RealClearPolitics. "Majority-Asian precincts in New York City, for instance, saw a rightward shift of 31 percentage points. Precincts in Dallas and Fort Bend counties in Texas both saw rightward shifts between 17 and 20 points. And precincts in Chicago saw a 23-point shift to the right."
- This is a good point, on the topic of the ongoing battle between Rep. Nancy Mace (R–S.C.) and incoming Rep. Sarah McBride (D–Del.), who is transgender. (Relatedly.)
This defies reason. Bathroom bills (by either party) only benefit one population: The trans people who *do not* pass.
If they pass, then no one even notices and it is not an issue. This is only coming up because activists want bathroom access for people who *do not* pass. https://t.co/rbAZwrxXyy

Putin reveals Russia has used its new ‘Oreshnik’ hypersonic ballistic missile
Russia has successfully conducted a “combat test” of its newest ballistic missiles against a Ukrainian target, Vladimir Putin has said.
Oreshnik is a hypersonic IRBM named after the Hazelnut Tree. Nutelling what this could lead to.
Russia, China, Iran, maybe India, and apparently the Houthis all field hypersonic missiles. The US MIC is focusing on pronouns advancements and has no such offering in production.
Russia now put a US base in Poland on its list of targets.
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/russia-lists-us-missile-defense-base-poland-priority-strike-target
All US bases and cities are on their list of targets. These intermediate range missiles likely hit any target in Europe without being intercepted. They can carry conventional (as used in Ukraine) or nuclear warheads. Apparently there is a MIRV option for up to six warheads per missile.
The intel group I’m in has about half in disbelief, particularly the neocons.
US milintel was aware of their existence but wasn’t sure if there were reliable production models. They are now aware that there are. That was a “glint of the sword” moment by the Kremlin in response to US, British, and ostensibly French missiles being used inside Russia.
Yeah, it was already there anyway, they're just making it public now.
The western left-liberals want a war with Russia so bad they can taste it. Because let's face it, it's not the holhols launching those weapons, it's American SOF troops and "advisors" doing that. You don't have to think Russia is the "good guy" to see that NATO is deliberately trying to provoke a shooting war with them and using Ukraine as a meat shield.
Probably not SF guys, kind of out of their wheelhouse. Betting it's just plain artie acting as advisors.
Field Artillery Branch would handle the ATACMS.
These are new. They have had the hypersonic Kinzhals since around 2017. Maybe another variety or two as well.
Sorry, I meant the long-range weapons the Biden admin just authorized the Ukies to launch.
Yes. They had been there for some time but only for use in Donbas. I think that was known. The Storm Shadows delivery was open news when it happened.
None of the Russian sources I visit talked about western missiles ever being used inside Russia proper. That likely would have been big news.
The MIRV nuclear option was disallowed under treaties until Obama waived it for Russia.
Great. WWIII. Lets kill 5 billion for the glory of Hillary Clinton (not having to admit she lost in 2016 because she is an arrogant fuckup is the only reason for all of this).
Russia did notify the US via nuclear risk reduction channels just prior to launching per DOD though reports from Russia are conflicting.
"Lets kill 5 billion for the glory of Hillary Clinton (not having to admit she lost in 2016 because she is an arrogant fuckup is the only reason for all of this)."
To be fair, Putin's anti-trans stance probably plays a big part too.
Not allowing kids to be chemically castrated is a casus belli.
Yeah, it's notable that a lot of the narrative on Putin, who was always an asshole, started to turn right around the time that the laws forbidding gay propaganda were passed. A lot of that kicked off after t.A.t.U. was used by western media to push lesbian pedophilia in the early 2000s.
Most of the source of their rage against Putin is the fact that he refused to go along with the perceived manifest destiny of western left-liberalism after Y2K. I'm sure the Deep State and mass media thought an ex-KGB agent would be down with implementing post-modern cultural marxism in Russia, but they never did realize a lot of that shit was promoted by Russian agents in the US specifically to divide the population away from American nationalism. It wasn't meant to apply to the Motherland after Stalin fully asserted himself.
Gives new breadth to the term "useful idiots."
This freakout over hypersonic missiles is a crock. The WW II V-2 was hypersonic. Any ballistic missile with a long enough range is hypersonic.
There are a few hypersonic cruise missiles, but their speed decreases their targeting accuracy and they are inefficient delivering conventional warheads, and ballistic missiles deliver nuclear warheads better.
A gyroscopically guided sub hypersonic rocket with a WW2 warhead ≠ a hypersonic IRBM that can carry nuclear warheads and reliably avoid current gen air defenses.
V-2, bud. Not V-1.
V2 (Mach 4.7) was not hypersonic (> Mach 5). It was a terror weapon that could hit “somewhere near X” with a 1940s era conventional warhead. Increase the speed by 70%, make it more accurate, and tip it with nuclear warheads. Yeah, nothing to see here.
Only losers caught fibbing quibble about 0.3 Mach, which, by the way, is not 70%. And 3580 / 660 is 5.4 anyway.
So many strawmen!
Its use has nothing to do with its speed.
Its crappy targeting has nothing to do with its speed.
Its conventional warhead has nothing to do with its speed.
ETA: Stick to the puns. Arithmetic is racist.
"Only losers caught fibbing quibble about 0.3 Mach, which, by the way, is not 70%. And 3580 / 660 is 5.4 anyway.
So many strawmen!"
Holy smokes, man.
The Oreshnik is 70% faster than the V2. The other items are addressing other areas where the Hazelnut outperforms the V2.
I’ll just assume you are trolling or using hyperbole and not someone that has reading compression and critical thinking failures like jeffsarc.
Assume all you want, but actual refutations would carry more weight. Conflating WW II tech with modern tech while wrongly quibbling over Mach speeds is not impressive.
At least your first name is correct. You come off as a sarc sock.
Bud! I said hypersonic missiles are hyped for no reasons, because ballistic missiles, including the V-2, are hypersonic, and because hypersonic makes cruise missile guidance difficult.
You responded first by mixing up the V-1 and V-2.
Then you were wrong about the V-2 speed.
Then you throw in nonsense about the V-2 was miserable because it didn’t have a modern warhead, which is silly because it could certainly lift a modern MIRVed nuclear payloads, and all current hypersonic cruise missiles are tested and fielded with conventional warheads, not nukes; and it didn’t have a modern guidance system, which could also be retrofitted.
Neither of those complaints has anything to do with overhyping modern hypersonic missiles. They’re just sarcjeff levels of strawman.
If you want to argue about the difficulties of guiding modern hypersonic cruise missiles, go ahead. But blathering on about strawmen is stupid.
+1
It's never clear whether you're going to get "Government Tricks, Stupid" or "Stupid G. Tricks" or "Mr. Government-Tricks".
Stupid, the WW II V2 was not hypersonic (except once, when in 1949, post WW II, the US added another stage and it disintegrated).
You must have mixed up V-1 and V-2. You seem confused.
Do you have a cite where I said the V-2 was horrible?
You incorrectly identified the WW II V-2 as hypersonic. You stated, “This freakout over hypersonic missiles is a crock.” I pointed out that in addition to the substantial speed advantage the hypersonic Oreshnik missile has over the supersonic WW II V-2 rocket, it has other attributes that distance it from the weapon you posted about. The freak out by some is that the US does not currently field an equivalent, the current gen air defenses are not designed to intercept these (this strike, Kinzhal strikes, and Iran reported to bypass Iron Dome with one as examples).
You’re just projecting at the end like jeffsarc often do.
Bud, if you aren’t impressed with the Oreshnik, then that is your position.
I'll be honest. A few days ago I started to wonder if Stupid Government Tricks username had been hijacked because his demeanor changed to be more like that of sarc (overly petty and picking fights). I don't know if this is the original SGT or a sock, but he doesn't seem the same. I had been pretty impressed when I first saw him in the comments a few months ago. He'd been making cogent arguments and was clearly knowledgeable about many subjects. What I'm seeing now doesn't seem like the same guy, based on how ornery he's been.
Hypersonic makes radio reception difficult, which includes both GPS and radar; recall how the space shuttle and returning capsules all lost communication until they slowed down enough. Optical is harder and precludes night and bad weather.
Plus, a mile a second amplifies targeting difficulties.
The problems with hypersonic is more about the heat warping effects on the structure, body bending at high speeds, and other kinematic effects.
Military use GPS can be tracked up to vehicles going Mach 15.
There are also other transmitters outside of common band radio systems.
Yes there are interference issues with both, but same is true of slower weapons due to modern interference sources and jamming.
You can find this information easily on the web if interested.
There! Chumby, you see that? Actual argument, not strawmen.
Thanks. I will look them up.
for those who don't know the SR71 used stars for navigation. far more reliable than gps satilites and once on course target is locked. I'm sure they have even better systems now and I'm sure the Russians have them as well
There are still companies that produce a star compass navigational device.
"Hypersonic" usually mans over Mach 5. I don't think V2s were generally achieving those speeds. They were definitely supoersonic.
V-2s according to Wikipedia: Maximum: 5,760 km/h (3,580 mph). Speed of sound at altitude is 600+. Sea level is 760.
Ballistic missiles follow a predictable arc through space, and they can't maneuver while in space. That makes it easier to predict their path and defend from them.
Hypersonic missiles glide through the atmosphere and they're capable of maneuvering the entire time. That makes them much more difficult to shoot down.
Hypersonic cruise missiles fly fast and low, and like you said fuel limits the payload. The hype is about hypersonic glide vehicles released from rockets that maneuver through the upper atmosphere before dropping onto their target.
They do not fly low. They fly near the edge of the atmosphere instead of exo.
The kinematic control required to avoid terrain obstacles at low altitudes would be an issue. Plus overcoming sea level drag would defeat the purpose and greatly reduce the range.
Please stop opining on subjects you’re ignorant to.
Lower than ballistic missiles doesn’t mean low altitude.
That would mean he couldn't opine on just about anything except which brand of plastic jug whiskey or gin tastes the best.
Or the finer puts of etiquette regarding manning a gloryhole for booze money
That was really dumb. Did you bother to read the second sentence in my comment? Yeah, didn't think so.
Did you say low altitude. Yes or no?
It is in your comment. It is one of the dumbest comments I’ve ever seen. Thinking near exo is low altitude shows your ignorance.
Poor sarc.
Yes, pour Sarc.
The Houthis are Iranian proxies, that's why they have them. It's also why they were able to chase the US Navy off with its tail tucked between its legs.
A Russian or Chinese hypersonic missile potentially sinks a carrier with one launch.
Only the USA can hit you with a missile in a rainbow of colors or with 42 different genders.
Which really showcases democrat defense priorities.
How tf is this not the top story everywhere?
It is the top story in the comments.
Libertarians are more concerned about True Crime podcasts than they are about actual war.
The launch was a message to Europe, Chumby: America cannot protect you.
Why the fuck is POTUS Biden making it more difficult for peace?
Biden isn’t doing anything. His administration is being run by the war machine.
It’s why I always go back to the argument that some at Reason made in the 2020 Who we are voting for article that voting for a vegetable was good because he couldn’t get anything done as one of the most ignorant, naive arguments ever made for voting for someone.
Biden is burning it down as he walks out the door. All of these moves are calculated to make POTUS Trump's job impossible. It isn't just here. It is the ME, too. And the Pacific.
America is getting hurt, not Pres Trump. He has his billions. He won't be hurt. But America will be,
Democrats don’t care about America, or Americans. It’s al, about their power through their policies. Anyone who believes we can continue to tolerate their existence and survive as a nation is a fool.

Knew it had to be Monty Python's Meaning of Life.
...because we don’t believe in all that Papist claptrap, we can take precautions.
No, no. I mean, because we are members of the Protestant Reformed Church, which successfully challenged the autocratic power of the Papacy in the mid-sixteenth century, we can wear little rubber devices to prevent issue.
I could, if I wanted, have sexual intercourse with you, and, by wearing a rubber sheath over my old feller, I could insure… that, when I came off, you would not be impregnated.
That’s what being a Protestant’s all about.
That’s why it’s the church for me. That’s why it’s the church for anyone who respects the individual and the individual’s right to decide for him or herself.
When Martin Luther nailed his protest up to the church door in fifteen-seventeen, he may not have realised the full significance of what he was doing, but four hundred years later, thanks to him, my dear, I can wear whatever I want on my John Thomas.
...and, Protestantism doesn’t stop at the simple condom. Oh, no. I can wear French Ticklers if I want.
French Ticklers. Black Mambos. Crocodile Ribs. Sheaths that are designed not only to protect, but also to enhance the stimulation of sexual congress.
Have I got one? Uh, well, no, but I can go down the road any time I want and walk into Harry’s and hold my head up high and say in a loud, steady voice, ‘Harry, I want you to sell me a condom. In fact, today, I think I’ll have a French Tickler, for I am a Protestant.’
But they – Well, they cannot, ’cause their church never made the great leap out of the Middle Ages and the domination of alien Episcopal supremacy.
Also stops you from getting charged with rape if an immigrant.
Um, I believe there's a second part: you have to show remorse. (third part: victim has to be drunk?). We're not animals here.
It is acceptable for the illegal alien to pull out then ejaculate on the victim?
I’d guess, as long as it wasn’t premature.
Only if you jack off while holding the victim down so someone else can penetrate her.

US Congress to impose bathroom rules for transgenders
Transgender people will only be able to use Congressional restrooms that align with their sex at birth, House Speaker Mike Johnson has said.
This story just leaked. Am happy my tax money won’t be used to install urinals in the women’s room.
Yep, they can flush those ideas.
They must use the bathroom that aligns with their sex, not their cosplay
…House Speaker Mike Johnson has said.
The Dems wonder why they lost the federal government.
Does this rule apply to everyone equally?
restrooms that align with their sex
at birth.Fixed it. There is no difference between "sex" and "sex at birth".
Well dems got what they wanted. An experienced AG who helped defend against impeachment. A woman. Fills what they demanded against gaetz with experience.
Now they are raging against Pam Bondi but it isn't sticking.
4d chess strikes again.
The Dems could try 38DD chess, but they’d come off looking like a bunch of boobs.
The only possible reason to oppose her nomination is misogyny, is what I’ve learned.
Evidently, it's really hard to gin up sexual assault charges when it's not a man.
What is a man?
A miserable little pile of secrets.
Yeah, unlike Gaetz, Bondi isn't a spaz, and is a legitimate hardass who isn't going to fuck around or be distracted. She probably would have been Governor after DeSantis if she hadn't gotten nominated.
This is the AG who brought Disney, arguably the biggest mass media company on the planet and de facto propaganda machine for the Democratic party, to heel. The Dems should be absolutely terrified of her because she IS fully qualified, focused, knows her shit, and won't take prisoners.
Oh, I hope she does take prisoners. There are thousand of crooked democrats that must be made to account for their endless crimes in recent years.
I'll bet DeSantis appoints Gaetz to replace Senator Rubio, removing a RINO from the Senate and replacing him with a real conservative, the liberals hate so much they've been trying to set him up like Trump (and so many GOP nominees over the past 4 decades) based on false allegations, where the person making the allegations never pays for their lies. And the Democrat party gives them a lawyer, that really represents the Democrats.
I still can’t figure out how it is a free society to have a culture that treats accusations as “credible” to the point of destroying someone’s life but thinks defamation laws are anti-free speech.
These two things - “credible” accusations and no consequences for lying - cannot coexist. Either we return to actually prosecuting crimes based on “credible” accusations and we stop giving accusations the seal of approval, or we embrace defamation laws. One or the other.
Take it For Granted
Conservative ‘dark money ATM’ granted record $351 million last year
A group routing the fortunes of conservative and libertarian donors that progressives have dubbed the Right's "dark money ATM" issued a record $351 million in grants last year, according to a tax filing.
- Libertarian Media
https://denvergazette.com/news/nation-world/conservative-dark-money-atm-granted-record-351-million-last-year/article_97a8f211-f19e-559b-b9db-a55eda48a949.html
Dems always bitch about “dark money,” despite taking hundreds of millions from the same sources themselves, whenever they’re in danger of losing an election or have lost an election.
Like all things the left complains about, it’s mendacious and an attempt to deflect from them doing the exact same thing. Look at that mentally ill tranny freak that was screaming at Nancy Mase yesterday about her “not standing up to Big Tech,” when Big Tech is mostly on his side. His real complaint (because the freak is a man, and will never be a woman) is that the left doesn’t hold total control of the industry, not that Mase doesn’t supposedly stand up to them.
The issue isn’t the issue, the issue is whatever makes marxism happen.
Because, that’s (D)ifferent.
For instance:
“Cumulatively, the NRA has raised $4,883,131.42 through its PAC and super PAC over the first three quarters of 2024, according to the FEC data. By comparison, Everytown for Gun Safety’s super PAC alone has raised $7,015,346.82 year-to-date. Collectively, the gun-control groups have raised $12,568,583.64 over the first nine months of 2024.
Democrats always complain that NRA "buys votes"...but taking money from Everytown is never "buying votes".
The double standard of Marcusian "liberating tolerance" in action.
Well, they have to accuse the NRA of "buying votes". If they were honest about the source of the NRA's power, they'd have to admit it was just in their ability to identify politicians who were very bad on gun rights. Because that's all it really is. And there are a lot of voters who care a lot about their gun rights. But, admitting that means admitting that, rather than anti-democratic, the NRA's strategy is democracy in action and, essentially, the gun grabbers' strategy is that they want to evade accountability to voters.
Yeah, "buying votes" implies that they get people to vote differently than what they are initially inclined to do. But NRA pretty much just provides information to people who already oppose gun control.
JFC:
On the political side, Vice President Kamala Harris and other Democrats benefited from far more dark money in the 2024 election than Republicans, Federal Election Commission filings show.
It's like the Pete "CA demonstrates more fiscal responsibility than AK or MO by not going even more batshit insane" Suderman show.
Once again, hilarious that when the chicks spend billions fruitlessly we shout "Equal pay for equal work!" at anyone who dares raise a finger in question, but when they're historically defeated by a man for half the price, less than your average winning election in the recent history, we have to rifle through his pockets to be sure that he didn't get any of his money from the wrong people who might be trying to buy their way into power.
How can the left whine about “dark money” when Act Blue is one of the biggest money laundering operations in the country? (despite Act Blue being the favorite choice for conservative donors, I hear)
Not to mention virtually all union money spent on elections is spent on Democrats. But god forbid some business try to have a voice in an election...unless it's something like Daily Kos funding Democrats, in which case it's righteous or something.
I get emails from Daily Kos, well, daily. From an email a few years ago that I saved my comments on...

I subscribe to some liberal sites, and as a result get regular emails from them. I once received an email from PublicCitizen.org. Now, PublicCitizen.org is a 501(c)(4) corporation, whose primary purpose seems to be opposing the ruling handed down in the Citizens United case.
Recall that the Citizens United case hinged on the fact that a 501(c)(4) corporation produced a movie that had a political purpose, in this case a documentary "Hillary: The Movie" that was intended to highlight Mrs. Clinton's shortcomings the first time she was running for president.
The email from Public Citizen was urging me to donate money to support their production of a documentary DVD highlighting how bad the Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United was.
That's right: a 501(c)(4) corporation made a movie with the express political purpose of protesting the Supreme Court decision that a 501(c)(4) corporation could make a movie with an express political purpose!
With absolutely no awareness of the burning irony.

Newsom sticks the bill from his UI corrupted spending during covid on California businesses.
Chef Andrew Gruel
@ChefGruel
We just ran payroll. The payroll taxes were 2K higher than calculated. We called the payroll company. They explained (in summary) that California has a budget shortfall, and the federal government wants money back that it lent California for UI that it "lost." They are making up for it by having business owners pay it. Keep in mind that it was around 10% of our total payroll. When people say, "Why isn't California business-friendly?" remember this.
LincolnHillsFrau
@bayareahausfrau
Yes,
@GavinNewsom
defaulted on an $18 Billion loan that was taken out because of the losses California suffered due to fraudulent covid UE claims.
Gavin, instead of any attempt to recover the $32 B I L L I O N, decided to stick it to every CA business owner at $400 per employee.
Newsom has to be, without doubt, the greasiest, slimiest politician around today. And that’s saying something with JB Pritzker around.
I am honestly surprised that his greasy hair hasn't offended his own party.
Didn't the American Rescue Plan include hundreds of billions of dollars to states that they used to pay for shortfalls that happened before COVID (like absurdly generous pension plans for public sector employees)? So CA didn't use any of it for the UI shortfall? As long as teachers can retire with $100,000+ per year pensions, who cares if businesses get fucked over?

Like The View's audience sees this and hits the fainting couch at what a censorious dictatorship Trump has turned the country into (replete with younger dudes reveling in the pwnage) while everyone else is like Mannie from TMIAHM: "Are two types of jokes. One sort goes on being funny forever. Other sort is funny once. Second time it's dull."
Second time it’s dull.
I don't know about that. To this day, I'll watch Norm fucking with Barb and laugh my head off. Maybe it's just Norm.
Are two types of jokes.

Should change their name to “The Democratic Misinformation View”. At least there’d be some truth in advertising there.
Would it not be easier and cheaper to just fire her?
For an alleged lawyer, she has a problem not violating the law wildly.
She should just do what professional athletes sometimes do and just do whatever she wants and pay a fee at the end. Though I guess the disclaimer is a form of fee/penalty.
I assume this will just be a regular segment on the show for the next 4 years.
They could have it sponsored. “Now for today’s Sonny Hostin Legal Note, brought to you by…”
Preferably a drug for mental illness. That would be funny.
If she keeps doing it, it makes a defamation case much more likely to win. Repeated pattern of behavior.
I know, I know, Sonny is (D)ifferent. Still though, it would be nice to see the beotches of the view popped for cash for defamation, in court.
—but Trump has, in particular, vowed a purging of deep state enemies within the DOJ, repeatedly affirming that he intends to put an end to the lawfare that’s victimized him.
This, in particular, is why many of us voted for him. Trump wasn’t the only victim of Democrat lawfare.
(Jack Phillips has entered the chat)
Remember when Clinton got rid of all the DOJ attournies when he took office. But that was (D)ifferent
Trump won't get shit done. The swamp will swallow him whole lmfao

Has anyone ever seen David Hogg and Greta Thunberg at the same time?
Come to think of it, no. It’s never been confirmed that David Hogg has balls, much less a dick.
Oh he has dick all right, just not his own.
The conduct report of sarcs favorite Capitol officer is released showing multiple gun related misconduct.
https://justthenews.com/accountability/hldcop-who-shot-j6-protestor-has-lengthy-disciplinary-record-mishandled-firearms
Huh. I thought sarc hates cops?
He does, except for when they shoot trespassers at close range. Then Sarc loves them.
I'm still confused. Is it okay or is it not okay to shoot unarmed trespassers in the face?
I guess we’ll just have to ask Sarc.
When sarc or Lying Jeffy are screeching about “teams” or “tribes”, they’re projecting.
Sarc’s been on this site proclaiming his hatred for cops every chance he gets for decades, then one day a cop murders a Trump supporter and he cheers it with glee.
This. Even went out of his way to defend him saying he couldn't see babbit. Literally defending a blind shoot.
His Trump obsession even supersedes his cop obsession.
Karma.

BREAKING: Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's assistant robbed, attacked by an illegal immigrant with 5 arrests since 2023.
He's a Venezuelan TDA gang member.
Oh, and taxpayers paid for his hotel.
Too bad he wasn't raped and murdered. Then MSNBC could write an article about how the poor immigrant didn't stand a chance at trial.
Yeah, it is honestly too bad he wasn't deleted.
I missed something, did MSNBC try and protect the illegal who killed Riley in Georgia or something?

God, I hope when Comcast spins them off, their stocks don't sell and they go tits up like they deserve.
I want to go on record as being raped by Pam Bondi in college. I don't remember where or when it happened, nor can I name any corroborating witnesses. But it happened and now I am too scared to fly so don't ask me to come to DC to testify. Besides, I am too busy flying around the world on vacation.
I will second that, only I will drop all chargers for a date with her.
But democrats did it first, so it’s ok.
It's remarks like that that got you muted by JesseAZ.
We'll give you her personal calendar for those years, then you can tell us the date it happened.
How many front doors do you have at your house?
you wish you were raped by her
Yup. Once you let a strange, drunk chick talk you into Bondi-age you know you’re fixin’ to get raped. Or robbed, or murdered…..
Anyway, it seems to always be a bad idea in the movies…… so I have no choice but to deem this accusation “credible”.
Hey Liz,
You have repeatedly pitched subscribing to your new JAQ channel. You have alluded to benefits to yourself and presumably Zach, but you have never explained why those of us in the great unwashed should bother subscribing.

How many times will you guys fall for government propaganda?
Can you please include the fact the "scandal" was initiated by a dem operative who is currently in federal prison for making up rape stories, pay chicks to testify, and then extorting the targets? Gayez said no to him. There is no scandal
Yeah. The 2nd witness is also connected to Greenberg and the other 2 witnesses he is funding.
The Venmo payments democrats keep bringing up also show the first payment was when the woman was 18.
This guy Gaetz it.

Crime isn't down, the fbi admitted to lying about the stats to help team d
Worked like a charm, didn’t it?
It is easier to lie to people then convince them they have been lied to.
Lying about crime stats only works if you live in an enclave. Thanks to inflation that the chatter class is remarkably immune from, fewer people can afford to live in enclaves.
It’s way harder to lie to people who see reality regularly in the course of their daily life.
Reporting of crimes is down, which is the same thing, right?
but Trump has, in particular, vowed a purging of deep state enemies within the DOJ, repeatedly affirming that he intends to put an end to the lawfare that's victimized him.
Get rid of people who weaponize government against their political enemies? Yes please!
I want to see Bondi prosecute prominent democrats for their crimes. Shouldn’t be hard. There is no shortage of democrats who have engaged in at least a little ‘light treason’.
So long as Republicans don't scuttle the process, estimates of how long rescheduling cannabis could take range from six months to two years."
Should be 6 hours to 2 days. This has been the easiest, most obvious political move for roughly a decade. Ridiculous.
They’re assuming the statutory procedures for administrative scheduling are followed. Lots of reports and hearings. Or Congress could simply amend the schedules or other provisions of Title 21 USC, and the president sign it, very fast.
"Trump has, in particular, vowed a purging of deep state enemies within the DOJ, repeatedly affirming that he intends to put an end to the lawfare that's victimized him."
Should he not?
Locker rooms and places where people are nude are a different story. But women's bathrooms are literally all stalls.
I've been saying that for years.
If you have a dick, you can’t use the ladies room. It’s simple.
This isn't a hill I'm willing to die on, but generally if you look like you belong in the bathroom, and you go in, do your thing, and leave, that doesn't bother me. Changing rooms are a different story. Little five year old Sally doesn't need to see your cock.
Tolerance of one thing is what leads to demands to accept the other, or else. We wouldn’t have female-only massage parlors getting hammered by blue state governments for kicking out trannies flouncing around withe euphoria boners otherwise. Or freaks like Jonathan Yaniv suing gyms and massage parlors for not letting him indulge his disgusting AGP fetish. Or Jack Phillips getting his business threatened because he won't make a cake for a mentally ill freak who's a malicious litigator.
It absolutely is a hill to die on because of that slippery slope. Keep in mind this shit all kicked off in the first place with the NC bathroom bill that led the NCAA to cancel its tournament there. Shit like this is what led to corporate-enforced wokism, and it needs to end, no matter how much these mentally ill shitheads demand that we indulge their delusions.
It absolutely is a hill to die on because of that slippery slope. Keep in mind this shit all kicked off in the first place with the NC bathroom bill that led the NCAA to cancel its tournament there.
[tilts hand]
Again, you can't say "2 men are equal to 1 man and 1 woman" without saying "a man equals a woman" or atomically (as in, initiating a chain reaction that vaporizes everything for miles) redefining 'equal'.
Ironically, it’s actually the dogma of the feminists themselves that has come back to bite them on the trans issue. For decades they’ve been telling us that the differences between the sexes are a social construct and any outcomes that are collectively favorable to men are clear evidence of society’s innate discrimination against women. Well, the the trannies took the feminists up on the whole “social construct” part and are cashing a check on an account the TERFs don’t want to see drawn on.
Score one for slippery slopes.
^ yup. Feminism is definitely ground zero of trans ideology.
Little five year old Sally needs a changing room?
At the public pool or whatever.
Right? How dare someone with a five year old want to use a pool, or participate in any events that require changing into uniforms or costumes outside of their own home if it will interfere with mentally ill men’s ability to show their penis to little girls!
I hope you know the difference between a changing room and a bathroom, and what five year olds need. I personally have never noticed changing rooms outside bathrooms and for that purpose only, and maybe they do exist. Or maybe I am just too damned old-fashioned to understand changing room no longer means diapers. Are dressing rooms in clothing stores now called changing rooms?
JFC!
Yes, dressing room = changing room. Other synonyms include 'greenroom', 'fitting room', and 'locker room'. I would post a link to a thesaurus but I think that might be too intellectually challenging for you - unless you are just being purposely obtuse to pretend you had a point about 5 year-olds not needing one.
“unless you are just being purposely obtuse to pretend you had a point about 5 year-olds not needing one.”
Ding ding ding.
Shrike insists he knows ‘what five year olds need’.
Yeah, whipping your dick out in the changing rooms but, somehow, not whipping your dick out while you're in the restrooms, using the presence or absence of stalls (which they both generally have) as a stalking horse or red herring, is why we don't listen to confused retards like you.
The "This is not a hill to die on" is why the progressives own the culture.
There are few hills they WON'T die on.
I will die on this hill. I am not going to humor delusions.
Better to make democrats die.
The Law of Merited Impossibility
The coinage is Rod Dreher’s and goes back to the early debates on homosexual marriage. As Dreher formulates it, the Law of Merited Impossibility holds: “That will never happen, and when it does, boy will you [homophobes, transphobes, racists, sexists, whatever] deserve it.”
This Law is used, first, to disarm resistance to the latest leftist enthusiasm. Whatever the innovation is, it will have no adverse consequences. None! Puberty blockers and disfiguring surgeries have no downsides whatsoever. How dare you suggest they might!
Its second purpose is to dismiss out of hand “slippery slope” arguments—despite, or because of, the fact that every single such argument over the last twenty years at least has proved true. Worried that allowing people to “self-identify” as whatever sex they want will lead to pervy 50-year-old men exposing themselves to’ tween girls? Insist, loudly and indignantly, that that will NEVER happen and anyone who suggests it might is an alarmist bigot with a heart full of hate.
The third purpose is to enforce the new caste system. Those who get to impose fresh irrational indignities on the rest of us are the upper caste. Those who object, or even have reservations, are lower. The latter are not allowed to harbor, much less express, any doubts. Whatever humiliation the upper caste has planned for us, we deserve and must meekly accept. Hence when said pervy 50-year-old actually does start waving around “her” equipment in the girls’ locker room, if any parent dares object, let ’em have it with both barrels. That thing that ten seconds ago you said would “never” happen? Now it’s righteous punishment for the retrograde.
Its second purpose is to dismiss out of hand “slippery slope” arguments—despite, or because of, the fact that every single such argument over the last twenty years at least has proved true.
Why shouldn't it prove true? If you accept a premise, logic dictates you accept its conclusions. As I say above, if the feminists want to assert that sex differences are a social construct, they've essentially made the case for the trannies to use women's bathrooms.
Okay, so for all the people who claim they are "willing to die on that hill", then I'll expect you to come up with a way to enforce this law, with some actual teeth. Officer Friendly at the bathroom door doing crotch grabs? What do you have in mind?
Massive shaming and repulsion should be sufficient for now. “Get the fuck out of the women’s room, you freak” will mitigate most law enforcement responses, as it did before trooning out became a lefty status symbol.
Oh, okay. So we don't need any laws to enforce bathroom behavior then. That is what you are saying, right?
The law is for when the mentally ill freak won't leave, then you call the cops and they treat it like any normal trespassing violation.
So again, no new laws needed here. If anyone has overstayed his/her welcome on private property, then the property owner has the legal authority to kick that person out. Why do you need some law to regulate bathroom spaces specifically?
If there has been one benefit of the 'trans' issue, it has been to show how completely intellectually and morally bankrupt leftist defenders are.
I would agree, though, that no new laws are needed - just a return to the 'old' (i.e. more than 5 minutes ago) laws where a male entering a female-only private space would be arrested and charged with public indecency.
Lying Jeffy’s really just trying to justify fucking kids.
He is orally fixated.
just a return to the ‘old’ (i.e. more than 5 minutes ago) laws where a male entering a female-only private space would be arrested and charged with public indecency.
Can you share the statute you're referring to?
Mac, he’s been doing that here for years. Whether it’s cash aligning the presence of child predator illegals here, or trying to stop laws that prevent government schools from sexualizing 5-8 year old children, Pedo Jeffy is always on the predator friendly side.
I’d start by throwing you in a pit of snakes.
I didn’t even know that you can eat snakes.
Lol.
Rattlesnakes make it to a few menus here.
Tall, well-groomed, looks like a cop, might eat rattlesnakes.
Uhm no, he doesn't deserve the same death as Ragnar Lothbrok. Blood Eagle?
Too inefficient. More than one of his kind can be thrown into the same pit.
Good luck finding a snake pit that will fit, R Mac. Like fitting a beach ball into a putting hole.
There’s a lot of gravel pits near my house we could use.
You should be looking at canyons.
Grand idea.
Probably the same way we enforce other laws. Once someone has broken one, and a complaint is made, police will try to find the offender, arrest him (or her as the case may be), provide the charges, then hand them over to the DA for prosecution.
if you look like you belong in the bathroom, and you go in, do your thing, and leave, that doesn’t bother me.
I'm with you on this. Looking at the pic of McBride in the linked article, I'd be a little uncomfortable seeing her(?) in the mens room. She should be free to live the life she wants. And DE elected her to congress. So which bathroom should she use?
Lice theirnlife against the wishes of others living their life?
Huh?
There are no chicks with dicks, just dudes with boobs.
Has McBride had a johnsonectomy or is (s)he still sporting a 6" clit?
Take it you missed the video of the troon putting his phone under a stall to record the woman next to him?
If the bathroom is in your personal house or business you own, you make the rules. Otherwise, fuck off.
The problem is it's not enforceable. It's not practical. With certain people you'd never know. Let's say we do make a law "public bathrooms for this/that sex only" How do you actually enforce it?
The problem is it’s not enforceable. It’s not practical.
This doesn't even make sense. Pure "The perfect doesn't exist, ergo nothing can exist." nihilist-sophist idiocy.
You are unable to enforce the rules in your own house? The government is unable to enforce rules protecting private property? The government is unable to enforce rules on property it controls?
Jefferey Epstein died in custody so laws against murder are unenforceable!
Just because you're willing to retard yourself to facilitate others' idiocy doesn't mean the rest of us have to. Fuck off, slaver.
Like a lot of laws, you enforce it when there's a problem. Which isn't ideal, but what are you going to do?
In that case, why not make it a law to mandate everyone eat broccoli? Sure it's not enforceable, no one will be checking, but how could you object to people eating broccoli??????
What a stupid analogy. No honest person would make it.
Jeffy is both the king of stupid analogies and lies.
He’s desperately flailing since he found out Trump will soon be his lord and master. So let’s keep pushing him.
How about laws forcing people to wear masks in public to protect people who don't eat broccoli?
To add to that, let's not allow people to go to hospitals if they don't eat broccoli. They wouldn't have gotten so sick if they just ate their broccoli like a good little boy.
Everyone with a bear in their trunk has to feed it so much broccoli every week. Not sure what amount that would be. Have to defer to bear in trunk experts.
I bought some broccoli when I went grocery shopping last week. Threw it in the trunk with the rest of my stuff.
Well, tragically, I think we all know what happened next….
Because no one cares if you don't eat broccoli. Lots of people care about men in the women's room.
I would like to think that a law is not necessary. But if people are going to build whole identities around obnoxious activism for weird shit, people are going to react.
Rapists don't dress up like broccoli and hang around places where women pull down their panties.
I really don't think we need a law for this. If you own the bathroom, you make the rules. The government building managers can make their own bathroom rules and leave the rest of us alone. A bathroom law that works for NYC, might not be a great fit in Quicktown, PA.
I'm not necessarily calling for a law, just saying that's how it would be enforced.
I kinda figured based on your previous comments.
Disagree completely. One of the legitimate uses of government is to ensure laws exist to protect safety of individuals. A private property owner is not able to decide that assault can legally occur on their property.
Historically, women being forced to expose themselves or to witness a male exposing himself has been treated as a form of sexual assault - at minimum it would be public indecency the same as flashing, peeping, etc. Even in blue cities, these laws are still on the books. It is the government deciding that self-declaring a gender automatically negates the law that is the problem and, as we have seen, opens the door wide for predators to take advantage.
This is the hill we should die on.
We already have laws against public indecency. And you can use a bathroom without flashing or assaulting anyone. Are you really saying a property owner is liable for someone being assaulted in their bathrooms? It's trivially easy for a man, whether or not he's dressed as a woman, to go into a women's room and assault someone whether or not there is a law.
Now, I'm not saying that a creep who takes advantage of a situation to go be pervy in the ladies room shouldn't face social and legal sanctions. But it's a bit of a leap to say that providing unisex bathroom facilities is sanctioning (let alone legalizing) assault on their property.
No - I am saying that a property owner can't override laws protecting an individual's rights. As a gym owner, I can't say 'males can enter the female locker room and, as long as they say they are a woman, they won't be subject to public indecency laws'. This is a violation of the rights of the females using their property.
'Laws don't prevent crime' is pure sophistry and not worth addressing. The 'unisex facilities' argument is motte and bailey. Single-person unisex bathrooms and changing rooms are not the point of controversy, it is the sanctioning of males in spaces intended to provide privacy and safety for females simply by the male waving the 'gender identity' magic wand which is being fought over.
Then I guess where I disagree is in assuming that there is inherent indecency involved in sharing a bathroom.
I'm not saying there shouldn't be sex segregated toilets. That's what most people want and there are good reasons for it. I just don't think property owners should be obliged to provide it (just as I don't think they should be forced to provide wheelchair ramps, tampon dispensers or baby changing tables), let alone be presumed to be sanctioning indecent assaults. If you don't like the facilities, don't use them.
"Then I guess where I disagree is in assuming that there is inherent indecency involved in sharing a bathroom."
Tell me your not female without telling me your not female. 🙂
Although feminists have tried to brainwash us out of it (but only when it comes to the trans issue), the reality of being a woman is having a constant, sub-conscious awareness of our physical vulnerability to unwanted sexual behavior (including voyeurism and exhibitionism) when around men. This is heightened when in a space where that unwanted behavior can occur more easily because we have an expectation of privacy.
The argument for trans use of bathrooms seems to rest entirely on society forgetting that non-consensual voyeurism and exhibitionism are, in fact, a form of sexual assault.
Made me think of an episode of Timcast recently where they were talking about feminists. I forget the exact context, but it was basically a comment about feminists acting like they are taking control, and that in reality women only have power if men allow them to.
Because if men don’t want women to have power, they can punch them in the face, and that’s the end of it. They used Iran as a good example. In the 70’s, women in Iran were similar to women in the west. When the Islamist took over they decided that women no linger had any power, or even freedom. And there wasn’t a damn thing the women could do. Because those men are willing to punch women in the face. The end.
If someone passes and doesn't cause a problem, no one cares. If someone complains and you're in the wrong bathroom, you get charged. It's enforceable where it matters.
This so stupid. the Old rules didn’t do ANYTHING for the people who were close enough to not raise suspicion. The bathroom laws “allowing” people to use the bathroom they identify with made it so those who were OBVIOUSLY not the right sex could not be stopped or removed.
No one was demanding crotch checks. They just didn’t want obviously male creeps in the ladies room. The soy boy who dresses convincingly like an ugly teen girl isn’t the one raising suspicions.
There shouldn't be regulations about how private businesses handle their restrooms in the first place. The entire purpose of having a restroom at the supermarket or Chick-Fil-A is because it's courteous to your customers. It makes it more comfortable to go inside knowing you can spend time there and not have to leave suddenly if you realize you need to relieve yourself.
That's the reason they're incentivized to keep them clean and operating properly. A restroom that is clean, doesn't stink, has plenty of paper towels and soap is appealing. You appreciate walking into those, whereas if there's a puddle on the floor, the sink is dripping, and they only have one of those old-style air dryers that barely putters out, your impression of the business suffers.
The reason to have distinct male/female restrooms is because that's the social norm and it appeals to people. People actually do feel more comfortable in gender-separate spaces. If a business owner wanted, they could build multiple single unisex restrooms. It wouldn't be as efficient, but if there was sufficient customer demand for this type of set-up, it would be more appealing to their customers than the alternative.
So when you're looking at where the "rights" are, I don't recognize that anyone has a right to use a gender-specific restroom anywhere. The rights being affected are the property rights of the business owner to administer how their restrooms are utilized. And generally, they don't want to deal with this, they just want a policy in which people aren't disruptive and pass for whatever gender uses that restroom. If someone is lingering around a restroom and making people uncomfortable, kick them out. They don't really want someone who is clearly a man walking into the restroom and making women uncomfortable, but if all he does is do his business, wash his hands, and leave, by the time anyone complains, he's already out the door and the disruption is over.
If it ultimately becomes such a big issue for their customers, they should have the right to put an employee at the restroom to be a bathroom monitor, and to direct people to whatever restroom they generally pass as. If it offends a trans male that uses male pronouns but is very clearly a female in the physical sense, let them complain, as long as the owner has the right to throw them out if they're disruptive. Property rights uber alles.
Aren't there laws *requiring* restaurants to have bathrooms? If so, it isn't just a courtesy.
There shouldn’t be. That’s my point. Property rights.
We don't have single-sex spaces such as restrooms because it is the social norm. We have them as an acknowledgement that males are statistically more violent and predatory then females and that females are statistically biologically weaker and more vulnerable to predators than males.
The 'rights' being violated when males are allowed (whether by law or by the property owner) into female spaces are an individual's right to bodily autonomy and physical safety, which libertarians should see as inherent and overriding property rights.
And men are also statistically more likely to cave a rapist’s face in than women are. If we lived in a society where public bathrooms were gender neutral, you’d have men policing other men if there were assaults going on in the restroom. Men are more likely to take action, and those actions are not all evil. Casting this as a rule to keep all the wicked men in control is ignoring that men also want women to be protected.
It’s a matter of comfort and social norms. Business owners should be allowed to enforce whatever policy is optimal for the comfort of their customers.
And when there's only the perv/rapist in the bathroom and a dearth of cavaliers?
> ... So when you’re looking at where the “rights” are, I don’t recognize that anyone has a right to use a gender-specific restroom anywhere. The rights being affected are the property rights of the business owner to administer how their restrooms are utilized...
Well and cogently stated!
Pharma Paid $1.06 Billion to Reviewers at Top Medical Journals
https://publichealthpolicyjournal.com/pharma-paid-1-06-billion-to-reviewers-at-top-medical-journals/
The pharmaceutical industry paid $1.06 billion to reviewers at top medical journals between 2020 and 2022, according to a research letter published last week in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
Payments to peer reviewers for The BMJ, JAMA, The Lancet and The New England Journal of Medicine included $1 billion to individuals or their institutions for research and $64.18 million in general payments, including travel and meals. Consulting fees and speaking compensation accounted for $34.31 million and $11.80 million respectively.
Among the nearly 2,000 physician peer reviewers analyzed, more than half received at least one industry payment between 2020 and 2022.
Although conflicts of interest among journal editors and authors have been investigated, the study authors wrote, any conflicts of interest the peer reviewers may have have been harder to assess.
“The traditionally opaque nature” of peer review has hindered the evaluation of peer reviewers, “despite their crucial role in academic publishing,” the authors wrote.
We need these Covid powers or you'll kill Grandma.

FIRST READING: Quebec tells doctors to start ignoring federal homicide laws
A new MAID practice veers into culpable homicide, so they're simply ordering prosecutors to look the other way
https://nationalpost.com/opinion/first-reading-quebec-tells-doctors-to-start-ignoring-federal-homicide-laws
Last year, the Quebec legislature adopted Bill 11, which aimed to allow physicians to administer MAID to unresponsive or mentally incompetent patients, provided that the patient had given “advance” authorization to do so.
This is considered murder under federal law, so Quebec announced this week it will simply be instructing its prosecutors to ignore the relevant sections of the Criminal Code governing culpable homicide....
They made a big mistake by not letting democrats do it first. Then it would be ok.
As usual, Quebec goes off and does its own damn thing.
Logan’s Run is not far behind.
You know, we keep getting corrected for the "slippery slope fallacy", but I'll be d**ned if we don't keep slipping down those slopes.
Or maybe the entire claim of a "slippery slope fallacy" isn't all it's cracked up to be and once you've accepted a premise to reach a desired conclusion, you've accepted that premise for all of the other conclusions it suggests, whether you like it or not.
See my comment above on The Law of Merited Impossibility
“That will never happen, and when it does, boy will you [homophobes, transphobes, racists, sexists, whatever] deserve it.”
Logically it is a fallacy, but it's still a useful heuristic. It's just stupid when people point out the fallacy and thing that that puts the argument to rest. The fact that there is a slippery slope doesn't necessarily mean that we will slide down it. But if we're going to slide down, that's where it's going to happen (to torture the metaphor a bit).
It's strange to me how many of the popular modern claims of fallacy seem focused on getting people to never question the premises of offered arguments. If a premise leads to obviously wrong conclusions, it's only sane to question the premise. It's in a similar vain to "whataboutism". If a thousand iterations of something aren't a problem and the thousand and first is, it only makes sense to question the standards by which the thousand and first is deemed a problem.
You say just because there's a slippery slope doesn't mean we will slide down it. But, if we've already agreed, in principle, that we should slide down the slope, it's pretty hard for me to see where we eventually won't.
A lot of the activists complaining about slippery slope arguments against their demands are already engaged in a full-speed head-first dive down the slope.
I'm speaking generally. In cases like you are talking about, it's kind oif beyond a slippery slope argument and into "this is what's actually happening".
It’s not a formal logical fallacy if the logic is equitably applied.
The real slippery slope fallacy is the cause and effect slippery slope – if we allow this, then that obviously will happen. It’s the Music Man’s “We’ve got trouble!” Song… or the Dish Network commercials.
Using someone’s logic to show how it applies to something no one wants is not a slippery slope fallacy. It’s an appropriate use to demonstrate the weakness of a logical argument. Much of what is claimed to be slippery slope fallacy isn’t that at all.
The logic in the obergefell case can legitimately be applied to incestual relationships between adults. With Obergefell, there can be no law against incest because those relationships meet all the criteria deemed important by Obergefell. That’s not a slippery slope.
You can say damned here.
This is a good point, on the topic of the ongoing battle between Rep. Nancy Mace (R–S.C.) and incoming Rep. Sarah McBride (D–Del.), who is transgender. (Relatedly.)
Yeah, no shit, Liz. It’s been a good point that gets ‘Republicans Pounce!’ screeched at it since it climbed out of the primordial soup “Transgender Bathroom Panic” that this very magazine participated in.
The same goes for “It’s only 0.01% of the population, why do you care?” and “Business owners and property rights applies to well more than 0.01% of the population. The question is, if it’s really only 0.01% of the population, why do *you* care?” One side broadly doesn't care 99.99+% of the time. The other side wants to leverage the 0.01% to fuck around with the other 99.99, tell them what to do, and impugn them for having the gall to even question their authority.
I care since 0.01% of populations is forcing itself on the rest of the population and their children and costing everyone millions of dollars to accommodate people who can't even accept themselves
MSNBC headline saying 'Laken Riley's killer never stood a chance' sparks backlash: 'Absolutely sickening'
https://www.foxnews.com/media/msnbc-headline-laken-rileys-killer-never-chance-sparks-backlash-absolutely-sickening
The defense did the best it could with bad facts.
“Bad facts”? Is this a fact that doesn’t align with the current narrative?
I’m sure Sarc can clarify for the rest of us.
https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-abc-reporter-twists-himself-into-pretzels-trying-to-blame-trump-for-laken-riley
“This death of Laken Riley and the subsequent trial has essentially been a massive political lightning rod here in this country,” he began, adding, “The president-elect campaigning on the death of Laken Riley and pointing to the current administration, saying that their laws and what they’re calling ‘failed policies’ contributed to Laken Riley’s death.”
“It’s important to note that although there is very little evidence indicating a connection between immigration and violent crime, this is still something the — uh — President-elect Trump, several Republicans on the Hill, wanted to essentially plant their flag on and point that to the current Biden administration,”
At the time, Biden responded by mispronouncing Riley’s name while attempting to acknowledge her tragic murder at the hands of an illegal immigrant — and later apologized for using the term “illegal.”
Xavier Becerra, current Secretary of the HHS has no answers for why migrant child sponsors are listing strip clubs as home addresses.
January 20th can't come fast enough.

Denver's Howdy Doody-looking mayor is threatening an armed response from Denver police if Homan starts deporting his precious Third World peon labor and Venezualan gang members.
I honestly hope he tries it, because I'd love to see his melon explode from progress at 2500 fps.
Denver mayor is essentially threatening violence, a civil war. he may end hiring those same illegal gangs to defend illegals from our government.
Hiring? Hell, they're already sponsored. The City of Denver is paying for their housing and welfare.
Damn right Johnston is freaked out, he's about to lose his peon wards that he needs to keep the revolution advancing. He and his claque in Denver will absolutely authorize the gang members to start shooting at federal troops trying to enforce immigration laws.
I never noticed before. He looks exactly like that puppet.
Rep. Tom Tiffany
@RepTiffany
HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra cannot answer why he placed unaccompanied children with sponsors whose address was a strip club.
He also cannot explain why he allowed them to be pimped out by individuals with no family ties to them.
This is a sickening failure of oversight.
"U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could not monitor the location and status of all unaccompanied migrant children (UCs) or initiate removal proceedings as needed. During our ongoing audit to assess ICE’s ability to monitor the location and status of UCs who were released or transferred from the custody of the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), we learned ICE transferred more than 448,000 UCs to HHS from fiscal years 2019 to 2023. However, ICE was not able to account for the location of all UCs who were released by HHS and did not appear as scheduled in immigration court," an Inspector General report released in August details.
The Gaetz nomination was probably squashed by Thune, McConnell, Collins, et al. Bondi seems to be more of a conventional Republican compared to the libertarian-leaning/populist Gaetz. The Left will never admit it but they would’ve been better off with Gaetz.
This also once again shows the weakness of libertarians in this country. We’re able to team up with MAGA conservatives to help block Pompeo but were not able to get a hashtag movement together push someone like say Napolitano or hell even Mike Lee. Just weak.
I've heard that Gaetz is a big fan of FTC head Lena Khan.
I'm pretty sure Gaetz prefers watching himself on Beavis and Butthead.
To what?
You said t-wat
huh huh huh huh
"We’re able to team up with MAGA conservatives to help block Pompeo..."
This isn't actually happening, this is some Angela McArdle level fantasy. Pretending that our ever-shifiting, uncontrollable, unpredictable, ~2-3% spoilage can be used as a bargaining chip (much less a cudgel) is a joke. The tallest dwarf still can't see over the edge of the table (or be seen).
"This isn’t actually happening,"
Except it did. Unless we're pretending that Donald Trump didn't show up at the LNC and or that Musk, Ramaswamy, and Trump Jr. haven't engaged with libertarians.
No we're certainly seen. If libertarians weren't being seen then the GOP would have zero contact with us. The problem isn't that were unseen, the problem is that libertarians are a disorganized weak mess. With "intellectual" leadership that prefers to hide in liberal statist bubbles.
"Unless we’re pretending that Donald Trump didn’t show up at the LNC"
What happened next though? He was soundly booed, and in a fit of pique he berated Libertarians as losers.
And somehow this translates into blocking Pompeo? LOL. LOFL.
And then he turned around and reached out to Ron Paul and is hanging out with Javier Milei. So maybe he's actually engaging with libertarian ideas just a little bit.
We're only a small percentage of the electorate, but if the margins in swing states are still around 2%, then it makes sense for the major parties to try to reach out. And when you get a candidate who is actually reaching out, it's powerful for your voters to spend that political capitol and vote in that direction. I think it's meaningful that libertarian voters who cast ballots for Gary Johnson in 2016 and Jo Jorgensen in 2020 casted ballots for Trump in 2024. And it seems indisputable that this happened since the LP went from 3.3% to 0.4%.
And you know the majority of that shifting margin went to Trump. Even if Trump's administration ends up being a disaster, the fact that Trump is going through the libertarian motions is a signal. If he's horrible on libertarian issues and we get a good LP candidate in '28, the margins may shift again, and we're still using voting as a signaling mechanic.
And also, while LP gets somewhere between 0-3% of the vote, I think that the number for small-l libertarian and adjacent views is probably closer to 10%.
This year it was 0.4% of the presidential vote. Chase Oliver finished 5th, continuing a dramatic plummet of libertarian fortunes since 2016. I'm not sure if this because he was a terrible candidate or 2016 was a fluke.
Both.
There are two kinds of data - qualitative and quantitative. If you only rely on quantitative, you miss out on a great deal. Most of life is lived out qualitatively.
Napolitano would be great but leave Lee in the Senate. I'd also through Willet into the mix but I'm hoping he gets the next SCOTUS opening.
Jews and gay people should hide identity in ‘Arab neighbourhoods’, says Berlin police chief
Barbara Slowik says some residents are openly hostile towards Jews and ‘have sympathies for terrorist groups’
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/11/18/jews-gay-people-hide-identity-arab-areas-germany/
Jews and gay people should hide their identity in parts of Berlin with large Arab populations, the German capital’s police chief has warned.
“There are areas of the city, we need to be perfectly honest here, where I would advise people who wear a kippah or are openly gay to be more careful,” said Barbara Slowik.
“There are certain neighbourhoods where the majority of people of Arab origin live, who also have sympathies for terrorist groups,” she said, adding that they were often “openly hostile towards Jews”.
Misek approves.
Followed by J(ew)free and misconstrueman.
who wear a kippah or are openly gay
The struggle to make one of these things that's not like the other, like the other, continues to be schadenfreude.
Did you see Not the Bee that some idiot proggies are upset Netflix cast a Jewish female to play Mary? They actually think Mary and Jesus were Palestinians. Uhm Palestinians are Arabs, and most Arabs did not enter the Levant until the 11th Century after the Islamic invasion of the Byzantine empire.
I think a lot of modern Palestinians are descended from ancient semitic populations of the Levant. But so are Jews, Samaritans, etc. And Mary and Jesus in the Bible are explicitly Jewish (obviously). What a strange complaint.
What a strange complaint.
Dude, they complained when Scarlet Johannson and Joel Kinneman played explicitly white, European characters in fiction set in Asia. When they recast Ariel as a black mermaid and Snow White with olive skin, they got mad when people complained.
Again, again, they don't care about your issue or your race or your culture or your fiction. They care about fucking with you and distracting you from the fact that they have an existential need to fuck with you.
Maybe, but a large percentage of Palestinians are also Arabic, who are late comers to the Levant, hell the Greeks and Romans had been there almost a Millennium before the Arabs entered in large numbers. Yes, there is undoubtedly some Levant heritage, from intermarriage and such, but speaking historically, the Palestinians, Jordanians, Syrians, Egyptians, are actually fairly recent invaders to the areas they now claim. At the time of Christ's birth, the Arabic people were largely nomadic traders and raiders on the Arabian Peninsula. The complaint is actually based upon an anti-Semitic trope actually pushed by the Nazis, and many white Supremacist groups since then, that the Jewish people aren't the actual Jewish people mentioned in the Bible. That, per the trope, they are white Europeans who converted to Judaism, or Turkish nomads who converted to Judaism (this latter one actually has some historical basis but twisted, as one of the nomadic people that invaded the southern mid Eurasian steppe had converted to Judaism, but they were largely conquered by subsequent Turkish groups that converted to Islam and the DNA ancestry shows little to no Turkish ancestry in most Modern Israelis).
There was also a "science" article (really an article about an actual peer reviewed paper on mDNA of Ashkenazi Jews) that many of these morons have misinterpreted (it doesn't help that the journalist writing the article didn't know shit about what they were writing about and completely misinterpreted the original papers findings). The original study found that a large percentage of the mDNA of Ashkenazi Jews was central and Eastern European, largely Slavic. But, mDNA is limited only to the maternal line, and further, your mDNA is completely different from the rest of your DNA, because the mitochondria started out as a separate organism that was absorbed by early single cell organisms, and eventually was incorporated but still separate from the DNA of the host cell. Several other papers have shown that the Ashkenazi are also semitic, in addition to their European ancestry. Even the original paper stated such and never contended otherwise. mDNA is helpful is studying long term patterns because mDNA changes more slowly than other forms of DNA (such as yDNA). Additionally, the original paper only found a majority but not all tested subjects mDNA was European, while the rest was largely Semitic too. Basically, rehashed Nazi race science.
This is a good point, on the topic of the ongoing battle between Rep. Nancy Mace (R–S.C.) and incoming Rep. Sarah McBride (D–Del.), who is transgender. (Relatedly.)
It's not a good point. It's never a good point. Not any more than this retarded tweet by progressive Minnesota congresscritter Dean Phillips:
"Pathetic.
What are you scared of, Nancy?"
https://twitter.com/deanbphillips/status/1858667281972125756
You know, she's a rape survivor, and doesn't want men in women's private spaces. And, she knows, even if you don't, that these mentally ill trannies are 253% more likely than 'normal' men to commit sexual violence. You know, like this guy in drag:
https://twitter.com/DogRightGirl/status/1858971872182104436
Muslims are 253% more likely to commit acts of terrorism. Therefore let’s kick Muslims off all airplanes. Sound good to you?
You talking about your fellow pedophile child rapists in Rotterham, chemfat?
Didn't see him advocating that. Can you point to where he did?
Or should we call sarc to yell at you about "WHATABOUTISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
So you’re comparing Muslims and sexual predators, Jeffy? What a bigot.
You're adopting white nationalist talking points now?
I'm making a point about generalizing among an entire class of people. If we are going to go down the road of making assumptions of entire groups based on the bad behavior of a few, then why stop at transgendered people? Why not let the full bigot freak flag fly?
And yet, you effectively compared Muslims and sexual predators, Islamophobic bigot.
Lying Jeffy coming completely unhinged is one of my favorite parts of this election.
Yeah, that’s the same, Fatfuck. You really are the king of disingenuous. Or maybe the queen.
Rural white male gun owners are 253% more likely to shoot up a school. Therefore let's keep all rural white male gun owners away from all schools. Sound good to you?
What sounds good is rejecting anything you advocate, especially after you came out in support of letting child molesters into the country.
Got a cite for that number you pulled out of your fat ass, bigot?
Nope. He’s lying. SURPRISE!
Random people, including rural white male gun owners, are already barred from entering schools. If you show up to a school without any business at that school, you'll be asked to leave.
Is this really the best analogy you can think of?
It's no 'bears in trunks', granted, but the day is young.
He’s already down for comparing Muslims and sexual predators below.
unreal
Rural white male gun owners are 253% more likely to shoot up a school. Therefore let’s keep all rural white male gun owners away from all schools. Sound good to you?
Who's gonna tell him?
Jeffery spo-oke, in class today.
You know, she’s a rape survivor, and doesn’t want men in women’s private spaces
Can we at least be reasonable and not pretend this is about rape?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YxOX9To8pA
You don’t think being raped might have an impact on a woman not wanting mentally ill men in the same bathroom as them?
We can't make laws to protect every psychologically damaged person from fear.
That is why tranny groomer sex offender story hour piñatas are legal.
So is it about rape or not, goalpost moving jeffsarc impersonator?
What goal posts have moved? It shouldn't be about rape.
Why not? And why do you have a problem allowing women and girls to have some privacy from men while in the bathroom?
Why not?
Because they are different issues.
And why do you have a problem allowing women and girls to have some privacy from men while in the bathroom?
I don't. I wouldn't argue against any bathroom owner keeping men out of their ladies' rooms. I just don't think any notion of limited government includes bathroom rule laws.
“Can we at least be reasonable and not pretend this is about rape?”
This is the comment I was responding to. It’s time for you to go away.
OK sorry if I read too much in to your comment, but I'll stay because I like the friendly debate here. Feel free to ute me since you're not in to the debates so much anyway.
Even at that, the Tweet:
https://x.com/ArmandDoma/status/1858914933347639500
Is a retarded own goal. Do you think that I think the person on the left shouldn't be in the women's restroom and the person on the right shouldn't be in the men's? Why or why not? No appeals to fake historical gender constructs or outwardly visible signs of greater or lesser physical capability or aggression, no references to ability to bear children or Y chromosomes. Explain to me, without any of that, how you determine to refer to the person on the left as Countess Elizabeth Báthory, or not, and the person on the right as Dr. Joseph Mengele, or not or that I'm incorrect in my choice to do so.
Because if you really don't care, you wouldn't be making such improbable selections and posting to Twitter about it. Retard.
This defies reason. Bathroom bills (by either party) only benefit one population: The trans people who *do not* pass. If they pass, then no one even notices and it is not an issue. This is only coming up because activists want bathroom access for people who *do not* pass.
The tiny fraction of people who are actually transgendered are not the real targets. If someone has had hormone therapy and surgery to change their outer sex appearance, they will not even be noticed.
The smaller fraction of transgendered men (passing or not) who want to use a men's bathroom are also not really the issue. Biological women in a men's room pose no significant threat to the men there regarding sexual assault. There are not a lot of "upskirt" photos taken in men's rooms.
The smaller fraction of transgendered women who pass are also probably not an issue...they pass, probably pee sitting down anyway and who's going to know what's going on in a stall?
The smaller fraction of transgendered women (biological men) who do NOT pass or don't even bother trying (call them group A) who want to use a women's bathroom are perhaps being unfairly asked to go along with society and use the men's room instead, in an effort to deny a safe haven to would-be rapists and other general skeevy perverts.
Any male pervert (call them group B) in a women's room for nefarious reasons can just say "Gender fluid. I identify as a woman a the moment." just to avoid any charges of peeping or waiting for a chance to rape.
It may not be possible to tell A from B by looking.
If the bathrooms and locker rooms are such a problem for transgendered folks, maybe the solution is to have all bathrooms and locker rooms be unisex from kindergarden on up and in all public places. REAL nondiscrimination in the bathroom.
Just let the football team and cheerleaders use the same locker room. Nothing bad could possibly happen there right?
Just let the football team and cheerleaders use the same locker room. Nothing bad could possibly happen there right?
More than a few blue movies start that way…
Starship Troopers here we come.
Many public buildings already have a unisex option built right in - the 'Family Assist' Restroom.
But the bills that [actual culture war] activists were pushing in various states the past several years, demanding trans-restroom-access, specifically excluded this accommodation as an option.
I recently saw a documentary about that on Cinemax.
who’s going to know what’s going on in a stall?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85nKdbX1NO4
The tiny fraction of people who are actually transgendered are not the real targets.
But they are the targets of this rule, because the rule doesn't say "only non-pervs can use the bathroom".
What if the rule had been, "Sadly, we have to ask Muslims to not travel via airplane, in order to deny a safe haven from the very small population of those who are terrorists and want to blow shit up. We hope you understand." Would this be acceptable?
A cynic might claim that this bathroom rule is using a mere pretext of "stopping pervy behavior" in order to try to force adoption of a conservative view of traditional gender norms. Is the cynic wrong?
Nice strawman, Jeffy. Compare Muslims with sexual predators. What other bigoted shit will you post next?
Nope. The analogy here is actually between terrorists and sexual predators. Unless you are trying to claim that all transgendered people are sexual predators?
Nope, it shows, to me at least, that you’re a closeted bigot who indulges in strawmen to make an argument in bad faith.
Actually, yes. But you are a dimwitted bad faith troll so I don't expect you to understand these things.
I’m not the bigot calling Muslims sexual predators. That would be you, Jeffy.
I'm not calling Muslims sexual predators. You on the other hand are calling transgendered people sexual predators.
You just compared them in your first post above. It’s a rather bigoted comparison no matter how you slice it, Jeffy.
Fine. I'll call ALL transgenders sexual predators. If you have a dick and are trying to access women/girl's spaces, you are a perv and you earned the violence perpetrated against you.
Endure enough violence and they'll be back to pissing in the men's room soon enough.
I have a wife and daughter. I've made my peace with the possible consequences.
Only a small number of drunk drivers will crash. Why make it illegal to drink and drive?
Actually, since you brought it up, I don't think 'drunk driving' per se should be a crime. What should be a crime is impaired driving, regardless of the driver's state of alcohol inebriation. That gets rid of sobriety checkpoints which violate everyone's Fourth Amendment rights and actually punishes people who can't drive responsibly even if they fall below some arbitrary BAC threshold.
Actually, since you brought it up, I don’t think ‘drunk driving’ per se should be a crime. What should be a crime is impaired driving, regardless of the driver’s state of alcohol inebriation.
Distinction without a difference.
No, it isn't. If a driver exceeds the legal BAC limit but is not driving in an impaired manner, then IMO that driver shouldn't be guilty of anything.
BAC is objective while impairment is subjective. Some people are just plain shitty drivers who drive worse while sober than others do after a few drinks. Someone who drinks once or twice a year might be very dangerous behind the wheel because they're in celebration mode, while someone who goes to the bar after work every night might drive very carefully. So jeff does have a point.
Problem with subjectivity is that it will always be abused by the cops. So courts use BAC which can't be argued with.
Shut the fuck up, Sarc-y.
No you shut the fuck up. You are shitting up this discussion with your fake accusations and your insults.
I’m not the Islamophobic bigot, Jeffy. That’d be you, dudette.
BAC is a more objective measurement, that is true, but it's not the correct measurement IMO. It is impaired driving. Yes it can be abused, but that is true of every traffic regulation. (Did that driver really run a red light? Did that driver really come to a full and complete stop at the stop sign?) Obviously the term 'impaired' by itself would have to be clarified, I would not want an officer to have zero guidance about what constitutes 'impairment'.
Someone can blow a 0.0 and the cop will still arrest them for DUI if the cop deems that they failed the roadside sobriety test. Happens more than you might think.
Cite?
Sarc, have you been arrested for DUI when you felt you were safe to operate a moving vehicle?
If so, did you contact the law offices of Joe Bornstein?
Since you brought it up, how do you think a muslim immigrant fresh from Saudi Arabia would react to a man in the woman's bathroom?
If that immigrant reacts poorly, then that's the fault of the immigrant, not the victim. Aren't you all the ones who say that foreigners have a duty to assimilate to the host country's culture? Why should we make excuses for an immigrant who behaves badly in this scenario?
Oh, so now you’re anti-immigrant too? Some libertarian you are.
I'm confused. Who's the "victim" in this scenario?
The muslim because of jeffy's islamophobic policy of letting men use women's spaces.
Lol. “Victim”? Of what?
Poor choices?
“Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”
the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better.
That's your team, bucko. You want to pretend that biological sex is all that matters, when that isn't the case.
Under, e.g., Obama's Title IX "guidance" (go read it) "that a man who (with no physician's diagnosis or any physical operation) identifies as a woman is entitled to the same rights under Title IX." This is the position of the NCAA, too, apparently.
So it's worse than that. A man doesn't have to *actually* identify as a woman. He can merely claim that he does, cannot be questioned on his claim, and can change his mind at any time.
And because "gender fluid" must also be accepted without question, he doesn't even have to cos-play as a woman. A truck-sized loophole for pedophiles and miscellaneous perverts. Get arrested for setting up shop in the ladies room? Just claim "I identify as a woman at the moment."
You want to pretend that biological sex is all that matters, when that isn’t the case.
We're under no obligation to play along with your insistence that a man who calls himself a woman is a woman and not a mentally ill, narcissistic man.
Because one idiot tried to light his "shoe bomb" we ALL have to take our shoes off to be x-rayed.
Yes, the cynic is wrong.
I've got no issues if women want to traipse into a men's room. I might be a little shy-bladdered, but I'm not going to fear them vis-a-vis them potentially sexually assaulting me. OTOH, a lot of women do, in fact, fear any man in their "private" space and the risk of sexual assault.
Upskirt photos and secret bathroom cameras seem to all be targeted at females, too. I've never read about a perv putting cameras in a public men's room. I've never read about a female perving on men in a Target changing room.
Your issue is not the issue. Their issue is not the issue. Their issue is to distract you from their need for greater power and control.
Charlotte: All restrooms open to the public, not just restrooms owned by the public, shall accommodate all who need them.
Actual (Not Reason) Libertarians and Normal People: Don’t those restrooms belong to the various business owners? A law about restrooms owned by the public, which is what the state tried to hem in make some sense but all restrooms outside private residences as law is clearly a step too far. We already dictate things like number of stalls per occupant and the relative height of handicap bar to the toilet, insisting that they now provide anything to anyone on a whim is getting really, insanely, Kafkaesque.
Reason and Woke Progressive ‘tards: Why are you moral panicking?! It’s only 0.01% of the populations and only about restrooms! Why do you want to oppress the 0.01% you bigoted tyrant?!
Sorry, Democrats, but you changed Title IX to allow men into woman's lockerooms and sports, told parents they couldn't be told about their children's behavior at school and can't even say what a woman is without paragraphs long explanations with charts and diagrams. No one is going to listen to you, now.
Yes we know. Their bad behavior excuses your bad behavior.
Thanks for admitting that their bad behavior shouldn't be tolerated, and should in fact be punished to prevent it from happening.
Another chemjeff bears in trunks moment...had to laugh.
Yes, we punish bad behavior to deter it. Just ask any 2-year old.
What "bad behavior"?
"No men in women's spaces" has been the rule for many decades. If you want to change that, YOU have to make the case. Just whining that people won't play along with your delusions isn't going to cut the mustard here.
"Why do you care, you bigot?" is not making a case. It is stifling a discussion. Because you have no case to make.
When I call Jeff evil I'm not resorting to hyperbole.
What bad behavior? It's a silly to worry about the House bathroom rules, but not bad. And that silliness is the result of dems bad behavior.
Pushing back on insanity is not bad behaviour.
Once again, Lying Jeffy’s too stupid to realize he just told on himself.
“He’s attacking me!” cried the man with the knife, pointing to the bloody man.
Lol. What “bad behavior”? Not listening to you?
How dare they!
If they pass, then no one even notices and it is not an issue. This is only coming up because activists want bathroom access for people who *do not* pass.
The *do not* pass crowd tend to be perverts like pluggo looking to gets their rocks off. I am ok with an everybody can use policy as long as there is an exception for 'I smashed your head in for taking indecent liberities with my kid' policy.
"The *do not* pass" crowd"
Motion to have a hologram generator in front of every bathroom that auto generates a hologram of Gandalf turning away the Balrog when someone that egregiously passes so poorly that it is painfully obvious.
Second.
Motion to have Gandalf for women entering the men’s room. The Black Knight for men entering the women’s room.
“I move… for no man.”… “It’s just a flesh wound!”… “What are you gonna do? Bleed on me?”
Congress could reschedule or deschedule pot, or amend the provisions more directly affecting the business, much faster than administrative action.
Seems like the preferred way for the federal government to get things done now is with executive orders. That way Congress doesn't have to take responsibility, and subsequent presidents can undo it. Makes everything political and presidential because the executive can basically change the law whenever they want. Rule of law be damned. It's all rule of men now.
But this is not about executive orders, it's about a statutory administrative procedure that's very involved.
Aren't those procedures initiated by executive order?

That is a great explanation of how Leftist policies start, and their inevitable end. Atlas Shrugged was required reading in our home. I made sure both of my children read it at age 12, before high school, and again at 17, before college.
Atlas Shrugged was supposed to be a cautionary tale. Somehow, the leftists appear to use it as a roadmap.
Well we've had unisex bathrooms for a long time without controversy for a long time as far as I know. In some places it's just because there isn't space for two separate rooms, in other cases they're provided for families so dads can take their toddler daughters and moms their sons. In any case anyone entering has fair notice. Dudes that insist on using bathrooms designated for women are either trying to draw attention or have sinister motives.
Here's a thought.
The latest science tells us sex is purely a state of mind with no relations to things like cocks or pussies or tits.
So what's the fucking point of sex-segregated anything?
"So what’s the fucking point of sex-segregated anything?"
Yup. Lets just take it to the logical conclusion.
No sex segregated sports, just one pool. Women's sports (and their scholarships for college) vanish in an instant.
No sex segregated bathrooms or changing rooms, just one big community area. See how quick sexual assaults sky rocket.
How quick do you think a shitlib would get their 15 year old daughter out of a school where they let 15-18 year old boys change in the locker room next to their near nude daughter? They would all be sending their daughters to a private school that doesnt allow that shit so fast it would make your head spin (but it wouldnt, because their kids are in a gated community school already anyways)
"private school that doesnt allow that shit "
Trans activists would demand laws to prevent that, too.
Usually they're for only one person, though, and you lock the door when you go in. Totally different situation.
Most unisex bathrooms are singles and surely ought to satisfy the demand. Trans-activists have expressly demanded that they not be relegated to unisex bathrooms and must have unfettered access to whichever bathroom, locker room, changing room, etc. that feel like cos-playing as at the moment.
Building a bunch of single-occupancy bathrooms with locking doors etc. is a lot more costly, but certainly would solve the "problem" of single-sex bathrooms. But then what would trans-activists cry about then?
"Trump has vowed a purging of deep state enemies within the DOJ"
Although I doubt his ability to do so, the DOJ and the rest of the deep state are in serious NEED of a purging. Of course, the simplest way to purge the deep state would be to fire every employee of the Federal government, eliminate twelve of the fifteen Federal executive departments, and declare three thousand five hundred of the over four thousand laws in the Code of Federal Regulations to be null and void as unconstitutional. Replace only the few employees and officials necessary to carry out the Constitutional activities mandated to the Departments of State, Defense and the Treasury and then the problem will become more manageable, even for someone as clueless as Trump.
Fortunately, he's not nearly as clueless as TDS-addled shitpiles like you.
Redesignate the Department of Defense as what it used to be, the Department of War, and go back to a separate Department of the Navy. Department of War would be over the Army and Air Force (and Space Force) and the Department of the Navy over the Navy and Marine Corp. The Department of War would then be tasked with preparing specifically for the next war. Most national defense is largely conducted by the Navy anyhow, because basically Canada and Mexico pose no real land threat to us. There's several other arguments as to why this system worked better (one being it's harder for contractors to monopolize multiple departments with different needs than a single department of defense).
Am I the only one who doesnt care if he banged a 17 year old? I'm more interested in what he can do as AG for Trump.
Am I the only one who doesnt care if Hunter Biden was on crack with hookers and violated unconstitutional federal gun laws? I'm more interested on whether he was influence peddling for his dad the "Big Guy"
Am I the only one who doesnt care if he banged a 17 year old?
Moot point aside; meet in the middle, 6 vs. half-dozen, peanut butter in the chocolate, tastes great vs. less filling, why not both?: If he can pull a iron out of the "Who put a pubic hair on my Coke can?" embers and brand a few people, *today*, he should absolutely do so.
I care about Hunter violating federal gun laws. Because I want him to fight it to the Supreme Court and win.
The problem is that a guy in his late 30s-early 40s who may have a predilection for hooking up with girls who are nominally in the “barely legal” phase might have far worse skeletons in his closet than just liking them fresh out of school.
Plus, it’s going to be 2025, not 2017. Trump can be a lot more deliberate about how to go about breaking down the Deep State than sending a spastic like Gaetz rampaging through the place. Bondi is going to be a lot more focused and methodical than Gaetz ever would be.
"Trump can be a lot more deliberate about how to go about breaking down the Deep State than sending a spastic like Gaetz rampaging through the place."
I thought exactly the same. Maybe Gaetz would be loyal to Trump, but I dont see him doing a diligent focused job. He needs the equivalent of that border bulldawg going HAM on the illegals, or Elon going Twitter-style cut the place by 80% on the govt, not have a guy who may have some talent but spends pretty much all of his time slinging mud in the headlines.
Let Trump be the one who slings mud and blankets himself in controversy, let his cabinet picks be the ones who get some actual work done. I dont see Gaetz as that guy
How would Bondi know which bodies to whack? Gaetz did. It won't matter methodical and focused if she doesn't know who to whack from the get-go.
she can ask him?
>>Am I the only one who doesnt care if he banged a 17 year old?
no, but I'm also now not sure the entire thing isn't super made up.
Eh. I’m a fan of sex belongs in marriage.
Having stated that outright, I think if a girl is old enough to consent to sex with someone her age, she’s old enough to consent to sex with anyone. It’s not like 17 year old boys are immune from sleazy, underhanded, mysoginistic tactics to bed an inexperienced girl.
I don’t understand the logic for age of consent laws except to prosecute edge cases where someone was clearly harmed but it’s not really rape. That just turns consent laws into retarded seduction/cad laws that are totally inconsistent in their application - because it acts like there’s an age line where women suddenly can’t be victims of seduction and men suddenly learn how to seduce.
"Anyone who, tragically, is going to harm women in the bathroom isn't deterred by a policy. "
Hmm, I wonder what this same guy's take on, say, banning assault weapons, the 2A, etc is.
I wonder if he thinks all crime and gun violence would go away if we just legislated against it making it a crime. Oh wait, I am pretty sure I know exactly what his take would be
You know too much.
Well, I mean Jeff above thinks it's rural white men gun owners who are doing all the school shootings.
He doesn’t actually think that. He was lying on behalf of his position.
Rule #1 of dealing with Jeffy: Understand that Jeffy lies constantly, and he will conjure up a lie to bolster his argument.
Plus he just made shit up. Absolutely an undisguised strawman.
He made up two different strawmen in a row, in the same fucking response to Minadin, 3 fucking minutes apart. That’s got to be a record for the speed of posting strawmen about the same topic to the same person.
I would have thought that White Mike was the record holder, but I'm just honored to be part of the discussion.
He seems to be speaking awfully authoritatively on behalf of people who want to harm people in the restroom.
Seems like people who want to harm me in my living room aren't going to be deterred by a policy either, but we still have laws against it.
In case anyone was curious, California finally finishing printing...err, I mean counting all their votes. Kamala won CA, natch.
Did Chase come in the rear there too?
Does Sarc know?
What are the odds Pam Bondi, a Tri-Delt Gator in the mid '80s, never smoked weed? Unless she's a lifelong teetotaler I'd put it somewhere around zero. The former Florida AG was in the same high school graduating class as the late professional wrestler Mike Awesome,
lol the tri-delts at my school were L-7 squares. alpha xi otoh ...
Tri-Delt...everyone else already has.
They are the Girl Scout sorority. Literally.
I like how the upthread Tweet:
Armand Domalewski @ArmandDoma · Nov 19
Look, I genuinely don’t care who is in the bathroom with me, but the law you’re proposing says the person on the left should use the women’s bathroom and the person on the right should use the men’s bathroom
Double-reverse uno proves the points that they don’t give a shit about biology or victims or people’s feelings or who actually owns the bathrooms and decides the rules or who will actually be using them and it’s all about flexing on women like Nancy Mace. Fucking scum of the Earth.
they. want. to. be. checked. on. the. way. in.
Worse. Whether the person going in wants to be checked or not, whether you want to check them or not, Armand Domalewski wants you to check in order to indulge his selective whims.
ew. yes, worse.
>>Turns out the scandals—which may have involved sex with a second 17-year-old escort
meh.

Interesting stuff
One can only wonder what a Trump DOJ might do with this can of worms.
That was a rabbit hole I wasn't prepared for, but it didn't disappoint.
>>Many will continue to say crime is down year over year, which may well be true
how do you ever choose a meal ... or a wave?
did anyone ask Ginger Gaetz what she thinks?
RE: ICC arrest warrants for PM Netanyahu and MK Gallant.
It is a moral travesty, and rooted in antisemitism.
If you want the ME to calm down, this is not the way to go about it.
Perhaps the UN can be relocated elsewhere. They're lost their mandate.
I’ve a suggestion for UN relocation. How about Pitcairn Island? The UK could donate it as “neutral territory” in the middle of nowhere.
Is this isolated island too 'Dr. Evil'-y?

Elon says he'll be ready for a trip to Mars soon.
on the other hand i think all heads of state should live in fear.. so -shrug-
Lol, nobody wants "trannies who pass" in there either, but that's a tad harder to police.
We shouldn't *need* to police it. That's why the need is to shift the overton window back to where we didn't need to.
Adult M to F trannies who can pass are very rare. That passing is a reasonable expectation for them is one of the tragic lies of transgenderism.
