Brickbat: May as Well Just Stay Home

California clean air regulations may ban the sale of new motor homes in the state of Washington. How so? In 2020, Washington lawmakers passed a law requiring the state to follow California's zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) rules. In October, the California Air Resources Board voted to ban manufacturers from selling gas- or diesel-powered vehicles over 8,500 pounds unless they first meet the ZEV sales targets. One RV dealer told KIRO Newsradio he didn't know of any manufacturers that even have an electric vehicle program.

RV's are usually driven relatively long distances.
Current battery powered vehicles range decreases drastically with increased weight.
They are also most efficient in stop and go traffic where regenerative braking recaptures some energy.
The only "heavy" BEVs I know of are used for local deliveries not long haul.
That said, getting over 8,500 lbs. is a lot easier with an assload of lithium.

Cuckery loves company.
When boomers cockblock other boomers.
It'll kill the sale in state, but RV's are a big enough purchase people will drive out of state for it. Washington is just going to lose out on sales taxes.
And the people who buy them can afford to go out of state to get one.

I know this is a brickbat, but it seems like a writer, investigative journalist or both, could manage to put in a scinitilla of effort into verifying the claim and ruling out "... and this guy may just be a moron who doesn't know how to use the internet and we're degenerate morons for repeating his stupidity."
I'm not a fan of RVs or EVs or green regulations but, FFS, c'mon. This is your and his jobs.
