Donald Trump Bloodied in Assassination Attempt

The former president was rushed off stage after gunfire at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage in the middle of a campaign rally on Saturday after the sounds of gunfire rang out in the crowd.

The shots rang out while Trump was speaking in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Associated Press reported that "Trump could be seen reaching with his right hand toward his neck. There appeared to be blood on his face."

Trump's campaign quickly issued a statement saying that the former president was "fine" and that he was being checked by medical professionals.

In video from the scene of the incident, Secret Service agents can be seen swarming Trump. As Trump leaves the stage surrounded by the agents, he can be seen pumping his fist in the air. Videos and photos from the scene showed Trump reach toward his right ear as the shots rang out. As he exited the stage, Trump seemed to have blood on his face from a possible wound on the side of his head.

A few hours later, Trump posted on Truth Social that "a bullet…pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening."*

In a statement to CNN issued shortly after the incident, the Secret Service said Trump was "safe" and said an investigation is ongoing. Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger confirmed to multiple news outlets that the shooter is dead, along with an audience member.

In a longer statement on Saturday night, the Secret Service confirmed that a single shooter "fired multiple shots" towards Trump "from an elevated position outside of the rally venue." The Secret Service also confirmed that one attendee at the rally was killed in the shooting and two others were critically wounded.

"I'm grateful to hear that he's safe and doing well. I'm praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information," President Joe Biden said in a statement on Saturday night. "There's no place for this kind of violence in America."

Reports from the scene suggest that the shooter was positioned on the roof of a building adjacent to the rally venue in Butler, Pennsylvania, a midsized town just north of Pittsburgh. Unnamed law enforcement officials told the Associated Press that the incident is being investigated as an assassination attempt. That would make this the first attempted assassination of a president or former president since Ronald Reagan was targeted in 1981.

It should go without saying that political violence along the lines of what may have happened in Pennsylvania on Saturday is abhorrent.

It likely would in some areas. The states themselves, especially the western ones, are largely artificial constructs whose lines were drawn up for political considerations, using cardinal direction points, not geographical features. I can certainly see Antifa shenanigans in places like Texas cities and especially college towns. But with no Democratic federal bureaucracy to answer to anymore, red state leaders probably won't hold back like they did in 2020. And the last thing Antifarts want is to be martyrs.

Bullet velocity is an issue for any camera a reporter is likely to be carrying at a political rally, I will give you that.

However, The article indicates that multiple shots were fired. Assuming for the sake of argument that the photo is genuine, It wouldn't have to be the bullet that hit Trump's ear, so the alignment isn't as much of an issue as you think.

While I agree it is unlikely, the level of the alleged bullet relative to the ear is an invalid objection. The photo is taken 2-3 feet or so below the subject, thus rendering the viewing angle invalid for the claim. Given the alleged object is depicted to be at least 6-8" further back, being at the same viewing angle could well put it in line.

If anything, it would mean the individual who faked it, if that were the case, was smart enough to not do the obvious thing and put it at the level of the top of the earlobe. As someone who has been a marksman and a photographer, thus have experience in both aspects of this, I would immediately object if they were at the same visual level in this picture, because that isn't what we would see.

Registering in a party you don't belong to, just to vote in a primary is a thing and it's likely an anti-Trump person would do that.

Its fairly common in states like PA with closed primaries to register to vote in a way that makes your vote matter. If you really wanted to vote against Trump as a democrat in PA, registering R makes good sense. You can try to see that he doesn't get the primary nomination, and then you get another shot at voting him down in the general.

If you are a registered D, you get no say in the R primary and also your nominee is chosen for you and your vote doesnt matter (as was evidenced by Biden's "primary win" this year)

Video shows that one of two had a bead on the shooter and could have fired before he did. Instead, he waited until the shooter actually fired before taking him down.

The one who "shielded" Trump as they made their way to the escape vehicle was CLEARLY incompetent by virtue of the fact that she was HALF TRUMP'S HEIGHT.

There is NO way she should have EVER been on Trump's personal protection detail.

It means SHE'S TOO SHORT - because she's a woman - to be an effective bodyguard to shield a 6'3" man as they escort him to safety. So why was she there?
