Given the geography of the Maldives, one would think she would have to use blue magic, which is no fun.

Apparently there's no official report of the charges, just media articles. The "crime" could be something perfectly normal, like criticizing a powerful minister.
But it can be punished by up to six months in prison under Islamic law in the majority Muslim nation.

Just being a "State Minister for Environment, Climate Change, and Energy" should be a major felony.
(One of those three things is not like the others)
They do expend a lot of energy on crying that the sky is falling.
