Meeting of the United Nations Security Council | CHINE NOUVELLE/SIPA/Newscom
(CHINE NOUVELLE/SIPA/Newscom)

U.N. backs ceasefire: Yesterday, the United Nations Security Council threw its support behind a U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly said behind closed doors that he would support this ceasefire, though he has publicly made noises that contradict that commitment. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the ceasefire agreement "is down to one person"—meaning Yahya Sinwar, Hamas' leader.

As I wrote in Roundup last week, the plan has three phases. "The first, which would last for six weeks, would include a 'full and complete ceasefire' as well as total withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas of Gaza and the release of many hostages taken by Hamas—women, the elderly—in exchange for 'hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.' Phase two would involve negotiations between Israel and Hamas, but also the release of all remaining hostages and the total withdrawal of Israeli forces. The temporary ceasefire would be made permanent. Phase three would involve rebuilding the Gaza Strip."

The ceasefire was approved by 14 of the 15 Security Council member states, with Russia abstaining. The U.S. had rejected three previous ceasefire plans that ended up before the Council. This current draft, which Israel may find fault with as it may leave too much of Hamas intact, also rejects "any attempt at demographic or territorial change in the Gaza Strip, including any actions that reduce the territory of Gaza."

"We will continue until all of the hostages are returned and Hamas's military capabilities are dismantled," said Israel's representative to the U.N., gesturing at the tension between the ceasefire plan and her country's post-October 7 aims.

Human shields: "Following the Israeli rescue of four hostages in Gaza on Saturday, Israel's military said that three of them had been held in the home of a member of Hamas, which it said showed that the armed group was using civilian homes to shield its activity," reports The New York Times.

Now, international observers have been attempting to suss out what the raid's collateral damage looks like. Gaza's health ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, claims 274 people were killed by Israel as they extracted hostages. The Israel Defense Forces says the death toll was a fraction of that—around 100—but neither side has given a sense of the civilian-militant breakdown.

Scenes from New York: A man named Omar Khan, who claimed to be a wine expert and ingratiated himself to the oenophiles of New York City by hosting dinner parties (and asking for funds to host parties that never happened), has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for his role in defrauding his diners.

QUICK HITS

  • "In many new apartments, even a space to put a table and chairs is absent. Eating is relegated to couches and bedrooms, and hosting a meal has become virtually impossible," writes Nolan Gray for The Atlantic. "This isn't simply a response to consumer preferences. The housing crisis—and the arbitrary regulations that fuel it—is killing off places to eat whether we like it or not, designing loneliness into American floor plans."
  • Eithan Haim "is facing a four-count federal felony indictment for blowing the whistle on Texas Children's Hospital, where he worked while a resident," reports The Free Press' Emily Yoffe. "At TCH, he discovered the hospital was secretly continuing gender transition treatments on minors—including hormonal intervention on patients as young as 11 years old—after publicly declaring, in March of 2022, it would no longer provide such services."
  • Equity vs. truth at Wikipedia:

Was the outrage that followed after former Wiki CEO Katherine Maher went viral for saying that "our reverence for the truth might be a distraction" not enough?

Because Wikipedia is doubling down. Your telos is either truth or equity.

You can't be both equitable and truthful.… pic.twitter.com/pGQ8LyAYoV

  • Apple and OpenAI announced a partnership yesterday, with ChatGPT/operating system integration coming later this year. "If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies," Elon Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in response to this news. "That is an unacceptable security violation."

The Biden administration just lifted the US Government ban against supplying weapons to Ukraine's infamous nazi Azov battalion.

WTF!? Now Biden is openly arming Nazis and bragging about it in the Washington Post.

      Democrats are right now:

      - marching in the streets calling "Death to Jews", breaking the windows of Jewish shops, and attacking Jews for being Jewish
      - negotiating with Iran directly on how to destabilize Israeli leadership
      - trying to imprison their main political opponent on obviously phony charges
      - illegally spying on Americans
      - trying to create a Ministry of Truth that will enact mass censorship of anything they deem disinformation
      - launching and funding ridiculous attacks on dissenting supreme court justices in order to intimidate them, and trying to pack the court
      - Trying to start a war with Russia
      - Funding actual Nazi troops in Ukraine

But remember that Donald Trump is somehow the real danger to American freedom.

      1. damikesc   1 year ago

Biden still has 63% or so of the American Jewish vote and 49% feel he is good for Israel while only 25% think the same of Trump.

I've never been in a situation to get shot while wearing a bulletproof vest. As dehumanizing as I can possibly get about the vest, I'm pretty sure I'm going to care more that the bulletproof vest gets shot than it does.

        2. Bill Falcon   1 year ago

Ike lost the Jewish vote by over 20%...think about that for a second. My Jewish neighbors (all Ashkenazi's) always joked they were socialist, secularist, and Zionist. The dominance of secular Jews in the Democratic Party (ethnics like Irish and Italian have been driven to the GOP) and secularist objectives (along with greater Israel and avenging Trotsky losing to Stalin..which explains the support for Zelensky) ensures the Dems always will get 80% or more of the Jewish Vote. The GOP should forget the neocons and open their arms to Arab and Muslim Americans and support the Palestinian state cause.

          1. Truthfulness   1 year ago

That's a great way to lose support of the pro-Israel faction of the party. That number isn't small.

        Valid point.

I do predict, though, that we’re not just going to see lab-grown meat. We are going to see lab-grown meat that eventually diverges from trying to taste like it’s animal-grown equivalent, using genetic engineering to improve taste and texture, yields, and nutrient content.

There are precedents for all that from golden rice to turducken.

      1. Chumby   1 year ago

Those virtues don’t signal themselves! What is the efficacy of a face diaper again? Before you reply, note that there is an industrial hygienist commenter here that is familiar with respiratory PPE.

        1. Foo_dd   1 year ago

what part of voluntary do you not understand? you don't want to believe/do it.... fine..... but fuck off with your pretending that anyone who thinks it was a good idea was automatically trying to force you to do it.

          1. Chumby   1 year ago

Nice strawman. I never said or implied he tried to force face diapers. My original and follow-up posts call into question his leadership abilities and critical thinking skills.

          2. JesseAz (5-30 Banana Republic Day)   1 year ago

Except the concurrent tweets from Chase are not voluntary from an individual standpoint. He advocated for corporations to be able to force individuals to mask at the behest of government. The ole vaccine passport type deal.

            So fuck off.

            1. Foo_dd   1 year ago

wait.... he said private companies can set conditions for doing business with them?!?!?!

bake the damn cake, right? how dare anyone ever say any business has the right to set conditions in their business.

              1. Uilleam   1 year ago

You mean the private company, that I already have a contract with, arbitrarily trying to make wearing a face diaper and getting the clot shot mandatory conditions of my employment? How about you go fuck yourself?

                1. Heedless   1 year ago

Your employer sets the terms of employment. If you don't like them, work elsewhere.

True if they cut your pay, true if they want you to cover your tats, true if they want you to piss in a cup, and true if they want you to get vaccinated.

Libertarianism doesn't guarantee that they will force you job to accommodate you (That's progressivism), it only guarantees you the right of exit.

                  1. Truthfulness   1 year ago

You missed the part about the contract. The company using its power to break it is problematic.

                2. Foo_dd   1 year ago

freedom means everyone has it, not that you can force your will on everyone else. the company is free to set the conditions, and you are free to find employment elsewhere.

                  1. Truthfulness   1 year ago

The company sets the conditions, but cannot break those conditions. Mandating a vaccine after agreement should be considered a violation.

          3. A Thinking Mind   1 year ago

The big problem I see is that he bought the face mask and social distancing propaganda whole-heartedly, when it was all bunk. He did not closely examine the truth or the science behind those recommendations, showing a huge deference to authority. And he doesn't even couch this in terms of "making your own choices," he says it's important to be responsible. This is what he deemed proper behavior, not people making their own choices about their own health.

How can we trust a libertarian candidate who shows a lot of deference toward perceived authority? How is he supposed to stand up to the Pentagon, or the ideologues who tell him that kids have to be transitioned in order to save their lives because they're the authorities? This is his problem, the perceived lack of pushback.

            1. VinniUSMC (Banana Republic Day 5/30/24)   1 year ago

It's 3 years too late to still be hawking face diaper and social distancing propaganda. How far left can a LP candidate go before killing the LP?

I hereby humbly retract my statement and eat some crow. Posting that at the end of 2020 was still silly, but not nearly as bad as I assumed. There's plenty still to dislike about him as the LP candidate without piling on.

But he's also supposedly representing libertarians (or Libertarians, rather) in the upcoming election and uncritically swallowing the government promoted bullshit surrounding covid is not a good sign that he is a deep thinker or particularly curious or principled.

            1. Foo_dd   1 year ago

he promoted voluntary action. that is the libertarian position. end. stop. if you don't like the voluntary action he promoted..... it was still voluntary. the only one demanding blind adherence to a desired propaganda is you guys.

              1. Zeb   1 year ago

I'm not demanding anything from anyone. I'm saying I don't think he's a good libertarian candidate because he is too deferential to government authority and was insufficiently skeptical during a time when any libertarian ought to have been focused on opposing the insane power grabs being made in the name of public health. I want a candidate who cares more about individual freedom than about avoiding getting sick with something that everyone was always going to get eventually.

                1. Foo_dd   1 year ago

what you are demanding is that we should all advocate for not wearing seat belts just because the government says you should. that is basically what you are saying, that we must demand vigorous opposition to doing anything if anyone in the government has ever suggested it might be a good idea..... even if that opposition creates a risk to your own health.

                  1. Zeb   1 year ago

No. I'm saying that the covid response was a unique and terrible event and I consider it a real and singular test of people's character. Which this guy failed. You can make your own judgements, but I think that anyone goofy enough to have made their friends and family perform a bunch of weird bullshit for Thanksgiving dinner is not a good candidate for office.

                    1. Foo_dd   1 year ago

I'm trying to think of a good way to explain this to you. it is exactly the same, but you have attached more emotion over reason when it comes to covid. you seem to see covid as a place to abandon principle over tribalism. (and that is what this crap flinging comes down to...... "they" wore masks, "we" did not.) if you think a person wearing a mask when there were lots of recommendations to do so is a character flaw..... the problem is you, not them.

                  2. DesigNate   1 year ago

Except it doesn’t “creates a risk to your own health”.

                  3. Zeb   1 year ago

Sometimes you have to consider a particular situation and not just assume all ideas are equal. Seatbelts, while they shouldn't be required, are generally understood to be of great benefit in a crash and there is lots of data to back it up.

                    1. Foo_dd   1 year ago

the masks were just like seat belts. wear it wrong, it won't work. using a rope instead of a properly designed one will probably not work or at least not work as well. and while wearing one improves your odds, it doesn't guarantee anything. also nobody who thinks you should wear a seat belt would recommend deliberately crashing your car because you are. (biggest failure of many who pushed for masks was acting like it was much more effective than it was.)

                    2. DesigNate   1 year ago

                      Jeff, is that you?

The masks are nothing like seat belts, even when you wear them properly. Which no one did. The science behind masks has been known since the Spanish Flu. They, especially the ones that were being handmade or paper, do exactly dick to stop viral spread. Same with “social distancing”.

        Townhall.com:

Ignore all the tangents that interfere with this hypothetical. Number one, number two, it doesn’t matter. There are assertions that he’s always swaddled in Depends when he goes out. There were a lot of rumors that this had happened before, including in front of the Pope. Let’s put all that aside. We are trying to determine how far we believe the regime media would go to cover up for Joe Biden if this elderly, senile old, degenerate, publicly soils himself.

Let’s be clear about the scenario. The White House regularly brings in groups of people to pose with the President. He typically utters a few incoherent clichés in their general direction, shakes hands to the extent he’s able to, and then shuffles out the door. The visitors, usually Democrat constituents, are thrilled to visit the alleged chief executive and too polite to gasp at his manifest decrepitude. So, what if he is standing there, babbling on about how he arm-wrestled Corn Pop into submission and was thereby able to liberate Nelson Mandela from the cannibals holding him hostage in Alcatraz, and suddenly it happens? The crowd sees it. The reporters see it. The cameras catch it. His many, many puppet masters rush to haul him off-stage and out of view, but not before it is clear that the President of the United States has publicly soiled himself.

What does the regime media do?

Well, we know what it did with Hunter Biden’s laptop, which was undeniably true. They not only lied to us and told us it was Russian disinformation, but they got 51 former intelligence community members to lie and tell us it was Russian disinformation. And that wasn’t enough. They went further. They actively lobbied social media companies to suppress the truth. You were banned from social media if you published the fact that Hunter Biden’s laptop, that repository of perversions and vice, was actually his.

This could happen again should the President soil himself. The regime media is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party. Its purpose is not to bring us the truth. Its purpose is to support and elect Democrats. So, do you think the regime media would hesitate for a minute to either not tell you that the President publicly soiled himself, or to deny that the President had publicly soiled himself? Do you think they would show the photos that they had or the video? Do you think it would hesitate to try to ban the transmission of the images and the reporting by non-regime media outlets?

The first time I really noticed it was the Haymarket article, about the riot/killings in Chicago in the 1880s. The standard story was that cops did the killing and the trial was a sham. Then someone found the transcripts and wrote a good detailed report which showed that anarchists made and threw the bombs, and the trial bent over backwards to be fair, including some of the first forensic testing of the chemistry of the bomb fragments with unfinished bombs.

The author tried to edit the Wikipedia page and got rejected over and over because he had done his own research instead of quoting primary sources. He was a labor professor at some Chicago university, not likely to be anti-union, but he had upset the 100+ year narrative of good protesters / bad trial.

        1. Zeb   1 year ago

Not including original research is standard for encyclopedias and has always been one of the basic rules for Wikipedia. Encyclopedias are supposed to be a summary of established knowledge.
But cases like the one you cite do highlight a few problems with this approach. One is the notion that citations are some guarantor of accuracy. Which it obviously isn't, it just means you are repeating what others have said. And I don't think much of the Wiki standards for what counts as a valid citation. A reasonably smart person can write a well researched paper with lots of citations in favor of pretty much any proposition. So a place like Wiki that is pretty well captured by a particular ideology can perpetuate bad information with circular citations.

          1. damikesc   1 year ago

The person the article is ABOUT cannot correct anything, though.

They did an article about Tim Pool where, at some point, they said he had a blimp.

He told them "I do not know where that comes from, but I have never once owned a blimp"

They refused to correct it, even after the ultimate source said the claim was laughable.

Also, this is an incredibly lame deflection considering the journals going under for publishing crap science in service to the climate cult is an empirical fact.

Doesn't matter. The incentives for getting funding and for publication are all fucked up. This gives lots of room for doubt among skeptics of the standard AGW narrative. There is little question at this point that the majority of published scientific papers are wrong or not reproduceable. This is a big problem unless you thing that the purpose of scientific publishing is to push a particular political agenda or to somehow "save the world".

I was doing research on (actual) slavery in Virginia, and discovered that the first slave in Virginia was decreed by the Virginia Governors Council in 1640. (As opposed to the award winning fantasies of a certain New York Times writer). As part of that research,
        I found this:

At this time (1665), there were only about 300 people of African origin living in the Virginia Colony, about 1% of an estimated population of 30,000. The first group of 20 or so Africans were brought to Jamestown in 1619 as indentured servants. After working out their contracts for passage money to Virginia and completing their indenture, each was granted 50 acres (20 ha) of land (headrights). This enabled them to raise their own tobacco or other crops.

In one of the earliest freedom suits, Casor argued that he was an indentured servant who had been forced by Anthony Johnson, a free black, to serve past his term; he was freed and went to work for Robert Parker as an indentured servant. Johnson sued Parker for Casor's services. In ordering Casor returned to his master, Johnson, for life, the court both declared Casor a slave and sustained the right of free blacks to own slaves.

        Rewriting history. Wikipedia style
I suspect this is an attempt to conflate actual slavery, by force, with a contract of indenture, voluntarily entered into for a period of time.
This will help blur the blatant lie of slaves being brought to Jamestown in 1619, when the fact is that they were indentured servants who sold their indenture to pay the passage to the new world.
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Casor
        Interesting note concerning Wikipedia;
This is the text I captured April 15th.
This is how it now reads
At this time, there were only about 300 people of African origin living in the Virginia Colony, about 1% of an estimated population of 30,000. The first group of 20 or so Africans were brought to Point Comfort in 1619 as enslaved Africans. After working between 15 and 30 years, most were granted their freedom to purchase land and start their own homestead.
        (this bit has been added)
Although most historians believe slavery, as an institution, developed much later, they differ on the exact status of their servitude before slavery was established, as well as differing over the date when this took place. The colonial charter entitled English subjects and their children the rights of the common law, but people of other nations were considered foreigners or aliens outside the common law. At the time, the colony had no provision for naturalizing foreigners.
        Welcome to the revolution!

        A bit more – – – –
The changes were made on October 29, 2020:
Major restatements were from ‘indentured servant’ to ‘enslaved African’, from ‘Jamestown’ to ‘Point Comfort’ (perhaps to avoid searches including Jamestown? Point Comfort is 40 miles downriver from Jamestown), from ‘granted land’ to ‘granted their freedom to purchase land’ (after serving an indenture, they were free by law, and no granting of the freedom to purchase was needed).

Rather overtly, from an State-funded educational institution no less, not enhancing the accuracy, enhancing the believabiity. Further, not enhancing the credibility of chemistry or mathematics or physics where metaphors can cloud understanding, apocryphal apples falling from trees are immaterial, and rectification with existing reality is the final word on any (in)accuracy. Nope, straight up, “We’re rewriting history, religion, and politics to make it/them more believeable and social justice-y.”

I think that Hamas is between a rock and a hard place. Israel's raid that freed 4 hostages showed that the hostages will be returned, one way or another. Hamas can get what it can through negotiations or give up the hostages in the field. But no way things are going to get better for Hamas.

Biden may or may not have shit his pants. But it begs the question...

    Townhall.com:

The first stage is denial. “No, President Biden did not soil himself.” How dare you say that the President soiled himself. He spilled his lemonade. Only a mega-racist would say differently. That’s crazy talk that’s crazy. You’re all crazy liars. It’s yet another right-wing conspiracy theory and yet another right-wing lie! The experts agree – there was no pee.

The second stage, beginning when the denial lie collapses under the weight of a zillion tweets, is “Yes, he may have soiled himself, but it’s no big deal.” These things happen. He’s under a lot of stress. He can’t be held responsible for the failure of his sphincter. Everybody soils himself. Why, I’m soiling myself right now.

When that fails, the regime media will move to the third stage, which is “Yes, it happened, but the real problem is that you right-wing media ghouls are pointing it out.” How dare you point out that the President of the United States soiled himself? It’s cruel and it’s mean. How could you? You’re the worst people on earth. You Republicans are pouncing again, this time on his inability to hold it.

The fourth and final stage will be “Yes, he publicly soiled himself, and it’s a good thing that he did.” It humanizes him. Older Americans struggle with continence, and Joe Biden had the courage to soil himself publicly and destigmatize it for all our senior citizens. We should all be more willing to soil ourselves. Thank you, Joe Biden, for blazing a path against soiling shaming.

    1. TrickyVic (old school)   1 year ago

      Or perhaps could be this.

""Jude James said Biden appeared unsteady and his odd seated position could be a sign of his advancing years. She said: "My take on it would be that he does look rather unsteady and confused, shaking hands with Macron and appearing to flinch or jolt slightly as the French President also pats him on the back.

"Biden then seems to assume that he should sit down, oblivious to the fact that the Macrons are still standing to attention beside him.

"The part crouch that he holds for quite a long time does resemble the action or pose that older people often use when sitting down, when the joins and limbs aren't quite as fluid as they used to be."

While Biden easing himself into a chair might look like a young child relieving themselves, it's a common movement for elderly people, Judi explained.""

I don't think the dems would like that explanation either. It would support the notion that Biden really is unfit for office.

LOL, if only. Our long national nightmare would be over:

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow fears Trump may put her in internment camp if he is re-elected president in November

In an interview with CNN senior media reporter Oliver Darcey published in Monday’s Reliable Sources newsletter, Maddow was asked about her concerns about being personally victimized by the Trump administration if he is to be winner of the 2024 presidential election.
‘Trump and his allies are openly talking about weaponizing the government to seek revenge against critics in media and politics, with some of his extremist allies even talking about jailing their fellow Americans,’ said Darcy. ‘You’re one of his most notable critics on television. Are you worried that you could be a target?’

Never mind that the Democrap running against Stefanik was literally quoted as saying that Trump voters needed to be put in re-education camps, as has Her Inevitability herself, Hillary. The leftist Australian government put their own citizens in camps for not taking the coof shot.

Fuck these people. They’re spouting this crap off because they’re terrified they might actually eat a bullet in response if they push the gulags that they're openly calling for now.

Which leads me to a question: what dosage of adenochrome is necessary to keep HRC alive. Let’s hope for your sake that your answer is zero.

In an email to Fox News Digital, Collins explained her comments.

We currently have lawmakers, including Rep. The U.S. Economy Reaches Superstar Status
Let’s start with economists’ favorite metric: growth. When an economy is growing, more money is being spent. More stuff is being produced, more services are being performed, more businesses are being started, more workers are being hired—and, because of this abundance, living standards are probably rising. (On the flip side, during a recession—literally, when the economy shrinks—life gets materially worse.) Right now America’s economic-growth rate is the envy of the world. From the end of 2019 to the end of 2023, U.S. GDP grew by 8.2 percent—nearly twice as fast as Canada’s, three times as fast as the European Union’s, and more than eight times as fast as the United Kingdom’s.

        https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2024/06/us-economy-excellent/678630/

This article will help you understand Econ 101. In advanced economies GROWTH, employment, wealth, and income are the most important metrics.

The USA is the envy of the world.

I know - redneck AM radio tells you no one is working and your Cheesy-Poofs have tripled in price.

Read something meaningful. WSJ, Bloomberg, you tell me - they are all writing about this booming economy.

Constitutional questions generally get raised at appeal, not lowest level courts, especially for laws that have been uniformity executed for decades. This is a normal application of the law.

Also, the political issue here is they let most of Hunters charges lapse. This charge was initially a diversion plea to grant immunity for all the other crimes. It only blew up because a judge asked the DoJ questions about that deal.

This is also the only charge far away from Biden. Hunter still has not been charged with money laundering, FARA, or tax evasion as those all connect to Joe.

Turko appeared in court on Thursday, alongside legal counsel. Prosecutors requested a $15,000 bond that would cover the approximate cost of re-painting the mural. The teen was later released on his own recognizance on the condition that he does not return to the crosswalk, or the other suspects.

At one point, if you’d told me that doctors at a hospital were discriminating against homosexuals I would’ve (and did) told you that you’re crazy. That doctors and hospitals sit at the acme of both higher education and front-line social service and that anyone of any repute or consequence who did hold such animus was professional enough to keep it to themselves and do the best job possible even if they didn’t agree with someone’s lifestyle choices. That, sure, they ask people to step out of varying rooms when things get dicy and patients my want or think it's best if they be there and that misunderstandings or communications happen, but the backwards days of “treating the disease, not the patient” and shoving ice picks into people’s brains to fix ‘deviant sexual hysteria’ or whatever were relatively behind us by a couple of generations if not more.

Now, if you told me doctors at hospitals were discriminating against homosexuals, whether you meant they were disproportionately cutting homosexual’s genitals off and literally undefining women, performatively discriminating for minority-baiting and social-political awareness purposes, or preventing them from making medical decisions regarding their own children, or otherwise just locking people down and out of things, irreparably destroying the social order, solely in order to exercise their power and assuage their egos I would totally believe it.

The charity acknowledged in a section titled “Words Matter” that some members of the community may prefer to use other terms such as “front hole.”

“We recognize the limitations of the words we’ve used while also acknowledging the need for simplicity,” the Canadian Cancer Society wrote. “Another reason we use words like ‘cervix’ is to normalize the reality that men can have these body parts too.”

Reaction to the disclaimer was swift on social media.

“If you can’t call body parts by their actual names, you really don’t deserve to have any role in health and medicine,” wrote Dr. Kim Greene-Liebowitz , who is based in New York, on X.

“So comforting to know that (Canadian) tax (dollars) are going to non-profit content like this,” Cecile Shaw wrote . “Instead of stuff like … more doctors, cancer treatment and diagnostic imaging machines.”

“ Bonus hole ” is another term popularized by the LGBTQ+ community in recent years to refer to the vagina and cervix.

“I don’t know how professional people manage to get so far in life and be so disgustingly unaware of their own stupidity,” another person shared to social media . “Cervix is the proper name.”

No, it's not the proper name. Not if we're going to erase women.

I remember when sex and gender were supposed to be distinct concepts. I never hear that anymore (though it may just be that I don't talk to those people anymore).

      1. Red Rocks White Privilege   1 year ago

I remember when they were used interchangeably, then became distinct concepts, and are now going back to being used interchangeably again.

All within the span of about 20 years.

"I remember when they were used interchangeably"

I should hope so, it was only like 5 minutes ago.

Im trying to pinpoint in my head exactly when it was. I think the left got cocky post-Floyd and decided to throw gasoline onto their dumpster fire, and shove the overton window as far as they possibly could with corporations and the media 1000% at their backs. And I guess kudos to them, it clearly worked. I feel like we got the BLM riots (and acceptance of people looting/burning for racial justice), Juneteenth, and pride-a-palooza on steroids all in the wake of St Floyd

Used interchangably is the Trans Activist motte, the didtinct concept is the bailey. Perhaps the most common argument is that sex differences never actually matter.

      2. Mike Parsons   1 year ago

To move forward as adults, we have to just classify them as what they are. Sex is reality, it is what you are. 'Gender' as the left wants to use it, is made up and imaginary.

So ill agree that you are whatever gender that you want. Male in the morning, lady at night? Cool! Non-binary demisexual? Sure why the fuck not...but also I dont give a shit about any of it and it matters as much as you telling me you are an eagle, or a bear, or a space alien. Said person is a (Man/Woman, sexually) and they think they are a non-binary space alien eagle. Or shorter, a man/woman with mental disease

Gender is what amounts to character lore now. Maybe its no coincidence the tabletop nerd games have been invaded by the pride cult, definitely a lot of overlap with creating imaginary characters...

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the ceasefire agreement "is down to one person"—meaning Yahya Sinwar, Hamas' leader.

Let's kill that guy. And make it splashy.

It's not collateral damage when armed people are killed. Did you not see any of the videos? The Israelis and hostages were being fired on heavily as they fled.

Time and time again, it's been shown that there really is no clear distinction between Palestinian civilians and Hamas. About the only way to tell the difference is when Hamas kills Palestinians (and somehow no one cares when that happens).

As the decision to use the nukes was debated during the summer of '45, it became a consideration that Japan was arming the entire population as best they could for resistance, but had no method of visually identifying them to any invaders.
Question: As a member of the invasion, having watched many of my buddies die, and having been told (by the Japanese government) that all 80,000,000 Japanese subjects are to oppose me, who do I shoot?
Answer: EVERYBODY! And continue shooting until that one doesn't move anymore.

No doubt that was a factor in Pres Truman's decision to drop Little Boy from the Enola Gay = ...a consideration that Japan was arming the entire population as best they could for resistance...

After leaving office, Pres Truman expressed no regret (or remorse) for his decision. Pres Truman made the hard call, and he made the right call. The war ended less than a month later.

Fast forward to today. Any civilian around hamas today is probably there because they want to be (meaning, they agree ideologically with hamas and act in support of them). Gazans have wide open, tunnel free areas to evac to, and have had weeks (months) to evac. Hundreds of thousands did evac out to those areas of gaza.

I have zero problem with hunting down every member of hamas and killing them. If there are 'motivated civilians' who get in the away, my answer is you made your terminal choice
