The governments of Denmark and Sweden are looking at legislation that would

Translation: We don't want to rile these people up so they won't bomb and murder us.
I'm making $90 an hour working from home. I never imagined that it was honest to goodness yet my closest companion is earning sixteen thousand US dollars a month by working on the connection, that was truly astounding for me, she prescribed for me to attempt it simply. Everybody must try this job now by just using this website... http://www.Payathome7.com
The religion of peace...
And a government of cowards.
+1
Technically, it's not "negotiating" with terrorists if you preemptively surrender to whatever they're likely to ask for.
It's better to live on your knees than to die on your feet, eh?
...ban the burning of the Quran or other religious texts during protests.
Lol, "other" religious texts.
Reality says, "Hey, Mr. Parody. Hold my beer.":
In June, an Iraqi Christian refugee living in Sweden, burned a copy of the religious text outside Stockholm's central mosque.
The man was then given permission to destroy a Quran for a second time last week, which led to Sweden evacuating its embassy staff from Baghdad after the building was stormed and set fire to by protesters
Is it okay for me to say here that Sweden shouldn't have had an embassy in Iraq in the first place?
What will the PUNISHMENT be? I'd be OK with, say, a $1.53 fine for improper burning of such books... Then, at least, these governments could say, "Well, look, Islamofascists, we BANNED this, we do NOT approve of it, and they have been PUNISHED! You are also welcome to banish the offenders to Islamic Hell after they die. But will you please now STOP being such violent assholes!?"
(Let the punishment fit the crime.)
Burn the Koran, no. Burn the Bible, sure.
Burn the rainbow flag, no. Burn the US flag, speech!
Burn abortion clinics, no. Burn abortion-alternative clinics, you bet!
Anyone see a pattern?
A Catholic crucifix in urine and a Virgin Mary painted in poop is very important government-sponsored art, but tire tracks on a rainbow flag crosswalk is a hate crime.
Of course nobody burns bibles like the US government.
Appropriate response: "We do not infringe on your political principles in your country so you should not try to get us to do so in ours. If you don't like having Qurans burned, stop doing things that make people want to burn them".
“It’s cool to insult people.”
/SRG
Do you support banning Quran burning, or, like me, do you value freedom of speech even if that results in people being insulted?
It’s not cool to insult people, but outlawing it is fucking stupid.
Actually, fusion bombs now offer civilization the means to burn more than superstitious storybooks in enforcement of civil rights.
Why do your "libertarian translations" always end up sounding like fascism?
Or, in translation: "Grow up, if you want your religion to be respected, you can start by respecting other people's boorishness."
Didn't the Bible teach Mohammedans to stone women to death?
"but Jesus walked out to the Mount of Olives. Then early the next morning he went to the temple. The people came to him, and he sat down and started teaching them.
The religious authorities and the teachers of the Law of Moses brought in a woman who had been caught in bed with a man who wasn't her husband. They made her stand in the middle of the crowd. Then they said, “Teacher, this woman was caught sleeping with a man who isn't her husband. The Law of Moses teaches that a woman like this should be stoned to death! What do you say?”
They asked Jesus this question, because they wanted to test him and bring some charge against him. But Jesus simply bent over and started writing on the ground with his finger.
They kept on asking Jesus about the woman. Finally, he stood up and said, “If any of you have never sinned, then go ahead and throw the first stone at her!” Once again he bent over and began writing on the ground. The people left one by one, beginning with the oldest. Finally, Jesus and the woman were there alone.
Jesus stood up and asked her, “Where is everyone? Isn't there anyone left to accuse you?”
“No sir,” the woman answered.
Then Jesus told her, “I am not going to accuse you either. You may go now, but don't sin anymore.” - John 8
Not originally part of the NT, in all likelihood.

FWIW also not believable as an historical event, given the difference between the process described and actual Jewish trial jurisprudence.
Raise your hand if you remember George Holy War Bush demanding the death sentence for drug bootleggers and a Constitutional Amendment just before voters kicked him out on his ass. Scandinavian Quislings, if memory serves, are as good a model of courage and integrity as Neville Chamberlain.
You mean like this guy?
what's their take on torching their flags?
Or burning a picture of their prophet?
Or drawing a picture of their profit in preparation for the burn.
Back when I lived in Denmark, the only people we ever saw burning anything at protests were Muslim immigrants.

Key phrase: "Give permission to"
My question is: "Why do people who want to burn religious books have to get permission from their government first?"
Word to the weyes. You mean mom from the Big Apple. Unless you’re talking about some place in Egypt or maybe England?
