Lab Leak Theory: 1, Misinformation Cops: 0
Confirmation of Wuhan scientists as "patients zero" makes the lab leak theory look likely—and the misinformation police look like fools.

The lab leak theory of COVID-19's origins gained tremendous legitimacy this week as The Wall Street Journal confirmed independent reports that the earliest outbreak occurred at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in November 2019.
"Patients zero" are now presumed to be three Chinese scientists, including Ben Hu, who worked extensively on gain-of-function research (the manipulation of viruses to make them more dangerous), which was funded by grants from the U.S. government. Those cases occurred in November 2019—well before the Huanan wet market outbreak favored by some in the scientific community as the more likely origin story—and they occurred among the very people one would predict if the virus originated in a lab. This is quite damning, to say the least. Anyone still clinging to an animal origin theory—remember the pangolins and raccoon dogs?—is running up against Occam's razor.
Assuming the intelligence reports are accurate and that Hu and his colleagues did contract the earliest cases of COVID-19, the implications are huge. This would mean that substandard safety protocols at the Wuhan lab probably unleashed a killer pathogen on the rest of the planet, and the Chinese government attempted to cover it up.
China is hardly the only government on the hook; the lab leak also means that research paid for by U.S. tax dollars—and vouched for by coronavirus czar Anthony Fauci, the nation's foremost gain-of-function advocate—is partly to blame for a pandemic that killed millions of people worldwide. Fauci, the very person tasked with leading the U.S. response to COVID-19, was in charge of the government agency that gave Hu, the gain-of-function researcher initially sickened with the disease, millions of dollars to experiment with bat coronaviruses.
Information on the central role played by Fauci's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) was made public by the White Coat Waste Project, a watchdog group that uses public records requests to scrutinize federal funding of science. The Journal cited the organization's work, writing that it confirmed Hu's receipt of U.S. funding.
Concerned about the potential for catastrophic harm, the Obama administration paused federal funding of gain-of-function research in 2014. In late 2022, Fauci sat for a seven-hour deposition, admitting that exceptions had been made for gain-of-function research deemed vital to government scientists. In any case, the pause ended in 2017. Meanwhile, numerous authorities, including the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, have raised concerns about negligence at the Wuhan lab over the years. Vanity Fair and ProPublica described the lab as a "biocomplex in crisis."
If this sounds like a recipe for disaster, well, here we are.
The confirmation of the lab leak theory would also mean that all the mainstream journalists, establishment scientists, and social media moderators who derided its adherents as conspiracy theorists were stunningly wrong. This should serve as a potent lesson to all the entities—many of them state-funded—that have made policing alleged misinformation their seminal issue.
Said cops including some of the most influential voices in the scientific community and expert commentariat. The New York Times' lead coronavirus reporter, Apoorva Mandavilli, previously described the lab leak theory as having racist roots. Vaccine scientist Peter Hotez criticized the comedian Jon Stewart for daring to raise the issue on an episode of Stephen Colbert's show. CNN medical analyst Leana Wen lamented the theory's likelihood of inspiring anti-Chinese animus. Others in the media called the lab leak a "fringe conspiracy."
Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, vigorously banned and suppressed posts about the lab leak before finally abandoning this policy as the theory gained some mainstream acceptance toward the latter half of 2021. As revealed by the Facebook Files, Reason's report on the communication between social media companies and federal health bureaucrats, Facebook took its COVID-19 content cues from the government. All of this behavior—these efforts to shame or suppress individuals who were asking questions about the preferred narratives of government scientists—now seems incredibly short-sighted.
The Biden administration has committed to declassifying intelligence related to the origins of COVID-19, consistent with bipartisan legislation signed earlier this year. Frustratingly, the feds have missed the congressionally imposed deadline, which was last weekend. It is long past time for President Joe Biden and federal health officials to tell the American people the truth so that all responsible parties can ultimately be held accountable; despite the assumptions of so many media commentators, the lab leak theory does not have unilaterally anti-Chinese implications—on the contrary, it is the explanation for COVID-19 that incriminates the U.S. government as well.

Robby doing his level best to distance himself and Reason from their part as active participants in the misinformation campaign.
Who'd believe a coronavirus research lab might be a source of the virus when you can believe it was ignorant, dirty Chinese peasants at a wet market instead. So progressive and enlightened.
Robbie was pretty consistent on the lab leak theory, believing the evidence was being blocked. Bailey waffled back and forth.
So who’s going to pay for the global cost of the pandemic to humanity?
The Chinese whose ineptitude released it?
Or the US, Obama, who took the credit for “freezing” dangerous gain of function research when he shipped it all to China and kept up the funding and oversight?
It was done for the profit motive after all.
Somebody’s got to pay.
Literally no one will pay anything.
Sanctions?
If the payment comes from some subset of humanity, then humanity as a whole can't possibly benefit. If there's no net benefit, why bother trying to force anyone to "pay"?
If your 7 year-old child leaves a metal toy in the garage and it ruins a tier on your car, who pays for the repair?
Your side ran this game for at least 2.5 years. If anything, the people who pay should be those like you, preferably with defenestration.
Which "side" is it that you think I'm on? And on what basis?
Also, which "side" do you figure was runnning the game for whatever 2.5 year period you're imagining? Is it the 2.5 years between when Fauci approved the funding that Daszak forwarded along to Wuhan? Or is it the time when the left was spending (and printing) $Trillions to bail out their state/local affiliates that chose to destroy local economies, small/family businesses, and a generation of children rather than back down from selling the inflated panic needed to get the public to swallow their authoritarian aspirations?
The deflection here is pathetic.
Pretty amazing that the lab leak hypothesis was the one labeled as 'racist', isn't it?
listen to a wokester talk long enough and they will reveal that all their concern about racism was projection of their own internal thoughts.
See: R. Deangelo
Now that chick is racist AF.
Nathaniel Branden raised a similar point about kerchief-wringers who agonize over what "some people" might do if freedom were ever made legal. Those are simply confessions of what they themselves would do if the opportunity presented itself.
Six months ago I lost my job and after that I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a great website which literally saved me. I started working for them online and in a short time after I've started averaging 15k a month... The best thing was that cause I am not that computer savvy all I needed was some basic typing skills and internet access to start.
🙂 AND GOOD LUCK.:)
HERE====)>>> https://www.Salarybiz.com
Unfortunately for you, your assessment is inaccurate. Many of those "kerchief-wringers" actually live consistently with their principles. You ought to learn about them, because you clearly haven't done that.
I accidentally flagged Mike Parsons. Would be nice if there was a way to reverse it.
I don't think there's any chance anyone is following up on those flags.
I honestly still laugh a lot that somehow claiming dirty Chinese nationals couldn't stop eating diseased animals at wet markets was less offensive than a high tech lab operated by Chinese nationals had an accident.
The thought process seemed to imply that somehow it "just happened", as if the disease originated in a meteor that could have landed anywhere, but just happened to have landed in a Chinese wet market that just happened to be next door to the Wuhan lab. But it could have happened ANYWHERE, so ignore any and all inclinations to think that it possibly was either "dirty Chinese nationals [who] couldn’t stop eating diseased animals at wet markets" NOR "a high tech lab operated by Chinese nationals had an accident".
We were supposed to treat it as if it was a random spontaneous generation or parthenogenesis and 100% ignore any aspect of Chinese involvement. Since it just HAPPENED TO HAVE HAPPENED there, and it could have happened anywhere.
So robby finally caught up to the commenters circa 2019
Just wait until he hears about the Hunter Biden laptop....
Local news.
See! Mike and sarc were right the entire time. Those saying this in 2020 are conspiracy theorists!! Luckily facts changed and now they can change their mind while still being right the entire time! Anyone saying too late is a conspiracy theorist!!!
JFree, mtrueman, and the racoon dogs also posting goose eggs on all things COVID
Facts never changed. The same three people were the first to be infected whether or not it was publicly known in the US media.
Saying the "facts changed" would be like saying there was no gravity before Isaac Newton "discovered" it. Imagine the number of injuries in that moment caused by everyone on the planet suddenly being pulled to the ground when they suddenly had weight.
Jesus, you write the stupidest fucking analogies. It's not going to change the fact your side was either wrong or lying about everything from the beginning, and our side was right.
Hell Jerryskids called it a mere month into the pandemic, maybe he should be running the government, because you clowns suck at it.
Again, I don't know what "side" you're imagining I'm on, or why.
If you have it in your head that I was ever in agreement with "team panic", or have some kind of allegiance to the ones who claimed to be "policing misinformation" but were actually attempting to silence those who questioned or dissented from what now seems to have possibly been an organized cover-up, then I'd have to recommend you spend 45 seconds in communication with anyone who actually knows me.
Since that's not going to be a realistic possibility, an alternate solution might be for you to uncurl your spine; the sphincter encircling your neck may be constricting the flow of blood and oxygen to the parts of the brain in which critical thinking takes place in those capable of the feat.
Maybe try posting an actual substantive response instead of that useless hand-waving, and you might get something equally meaty in return.
Oh yeah Robby? Not good enough. Overt demands a personal apology for you being wrong. So until you apologize, the fact that you've changed your mind doesn't matter. So apologize to Overt. You really hurt his feelings. And it has to be a good apology, just how he wants it, or it doesn't count.
Robbie was never wrong. He always pushed the evidence that the lab leak theory had merit moron. It was you who denied it along with the other predictable state leftists here. See for example:
https://reason.com/2021/10/11/new-york-times-pandemic-misinformation-covid-19-facebook-tech
This makes you look stupid. You realize you covered for this issue and can’t stand being wrong, trying to subsume Robbie as being on your team for this issue. It is hilarious.
Robbie's been pretty solidly against the idea of 'Misinformation Cops' for a good long while now. I think that's what made him more open to the idea. Perhaps a more apt cite:
https://reason.com/2021/06/04/lab-leak-misinformation-media-fauci-covid-19/
Still, if you look back through the archives, Robby and Ron were still a solid 12-18 months behind the commentariat on this one.
Robbie was always wrong and he's still wrong because he hasn't apologized for being wrong, and since no apology will be good enough he will always be wrong.
It’s very important to be quick to believe any story that puts Democrats, liberals, progressives, transgender people in a bad light.
Reserving one’s judgement until there is actual evidence is a telltale sign of being a lefty sympathizer.
Telltale? Dude, it's like burning a brand into your forehead!
Can you guys cope harder about being wrong on every major issue?
Watch, none of the usual suspects will acknowledge I posted an anti-Biden comment today:
https://reason.com/2023/06/21/arkansas-ban-on-gender-transition-treatments-for-minors-ruled-unconstitutional/?comments=true#comment-10119430
That's because any comment that goes against the narrative doesn't exist. It's the equivalent of sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting "La la la la I can't hear you la la la la!"
"It’s the equivalent of sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting “La la la la I can’t hear you la la la la!”
This is a little rich coming from the retard who likes to boast how he muted 3/4s of the commentariat for disagreeing with him.
Self-awareness isn't a sarcasmic super power.
Considering that I was agreeing with Jesse's point and reinforcing it, it does seem a bit ironic of a response.
You two really need to stop jerking each other off. Christ, Laursen whines more about being criticized more than his cutesy "conservative victims" pejorative ever would be close to reality.
One comment? After 3 years? Yet you call everyone who has criticized Trump but not fallen for every lie a conservative. So confused by your double standards.
Also show you are capable of citing your past comments yet never could cite your criticism prior to today. Weird.
Yup, just checked. JesseAz, RMac will leave a comment on my comment even if I am writing about something as apolitical as food. But I say something negative about a Democrat — silence.
Still no acknowledgement.
Somebody broke sarcasmic again.
JesseAz wants an apology, too.
Cite? Where did I ask for one dumbass?
Who cares? I wouldn't piss in his mouth if he was dying of thirst.
Nobody wants to drink the sludge that you leak out.
When I want your opinion I'll ask your mom.
This is the guy claiming he just wants honest argumentation.
Still 830 here. I dont get drunk at breakfast like you.
I see a lot of anger from the always wrong crowd this morning.
You don’t get that trying to delegitimize people’s valid concerns and opinions through snarky bitching is why so many people give you shit, do you?
But I was told it was just another Right-Wing conspiracy theory of Right-Wing nutjobs and MAGA hat wearing freak-jobs.
Oh wait; that’s right. That’s how [WE] gangster mobs operate (i.e. Democrats). They bully and name call anything that goes against their [WE] gang authority pointless and unsubstantiated names. It’s all a perceived “King of the Mountain” game and whoever gets the biggest collection of “Kings” packing Gov-Guns wins. Honesty, Integrity, Liberty and Justice have no room in the ballroom of [WE] mobsters RULE ideology.
Nobody ever claimed the lab leak theory was unfounded conspiracy theory nut-jobbery or that the science was settled on the virus being of natural origin. Just ask them.
Yeap. They never ruled it out. They were just protecting The Science.
https://unherd.com/2021/05/how-facebook-censored-the-lab-leak-theory/
Sorry but when you're banning people from discussing anything for discussing the possibility of a lab leak you've ruled it out as a possibility even if you don't say so explicitly.
lol.... Sure, Sure -- A simple google search returns.
No, Science Clearly Shows That COVID-19 Wasn't Leaked From A Wuhan Lab
The Wuhan Lab Leak Hypothesis Is A Conspiracy Theory, Not Science
Fauci blasts Rand Paul's Wuhan lab funding claim: 'You do not know what you're talking about'
Rand Paul has a *very* wacky theory
'For People Who Say It's A Conspiracy Theory...': Rand Paul Gives His
I think "just ask them" was a /sarc flag...
TJ is a very serious guy.
What's really amazing is that there was a point at which the "Believers in Science (TM)" were certain that the virus had definitely come from some wild animal and also could be eradicated if only people "locked down" hard enough for long enough.
Who did they expect was going to lock down all the bats and pangolins? Even before it was discovered the bug could also be carried by dogs, cats, rats, deer, and god only knows what else?
Some people I know even seemed to believe that it could only transmit via surfaces and also was "the most contagious virus ever encountered". Everything about the early "science" was so far off from the general conditions for most other respiratory infections, and possibly every known variant of corona, that it's hard to fathom how anyone actually bought in to any claim made before June 2020.
“Certain”? Cite please, because I don’t recall anything stronger than a “most likely” when anyone put forth the animal origin theory.
Maybe you should have paid attention to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube removing/hiding content?
Do you personally know any west-coast Democrats, or people who work in tech? In the northeast, Ivy League grads or those who read and believe the NYT (except for the corrections/retractions section) share a lot of the same siloing habits.
In the spring of 2020, when there was no publicly discussed alternate to the bat/pangolin "wet market" origin story, one of the frequently re-shared "arguments" in favor of lockdowns on the order of what NZ and Melbourne Australia were enacting was that if everyone would just comply without questions, the inability to spread would literally eradicate the virus in a matter of months (never mind that it took 50-100 years of universal inoculation to accomplish that with Smallpox in just North America)
As a believer in ideas which were fundamental to liberal thought from the times of Plato and Aristotle until the mid-late 1990's, I'm somehow the most "right wing" person a number of my friends know; I even occasionally get texts/emails prefaces with "you're the only person I know that it's safe to share this with". In a single weekend visit with some of my closest friends, I saw them encourage their own kids to believe that the people in another part of their state as "less than" or "irrelevant" because they lived in ZIP codes which don't generally elect Dems in recent years and also been told "don't be a dickhead" for making a single mention of one of the more egregious instances of civil rights violation/abuse of power being carried out by the Biden administration at that time (the less said about the accusation that I'd fabricated the idea that CA had just passed an insane law micromanaging retail store toy department signage, the better).
Hell, I give you all the credit in the world for being the first commenter to mention the lab about month in, and that the wet market story was bullshit.
Still can’t figure out why the U.S. would pay a Chinese lab to figure out how to weaponize the coronavirus. Sorta like FDR hiring Nazis to design and build American bombers.
They weren’t. They were doing research to try to get out ahead in being ready with vaccines and treatments when a deadly coronavirus came along.
The most recent reporting is that the Chinese military was doing research in weaponizing bay viruses, and kept it secret from the international virus research community.
"China is hardly the only government on the hook; the lab leak also means that research paid for by U.S. tax dollars—and vouched for by coronavirus czar Anthony Fauci, the nation's foremost gain-of-function advocate—is partly to blame for a pandemic that killed millions of people worldwide. I wonder if we're already paying communist nations for our national security too :)... Talk about selling out the USA.
Sure, partially to blame. If the reporting is true, the PLA is mostly to blame.
Fauci should be shamed, ridiculed. Not going to join in the whole right-wing enthusiasm for making hyperbolic statements about hanging Fauci.
Funding gain of research was made illegal under Obama fuckwad. But protect your science god.
No one was worried that you might take a position critical of Fauci. So you can relax about that.
Got 'em. Mission accomplished.
Hanging him by the neck might be going a little too far. I'd settle for hanging him by the short-hairs.
Our 'elites' aren't quite as brilliantly expert as they've been letting on.
...but they all got their Ph.D. in Commie-Education studying Commie-Ideology.
Did we ever believe they were?
Says the guy who knelt before the AMA, WPATH, CDC, DOJ...
Because gain of function research was banned. Easier to skirt the law when its done in China. This is why Fauci was so quick to dismiss the lab leak theory, didn't want to get caught.
Or do our nuclear weapons research.
There is no confirmation that anyone in that lab was patient zeros. That is merely an assertion by US government officials – now being published by the bastion of elite money speaking.
And of course that now fits an entirely different narrative that US government officials colluded with the CCP to create a deadly virus (or perhaps a nothing burger) and unleashed it on the world so that something.
It was those darn Christian Nationalists, I tells ya! They’ll be the end of us all…
And 'MAGA Communists'.
"And of course that now fits an entirely different narrative that US government officials colluded with the CCP to create a deadly virus (or perhaps a nothing burger) and unleashed it on the world so that something."
You mean a narrative spewed by like 5 people? That's what you are using to try and deflect from the story?
This is quite simply false. There were reports early on in the pandemic that a doctor in Wuhan had become ill and tried to warn officials of the potential danger and that he was officially reprimanded and warned not to continue to make statements in public concerning the issue. This represents independent confirmation long before the party line was determined in Washington and the marching orders were handed out to the media propagandists. Try again.
Im very well aware of that story of the whistleblower doctor. It’s not quite what you seem to think it is. His whistleblowing is about his attempt to prevent the LOCAL Wuhan health bureaucrats from trying to cover up the virus. His aim – his target audience – was the CHINESE health authorities – even though they too squashed him like a bug when the story/authority went to the next level of govt a couple days after the first whistle blew. It had nothing to do with the possible origins of the virus as is obvious when one realizes that the lab is run by the Chinese government not by the Wuhan government – and his whistleblowing text was specifically about 7 cases of SARS originating from the food market. His case was really about free speech.
And there is nothing false about my comment. There is I REPEAT ZERO ‘confirmation’ about those three lab scientists being patient zeros. US government officials do not make medical diagnoses of Chinese citizens in any sense that might be deemed serious. Those are speculations – trolls. Probably not even intended for Chinese foreign affairs government people – who likewise do not make medical diagnoses of Chinese people (and certainly not post-facto). No – those US government officials are talking to US journalists – from a highly US-establishment type news source – targeted to a US audience.
Nor do I diminish the credibility of the story of covid as lab-origin. I repeat – that story is credible. IT IS NOT CONFIRMED. Words mean something except to lying little nihilists like your ilk.
With that understanding, and with the understanding that "confirmation" in the news reporting business does not mean the same thing as "proof" in the scientific world, then we can agree upon your original post to that extent. In the journalism world "confirmation" means "supporting information from an independent source." I think you will find that there are more than two independent sources "confirming" this story now, although one may always be skeptical about their reliability or underlying motivations. I also remain skeptical about deep state sources in the context of the shifting official narrative from "don't piss off China" during the start of the epidemic to the more recent "China evil again - release the Kraken!"
My concern is they may all be referencing back to the same anonymous source. I wasn't terribly interested in any of this until Matt Taibbi's name appeared on the byline of one of the stories about patient 0. The more I unravel that, the less credible that evidence seems to be. A shame. I really liked him.
I'm slowly returning back to my default position of we'll probably never know. Or at least not until some powerful folks leave the planet.
Jam it up your ass along with your PANIC flag, you slimy pile of shit.
There was no wet market vector and your post is nothing but copium-gorging.
Here's just one to start you off on your search for truth:

It really is a great example of modern discourse. The obvious and most intuitive answer about the origins of COVID was immediately shut down as being a conspiracy theory on the basis that such position was politically detrimental and, more importantly, bureaucratically detrimental. Yet, this obvious ploy was ignored by many and the absurd was pushed.
“This should serve as a potent lesson to all the entities—many of them state-funded—that have made policing alleged misinformation their seminal issue” … but it won’t …
There! I fixed it for you. If the “most influential voices in the scientific community and expert commentariat” were actually interested in policing misinformation, they would not go about it in the way they went about it. They are STILL not interested in preventing the spread of misinformation or countering it with factual information. What they’re interested in is promoting the progressivist, socialist party narrative. And they do that very well. Belated "oops! we made an honest mistake" reporting doesn't undo the damage that was done or un-promote the party narrative they were propagating at the time.
Good article: https://www.bmj.com/content/374/bmj.n1656.long
And yet NONE of the major name "scientists" named in this article will experience ANY adverse consequences for their participation in the coverup and "disinformation" disinformation campaign. They were all "official" scientific bureaucrats who were simply doing their official jobs at the time. Nothing bad will happen to Fauci either. Government officials are immune from adverse consequences unless they happen to anger other officials during a period of partisan weaponization of the official apparatus.
At least Trump lost his job partly owing to his ineptness on COVID, so there's that 🙂
Can you be specific on the inept actions? Do you mean letting governors set state policy? 90% of the ineptitude was the media, state government, and the CDC. Trumps 2 faults were not firing Fauci (although he tried to bring in counter voices like Scott Atlas) and agreeing to sign CARES (super majority and veto proof).

By all means fact-check these quotes.
So nothing other than comments, asshole? Imagine my surprise that the TDS-addled shit pile can point to no actions whatxsoever.
Fuck off and die, asshole.
He failed to take the Governors to court over their total trampling of the rights of Americans unfortunate enough to live in those states where clearly unconstitutional and ineffective "emergency orders" were allowed to last for months or years. He allowed his CDC to justify those unconstitutional actions by totally ignoring all of the pre-pandemic planning that assumed that drastic emergency responses would do significant harm without altering the course of the disaster even a little bit. I would call that a massive failure on his part - the buck clearly did not stop on his desk. It's funny how the "conservatives" only seem to cite the Constitution when they don't WANT to interfere in state policies but ignore the Constitution whenever they disapprove of state policies. No fundamental principles to see here ... move along ... move along
How dare he not induce unfounded panic. That is your inept citations? The panic was the fucking problem shrike. Assholes like you trading panic for loss of rights and property.
Is that what you thought he was doing? There was plenty of unfounded panic already and he did nothing to calm the fears. Instead he floated "Two Weeks to Flatten the Curve" malarkey that every reputable epidemiologist since the Spanish Flu knew was ridiculous. Meanwhile he allowed Fauci to fund dangerous experiments in Wuhan on his watch. Nope, not buying it but keep trying if it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Read the replies above.
Okay, now how about some relevant news? I, and many others, knew this 3 years ago. Welcome to the party, Robbie.
The "experts" have been proven wrong about every single facet of the virus. Everything.
For sound economic perspective go to https://honesteconomics.substack.com/
Given the track record of the Peoples Army, and the Central Committee of the PRC, they may try to settle the COVID-19 class action with a lump sum payment of a million Uyghurs.
"This should serve as a potent lesson to all the entities—many of them state-funded—that have made policing alleged misinformation their seminal issue."
There will be no lesson.
"Getting it right" is not the point of misinformation efforts.
Being the only voice (or only official voice) allowed to speak, is the point.
Well said, sadly enough.
Current response is that only “bitter clingers” will bring this up because, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”
Prevarication and conflicts of interest notwithstanding.
This is ludicrous. There's not a single scientific source cited here. No physicians. Wall St Journal?? Matt Taibbi?? The FBI(which has no intelligence capability in China)??? Where are the overseas intelligence agencies, scientists & physicians to confirm any of this?
https://public.substack.com/p/first-people-sickened-by-covid-19
Care to fight the investigation if you’re so inclined? You gotta do better than an ad hominem attack.
Ad hominem is their go to, especially when they’ve got nothing else.
Go fuck yourself, Covidian.
“despite the assumptions of so many media commentators, the lab leak theory does not have unilaterally anti-Chinese implications—on the contrary, it is the explanation for COVID-19 that incriminates the U.S. government as well.”
Which strongly suggests that this is the true reason the lab leak theory was suppressed, doesn’t it?
Yes, US probably culpable, both in the event and the cover up. However, China also culpable for typical incompetence and/or dis-interest in safety... and cover up. Probably the most significant collaboration between the two countries in 75 years.
Fauci et al responsible for more deaths in 2-3 years than all civilian firearms in ~50 years.
Then add the economic disaster from the completely unnecessary governments' responses, fueled by the cover up.
NOTHING is a bigger issue than excessive government power! NOTHING!
And that's assuming the numbers weren't cooked to maintain the "new normal", "Great Reset" social controls, as well as pad hospital payment numbers for COVID deaths that were more likely caused by intubation sepsis and pneumonia.
This is exactly what I was saying in the summer of 2020 and ever since.
If people on "my side" need to be defenstrated to make up for the cost of the pandemic response, then I'd expect to see you in the next window over based on the content of this comment.
I don't agree with your idea of throwing people out of windows for having been wrong, but if you really believe that and are so quick to make baseless assumptions on what I think about an issue you're apparently never seen me address, it probably wouldn't be a net negative if you were to give some real thought to jumping yourself.
Except we were right, and always were, so you can kindly jump off that building yourself, faggot.
Like the previous China flu viruses, I took it to be a bio-warfare attack. At airports, ALL Asians wore masks, so I followed their lead. Jack London's "The Unparalleled Invasion" was a 1910 story about the "other" nations ganging up to wipe out everyone in China with bio-weapons at about the time of the Carter Administration. The Chinese are sensitive to that sort of thing, and have a tendency to hold onto grudges and publish titles like "Book of Humiliations." If it had been a feeler attack, would the Kleptocracy have reacted any differently?
A biowarfare attack by whom? On whom? Could you be a LITTLE less vague?
Probably not, as he seems mentally impaired.
Let me just point out here, that although this was most likely a fuck-up, if the CCP had done it deliberately, it wouldn't even be the worst thing they've ever done. Some 77 million people were murdered by the CCP under Mao.

Yes, but it wasn’t a racist genocide. Something about breaking eggs to make an omelette.
The CCP didn't release the virus deliberately. But when it leaked from the lab, their response was psychopathic - they shut down internal travel from Wuhan to try to limit the spread within China, kept international flights going so it spread to the rest of the world, and through WHO lied that it wasn't contagious between humans until it was too late for quarantines.
The "bombshell" is three Wuhan Lab workers are "presumed to be" patients zero?
Jebus, this was just stupid, Soave. Both you and the WSJ should be ashamed.
What’s so “stupid” about telling the truth? That’s nothing to be ashamed of. Maybe you can care to show us what really happened, oh wise guy? Was it the raccoon dogs this whole time? Your personal attacks won't change reality; now state your case.
The "truth" isn't "lab leak." It's not zoonosis, though there's still more evidence for zoonosis than "lab leak."
We (collectively) don't yet know "what really happened." It's only braindead little dipshits like you who think you do.
That is not true. We haven't found the animal where the virus originated from, and any wet market animals have been shown to not be similar to the samples in the lab. We have found on the other that Wuhan lab scientists were the first to get sick. That points to a lab leak origin.
If it takes "braindead little dipshits" to accept common sense, that we all should strive to be like these brilliant people. You've been deceived to think otherwise.
As far as I'm aware the story about the Wuhan lab scientists being patient 0 is attributed to anonymous sources. I have yet to see anything to verify it is in fact true. If it is true that would be a slam dunk but I can't rely on it yet.
All of the "new viruses" are lab leak viruses not "animal crossovers". The sars the ebola the hiv the legoinairres the lyme ....
The list is extensive.
Anyone with 2 watts knew right away it was the Wuhan lab - what surprises me the most is the amount of YEARS the government and it's lackey stooges can lie in the face of evidence slamming and pounding them to bits....
No jab no mask no taken to task.
Pure blood pure skin checkin' in.
Don't fall for the next one people, they are going to do it again.
Occams razor is literally white supremacy. Along with a “sense of urgency” and “writing things down.”
No, almost all new flu viruses for the last century have been traced to animals, more often than not in China. Where do you think the Hong Kong flu got its name?
What's the name of patient zero?
No, Hu.
That's what I'm asking.
Hu is patient zero.
That's what I wanna know, who is patient zero?
Hu
Patient zero?
Hu
What are you asking me for?
" all the mainstream journalists, establishment scientists, and social media moderators who derided its adherents as conspiracy theorists were stunningly wrong."
Those condemning the lab leak theory as a "conspiracy" were more than "stunningly wrong", they were, in fact, actively participating in the conspiracy promoting Covid's cause as a "natural" occurrence. A possible rule of thumb: submit accusers of impropriety on any political, scientific, or social stage to increased scrutiny of their own behavior.
Lab Leak Theory: 1,
Misinformation Cops: -2
-1 for lying -2 for censoring
