Brickbat: Dead Again

In 2018, Jaxen Dyson's father died. Despite having only a last name in common with his dad, the Social Security Administration declared Jaxen dead. It took her several months, but Jaxen's mother thought she'd cleared the matter up. She even got a letter from the Social Security Administration saying Jaxen was very much alive. But when she did her taxes last year, the IRS refused to let her claim Jaxen as a dependent because government records show he is dead. It's also refusing to let her claim his this year. The IRS blames the Social Security Administration for the problem, and the Social Security Administration blames the IRS.

I'm sure the IRS and the SS admin will come to an agreement and put the blame where it belongs. The Post Office.
No it is the citizens fault, for living to long. Canada has found a solution, government assisted suicide. Really cuts down on those government health and retirement benefits of the aged.
If there is blame involved, TRUMP!! TRUMP!! TRUMP!!
"What about _____________?"
No tax payments for no social security payments. Good tradeoff for Jax since there won't be any social security waiting for him anyway.

Riggghht. If he has any money to tax, they'll figure out he's alive soon enough. That or they'll charge him with some kind of fraud when he tries to get a job.
Kafka's like, "fuck it, I can't compete with this real-life stuff; I'm going to write soap operas."
Got it. "Vor dem Gesetz" is now "Around the Water Cooler."
Jaxen Dyson's not dead! He's sleeping! (And his mother is having to parrot that line, over and over and over again!)
Jaxen must be a Republican activist.
The Nazi's Witch-hunting organization is in full-effect.
Better than a "so called journalist," huh?
Can you convict a dead person of bank robbery? Jaxen might have a new career.
I'd be careful about that. You could also blow Jaxen away and claim that you didn't kill him because he was already dead.
Typical. In my experience working with people in the federal government they aren't interested in fixing mistakes. They're interested in ducking responsibility and assigning blame. Which is understandable given the fact that they have zero incentive to make things right being that their "customers" can't go anywhere else. As a result no one in either agency will lift a finger to make this right until they first decide who to point the finger at. This could go unresolved for years.
"They’re interested in ducking responsibility and assigning blame."
AKA "duck and fuck."
Is that like “hump and dump” or "seduce and stalk"?
Oh shoot. That's dating sites. Never mind.
don't pay at all.
When he gets older he can get paid under the table, file a tax return showing all the employment tax that is due but not deducted from wages, have the tax return rejected because he is dead, and legally avoid paying tax.
