Brickbat: Baby, You Can't Drive Your Car

Anticipating possible electricity shortages this winter, the Swiss Federal Council has drafted a set or ordinances to limit the use of electricity. One of the proposals would ban most uses of electric vehicles, confining them only to necessary travel, such as to buy groceries or to go to the doctor. That rule would come into effect at stage three of an electricity emergency, as would limits on retail store hours and a mandate that thermostats in most private or public rooms be set below 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

I'm sure anybody who has an electric car also has a solar array to keep their car charged up without relying on the grid, so I'm not sure this is a useful law.
I get paid over 190$ per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I’d be able to do it but my best friend earns over 10k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless. Heres what I’ve been doing..

How would solar help... They are not banning the charging of electric cars, they are banning the driving of electric cars.
He is on target. The law's purpose is to not stress the power grid, so home solar should exempt those cars from the law.
It's not a difficult concept. Only takes a few seconds' thinking.
Cash generating easy and fast method to work in part time and earn extra $15,000 or even more than this online. by working in 1ce85 my spare time. I made $17250 in my previous (ste-03) month and i am very happy now because of this job. you can try this now by follow

No, he’s not on target.
1. The government doesn’t know who is capable of charging their car at home – so ban everyone. It’s called ‘legibility’.
2. You aren’t home during the day so you can’t charge your car at the home it’s not at. Most people don’t have batteries in their solar install.
3. No, most people with electric cars can't also afford solar panels.
He's on target that the law is useless and affects everybody, which is how most laws work.
The reporting here is just a flat-out lie, though. There is no proposal to ban the use of electric cars. There is a proposal - and only a proposal, not one that will be adopted - to limit the use of electric cars for anything but essential journeys in an incredibly extreme situation where the choice is between keeping e.g. life support systems running in hospitals, and charging cars.
The US, of course, already has laws which would achieve the same thing by reserving fossil fuels to power hospitals and similar, if it ever came to such a state. Which it won't.
Speaking of lies “The reporting here is just a flat-out lie, though. There is no proposal to ban the use of electric cars.” The article said “One of the proposals would ban most uses of electric vehicles….”
Sarcasm? If you were being serious, no, most people do not have personal solar arrays. First, the weather conditions are not ideal in Switzerland for solar. Lots of clouds, mountain shadows, etc. Second, the target market for electric cars are city-dwellers who live in apartments or very small houses who may not have any rights to access to their own roof. Third, even among those who own their roof, they may be prohibited from installing anything on it by zoning laws that preserve the "historic look" (which, in fairness, is important to their tourism industry). Fourth, unless you've got a really big battery array, the recharging has to happen during the day - the same time that the car will be most away from the home, either in your parking lot at work, the grocery store, etc.
Jerryskids usually exaggerates something silly into something sillier, reducto ad absurdum or something.
Excellent work, Mike. I admire your work since because to one simple online job, I’m now making over $35,100 each month! I am aware that you are currently earning a sizable ecd20 sum of money online from a starting capital of $28,800.

Smart cars and smart homes. What could go wrong?
I have even managed $20,000 per calendar month by simply working some easy tasks from my apartment. As I had lost my office career, I was very disturbed but luckily I’ve discovered this best on-line career that’s why I’m capable of earning a thousand USD just from home. Each person can avail this best offer & collect more greenbacks online

Dumb politicians. But I repeat myself.
This is how governments solve the problems they cause, by putting people in danger.
I’ve made $1250 so far this week working online and I’m a full time student. I’m using an online business opportunity I heard about and I’AM made such great money. It’s really user friendly and I’m just so happy that I found out about it. Here’s what I do for more information simply.

Is this a World Economic Forum pilot program? I keep hearing this is just the sort of control they’re working toward, plus this is right in their back yard.
Why not stop reading Nazi propaganda?
Are you saying this is a good thing?
No, I'm saying not reading Nazi propaganda is a good thing.
So what you’ve said, Davedork, is that the WEF is Nazi propaganda.
Dave is busy ironing his brown shirt.
No, that would use electricity and require skill. More likely he puts it under his mattress every night, which has the side benefit of adding more brown stains.
Davedave is a Dick
No, I haven't said anything of the sort, you drooling brownshirted moron.
Translation: Swiss Federal Council: "Because we didn't adequately plan energy needs for this winter, you are all going to have to be punished."

Cool article. I heard about this type of tourism and it is quite interesting. But I don't like traveling by car. Most of all, I like planes. But it seems to me that this method of travel is very expensive, mainly because of the price of air tickets. But recently I found a way for cheap business travel around the world. I contacted a company that helps book tickets for international flights and received a significant discount of 70% per flight to Vancouver. This was a discovery for me. After all, I could not even imagine that this was possible.

can't they just ski everywhere anyway?
Downhill, at least, everywhere is downhill from Switzerland. Getting back after a few drinks is hard work.
the lifts operate on electricity too ... ratten!
Some old lifts used to run on diesel. Might be a few left.
true ... I heard there were like 14 gallons of diesel left on earth or something

Because of the ridiculously inexpensive electricity from Germany generated from Russian natural gas (around .03/kwh), much of Europe stopped investing in their own power generation. Switzerland is one of the countries that became highly dependent on imports of electricity from Germany.
Of course, it's the EU sanctions and the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline that are causing the gas and electricity shortage, not Vladimir Putin. Even France was planning on shutting down its nuclear power plants and relying heavily on German electricity. They just announced they're going to build more new nuclear power plants.
Fuck off, Kremlinbot.
Art Stone is the correct commentor.
Fairy tale solar and wind were backed up by cheap Russian natural gas.
NOw that there are sanctions on Russia and sabotage to the nordstream pipeline, the shortages are coming.
Solar and wind have demonstrated they cannot fuel an industrial economy.
Nuclear is the long term solution and gas from Israel would be a short term solution.
However the Biden administration blocked the funding of the Israel to Cyprus pipeline.
