Brickbat: No Use

The government of Canada has announced it will ban the import and manufacture of most single-use plastic products later this year and ban the sale of such items next year. The ban will cover straws, utensils, and checkout bags. "After that, businesses will begin offering the sustainable solutions Canadians want, whether that's paper straws or reusable bags," said Steven Guilbeault, minister of environment and climate change.

Just wait until they find out plastic stops the sigma variant.
Plastic forks were all the rage during the pandemic.
So were single use plastic grocery bags.
and plastic syringes
Fascists will always do fascism.
Will they still sell garbage bags in Canada? I've never heard of a garbage bag being used more than once so wouldn't it be the ultimate single use plastic bag? At least the free store bags can be reused in the smaller bins in the bathroom. Just like Cali, people will buy heavier plastic bags that use more plastic to place their used toothpaste tubes and other toiletries in.
Outlaw garbage bags? I expect the Canadian government to outlaw garbage first. Imagine how righteous they can feel when people will have to recycle, compost, or just eat every bit of stuff we evil Americans throw in the ocean.

Coming soon to Canadia: causing sadness will soon be illegal. Any person found guilty of saying or doing something that makes a Canadian feel sad will be sentenced to guilty feelings, and given a proscribed number of "soories" to deliver in a public forum. Note that government officials, first nations peoples, those who identify as womyn, and anyone else on the short bus are exempt from liability for inducing sadness.
