Three More States Will Let You Carry a Concealed Weapon Without a Permit
Plus: Ukraine war developments, Biden's new tax scheme, and more...

More states drop permit requirements for concealed carry. Two Midwestern states—Ohio and Indiana—have just stopped requiring a permit to carry a concealed firearm in public. These changes come on the heels of Alabama doing the same.
This brings the number of states that allow permit-free concealed carry up to 24.
Makes sense, right? If you can legally own a firearm, you should be able legally to take it outside your home. Conversely, "may issue" rules—which give law enforcement agencies veto power over whether you can carry a gun—don't really jibe with the right to bear arms (and also seem likely to result in discriminatory enforcement). "If you have to ask permission, it's a privilege, not a right," as J.D. Tuccille says.
But not everyone is pleased. "Opening the door to unrestricted concealed carry seems like a bad idea," wrote Tuscaloosa News photo editor Gary Cosby Jr. Permitless concealed carry laws "make gun violence worse," John Feinblatt of Everytown for Gun Safety told CNN. A Daily Beast piece by Michael B. Cohen calls it "absolute madness."
To make his point, Cohen points out that Ohio's concealed carry permit had required only eight hours of safety training while "obtaining a license to cut hair in Ohio requires the completion of at 1,500 hours enrolled in a cosmetology school program," even though guns are more dangerous than haircuts. That seems more like an argument against Ohio's licensing rules for hairdressers than anything else.
Anyway, I'm puzzled by the idea that not requiring permits for carrying guns will somehow result in violent anarchy.
People commit gun crimes whether concealed carry is allowed or not, and whether the state says they need a permission slip to do so or not. That's the whole thing about being a criminal: not following the law. That means the only people burdened by obtaining a concealed carry permit—paying a fee, taking classes, and anything else required—are law-abiding citizens.
Concealed carry permits don't stop crime; they just increase the burden on non-criminals. And this could put people in more danger, since it likely means fewer law-abiding people carrying weapons outside their homes and fewer chances for such people to intervene if a thief or maniac starts shooting or threatening to shoot innocent people.
Some will argue that concealed carry can lead to more crimes of passion outside the home—situations where someone doesn't plan to commit violence but blows up and then uses a gun in public because they have it on them. But does anyone really think that violent hothead in question would be less likely to go off if he'd paid a fee to the state earlier that year? Or if he had only taken eight hours of gun safety classes?
Meanwhile, concealed-carry rules invite police action against anyone carrying—or "suspected" of carrying—a gun outside the home.
For what it's worth, we don't have a ton of data on this subject. But a 2018 American College of Surgeons study found "no statistically significant association between the liberalization of state-level firearm carry legislation over the last 30 years and the rates of homicides or other violent crime."
Gun-control advocates "point to states that saw crime rise after passing permitless carry laws," notes Cleveland.com. "However, there is no analysis about what role, if any, permitless carry played in any of these crime trends, which are influenced by other factors besides conceal-carry laws."
While there's little research available on the impact of permitless-carry laws, there is significantly more on the effect of loosening state conceal-carry permit rules, specifically for states that move from a "may issue" state where officials can decide whether to issue a conceal-carry permit to a "shall issue" or "right-to-carry" state where officials must issue a license unless the applicant is a felon or has some other disqualification….But the conclusions reached by these studies have been all over the map, and there's been an ongoing debate for decades about the effects -- if any -- of loosening state gun-control laws.

Biden's new tax scheme for wealthy households would collect on assets even if they aren't sold. "If enacted, the measure would likely face legal challenges to its constitutionality under the 16th Amendment," notes The Wall Street Journal.
Under current law, capital gains are taxed only when they are realized—when the asset is sold—and they are taxed at lower rates than ordinary income. When people die, those unrealized gains aren't taxed as income. Instead, heirs pay capital-gains taxes only on the gains since the prior owner's death, and only when the heirs sell. They do often owe estate taxes on their net worth at death.
Under Biden's new proposal, unrealized gains would be taxed.

More states drop permit requirements for concealed carry.
Left pundits and politicos, start your hot take with no follow up later engines.
Hot takes?
That was actually pretty good; but at first I thought it was about enlarged prostates and "some weird trick" about shoving something up your ass before going to bed.

Concealed carry permits don't stop crime; they just increase the burden on non-criminals
“And your point?” - Democrats
This isn’t what the founders wanted when they wrote,
“ A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,”
Or they would have said, “letting anyone carry guns anywhere, being necessary to the security of a free State”
They did say that later. The right to bear arms shall not be infringed.
Not later. At the same time in context meant to be taken together.
Why else would they say it?
Do you think the first line was just meaningless rambling?
Didn't expect so many idiots trading essential liberty for temporary security.
Now go follow your leader.
Well then, let's review the common practice when the 1A was contemporary ... people did not need permission from government to own and carry a gun. Seems, they meant it when they said the right to own and bear arms shall not be infringed.
“This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty…. The right of self defense is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.” – St. George Tucker, Blackstone’s Commentaries on the Laws of England, 1803
You can’t explain the context of a well regulated militia, so you ignore it. Ignorance is no excuse.
Requiring demonstration of responsibility and proficiency, regulation, is not an infringement on the right to bear arms. It is a reasonable criteria necessary to the security of the state.
"Well regulated" had a different meaning vs. today's common use. According to the Oxford English Dictionary well regulated was an adjective describing something as being properly tuned, calibrated, or well functioning. Even today it isn't uncommon to use "regulated" to describe the alignment of a firearms sights.
This meaning makes a whole lot more sense in the context of the Bill of Rights, a document written to guarantee individual liberties and protect the people from the oppression of the government.
A "properly functioning" militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right to bear arms shall not be infringed.
I suggest you read Heller. This has been well researched and documented.
A properly functioning militia is not one which includes the irresponsible or untrained.
In context the founders meant, “A responsible and trained populace being necessary to the security of a free state, the right to bear arms shall not be infringed”.
Clearly advocating criteria / certification for gun ownership,
It is only because children and the insane cannot be properly trained and responsible ie. certified, that nobody is arguing that the right to bear arms applies to them.
So, is your point that every male between the ages of 17 and 45 should be free to carry a gun?
10 U.S. Code § 246 - Militia: composition and classes
The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
From what I can see, this law was passed in 1956. It shouldn't be relevant to the textural meaning of the Constitution, since it was written over 150 years later.
My point is that the founders of the constitution intended that the right to bear arms is dependent upon meeting criteria resembling that for the militia of the day.
Not simply that anyone should carry guns anywhere as irresponsible people today suggest.
And the criteria for a militia 250 years ago was effectively an able-bodied male, probably with a minimum age of about 13. Shall we conclude your point is that you are sexist and do not want women to own and carry firearms? Or do you believe that nearly all able-bodied people can carry guns?
Are you suggesting that the right to bear arms applies to children and the insane?
No? Then you recognize that authority is commensurate with responsibility which the founders recognized as a prerequisite before the right to bear arms.
A permit, certification demonstrates meeting this criteria.
Indiana doesn't require any training for a license anyway, and it's good for life.
However, the Constitutional Carry bill is badly written crap that will have to be amended moving forward to cover issues including the GFSZA, since a "reciprocity license" isn't a license to carry in THIS state, which the Feds require if you're near a school.

Well, I wouldn't try anything that could draw blood or leave a corpse, so, pistol-ficking is right out for me.
Never been with a girl who has nails?
I wouldn't want to need plastic surgery after a really hot romp.
You don’t know how to live, boy.
I know how to live to next day, at least.
For what it's worth, we don't have a ton of data on this subject.
No one in the position to really research this wants that data.
Excellent point. If you know the answer you are looking for isn't what you will find, you don't look.
Kind of like election fraud.
ENB likes her data the way I pick my books to read - by the ton.
"But a 2018 American College of Surgeons study found "no statistically significant association between the liberalization of state-level firearm carry legislation over the last 30 years and the rates of homicides or other violent crime."
Much better to catastrophize about "triggers pulling fingers" and society descending into a "Wild West" state of lawlessness and violence, than looking into data that does not support [and in fact contradicts] your preferred narrative.
No, just ad lib some stupid statement and the MSM will quote as an "expert opinion."
But it's an epidemic, and this is like saying you don't need a mask!
I think by "liberalization" she means less gun control. So she is pointing out that the loosening of gun control laws (specifically carry permits) is not connected in any way to violent crime.
Which would be a "no shit, Sherlock" observation except gun control advocates can't seem to differentiate between things that can increase gun violence (like having armed, unmedicated schizophrenics) and things that don't (like licensed gun owners carrying their guns around with them).
So she's actually making an anti-gun control argument.
I don't disagree with that; just more of a general observation as to how bias distorts just about anything, but more so anything to do with guns.
"Biden's new tax scheme for wealthy households would collect on assets even if they aren't sold."
Just wait for the new tax on stuff wealthy households are predicted to accrue in the future. Just like prosecuting pre-crime, they will tax pre-earnings and pre-spending.
Let's not forget to pre-tax medical interns.
And it's being widely marketed as a "billionaire" tax, even though 95% of the people it would fall on are not billionaires.
Well color my ass shocked.
If unrealized gains are to be taxed, does that mean people get a refund when their stock loses value?
Haaaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha! Yeah right.
Warren's had a hard-on for taxing "estimated worth" for years.
If she was really serious about hitting the uber-wealthy, she'd be outlining how the Tech Trust is deeply in bed with her own party and the security state, not sperging out about how much these billionaires are supposedly "worth."
She's just catering to the envy crowd. She doesn't need logic or reason. Just emotive speech and tone, which she is very good at.
She's only very good at conning very stupid, inept people.
I disagree. I know plenty of smart, competent people who feel the way she does. When you reduce those who disagree with you to stupid, inept people, then the chances of you convincing them that they are wrong is exactly zero. They will go on the defensive.
Warren appeals to emotion, and she does it well.
To defeat her you must appeal to reason without being a condescending asshole.
Like you do with the internet tough gais?
If they agree with Warren, they are definitionally not smart or competent. They are also assholes, inconsiderate, and just as disrespectful as the worst message board trolls - assuming they know better than you about just about everything.
I don't need to convince them here. And since you can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into, I won't bother in real life.
They are also assholes, inconsiderate, and just as disrespectful as the worst message board trolls - assuming they know better than you about just about everything.
I don't know if I've swayed anyone, but my response to that is "Who decides?"
People are people not angels, and, to paraphrase Madison, if society was run by angels we wouldn't need government, but because we're not government should be limited.
One thing I have trouble convincing envy-haters is that a person in government who has power is a self interested person. Upon working for the government people don't become angels.
Nah, that's not how definitions work. Being smart is no cure for being wrong. Smart people are good at deluding themselves when their beliefs are challenged.
I resent that!
Did I say resent? I meant resemble.
You don’t resemble smart at all.
^ but they are certainly stupid and inept ON THIS SUBJECT
AOC has a degree in economics..........
And she was smart enough to not ever try to put it to use.
I'm not sure what you're getting at but that certainly doesn't preclude her from being an idiot on the subject of economics.
She's not a total dummy if she got through college. Doe -eyed sure. But her eyes have changed. Notice that? Still big, but they have violence behind them.
uhhhh did you go to college? There are definitely morons walking around the campus.
There are definitely people in this world holding degrees who are very unintelligent. This isn't even up for debate.
She literally said nobody knows what capitalism and socialism are.... you give her far too much credit for some idiotic reason.
I guess it depends on what you study. Morons got weeded out of my major. Usually in the second year. Sixty people might sign up, and a tenth would graduate. If that. I suppose they must have changed majors.
I've become convinced that covetousness is the most pernicious emotion.
Corporate wokeness is the safe & effective inoculation against being targeted for confiscatory levels of taxation. Works better than the Moderna jab & is rumored to shrink your heart instead of enlarging it.
It would be the totally logical corollary to Biden’s proposal — so, like you said, ha ha ha ha.
If unrealized gains are to be taxed, does that mean people get a refund when their stock loses value?
just look at how gambling income is taxed. In a word, no.
Let's say you lose 10k a year at the slots. oh well.
One year you hit a couple jackpots and your net gambling income that year is 10k! They tax you on the 10k income.
In subsequent years you continue to lose 10K on the slots. oh well.
It gets even worse. If you dont track ALL your betting on the slots, and you win a 10k, they record the 10k jackpot with the IRS and you get taxed on that uptick, even though you lost overall for the year! Its true.
aye
"If unrealized gains are to be taxed, does that mean people get a refund when their stock loses value?"
I would think that taxing the unrealized gauns or losses would reset the cost basis of the asset. Otherwise there would be a lot of problems with taxing the same gain multiple times.
Only a problem for people, not the government. That actually sounds like their wet dream come true.
I don't think it would stand up to judicial scrutiny. And resetting the cost basis for assets is already really common. It's used in the tax code for estates all the time. The cost basis for any inherited assets is reset for the inheritor.
This is why someone who has owned a house or land for decades (their primary residence or any other property) should, if possible, die with it in their estate. If their inheritors sell right after they inherit, they will pay no taxes and neither will the estate. Even if the inheritors don't sell, the cost basis is the value when they inherited, not the cost basis when it was originally purchased by the decedent.
Same goes for any asset. The cost basis resets. For estates under the threshold for inheritance taxes it is a massive dodge of taxes and completely legal.
"Will Smith slapped Oscar host Chris Rock onstage after Rock made a joke about Smith's wife's hair."
Bad Boys for life.
Two racial hate crimes in one!
If have to see the joke to decide if being angry is justified, but Ican say slapping him was not justified.
Use your words is something we teach toddlers. An adult is expected to know better.
It wasn't. The joke was jada systting in GI Jane2 due to her hair loss. Wasn't even a good joke.
Jada starring*
And Jada (Smith's wife) is undergoing cancer treatment. Chris Rock made a joke about a cancer patient losing her hair and got bitch slapped for it. Try to find a jury that'll convict.
No, she has a medical condition that causes hair loss, and I'm hardly going to feel sorry for some wealthy bitch who cucked her husband with a coke-addled, mentally ill rapper, and then brought said husband on her youtube channel to explain how getting dicked by the coke-addled, mentally ill rapper was actually her husband's fault.
Over/under on how many ghetto superstars name their daughters "Alopecia" after finding out what Jada's hair-loss condition is called: 35.
And it's not like she even looks bad with her hair gone like that.
There headlines preceding the snap last night talking up how well she pulled off the bald look. She's not suffering by any reasonable measure, she's getting lots of support and compliments, and one extremely tame joke.
Jada's a stuck up bitch who thinks she's above jokes, and bullied her cuckold husband into white knighting for her supposed honor.
Will was laughing at the joke until he looked over at his wife.
Assault is assault. And idiotic on live television.
These are the antics they're resorting to for viewership?
Beats listening to Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes and what’s-her-name
If Wanda had made the joke, would Will have gotten up and slapped her?
If Chris Rock had made a joke about Meghan Markel, and Prince Harry had gotten up and slapped Chris, would it have been a hate crime? Or would the leftists twist themselves up trying to figure out who was more victimized? Chris, for having been hit by a white man? Meghan, for having a man (albeit black) mock her appearance? Clearly *not* Harry, but he's a wealthy liberal supporting their causes...
First time I've heard the Oscars discussed at the office the morning after in YEARS.
WWE does it better. Smith was at rehearsals when Rock told the same joke. He laughed.
The fact that no security reacted or that no celebrity "handlers" came out tells me it was a work. And not even a good one.
The uncensored Australian broadcast shoes it wasn't.
How so?
Yells at chris Rock after he sat back down "keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth" then showed multiple people trying to console Smith during each intermission.
He should have yelled at the rapper who cucked him to keep his dick out of his wife's mouth long before this.
Ummm, there’s this thing called “acting” where you pretend to be someone else and fake emotions and stuff.
The "uncensored" broadcast shows it wasn't even up to WWE standards. Work work work.
Was it as Ed Sullivan would say : "A really big shoe?" 😉
Did Jussie Smollett win anything for his performance?
An appeal.
"WUURRRRRRLLSTAAAAAAHHHHH!"
Seriously, that was the feyest slap I've ever seen, and if this really was something that got cooked up to get buzz, it shows the absolute state of the entertainment industry that they have to resort to shit like this. The Sacheen Littlefeather and streaker incidents had more dignity.
Our elites really are determined to do a speedrun of the 1970s right now.
I would give anything for it to be Mel Gibson who did the slap instead. Can you imagine the uproar? so fun
Russel Crowe would have been my pick.
Also good.
Charlton Heston ideally if he were still around
That was all so stupid. Will Smith could have just waited until it was his turn to speak, or got on Instagram if he didn't speak, and told Chris Rock: "That's OK. You ain't getting any of this!" and motioned to the visual beauty of his beloved Jada.
That would have been classy, funny, and very cromulent with The Knights, Ladies, and Trans Jesters Who Say: "NIFF!" (non-Initiation of Force and Fraud.)
It definitely would've embiggened his honor.
Under Biden's new proposal, unrealized gains would be taxed.
Taxing something that doesn’t exist. We now live in SleepyJoe’s fantasy land.
This is just their extension of impeaching for "crimes" that don't exist. I mean why would anyone expect Democrats who live in a fantasy land to restrict themselves to only the real?
President Joe Biden's disapproval rating is still above 50 percent...
Just like Putin.
The difference being that Putin will have someone murder you if you point it out.
Like the Clintons?
Yeah. Just like the Clintons. The way they poisoned people in foreign countries and jailed journalists for daring to say bad things about them was appalling. They must have had hundreds of people killed.
Putin = Clinton
No that was Obama that went after journalists.
And Biden.
Julian Assange would like a word.
Ummmm, what does that mean? If JA is alive then it's not true that Clinton = Putin. So he must be dead and the news of him being alive is anti-government propaganda.
Poor sarc.
Is he actually defending essentially permanent house arrest as not that bad?
I don't think Putin's killed all his "traitors" yet.
Anyway;
Jeffry Epstein - Epstein didn't kill himself
Jean Luc Brunel - Epstein associate, didn't kill himself.
James McDougal - Clinton’s convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr’s investigation.

Vince Foster - Former white House councilor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock’s Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.
Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman who had a serious disagreement with Clinton. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown’s skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors.
C. Victor Raiser II and Montgomery Raiser - Major players in the Clinton fund raising organization died in a private plane crash in July 1992.
Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock, September 1992…after a serious disagreement with Clinton. Described by Clinton as a “Dear friend and trusted advisor.”
Ed Willey - Clinton fund raiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day after his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.
Jerry Parks - Head of Clinton’s gubernatorial security team in Little Rock. Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Park’s son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.
James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a “Black Book” of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas. Although the book was seen by several persons, it disappeared.
James Wilson - Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He had ties to Whitewater.
Kathy Ferguson, ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a corroborating witness for Paula Jones.
Bill Shelton - Arkansas State Trooper and fiancé of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancé, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the grave site of his fiancée. There were no powder burns.

Paula Grober - Clinton’s speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death December 9, 1992. She died in a one car accident. She told a friend that Clinton made advances.
Danny Casolaro - Investigative reporter. Investigating Mena Airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He slit his wrists, apparently, in the middle of his investigation. Before his death, he claimed to have found a shattering story involving Clinton.
Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro and the 1980 “October Surprise” was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993 in his Washington DC apartment. Had delivered a shocking report to Janet Reno three weeks before his death.
Jon Parnell Walker - Whitewater investigator for Resolution Trust Corp. Jumped to his death from his Arlington, Virginia apartment balcony August 15, 1993. He was investigating the Morgan Guarantee scandal.
Barbara Wise - Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised, nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.
Charles Meissner - Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash. The plane had been tampered with.
Dr. Stanley Heard - Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee, died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Again, tampering with the plane. Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton’s advisory council personally treated Clinton’s mother, stepfather and brother.
Johnny Lawhorn Jr. - Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole. Apparently he was dead before the car hit the pole.
Stanley Huggins - Investigated Madison Guarantee. His death was a purported suicide and his report was never released.
Hershell Friday - Attorney and Clinton fund raiser died March 1, 1994 when his plane exploded. This happen two days after an argument with Clinton.
Kevin Ives and Don Henry - Known as “The boys on the track” case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation. A controversial case, the initial report of death said, due to falling asleep on railroad tracks. Later reports claim the two boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.
THE FOLLOWING PERSONS HAD INFORMATION ON THE IVES/HENRY CASE:
Keith Coney - Died when his motorcycle apparently slammed into the back of a truck, July 1988. No one saw the accident and the bike was not damaged.

Sgt. Tim Sabel
Major General William Robertson
Col. William Densberger
Col. Robert Kelly
Spec. Gary Rhodes
Steve Willis
Robert Williams
Conway LeBleu
47 - Todd McKeehan
You left out John Ashe, but Politifact ruled the claim that his accidental weightlifting death was connected to the Clintons as "False":
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2017/jun/30/blog-posting/blogger-falsely-ties-death-un-official-clintons/
John Ashe represented Antigua and Barbuda at the United Nations and at one time served as president of the General Assembly. In October 2015, the FBI accused Ashe of receiving at least $500,000 in bribes to benefit a Chinese businessman named Ng Lap Seng. Ng isn’t a household name today but back in 1998, a Senate report identified him as the source of hundreds of thousands of dollars funneled through an Arkansas restaurant owner to the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton-Gore campaign in the mid 1990s. Ng visited the White House 10 times. That is the known extent of any Clinton connection.
Barry Seal – Drug running pilot out of Mena, Arkansas, death was related to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case.
Seth Rich: A DNC committee member who was murdered after receiving two gunshot wounds to the back. Rich’s death was claimed to be a result of an attempted robbery, but that doesn’t seem possible being his wallet was never touched.
Klaus Eberwein: Was a former Haitian government official that was found dead in his room from a gunshot wound in the head. Eberwein was supposed to appear before the Haiti Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission where many speculated he was going to call out the Clinton Foundation for misusing donations for earthquake victims.
Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, and CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods: These four men died under the eye of Hillary Clinton. Both Smith and Woods filed a lawsuit against Hillary Clinton for wrongful death and defamation. The lawsuit even stated that Hillary’s use of a private email server contributed to their sons’ death.
Man , those Clintons sure have themselves some bad luck.
Don't forget
Waco
Baghdad bombing on impeachment day
Kosovo
Actions all ending in civilian deaths.
But not equal to murdering detractors. The comparison is not apt.
@sarcasmic
I love how you just ignored the 53 names above like you didn't even read them.
@Anubias nana petite
I could spend my entire day defending myself from liars, or live my day and post now and then... I choose the latter.
Sarc revels in his ignorance.
@sarcasmic
Well then you probably shouldn't start claiming nobody answered you when they did. If anyone looks like a liar, it's you.
Yet again no reply. Too much sarcasm I guess.
ideas!
Ignore the information given to him and yells or implies trolling.
No reply. Must have been an unimportant question if no non-trolls replied.
Vince foster says hi, sarco.
Biden is way better. He will use secret DoJ warrants to get yours and your employees emails, do dawn raids ok your private residences, etc.
Don't forget about freezing assets.
You mean like getting shot in the head at a protest?
New national NBC News poll
Biden overall job rating among adults:
Approve: 40% (-3 from Jan. 2022)
Disapprove: 55% (+1)
March 18-22, +/- 3.1%
I like how their +/- is accurate to a 1/10th of a percent. Top tier lying with statistics, nice work
You just have to find the right sample to poll from. Then it's not technically lying. I would like to see the results of a true, broad sample of the electorate. I'm guessing the results would be unprintable because that may be deemed a danger to our democracy.
Huh... fancy TWO irresponsible looters being despised by the suckers their soft machines coerce and exploit. The funny part is that the coerced and exploited suckers in both Kleptocracies wasted the opportunity to instead vote for libertarian party candidates. That's an opportunity pathetic wretches laboring under most looter kleptocracies WISH they could exercise.
Just say no kids.
Can you clarify your comment? By both kleptocracies, do you mean the Republicans and Democrats, or Biden and Putin?
Lol.
Just like POOTUS.
I noticed that long tirades about how Republicans are awesome and everyone else is subhuman are missing.
What happened to Ken? Did he take his ball and go home?
Ideas!
So many ideas. Soon he will threaten to send you to the hospital though. So be wary.
Wait, did sarc go internet tough guy this weekend?
Down below. Was yesterday's thread.
I wuz scared.
My hands are still shaking.
Who knew we had such a tough guy in our midst. He sure showed us.
I think sarc is will smith.
This must be Tulpa, because the real sarcasmic is only about ideas and never attacks others first.
Sarcasmic has been hacked again. That darn Tulpa.
No reply. Oh well.
Seriously though, did I miss his "Goodbye I hate you all" speech? If so can someone (who isn't a troll on mute) link it?
Shrike, jeff, and white Mike aren't in the thread yet. You will have to wait.
You mean like when you went to glibs?
That was hilarious.
A month long sendoff, a post on every page about how he's leaving us to talk to "real libertarians", promptly gets banned by the glibs and comes whistling back like nothing ever happened.
Again no reply. Not that it matters.
Post your mute list and rank pls.
I may no longer be in the top spot after his tough gai attack yesterday.
The list is probably up to about 75% of the commentariat.
So as many people as muted him at glibs?
If he did one, I never saw it, but I don't click on all the articles, either.
I wonder if he has enough self-awareness to realize embarrassing his spergout was, and just decided to fuck off for a while.
Maybe he did a John. Which would be a bummer. I rarely agreed with either of them but they did start good conversations.
Imagine making this comment right after this one:
https://reason.com/2022/03/28/three-more-states-will-let-you-carry-a-concealed-weapon-without-a-permit/?comments=true#comment-9421103
He said something a couple weeks ago about he would be traveling.
I wasn't paying attention. Dang. In part I miss his tirades but on the other hand he isn't stirring up hatred.
Biden's new tax scheme for wealthy households would collect on assets even if they aren't sold.
A Democrat with a hardon to tax? Now I've seen everything.
And there are absolutely no perverse incentives in such a scheme.
Except, you know, the end of long-term buy-and-hold investing. That is, real investing as opposed to gambling in the market, which is what most people do.
Dee’s good at picking up sarcasm because she’s so smrt.
It's a mid-term ploy. Nothing like that will ever pass. Congress critters know where their bread is buttered.

Both sides, eh?
Yes. Both sides are committing apparent war crimes. Only one side is actively being called out. That's propaganda.
I'm glad it's being reported, but the Uighur and Yemenis are undergoing the same thing but far worse right now and nobody cares.
Skin color matters.
Very true. With the added 'fuck you' of being used as slave labor to make iPhones, thereby enriching the Chinese government even more. It's an abomination that they aren't called out for that more than they are.
The IOC is so corrupt they don't even put a minimal amount of effort into pretending they care.
"A Denver man is facing felony charges for making an illegal pickleball court."
If he only had worn his BLM T-shirt while marking the gym floor.
LOL, no shit. The white Boomers who live in Denver LOVE showing off how tolerant they supposedly are, because all this shit reminds them of the late 60s-early 70s when their generation was still culturally relevant.
Any house that has one of those "In this house we believe..." signs out in front with the liberal rosary listed on it, is guaranteed to be the home of white Boomers.
Ackshuyally, the first time I ever seen such a sign, it was a plaque showing the scripture: Joshua 24:15: "...As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." And the people were older than Boomers.
The larger context of the verse is that Joshua was recounting to the Israelites all the previous gods their ancestors worshipped prior to the flood and in Egypt and all the gods of their enemies and how JHVH-1 opened up a can of smoting whoop-ass on all of them.
So basically, this scripture is part of a proclamation tbat: "Might makes right as long as our son-of-a-bitch God does it."
It is no less virtue signalling than the Lefty Creed. Really, you can't call it virtuous to signal.
As for and my pod, Yahweh isn't my way and Amway and People For The American Way isn't either. I just live by the way of The Knights, Ladies, and Trans Jesters Who Say: "NIFF!" (non-Initiation of Force and Fraud,) I live-and-let-live with all who do the same, treat people as individuals, and just do the damn thing and do my good deed in secret so it goes unpunished. 🙂
Oh, and...

Pickle ballers — America’s most evil people.
fuck yes. if you're going to play paddleball stick to the beach.
I have no idea what Pickle Balling is—-but it sounds FILTHY!!!!
"Under Biden's new proposal, unrealized gains would be taxed."
This is what led to Proposition 13 in California.
and it is what will lead to a massive republican takeover in the next few years if they really pass this madness.
Study shows censoring people for wrong think can lead them to more extreme views, working against the claims of the companies censoring others.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/social-media-censorship-and-cancel-culture-increase-extremism-study
That just makes seditious traitors easier to identify and confine.
This has been well known for centuries (except the bit about social media) but great, I'm glad we're once again acknowledging that censoring "wrong" views just gives them currency.
This is what we keep telling the idiots on the left, but their worldview can't stand up to the slightest amount of criticism, so outright banning speech is all they have.
I'm trying to remember who is banning books in schools. You know, the ones who think books like Maus are dangerous examples of CRT? The ones who are in a moral panic over things that aren't actually being taught in schools?
Oh, right. It's the cultural conservatives. What a surprise.
Thanks, I’m printing that out and filing it under W—for “Who’da Thunk?”
So has Smith been arrested for assault?
Or is this going to be another example of racist "prosecutorial discretion"?
Based on the college examples dealing with 'potential for violence' when a conservative speaker is invited, we should cancel the Oscars in the future.
Beautiful.
Would anyone actually notice if the Oscars were canceled?
What assault? Black-on-black violence never happens/happened.
Just thank God it wasn't a cultural knife fight.
The Oscar's are a well known hotbed of right-wing disinformation.
I posted this elsewhere, but it’s my audition tape for next year’s show so here it is again:
NOW LOOK! There isn’t a juri in the world that would convict Will Smith or, for that matter, Chris Rock! And why should they? Neither of them has a Pryor! … Tap tap, is this thing on????
"President Joe Biden's disapproval rating is still above 50 percent"
I doubt it. That poll must have been conducted by wingnut.com.
Reason's leading economics expert says we're currently in the best economy ever. And it's a well established pattern that a strong economy helps a President's approval rating.
#DefendBidenAtAllCosts
They must have only interviewed spittin tobaccy users.
If you click on wingnut.com there's a handy page that indexes smokeless tobacco price fluctuations to drilling rig count.
It's where Buttplug sources all his "facts".
So that's where they get their talking points.
Speaking of, where's fuck Joe Friday?
He doesn’t do Mondays
If they only used The Science to select the current people to poll.
The results are after weighting the actual responses to account for polling errors. Which makes you wonder how bad the raw data are.
White house continues to try to fix Bidens Russian regime change remarks.
https://justthenews.com/government/white-house/bidens-comment-putin-cannot-remain-power-outlasts-white-house-spin-control
It makes me feel just a tiny bit of sympathy for Biden staff.
They signed up to work for a senile, demented, corrupt, stupid old bastard. No sympathy from this guy. If they were too stupid to know what they were signing up for, that's on them.
"They signed up to work for a senile, demented, corrupt, stupid old bastard. No sympathy from this guy. If they were too stupid to know what they were signing up for, that's on them"
All those people are out of gocernment now, since Trump lost.
President Biden does not speak for the Biden Administration.
The administration is used to US media accepting and repeating blatant lies, but the rest of the world can see Biden wears no clothes.
It's enough to make one pine for the days when Trump was Literally starting WWIII.
I was literally pissed off when I got killed in Trump’s World War! He’s lucky I got better or I’d have kicked his ass!
Thankfully, the adults in the room are there to address Biden's fast and loose usage of English.
"As you know, and as you have heard us say repeatedly, we do not have a strategy of regime change in Russia — or anywhere else, for that matter," Blinken told reporters
One supposes it depends on what the meaning of "we" is.
I'm pretty sure the regime changed in Afghanistan.
Yup. And then, 12 years after we should have left, it changed back. It's almost like regime change wars never work.
But neocons are gonna con. And America keeps falling for their con.
Please define the word "is" in you comment so that we may judge its merits.
Also was Blinken Winken when he said it?
And Republicans know who his VP is, so they're not likely to impeach. There's no life insurance policy quite like Kamala Harris.
He just has to last long enough for them to invoke the 25th.
I don't think anyone honestly believes that Kamala Harris as the figurehead would be substantially worse than Joe Biden as the figurehead.
I believe it. Bitch is fucking crazy and will not be handled. "I'm the fucking president, you don't tell me what to do!" The sheer entitlement would send actual aftershocks through the crust of the earth.
She's also not smart enough to know what she doesn't know.
"The White House reassures people the Biden isn't really calling for regime change in Russia"
Really? Because some of my favorite conservative writers (Bill Kristol, Joe Walsh) said Biden was doing exactly that — and we should applaud him.
#LibertariansForWarWithRussia
does anyone really think that violent hothead in question would be less likely to go off if he'd paid a fee to the state earlier that year? Or if he had only taken eight hours of gun safety classes?
Thinking has little to do with it. "Does anyone FEEL", OTOH....
Or if he got elected president?
I doubt a 71-year-old pickleball player is really a "violent hothead".
So how about we require a permit for all of the bill of rights?
No permit, no free speech.
No permit, no freedom from searches.
No permit, no right to remain silent.
No permit, no right to a jury.
etc.
How would the left respond to that kind of equal treatment under the law?
One surmises they might buy into that idea. Just think of the JOBS for processing all those permits!
With the Right People in charge.
Also, those had better be union jobs.
How would the left respond to that kind of equal treatment under the law?
With adulation.
Yup.
1 ask consritives that try to speak on campus
2 ask project veritas about the fbi
3 ask j6 protesters about coerced apologies
4 ask any number of people about poisoning the jury pool
These are already being violated, but only in one direction
"How would the left respond to that kind of equal treatment under the law?"
Trick question.
How would the left respond to that kind of equal treatment under the law?
Easy enough to find out. Just whip that up into an article and submit it to The Jacobin. Also, keep calling that in to NPR programs.
Then kick back and enjoy your Dr Frankenstein moment? (Regrets? I’ve had a few…)
In case anyone missed it yesterday. Sarc initiates trolling by trying to get shrike to stop discussions between ML and myself that had gone back and forth with dozens of links, sarc calling it trolling despite him claiming the mute list. It ends woth sarc calling someone else an internet tough guy as he goes internet tough guy.

If you said that to me in public, and I put your internet-tuff-gai-ass in the hospital, the cops would laugh at you when you tried to press charges.
Nobody threatened to fight sarc. All him. More deranged than will Smith.
Poor sarc. He's not all there and it's all he's got.
It is hilarious though that he's calling other people "internet-tuff-gai's" right in the middle of being an internet tough guy.
Self-awareness isn't his superpower.
I laughed pretty hard.
Gosh, I'm a little frightened Jesse. I didn't realize we were dealing with the Maine mafia when I mocked his sheer stupidity.
The "cops would laugh" too, apparently. He must have connections. Maybe they're on his payroll, because every fry-cook I know is a pretty big baller.
Makes you question his cop hate doesn't it? Likes them just fine when shooting j6 protestors or letting him commit limp wrested assaults.
Does he also have over 300 confirmed kills?
He has never been to Portland.
Been to Derry though. Pennywise is still in traction!
Who would win in a fight between sarc and dol?
Depends if DOL can use his Apache helicopter.
Lmao.
I come here for the comments.
That doesn't mean I come here to read about comment-section bitch-fights, or reminders of the stupid thing someone said four days ago. This isn't a competition, so I don't care who thinks they're "winning."
I can walk and chew gum at the same time.
I can walk while someone follows me around making fart noises, but I'd rather not.
Lol.
*fights urge to make fart comment after every sarc comment*
Beware the gas tax!
Is this the same guy who got a persecution complex from the Fishing Trip thread a while back?
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday that he was ready to discuss adopting a neutral status as part of a potential peace agreement with Moscow...
Half nazi, half woke.
And you can't tell which half is which.
In Putin’s logic, neo-Nazis are champions of woke-ism.
It’s a good fit.
Nazis? Woke-ists? I’m trying to remember which of those is notorious for racial fixations….
OK, then what's the other half?
Woke = postmodern nazi
Biden's new tax scheme for wealthy households would collect on assets even if they aren't sold. "If enacted, the measure would likely face legal challenges to its constitutionality under the 16th Amendment"
How can that be? Constitutional scholars run the country, they "love the Constitution", and they took an oath to defend the Constitution!
They also love a challenge.
Our Supreme Court has already decided taxing authority outweighs the constitution.
KBJ is clearly a Constitutional textualist like Gorsuch, and will stop such unconstitutional money grabs, clearly.
"The White House reassures people the Biden isn't really calling for regime change in Russia"
Truth in reporting:
"The White House blatantly lies to reassures people the Biden isn't really calling for regime change in Russia"
So how big is the constitutional crisis when the duly elected (so I'm told) President of the United States is not really running the country? Does the American public have a 'right to know' who is actually making national and international decisions?
Biden is literally everything that they claimed Trump would be.
But no mean tweets.
Seriously. How many progressives will accept all the idiotic speaking, policy fumbles, and family graft from Biden that Trump would have committed simply because Trump used too many trigger words?
Plenty if mean tweets from his staff. They just delete them prior to nominations.
Also freely uses the DoJ against media he doesn't like. But tweets of fake news are the real threat to journalists.
Plenty if mean tweets from his staff. They just delete them prior to nominations.
They were being mean to those nasty peasants, so that doesn't count.
I seem to recall them getting pretty bothered by the idea that women could be grabbed by the pussy, when Trump said it.
Less so when Biden actually did it.
Well that’s because Trump was talking about consenting adults and Biden does it to little girls…wait a minute.
You really have to ignore a lot of contradictions to remain a democrat.
This is what I've said to several people in my life who keep sputtering "But Trump!" in response to news about every new Biden blunder.
Also, how fucked are we when the totally duly elected President just starts shouting to the world at a NATO conference that we're going to depose leaders of nuclear powers?
Whether Biden's handlers intend to remove Putin is, in one sense, irrelevant. Biden is an old senile man ranting at clouds. He should be in a home, not addressing NATO.
This was a day after he said the US would retaliate in kind if Russia used chemical weapons implying the US would use them too.
Ignoring the fact that 'we don't have chemical weapons'.
US Policy is that all weapons of mass destruction are equal, and we respond to chemical or biological weapons (which we don't have) with nukes (which we do have).
We don't "have" them, they're just in the U.S.-funded biolabs that totally don't exist in Ukraine. Hunter had nothing to do with them, either.
But when the labs that don't exist get captured, the Russians will use the stuff that's not there to launch chemical attacks!
We may not have chemical and biological weapons in stock, but if we wanted them, it would take us about 10 minutes to make them. The required infrastructure and knowledge are already in place.
Last I heard though we do not produce them we are still in the process of destroying them a process that could take decades. So technically we do still have chemical weapons.
Our “president” is now the crazy uncle nobody wants to invite for thanksgiving dinner.
It was a return to acceptable norms.
Just keep him away from the kids.
Well, today Biden had a meeting with his Cabinet….He also joked around with his Desk and got into an argument with his Bookshelf.
What makes it especially blatant is that it's not Biden himself who comes out and clarifies. He's not tweeting out that he didn't actually mean that, he's not recording a quick clarification or answering questions.
I wonder how many Americans are realizing that Biden needs other people to speak for him when something like this happens. Even if you're in a bubble, and you hear about this, shouldn't you wonder why the President himself is incapable of clarifying his own comments?
My grandfather didn't have dementia, but when he got to be 95 years old, he was only good for about 5-10 minutes of lucid conversation before he got tired and started rambling, repeating himself, and losing his train of thought. Occasionally, he would say weird stuff. Even during his sharp periods, he still had articulation problems- slurring, stuttering, losing words... After holiday gatherings, he would need several days to recover because he was so exhausted.
Watching Biden is like watching my grandfather in the last year of his life. I've suspected their medicating him to keep him lucid as long as possible, but he's slipping much faster lately and he can't stay on message.
After that train-wreck interview with Stephanopolous, who's about as sympathetic an interviewer for him as could be imagined, I doubt they have him do any sort of one-on-one interview again that isn't HEAVILY curated and kept to less than half an hour.
More like "Biden regime reminds citizens that Biden doesn't necessarily speak for the Biden regime".

Also shows finding for Ukraine bio labs.
“Emails from Hunter’s abandoned laptop show he helped secure millions of dollars of funding for Metabiota, a Department of Defense contractor specializing in research on pandemic-causing diseases that could be used as bioweapons,” The Daily Mail announced last week. The article continued: “[Biden] also introduced Metabiota to an allegedly corrupt Ukrainian gas firm, Burisma, for a ‘science project’ involving high biosecurity level labs in Ukraine. And although Metabiota is ostensibly a medical data company, its vice president emailed Hunter in 2014 describing how they could ‘assert Ukraine’s cultural and economic independence from Russia’– an unusual goal for a biotech firm.”

I wrote about this yesterday:

Will my tax bill get reduced for unrealized losses, too?
No but your IRA will get reduced.

What it's like to witness a nuclear explosion.
It looks like the underside of a schoolhouse desk.
If you're looking at it, the last thing you see might be something like this.
That's so fake. You can see the strings.
"What it's like to witness a nuclear explosion."
To me it looks an awful like the wrong side of a paywall, set up by people I will never willingly give any money to.
"Broken windows policing" is back.
Take these broken windows and learn to fly again... learn to feel not so free...
Jesus, it's the zombie policing theory. Why can't this terrible idea stay dead?
You know which other terrible idea won’t stay dead?
Banning abortion? I agree.

I just can't figure out the globalist elites plan here anymore. End all international travel under one world government? Unless connected to The Party?
This isbalso fresh off Gates demanding a global transition to synthetic beef.
…If the Blue Check COULD pop wood…
"That's the whole thing about being a criminal: not following the law."
But that's the thing about Progressives. They believe that everyone is a potential criminal, just waiting for an excuse to shoot them for no reason. This belief probably includes other Progressives, so they need to keep weapons out of everyone's hands. Oops. Hands are weapons too.
When you spend your life pissing people off, you worry about that sort of thing.
Most of the progressive worldview is based on projection. If they think mere ownership of a firearm will cause people to go on shooting sprees, it tells me that the average progressive is a mass-murdering sociopath who is only limited by his lack of access to a weapon.
You don't quite get them. To true-believing progressives, anyone who dissents or even disagrees is an actual criminal. That some heretics might be armed is just more reason to impose state rule.
"Oops. Hands are weapons too."
Don't forget that words are literally violence. And silence is violence too.
Show me the man, mother fucker, show me the man.
[And after executing the man, he--Beria--then raped their daughters]
Hunh. You'd think he'd have done it in front of the men before execution, if he was really trying to rack up his evil score.
Ok you got me to thinking on that:
From The Atlantic, none other than Ta'Na'Hee'See Coats:
"The records contained the official testimony from Colonel R.S. Sarkisov and Colonel V. Nadaraia, two of Beria's most senior NKVD bodyguards. They stated that on warm nights during the war years, Beria was often driven slowly through the streets of Moscow in his armored Packard limousine. He would point out young women to be detained and escorted to his mansion where wine and a feast awaited them. After dining, Beria would take the women into his soundproofed office and rape them.
Beria's bodyguards reported that their orders included handing each victim a flower bouquet as she left Beria's house. The implication being that to accept made it consensual; refusal would mean arrest. In one incident his chief bodyguard, Sarkisov, reported that a woman who had been brought to Beria rejected his advances and ran out of his office; Sarkisov mistakenly handed her the flowers anyway prompting the enraged Beria to declare "Now it's not a bouquet, it's a wreath! May it rot on your grave!"
The woman was arrested by the NKVD the next day."
A Denver man is facing felony charges for making an illegal pickleball court.
Unless I missed it, I notice how the linked article doesn't go after the prosecutor in this debacle at all. Denver has issues.
Hey, do you have any idea how violent these pickle-ball seniors can get?
But it’s all kinda in slow motion, like pickle ball itself.
Pickleball: the bastard offspring of badminton and squash.
I would agree with it if it was a ban on spike ball. Get that shit off television.
I saw that yesterday for the first time. Looks like a fun game to play when you're drunk on the beach. Not a sport to watch on ESPN.
Denver Parks and Rec needs to be a lot more worried about all the homeless people using the parks as public toilets, not some Boomer pickleball goof.
Remember, Reason, you all wanted Trump out. You said he was unstable, embarrassing, incompetent. That Biden represented 'the adults being in charge again' and even is he's wrong 'it will be within normal parameters'.
So own it. Stop bitching about how badly Biden is doing. Support your guy.
Joe Biden was never anything but a stalking horse for the rabid progressive left. He's not running the show; none of these ideas are his. The democrats sold out to the rabid left because beating Trump at any cost was all the mattered. And now they have to pay the bill.
Anyone who didn't know that when they pulled the lever for Biden is a fucking idiot. Anyone who thought Biden was anything other than a disposable figure head is just retarded.
That's news to AOC, Sanders, and their band if lunatics. They keep getting shut down by the moderates.
If this is what it looks like when the "rabid left" wins, we have very different definitions of 'win'.
The walls are closing in! It's the tipping point! The beginning of the end!:
"Former prosecutor says Trump "guilty of numerous felony violations"
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mark-pomerantz-prosecutor-donald-trump-guilty-of-numerous-felony-violations/
But he just can't seem to find any. Gotta be a late library book return or SOMETHING, dammit!
They got him this time. Did you hear how he was a paid spokesman?!? Such a criminal.
Isn't it a form of prosecutorial misconduct to not charge someone with a crime knowing full well that the person is guilty of that crime?
Dunno, but if TDS were a crime, we'd all be far better off.
No shit. Murdering people who are critical of the head of state always ends well. I wish I was so wise.
Ideas!
Well, it looks like two TDS-addled piles of shit responded!
Fuck off and die, assholes.
Just one. sarcasmic is drinking early today.
Fuck off and die, assholes.
Do be a dear and set an example.
It's called digression. As in they only have to prosecute what they feel like prosecuting. And they have absolute immunity.
Do you mean discretion?
Hahaha, oh wow.
sarcasmic is my absolutely favoritist lol cow.
but you probably digress.
No, no, I discretess, Jesse.
Sarc say's digression is acting on one's own authority and judgment, whereas discretion is a temporary shift of subject. And we've never known sarcasmic to be wrong.
So it's perfectly legal for a prosecutor to just drop an investigation into the mafia boss even if he has all the evidence he needs to get a conviction? What if the mafia boss pays him?
I might be wrong, and if so I'd appreciate a non-troll pointing it out in a civilized way, but I believe it the former to be so. The latter is a separate issue.
The latter would be bribery or obstruction of justice or some other corruption offense. The former would be okay; there are numerous reasons not to prosecute and the executive office has non-reviewable discretion over when to do so or not do so. Among the common reasons are allocation of resources; likelihood of success at trial (e.g., sufficiency of evidence, willingness of witnesses to testify); the criminal in question might be a valuable asset/snitch (e.g., if the prosecutor has incontrovertible evidence that some mid-level mob guys were involved in a murder but are leveraging them to go after bigger fish).
The end result, in my experience, is that when you ask the cops for help, expect a fuck off.
Unless you put someone in the hospital?
What of this case, where the prosecutor is he knows for a fact Trump is guilty, so he surely has the evidence, and Trump isn't working as an informant because the prosecutor is very vocally discussing the case to a media publication?
Prosecutors are just as self interested as anyone else. Businessmen work to keep and increase their wealth, and those with power want to keep and increase their power. So of course they're going to toss the hot potato.
Given the existence of Absolute Prosecutorial Immunity, it might actually be. :-/
Nope. There can be good reasons to let a crime slide. It's why police, prosecutors, and juries can just ignore the law and even judges can force a not-guilty verdict.
Superstitious conservatives equivocate vices into crimes even absent mens rea. Lysander Spooner refuted all such nonsense back when Reconstruction and Comstockery were the main public nuisances dangerous to individual rights.
Trump also had like a what, five, ten year, IRS deep dive and came up clean, which is shocking. He must be the most squeaky clean politician ever.
He's had the deep state throw everything that they have at him and nothing stuck.
If someone would have told me that back in the days of Trump U, Trump steaks and his TV show, I would've laughed.
If this schmuck is to be believed, he has the evidence of all those horrible felonies that Trump committed. I'm interested to know why he just dropped it all.
Either that, or he's the most diabolically brilliant criminal mastermind who ever lived, if they're throwing every thing they have at him and he just keeps coming up squeaky clean every time.
I like how they can't manage the narrative on this. On one hand, they say he's a bumbling oaf. On the other hand, he's a diabolical criminal who evades prosecution at every turn. The OTHER other hand is that law enforcement is incompetent and can't manage to put together a case.
My guess is, he's done some stuff that could be prosecutable. But after 40 years of being Donald Trump, he's holding dirt on probably everyone, and if he goes down, so do they.
So are we to take biden...
Seriously
Literally
Dementia?
To the nursing home.
Preferably one full of Covid patients.
Out to pasture?
I've been listening to 'The Conservative Sensibility' by George Will on Audible.
Pretty good.
I can definitely see why conservatives hate him so much. So far everything he's said was libertarian, not conservative.
I mean actively campaigning against all GOo candidates is the mark of a true conservative.
https://www.mediaite.com/online/george-will-calls-for-americans-to-vote-against-the-gop-this-november-in-scathing-column/
Next up sarc analyzes the Jennifer Rubin podcast.
Gop*
You meant to say "gook." Just admit it.
implicit bias strikes again =(
Without reading anything JesseAz said, I will come to his defense. He insults someone's beliefs, lifestyle, and knowledge, but he's never ragged on someone's race that I can tell.
He's still a dick.
Ideas!
I don’t think Jesse needs you to come to his defense. Something about not being a whiney bitch that cries when someone makes a joke about him on an anonymous internet site.
Ohhhhhh now I remember. Will coined the term "crybaby-in-chief" to describe Trump. Instead of worshiping the cult of personality, he stuck to his principles. No wonder he's so hated by conservatives.
Or what I posted dummy. Lol.
Hi Tulpa. You must be Tulpa because sarc swears he doesn't troll and try to start shit.
I've gotten into a habit of listening to books instead of music in the car. Waste of a premium stereo system, but oh well. Finished Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules. That was enlightening. Didn't agree with all of it but it was still very good.
This book by George Will though, he calls it 'The Conservative Sensibility' but it goes against everything post-Trump conservatives stand for.
Yeah, it's no surprise he's vehemently hated by the people who call themselves conservatives. So sad.
This isn’t Facebook.
I found 12 Rules very thought provoking, but the sequel that he wrote while/after being very sick wasn’t as good. It had a few good insights, but was more of a slog to read.
I’m disappointed in post-illness Peterson in general. On Twitter, he’s been transforming dim thought leader to cranky old man.
Thanks for the advice. I wasn't thinking of his subsequent works, but now I won't seek them out.
I dunno. I'd hate for you to decide not to listen to "Beyond Order" just because I wasn't as thrilled with it as the "12 Rules" book. I'd like to hear your opinion of "Beyond Order".
I mean a mediocre Jordan Peterson book is still much more thought provoking than a book written by just about anyone else.
I don't have a list so I can't say what is on it. Listening to the GW book. No plans for after. I live today. Not good at planning ahead.
If you want to talk outside the forum here's a throwaway email.
sarcasmic966@gmail.com
If you do respond I'm sure I'll have a lot of shit to sift through. But I'll figure it out.
I anticipate at least a dozen troll messages. At least. I'll be surprised if it's less than fifteen.
Sarc really, really wants everyone to email him. Poor sarc.
Pre-victimhood signaling noted.
My favorite parts were "Treat yourself like someone you are taking care of" and "Don't let your kids do anything that makes you dislike them."
There might be a few more reasons to be cranky compared to two years ago.
Speaking of Twitter, Edward Snowden has been conspicuously silent for over a month now.
I don't do Twatter. Nardz scared me off.
How do you know what opinion to hold about whatever the day's controversy is, without checking with thought leaders? Like, don't tell me you don't care about Will Smith vs. Chris Rock -- you have to care!!!
Or he's just bored.
Ideas!
Always late to the party:
"Tonight is Earth Hour. Here's how you can participate"
[...]
"(CNN)Tonight, for the 15th consecutive year, people around the world will turn off their lights for one hour. It's part of a grassroots global campaign called Earth Hour.
What is Earth Hour?
Earth Hour is an annual tradition started by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, to raise awareness about climate change. Participants in more than 190 countries will turn off their lights for one hour on Saturday..."
https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/26/world/earth-hour-2022-climate-trnd/index.html
That's OK, both of you go ahead without waiting for me.
I'll turn off my lights if I can go back to using my whale oil lantern.
people around the world will turn off their lights for one hour. It's part of a grassroots global campaign called Earth Hour.
Californians are way ahead of you.
It's daily, mandatory and often lasts longer than an hour. Californians are saints.
4 to 9 PM, to "Keep California Golden (TM)"
.. turn off their lights for one hour…
Even if I’m using solar power?
Especially. Remember, like with masks, it's not about effectiveness, it's about sending a message!
Everything burns.
Unplug your Tesla too.
If they really cared, especially about CO2, they would hold their breath for an hour.
Thanks for reminding me to turn on all my lights tonight. And I'll probably run the ac while the oven is on full blast with the doors open.
Just finished up installing smart lights so may as well put the color show to work.
World Wildlife Fund? Can we turn off the windmills for an hour then?
Should go a long way in preventing crime.
So the neoliberal hawks are clamoring for a no fly zone, and Biden calling for regime change.
So glad the adults are back in charge and not starting WW3
Don't worry. Remember when that Iranian terrorist got droned and Reason said it was WW3? That wasn't so bad now, was it?
It’s impossible for SleepyJoe to start WW3.
It would be WW4.
Are wes all gonna get kilt again?
Only True Scotsmen get kilt—and that’s no fallacy!
Hey, we're teetering on the edge of WWIII and the top story in my newspaper?
Moira Macdonald on the Oscars’ very weird night
Followup, who the hell is Moira Macdonald?
Some Irish chick? Was that Captain Obvious guess helpful?
Clearly it isn't me. I didn't know the Oscars were happening until I woke up and found out one guy who I know from acting on TV slapped another guy I know from telling jokes on TV because the joke guy said something about the actor guy's wife, who I also know from TV.
Since I don't actually know or care about any of them, it left me feeling sad for the fact that I now know something that happened at the Oscars. And even worse that I can't un-know it.
The biggie is 0.5% interest with 7% inflation.
The US government is trying to inflate its debt away while simultaneously (implicitly) raising capital gains taxes.
Americans voted for this crap, and they deserve to get it, good and hard.
Yet the 3K max capital loss you can claim per year never gets indexed for inflation....
For what it's worth, the 8.9 megaton hydrogen bomb witnessed by the scientist in the "nuclear weapon" link was probably a hundred times more powerful than any likely to be used in, you know, combat.
You spelled your name wrong.
Ideas!
So only 6 times bigger than the bomb that leveled Hiroshima, glad you think it's no big deal.
"Two-mother couples risk more birth complications, Stanford study shows"
[...]
"A surprising, first-of-its kind study from Stanford University reveals that women have a greater risk of complications during and after childbirth..."
https://www.sfchronicle.com/health/article/Two-mother-couples-risk-more-birth-complications-17029959.php?cmpid=gsa-sfgate-result
Since they can't find anything else, the authors blame stress, since the world just doesn't constantly tell both women they are wonderful!
And, of course, the world must change.
Too lazy to follow the link. Are the lesbo moms trying to share the vaginal deliver, like with a double-headed dildo? I can see how that might increase complications.
fucking LOL
That movie was wack.
It probably has nothing to do with the fact that lesbian couples use IVF a lot. IVF has a much higher likelihood of multiple fetuses, and giving birth to multiples is more prone to complications and often requires c-section or induced labor. IVF is also expensive, so they're probably fairly well off, and well-off lesbos are usually totally neurotic and miserable people.
But it's definitely because of society being mean to them.
Heterosexual cis-gendered male scientists are no doubt hiding the secret of parthenogenesis from lesbian couples, even flaunting it by relentlessly talking about the Virgin Mary!
Of course they did. God is a man, and men have to make everything about them.
Days since enbs last yglasias reffrence : 18
Is that a record?
19 was.
Jinx!
She cheats and sneaks his name into the Roundup as anagrams. That's why she writes about Megaliths Away and Almighty Sweat.
"Activist Cleve Jones says he plans to stay in Castro apartment and fight rent increase"
[...]
"LGBTQ activist and leader Cleve Jones announced Sunday that he has decided to stay in the Castro neighborhood apartment where he’s lived for 12 years..."

12 years of rent-control free-loading off a landlord isn't enough.
Oh, poor dear, a rent increase on his second home (bachelor pad) in the city! How will he ever survive!
It's even more instructive that he is trying to screw over an Asian woman.
you'd have to be out of your mind to choose to become a landlord is SF these days.
Also Virginia has legalized switchblades.
Can't carry them concealed though.
What a delightful ENB article on Second Amendment rights! Evidently the leveraged clout of millions upon millions of libertarian spoiler votes has, over the span of fifty years, finally reversed the momentum carrying us toward communo-fascist variants of socialism.
More states drop permit requirements for concealed carry.
New Jersey?
I keed.
New Jersey; what life in all of the US would be like had we lost the Revolution, or the Cold War
Will Smith slapped Oscar host Chris Rock onstage after Rock made a joke about Smith's wife's hair.
"Keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth!"
"As soon as she takes my dick out of hers!"
/That time Andrew Dice Clay hosted the Oscars.
It's the only entertaining aspect of that entire travesty
Two Midwestern states—Ohio and Indiana—have just stopped requiring a permit to carry a concealed firearm in public. These changes come on the heels of Alabama doing the same.
It's morning in America again. Love it.
Wait till Convention of States succeeds with their Article V efforts.
The reaction to it will be the biggest shit show meltdown ever. I foresee about 12 States [led by the likes of New Jersey] seceding over it.
Under current law, capital gains are taxed only when they are realized—when the asset is sold—and they are taxed at lower rates than ordinary income.
This is inaccurate. If you hold the asset for more than 1 year then you pay a lower tax rate on the gains. If you hold it for less than 1 year it counts as regular income.
Hey JesseAz! You missed a few comments. You're a sad troll if you let comments go unmolested. C'mon boy. You can find them. Make replies I won't read. Impress your friends. But if you're gonna do something do it right.
Gosh. Finding threads where I'm having a conversation with civil people and you shit it up are hard to find.

Shit it up. Make it uncomfortable for people to have conversations without being assaulted by you and your girlfriends.
I had a conversation today. About stuff, not people. On this form.
That means you're a failure.
"You" of course being the asshats I have on mute.
SHOW US THE LIST.
Ideas!
You really need to see a psychiatrist.
Ideas?
In other news, kung fu throwing stars still illegal, concealed or not.
Ninjas hardest hit.
"Biden's new tax scheme for wealthy households would collect on assets even if they aren't sold."
If that's the case, they will be selling those assets pretty soon in order to pay the tax for owning the asset. Then they can be taxed on owning it and then again for selling it. Double-good economics! Serves all those millionaires* making over 50 thousand a year right. How dare they try to accrue assets! You will own nothing and you WILL be happy!
*(The middle class will be the only one paying this tax).
That's awful! You mean shitty black ghettos where 95% of the crime occurs won't be allowed to overflow with impunity into civilization? The horror!
Whew! I thought for a second it said it was for making an illegal pickleball serve. But it might as well be. The article explains that he didn't do any construction at all, just refreshed the markings on an existing park court!
Heinous scum!
No doubt commits lots of thought crimes too.
i was thrilled when we eliminated our CCW requirements. Got some nice new 'waterfront' property once all the predictions of doom came true and the streets literally ran with blood. Almost like living in Venice /s
This is great news but please don't illustrate it with some dude slipping an unholstered pistol into his jeans pocket. By all means exercise the right to carry but please use a damned holster and don't Plaxico Burress yourself
Would note that Plaxico Burress didn't put the gun into his pocket. He was wearing sweats and put the gun in his waistband. Of course, it fell thru and he shot himself when he grabbed at it.
Close enough for government work
Hard not to agree with this decision, since the wokers and the anti gun nuts have undermined your civil security and evidenced that they are on the side of the criminals....Real Americans believe in law and order, the Constitution and inalienable rights....The other side, anti American, anti civil law, your rights are just spite and they will tell you, it is they who are now the top dog.....Here's the kicker, if you are not going to keep the criminals at bay, allow them to have the advantage, then more of them are going to die trying to commit acts of violence, robbery and assault, since you don't believe in law then call it justifiable homicide in the name of self defense....America 1st is a fact....
Want gun permits required? Then go live with tyrants! They love gun prohibition because it gives them more power. Permits also deny rights, the foundation of our republic, e.g., see the DOI.
I live as a sovereign. You may forfeit yours but don't presume you can take mine against my will, morally. You have "no right to deny right". Consensus is no excuse. Safety is no excuse. Force is not a practical substitute for reason, rights, choice. It's not humane.
