Facebook's Taliban Policy Could Delete a Lot More Than Just Pro-Taliban Content
Plus: Biden won't budge on Afghanistan, the link between cruise ship vaccine passports and free speech, and more...

Here's a look at some of the latest developments related to Afghanistan.
Facebook, Twitter, YouTube take different approaches to Taliban content. Facebook considers the Taliban a terrorist group and will continue to ban pro-Taliban content from Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, the company confirmed. Content moderators will continue to block not only content from Taliban-associated accounts but all pro-Taliban content, regardless of who is sharing it.
"The Taliban is sanctioned as a terrorist organization under U.S. law and we have banned them from our services under our Dangerous Organization policies," a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement. "This means we remove accounts maintained by or on behalf of the Taliban and prohibit praise, support, and representation of them."
As tends to be the case, Facebook is taking a more extreme approach than some of its competitors. Both YouTube and Twitter indicated that they would block Taliban content if it violates other platform policies (such as prohibitions on certain sorts of violent content) but will not unilaterally ban pro-Taliban content.
This seems to be the right approach, from both a first-principles free speech standpoint and a desire not to inadvertently block content that could be educational, newsworthy, or shared by ordinary Afghan users trying to get the word out about what's happening in their country.
A Twitter spokesperson told CNBC "the situation in Afghanistan is rapidly evolving. We're also witnessing people in the country using Twitter to seek help and assistance. Twitter's top priority is keeping people safe, and we remain vigilant." And Alphabet, which owns YouTube, "said it allows content that provides sufficient educational, documentary, scientific and artistic context," CNBC notes.
Rasmus Nielsen of the University of Oxford further outlined the danger of unintended consequences from policies like Facebook's, telling CNBC that "every time someone is banned there is a risk they were only using the platform for legitimate purposes. Given the disagreement over terms like 'terrorism' and who gets to designate individuals and groups as such, civil society groups and activists will want clarity about the nature and extent of collaboration with governments in making these decisions. And many users will seek reassurances that any technologies used for enforcement preserves their privacy."
Who's Arming the Taliban? Us. American investment in the Afghan military has ultimately benefited the Taliban. "A U.S. defense official on Monday confirmed the Taliban's sudden accumulation of U.S.-supplied Afghan equipment is enormous," reports the Associated Press. Their new cache includes guns, ammunition, and combat aircraft.
"The reversal is an embarrassing consequence of misjudging the viability of Afghan government forces — by the U.S. military as well as intelligence agencies — which in some cases chose to surrender their vehicles and weapons rather than fight," the A.P. says.
This is an all too common story—and one that suggests the futility of the U.S. trying to intervene in conflict-torn countries by supplying our preferred side with weapons and equipment.
For instance, military weapons purchased by the U.S. in 2015 made it to Islamic State in Iraq and Syria fighters within two months, Conflict Armament Research (CAR) revealed in 2017. "CAR used serial numbers or key markings on the weapons to trace them back to their origin and try to piece together how they were obtained by the militants," NBC News reported at the time. "CAR found that one anti-tank missile sold to the U.S. Army made its way to ISIS in just 59 days." At least some of these weapons were initially given by American authorities to fighters in Syria that the U.S. government hoped would defeat Bashar Assad's regime and then the Islamic State. Others came from the U.S.—and other countries—during earlier conflicts.
Biden won't repeat Afghanistan mistake "of staying and fighting indefinitely." In a speech yesterday, President Joe Biden reiterated his commitment to continue evacuating U.S. troops, staff, and allies from Afghanistan, despite criticism from myriad angles.
"If anything, the developments of the past week reinforce that ending U.S. military involvement in Afghanistan now was the right decision," Biden said. "I will not repeat the mistakes we've made in the past. The mistake of staying and fighting indefinitely in a conflict that is not in the national security interest of the United States."

FREE MARKETS
Cruise ships, vaccines, and free speech. The fight over whether cruise ships out of Florida can require proof of COVID-19 vaccination from customers implicates the intersection of economic regulations and free speech, explains the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press:
On Aug. 8, a federal judge agreed to halt enforcement of a Florida law that prohibits businesses from requiring "patrons or customers to provide any documentation certifying COVID-19 vaccination or post-infection recovery to gain access to, entry upon, or services from the business operations in this state." The company that owns Norwegian Cruise Line brought the claim, arguing, among other things, that the law violates the First Amendment.
While the case may seem attenuated from both media law and technology, it actually grapples with an emerging issue we've been covering — the extent to which nominally "economic" regulations that unduly burden protected speech are constitutional. That question was front-and-center in the Trump administration's efforts to use emergency economic powers to shutter the communications platforms TikTok and WeChat by effectively prohibiting other businesses from providing them certain services.
The cruise line decision, by Judge Kathleen M. Williams of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, is a pretty by-the-book application of First Amendment doctrine. She first determines that the law is "content-based" because businesses are free to require COVID-19 test results and other non-COVID vaccination information, among other things. "

Dee Snyder of Twisted Sister talks creativity, cancel culture, and self-censorship. "As an artist, your job is to be open, creative, and a free thinker. You're supposed to let it flow and let pencil pushers worry about if you can legally get away with it," Snyder said in a recent interview with Metal Wani (transcribed here). "And I was very angry at myself that I was actually questioning something that I was writing because it might, in this current environment, offend people, because I used that word, so it sucks that we're still dealing with that, but I think it's going to be an ongoing battle for eternity." Snyder also discusses the shift from censors from the right in the 1980s to today's censorship from the left.

A U.S. defense official on Monday confirmed the Taliban's sudden accumulation of U.S.-supplied Afghan equipment is enormous...
Well, I certainly hope none of those had collapsible stocks.
More shoulder things that go up than you can shake a stick at
Heh. I should have refreshed before posting.
Does the Taliban actually have anyone capable of flying a helicopter or jet airplane? They seem more like a group whose core competency is goat humping and beheading.
Yes, the guys we trained. Also I am sure the Chinese would be happy to send advisors over.
Already there - - - -

Never get involved in a land war in Asia.
Not even when playing Risk.
Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line
God damn youre ignorant.
Brown people cannot operate complex machinery without the white man's help.
It is known.
Don’t call them dingers.
I'm sure we trained Afghan pilots who lean nationalist and socially conservative. Repair and maintenance are bigger issues but they can learn. Pakistan can help.
they can learn...
They have to make it to the 17th century first. If they can get there, then the building blocks for successful integration into the 22nd century can be taught. While they remain in the 7th century, nothing can be done to help them.
I'm sure China would be happy to purchase front-line US aircraft.
Would be/i>?
Why? They took the needed technology directly from our universities, manufacturers, and government already. They are building their own versions the same way the Soviets did.
Smug and assured of your own superiority is why people in your in-group all have the same stupid opinions; why didn't they tell you that this sort of speech is racist?
Marginalizing their fuck ups by everything suddenly becoming a joke is the lefty playbook. They can't help but be racists. When all you have is a hammer...
White Mike spent a week calling everybody traitors after Jan 6th. But the Taliban is a fucking punchline. What an asshole.
You’re a traitor.
You put a discredited pervert charlatan above your country.
You should hang Chuck. I’m all for a painful gruesome death as well. As a warning to other Mormons and traitors.
Exact same schtick for 3 days? Fucking boring.
Mute.
Yay I got the Mormon to mute me.
Celebrate dead Mormons come on!
Whoo hoo!
Fuck off, you psychotic, antisemitic piece-of-shit.
Ok ML way to show that you’re the one socking. Please cite me being anti Semitic or stop calling me it.
No faggot, he didn’t vote for Biden. You did. You’re the traitor. Just like most of your democrat friends.
I didn’t vote for Biden.
I do have friends that voted for Biden. I also have friends that voted for Trump. I don’t care. What irks me is the traitors who support the bs voter fraud claims. It’s over. Trump lost. Biden fucking sucks, but let’s move on.
What is my supposed in-group?
How about the ones you have directly praised, jeffy and sarc?
Dumbasses and liars. Lying dumbasses
Sophists, leftists, people generally ignorant of anything beyond a narrative.
Whatever the voices in their heads say.
You said mean things about Trump which means you're a raging leftist. After all, those are the only two options. Either you love Trump or you hate America. That's it.
Did you just miss her post above where she said the Taliban are too stupid to fly helicopters and fuck goats?
Fucking lefty trolls.
Unlike humorless folks who are no fun to be around, people such as yourself, I read that comment as intentionally exaggerating stereotypes. Otherwise known as a joke.
Sorry sarcasmic. That was a joke in the old days.
Today, those statements Mike made get you canceled. Or muted.
It's still a joke. Yes the audience is a bunch of thin-skinned pussies who reflexively label him a leftist and try to cancel him, but it's still a joke.
sarcasmic
August.12.2021 at 4:45 pm
I so don’t care anymore. I only show up to watch the clowns duke it out, while tossing in this or that provocation. Bread and circuses. This is a circus.
Your fucking tiresome.
*You're* fucking tiresome.
Haha. Well, lemme tell ya something about fried chicken, watermelon and pimpin’.
C’mon man, that’s at least as funny as goat fucker, right?
You’re cancelled in PDX my friend
Yeah I never make jokes around here.
Drunk ass troll.
Funny thing is I didn’t even say mean things about Trump. I said mean things about the Taliban.
You proved once again you are a racist piece of garbage. You prejudge individuals based on their affiliations regardless of context. Either that or you are a piece of shit liar, trying to deflect and marginalize the failures of the totalitarians you always support while claiming neutrality.
You should hang out with KAR. You two will get along great.
You've proved once again that some people never develop a sense of humor.
I agree. The lefty shell game played by you and White Mike is not the slightest bit funny.
Marginalization to cover failures is a tactic the left has perfected.
Feeling the need frame literally everything into a left/right political dichotomy must be really tiresome.
It also shows that you know absolutely nothing about libertarianism. Nothing at all.
Chuck P. (The Artist formerly known as CTSP): Hurr durr love Trump or leftist which is it hurr durr?
Hey look, sarc keeps bringing up Trump when no one else is. Because he’s a drunk TDS sufferer.
Yeah that’s the point. Sarc’s full of shit.
They seem more like a group whose core competency is goat humping and beheading.
And outlasting the best-funded military on the planet.
No, not really. They had a fairly successful assisination program against the pilots before the government fell. The government was already having a hard time keeping aircraft operational once US contractors pulled out. They cannot maintain them themselves, and most pilots are dead or have fled.
Pay no attention to the Jane Fonda Taliban fans around here. I can't believe how thoroughly unAmerican they are openly becoming.
The government was already having a hard time keeping aircraft operational once US contractors pulled out.
That shit happened in Iraq right around the time ISIS was moving down the Tigris to Baghdad. They couldn't keep their C-130s operational because the US contractors were the ones who actually did all the maintenance, and ISIS's blitzkreig led to them bugging out of the country. And Iraq wasn't some dirthole, it's a country that had a fairly sophisticated socio-economic infrastructure, at least until we bombed the shit out of them a second time. It's not like they didn't have experience in fixing modern equipment, but maybe all the competent maintainers and crew chiefs got killed and the existing ones were too lazy to really learn how.
Thanks for an informed answer.
Leave it to White Mike to miss the part the part about assassinations. Fucking circle-jerk of lefty NPCs.
They had a fairly successful assisination program
Calling out others as unAmerican on a libertarian blog site while bragging about government sanctioned murder? Seems like you don't take your oath to uphold the Constitution very seriously. Which is why nobody should ever make the mistake of taking you seriously.
I don't like DOL nor any opinion he's ever had on this board....however, writing 'Army X is proficient at skill Y' is not the same as writing 'I love Army X'.
Or that thing on the shoulder that goes up.
Did I miss an inside joke somewhere?
Some dumb lefty trying to describe characteristics of “assault weapons” a few years back. Forget who it was.
They're all the same
We need to remove all democrats from public service and reset the government as soon as possible. If we tolerate this level of leftism and utter incompetence much longer, there won’t be much left of America.
The mistake of staying and fighting indefinitely in a conflict that is not in the national security interest of the United States.
Biden's only ever correct foreign policy take was someone else's?
Trump and Pompeo have are now claiming they would have stayed and commited troops to fight the Taliban takeover.
Political opportunism or idiocy? You decide.
Regardless, whether it was the Trump administration's negotiated deal or whoever is handling the Biden administration decision making right now, it's a break in a long chain of disastrous national security decisions from a guy who's been in government 50 years.
"Political opportunism or idiocy? You decide."
Strazele? Idiocy.
Really? Trump be like, “Ken, stop praising me for architecting this withdrawal.”
Trump thinks he can say and do whatever he wants no matter how contradictory and Republicans will just go along with it.
Lol. Thats what you two are doing right now. Claiming budens withdrawal plans were unchangeable and left to him by Trump despite Buden changing the plan in April and stated so in press conferences.
Unlike Democrats when it comes to economics, right?
TrumpBiden thinks he can say and do whatever he wants no matter how contradictory andRepublicansthe Taliban will just go along with it.And the track record backs him up. Team politics over principles!
Projection.
Its okay unreason commies.
Thanks to Democrats, Trump and Grover Cleveland will be the only presidents elected twice non-consecutively.
As we know, Trump is the best president in US History after being impeached by the House commies twice. Double Impeachment by Commies is a badge of honor.
We all remember when Trump was going to withdraw US troops in an orderly manner but Congress denied all funds for that.
Remember when you bought into all that Kraken nonsense?
I do.
Remember when you bought into all that pee pee tape and Russian collusion nonsense and still insist that it was all 100% true even though the Mueller report that you routinely cite as supporting your claims says literally the polar, 180 degree exact opposite?
I do.
Biden stated even yesterday he didn't follow trumps withdrawal plan.. my God man. Stop digging. The plan executed was not the one left over. Hint. It isnt May.
Biden fucked up the withdraw thinking the Taliban and the rest of the world would cater to him like the sycophants he has surrounded himself with as well as the western press and the anti Trump internet trolls.
Meanwhile, the Kurds be like, “Sure, Trump, you would never withdraw, leaving allies in the lurch.”
Kurds (Kurdish: کورد ,Kurd) or Kurdish people are an Iranian[28][29][30] ethnic group native to the mountainous region of Kurdistan in Western Asia, which spans southeastern Turkey, northwestern Iran, northern Iraq, and northern Syria.
Mike thinks Afghanistan is iraq....
Mike refers to those in the ME as “you people.”
With the lack of illegitimate children attributable to him, it does seem like he's mastered the art of pulling out.
I don’t think this is a worry for Donald, or Joe, anymore.
Well that's a terrible paraphrase of what was actually said. They said they set up withdrawal on conditions of the deal and had actions in place if the taliban violated those conditions. Biden got rid of the laddered approach on the most incompetent withdrawal ever.
el presidente Biden was testing out the rout approach so Democrats know how to do it when American Patriots overthrow the Commies in the US govt.
Cite?
Pompeo has said some things along that line but Trump says Biden botched it by waiting too long to get out.
Even the taliban cited the exchange date of May 1st to sept 11th as a violation of the deal. US had no moral authority after Biden broke the agreement.
Also a strategic blunder: from spring, when the tribal teams are still showing up for training camps, to late summer, when the sport fighting season is well under way.
It's amazing how many people don't understand this (mostly on Twitter)
The fun part about having a plan in place and your successor choosing another path. Trump can say whatever he wants about his plan and no one can question whether it would be successful or not because the implemented plan sucked so badly. All Biden can do is point the finger at Trump but clearly he did not choose to implement the same plan and is being called on it by his loyal subjects as well as his detractors.
The worst part is the Afghans suffer the real consequence of the Biden debacle.
For Biden, people are seeing front and center what a lousy leader he really is as he shuttles blame from the Afghans to his administration and then to Trump, while scurrying away without fielding questions.
Meh. Most people, including reason commenters, will forever see only Trump and not-Trump (and assign good and evil as fits their inbred biases).
Some are starting to understand that Biden as not-Trump has a significant consequence beyond the abrasive personality.
The US completely botched the Afghanistan situation. But…no mean tweets.
Assume Trump’s plan was flawed. And we don’t know. Why would Biden follow a flawed plan that would lead to a humanitarian crisis, a transfer of state-of-the-art materiel to the Taliban and a colossal national image and relations disaster? Biden fucked this up seriously.
Weird, since they're both saying that there was a plan for withdrawal, which was cocked up, not followed. If you're going to lie, at least get a little bit of truth in there.
"Trump and Pompeo have are now claiming …"
That should be easy to substantiate with a link to something.
That includes quotation marks...
The fight over whether cruise ships out of Florida can require proof of COVID-19 vaccination from customers...
It's bans and mandates all the way down.
It amazes me that Reason staff continue to get sucked into this Tribal bullshit. The Left and the Right want nothing more than for us to be divided over the vaccination and masks and all that BS. Rather than talk about the rank incompetence of a government that keeps hitting us over and over again then telling us we deserve it, Reason staff wants to debate whether or not technically we deserved it.
From a libertarian principled stand, businesses should be able to determine who they hire and serve based on whatever criteria they deem appropriate. That includes your personal vaccination status. Of course, by that same principle, they should also be allowed to hire and serve based on other characteristics that the government bans today- including race, disability, religious or political beliefs, etc. It is utterly bizarre that Reason wants to fight this vaccination fight at the business level when they already concede (by silence) that there is little need to fight for a business's right to hire or serve based on, say, Racial discrimination.
Get back to addressing the real problem: an out of control government whose response to the pandemic has been as draconian as it has been incompetent- a government that is making universal vaccination to be the "cost" of regaining freedoms we once enjoyed freely as recently as 2019.
Could have been worse.
Stop foreshadowing.
“there is little need to fight for a business’s right to hire or serve based on, say, Racial discrimination.”
Is this a topic that has been relevant lately? I don’t recall seeing any recent controversies where any company has been trying to discriminate racially, so why would Reason be covering or opining on a topic that isn’t coming up in current events?
Way to miss the lead. Let me summarize it again:
Vaccination status is only relevant today because the incompetent government has strongly entangled our freedoms with vaccination status. They have done that by shutting down businesses arbitrarily and insisting that the only way out is masking/vaccination/doubleplusgoodvaccination.
The relevant discussion is whether or not a government should be allowed to do that, not whether businesses should be allowed to continue that farce.
You didn’t address my question at all? Why would anyone expect Reason to be reporting on or editorializing about racist hiring practices when there haven’t been any recent incidents of a private business being accused of racist hiring practices?
Would KMW wake up one morning and order someone on staff to write about a topic that isn’t relevant to anything going on in the world?
Mike Overt was saying it should be a choice not that is was happening whether that's something good or bad isn't relevant to the discussion. To why someone might write on it whether it's happening or not is to theorize or relate a point about a direction or consistent path of though.
He went beyond that to criticize Reason for being silent on the topic. Which was an odd criticism: why shouldn’t Reason be silent on an issue that isn’t coming up in current events.
Because the laws that disallow it are just as anti-libertarian as what you are claiming anti-vaccine card laws or orders would be.
You have no consistency in your arguments.
The NFL. They require teams interview a POC before hiring a head coach.
And nobody's stopping them from doing that, so?
Because some equality is more equal than other equality.
"You didn’t address my question at all? Why would anyone expect Reason to be reporting on or editorializing about racist hiring practices when there haven’t been any recent incidents of a private business being accused of racist hiring practices?"
Sorry, this is a poor formulation. In fact, every day, businesses are accused of racist hiring practices. Hell, last summer there was this whole rash of talks about the systemic racism of companies that are failing to hire in a diverse manner. Maybe you have seen something about it.
Plainly put, if a libertarian is going to put out the notion that "the government should stay out of the hiring practices of businesses" you have to anticipate one glaringly obvious counterpoint- that several very popular bits of legislation in the United States including the Americans with Disabilities Act and Civil Rights Act violate those principles. It is such an obvious counterpoint that failure to address it when you invoke this principle is either sloppy negligence or deliberate shirking of the debate.
As I said in my first post, this is a tactical error for Reason Staff. To make a Principled stand against prohibitions on using medical history (vax status) as a condition of employment is to make a principled stand against the CRA and ADA- full. stop.
Rather than get sucked into that debate, the Reason Staff should instead focus on the reason this is even an issue: A government that is holding our freedoms hostage until we submit and stick needles in our arms (maybe, unless they change their mind as they have for the past 16 months).
But that would be like helping old ladies cross a street they don't want to cross. None of those accused businesses say they want a racially slanted personnel mix — because none of them do want it. If we "stood up for their right" to do what they pointedly don't want to do, we'd just be a bunch of kooks. You don't persuade people that way.
None of those accused businesses say they want a racially slanted personnel mix — because none of them do want it.
Overt is correct I think. Whether anyone wants to use a right or not is immaterial. And the roots of the current issue are that we didn't fight against them when we should have. When we discuss it this time, we have 100 years of progressive failures to point to and undo.
Roberta, I think you might be surprised about (your quote) if you were able to get accurate answers to the correct questions. I wonder how many businesses after 60 years of Affirmative Action but in the absence of threatening legislation, would rationally think the best person for this job is probably not an African-American.
Soccer, football, basketball, and hockey companies all have merit based systems that result in racially unbalanced opportunities in their communities. Why is that ability explicitly denied to every other company and at every level of government in the US?
Old ladies may not want to cross that street, but they also didn't want to go to Concord. We should cross that street and point out that 60 years of Great Society proved something and it isn't that Johnson and the Democrats did us any good. Then the old ladies will willingly walk on the safe side of the street.
attribution
Old ladies may not want to cross that street, but they also didn’t want to go to Concord. (thnx kamala)
I guess this isn’t Reason per se, but Volokh has written on the topic fairly recently:
https://reason.com/volokh/2020/10/08/the-problem-with-mandated-diversity-statements-in-faculty-hiring-and-promotion/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+feedburner%2FJEwY+%28Reason+Magazine+Full+Feed%29
Dude, that's how arguments work on this forum. When Reason, or a commenter, doesn't say something about something, then the mind readers jump in to fill in the blanks. These elaborate strawmen become the narrative while what anyone actually says or does is completely ignored.
It's hilarious that this is posted right below overt's thorough argument
You mean the thorough whooping of a strawman?
You think overt is whooping a strawman there?
Yep. He thoroughly trounced Reason's non-argument regarding CRA and ADA. Strawman has been taken down. Reason sucks. Mission accomplished.
The entire point was Reason's non-argument though you retarded fucking shank.
"Hey, it's impossible to adequately address this topic unless we talk about this elephant in the room that Reason refuses to address."
OMG! HURRR DURRRRRRRRRRRR REASON NEVER ADDRESSED THAT ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM! STRAWMAN!
Let's just go ahead and add that to the litany of words you use having absolutely no fucking clue what they mean.
Thank you for proving my point.
Either sarcasmic still hasn't looked up what strwman means, or he's trolling.
Sigh. I know.
And when I would point out, on many different occasions, that Reason had actually written about whatever topic they were accused of ignoring, I was accused of “white knighting” for Reason. That’s an odd “accusation” to throw at someone, since we all presumably spend time here because we like Reason.
They don't like Reason. They like to bitch. And when you contradict the narrative with facts you're screwing things up. You're the bad guy. They're not interested in facts. They're not interested in actual arguments. They're just having a conservative circle-jerk, and when we point out these articles that they say don't exist, or point out that they're flailing at strawmen, we're may as well be throwing buckets of ice water onto their naked laps.
Lmfao. This from the pathetic sniveling little bitch who has literally posted every single day this year about how he's persecuted and offended by people whose posts he supposedly can't read because he has muted them. This of course after he fled to Glibertarians and promised never to return only to show back up less than 24 hours later.
Just mute me and you won't have a stroke when you read my comments. Easy peasy.
It's hilarious that you think you've ever elicited anything other than the sort of tender pity one reserves for the terminally retarded from me or anyone else.
Unlike you, I don't need a safe space where I can absorb the pleasing aroma of my own flatulence undisturbed by any possibility of seeing or hearing something I don't agree with.
This is hardly a libertarian echo chamber. Libertarians are not welcome in the comments. Most people here are openly hostile to libertarians and libertarian principles. The only people smelling their own farts are the conservative brigade who jumps on anyone doesn't worship Trump, and then preen themselves with comment after comment about the person they jumped.
Most people here are openly hostile to libertarians and libertarian principles.
That's because the vast majority of the articles posted are hostile to libertarians and libertarian principles and this has been true for a while now. Due to this, the magazine and the blog, are actively courting a nonLibertarian demographic and it's worked. Consequence: Most libertarians have left.
The thing is, you lie constantly though. Like just above when you tried to suggest that Volokh - an independent blog hosted at Reason.com - "addressed" the issue of the Civil Rights Act infringing on hiring practices when they did not in fact address that aspect of the issue, and do not represent the editorial stance of Reason. You do that quite literally every time you try this shtick, I guess hoping that no one will actually follow your links and see that they bear little or no actual resemblance to what you've suggested they are. This happens for two reasons: one, you're a liar, and two, you're an idiot. You run a Google word search for site:reason.com and then indiscriminately post the first couple links you find ignoring the context of the article or any of its actual content to say "See! Reason did discuss this precise issue!" when in fact the words have merely popped up in a tangential or, more often than not, completely and totally unrelated topic.
By the way, if you let a little more time elapse before you reply to yourself on one of your sockpuppets it's a little less obvious.
You mean like how you've spent 5 and a half years now histrionically screeching like the miserable cunt that you are that anybody who doesn't regurgitate DNC talking points like you is an irredeemable Trump cultist and deserves to be shot in the face?
"histrionically screeching"
People with a sense of humor call it exaggeration.
"regurgitate DNC talking points"
Yet nobody has ever provided a comment where I did that.
"deserves to be shot in the face"
You've got me confused with Nardz. He's the one who advocates for murdering people who don't share his politics.
Except that you're not exaggerating. You routinely start arguments and then when you get decisively owned because you have the mind of a single-move chess player you declare victory by coming around hours later and claiming it was all just a joke. It's such a routine practice among morons like you that there's an entire meme devoted to it.
Yes. They have. Over and over again. When they do, you play the "I was only pretending to be retarded" game and declare that everyone other than you needs to lighten up.
And yet it was you who said that an unarmed protester deserved to be shot in the face, and that all the rest of the equally unarmed protesters in the same location should also have been shot in the face. This after you spent 8 months claiming that not a single person associated with BLM or Antifa had ever committed any crimes and that efforts to prevent them from lighting buildings on fire with people inside were an authoritarian threat to free speech. Ahh, but of course, you were only kidding when you spent 8-12 hours every day for the better part of year saying those things. LOL! GOTTEM!
Quite the elaborate strawman you've got there. So easy to argue against.
Go ahead and argue with it. Trounce it. Burn it. Have fun.
Anyone who actually reads my comments instead of the narrative knows the truth.
So party on. Enjoy. I'm not playing.
Yes. They have. Over and over again.
No. They haven't. Not once.
Many will say "sarc didn't talk about [insert hobby horse here] which means he believes [insert strawman here]!!!!!111!1"
But nobody has once quoted me "regurgitating DNC talking points" because for one thing I don't know what they are, and secondly no such quote exists.
So party on Mister Attack Troll. Have fun. I'm sure your fans will orgasm as they masturbate while reading your words.

I so don’t care anymore. I only show up to watch the clowns duke it out, while tossing in this or that provocation. Bread and circuses. This is a circus.
“Lede”, by the way.
Public accommodation rules have always been a sticking point for some libertarians on the drive to, um, liberty.
To the classic notion of liberty from government tyranny, yes.
Overt .. your missing the government pressure on these businesses such as through health inspectors or CDC threats. The cruise industry quickly adapted to the CDC pressure to require cards. This is the same as universities and the Dear Colleague letter under Obama for rape trials on campus. Your views deny reality.
If the government is going to assert pressure I for one prefer it to be pressure that keeps private information private. A business should not know my medical history unless they are a medical provider.
This is just like open border arguments that ignore all the costs and destruction of the immigrants.
You also ignore corporate collusion and pressure through banking system like we saw in the SV companies all banning Alex Jones and Amazon booting Parler or with operation chokepoint. Arguing solely from an ideal situation is untenable in reality.
America does not need public accommodation. Businesses should be able to hire/fire anyone they want for any reason and not serve/serve anyone for any reason.
State governments created segregation policy and enforced it. Once segregation was deemed unconstitutional and stopped, businesses should have been able to still refuse service. The market will impact those businesses that dont want money. It did. Northern companies made far more money than southern companies. The South was very poor overall until Democrats got kicked out of power and Republicans took over.
Public accommodation is racist and leads to "black owned business" being celebrated but "white owned business" being labeled as racist.
Wow. LC's got a point here. Bravo.
Yes, it is in his user name
"Overt .. your missing the government pressure on these businesses such as through health inspectors or CDC threats. "
No, that was exactly my point:
-- Get back to addressing the real problem: an out of control government whose response to the pandemic has been as draconian as it has been incompetent- a government that is making universal vaccination to be the “cost” of regaining freedoms we once enjoyed freely as recently as 2019.
-- Vaccination status is only relevant today because the incompetent government has strongly entangled our freedoms with vaccination status. They have done that by shutting down businesses arbitrarily and insisting that the only way out is masking/vaccination/doubleplusgoodvaccination.
Compounding your second point Overt....the policies the government is promulgating wrt vax/mask/boost/restrictions are not based on biological science, or statistics.
Policymakers are following the science: political science. And it is disastrous to our individual liberty.
because the incompetent government has strongly entangled our freedoms with vaccination status
We didn't even blink when schools began to requir vaccinations to attend, because we didn't see its future consequences. It hits your main point above. Reason (and us) should be exploring the root causes (that's two today Kam) instead of the myriad symptoms of same.
Hindsight being 20 20, I submit the root (of our current problems) should be summarized as being all Amendments after the 15th and virtually all of the Twentieth Century Federal Legislation based on progressive or fiscal policies.
Let's revisit and rescind those that haven't achieved their advertised results.
"It amazes me that Reason staff continue to get sucked into this Tribal bullshit."
From my perspective, 99% of ALL politics is tribal, and always has been. If Reason (and other outlets), didn't report it, there would be very little, if anything, to report.
Maybe this is too much Inside Baseball, but I studied debate for a long time. The worst thing you can do in a debate is allow your opponent to trick you into defending a position that doesn't help your cause. And usually they do that by appealing to emotion.
What Reason is doing is allowing the enemies (Left and Right Establishment) to define the battle grounds. Rather than argue that this problem is caused by government's implicit (and sometimes explicit) demand that everyone get vaccinated or they will shut down businesses again, Reason staff are letting themselves get sucked into this one tiny policy question. And when they apply libertarian principles to this specific policy question, they find themselves defending Discriminatory hiring practices.
Again, whatever you think about the principle, if you want to make progress in this debate, backing yourself into that rhetorical corner is STUPID. And the Reason Staff should avoid that trap.
Reason is near 100% establishmentarian leftists.
They aren't getting sucked in to anything, they're providing faux "opposition" to deflect from the real issues, as you point out.
Yup. unreason commies chose to be Propagandists.
They know exactly what they are doing. They also get to destroy a popular Libertarian discussion spot to boot.
It has to be that, since the turtles are all dead from inhaling plastic straws.
You're supposed to let it flow and let pencil pushers worry about if you can legally get away with it...
Creativity is problematic.
I live in hotels, tear out the walls....

A Tennessee vaccination official who claimed she was sent a muzzle actually sent it to herself, an investigation found.
Amazon had it so back ordered that she forgot she bought it.
What a fucking shocker.
5 seconds after this story came out everyone called it out as a Jussie Smollet re-do. These people have no shame.
Every time there is a voice in my head telling me to be less of a cynical asshole, another one of these shameless libs comes along and proves me right
Texas "Gov. Greg Abbott's position on private vaccination requirements is confused and confusing..."
Like he was going to be the sole voice of clarity in public health policy out there.
• "U.S. experts are expected to recommend COVID-19 vaccine boosters for all Americans, regardless of age, eight months after they received their second dose of the shot, to ensure lasting protection against the coronavirus as the delta variant spreads across the country," reports the A.P.
Flu season boosters! Who could have seen this coming?
All this because a cold bug is evolving to act more like a cold bug.
Vaccines injected into our muscles are highly effective at stimulating internal immunity. This largely protects vaccinated people from being overwhelmed by the coronavirus, unless they have an immunodeficiency or are exposed to an unusually large amount of the virus. Vaccination will dramatically reduce your likelihood of serious illness or death if you’re exposed to SARS-CoV-2.
In contrast, mucosal immunity provides the first line of defense by protecting the nose and mouth, and by doing so also reduces spread to others. The mucous membranes secrete a particular form of antibodies of the Immunoglobulin A type, or IgA. But vaccines injected into our muscles—including all the approved inoculations against Covid—are largely ineffective at stimulating the secretion of IgA into our noses that occurs after actual infection with a virus. As a result, vaccinated people can contract a Covid-19 infection confined to the mucous membranes. They may get the sniffles but can spread the virus to others even if they are asymptomatic. That’s why it makes sense for them to wear a mask under some circumstances.
...
[D]ata from the Mayo Clinic suggests that efficacy of the vaccines against nasal infection, including asymptomatic cases, has fallen from the original level of around 90% to 76% for the Moderna vaccine and 42% for the Pfizer vaccine since Delta’s emergence. It follows that herd immunity from intramuscular vaccination is still possible, but it would require either a higher level of vaccination or continued masking and social distancing.
Why it’s time to move on from Covid
The Delta variant may have dashed hopes of herd immunity, but we can still live with the virus.
What’s the big deal? What’s wrong with boosters?
Its the mandate. You know this. Youre dishonest.
Like all vaccinations. You would know this if you had attended a school. You got to get your shots up to date whenever you begin or change schools. Y'all are the whinest people. Jesus.
Make sure you get that third jab to protect you from possibly catching a cold. Well, you'll still catch the cold, but maybe it'll be a slightly less bad cold.
IF that cold kills 600,000 people in 18 months, I'm damned sure I'll get the jab. I value my life. Those who do not value their lives are free to do as they please.
IF that cold kills 600,000 people in 18 months, I’m damned sure I’ll get the jab.
By that logic, pretty much every fast food restaurant and soda should be banned, considering about 600,000 a die from heart disease alone, not to mention diabetes.
Progressive Karens are working on that.
We'll be just fine, as the vast majority have been before an experimental pseudo-vaccine was pushed on everybody.
And citing numbers from people who have spent 18 straight months lying about everything, to the point of changing the definition of herd immunity to exclude natural immunity, doesn't help your credibility.
If you want to get the vaccine, cool, go for it. But try not being a pompous douche pimping for neurotic leftist totalitarianism.
Are you non obese under 55? You're more likely to die in a car accident. Do you drive 25 mph or slower every day to mitigate that risk?
crawl on them knees, shitlord, and lick them boots!
And parents can easily get exceptions. And no one knows who got the exception.
Be careful man!!! Do NOT piss off Sevo the Pedo, man!!! Sevo the Pedo has special permission to insult others all day every day, with unfounded accusations, but can NOT be trolled by disrespectin’ others!!! Or else Super-Perv-Predator-Sevo the Pedo, Hippo in a Speedo, will SUE you in the courts of Government Almighty!!! Pedo’s LAWYERS might wear speedos IN YOUR FACE in court ass well, so BEWARE!!!
Awwwww poor sarcasmic the perpetual victim needs some attention.
Why do you call him that? It might rhyme but it's totally dickish.
Dickish names for dickish people! Let them taste their own meds! (It would be better if Super-Perv-Predator-Sevo the Pedo, Hippo in a Speedo, would takes its meds as prescribed, faithfully, but it often refuses, for unknown reasons).
I agree that he's a dick. But you don't need to stoop to his level.
It is not a mandate for schools. There are exemptions. They strongly suggest it, they do not mandate. You would know this if you weren't an incel.
"Like all vaccinations. You would know this if you had attended a school."
Like all drugs...you would know this if you ever had to get a job. Just take your mandatory drug test before getting your job. Or getting a drivers license. Or welfare.
Nothing, per se. I'm an early and enthusiastic adopter of vaccinations. But entangling our freedoms with vaccination status is evil, impractical, and ultimately counterproductive.
The article you linked to says “recommend”. Recommending isn’t coercion. Are you making a slippery slope argument that the recommendation will lead to coercion?
And here white mike ignores the issue of vaccine cards and business which is the primary order of topic being discussed.
You don't think there is any kind of coercion going on regarding getting vaccines? When multiple jurisdictions are now trying to require it to go out in the world and conduct one's affairs? As I see it, that is the most fundamental and essential right anyone has and it is under serious attack. Some things are more important than trying to ensure that as few people as possible get infected with one particular virus.
+1
So argue against the coercion, but orthogonal to any coercion going on, making a recommendation to get a booster shot is not coercion.
Just like "censor this speech we don't like or you might find yourself in antitrust court" is not coercion. You've been making the same tired talking point for 4 years.
Judging by conduct to this point it's inevitable.
It's also part of a long-running bitch of mine that all of these public health recs utterly fail to account for naturally acquired resistances when they're proposed / implemented, likely because the CDC et al have spent zero effort conducting or enabling seroprevalence monitoring.
*or encouraging
You think that's accidental?
No, I think they're just incompetent - mostly because they keep revealing themselves to be incompetent. But there's no desire among this admin to correct that incompetence because it flatters their own biases.
Private companies developing miracle drugs through innovation and pluck is libertarianism 1.0. It had its peak around 2009. Now libertarianism is right-wing grievance politics and complaints about Twitter bans and restaurants that won’t let you in without a vaccine and/or mask. That’s L2.0. Some consider it a downgrade like Windows ME, but probably— no definitely— worse.
Freedom of speech and association is now right wing grievance politics?
The libertarian crowd here was supportive of Trump’s efforts to fast-track the miracle vaccine. That wasn’t in 2009.
Private companies developing miracle drugs through innovation and pluck is libertarianism 1.0. It had its peak around 2009.
So, the last time you paid your mortgage?
Now libertarianism is....
I checked the Super Secret Libertarian GuideTM.....and right before it told me that it doesn't exist (see No TrueScotsman Fallacy), it told me it was absolutely sure you have no say in defining libertarians or libertarianism.
The jab works so well you need 3! Or 5. Or 10. Or maybe one every 6 months forever.
This seems to be the right approach, from both a first-principles free speech standpoint and a desire not to inadvertently block content that could be educational, newsworthy, or shared by ordinary Afghan users trying to get the word out about what's happening in their country.
So YouTube blocks Rand Paul and others for sharing medical information that the CDC and NIH have both stated... and reason yells muh private companies.
Discussions on banning the taliban and allowing them to speak absent other violations and it is a defense of first principles.
God damn ENB.
I dont want wither censored. You seem to prefer one to the other.
Well, in one case, Rand Paul was disagreeing with the CDC.
If the Taliban were trying to disagree with the CDC, that would be different.
Obviously, no one should be allowed to disagree with the CDC.
Oh, and the First Amendment was written by slaveowners.
Rand paul actually said the exact same thing the NIH director said on CNN 2 weeks prior for his second strike.
The CDC may be the government, but it's a government agency staffed by experts, and you're not allowed to disagree with experts--the First Amendment doesn't say anything about disagreeing with experts.
And, besides, not only was the First Amendment written by racists, but it's used to defend racist statements. Supporting the First Amendment is, therefore, racist, and you should be ashamed of yourself.
You probably celebrate on the Fourth of July, too, don't you?
Technically, the Taliban violated the CDC’s eviction moratorium.
lol
Actually I think the Taliban is pro mask and lockdown. It's a funny world.
Well, they for damn sure are for masks and lockdown for the women - - - - - - - -
You win
I just find it funny that the TALIBAN is not possibly making incendiary comments...but TRUMP is.
Rand Paul is icky. The Taliban merely rape children and behead apostates.
ENB knows who not to defend.
California police officers and prison guards have lower vaccination rates than the general population.
Higher influence rates on state government, though.

When children (well, college students) are going bullied in this country you don't necessarily need your choice of 14 different social media platforms.
If it saves just one sophomore!
Early indications seem to be that the Taliban's efforts are relatively restrained.
"The Taliban strengthened control of the Afghan capital Tuesday as many stores reopened, traffic police returned to their posts and a senior official from the Islamist movement arrived for contacts with political leaders affiliated with the fallen Afghan republic.
In Kabul, the Taliban, who proclaimed the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan when they first seized the country in 1996, have so far refrained from the kind of radical actions that brought world-wide condemnation in the past. They issued an amnesty for government officials and on Tuesday allowed female presenters on television channels.
The only known execution since the capital’s Sunday takeover was of Abu Omar Khorasani, the former head of Islamic State in South Asia, who was taken by the Taliban from an Afghan government prison and killed on the spot, according to officials. A photo of his body was later posted on social media.
----WSJ
1) If the stores reopening and the traffic cops are showing up for work, that suggests the local population in Kabul thinks it's safe enough to do those things. Compare that to, say, Minneapolis in the wake of George Floyd. IF IF IF life returns to normal from shopkeepers and former city workers, despite the Taliban takeover, then fears of massacres, etc. may be overblown.
2) The most likely reason why the Taliban wants to meet with former Kabul government officials is because by including them within the government, the Taliban may be able to receive both international recognition and foreign aid. It's being reported that Karzai, for instance, has remained in Kabul.
3) Allowing women to be on television, etc. may be an indication that they're taking a moderate stance for now, as well. I don't think we're looking at an ISIS style takeover so much as we're probably looking at something like the way life used to be in Iran and Saudi Arabia with the religious police.
4) Only one execution--and that appears be score settling of a former ISIS commander, who may have betrayed someone in the Taliban at some point? That's not what I expected.
Conclusion: There's no way Afghanistan won't turn into a theocratic Islamic republic under the Taliban, but there is reason to be cautiously optimistic that maybe the transition won't be especially bloody in Kabul.
There only being 1 known execution contradicts reports of people in the area
Both could be propaganda or disinfo.
Unconfirmed, seven died at the Kabul airport during the evacuation. Two fell from planes and five were run over.
There's video of the Taliban opening up fire outside the airport, but I didn't see if anyone was hit. US soldiers reported they killed at least two men who approached with weapons. Don't know if those events were related.
There's also some posting about a translator who was tortured and killed in an especially gruesome manner.
The Taliban understood that they could take Kabul without much bloodshed.
Biden is all sizzle and no steak. China understands this too and can take Taiwan if they want it.
To be fair, China could take Taiwan and there is little any president could do to stop it, besides open war with China and the American people wouldn't tolerate that.
I don’t think China would with a strong leader in the White House. But the US doesn’t have one.
Maybe my opinion of Democrats is lower than the rest of you, but I could easily see this administration offering Taiwan to China in exchange for something.
You mean, like a good consultant job for Hunter?
Probably right.
China has in fact announced exercises off the coast of Taiwan "in response to provocation"
"besides open war with China and the American people wouldn’t tolerate that."
If Chinese airplanes and boats were en route to Taiwan they would, by necessity, be forced to destroy american ships and airplanes. The US is reluctant to get in a war, but kill our soldiers and they will flip that bit real quick.
You'd think so, but I don't know anymore
China is reluctant to take Taiwan because it would endanger their trade relationships, it would screw up foreign investment, and because they're concerned about what it would do to the Taiwanese economy--and ultimately China's economy.
Taiwan is especially important to the semiconductor industry. Interrupting that supply chain could be devastating to China's export economy. My understanding is that TSMC is majority owned by foreign stockholders, and I've heard that they supply more than 50% of the world's semiconductors.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TSMC
China doesn't invade Taiwan because it isn't in China's interests to invade Taiwan. The rationale for bringing China into the WTO at the end of the Cold War had security implications, and that strategy continues to pay off. Once you plug your economy into world markets, the decision you make are driven by market concerns.
Biden may try to evade the blame for his mistakes, but the negative consequences of his decisions are inescapable. Emperor Xi has the same problem. There's this thing called reality, and it has a way of asserting itself through the negative consequences of our choices. Sooner or later, markets reflect those realities, and it doesn't matter whether Emperor Xi likes that or not.
He can take Taiwan, but he can't escape whatever the negative consequences are of doing so.
Yet Putin took Crimea. And the world wasn’t so reliant on products Made in Russia.
They are experiencing internal issues with the flooding. Dams failing, high rises leaning and deaths. Totalitarian governments sometimes look abroad when there are problems at home.
My response was eaten by the squirrels.
Suffice it to say, if Russia's economy were more dependent on exports to the west, Putin would be more reluctant to take the Crimea.
The west can’t find labor at $5/day to make cheap goods.
Putin took Crimea because it was Russian. Beijing sees Taiwan as theirs. I agree with you that there would be negative consequences. A weak POTUS in the WH reduces those consequences.
Indeed, Putin recognizes this. He wrote a paper at the end of the Soviet Union making exactly this point- that Russia could gain freedom of movement on the international stage by getting Europe dependent on her natural resources. While they stand to lose money if Germany stops buying their Natural Gas, Germany stands to freeze in the winter. For quick wars, Russia understands that this calculus buys them freedom to do what they need.
Russia was never going to let Crimea fall to a hostile foreign power, and the Crimean people wouldn't like it either.
Crimea is Russian.
It's an accident of history due to poor Soviet leadership and Kruschev's sole decision that Crimea was ever separated from Russia and given to Ukraine.
You really need to wrap your head the fact that Russia's "invasion" of Crimea was entirely defensive.
How are yall still clinging to the bullshit framing that the Maidan was some organic revolution for freedom and Kiev are the good guys vs Donbas despite all the evidence to the contrary?
Ken, you astutely consider that government's role/duty is to protect their people's rights.
Crimeans consider themselves Russian and Russians consider Crimeans Russian.
What was Russia doing if not protecting Crimeans from being taken over by a hostile government, which came to power via unconstitutional coup, who are outlawing their people's language?
Whether they should or shouldn't wasn't the question in the Crimea or Taiwan. The question was why Putin did what he did and why Xi hasn't (at least not yet), and the explanations for that have nothing to do with "should" or "ought" or what's right or wrong. The reason Xi hasn't certainly isn't because he cares how the people of Taiwan feel.
Some things are true regardless of whether we like them, and one of the differences between us and the progressives is that we see the world as it is, and they live in a world of make believe, where the negative consequences of what they want to do are nothing but paranoia, conspiracy theories, ignorance and misinformation.
Paranoia, conspiracy theories, ignorance and misinformation (AKA reality) just bent over Biden's September 11, 2021 handover plans and screwed them like the jailhouse bitch. That's what happens when the progressive/neocon world of make-believe comes in contact with reality.
Emperor Xi can make the mistakes he wants, but he can't escape the negative consequences of his choices, and the thing that's keeping him from doing what he want in Taiwan is his fear of the negative consequences. I wish Joe Biden were more competent.
Fair enough, that's a separate point.
But even with Bush 2 in office, no way in hell Russia let's Crimea get taken over by a hostile government playing footsie with NATO, though that isn't meant to detract from your point at all
My guess is the Taliban want to secure order and control before they start anything else. If they create a panic the whole place could collapse and starving mobs with nothing to lose would be a real threat.
Give it a few weeks.
We'll see.
They'll implement Sharia either way, but they may skip the massacres completely.
Pretty sure some degree of massacre is obligatory. Kinda like the compulsories at the Olympics.
But it might actually be directed at some of their own - power consolidation being essential.
I also think that if they go to hard before we leave completely that we would make that an excuse to stay. Give it 6 months though...
This is reminiscent of the "Hundred Flowers" policy under Mao in Red China. It was just a ploy to get dissenters out of the woodwork, who were then subsequently targeted in The Cultural Revolution.

Yawn! Old news bro. But if you insist, you should know that the Afghan govt didn't want us to facilitate a mass exodus. And you'll be happy to know that the US has been facilitating immigration from Afghanistan for years now! We can still help the people of Afghanistan too!
Hi non sequitur. I know you, dol, and Mike seem invested in protecting Biden at all costs. But when even MSNBC and CNN admit the problems maybe you should take a hint?
Even the Taliban was surprised by the speed with which the Afghan govt surrendered. The US made mistakes but starting a war with the Taliban to arrest their takeover wasn't one of them. Biden did have the good sense to secure that airport. It's an ugly situation because the Afghan govt was corrupt, incompetent and maybe just not that in to western values. America's mistake was putting any trust or money into that corrupt govt.
The Taliban has more effective leadership than currently in the US. And both nations now have blackhawk helicopters.
Sounds like a problem for the Pakistani govt. The Taliban is coming!
Uh, try some research. You don't know what you're posting about.
Think of it like this. The Pakistani govt is like a Mitch McConnell Republican and the Taliban is like the QAnon Republicans.
Think of it like this: You're full of shit.
So you're saying the Taliban doesn't exist at all?
Wow, you're really uninformed about the situation
No, you're confused. The Taliban is more radical and revolutionary and a threat to the leaders of Pakistan who aren't as committed fundamentalists.
This is true. And Biden just armed the radicals similar to how he and Obama armed ISIS.
"Even the Taliban was surprised by the speed with which the Afghan govt surrendered..."
We're dealing with a steaming pile of lefty shit in his 3rd year of 6th grade, and he claims to know what the Taliban thinks?
Stuff your droolin' Joe excuses up your ass; nobody's buying your bullshit.
You're the child Sevo. A whiny little baby.
We’re dealing with a steaming pile of lefty shit in his 3rd year of 6th grade.
Stuff your droolin’ Joe excuses up your ass; nobody’s buying your bullshit.
Do they still let you wipe off the oatmeal from Biden’s chin in the morning after you suck Hunter’s dick for breakfast?
“Even the Taliban was surprised by the speed with which the Afghan govt surrendered”
US intelligence: just as good as Taliban.
the US has been facilitating immigration from Afghanistan for years now
Tell it to the State Department.
"...Old news bro..."
Shitlord drug that excuse out of the closet? Really?
Who's ready for some football!? Trust me, nothing sticks.
Never trust steaming piles of lefty shit.
Want to travel to NYC? Bring your vaccine passport and ID. Still no ID to vote though.
https://thefederalist.com/2021/08/17/de-blasio-new-york-citys-entrance-papers-will-require-vaccination-plus-an-id/
So if I visit NY, I can vote?
Yes. But you’ll need ID and a COVID passport if you want to eat at a Sbarro.
Why not? You probably voted 3 times in the last election without even going there.
Going to be interesting to see how they dance around the fact that minorities are pretty heavily represented in the non-vaxxed.
Saw a NYT article trying to ease into it the other day.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/12/nyregion/covid-vaccine-black-young-new-yorkers.html
Of course the sacred (B)lacks aren't chastised as they would be if they were R's, or even just white. No, they go on to list a bunch of reasons that it is understandable that only 28% are vaxxed in this article. Reasons including, I already had COVID, or I have been working at my shitty job for over a year all through this pandemic and have been fine, why would I get it now? If a guy in a MAGA hat said this he would be publicly scolded and shouted down as an anti-science, grandma killing bigot.
But apparently when its black people we can't be too hard on em right? Just treat them like kids who dont understand?
Or they can just use the standard answer "Trump's fault!"
Going to be interesting to see how they dance around the fact that minorities are pretty heavily represented in the non-vaxxed.
No one's gonna 'dance' around anything. They'll ignore it and let 'minorities' do what they want.
And if they get infected and die, it's a win-win.
Why does anyone think the left has any use for minorities (or anyone, for that matter) besides as fodder to be spent in the quest for power?
"Going to be interesting to see how they dance around the fact that minorities are pretty heavily represented in the non-vaxxed."
It is utterly insane that it hasn't been the first thing mentioned whenever some lefty asshole dares to talk about Hicks failing to get vaccinated. It is by and large minorities, aka Dem Voters, who are declining to be vaccinated. This is an internal Dem problem, and we won't allow them to shift it on rural americans who have little to no need to vaccinate for a virus that impacts them far less than the cities.
I've seen leftists come right out and say it's ok and logical for minorities to distrust vaccines, but ignorant redneck trumpism for whites.
Reality and consistency are poison to leftists.
Of course, Twitter was suspending people who pointed out that vax requirements had desperate impact, thus systemically racist.
A new lawsuit argues that California's recall vote is unconstitutional.

It's the age old choice: ballots or bullets.
Hey, we have to protect the voters from themselves!
Or is that protect the politicians from the voters.
State puft col Vindman is on a book tour where he infers he was the initiator of the first impeachment and of the first attempt didn't work he would have tried something else.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/byron-yorks-daily-memo-lt-col-vindman-returns
Says many were working to unseat trump from within government. Denies this was a deep state action.
I thought it was Eric Chinchilla.
Vindman told Ciaramella who was the whistle blower.
Of you read the interview excerpts vindman states he was protecting Biden.
U.S. experts are expected to recommend COVID-19 vaccine boosters for all Americans, regardless of age, eight months after they received their second dose of the shot, to ensure lasting protection against the coronavirus as the delta variant spreads across the country...
U.S. experts in funneling money to Big Pharma.
Recommending it before a single controlled trial is even finished.
Aren’t we libertarians for less FDA bureaucracy?
They are anti mandate. Not anti information dummy.
"WE", you slimy pile of lefty shit?
Mike is a conditional libertarian.
I'll go with 'Mike is full of shit'.
& normally I'd agree with you, but here....not so much. It's been a basic premise that a libertarian government wouldn't have an FDA at all, not EPA, BATF, OSHA, etc, etc, et.......
Mike's cool with the legal weed and buttsex, but after that things get iffy. Particularly all that hateful "free speech" nonsense.
I'm all for allowing it.
Recommending it is a different case.
"This is an all too common story—and one that suggests the futility of the U.S. trying to intervene in conflict-torn countries by supplying our preferred side with weapons and equipment."
Yep, much more money (and useful turmoil) to be made from arming both sides.
"CAR found that one anti-tank missile sold to the U.S. Army made its way to ISIS in just 59 days."
Meh. With Amazon Prime they could have had it overnight.
One. Were there more?
"Any political settlement that the Afghans pursue to avert bloodshed must include having women at the table."
----Nancy Pelosi, August 14, 2021
https://www.speaker.gov/newsroom/81421-1
If the Taliban never start massacring people, we may never know how much bloodshed Nancy Pelosi would have accepted before finally dropping her demand that the Taliban negotiate with feminists. I'd have bet the death toll would need to be in the thousands before she relented, probably much higher. After all, forcing people to make sacrifices for the greater good is what being progressive is all about, and the more you're willing to sacrifice, the more standing you have as a progressive.
P.S. I suspect Pelosi's statement is indefensible, but I can be persuaded. Is there anyone here who can make a reasonable argument defending Pelosi's statement? I suspect the best defense of it is that she didn't really mean it, which isn't really a defense at all.
Meh. I think it is worth pointing out that Pelosi's statement is absurd on its face. We don't know how many bodies were enough, because Pelosi was never going to be put in a position where her silly calculation actually mattered. To borrow one of your constructions, she wants you to take her literally, but not seriously. She wants you to understand just how concerned she is about women's rights, but never in a million years would she expect any of the people actually executing policy on the ground to seriously apply her concerns.
I sit in meetings all the time where it is clear who is grand standing and who is serious about getting shit done. In the former case are the engineers and architects who have no skin in the game. If you go off investigating their digressions and fulfilling their concerns, you will never complete your project. And that means nothing to them. They have no skin in the game other than how important they look stroking their beards in a meeting. The people who actually take the project seriously are the ones willing to make trade offs and acknowledge time/budget pressures and other realities.
So even if the Taliban were to show themselves to be the murdering bastards we suspect them to be, it costs nothing for Pelosi to make these demands because she has zero skin in the game. The way to deal with her, is the way to deal with the beard strokers in my technical meetings: Ask them to clarify and to own the consequences of their decision. "Are you prepared to help us implement that protocol so we can complete it in time for launch? No? You weren't serious? Ok." "Nancy, are you prepared to continue funding our adventure in Afghanistan until the Taliban have reformed? No? You weren't serious? Ok."
People do need to have their bluff called more. In a lot of areas, especially surrounding political tribal shit.
Double maskers who show up to an event and eventually get tired of the virtue signaling and have their masks off, despite the virus being concerning enough for it to merit them working from home, masking in their car etc. Oh ya, also the protests that were supported, often with no masks, when treatments were being figured out and there was no vaccine.
All the politicians that were pants shitting on TV but then seen maskless at parties (Cuomo's), maskless indoors shoulder to shoulder with lobbyists at fancy dinners (Newsom), getting special salon treatment despite demanding everyone shut down (Pelosi).
All the losers who cry for "equal pay" but rather than encourage women to take up careers that would give them that, they instead ask us for paid leave for a year which really just moves women further away from careers that would earn them what a man earns.
As you said, most of these people aren't often looking for a solution and are not willing to stand on their principles, they want to make a lot of noise and virtue signal, and be seen doing so.
"We don’t know how many bodies were enough, because Pelosi was never going to be put in a position where her silly calculation actually mattered."
For the record, the primary objection to Trump's withdrawal deal with the Taliban has always been that it doesn't require the Taliban to guarantee the rights of women after we leave.
When I look at a photo of any given Taliban fighter and try to imagine their leaders signing off on the Equal Rights Amendment, it seems ridiculous. That and knowing the Taliban is lead by a group of Islamic fundamentalist religious scholars leads me to suspect when the progressives insist that they guarantee the rights of women in any peace deal, the progressives are being disingenuous. That demand of the Taliban is so absurd and ridiculous, it seems to me that the progressives must be hiding their true intentions--which is that they have no desire to end the war in Afghanistan at all. If we can't leave until the Taliban becomes feminist, then we can never leave.
That being said, maybe we should consider the possibility that the progressives are absolutely genuine in this demand. What if social justice for feminists is something they're willing to fight for in reality? As destructive, expensive, and futile as the effort to turn the Taliban into feminists is, it is not inconsistent with progressive ideology. They'll call for defunding the police and then cheer on mobs of arsonists. They'll destroy our quality of life as a means to fighting climate change. Why should refusing to prevent bloodshed until the Taliban negotiates with feminists suddenly be too absurd?
Assuming Pelosi is being disingenuous is giving her the benefit of the doubt, isn't it?
That being said, maybe we should consider the possibility that the progressives are absolutely genuine in this demand.
So the debate lies in whether the establishment progs are more arrogant and dumb than disingenuous, or vice versa.
This might take years to suss out.
Yes.
"If we can’t leave until the Taliban becomes feminist, then we can never leave."
But again, I think this only matters if you take Pelosi seriously. While it is always possible that she is setting these absurd conditions because she doesn't want us out of Afghanistan, she could also be setting these absurd conditions because SHE KNOWS that her opinion in this DOESN'T MATTER. She knows that nobody in the administration is going to take her seriously.
In the game theory here, she has a bunch of options. But if we reduce that down to three, they could be:
1) Make a bold statement for women, knowing that the administration will continue dealing with Afghanistan despite her "concerns".
2) Give support to the Administration, including explaining to her constituents the complexities of supporting a brutal regime if it means getting out of a forever war.
3) Shut up, and miss an opportunity to hear/see herself talk/type.
Again, there is ZERO possibility that what she says actually affects the Afghanistan policy so there is no outcome where this statement results in paying a price wrt getting out of Afghanistan. So of the possible outcomes, #1 is obviously the most desirable (to her). It costs her nothing, and gains her some good feelz from her moon-eyed supporters. It gains here a defense from accusations that she supports the Taliban. And it may even get her an easy attack of an opponent if they try giving exactly the defense you give. #2- giving Biden air cover actually is the least acceptable outcome. There is absolutely no gain for her in supporting Biden, and a cost in someone saying "Pelosi was happy to support rapists for political expediency."
Again, she wants you to take her literally, not seriously.
The side by side of the cnn female reporter one day apart with and without a hijab is telling.
That diptych sums up a lot.
Yep. When you so quickly and adeptly knuckle under it's a safe bet you are never going to be the winner.
Life is like that, and the Nancy Pelosis of the world should be treated accordingly.
Just that I’m not sure it matters what she says since Congress has ceded so much war power to the Presidency.
Nancy does enjoy a good Stalin omelette.
“Any political settlement that the Afghans pursue to avert bloodshed must include having women at the table.”
—-Nancy Pelosi, August 14, 2021
A statement like this shows just how far our political class is detached from reality (the State Department issued a similar statement). These lunatics just got their ass handed to them by a tribe of mountain people who were deemed all but eliminated back in 2004, and they're still going on as if they have any kind of leverage to use. They're in no position to be demanding a goddamn motherfucking thing from the Taliban or anyone else.
"Women at the table"? Get bent, you hag. As if these guys are going to give a single solitary fuck about the pretenses of western progressivism. "Ooh, let's have women at the table so they can explain why Allah approves of men who think they're women and why we need to be more like the decadent, weak, cowardly, Satanic United States!"
These people have no credibility anymore. They've gotten so used to lying and speaking their ideology into existence since the 1970s, they don't have the capability to understand how to deal with people who don't give a single shit about their opinions, and basically just provided the blueprint on how to bring them down. On top of that, their stupid ideological purges are turning off the Warrior Caste they relied on to act as cannon fodder for their global social engineering schemes. "Let the 1st Non-Binary Brigade take the bullets this time, this country isn't worth defending anymore." No civilization survives perpetual subversion, and you can't keep a country alive when it's run by people who hate it.
They're either delusional, insane, or both, and these delusional symptoms aren't unusual for them. They're the same way on climate change, defunding the police, and a whole list of other things, too. It's central to progressive "thought".
You need to be as delusional or dishonest as they are to believe the things they believe, too--as exemplified by everyone from ChemJeff and White Knight to Shrike and the others. Their pronouncements are delusional at best and the measure of reality to their ignorant and irrational believers.
They’re either delusional, insane, or both, and these delusional symptoms aren’t unusual for them.
I was recently made aware of an article published by the turbo-feminists at Hipatia Press called "Women’s Studies as Virus: Institutional Feminism, Affect, and the Projection of Danger." Check this shit out:
"This paper theorizes that one future pedagogical priority of women’s studies is to train students not only to master a body of knowledge but also to serve as symbolic “viruses” that infect, unsettle, and disrupt traditional and entrenched fields. In this essay, we first posit how the metaphor of the virus in part exemplifies an ideal feminist pedagogy, and we then investigate how both women’s studies and the spread of actual viruses (e.g., Ebola, HIV) produce similar kinds of emotional responses in others."
These idiots were unironically comparing their ideology in favorable terms to viruses with high fatality rates. A pretty disturbing analogy, considering what an immune system does when it reacts to a virus--it either forms antibodies and expels it, gaining immunity, or it gets overloaded and the body dies. They blatantly admit in the article that they gaslight their students with cultural Marxist bullshit and kafkatrapping, and that this is actually a good thing because feminism as an ideology is a subversive one that destroys institutions.
People like this are utterly insane, but they're cunning enough to understand that their subversion is due to the general tolerance of liberalism towards "the marketplace of ideas." When someone is blatantly admitting that their ideology is deadly to that marketplace, the reaction is inevitable because they're showing that they cannot be reasoned with at all.
"These idiots were unironically comparing their ideology in favorable terms to viruses with high fatality rates.
Their intentions aren't even good.
"The fight over whether cruise ships out of Florida can require proof of COVID-19 vaccination from customers implicates the intersection of economic regulations and free speech, explains the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press"
But how do they feel about cakes?
I'm just curious, what's the Taliban's stance on vaccines and masks (and the coof in general)? It would be hilarious if they got banned for spreading COVID "misinformation."
https://futurism.com/taliban-bans-covid-vaccine
They seem to be anti-vaxxers.
I anticipate news stories in a week or two revealing that the US military cargo jet carrying 640 people out of Afghanistan was a super spreader of covid.
Just like masks, scarves and burkas don't provide protection from covid.
"Biden won't budge on Afghanistan"
Again.
Anyway, there are something like 10,000 American civilians still there "sheltering in place" while the Taliban allegedly is going around door-to-door disarming the populace, looking for anybody who worked with the US, and looking for westerners. 7,000 US troops have been sent back in, more than were there prior to withdrawal.
PS - sounds like "friendly chants of death to America" are 2021s "mostly peaceful protests"
So... we'll see.
Liz Nolan Klain needs to explain how scrapping the Doha agreement, the May 1 deadline, and halting the withdrawal wasnt budging. Declaring a new 9/11 deadline, and then not realizing how bad that was and listening to the blowback, rushing it up 6 weeks - wasnt budging.
And abandoning the airfields and our weapons, and pulling all the troops out before the civiklians, only to rush 7,000 troops back in as the country collspsed - isnt budging.
We had no idea just how much she wishes she was Tara Reade, or at least had her ridiculous hair sniffed
Facebook says the Taliban is a terrorist organization. And over the weekend, Biden gave the Taliban a cache of modern weapons. Facebook, you gonna ban Biden?
Is it in Facebook's business interests to banhammer people saying nice things about the Taliban? Or Bidens?
"A bleeding and raped First Amendment was found at the side of Highway 230 yesterday. Suspects Tom Perez and Mark Zuckerberg are still at large."
Private property rights were found dead alongside the Self-Righteous Right-Wing Wrong-Nuts Highway. Prime suspect MarxistMammaryBahnFuhrer is still at large... At VERY large and floppy, especially in her mammaries! But certainly NOT in her intellectual powers! ONLY in her powers of GRAB-GRAB-GRAB, in the name of Government Almighty! So beware of both MarxistMammaryBahnFuhrer and Government Almighty!
Look at him folks, it's SQRLSY, the famous First Amendment rapist. Big government control of social media is his top priority.
Look at you spreading disinformation. Arming the Taliban was strictly Trump's plan
"...Snyder also discusses the shift from censors from the right in the 1980s to today's censorship from the left..."
'Nuff said.
Tipper Gore was on the right? I recall John Denver having to chastise congress over banning music.
Whatever her other politics, the PMRC stuff was certainly coming from a socially conservative place.
Bullshit
How so? They were worried about kids being morally corrupted by pop music. That's not some progressive move, that's good old fashioned cultural conservatism.
Because Tipper Gore isn't right-wing nor is she conservative.
A little song, as dictate to me my the ghost of Charlie Daniels (original in link)
Hopped on AMTRAK in Wilmington
Got off in Washington
Said that Kabul would never fall back to the Taliban
It went sideways, it took 5 days
I gave a speech, and said no more
Then went back to Camp David
And hid behind its doors
'Cause I just lost Bagram
Worse than Saigon
My legacy's gone
With my feeble mind.
Perfect!
“U.S. states counted at least 193,204 so-called breakthrough cases among vaccinated people between Jan. 1 and early August, according to data that health departments in 44 states and Washington, D.C., provided to the Journal. The figure represents 0.1% of the more than 136 million fully vaccinated people in those states and the capital.”
https://www.wsj.com/articles/as-delta-surges-covid-19-breakthrough-cases-remain-uncommon-11629199800?
One tenth of one percent.
I’m getting on my flight today anyway.
Also, I can’t help but speculate that the breakthrough cases may be people who were exposed to the virus after they were vaccinated but before their immune systems were fully beefed up. Even with the Johnson & Johnson one shot and done vaccine, it takes a couple of weeks for someone’s immune system to be at full strength against the virus. That tiny percentage of breakthrough cases may include those who were infected in those first couple of weeks after they were vaccinated.
I was vaccinated a long time ago, and so was the lady that cut my hair yesterday. She wanted to talk about the people who won't get vaccinated. I wanted to talk about why we both had to wear masks. I'm a big tipper, so you'd think I'd have prevailed. It's funny, though, how you don't feel like arguing with beautiful women after they've given you a head massage. If she'd cooked for me, I'd have had to resist the urge to buy her a house. She has a truly unique and fascinating point of view, and that's what I really appreciate about her.
Sounds hot. I need a haircut. How far is it from Vancouver?
The problem is that people don't appreciate how this all works. A vaccine doesn't create a hermitic seal around your body, or your cells. When you contract the virus, it still has the ability to infect individual cells, replicate and continue infecting more. You continue to have this virus until your body can mount an effective response to the virus. That time is significantly decreased by a vaccine (or previous infection) but it does take time.
Perhaps a person who was vaccinated 6 months ago takes a little longer for their body to source and replicate the antibodies necessary to fight off the infection. It should be unsurprising that a check will confirm that they have the virus, and if they spend a weekend in a club bumping and grinding with sweaty viruses, it is possible that they pass it on during that abbreviated time while their body fought it off.
Rather than look at "infection" as binary, you need to look at it as a time series. If you were able to monitor the viral load in a person 100% of the time, you might find that they are exposed to and carry the virus several times- but that their immune system handles it most of the time without a problem. It wouldn't shock me to find that the virus ends up in far MORE vaccinated people than we are currently measuring, merely because we are NOT measuring everyone's viral load 100% of the time.
the percentage of people who contracted covid after being vaccinated is irrelevant without more context. How many in total contracted the virus? How many of the 200 million unvaccinated?
200k over 6 months has to be fairly large portion of everyone infected over those 6 months.
If 'Twitter's top priority is keeping people safe,' then they would shut down, for the children, or something. And ENB, given the opium production and raw materials (lithium, you've noticed the renewable energy cult by now) the Taliban don't really need our hastily abandoned weapons and equipment. The aircraft though, that is going to leave a mark.
FFS.
Why is this a big deal?
Exactly. What is the big deal? Manage yourself and avoid being a Karen.
But white Mike is the epitome of a karen
Great. This will create a rush to get the one shot J&J vaccine, so the second shot never comes, and the booster is not required.
Right?
Content moderators will continue to block not only content from Taliban-associated accounts but all pro-Taliban content, regardless of who is sharing it.
Hey, SQRLSY, White Mike and chemjeff, explain to me again how this is somehow in the interests of pRivAtE companies, and totally not orchestrated by the US government.
Sure it's the fucking Taliban, but censoring people who say nice things about them is still facist as hell... particularly when it happens through corporatist methods.
Why do you hate private companies?
Why does trud constatnly lie?
turd lies like most people breathe; it's what he does. turd lies when telling the truth would have the same result.'
turd is a pathological liar and entirely too stupid to realize everyone else knows he lies.
turd lies, period.
MammaryBahnFuhrer doesn't so much HATE private companies; she just lusts after controlling them via the powers of Government Almighty. Government Almighty control of what USED to be privately owned... Sound familiar? I imagine that MarxistMammaryBahnFuhrer will ALSO pinky-swear to us all, that EVENTUALLY, some Sunny Day, Government Almighty control will just quietly fade away! To nothingness, to match what she holds inside her cranium!
asshole spastic flag!
Super-Perv-Predator-Sevo the Pedo, Hippo in a Speedo, defends Marxism! What an utter surprise!
spastic asshole gets flagged again
Me - "social media companies are being controlled by the federal government."
Sqrlsy - "(You) lust after controlling them via the powers of Government Almighty."
Not even kindergarten kids are this illiterate and idiotic.
I don't think that this Sqrlsy guy actually reads what he's responding to. He seems to be just a troll.
You fascist-Marxist right-wing wrong-nut assholes simply dream that YOU can get YOUR way, and control the media in favor of right-wing wrong-nuts! In a billion years, you can NOT think your way through it, and imagine that the powers that you grant to Government Almighty, to regulate media YOUR way, will, instead, be used by LEFT-wing wrong-nut assholes, to get things THEIR way! Can you figure this out? EVER? Did you notice that Biden won an election? Or you still believe that the Lizard People stole the election?
When you endorse Section 230, which is a rare and fine example of Government Almighty limiting its own powers... THEN I will believe that you actually have functioning neurons inside your craniums somewhere!
spaz flag!
He's right. You're just an angry little troll hiding behind your mental illness as an excuse for your behavior.
MarxistMammaryBahnFuhrer got her ass kicked AGAIN, by facts and logic, and has NOTHING left, other than insults! What a surprise!
You spurt a bunch of insults without any facts (or logic) and then have the temerity to claim that's what everyone else doing.
What a dishonest snake and troll you are.
And you still didn't actually address the fact that 230(c)(1) is the mechanism whereby the government influences the social media to evade the First Amendment.
MammaryBahnFuhrer can’t refute the FACTS, as usual… What a surprise!
Lusts-after-your-web-sites Marxist “Christian Theological Expert” MammaryBahnFuhrer thinks that one of the Ten Commandments read as follows:
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s. Unless thy neighbor art a corporatist in Thine Righteous Eyes, in which case, Thou shalt steal ALL of their stuff & shit, howsoever Thy Power-Hungry Right-Wing Wrong-Nut Marxist Heart may desire.
See, he shitposts unrelated copypasta because he's a troll, who doesn't have the brains to actually form a cohesive counter-argument.
Pure projection!
Refute the below!
Look, I’ll make it pretty simple for simpletons. A prime argument of enemies of Section 230 is, since the government does such a HUGE favor for owners of web sites, by PROTECTING web site owners from being sued (in the courts of Government Almighty) as a “publisher”, then this is an unfair treatment of web site owners! Who SHOULD (lacking “unfair” section 230 provisions) be able to get SUED for the writings of OTHER PEOPLE! And punished by Government Almighty, for disobeying any and all decrees from Government Almighty’s courts, after getting sued!
In a nutshell: Government Almighty should be able to boss around your uses of your web site, because, after all, Government Almighty is “protecting” you… From Government Almighty!!!
Wow, just THINK of what we could do with this logic! Government Almighty is “protecting” you from getting sued in matters concerning who you chose to date or marry… In matters concerning what line of work you chose… What you eat and drink… What you read… What you think… Therefore, Government Almighty should be able to boss you around on ALL of these matters, and more! The only limits are the imaginations and power-lusts of politicians!
Not one word in that retarded squealing addressed the fact that social media companies are being controlled by the federal government using the Good Samaritan clause in 230.
Even ENB points out above how this is happening, but you continue to lie about it.
The dishonesty and word-warping functions in the 2 or 3 neurons (at most) left in MarxistMammaryBahnFuhrer's so-called "brain" prevents her from specifying HOW it is that ANY part of Section 230 enables Government Almighty coercion of media!
Look, MarxistMammaryBahnFuhrer, Section 230 says that your web site belongs to YOU! HOW are things going to be improved by assigning control over to Government Almighty?
OPEN QUESTIONS FOR ALL ENEMIES OF SECTION 230
The day after tomorrow, you get a jury summons. You will be asked to rule in the following case: A poster posted the following to social media: “Government Almighty LOVES US ALL, FAR more than we can EVER know!”
This attracted protests from liberals, who thought that they may have detected hints of sarcasm, which was hurtful, and invalidated the personhoods of a few Sensitive Souls. It ALSO attracted protests from conservatives, who were miffed that this was a PARTIAL truth only (thereby being at least partially a lie), with the REAL, full TRUTH AND ONLY THE TRUTH being, “Government Almighty of Der TrumpfenFuhrer ONLY, LOVES US ALL, FAR more than we can EVER know! Thou shalt have NO Government Almighty without Der TrumpfenFuhrer, for Our TrumpfenFuhrer is a jealous Government Almighty!”
Ministry of Truth, and Ministry of Hurt Baby Feelings, officials were consulted. Now there are charges!
QUESTIONS FOR YOU THE JUROR:
“Government Almighty LOVES US ALL”, true or false?
“Government Almighty LOVES US ALL”, hurtful sarcasm or not?
Will you be utterly delighted to serve on this jury? Keep in mind that OJ Simpson got an 11-month criminal trial! And a 4-month civil trial!
Are you so retarded that you think shouting the same basically unrelated bullshit over and over again counts as facts or a refutation? Squealing "Gubemint alrighty luvs us" doesn't mean fucking anything.
Answer the question properly or fuck off.
MammaryBahnFuhrer can’t think straight or write straight, at ALL! MammaryBahnFuhrer can’t be happy unless she controls EVERYTHING under the sun! MammaryBahnFuhrer, you are hopeless! Go grow a brain!
See, no arguement. Just his usual name-calling and horseshit.
Why do you hate To Catch a Predator? Never mind. We know why.
Why do you hate private companies?
Why do you pretend this isn't actually the governments interests being advanced rather than private companies? Why is it in Facebook's best interests to block Abdul in the UAE from publically approving of the Taliban?
Why is it in the interests of the USA public, to let MarxistMammaryBahnFurher (from Inner Islamic Canuckistanistanistanistan, no less) take control of the media, with or without the involvement of Government Almighty? What is wrong with Section 230, and private ownership? Tell us (without your usual side-stepping by lying and name-calling), HOW does Section 230 favor the government, or one company over another?
Section 230 …
https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20200531/23325444617/hello-youve-been-referred-here-because-youre-wrong-about-section-230-communications-decency-act.shtml

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_230
230(c)(2) is the mechanism that allows the government to threaten or cajole social media providers into censoring people who criticize of oppose it's policies.
We see this with Covid and we see it in this very fucking article with the Taliban.
Of course, you know this, but you're a fascist, hate-filled, lying troll who wants government censorship.
Hey MarxistMammaryBahnFurher… No matter HOW many times you tell your “Big Lie”, it is NOT true! You’re part of the mob, aren’t you, gangster? For a small fee, you tell small businesses that you will “protect” them… From you and your mob! Refute the below, ye greedy authoritarian who wants to shit all over the concept of private property!
Look, I’ll make it pretty simple for simpletons. See, nothing but lies and squeals of rage from this fascist fuck, who adamantly refuses to address what even ENB acknowledges above is government censorship.
Just like every authoritarian extremist, SQEALSY Gruppenführer is accusing people of what he is actually doing.
Look, moron, your argument boils down to "Joe BidenFuhrer and company threaten to tear down Section 230, and in so doing, strong-arm Facebooooo etc. into doing whatever Der BidenFuhrer wants Facebooooo etc. to do."
Facebooooo etc. ideally would hold fast and go to court to enforce Section 230 as written, if they had balls... AND they were willing to piss off their LIBERAL users by posting all of the lies that their CONSERVATURD users want to post! But that's a digression.
My REAL point is your willingness to tear down Section 230, because YOU don't get YOUR way all the time!
And HERE: Murder is outlawed! If Joe Biden got his way by, say, threatening to REMOVE murder penalties for anyone who murders MarxistMammaryBahnFurher, would you advocate abolishing the underlying GOOD laws against murder? As you advocate REMOVING a GOOD law, which is Section 230? Hissy-whiny crybaby doesn't get HER way, then solution is to steam-roll all of the GOOD laws in sight, into the pavement? Stupid, evil BITCH you are!
See, he still refuses to answer the accusations even Reason Magazine is making about government censorship of social media, and just squeals that everyone else is doing what he in fact is doing.
He's a fucking troll.
Hey MarxistMammaryBahnFurher… Please cite for me, ONE LOUSY PERSON with an internet connection, ANYWHERE in the nominally free world, who can NOT freely access ALL of the lies of Der TrumpfenFuher, OR Der BidenFuhrer, OR Die MarxistMammaryBahnFurher… At will! Any time, any day!
Now cry me a river, whining crybaby!
Americans. Every single one of them. Including you, you pathetic fascist.

Heard you were lusting over twenty nine year olds. But then some of the parents found out and warned you. So now you are only lusting over sixteen nine year olds.

No amount of bullshit and gaslighting from Reason from here on out is going to change the fact that the entire world now knows what an incompetent jackass Biden is. Even the people who were ecstatic that he won knows. By the time he’s done, Jimmy Carter will seem like George Washington in comparison. Obama knew and even told people by the way.
“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to fuck things up.”
-Barack Obama in 2020
This is like the day after the 2016 election all over again. What’s hilarious is Joe Biden is the only person in the White House that doesn’t know how badly Joe Biden fucked this up. Reading the denial, confusion and anger comments from all the lefty pieces of shit here is the icing on the cake.

The State Department calls on the Taliban to form an “inclusive and representative government.”
This is not a Babylon Bee skit. It’s a real thing that just happened.

Next up: More liberals to side with the Taliban's "equitable" treatment of women while continuing to compare Christian women to the handmaid's tale.
Bullshit.
I'm a liberal and I say Islam is a vile, despicable belief system.
The problem is that all the Abrahamic religions are cut out of the same cloth. Christianity is garbage too, but has been softened up by us secular humanists in an open society.
You're a proggy, turd, a lying proggy.
Do you recall the awesome enchanter named “Tim”, in “Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail”? The one who could “summon fire without flint or tinder”? Well, you remind me of Tim… You are an enchanter who can summon persuasion without facts or logic!
So I discussed your awesome talents with some dear personal friends on the Reason staff… Accordingly…
Reason staff has asked me to convey the following message to you:
Hi Fantastically Talented Author:
Obviously, you are a silver-tongued orator, and you also know how to translate your spectacular talents to the written word! We at Reason have need for writers like you, who have near-magical persuasive powers, without having to write at great, tedious length, or resorting to boring facts and citations.
At Reason, we pay above-market-band salaries to permanent staff, or above-market-band per-word-based fees to freelancers, at your choice. To both permanent staff, and to free-lancers, we provide excellent health, dental, and vision benefits. We also provide FREE unlimited access to nubile young groupies, although we do firmly stipulate that persuasion, not coercion, MUST be applied when taking advantage of said nubile young groupies.
Please send your resume, and another sample of your writings, along with your salary or fee demands, to ReasonNeedsBrilliantlyPersuasiveWriters@Reason.com .
Thank You! -Reason Staff
Sqrlsy's stupid Tim copypasta is his white flag. It means he's lost the argument and is stomping off home.
Christianity is garbage too, but has been softened up by us secular humanists in an open society.
Weird how either your secular humanism doesn't predate Christianity and was seemingly birthed by it; or it does predate Christianity and, in the face of brutal tribal/religious cults, wasn't able to make any headway on human/civil rights until Christianity provided the Magna Carta, the printing press, the Enlightenment, MLK Jr., etc., etc.
I'm sure when Caligula was destroying Rome that wasn't true secular humanism, because reasons. The dawn of the Progressive Era, when Americans began the shift towards urban dwelling, leaving the various churches, and enacting Prohibition wasn't true secular humanism either, because reasons. Matter of fact, this whole secular humanism schtick sounds really familiar.
until Christianity provided the Magna Carta, the printing press, the Enlightenment, MLK Jr., etc., etc.
Since Christianity provided none of that, save King, and DID, in fact, have it's fangs pulled by the very Enlightenment you're trying to attribute to it, this seems an odd stance.
As is thinking Caligula was a 'secular humanist' of any type. Caligula believed he was the messiah that jews prattled about. A religious stance by any turn of meaning.
The Progressive movement is an outgrowth of the tenets of the social gospel, leftist Christianity. NOT secular humanism.
In fact, secular humanism itself is that same social gospel, moved even more leftward, into the territory of godless Marxism--but not so far that they can no longer see the church.

You got a definitive work that defines secular human policy so that the lay person can objectively see how it threads all those needles or is it all the cogito ergo sum that Descartes proved was a gift from a benevolent God?
Because I can show you that an Archbishop wrote the Magna Carta and I can show you that Gutenberg's seminal work was The Bible and I can show you that The Enlightenment didn't defang and sweep aside Christianity only to, however vaguely, manage to keep it in sight by staying just this side of the Marxist abyss.
I can send you hundreds of links to Gutenberg's seminal work.
While all religions do have problems, it is fun watching libs turn themselves into knots trying to side with Islam because basically brown people. Thats what it comes down to. Christians usually vote republican and lean *gasp* CIS WHITE HETERO. Muslims are brown. That is as much thinking as the standard prog can stomach.
Ive had arguments with multiple libs that will go to bat on christianity being worse than islam. When they are pushed, aside from showing how completely ignorant they actually are of religion and culture, they end up having to go full on cognitive dissonance on the fact that the narrative they have been told is christians bad, muslims good (I mean, they are basically a minority that christians- the evil ones - oppose, so they have to be the heroes of our story, right?). This is despite the fact that women and LGBTQ people are treated infinitely worse in countries that are majority muslim and especially when muslim extremists are in power. They love to tout the handmaids tale to shit on christians while muslims openly shame, beat, rape, and oppress women in the streets, treating them essentially as property. But those christians, fuck them right?
Contrast that with countries that have heavy islamic influence. For all the left wants to cry that everything is unfair and our society is so terrible and unfair to minorities, LGBTQ, women...I would love for every one of them to spend a year in a muslim country. If they made it out alive, they would run back crying.
They love to tout the handmaids tale to shit on christians while muslims
And this only narrowly addresses the cognitive dissonance. They'll decry Abrahamic religions because The West is inherently evil and either ignore or strive to remain blissfully ignorant of the Hindu or Buddhist treatment of women (and people in general) in places like India, Tibet, Myanmar, etc. Not to mention all the various niche culture/religions in places like Africa and S. America.
Christians are evil because women make $0.77 on the dollar and haven't had the right to vote since 1789, but the fact that women are raped, forcibly circumcized, enslaved, and traded as property in Africa to this day is just proof of how evil and far-reaching Christian colonialism actually is.
It all comes down to hate/disdain for the familiar, fetishization/projection for the other.
Not projection, more fantisization. They get to imagine the other as The Good, noble savage according to their ideals
"Progressive" Secularists may do this but not this here Libertarian Atheist.
The Abrahamic, Vedic, and all other Supernatural Superstitions are all bogus boat-anchors on the neck of the faculty of Reason and scourges to Liberty and Humanity.
And "race" and "color" have nothing to do with it, especially since Islam originated in Arabia and Arabs under U.S. Immigration law are classified as "white."
And varying degrees of oppression of women and LGBTQ+ people by Christianity and Islam only underscores that both religions need to be left behind in the barbaric past.
“ Bullshit.
I’m a liberal and I say Islam is a vile, despicable belief system.”
Lol, bitch just shut the fuck up and take the giant L Pudding Brains Biden handed you morons. Take it good and hard.

• "U.S. experts are expected to recommend COVID-19 vaccine boosters for all Americans, regardless of age, eight months after they received their second dose of the shot, to ensure lasting protection against the coronavirus as the delta variant spreads across the country," reports the A.P
Except there is no evidence (that I've read/heard so far) indicating that J&J vaccine recipients have subsequently contracted covid (while recent studies found that just 42% of Pfizer vaccine recipients, and 75% of Moderno vaccine recipients, remained immune after 8 months).
In contrast, a recent study found J&J vaccines were still very effective after 8 months.
https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2108829
Unfortunately, left wing media propagandists (including AP) and Democrats refuse to mention differences between the three vaccines (that have been approved for emergency use by FDA).
I'm surprised that J&J hasn't started running ads boasting about the benefits of their covid vaccine (compared to Pfizer and Moderna). Then again, J&J may be more interested in giving (er selling) second vaccine shots to recipients (because doing so will improve sales and stock value).
They failed to design planned obsolescence into their vaccine.
Meanwhile, only 14 cases of covid reinfection have been documented in the US (and just 169 worldwide) during the past 18 months, indicating that >99.999% of people who have contracted covid are still immune (i.e. via natural immunity).
https://bnonews.com/index.php/2020/08/covid-19-reinfection-tracker/
But of course, virtually everyone who has exposed that extremely important fact has been censored/cancelled by Facebook, You Tube, Twitter, Tik Tok, and other left wing media propagandists.
Most of this stuff is being publicized and argued as a function of TDS, the defense of Gavin Newsom from recall, support for Fauci, and, indeed, resistance against those who don't want to be vaccinated and are largely seen as being on the right. This is also what's driving people to call for mask mandates.
I know there are legitimately scientific arguments behind both sides, but most of the discussion we see is really a function of culture war rhetoric. When California voted against gay marriage, the San Francisco city council retaliated against "breeders" by banning Happy Meals at McDonalds and going after male circumcision.
I see the delta variant arguments about mask mandates, and everything behind it, more or less the same way. It's progressives trying to lash out at the Americans they see as their enemies and the intended victims of those policies lashing back as best they can. Sometimes I feel like dignifying either side with a serious response is counterproductive.
We should all be free to make choices for ourselves about this stuff, and to the extent either side fails that test, they're wrong. It so happens that progressives fail this test miserably on this issue. And I find myself, IRL, responding to people in those terms. Progressives talk to me about facts and figures, and I talk to them about why they care.
“Sometimes I feel like dignifying either side with a serious response is counterproductive.”
Good to see you speaking against both sides.
Ken Stalker ^
Mike has two sides, the Democrats and the Democratic Party. Anything else is unconscionable.
I’m surprised that J&J hasn’t started running ads boasting about the benefits of their covid vaccine (compared to Pfizer and Moderna). Then again, J&J may be more interested in giving (er selling) second vaccine shots to recipients (because doing so will improve sales and stock value).
First, I think you've gotten the impression that the FDA is strictly a medical regulatory organization and that they've taken an Laissez-faire approach to regulating. They're also an advertising regulatory agency and I'm pretty sure they've taken a "All your ads are belong to us!" approach.
Along those lines, given recent warnings, one wrong line in the advertising and it may be discovered that J&J is a closely-held fundamentalist corporation.
Or the FDA could be taking the mafia approach to keep J&J in line.
"You got lotsa drugs in the review pipeline. Be a real shame if something happened to them."
I have somewhere around zero doubt that there are agreements with the Feds that the vaccine producers aren't allowed to even talk about their own vaccines. That all discussion of vaccine efficacy goes through Fauci's office. And no, I'm not being snarky. I literally believe that to be the case.
Who's Arming the Taliban? Us.
No shit Sherlock. Half the armchairs in America saw this photo and noticed something off about the M-4 to AK-47 ratio.
The Taliban should ban them.
Might also be some product selection going on. Doubt those guys in the picture are nobodies. And about the only way I would choose an AK platform over an M4 would be if I was literally going to be rolling in sand 24/7.
Might also be some product selection going on.
IDK, that's a bit of the point. Look at any pic of Taliban leadership in the last 5 yrs., in Afghanistan or Pakistan. The selection, even if only for photo ops, has widened.
And the U.S. trained trigger discipline. I couldn't get past that.
Snyder also discusses the shift from censors from the right in the 1980s to today's censorship from the left.
Tipper Gore and the PMRC were not 'censorship from the right'
And it if creepy AF to see how many people truly believe that it was.
But the cool kids were against labels on the music. So if the cool kids didn't like it, then it came from the right. It is known.
I'm confused. What office did Tipper Gore hold? If she didn't hold office, how was it censorship? /sarc
I'm not confused about HRC's crusade, from the 90s until '16, to censor video games.
I don't think it's unreasonable to call it from the right. Or at least from a very conservative impulse. Yeah, Tipper was married to a Democrat, but there were a lot more socially conservative democrats at the time and the other founders were wives of Republican politicians.
"I don’t think it’s unreasonable to call it from the right. Or at least from a very conservative impulse."
You equate "wants government control" with "conservative." Which explains your confusion.
ProtoKaren Tipper Gore is not and never has been a conservative.
You equate “wants government control” with “conservative.”
No, I don't do that and am not confused. I merely observe something about this particular episode. Tipper Gore sure as hell was conservative at least about this particular issue. There are lots of different kinds of conservatism. Not all are compatible with the ideals of freedom.
How would you characterize it? It certainly wasn't progressive or liberal.
It was entirely progressive
100%. They know better than the customers so this thing must be altered.
Right and Left are largely meaningless terms, but to the extent that Right = Traditional institutions and values, as a resident right-winger, the PMRC wpuld have to be considered Right Wing. The Gores were from rural Tennessee, at least their congressional district was at one time, and AGJr tried to maintain a patina of folksy conservativism, even pretending to be Pro Life for a while.
I guess to the extent the PMRC objected to misogynistic lyrics and the Nword in rap, that was still a stretch to call them Leftist

Looks like Biden's troubles in Afghanistan will get much worse in the next several days/weeks/months.
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2021/08/17/pentagon-spokesman-admits-theres-no-plan-to-help-americans-hiding-in-afghanistan-get-to-airport-n2594268
While Biden has/is deploying 7,000 US troops to guard the airport in Kabul (so Americans and Afghan allies can fly out of the country), the Taliban have surrounded the airport and blocked all roads to it..
The Taliban knows that everyone travelling to the airport is likely an American or an Afghan ally trying to get out of the country.
What a disaster.
Biden is the worst US president since James Buchanan (whose incompetence helped create the civil war).
I believe that Reason regulars referred to this as necessary, and much needed "humility".
Trigger warning: Libertarian content written by [a former] Reason contributor.
FYI, does anyone else feel like we're living through the Carter administration again, but with a president who can't form a coherent sentence?
Yes! Was about to write in a response to Ken, “Imagine if Carter had been reelected how many exploits there would have been by international bad actors.”

Former US intelligence colleagues are angry and deeply worried at what has happened in Afghanistan.
Here's what I'm hearing, and why there's nearly universal belief that America and the world are in for one of the most dangerous, unpredictable times in modern history.
1/12
Afghanistan has shown the world -- enemies & allies alike -- that our military & intel assets are largely irrelevant because we can't deploy them successfully.
The blame lays at the feet of multiple Presidents. The Generals. The Spies. The Congress.
America's Elites are trash.
China knows it.
They will become emboldened, covertly & overtly. War over Taiwan and contested islands in the S. China Sea and E. China Sea is now more likely.
Russia will consider similar covert & overt moves, focused on Crimea, & former Soviet satellites.
The fear is that China & Russia will act in concert.
Why? America was whipped by a tiny rebel force and couldn't even retreat properly.
Meanwhile, the American people are angry, COVID weary, & divided.
If there were ever a time to push American hegemony aside, this is it.
If Cold War III grows hot, America will need to quickly build up & work with foreign counterparts.
But who will trust America after Afghanistan?
Who believes we have the leadership to use our military might well?
Who will trust us when we say "We Will Stand With You"?
Beyond China/Russia, others will take gambles too.
Terror orgs like al-Qa'ida & ISIS are degraded but not dead. Their ideology is very much alive.
Iran's Hizballah -- with terror cells throughout the US -- may see an opening to create chaos too.
Meanwhile, the disaster inside Afghanistan is only just beginning.
The Taliban will launch a terror campaign against American collaborators. The pictures will shock the conscience of the world, further degrading American moral authority.
Biden & Co will struggle to respond.
There's also the nightmare of tactical weaponry now awash in Afghanistan, in the hands of the Taliban and -- soon -- on the global black market.
These arms will fuel chaos around the world for decades.
The Pentagon has no idea where this stuff is and no plans to destroy it.
Finally, if Afghani refugees pour into the US, there are profound implications for security, culture, the economy, & politics.
Are they properly vetted?
Do they hold Western / tolerant values re: women, gays?
Do they bring skills / education?
Which party will they support?
The existential problem is that America needs good leadership to right its ship but there is none.
Our federal bench is weak.
Biden is a corrupt old man. Impeachment is a long shot; VP Harris is an unpopular paperweight. The Legislature is a feckless cabal of empty suits.
Leadership could come from a state Governor, it's true, but not soon enough.
The above threats by China, Russia, & Co will metastasize well before the 2024 elections, and even a heroic new President will need years to clean things up.
Again, our enemies and allies know this.
Upshot: There is fear and outrage streaming through former intel officers over the Afghanistan debacle.
America is rudderless. And the world now knows it.
Grave dangers lie ahead, some predictable, others unimaginable.
Keep your loved ones tight. Pray. And vote for change.
Russia and China recently completed a joint military training exercise. Yes, many countries do this. But those two did.
It was reported that in June, a CCP paper suggested China could take Taiwan. I don’t read Chinese so I can’t confirm.
The part about folks not wanting to stand with us rings true. They know Biden will leave them behind when it is convenient to do so.
Europe had egg all over its face regarding the disastrous weekend in Afghanistan. They were relying on the WH to tell them things and they got caught with their pants down for doing so. They have been scrambling to get their people out. Boris and Angela are not happy with President Biden.
FYI, does anyone else feel like we’re living through the Carter administration again, but with a president who can’t form a coherent sentence?
Not at all. Admittedly, I don't have access to all the skeletons but I'd stake money on the claim that if you took all the collective fuckups of James, Jack, Donnel, and Amy and put them together into one person, you don't even get 10% of a Hunter Biden.
Yes, but Carter was just incompetent. Joe is demented and incompetent so who exactly is making any decision. It certainly is not Joe.
Thanks for the link. One thing caught me eye from the speech that I did not notice hearing it.
Biden referred to the conflict as a civil war. As if we became involved because it was a civil war, and not because one faction in that war had become an Islamist threat to our own peace.
If we cannot be honest with ourselves about what we were fighting (and not to single Joe out, none of them have been willing to say it) then what chance did we ever have to win anything?
"As of yesterday, we finally know what President Biden stands for – that decayed and degraded state that says let’s never take a risk for what we believe is right."
Anyone who has follow Joe Biden's political career has known that for a very long time.
Yea, that jumped out at me immediately.
Civil War?
Haven't given it much thought though
Let's hope we extricate the remaining Americans. Its seems very tenuous.
I think the threat of much pain and suffering limits opponents. Even if they have superior force. Let's face it the Taliban could have taken Afghanistan 2 years ago based on military force.
But with Trump in charge it would have been incredibly painful and if we reinforced impossible. So the Taliban was patient until the moment that they could move without suffering the pain or the possibility of defeat. The Biden in charge moment.
They saw him posturing about a politically motivated staged 9/11 pull out and they said screw that let's just go now. What is dementia Joe going to do? Well nothing which is what they expected.
China could have militarily taken Taiwan at any point since its existence. They will when they judge the pain is worth it. Is that time now?
They'll wait until we have a weak president who's not coherent enough to pay attention.
[Obligatory comment about 2 China's and Biden's ability to remember a list of 3 things.]
2 Chinas dammit.
He doesn't have to remember the list, he keeps it folded in his pocket and can pull it out during a news conference.
Which is why all his suits only have one pocket
The earpiece is only there so a handler can remind him which side of the suit the pocket is located.
At this point I think they plan on winning by default, no invasion required.
At least, no opposed invasion required.
“But with Trump in charge it would have been incredibly painful”
How so?
Trump would have opened “the briefcase,” removed a device and fired off a salvo of…mean tweets.
"This said, in the '80s, that was a very right-wing, conservative, puritanical movement, traditional censorship."
Yes, I remember well Dee Snyder's legendary confrontations with arch-conservative Tipper Gore.
Shhh... the narrative.
Sorry if already written, but this idea here:
Snyder also discusses the shift from censors from the right in the 1980s to today's censorship from the left.
I keep seeing this and it's bullshit. While it's true to some degree, back in the 80s censorship was bipartisan. Just ask Tipper Gore.
Arms ALL fully paid for TO arms manufacturers BY American taxpayers.
Such a deal! And you're welcome, Taliban. Our pleasure! We LOVE paying taxes.
He played Call of Duty on Xbox so that is adjacent to having served.
If he says he served and has not you can use that to form an opinion about credibility, but I'm sick of the idea that is quietly floated whereby the war/war-tangent opinions of people who served carry more weight than opinions of those who haven't. That is a horrible standard which should go away asap. That is all.
It's you're, not your:
YourYou're so fucking dumb. Which reason writer are you?Fucking idiot.
