COVID-19 Vaccination Rates Plummet Since Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Pause
Plus: Groups pressure Biden to fight "disinformation," Bill de Blasio promises July 1 reopening for NYC, and more...

After a strong start, the American rate of vaccinating against COVID-19 has been stalling. Some are blaming the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) decision to halt the use of Johnson & Johnson's vaccine after six recipients developed blood clots.
The number of Americans who received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine rose greatly from late December 2020 through around the middle of April 2021. But since then, the numbers have been dropping sharply.
"The vaccine program is in free fall—1st doses are down over 40% and falling," notes Daniel Bier of Freethink, pointing to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
What explains the drop? Some of it could just be that we've reached a tipping point. The vaccine's availability lagged behind the market of people who wanted it, but that market was always limited and now we're catching up.
But the FDA's "pause" of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine also seems to have played a role. For one thing, there were suddenly fewer vaccine doses available to distribute. More worryingly, the pause may have helped contribute to vaccine hesitancy.
Bier thinks "the decision to yank J&J's vaccine was the trigger. Daily vaccinations were rapidly growing for every demographic under 50, and stable for 50-64, until the FDA's 'pause,'" he tweeted, along with the following chart:
"What this shows is that people ages 18-49, who were rapidly increasing their vaccination rate, took a sudden lurch downward right at the time the J&J pause was announced," points out Kevin Drum, a political blogger. "Those from 50-64, who were holding steady, also took a big downward dip."
"The similar timing across age groups is easy to explain if it was the J&J pause (everyone saw the pause at the same time) but it requires multiple coincidences to explain why every age group would reach their hesitancy point at different levels of vaccination but at the same time," writes Alex Tabarrok, professor of economics at George Mason University.
Again, some of this represents a drop in vaccine supply once Johnson & Johnson doses were paused. But data also show that it isn't just Johnson & Johnson vaccine rates that are falling; Pfizer and Moderna rates have been declining, too. And rates have continued to fall after the FDA lifted the J&J pause on April 23.
Regardless, there's no doubt that "the vaccination program was mortally wounded on April 13," Bier notes.
Here's another chart—from covid19-projections.com, a website run by data scientist Youyang Gu using CDC data—that illustrates the drop:
The good news is that "more than half of adults in the United States have received at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose and the country has surpassed 200 million administered doses," as The New York Times notes.
But areas across the country have been seeing sharp drops in vaccination numbers recently.
"Everyone over age 16 can now get a free COVID-19 vaccine, but Oklahoma is reporting a sharp drop in the number of shots being administered," local station KTEN reported a week ago.
"Appointments for the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine have decreased by about 50% in Los Angeles County," the Los Angeles Times reports today.
In New Middletown, Ohio, "pharmacist Mark Johnson had 10 doses of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) shot left over at Village Pharmacy…before the vaccine was paused on April 13. But since reauthorization of the single-dose shot last week, the independent pharmacy has only been able to find three takers," notes Spectrum News 1.
"Louisiana has stopped asking the federal government for its full allotment of COVID-19 vaccine. About three-quarters of Kansas counties have turned down new shipments of the vaccine at least once over the past month. And in Mississippi, officials asked the federal government to ship vials in smaller packages so they don't go to waste," according to the Associated Press.
"Thousands of vaccine doses at Pennsylvania Convention Center set to expire amid drop in demand," reports ABC News. "Demand is down for COVID-19 vaccine in Indiana," says WNDU South Bend. "Idaho officials worry COVID vaccine hesitancy is rising," notes the Idaho State Journal, as ABC 7 warns that "Missouri vaccination numbers continue to drop with most of the population still unvaccinated." And headlines like these go on and on…

New York City sets a reopening goal. "On Thursday, Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city aims to fully reopen on July 1, allowing businesses, including restaurants, stores and nightclubs, to operate at full capacity," The New York Times reports. But New Yorkers shouldn't get too excited:
His promise was not a clear decree: The mayor has little authority to eliminate virus-related restrictions. But the penciled-in goal marks a symbolic shift for a city devastated by the pandemic.

MARKET FAIL
This was an 'own goal' by the Biden administration; pure and simple.
POTUS Trump correctly called out Biden's ill-considered action vis a vis J&J vaccine.
Biden has been the most forceful voice opposed to vaccinations humanly possible.
Ignore his WORDS. His ACTIONS scream loudly.

This drop seems to coincide with the spreading of the news that the vaccinated will be just as restricted as the unvaccinated.
exactly I was going to get it but now I questioning as to why bother since it clearly doesn't help otherwise we could all go forward
At most the J&J hit a brief pause and allowed people to take stock and reconsider their natural reluctance to shoving unknown toxic substances into body. Seriously, people avoid GMOs and vaccinated meat but are not gonna think twice about taking a direct dose?
If there was a direct causative effect it isn't that they paused it. It's that they paused it because a 1 in a million [maybe] and have shown how over-reactive they are. Birth control has a higher incidence of medical issues.
1] Jumping on the bandwagon just cuz is always done with when people take a breath.
2] Despite a few pockets, cases are down dramatically, particularly in looser states. Risk of exposure in my county is down 95% from the high, which statistically was pretty low anyway unless you were in a nursing home.
3] Under 50 is at almost no risk, so once you get your more compliant and panicked people out of the way, new vaccinations will drop off fast.
4] The media has let up because panic under Biden is just not acceptable. CNN isn't doing minute by minute number of deaths anymore.
5] Most people know at least one person who has gotten a lot sicker than they said you will from the vaccine and this is not acknowledged anywhere. More lack of transparency.
6] CDC and the administration say that taking the damn thing won't change anything, so... WTF!!!
7] People are doing math. Those who have had the first one are considered 85% protected against something that 90% of people have never gotten in over a year and are considered impossible to get seriously sick even if they did get it. Why the hell would they go get a second dose, likely feel like shit for a day or two, just to get maybe another 10% protected? That's like dropping $5 on the lotto for the long shot of making $5.25 payout.
This is equally as true for COVID-19 itself as it is for the vaccine. Your lifetime odds of dying in a traffic accident are 90 times higher than dying from COVID-19 if you are under 70 years old.
There must be people in India, where the bodies are stacking up, just shaking their heads and saying, “Fucking idiot Americans. Offered a free vaccination and turning it down.”
FREAK OUT!
Le freak, c'est Chic
Yup. Because healthy Americans that aren’t vaccinated will get covid and die. All of us.
Ken, can you explain to Chumby what a straw man fallacy is.
Ken, can you explain to this idiot what sarcasm is. Thanks.
Ken is the last guy to ask about getting humor or sarcasm.
No that’s you Dee.
He still thinks Jeff complaining solely about who the audit firm was instead of waiting for the report to complain about the Maricopa county audit wasn't an ad hominem attack. He is ignorant.
She’s a squawking bird.
Let it go, bro. Especially since you were wrong.
See. Youre an idiot. You still don't understand what an ad hominem argument is.
This is your new fire extinguisher.
Jeff didn't counter any actual data as the report has not been complete. He attacked who the auditors were to denounce the audit apriori. I'm sorry you are this fucking stupid.
Your argument deserves this level of response. Your argument was nonsensical.
Can you complain about Americans throwing away food next?
So you don’t care about starving children in Africa?
I don’t. That is why I support a socialist world government. Mao only had five years of the Great Leap Forward and that starved tens of millions to death. Just imagine this being applied worldwide. In a few decades we could starve the entire planet! And then there would be no more starving kids in Africa.
Lol.
Holy shit. You are this fucking dumb.
I wasn't even making an argument. I was making an observation about what people in India must think about Americans who have the opportunity to be vaccinated and say, "Nah!"
Because only you and Jeff think value signing is a worthwhile endeavor on a libertarian site.
Pretty certain I saw video of an Indian village running vaccination agents out of their village. It was pretty funny.
3rd world residents are the most vulnerable to being treated unethically as vaccination guinea pigs due to their highly limited recourse.
“It was pretty funny.”
You are an asshole.
Ken, can you explain to Chumby what a straw man fallacy is.
"Ignore the fact that I used an appeal to emotion, however."
The obvious may have escaped you, and JesseAz, but I wasn’t even making an argument. I was making an observation without any argument.
You whinged about a logical fallacy while indulging in your own, so don't mewl about it when someone points that out.
I thought it was more of an appeal to authority. But I was being sarcastic so it didn’t really matter what she thought because she missed the point.
So, actual arguments for getting vaccinated would be:
- it costs you nothing
- it is low-risk, low side effect
- it will keep you from getting ill, where there is some chance the illness will be miserable or deadly
- more importantly, it helps protect others
- more importantly, it decreases the chances of a new, deadly strain developing
- finally, it is an expression of gratitude toward the scientific geniuses who figured out how DNA works and how to harness it to prevent illness
It isn’t free.
There is also some chance the side effects of the vaccine will be miserable or deadly.
I’m in a low risk category so if I do contract it there is a high chance it will be mild and a very low chance it will be miserable or deadly.
I’m not sick. And wear a face mask at the request of others where appropriate.
So the vaccines do not protect against new strains?
I am thankful President Trump fast tracked the vaccine so that the vulnerable population could have access to a vaccine. Watson and Crick were fine chaps too.
It is free, and can you do literally any one thing for your country and fellow citizens? I know a piece of paper over your mouth was basically genocide, but do you think you could dig down deep, grab your balls, and make the slightest concession toward being a good american and member of your community?
Apparently, not. Not if there's a chance they would be doing something that would meet with approval from a liberal.
Bow down to your benevolent government. Please tell me more about liberty.
Who is arguing that here?
You are.
If I am getting approval from a liberal then I probably have done something wrong. I’m also not seeking approval from random people in India. If they are really concerned about me my suggestion would be for each of them to take action to improve their situation. They apparently have it bad right now. Where I live and work does not.
I don’t think you appreciate how lucky you are to be born where you were, and how little you have created the fortunate environment in which you found yourself.
You nailed it in your first three words. Should have stopped there.
The environment I’m in is trees and fields. Nature created it. And I am blessed.
First of all I was talking about living in a first world nation.
Second, maybe you meant meadow. Fields are man made.
Third, in most places you could be on earth those trees probably had some human involvement in their being there.
Sweetie, you really should have stopped at those three words.
How many billions have been spent by government dumbfuck? This is why you and wk are not libertarians. You don't even understand basic economics.
Of course, this is clearly not what DoL meant by “free”, but pretend like you don’t know that.
Do you seriously think DoL or I do not know that the government paid for the vaccines when we point out they are being handed out free of charge? You are disingenuous as hell and not interested in real discourse.
It is free, and can you do literally any one thing for your country and fellow citizens?
What the fuck have they ever done for me?
Wow, just wow.
Is that supposed to shame me or something?
I got a fever. And the only cure is more wowbell. I gotta have more wowbell.
Can you name the person or people I infected with covid? Thanks.
Well you’ve got me convinced now, comrade!
My co-worker just got his second shot of whatever he got and was out sick for the last 2 days. He also thinks he had COVID previously. Was it worth it?
Ask your co worker. It was very worth it for me and the other adults in my family. I haven’t met anyone who regrets it.
1) He can't get sick again and pass it on if he already had it. Vaccinating the immune is pointless.
2) I didn't ask about regrets. I asked if it was worth it. This guy lost 16 hours of productivity. If just 10% of 200,000,000 people miss work, you are talking about billions of hours of lost productivity. I realize that it is dwarfed by the trillions of lost hours from the shutdowns, but that doesn't make the cost any less real.
Getting vaccinated after having the disease is a pointless exercise in virtue signalling.
We have no idea of long term risks or side effects. My mother got the vaccine and almost needed to be hospitalized from the side effects.
I’ve already had it, and so did my wife. We both had minor symptoms. We didn’t actually get the test at the time, we just stayed home for a couple weeks just to be safe (we were both working from home at the time anyway). I went and got the antibody test a month later when our grocery store started offering it for $25.
Everyone we spend time with who is high risk has gotten the vaccine.
“ – finally, it is an expression of gratitude toward the scientific geniuses who figured out how DNA works and how to harness it to prevent illness”
Seriously?
My wife and I both had covid, not the vaccine.
"We have no idea of long term risks or side effects."
Yes, "we" do. The fact that you guys don't know how things work out in the world of complex and scientific ventures does not mean no one has that knowledge.
It's very telling that most of the disagreements I have with cultists is over matters of fact. Choosing to live in an information bubble that makes keeping your preferred opinions easy is intellectual cowardice. If it wasn't for arguments from ignorance, you all would have nothing to say.
And just to show you how easy it is to be less ignorant than you currently are, here is a 2 minute read that would have made you at least 200% better informed than when you decided to spout off with opinions spoon fed to you from political sources.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/ellenmatloff/2020/12/18/what-are-the-long-term-safety-risks-of-the-pfizer-and-moderna-covid-19-vaccines/?sh=3e683bc868f3
"This is not the first time that an mRNA vaccine has been used in humans. The first human trial of an mRNA vaccine began in 2009 in a small group of patients who had prostate cancer. Overall, that mRNA vaccine was well tolerated and had a good safety profile. In 2013 a clinical trial began of an mRNA rabies vaccine in healthy human adults. This rabies trial was important because the safety requirements for a vaccine in a healthy population are more stringent than those for a vaccine being used to treat a disease. The study ran from 2013-2016, and continues to collect long-term safety data. But overall, this vaccine was deemed generally safe and tolerable. mRNA vaccines are now in use in clinical trials for HIV, the Zika virus, and influenza."
50 years ago, the thing that will be remembered about this pandemic is that this miracle of medical science, mRNA vaccines, got their first widespread use.
Hey, the idiot thinks every mRNA vaccine operates the exact same way. Cool. What other drugs do you make this same assumption about?
Yes, “we” do. The fact that you guys don’t know how things work out in the world of complex and scientific ventures does not mean no one has that knowledge.
No, "we" don't. It didn't even go through a full clinical trial before being released. The full clinical trial is going on *right now.*
The study ran from 2013-2016, and continues to collect long-term safety data. But overall, this vaccine was deemed generally safe and tolerable.
Three years is a hell of a lot longer of study period than, what, 7 months, if that?
Choosing to live in an information bubble that makes keeping your preferred opinions easy is intellectual cowardice.
Exercising caution over an experimental vaccine is not cowardice, no matter how badly you want to frame it as such.
1) These never went under full clinical trials, as I stated previously.
2) The drug companies were given immunity from liability if things went sideways. Why should that even be necessary?
3) I've seen no guarantees as of yet that all this shit stops when vaccinations reach a certain point. If I have to continue wearing a mask after getting a shot, what's the fucking point?
– more importantly, it decreases the chances of a new, deadly strain developing
Does it? I don't know, but I have heard suggestions that since the vaccine doesn't completely eliminate infections, it could potentially have the effect of encouraging new strains resistant to the vaccines to develop. I hope that isn't true, but it seems plausible.
I’ve heard that possibility as well, including the possibility that the vaccine resistant strains could be very nasty as well.
Yet you are cool with the risk of people going unvaccinated, and the strains that may arise in populations that go unvaccinated.
Yup. And strains may arise in the vaccinated populations that are far deadlier and even more contagious. Possibly strains that cannot be detected by the scientific geniuses. You could be carrying one of those strains right now.
What would be the mechanism that would cause a strain to arise in vaccinated population that wouldn't have arisen in an un-vaccinated population? Keep in mind that all the vaccine does is stimulate your own natural immune response.
Mutations in the gene for the proteins that the vaccine targets could be selected for in people who have been vaccinated.
So, a coronavirus mutated so that it produces a different protein spike or pattern than the one the vaccine introduces to the patient’s body. Then the vaccine is having a null effect on that scenario, no?
One that the scientific geniuses haven’t figured out yet of course.
This idea of “vaccine pressure” makes no sense. See comments below.
Googling yielded one link to “vaccine pressure”:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11030058/
Note this quote from the abstract: “However, evidence for a causal relation is lacking.”
The vaccines are stimulating your body’s natural immune reactions, so it can only be a net plus over nature alone.
You're not a science type it seems. You just make random assertions that seem plausible and present it as truth. Like bear spray and fire extinguishers.
If you want to educate yourself, read the Red Queen Theory of Evolution, Selfish Gene, or other evolutionary biology books.
Do they have a coloring book version? Or maybe something animated with Duplo blocks? Dee is not the sharpest pair of safety scissors in the drawer.
"Like bear spray and fire extinguishers."
What in the world does that have to do with science? I did believe reported stories that turned out to be factually incorrect, and I admit that, but they were not "science" stories.
OK, you are so smart. Explain to me, because I'm so dumb: how are the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines doing anything other than stimulating your body's natural immune reactions?
I told you were to start. You don't have basic understanding. So go read a book.
Cop out.
The vaccines are stimulating your body’s natural immune reactions, so it can only be
a net plus over nature aloneexactly what your body does naturally does when it gets infected.No. The entire idea of a vaccine is that it stimulates your body's natural immune reaction with a substance that has much lower risk of harming you or killing you than the disease being vaccinated against.
Yes, and what you're left with is your body's natural immune response.
Well, that's not necessarily true. Many attempts at making coronavirus vaccines in the past were disasters because they actually made for more severe illness when someone who had taken the vaccine got infected because the immune response was too strong. That doesn't seem to be a problem with these vaccines, which is great. But these things have still been in existence for much less than a year. It is not out of the question that some problem might crop up.
https://reason.com/2014/07/15/will-false-rationality-stop-progress/
"While working on a chapter dealing with the precautionary principle for a new book, I came across a superb essay in The Freeman from economics Nobelist Friedrich Hayek, The Case for Freedom. Taken from his The Constitution of Liberty (1960), Hayek explained how progress is only possible if people are free to engage in a process of trial-and-error. In fact, we advance most by learning from our errors. What worries me is that strong version of the precautionary principle endorsed by so many progressives permits only trials without errors."
Not sure how you think that pertains to what I'm saying. I'm not suggesting the vaccines should be pulled or that anyone should be discouraged from getting one if they want to.
I was simply responding to your apparent claim that vaccines can only be an improvement on natural immunity.
Not vaccines in general. Specifically, the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA based vaccines for SARS-CoV-2.
Let's not forget we have people like Alma Hernandez, who did ALL the coof rituals, got fully vaccinated--and still caught COVID anyway.
Many attempts at making coronavirus vaccines in the past were disasters because they actually made for more severe illness when someone who had taken the vaccine got infected because the immune response was too strong.
This is utter horseshit. No vaccine has made a coronavirus 'stronger' or triggered an overly active immune response in enough people to change a vaccine development timeline. The fact that this shit is being thrown around for coronavirus indicates that there is some anti-vaxxer propagandist at work. Because the virus where this scenario kind of played out was a very very early MEASLES vaccine in the early 1960's. Since measles vaccines are anti-vaxxer territory, those groups are just doing what they do - lying - replacing
measleswith coronavirus and pretending that it's all the same thing.– it costs you nothing
Yet... you've said making people wait in line to get a free government ID is a cost.
– it is low-risk, low side effect
Only short term effects are currently known.
– it will keep you from getting ill, where there is some chance the illness will be miserable or deadly
Pure idiotic fear mongering. Driving above 15mph also increases your risk of death from automobile accidents. Advocate that next.
– more importantly, it helps protect others
Not really.
– more importantly, it decreases the chances of a new, deadly strain developing
Completely wrong.
– finally, it is an expression of gratitude toward the scientific geniuses who figured out how DNA works and how to harness it to prevent illness
Value signal to your benevolent government masters.
"Yet… you’ve said making people wait in line to get a free government ID is a cost."
I have? Where? Cite?
"Only short term effects are currently known."
It is VERY unlikely a substance that has a very short shelf life without refrigeration, and is flushed out of your body soon after being injected, can have anything other than short-term effects, other than the intended affect of stimulating immune response.
Youre helpless. I really mean this. You push your ignorant assumptions based on nothing as facts.
"Only short term effects are currently known."
And yet you don't care on whit about the possible long-term effects of being infected with SARS-CoV-2.
Cite?
"Completely wrong."
Explain please, Mr. Science.
4 posts when you could have just said you're ignorant.
So, you got nuthin'. You are just bluffing.

What does appreciating the hard work and genius of scientific researchers working at private companies have to do with "government masters"?

The good news is that "more than half of adults in the United States have received at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose and the country has surpassed 200 million administered doses..."
Not to mention (ever, apparently) those who have natural immunity through infection.
Natural immunity doesnt make the Pharm cos any money.
Or give the pols any credit. In fact, natural immunity contradicts the "only way to survive is lockdown" dogma.
Indications are that natural immunity is weaker than two dose vaccination based on serum convalescent plasma vs those who have been vaccinated. It is also expected that immune response varies depending on severity of infection.
Also about half of those who have previously been infected have had the vaccine. We also know that confirmed cases are less than actual cases as many people don’t get tested. One study has shown that antibody levels increased tenfold in those getting one dose who were previously infected so perhaps that would be a strategy.
So it is difficult to say. In any case there is no magic number. The thing to track is number of new cases per day. The number of vaccines is something you can also measure while natural immunity, while it exists, is not easy to measure.
So we outsmarted millions of years of evolution in a few months?
Who knew Trump was so good?
We have been outsmarting Mother Nature since we were cave dwellers.
Dumbest statement humanly possible
Wow, just wow.
You think millions of years of evolution is Mother Nature?
Explain your comment? My best guess is you are about to start an argument that evolution was guided by the hand of God, but I’m not sure if that’s where you are going.
That's because you're utterly and completely fucking retarded.
This is the part where the CACLLs here will pretend that R Mac’s comment was clearly communicating his point, and try to gaslight me into thinking I missed the point.
It won’t work. I’m not insecure about my intelligence.
Most people who are as dumb as fucking rocks are completely secure about their intelligence. You have to have a baseline level of cognizance to have enough self-awareness to recognize your own ignorance. To be fair, most people over the age of about 10 have that capacity, but you've proven time and again that you are most assuredly not among them.
Hey by the way, I coined an acronym for you and your 12 socks. RETAREDFAGGOT. See if you can figure out what it stands for.
Lol. Poor Dee, you gaslight yourself.
I'm not shocked the self admitted troll is once again trolling.
Lol. You’re so fucking stupid.
OK, Tomeka. Let’s say I’m super dumb. Explain R Mac’s comment about “Mother Nature” not being a suitable synonym for me to use when talking about evolution.
You are super smart and understood what he meant, right? Explain what he meant.
What did cavemen know about evolution, Dee?
Cave people. And Person Nature.
Of course it is. Evolution is a natural process. I am using an idiom but humans did not just find stone tools and spears lying around. We used our brains to find better ways of killing animals for food, defense and clothing.
In the same sense we used our brains to create a superior tool to fight off a disease.
The best argument with the government is that they should be saying “look we provided all of these vaccines and everyone can get one now. That is all we can do so no more mandates. The rest is up to you.”
That course of action would actually make sense, Echospinner. That is why government bureau-critters will never, ever do it.
Yet, so far that IS all they have done.
So I can go to the DMV without wearing a mask and standing 40 feet from others and talking to the clerk through a plexiglass partition? God you're a stupid piece of shit. The entire world will celebrate when you die. Hope it's really lingering and painful, but makes you unable to speak or type.
We were taking about vaccinations specifically, and you are bringing up a bunch of tangents.
No, you stupid fucking cunt, you said that all the government has done is to say: “look we provided all of these vaccines and everyone can get one now. That is all we can do so no more mandates. The rest is up to you.”
That is demonstrably not all that the government has done. The government has locked down society, put millions of people out of work, caused a triple digit uptick in suicides, alcoholism, drug addiction, and overdose deaths, and mandated that people wear ineffective cloth diapers on their face as a demonstration of their subservience. Since you're a bootlicking faggot cocksucker you're 100% in favor of those things and have vociferously argued in their favor for the last year and a half. So don't pretend they never happened. Own it, you pathetic little groveling Nazi bitch.
Echospinner’s comment had this thing called “context”.
“Since you’re a bootlicking faggot cocksucker you’re 100% in favor of those things and have vociferously argued in their favor for the last year and a half.”
I have? Where? Cite?
Yeah, at some point you need to say "we've done what we can, now get on with it". But too many people have developed the expectation that the risk must be eliminated completely, which was never going to happen. Which is one of the worst outcomes of all this, if you ask me. The expectation that government can and should try to save everyone from everything.
So, to make that point, you are going to turn down this wonderful gift of science.
Yes, accept the wonderful gift of government-mandated experimental vaccines. Worked great for black and latino babies in LA in 1996 you bootlicking fucking piece of shit.
First of all, it’s not government mandated. You are just making that up.
No, you lying piece of shit cunt, I am not. Tell the people who cannot sit for the bar exam, or attend university, or enter a government building, or obtain a government job or clearance unless they take an experimental vaccine that has only been granted emergency use authorization by the FDA that it's not government-mandated you mendacious bootlicking piece of shit.
I think Dee got Covid and it made her dumber.
The NRLB literally stated that government and private entities can mandate the vaccines for employment.
Do you even try to educate yourself WK?
"can mandate"
So, the government is saying that private employers can make rules about who they want to hire, without interference from the government. That sounds downright ... libertarian.
So, the government is saying that private employers can make rules about who they want to hire, without interference from the government.
Oh? Did the Civil Rights Act get repealed?
No, probably not. I do want to see how it goes for a while longer, though.
That’s reasonable.
No, probably not. I do want to see how it goes for a while longer, though.
Exactly where I am.
You do realize that the main mechanism of natural evolution is MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF DEATH of organisms that were not adapted to their environment. Nature is cruel.
Brilliant scientists, much smarter than anyone in this commentariat, have figured out how to use mRNA to make highly targeted, effective vaccines, and us rubes are like, “No, thanks.”
They are the same group that developed thalidomide.
They quite literally are not the same group of people.
So, are you a Luddite anti-technologist or something?
"Can you believe these stupid niggers in Tuskegee would reject the beneficence of their loving government!"
Fuck yourself blind you Nazi piece of shit.
Dumbass. I never said it was the same exact people.
Wow, this is pathetic even for you WK.
Next you'll be claiming communism and socialism will work this time because hey, it isn't literally the exact same group of people.
She’s flailing worse than normal today. This vaccine issue has really given her the vapors.
Brilliant scientists, much smarter than anyone in this commentariat
I happen to know some biochemists who work in vaccine development. Smart people, sure, but they're not superhumans.
They can’t jump tall buildings and stuff like that? I’m disappointed to learn that. 🙂
They're also a little bit skeptical of the new vaccines.
Dee thinks The Science is settled and anyone who disagrees with it is stupid.
Do you know what an appeal to authority is?
These same brilliant scientist lead to this:
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/26/why-peanut-food-allergies-have-become-almost-epidemic.html
They are the same ones who decided carbs were the main dietary plank of the american diet.
Scientists are wrong often. You are welcome to keep worshiping them blindly if you choose. But saying crap like you just did is idiotic bootlicking.
Surprise! A lefty that doesn't understand basic science.
The main mechanism of evolution is mutation. So it is a direct result of reproduction, not death.
Oh, boy. Do you want to take that idiotic statement back?
The mutations only cause evolution because the organisms are being tested against their environment. Quite often the price of failure to adapt to the environment is death. Death and failure is one of the main mechanism of evolution.
That's quite the opposite of your original brainless statement that death is the primary mechanism of evolution. Of course when your IQ in the low double digits, "science" seems like magic.
Fair point: I shouldn’t have said “main mechanism”. The main mechanism is mutation combined with whether an organism manages to reproduce or not. The important thing is whether you die before reproducing or fail to reproduce for other reasons.
I should have said “major mechanism”.
You were wrong as usual. Death is not the major mechanism. Time and mutations are the major mechanisms.
You are so damn ignorant of everything.
Wrong. Time is not a major mechanism. The sequence of mutation, new stress factor in the environment, adaptation can happen on a very short time scale. That's the whole point of talking about the observed evolution of peppered moths.
Wow.. Another H02 moment.
Mutations happen naturally in even the lifespan of a single entity. Death does not trigger mutations. Death can be determined at higher rates based upon certain genetic mutations, but the mutations happen each time a new entity is born, not died.
You really are an idiot.
Some days Dee annoys me. Days like today: awesome. She’s really cracking me up. Maybe Tulpa is stealing her handle today.
You are out of your depth, proven by how you missed my point. Where did I ever say death triggers mutations?
I was talking about death as a price of NOT having the mutation that turns out to be beneficial within a particular environment.
Death and failure is one of the main mechanism of evolution.
Land creatures don't exist because all the fish died. They exist because of mutations in fish that allowed some to survive through droughts being passed on to their descendants. Evolved isn't always better, it's different.
I am starting to see where you Progressives go bad. You think that killing off the weak gives the strong a better chance. Those of us who are more enlightened understand that the strong will survive regardless.
An army of eugenics.
main mechanism of natural evolution is MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF DEATH
Not it isn't.
Last time we outsmarted mother nature the incidence of deadly peanut allergies exploded.
Based on reinfection rates vs. vaccinated infection rates, it appears that prior infection is more effective than vaccination, and by several orders of magnitude. There must be something other than antibodies in play, perhaps the T-Cell immunity that we've avoided discussing and studying in this country. Of course, we have no long-term results to observe, but at least in the short-term, prior infection is more effective. It is also important to note that in both cases, serious illness and/or hospitalization is effectively zero for both groups.
"It is also important to note that in both cases, serious illness and/or hospitalization is effectively zero for both groups."
That's not how you, "DOOM!!!," Sir.
That is true. It is a combination of T cells and B memory cells. So it is possible that both groups will have long term immunity.
I don’t think anyone is avoiding discussion it is just too soon to make any conclusions. Really we are going to have to look at real world results over years. There is also the possibility of mutations overcoming either defense.
I have seen a paper from Israel just measuring antibodies which showed a single dose after infection giving a very high antibody response. So there is reason to think that a single booster dose to someone who has been infected is a good idea.
“I don’t think anyone is avoiding discussion it is just too soon to make any conclusions.”
No, Dee seems pretty convinced about her conclusions, and thinks anyone who hasn’t gotten the vaccine should be embarrassed by how people in India think about us.
Like I said above, people in India must think Americans are the most spoiled, idiotic dumbshits on the planet.
Seems like that's true of a lot of countries. (No comment on whether it is an accurate perception or not)
Making decisions regarding your health based on how someone in India might think about you is one of the dumber takes you’ve ever had, Dee. And that’s saying a lot.
To be fair, everyone in the world including sub-Sarahan Africans with an average IQ around 80 must think of you as the most idiotic cunt on the planet.
I'll gladly send my vaccine to India. Or is government still not allowing that?
^
Dee doesn’t seem to see the contradiction in blindly following the words of people that say to take the vaccine, even though those same people stopped everyone from taking one of the vaccines for several days because of blood clotting concerns, and also wouldn’t allow us to send those vaccines to India.
Value signaling is simply value signaling despite your rationalization. What a person in india thinks doesn't matter one iota on my personal decisions.
What about Pakistan? And the Faroe Islands? As well as Ecuador?
This is factually incorrect. There have been 57 GLOBALLY confirmed, reported cases of reinfection after an initial infection. In contrast, there have been 5800+ confirmed cases of infection after full vaccination. Therefore, naturally acquired immunity appears far superior to vaccine induced immunity, at least in terms of efficacy.
Los Angeles is strongly Democrat, has a sharp fall in vaccinations, yet CNN and MSNBC blame the alt-right and Trumpers as being those who refuse vaccinations. Those refusing are mainly those who believe the government - FDA - and mainstream media scaremongers, mostly Latinos and Blacks in LA.
You create the problem, then blame 'the usual suspects.'
Those groups, for some strange reason, tend to be distrustful of the government.
Gee I can't imagine why
Los Angeles is majority Democratic with a large conservative minority.
Cite?
I’ll see if I can dig one up.
I was born in Los Angeles and loved there for thirty years, and still have lots of family there. I know Los Angeles very well.
How about you?
Waiting for your cite.
Hey, whoa now! It’s not “those people” that WKs enlightened Indian population are scornful of!
Seriously, every liberal ever just ‘expects’ white people to know better than the sainted POC who are doing the same thing.
And then they call other white people racist. It’s really funny to see!
the vaccination program was mortally wounded on April 13. If we don’t manage to revive it, we could miss the herd immunity threshold.
The new Forever War -- against "the Virus".
The administration is already saying this is a year circus.

If by circus you mean a new state-supported religious pageant.
Well, they're certainly supplying the clowns.
PT Barnum once quipped,”There’s a woke Karen born every minute.”
Everyone over age 16 can now get a free COVID-19 vaccine, but Oklahoma is reporting a sharp drop in the number of shots being administered...
Who knew that nagging and scolding could reach a point of diminishing returns.
Just need better top nags and scolds in office, this time it will work.
Moar money needed for marketing!
Just tell the kids they can't have the vaccine.
That used to work, but too many Americans have opted for reflexive obedience these days.
You need look no further than the idiotic argument that vaccines confer greater immunity than natural response for an example.
A coalition of groups is calling on President Biden to create a task force that can explore ways to crack down on deliberate disinformation campaigns in ways that don't unduly limit free expression.
Ha, I wonder what their expectations are for the word unduly there.
Darn your quick fingers! 😎
It was the obvious point of interest. I would be disappointed in you if you didn't zero in on it.
Oh, there are plenty of groups - many of them supportive of Biden - who are quite willing to limit free expression, in unduly fashion or otherwise.
Along as he does it through coordination with private industry... something something.
Unduly: not the desired election outcome.
Exact same thought, it would be interesting to see the list of free speech that they think can be duly limited and then use it as the reasons to fire them and their boss.
"Groups pressure Biden to fight 'disinformation'"
Good. Although Russia thankfully failed to hack the 2020 election like they did in 2016, they certainly tried. The "Hunter Biden laptop" story was, you'll recall, a Russian disinformation operation. Numerous national security professionals confirmed this.
#LibertariansAgainstRussianDisinformation
Careful, OBL, under proper speech control, satire will be illegal.
Yes, but since leftists aren't very bright, would they recognize this as satire?
The Washington Post is trying to track him down. So they can hire him as an editoria...news reporter.
crack down on deliberate disinformation campaigns in ways that don't unduly limit free expression.
"Unduly"? WTF? "Very well. You are free to express your obvious disinformation ... in CRAYON!"
Unduly is doing a lot more work than any task force ever would.
The mayor has little authority to eliminate virus-related restrictions.
Those that don't directly answer to voters have all the power? Who would have thought.
Well, the one in a million J&J event (which occurs 5 in a million among the general population) pause just confirmed out loud that the CDC has no idea what it is doing from a medical perspective, and is operating in 'full political' mode.

Ugh. The "warmonger" slur in a story about Hillary Clinton? That's a discredited Tulsi Gabbard talking point.

That's OK.
I'll get with Tulsi.
The FDA is now officially moving to ban menthol cigarettes.
You pine for a paternalistic state, you find yourself in a paternalistic state.
Paying taxes causes stress. This could lead to heart attacks and suicides. Studies show...experts claim. Clearly, obviously taxes need to be eliminated to save lives.
Beautiful.

The FDA is working toward issuing proposed product standards within the next year to ban menthol as a characterizing flavor in cigarettes and ban all characterizing flavors (including menthol) in cigars
Cool! Now do candy and ice cream. That shit is also killing people.
So is the food pyramid.
I can't wait for candy and ice cream without flavors.
Jesus, ladies. Diversify your portfolio. Apparently too much of it is invested in war stock.
Its not all about money, they also want to send young conservative men to their death.
Gotta thin out the Deplorables.
Hillary doesn't want us to leave until Afghani women are guaranteed the equal right to stone people to death.
The drop in vaccination rates probably has nothing to do with the fact that our current Top Men say, even after vaccination, you still have to adhere to all the same nonsense as unvaccinated people, so people really don't see the point in getting it.
That's just silly. Everyone knows people can't think that much.
Nothing in the Roundup about Rudy the Rat?!

...Spotlight PA last year found Pennsylvania State Police often used a wide range of what is known as pretextual stops — pulling people over for driving in the center or right lanes for too long, or having an unlit license plate — to stop drivers and then question them," PennLive.com reports.
No shit. Although I actually support enforcing the left lane rule, which I've yet to see them do (textually or pretextually).
Left lane speed checkers... the original Karen's.
Confused by this. You’re supposed to stay in the right lane. Is that different in Pennsylvania?
We supposedly have a Slow Poke law in Davidson County in TN (might be the whole state) that makes it illegal to impede traffic by driving in the left lane. They were trying to cut back on road rage cases but I have never heard it enforced.
Slow pokes in the left lane are certainly enraging
Damn skippy.
Correct, which would mean they pull people over for driving to long in the left lane. The above says the right lane.
I wonder if that was supposed to say "driving in the center or left lanes for too long" in the original article, as driving in the right lane is what you are supposed to do to help increase the flow of traffic.
A certain percentage of people are not going to get vaccinated regardless. Labeled "vaccine hesitancy" this can range from "I don't trust it" to "I don't care, "you can't make me" or "what vaccine?" Regardless, if there is a magic number at which point we achieve a reasonable [never absolute] level of "herd immunity"; a review of various [and supposedly reliable: Mayo Clinic, American Association of Medical Colleges, etc.] indicates a consensus of not less than 70%, or about 230 million out of 330 million. Given the current estimate [about 50%] and that we have come up against the anticipated vaccine "wall," I have a feeling this is going to be around for a while yet.

No one can make you take the vaccine. Take your chances and suit yourself. But I will tell you it does, for seemingly random reasons, kill people who are otherwise healthy.
Personally I just want it the fuck gone, and all of the theater that has attended it.
We'll see if I do later on, but for now I am squarely in the fuck you liars camp. I'll take my chances for now just like I do everyday driving to work which is probably more dangerous based on my age and health.
No one can make you take the vaccine.
My employer is, in fact, going to make me take the vaccine.

My employer said he can’t require it, but he would if he could.
Different industries and states must have different rules. Or my employer just doesn’t know the rules, but I doubt it.
It is an experimental vaccine, untested for evil side effects on fertile women, or on children. It has not been really approved because there have been no studies of long term effects. Requiring it as a condition of employment is probably a violation of several federal laws not officially suspended by the Communist Chinese Virus panic diktats. Get it in writing, get a lawyer, and sue because of a 'hostile work environment'. Or just request they sign an agreement to accept full and unlimited liability for any future health issues remotely connected to the untested, "emergency use only" virus.
Roughly 100 million people already got the bug. There's no reason for them to need a shot.
I’ve been told that something that was cobbled together in a couple of months works better than what millions of years of evolution can do. Makes you wonder how humans ever survived anything .
We are going to survive much better with this amazing new medical technology of mRNA based vaccines. Humans have always used technology to survive; it’s what defines us.

Democrats Must Stop Sacrificing Good American Nuclear Jobs For Cheap Chinese Solar Panels
China made solar panels cheap through coerced labor, not innovation.

The Biden Administration is promoting the participation of Chinese President Xi Jinping in a White House climate summit at a time when Congress is considering whether or not to halt the import of solar panels from China for human rights reasons.
“China’s Solar Dominance Presents Biden With an Ugly Dilemma,” read the headline of a New York Times article published yesterday. “President Biden’s vow to work with China on issues like climate change is clashing with his promise to defend human rights.”
The U.S. State Department in January 2021 called the Chinese government treatment of the Uyghurs “genocide.” The State Department says one million Uyghurs have been forced into concentration camps in Xinjiang province, or forced to work in factories, including ones that make solar panels, one of the region’s largest industries. “Shinta energy, East Hope Group, and GCL Poly-Energy Holdings have all been linked to a state-run employment program that,” reported Bloomberg earlier this week, “at times amount to forced labor.” ...

Just a quick reminder that the Paris Climate Accords classify China and India as "developing nations," despite the fact they've had first-world economies for decades and some of the worst pollution on the planet.
Not to mention they are two of the oldest nations on the planet.
India has only been independent since 1947.
The PRC was founded in 1949.

In France this week, 20 retired military generals, 80 officers, and 1,000 lower-ranking soldiers signed an open letter expressing concern over “mortal dangers” they say face the Republic. President Macron’s government has instructed the army chief of staff to discipline the signatories for inciting insurrection.
Mister President,
Members of the Cabinet,
Members of Parliament,
The hour is late, France is in peril, threatened by several mortal dangers. Though retired, we remain soldiers of France, and cannot, under the present circumstances, remain indifferent to the fate of our beautiful country.
Our tricolor flags are not simply a piece of fabric; they are a symbol of tradition—the tradition of those who, throughout the ages, whatever the color of their skin or their religion, served France and gave their lives for her. On these flags, in golden letters, is inscribed the motto, “Honor and Fatherland.” Today, our honor rests on denouncing the crumbling-apart of our fatherland.
Crumbling-apart through a certain kind of anti-racism, which has an explicit goal: to sow malaise on our soil, up to and including hate between communities. Today, some speak of racialism, of indigenism, and of anti-colonial theories, but with these words, those hateful and fanatical partisans seek to foment a racial war. They despise our country, her traditions, her culture, and want to watch her dissolve by tearing her away from her past and her history. Thus, by attacking statues and analyzing words from several centuries ago, their true goal is to undermine our ancient civil and military glories.
Crumbling-apart through Islamism and the hordes from the Banlieues. Several patches of our nation have been detached and turned into territories put under submission to dogmas contrary to our Constitution. Every Frenchman, regardless of belief or non-belief, must be everywhere at home in France; there cannot and must not exist any city, any neighborhood, where the laws of the Republic do not have writ.
Crumbling-apart, when hate replaces fraternity during protests, when the regime uses police as jackboots and scapegoats, against yellow-vest-wearing compatriots who seek only to express their hopelessness. This even though ski-mask-wearing individuals infiltrate those protests, destroy businesses, and threaten the police. And yet, the police only follow the sometimes-contradictory policies set out by you, holders of political office.
The peril rises, violence increases every day. Who could have predicted, ten years ago, that a teacher could one day have his head cut off as he left his middle school? As servants of the Nation, who have always been ready to pay the ultimate price for our service, we cannot remain passive spectators of such actions.
Therefore, the leaders of our country must absolutely find the courage required to eradicate those dangers. To do so, it is often necessary only to apply existing laws without weakness. Do not forget that, like us, a great majority of our fellow citizens is incensed by your cowardice and your guilty silences.
As Cardinal Mercier, Primate of Belgium, once said: “When prudence is everywhere, courage is nowhere.” Ladies and Gentlemen, stop equivocating—the hour is late, the work ahead is immense. Do not lose time, and know that we are ready to support political leaders who would undertake the rescue of the Nation.
However, if nothing is done, heedlessness will continue to spread its poison throughout society, inexorably. In the end, there will be an explosion, and our comrades in active military service will be forced to step in and undertake the perilous mission of protecting our civilizational values and the lives of our fellow citizens.
It is easy to see that the time for hesitation is over. Otherwise, tomorrow, civil war will put an end to this growing chaos, and there will be thousands of deaths, of which you will bear responsibility.
France planning to allow use of algorithms to detect extremism online
Macron under pressure to harden terrorism laws amid growing row over security in run-up to election

All polls currently show that the far-right Le Pen would make it to a final round runoff against Macron in the 2022 presidential election and increase her vote. With no clear candidate on the mainstream right and the left divided, Le Pen is increasingly attacking Macron on security, terrorism and immigration. An Ifop poll this weekend for the Journal du Dimanche found 86% of people think security issues will play an important part in their vote in 2022.

You’ve got to hand it to France. Not only did they pointlessly and uselessly mandate masks repeatedly, but they recently locked the country down for a third time after cases had already peaked.
It’s just a clinic of ineffective, panicked science following that doesn’t work.
French women don’t shave their balls.
The mask wear society of Japan that we were all supposed to mimic, is in lockdowns and going through a “third wave”.

And not a very big one in terms of death.
They are way behind in vaccines
I guess that would explain Macron's recent shift on blaming Critical Race Theory from America as a leading cause of social strife in France, despite the fact that most of the philosophical foundation for it comes from French intellectuals.
Projection is what the Left does best, after all.
We're going to have a really bad time with that kind of culturally Marxist thinking in the recently college-educated generation. From those I interact with, the tenets of CRT are simply taken as true, with ironically, no deconstruction of its underlying ideology allowed.
It results in more than a little self-hatred. Internalizing the concept of cultural Original Sin, only without any means for redemption beyond gimme all of your stuff.
We can't get along with these people.
It results in more than a little self-hatred. Internalizing the concept of cultural Original Sin, only without any means for redemption beyond gimme all of your stuff.
It's definitely a form of secular religion, which probably shouldn't be too much of a surprise for a generation that tends to not adhere to any religious belief. The need for spiritual fulfillment is a feature of human society going back to the Stone Age, and nature abhors a vacuum.
It's particularly notable that the CRT pimps and "fellow white people" types are promoting white skin as the equivalent of the Mark of Cain.
True, which is one of the reasons the 4Chan jape was so funny, about the Romans being gobsmacked about people worshipping a Jew on a stick.
It just strikes me that a lot of the CRT types think that Western Civilization was inherently Evil; born Evil at the expense of a bunch of non-Europeans who didn't organize, and as such, must be cleansed by dealing with those original wrongs. Either by completely ripping the society down (rebuilding it seems to be optional) or by massive tithing and purchasing indulgences. Probably both.
Which is great, if you're an opposing society trying to get the capitalist West to shiver apart and stop being able to compete with you. Bad if you live in America and want to live according to the ideals of the Founders.
My point was---and I apologize in advance for the Captain Obvious suit I'm wearing---it's increasing. It's out of Academia, and a large chunk of this latest generation, working, voting, and interacting with the real world, has so totally internalized the ideals of it, they don't recognize when you point out its parallels.
It's Dark Age, tribalist behavior, and it's coming from a group of people who, if you asked them, would pride themselves on their sensitivity and secular humanism
despite the fact that most of the philosophical foundation for it comes from French intellectuals.
In fairness, though, those French intellectuals largely left France and came to the US because the actual French weren't terribly interested in what they were selling.
Good point.
Wow....That is an amazing fucking letter.
Where are the people will balls here in the US to write the same one?
Consider military leaders there versus military leaders here, XY. The US's are too busy cracking on Tucker Carlson for daring to suggest that adding women and the transgendered to combat arms, may not be an unalloyed good.

https://www.revolver.news/2021/04/cnn-sicknick-bear-spray-fake-news-julian-khater-george-tanios/
The latest thread to unravel is the entire “bear spray” narrative. This past Tuesday, 27 days after Revolver News first identified using digital forensics that the New York Times had committed fraud about a “bear spray” attack, our Regime Media has finally admitted what our investigative team definitively proved from the start: no bear spray was actually deployed in the fake “bombshell” New York Times videos from March 24:
Washington (CNN) — The Justice Department on Tuesday abandoned the idea that pro-Trump rioters had used bear spray against US Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick during the January 6 riot, a major change after implying for weeks that bear spray, not pepper spray, had been deployed.
Prosecutors addressed the seemingly small but significant difference at a detention hearing for the two men charged in connection with the chemical attack. All sides now acknowledge that the defendants, Julian Khater and George Tanios, brought bear repellant to the Capitol and that Khater asked for it just moments before the attack but ended up using pepper spray instead.
The clarification came a week after Washington’s chief medical examiner ruled that Sicknick had suffered strokes and died of natural causes a day after the attack. The finding undercut theories that an allergic reaction to the chemical spray may have led to his death.
Taken together, these developments clarify key facts about the day before Sicknick’s death, which has emerged as one of the most well-known incidents from the insurrection.
The narrative was already muddled by prosecutors repeatedly citing the bear spray, unsanctioned speculation from the former US attorney who led the probe, exaggerated statements from law enforcement and inaccurate early press reports about a fire extinguisher hitting Sicknick.
Khater and Tanios have pleaded not guilty and maintain that they’re not a danger to the public. They’re seeking to be released from jail and will be before a federal judge again next week.
WK may never recover.
Meh, I’ll be alright.
That's what he said.
You'll just never be right without investigating the narratives from the leftist media you constantly push even in the face of evidence.
Of course you will, because you have no shame even after insisting that something was true, which turned out not to be true.
You’re a shill, and shills don’t feel shame when exposed, they just move to the next narrative.
"You’re a shill, and shills don’t feel shame when exposed, they just move to the next narrative."
Ultimately, this.
So, other than the execution of Ashli Babbitt, the 1/6 Capitol riot can no longer be classified as deadly? Meaning that the riot was not deadly but the response was.
It will never cease to be "an insurrection that claimed five lives."
...except it only claimed one.
And was not an insurrection but a peaceful protest. I mean, the only death was not caused by them.
There is no way it can be said with a straight face that was a peaceful protest. There are lots of videos of the violence the MAGA mob engaged in.
That speech approval poll cnn and cbs were touting...
The full poll details reveal that CBS actually spoke with 10,420 U.S. adults and then whittled the sample size down to just 943.
Of this 943:
54% were Democrats (510 people)
25% were Independents (235 people)
18% were Republicans (169 people)

Only 36% of people think Biden's first 100 days went well.

Sadly a few of them are on this board.
Did they have to whittle it down to 943 because the other 9,477 didn't watch?
Probably. Who was going to be the most likely to watch that boring-ass shit to begin with?
Ratings were down 75% compared to all four years of Trump, so you have a good theory.
Probably because of the lockdowns.
There is no news in Pravda and there is no Truth in Izvestia but there is BS in CBS.

Some of you may not be aware that Hunter Biden has published an autobiography, and I wouldn't want any of you to miss out on your chance to get a first edition. Here's part of a review from The Guardian:
"Far from playing the victim, he brags that his intake of vodka and crack was “astounding – even death-defying” and he has the cheek to claim that he accepted $80,000 a month from Burisma because the money allowed him to spend extra time caring for the stricken Beau."
https://www.theguardian.com/books/2021/apr/11/beautiful-things-a-memoir-by-hunter-biden-review-confessions-of-a-hellraiser
The book appears to be all about how the alcoholism and drug addiction were a reaction to being the son of a great man, the unique trauma of dying family members, and not only that, but it also explains why he apparently took up with his dead brother's wife.
All of that's behind him now. The solution was the love of a good woman--he married her a week after he met her.
Now that he's found the fucking courage and the shit-head strength necessary to move forward, won't the rest of you please stop saying terrible things about him? He's read to leave it behind him now.
Wonder if he discusses the kid his dad refuses to acknowledge existing.

Both Norway and Sweden saw flu disappear at exactly the same time in 2020 and haven’t seen it return.
So interventions in Norway worked to beat Covid AND flu, but lack of interventions in Sweden controlled flu but not Covid. Got it.

Translation of tapes by Zariff show he denied knowing about the 200 Israeli attacks Kerry told him about. Democrats still claiming it was public knowledge. Problem, even if it was you can not disclose classified material if a clearance holder without direction from the classifying authority.

-Garry Kasparov
"magic climate beans"; I'm stealing that
Stick to losing at chess to computers, chump.
Keep in mind, during a summit in Egypt in October 2014, Kerry was essentially brow-beaten by the international media into providing supply drops to the Kurds during the siege of Kobani, after saying that providing them with material support was not in the US's strategic interest.
This dipshit folds faster than a clothing clerk at the Gap whenever he gets any kind of real pressure put on him. How the fuck did he ever survive leading men in combat during Vietnam?

Alternately, maybe the kind of courage it takes in a fight to drive a boat onto the beach in the face of RPG and small arms fire, is a different kind of courage to persist in one's views day after day, in the face of vocal opposition?
He’s a jigalo that passes time by spending his wife’s first husband’s money.
I have a hard time believing that. Israel often does not confirm them but it is common knowledge and reported in the media. If Kerry said anything he is an ass but then again we knew that. I wouldn’t believe anything Zariff says either.
Zariff is almost certainly exaggerating the figures, but I have no doubt he'd take the opportunity to embarrass the US if Kerry really did something that stupid.
Hard time believing what? Something that counters your prior assumptions?
Again, you ran to an inference that it was common public information.
Is it your actual belief that Iran does not monitor Israeli media?
I wouldn't either...but given how, shall we say, deferential to him Kerry is...why would he embarrass him?

School District Tells Principals To Create Fake Curriculum To Send Parents After Complaints Of Indoctrination
"Prior to the pandemic you didn't send everything home or have it available. You taught in your classroom and things were peachy keen. We are going old-school."
https://www.dailywire.com/news/rockwood-schools-fake-curriculum-parents-indoctrination
This doesn’t mean throw out the lesson and find a new one. Just pull the resource off Canvas so parents cannot see it …
Keep teaching! Just don’t make everything visible on Canvas. This is not being deceitful. This is just doing what you have done for years. Prior to the pandemic you didn’t send everything home or have it available. You taught in your classroom and things were peachy keen. We are going old-school. …
You could Duplicate an entry/lesson in Canvas (making 2 copies) Publish ONE for the whole class that is a LEAN version of the lesson. The “original” that has all the stuff on it, can be published and only assigned to specific students (IF NEEDED), OR you could specifically email those students a copy of what they need.
The reason I say “make a copy” You can publish the NEW one that has less information on it. Then for that kid who is all virtual and needs to full lesson, you can publish it and assign it ONLY that kid…
Anything that “could” be picked apart I would suggest using this above approach… Again I wouldn’t throw it out, but you could just not give them access to the story.
When you get to Power Imbalances – You might remove the two examples and just go over them in class (same as above). …
I hate that we are even having to have this conversation. 29 days and counting!
This story pissed me off the other day. Teachers went from a respected profession to a profession of woke pieces of shit.
Those that cannot do, teach.
Those that can't teach, signal woke nonsense.
These idiots don't seem to realize that if parents are that involved in their kids' education, they'll see the "woke" study materials during the school year.
Also:
In addition to serving as a school administrator in Rockwood, in 2018 Fallert was elected to the school board of a nearby school district, Jefferson R-7, illustrating the way in which apathetic voters often elect those whose interests are with teachers, rather than parents, in little-scrutinized school board races.
This is a good example of why adopting the "I'm not corrupt enough to get involved in government" pretense is so stupid, shallow, and self-defeating. Stuff like school boards and town/city councils is where a lot of this bullshit ends up getting pushed, especially in communities that are vulnerable to left-wing entryism. Non-leftists are going to have to become a lot more involved in how their communities are run--and most importantly, aggressively and repeatedly tell Milennials and Gen Zers "no" for the first time in their lives--if they don't want them turned into breeding grounds for these woke psychotics.
These idiots don’t seem to realize that if parents are that involved in their kids’ education, they’ll see the “woke” study materials during the school year.
Also assumes that kids aren't getting a load of lies in school and then going home and jumping on Youtube, Discord, Snapchat, etc., or even just talking with their parents/relatives and discovering that their school teachers are full of shit.
Also assumes that kids aren’t getting a load of lies in school and then going home and jumping on Youtube, Discord, Snapchat, etc., or even just talking with their parents/relatives and discovering that their school teachers are full of shit.
As someone whose daughter goes to a very woke school, this is exactly what happens.
I predict the generation that is in its teens right now is going to develop a serious distaste for identity politics.
Rockwood was my school district growing up.
I went to private school, thankfully.
"Groups pressure Biden to fight "disinformation,""
You put the scare quotes around the wrong word.
"Groups" pressure Biden.
"Groups" are the DNC and their progressive fake grassroots organization like the MoveOn.org family tree.
Well, I suppose you could scare quote "pressure" as well. I mean, it isn't like he is on the opposing side... "Ooh, let's not have censorship of the opposition. He has already sicced the federal apparatus on at least 4 political opponents that we know of... All within the first few hours in office.
So I guess 'Biden' is the only word there that doesn't belong in scare quotes. And it isn't like he is the one making calls around the White House... His name is just a proxy for that brain trust. So... Maybe "Biden" in scare quotes is appropriate too.
Private corporations - they can do whatever they want.
I think it's actually good the way it is.
The DNC and MoveOn.org are groups, and they are pressuring Biden to fight something they call "disinformation."
What they call "disinformation" is often completely true information that reflects poorly on them.
"A managed democracy is a wonderful thing...for the managers...and its greatest strength is a "free press", where "free" is defined as "responsible" and the managers define what is "irresponsible"." - Robert Heinlein
There's also the fact that the majority of people who are high risk have already gotten their shot. It's simply lower priority for everyone else. Add to that the risk of an extremely sharp side-effect, and it justifies every counterpoint that this was an experimental vaccine that was rushed out with minimal testing.
I've only gotten the shots because neighbor is a pharmacist who didn't want excess shots to go to waste. Only effort required was answering the door.
Maybe that is what we need. A vaccine delivery service.
Which is a cost to taxpayers.
Maybe you could charge a delivery fee if they would allow it. Or volunteers.
I saw that Minnesota converted two buses into mobile clinics.
At some point, you have to put your foot down. It's the same argument that we had over right-to-vote. People were arguing the moral mandate of universal mail-in ballots without even a request. However, if you cannot bother to get to the polls for several weeks or request a ballot, I'd say you don't care enough to vote.
Similarly, I got free vaccines from the county at the fairground in a very quick and convenient manner. At some point, you have to say that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

"After 20 years of liberty, female education is once again threatened by hardline Islamists"
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/apr/14/afghan-women-fear-the-return-of-the-taliban
The subtext here is the claim that the US needs to keep troops there.
Seems 'the women' (and the Afghanis in general) get a chance to make some choices:
1) Keep your medieval religion and those rags on your heads.
or
2) Join the 21 century.
Regardless, I'm tired of paying for troops so that you can run beauty salons.
Some retired General was on Fox this morning telling us that these minimal number of troops all over the M.E. are there to protect us in America from future terrorism, not for nation building or rights policing. In other words, like the 25,000 troops in S. Korea, to serve as trip wires to get the U.S. into wider conflicts if anyone dares to attack U.S. forces. In any case, couldn't the Taliban, for instance, attack the Afghan government all over the country - except for a few U.S. bases - without harming one American thus avoiding the "trip wire?"
Which I don’t understand. The Taliban have no interests outside of Afghanistan.

First, these are people of every color other than what Asians wear.
And then the headline really should read:
"Lower cost housing is closer to industry than higher cost housing!"
Hold on, you're telling me that pollution is worse in big cities than in the middle of nowhere?
Weirdly, housing costs in undesirable areas also tend to be lower. I'm sure government can do something about that, though.
Republican counties have cleaner air than Democrat counties!
The J&J pause was a good thing. it showed that scientists and bureaucrats think there is at least a possibility that the vaccines are not totally safe, unlike the ridiculous “totally safe” statements they made based on a few months of testing. The pause is one more data point that they are liars.
They are using it again. A lot of people are still saying they want that one because it is one dose.
I'm also attracted to the fact that the J&J is not experimental technology, but is the old-fashioned tried-and-true style. OTOH, J&J is a 'legacy' company and I'm not sure I totally trust their quality control.
vaccination rates plummet because everyone got vaccinated.
50% is not everyone.
50% of everyone or 50% of the people who haven't already contracted it?
Again as I was driving around yesterday the state's CDC guy started reading off the numbers. "Four people died today with COVID...." and the reporters repeated "Four people died today from COVID..."
One person in the audience was brave what I would have asked, which was "Did they die from the virus or were there other causes. They guy very reluctantly said one person had a preexisting condition, which doesn't answer the question. A car accident is not a preexisting condition. So if one of those for was killed by a drunk driver and tested positive, the spokesman would be technically telling the truth.
It's all bullshit.

The mere fact that they have these differentials is evidence enough that the figures are cooked, it's just a question as to what extent they've done it over the last year. Especially with these goofy claims that no one caught the flu last year, but concurrently millions were catching the coof during the regular flu season.
And despite the fact that the measures taken to stop COVID shouldn't have been nearly as effective against the flu.
Why wouldn't masks, handwashing, sanitizing and social distancing be effective against the flu?
Because the CDC says so - - - - - -
"Unvaccinated Asymptomatic Persons, Including Those at High Risk for Influenza Complications:
No recommendation can be made at this time for mask use in the community by asymptomatic persons, including those at high risk for complications, to prevent exposure to influenza viruses."
(Please not that this quote is from the 'flu' part of their web site, NOT the Communist Chinese Virus part)
I don't know anyone claiming that nobody caught the flu last year, though I don't know anyone who actually did.
However I did predict, a year ago, that we'd see fewer cases of the cold and flu thanks to masking, sanitizing, and social distancing.
In this case I do believe correlation is causation.
As far as everyone going to the doctor with a cold or flu being diagnosed with COVID goes, I'm not buying it. That's tinfoil hat stuff as far as I'm concerned.
The CDC estimates influenza rates but I’m not aware of any reliable data for colds (URI). Most people just ride it out at home. I tend to get one every year but I have never been to a doctor for it.
Of course those things help prevent spread. Mothers have known this for years and they are always right. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, wash your hands and you are staying home for the next few days (quarantine).
Also chicken soup is good for you.
However I did predict, a year ago, that we’d see fewer cases of the cold and flu thanks to masking, sanitizing, and social distancing.
Except by doing so, you're admitting that these were completely ineffective at stopping the massive nationwide spike that took place during the regular flu season. There's no logical reason that these measures stopped one, but not the other, as they are both driven by the same factors.
Moreover, the flu disappeared in Sweden as well, where they don't do the measures. Likely it's simply Covid crowding the flu out of the respiratory virus season. Next year the flu will probably take over again.
What did GLibs say about this amazing story?

Dunno. sarcasmic recruited me and I’m getting along just fine there.
I go there sometimes for the links. I’m not cool enough for that group.
On Monday, I went to 10 different pharmacies in eastern Pittsburgh (PA) with the goal of getting an appointment to receive the J&J covid vaccine.
Pharmacists at 7 drug stores told me they administered either Pfizer's or Moderna's vaccine, and didn't know any pharmacists (or anyone else) who had the J&J vaccine. Several of those pharmacists also inaccurately told me that CDC (or the government) had banned J&J's vaccine due to blood clots, which I quickly corrected them about.
Pharmacists at two CVS stores (that had J&J vaccines) told me I had to go online or call 1-800-CVSSales to schedule an appointment (i.e. they weren't allowed to schedule me to get a shot at their own store), which would require me to wait an hour or more online or on the phone to schedule an appointment.
After five hours of going to different pharmacies, a went into a RiteAid in an all black neighborhood where the pharmacist told me they had the J&J vaccine, and that I could get a shot in five minutes (after completing a form), which occurred pronto.
So why did I have to go to 10 pharmacies before (luckily) stumbling upon a J&J vaccine?
I haven't seen even one advertisement by any drug company or by any pharmacy chain (or anyone else) informing people which brand of covid vaccine they administer.
The fact that none of the ten pharmacists I talked to (just four days ago) knew where I could obtain a J&J vaccine speaks volumes about the incompetence of CDC, FDA, Big Pharma, Pharma retail chains and the news media.
Amazingly, pharmacists at CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreen and Giant Eagle stores didn't even know that the CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens and Giant Eagle stores two miles away were administering different vaccine brands.
The reason I chose J&J's single vaccine is because the 1 in a million risk of blood clot is miniscule and similar to the risk faced by those who weren't vaccinated, and because Pfizer's CEO recently said that a third dose and annual boosters may be necessary, and Moderna may also recommend a third dose.
The reason I chose J&J’s single vaccine is because the 1 in a million risk of blood clot is miniscule and similar to the risk faced by those who weren’t vaccinated,
Not to mention, Bob, that the disease in the wild affects women to men at a 4:1 ratio, predominantly between puberty and menopause, and all the "victims of the vaccine" were women.
Sorry, 3:1 ratio. 75% who develop it are women. Percentage to ratio conversions are a social construct, so you can't judge me.
I can see the advantage.
If medicine worried about a one in a million chance of complications it would not exist. That is astonishingly low number. We are all informed now.
CDC is terrible at risk management. They stopped the vaccine over a 1 in a million concern that's killed 1 in 500? These guys need to be hit with a clue by 4.
The specific medical condition that caused those clots occurred in five out a million women before the vaccines. So five times more concerning than from the vaccine. But "when in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout".
Bill, I would have to say that you deliberately went about this in the least convenient way. You failed to use a convenient and available reservation service that details what is available for the sole purpose of complaining about it.
How are pharmacies supposed to keep track of who has what? Where is that in their job description? Especially since it's only carried by their competition.
That doesn't excuse the incorrect information, but it seems that you were deliberately awful

Have to question the idea you have of “adaptive pressure” or that we can force a protein to evolve.
The way it works is the opposite. The more we vaccinate people, the fewer organisms hosting the virus, and the lower the chances of a random mutation occurring.
If you flip that, that more people infected, the higher the chance of a mutation occurring. Because the mutations are random occurrences; there is no forcing mechanism. It’s just a numbers game.
You are talking about the coronavirus like it has consciousness. Like the virii have a monthly meeting where they decide they had better form some variant strains because they are under attack by humans.
The reality is the more hosts and the more copies of the virus hosted, the higher the chance a random mutation occurring — caused by cosmic rays, miscopying of DNA, picking up DNA from some other organism, or some such random, natural mechanism.
Those spike proteins are merely mutations that are more concerning to the medical/health community because they are mutations that alter treatment modalities. The virus doesn't give a shit about that. And even if the virus did give a shit about it, it wouldn't change the speed of those mutations.
Further - mutations depend mostly on viruses spreading and duplicating relatively unconstrained. Mutation itself is random but it is a numbers game. The more times a virus duplicates, the more often the RNA in a particular virion will mutate. It is why the tracked mutations show up more frequently in places where there are a lot of cases - from the first mutation in Wuhan (one variant went to Europe) - to the more recent ones which includes mutations which likely started in UK, US, Nigeria, South Africa, Brazil, India, Panama, Spain, Australia, Scotland, Costa Rica, Italy, Thailand, Ghana, Israel/Palestine, Sierra Leone, Denmark, Japan, France, Cote d'Ivoire, UAE, Uganda, Mali, South Korea, Slovenia, Belgium, Bangladesh, Oman, Russia - you get the picture?
What is notable is how few subsequent mutations originate from China. Obviously the first round of mutations from Wuhan but only one (starting prob in June 2020) since then and that one was a mutation that was re-imported (prob from Europe) and then mutated in China. Those mutations are the best evidence of whether a virus has actually been suppressed/eliminated.
Couldn’t be farther off. I’m actually quite good looking, with a “swimmer’s body”.
“The vaers website lists over half a million adverse events and over 2,500 deaths related to covid vaccines as of mid March.”
This is your most extraordinary claim, so let’s fact check it:
https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-vaers-deaths-idUSL1N2LV0NY
“... Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has so far found no evidence that vaccinations led to patient deaths.”
"That’s why they keep Saying the vaccinated must wear a mask."
The CDC is backing off from that extremely cautious position. I thought that the consensus position here in the commentariat, which I agree with, is that the science says there is virtually no chance of transmission from someone who has been vaccinated with the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.
"They’ve come from places with and without high vaccinations rates."
Which argues against "vaccine pressure evolution" theory, does it not?
"Ironically the UK variant seems to be most problematic and it came from one of the countries with the highest rates of vaccination."
Woah, woah, woah, woah. The UK variant arose in December 2020, right when the UK started vaccinating people. It's not like it was just detected this week or something.
"Your last point is so dumb and ass kissy it’s not even worth a report. I bet you’d suck Clinton’s dick as a show of gratitude for jizzing on her dress and not the carpet too."
Why do you go to interpreting my point as my kissing government ass. I'm talking about appreciating people like Kathrin Jansen, head of vaccine research at Pfizer:
https://www.cbsnews.com/video/pfizer-head-of-vaccine-research-i-took-this-very-personally-nothing-else-mattered/
What does that have to do with kissing the ass of government officials, or the Clintons, or whatever you are ranting about?
"It’s free? I seem to remember billions in taxpayers money being allotted for vaccine development. Are you too poor to pay taxes? "
https://reason.com/2021/04/30/covid-19-vaccination-rates-plummet-since-johnson-johnson-vaccine-pause/#comment-8882339
As an aside - Your ilk had better start engraving WuFlu on rocks and such. Because in a couple hundred years, all the stories and such will fade and be forgotten. But the RNA and virus evolution will remain in bodies. And because so many mutations occur in the UK and US, those two places will likely be seen as the origin of the virus
Hahaha. So apparently that crowd is getting their info from some Facebook anti-vaxxer group. It's insane trying to figure out what they actually are saying.
Rabies isn't transmitted the same way Covid is idiot.
