8 and 10-Year-Old Escorted Home by Firefighters After Neighbors Report Unsupervised Kids
Living under constant adult supervision should not be a government mandate.

Nevada doctor Daniel Hansen was at work when two of his boys, ages 8 and 10, asked their mom if they could play down the street on their dead-end road. Mom said yes, and off they went to collect rocks and poke around in the stream bed.
Firefighters escorted them home.
A neighbor had called 911 to report unsupervised kids. To Hansen, this seemed like a waste of valuable resources, as well as the kind of thing that makes parents second-guess themselves whenever they think their kids are ready for a little independence.
"Before they made it back, the fire department arrived, having received a call from this same concerned neighbor to check on a report of 'unsupervised children,'" said Hansen. The firefighters apologized "but proceeded to report that they had to legally report to the Sheriff Office and that we might be receiving a follow up call or visit from [Child Protective Services]."
So he wrote up the incident and submitted it as testimony to the Nevada Senate Judiciary Committee, which is currently contemplating SB143, the "Reasonable Childhood Independence" bill.
Nevada's is one of five such bills introduced this year. Idaho, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas all drafted similar bills, expanding upon Utah's 2018 "Free-Range Parenting Bill." These new laws say that parents who let their kid engage in activities like playing outside or coming home with a latchkey are not neglectful unless they show disregard for obvious, serious dangers, or if they do not have a reasonable basis for thinking their kid can handle the independence they're giving them.
One change from the Utah version is that the pending bills do not say that a child is entitled to independence only after their "basic needs are met." Children who lack some basics may be neglected, of course, but some of them, unfortunately, are poor—and their parents are doing the best they can. They shouldn't be doubly penalized by not being allowed to play outside while mom works two jobs.
The Nevada law is co-sponsored by state Sen. Dallas Harris—a gay, Black, Democrat mom of one—and Assemblywoman Alexis Hansen—a straight, white, Republican mom of eight who happens to be Dr. Hansen's mom.
But the bill is not only for doctors' families living on quiet, dead-end streets. Harris grew up in Vegas, the child of a single mom who worked at Caesars Palace. She sees the bill as a justice and fairness issue because, as she told the Judiciary Committee on Monday: "Current neglect laws lessen parents' confidence, especially poor and minority parents, in their ability to allow children to be independent." In Nevada, approximately 10 percent of kids are black, but they make up 30 percent of the kids in child protection cases.
Narrowing the vague see something, say something neglect law ensures that a working mom allowing her eight-year-old to bike around the neighborhood, needn't fear being accused of a crime. Poverty will not be mistaken for neglect.
This past decade, as several stories of child protective over-reach went viral—including the very recent case of Ohio mom Shaina Bell, who was thrown in jail for letting her kids, ages 10 and two, wait in their Motel 6 room while she worked her evening shift at Little Caesar's—the public has responded with great sympathy. Undoubtedly, many people are concerned that their own parenting decisions could be similarly misinterpreted.
That's why the Reasonable Childhood Independence bills are being introduced by such a diverse group of supporters, including bi-partisan sponsorship in Nevada and Oklahoma and, last year in Colorado, where it passed the house unanimously and was expected to do the same in the Senate until COVID-19 shut things down.
The bills being proposed would stop this pointless, scary, expensive cascade of government intervention. Living under constant adult supervision should not be a government mandate.

It's truly the end of freedom when you need another law to let your kids play outside.
That ship has sailed.
Check your state laws on the hoops you have to jump through to exercise you second amendment "rights". (hint: don't wear a sidearm to the courthouse to look up the laws)
It sailed when the interpretation of the Constitution changed from islands of government in a sea of liberty, to islands of relative freedom in a sea of government. I put it to the post-Civil War era, where technology provided excuses for more government intrusion, and the Civil War provided the lesson that a million deaths could accomplish in four years what 70 years of mostly peaceful jibber jabber could not.
Early 1900's; Between Wilson and FDR commie-visions and massive threats to the Supreme Court that kept ruling their commie-plans unconstitutional. And lets not throw out Obama's new standard of endless stimulus and forced purchasing of insurance (lucky didn't hold for long - but is expected to come back).

I'd wait 3 years, then follow them to their workplace. During peak work hours, I'd smash their window with a tiny safey hammer and dump in their seat a 5 gallon bucket of maggot infested rotting chicken parts and bacteria infested maggot juice, then skedaddle with a smile and raging giggles.

Occupational licensing, building codes, trust busting, unions pro and con, that all started in the post-Civil War 1800s. Darwin gave Progressives an excuse for eugenics then too.
Actually, if you read up on Eugenics, Charles Darwin, and Evolution on Wikipedia, you'll find that Charles Darwin was one of the few people of his time who did not support Eugenics.
Darwin's theory of Evolution was simply a description of the development of living species over time. It was not a prescription or proscription for how an individual human should live life or how a society should run.
In fact, Eugenics runs at odds with Evolution because Eugenics requires a uniform phenotype for everyone in society. This, of course, leaves a species vulnerable to environmental changes that are hostile to that phenotype. For example, if Eugenics engineered humans completely without melanin, those humans would go extinct from skin cancer if the climate switched from polar to all tropical and sunny.
Also, the idea of breeding humans for certain character traits or societal roles preceded Darwin by centuries in the form of Plato's Totalitarian ideas in The Republic. Spiritualists and politicians were far bigger fans of Eugenics than scientists.
Progressive social engineers were a sinister bunch, but Darwin and Evolution shouldn't be lumped in with them.
Oh, and another thing: Anti-Evolution policies in government schools existed side-by-side with Eugenics laws in North Carolina and probably many other places as well.
If the individual mandate does come back, I can guarantee two things. One, it won't take effect until after the 2024 elections, and two, if the Democrats win the White House in 2024, they will never enforce it, just like during the final two years of the Obama administration.
You can always hire a gender tolerant, state licensed nanny to chaperone your children for $45/hr.
or wait until CPS make their move, and you'll have "them" full time, somewhere else, and not have to pay for "it". And you MIGHT get to see your kids once every two weeks, under careful, monitored and recorded conditions. It's just how they roll.
The point is raising a generation of people who are comfortable being constantly monitored, and who feel alone and frightened when they are not.
Exactly! Create another generation of kids so frightened by independence that they'll run to give up every last bit of it to big government.
Kill your cellphone.

BUT, BUT, BUT -
The deadly Communist Chinese Virus was down by the creek!
Seriously, they need to rename these bills the "STFU KAREN" bill.
I disagree. Man boy bonding is fundamental to emotional and sexual development and a key aspect of Western civilization. Would Patroclus have been such an amazing warrior without his pair bonding with Achilles? If you want to learn more about being a good male role model for youths, I suggest checking out your local chapter of NAMbLA, an organization that promotes love and libertarian values.
Holy crap.

Second time today....
"In ancient Greece and Rome, a catamite was a pubescent boy who was the intimate companion of a young man, usually in a pederastic relationship. It was generally a term of affection and literally means "Ganymede" in Latin, but it was also used as a term of insult when directed toward a grown man."
The North American Marlon Brando Lookalike Association?
when the Man and Boy are Father and Son, yes, that bonding I Sessentioal. But no one here was talking about that.
WHat YOU are promoting is a vile and disgusting perversion and must remain illegal. It is a violation of all that is right and good. Wnat you call "love" is perversion.
Not so good with the parody detection, huh?
I know what you are getting at...
But the way you worded it - sounds gay as fuck!
Can you imagine a world without Karens?
"O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
Ease stop using "Karen" ass insult. Use your own name for character assassination, or better yet don't judge others at all. Thank you.
Yes I can. I grew up on one. Today the karens get ignored in my daily life, they've got nothing for me. But when I see them messing with others I can get rather irate..... and will often do a verbal takedown when possible.
Please stop using "Karen" as an insult. Use your own name if you must judge others, or best of all, stop judging others. Thank you.
Please stop copying and pasting, idiotkaren. Thank you for fucking off and dying, stupidkaren.

You might as well ask people to stop a runaway freight train with a wet noodle.
It’s easy to blame progs for the current over nannying we see here, but most of it started in the Reagan-Bush years 1980s-early 2000s as an offshoot of the War on Drugs and sex offender hysteria, and a way to blame moms for not being at home with their kids at all times
jeebus we played in the woods at night and our parents were happy about it
My daily conclusion:
We are, as a society, stupefying ourselves into certain oblivion.
Now I'm going home to read The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, because it just seems so relevant. The Wokes and Karens are inside the gate like a hoard of Visigoths.
Or you could just watch Idiocracy
It really wasn't a wast of the firefighters time, most of what they do is sit around. So the answer is no they don't have better things to do
And it goes into the stats as an incident, which helps justify their hours, manpower, etc. That’s why fire trucks respond to health emergencies.
I work at a university, and during a sporting event a girl broke her leg. Both the ambulance and a fire engine showed up at the field. It took a half hour to get the firetruck backed up off of the fields without destroying them. Thanks for the help, guys.
So do the parents know who the nosy uptight neighbor is?
I'd make it a point to call the cops on said neighbor for everything. Lights on after 10PM? Call the cops.
Mowing the lawn on Sunday? Call the cops.
Grass 1mm too high? Code Enforcement gets a phone call.
Fuck Karens.
Who knows? If you let your kids roam around unescorted, they might find a Dr. Seuss book or a Mr. Potato Head and be on the path to racism and gender bias.
I was worried that my sons would get in trouble while they were roaming the fields near the house. So, much like the pioneers of old, I armed them. .22 snake shot will get that pedophile in the van running.
.22 snake shot would work on vital areas; I leave it to your imagination as to which.
This seriously blew me away. I mean back when I was a kid if I took off riding my trike(circa 1960) the neighbors didn't call the FD, or the police, but called my Mom. This is seriously, asinine.
P.S. Yes I'm a Boomer.
My brother and I bought our youngest brother a 30.06 for Christmas when he was 12, because .22s are for little kids.
If my family were today like we actualy WERE back when, we'd have all nine of us gotten fobbed off onto some foster care facility. By the time I was six I commuted daily to school, about three miles, on foot. Carrying my own lunch AND scoolbooks. At eight I had to ride my bike to school, four miles. By the time I was 12 I was riding all over Siuthern California.. up into the hills, down to the beach, etc. I'd take off from home in the morning, ride 17 miles to the harbour where I and one other friend would take out our 26 foot non-motorised sloop to sail Newport Harbour. Day done. we'd make the dock again, secure the boat, I'd hop back on the bike and be home, all 17 miles of it, in time for supper. Normal. By 16 I was riding up into the mountains, out into the desert, most often solo (no one else had the time or inclination to just go ride for a hundred or a hundred fifty miiles in a day just to go ride. I'd be off to friend's houses, exploring, camping for a few days.
Another friend I met in my adult life grew up outside of New Orleans, out in the bayous. He and a pal when they were twelve, would load up the pirogue with their camp gear, a .22 rifle, sleeping bags, and the two would go wander and explore for a week or more at a time. That was normal growing up in those parts. Nothing bad ever happened to me, or my friend, or anyone else I knew, who grew up learning to be repsonsible for ourselves out from under the shadow of Mom. She somehow knew moslty where we were, and we always had a dime in our pockets to call home collect if we had to. I only did once.. and I know I rode ten thousand miles all over Southern California during my senior year of high school, so I got around. One time in six years of riding wherever. And I've never yet since then had to "call home" when "in trouble" out on the bike, which I STILL go out and do. WOuldnt make any difference if I did "call home" now cause when I'm out no one is home.
Self-responsibility is a valuable skill, and too rare these days.
"At eight I had to ride my bike to school, four miles."
You forgot, "up hill, both ways."
Try to imagine a world in which the Hitlerjugend Prospective Services have free reign to coerce at gunpoint WITHOUT Lenore keeping us filled in on what's going on.
When I was a kid at that age, it was the mid-1960's. I lived in a small town (5,000) in the Midwest and enjoyed being a free-range kid back then. Most of the adults in that small town then knew who all the kids belonged to - so if I misbehaved - odds were pretty good my parents would find out. I feel fortunate to have experienced all that back then, but realize the world has changed a little.
It’s truly the end of freedom when you need another law to let your kids play outside.
It's nice to have such good people working in such services. It gives me hope for a brighter future. True, I know that most of these fires are caused by improper use of appliances or because they are damaged and not repaired/replaced in time. We have a lot of good local services in this country, don't we? I even came across dryer repair San Diego https://5starappliancerepair.pro/san-diego/ which is a really good service, and they fixed everything, no complaints on my part.
Another example of how mathematics is racist and needs to be eliminated and replaced with Afro-centric math or Ebrithmetic (Ebonic arithmetic).
If the Klu Klux Klan was trying to invent ways to keep blacks poor and oppressed, anti-whiteness math would be right up there.
Is that a base 40 counting system?
Spelling is racist. I make the same mistake. It's hard to even pronounce it correctly three times fast.
I blame point of sale machines with pictograms.
Thank you; I've read a couple of his works {The Idiot, The Brothers Karamazov] a number of years ago, and I will read those as well.
Kafka also seems relevant to these times, sadly enough.
Kafka is ALWAYS relevant.

Solving math problems is racist too. Also grammar. Grammar is racist.
