The Government Isn't About To Tell You To Stop Drinking Now
Plus: Operation Warp Speed is off to a slow start, Trump's school choice order, and more...

This year, not even the government is going to try to tell you not to drink. Updated U.S. dietary guidelines go about like you would expect (eat your vegetables and fruits, stop eating so much processed meat and refined grains, etc.). But the guidelines—updated every five years—are surprising in one way: they don't adopt a recommendation from experts to revise down alcohol limits for men.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of Human and Health Services (HHS) have the final say on the guidelines. But they take recommendations from a panel of experts—who said in a summer report that men should not drink more than one alcoholic beverage per day. That's down from saying two alcoholic beverages per day is OK for men, and on par with the drink limit recommended for women.
However, the newly released Dietary Guidelines for Americans do not include this recommended change.
Although "the preponderance of evidence supports limiting … alcoholic beverages to promote health and prevent disease, the evidence reviewed since the 2015-2020 edition does not substantiate quantitative changes at this time," it says.
The whole thing is sort of silly, as the nutrition content and health effects of alcoholic beverages are highly dependent on what type of drink is being consumed, as well as how quickly, whether it's with a meal (and what sort), and things like body size, metabolic status, and a host of other personal health factors.
But "sort of silly" is pretty much the mantra of the dietary guidelines, which have always been beholden to business and agricultural interests, nutritional fads, and a whole lot of dubious science, as well as painfully slow to change. "We have the situation where we just cannot reverse out of these policies that were originally based on really weak science," Nina Teicholz—author of The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet—told Reason in 2018.
What the 2020 dietary guideline gurus wrote about alcohol isn't terribly unreasonable, From their executive summary:
Binge drinking is consistently associated with increased risk compared to not binge drinking, and more frequent binge drinking is associated with increased risk compared to less binge drinking. Similarly, among those who drink, consuming higher average amounts of alcohol is associated with increased mortality risk compared to drinking lower average amounts. The Committee concurred with the recommendation of the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans that those who do not drink should not begin to drink because they believe alcohol would make them healthier. Although alcohol can be consumed at low levels with relatively low risk, for those who choose to consume alcohol, evidence points to a general rule that drinking less is better for health than drinking more.
The committee adds that "there is evidence to tighten [recommendations] for men such that recommended limits for both men and women who drink would be 1 drink per day on days when alcohol is consumed."
It also recommends that people cut added sugars (a.k.a. those that don't naturally occur in food)—another update that was rejected.

Vaccine rollout efforts are off to a worryingly slow start. "The goal of Operation Warp Speed, a private-public partnership led by Vice President Mike Pence to produce and deliver safe and effective Covid-19 vaccines to the public, is to ensure that 80 percent of the country's 330.7 million people get the shots by late June," notes CNBC. "To meet that goal, a little more than 3 million people would have to get the shots each day, the math shows." But in the past two weeks since the vaccines started going out, only about 2 million total (of the 11.5 million vaccine doses shipped so far) have been administered.

President Donald Trump issues "Executive Order on Expanding Educational Opportunity Through School Choice." But like so many of Trump's executive orders, this one is basically all smoke and mirrors. While the "headline suggests it creates a federal school choice program for students whose schools have gone all-remote," it actually "creates no program, and what it does do would require about a year of sustained bureaucracy-wrangling and lawsuit-fending-off effort by the White House and the HHS secretary before it would produce any real effect," writes . - U.S. Rep.-elect Luke Letlow, a Republican from Lousiana, has died from COVID-19 at age 41.
- The new $600 stimulus checks started going out last night. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R–Ky.) blocked consideration of a bill, passed by the House, to raise the payments to $2,000. McConnell is introducing his own legislation that would bump checks up to $2,000 while also eliminating Section 230 and creating a commission to study election fraud.

- Argentina lawmakers voted to legalize abortion:
The Senate voted 38-29 to give millions of women access to legal terminations under a new law supported by President Alberto Fernández. The margin was expected to be much smaller. Massive crowds of abortion rights activists and anti-abortion campaigners gathered outside the Palace of the Argentine National Congress to await the results, which came in the early hours of the morning after an overnight debate.
- "Mexico is set to become the world's largest legal cannabis market," reports The Wall Street Journal:
Mexico's Senate passed a bill in late November legalizing recreational marijuana. Lawmakers in the lower house say they will approve a bill by February, though they want to raise the amount of pot consumers may possess in public beyond the Senate bill's limit of 28 grams, or about an ounce. Currently in Mexico, one can possess up to five grams of marijuana without being arrested.

The new coronavirus variant which is more easily transmitted that's running wild through the U.K. has hit the United States...
And you know what that means. Lock down even harder now.
Looks like the masks and lockdowns are working well in the UK, time to triple down here!
We've created a mask-resistant super bug.
SleepyJoe will have a 2 mask mandate.
Right; one over mouth and nose, one over eyes.

The new euphemism for government.
Imagine how bad it would be without them!
You know. It's funny. On two levels. One, people still haven't connected the dots. Something tells me they'd struggle with numbered colouring books.
Two, masks were introduced in 1897. It took 123 years for us to accept them as legitimate tools to fight a virus? This mayhem and stupidity is ALL politics and NO science. Doctors who peddle them are ignorant jack asses.
A micro-biologist said to me, 'any doctor that claims it prevents viral load spread is the same as an astronomer saying the moon is made of green cheese.'
We're surrounded by dumbasses.

I have no tolerance for those lactoses either. They've just about got on my last nerve.
Rufus,
First off, Hello.
Yes, there is much to be said on the dubious science regarding masks.
On the other side, here in the States, we have Anti-Maskers threatening to sic the Alphabet Soup Boys and the Justice Department on businesses that simply politely ask customers to wear masks indoors, and the Anti-Maskers cite The Americans With Disability Act as their rationale.
And as always, independent businesses get pressure to do this from the State and are like Bob Dylan says; "Just Pawns In The Game."
So it's a Jimmy vs. Timmy Rumble-In-The-Jungle Pay-Per-View all the way down:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FIwRSCYLD9M
Look, think of the mask as a hands-free cough cover. Anyone who wasn't raised totally feral was taught at some point to cover their mouth when they cough, long before COVID-19. And what's not to love about hands-free?
It will enable you to do with two hands all the things freedom-loving people need to do...like work...or carrying signs...or holding a bull horn...or cold-cocking an Antifa trying to extract Woke words from you...Hmmm...
Think of the mask also as a vehicle and medium of free expression. As I mentioned on another thread, I have used my mask combined with ventrilloquism to call out rude assholes in stores. One could do as well speaking truth to power in other scenarios too.
My own mask is imprinted with "Keep Calm and Stay Six Feet Away!" ...another thing civilized, freedom-loving people are taught to do, pandemic or not.
Another man I saw had a mask of tiny LEDs that spelled out an animated scroll message: "Gov. Roy Cooper Sucks!" (Gov. Roy Cooper of North Carolina, that is.) I think these masks are programmable too, so use your imagination and get creative!
It will just have to do until the vaccine becomes ubiquitous. Meanwhike, eat your mask...There's starving kids in China who want one.
The lengths we go to accept and tolerate irrational behavior and propaganda. It's impressive.
I'm fine with voluntary masks. Not mandates. Bottom line is they don't do anything. It's false virtue and misguided security.
So, no. I will never tolerate what I think is tantamount to superstition. No reasoned person would.
Anyway, I'm a ADD. I lose it after 10 seconds and constantly tugging on it because of the lack of oxygen. Plus I have reduced hearing and sometimes need to read lips. In the limited times I've gone out it's been irritating but what to the 'normies' and the majority care, right?
And masks are a door to more stupid futile measures.
So I've pulled out of society for now because I want no part in this theatre and hysteria.
Cheers.
Corrections:
I'm ADD.
I’ve gone out it’s been irritating. BUT what DO the ‘normies’ and the majority care, right?
Being hard of hearing these days is terrible. I didn't realize how much I lip read until I couldn't see people's mouths when they talked. I'm way deafer than I thought.
#metoo
Rufus,
My sympathies on the hearing impairment. That reminds me: I heard a hearing aid commercial say that masks reduce conversations by 12 Decibels, which can turn normal talk to a whisper.
Perhaps this is an opportunity for some smart-apple to create a mini-PA system that magntizes together from both sides of the mask. The trick would be to have it work without audio feedback. ("Sibilance! Sibilance! Check One! Check Two! Sibilance! Sibilance!")
As for ADD/ADHD, back in my day, that was what's called "Kids being kids"...really, today, it's "Information Age grown-folks being Information Age grown-folks." And back in my day, if'n ye could pull it off without gettin' shot up with Ritalin by the School Counselor, Aye Gawd, we liked it!
Hey, I'm a reasoned person too and saw many reasons to keep distance from society before this all struck. I'm just saying make the best of a crappy situation whenever possible. Remember: We're all in this apart...and t'was ever thus.
ADHD may be over diagnosed in many people but there is solid scientific evidence that those truly with the condition brains do function differently. Much like Autism, ADHD isn't so much inability to focus but an inability to filter out outside stimulus. ADHD and Autism also are often co-diagnoses. Interestingly enough, as someone both on the spectrum and ADHD, the prescription is stimulants. And I was also advised to keep drinking coffee. Stimulants and caffeine actually improves my focus and ability to filter out outside stimulus.
My 13 yo son who is also autistic and ADHD was prescribed a cup of coffee in the morning and his teacher gives him another caffeinated beverage at lunch. His grades and work improved dramatically, to the point he doesn't need medication, since we started this.
Damn I wish I got coffee when I was in school!
The rest of us just wish you'd gotten an education.
Good one!
Georgia doesnt have mask mandates.
I have not worn a mask at all during this nonsense.
I think you are one of the dumb asses. If you look at how Korea handled the virus, they have done very well, and are extremely diligent about mask wearing. Not many lockdowns, nor school closures. I believe in results rather than opinions.
Here's a neat example of why the measures are UTTERLY USELESS.
https://science.sciencemag.org/content/49/1274/501
All these epidemiologists who sell this crap are FULL OF SHIT.
If we don't understand something, how can we apply a measure against it?
What a great piece. Thanks.
One cannot assume a mask mandate means there has been compliance. I have heard that the London tube is a hot spot of masklessness.
If true, good.
But study and poll after poll after research shows there's HIGH compliance - in the 80% range in major Western countries.
Poorly pasted studies supporting masks assert there needs to be over 80% compliance in order to see any measurable benefits.
Guess what? There are none.
Drop the masks.
Cite?
I was wrong. The articles I had seen about low compliance were older, but recent compliance is high (97%):
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/young-men-face-mask-public-transport-b230491.html
“I was wrong.”
Again.
Compliance has been very high in California, especially in the SF Bay area. So have cases.
I thought we were talking about the UK.
What's the fricken difference? High mask compliance does not impede the spread.
'Flatten the curve' and 'stop the spread' are lies that came out of the asses of incompetent and idiotic 'experts'.
A little over 5000 miles.
Most people in London get around on the underground.
And magically jumped all the way to colorado and infected someone who didn't travel. Meaning it was already in the US for awhile. And nobody noticed until they wanted you to lock down harder.
Hey, look on the bright side. Now we can collect free stimulus checks in perpetuity.
Thank you government, high protector and provider.
You forgot Science!
Science shows toilet paper is now worth MORE than the USD! 🙂
Or less paranoid explanation: nobody noticed until UK virologists let everyone know there was a new variant/strain, so then US medical personnel started looking.
(Forget who it was yesterday who made a big deal out of the difference between “variant” and “strain” because they wanted to make Ron Bailey out to be stupid. I don’t claim to know which term is appropriate.)
“(I don’t claim to know which term is appropriate.)”
And yet you squawked about it as if you did.
Were you the one yesterday? I gave a cite contradicting your claims, showing that Ron Bailey’s terminology was reasonable.
But, sure, it’s “squawking” to Dunning-Kruger poster boy, R Mac.
When you can't keep track of your adversaries lolol
I guess. I’m not on the side here that accuses everyone of being sock puppets of other people.
Poor Dee. Learned a new term and is embarrassing herself over using it. An no, it wasn’t me.
Hello.
Hello
Hey guys! Hope everyone is having a nice morning.

Vaccine rollout efforts are off to a worryingly slow start.
You know SleepyJoe will solve this problem. Day one.
The vaccines have been shipped to the states, exactly as planned. The states, being forewarned of the amounts, sites of delivery, and dates to expect them by the Feds and Trump, are sitting on them as they decide how to be woke and not step on any bureaucrat's toes while handing them out.
Got them delivered to the states - check.
Not being used - check.
Blame Trump - check.
Just like all the ventilators BS everyone screaming they need more while standing in front of thousands. Its blaming others for their own incompetence
Dunning-Kruger.
Trump's fault!
https://www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/12/murphy-explains-why-nj-missed-deadline-to-begin-nursing-home-covid-19-vaccines.html
TLDR: Murphy, to his credit, isn't actually blaming Trump.
This is the early stages: that 3M per day pace isn't realistic until all of the logistics are settled. Hell, I work for a hospital network and we've only managed to get ~7k of ~35k employees vaccinated thus far (I'm at the back of the line and have been told not to expect mine until Feb/Mar).
The vaccination figures won't begin spiking until they're available to the general public. At that point all the CVS, Walgreens, and urgent cares around the country will spend two weeks doing nothing but administering vaccines.
Agreed, it's like no one has heard of a ramp-up period. All they want to claim is "at the present rate..." We got multiple vaccines in 9 months instead of 4-5 years. We're already well ahead of what the experts estimated & what NBC was "fact checking".
...with a Colorado man who says he has not recently traveled anywhere testing positive for it.
The British Empire's reach is back, baby!
*shakes head* If he had only worn a mask, all this could have been avoided.
He didn't wear it while sleeping. The rona knows when you are sleeping.
And knows when you're awake.
It knows if you are protesting
So be woke for goodness sake.
What about bad or good? Or is that the job of the local health police?
And when you're woke
LMPD is planning to fire Det. Joshua Jaynes - the officer who obtained the search warrant for #BreonnaTaylor's home.
We wish him well in the next police department to hire him, likely the next town over. That kind of highly trained, quality talent can't go to waste.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R–Ky.) blocked consideration of a bill, passed by the House, to raise the payments to $2,000.
Mitch doesn't care about poor people.
He knows the checks will bounce.
So; It's Mitch's job to parent the poor now? I thought it was poor peoples job to care about themselves or settle to be poor. Not sure how Mitch got the job to be their puppet-master.
"The Senate voted 38-29 to give millions of women access to legal terminations"
That's wonderful news. But the wording is problematic. It's not only "women" who need to access abortion care. Transmen and nonbinary uterus owners are often capable of getting pregnant as well.
#TransMenAreMen
I wonder if Elliot now uses a strap on.
Are you referring to actor Elliot Page? That's exactly my point. Probably his best known role is the film Juno in which he played a pregnant character. (Although I would have liked the movie more if his character had gotten an abortion instead.)
I thought that meant they could legally be fired now.

They'll just seize public spaces and tell everyone else to get off.
They already did clear back in 1978... Claimed 70% of the entire U.S. was their "public space" and anyone already having claim needed to be harassed into leaving so that one bird they saw 5-years ago wouldn't feel crowded in it's 100-acre plot.

Sarcasmic gets a reprieve.
Waaah! Waaah! You take that back you, you..mean girl!
Thought you might come up with something witty, like "You can pry that drink from my cold dead hand!" Can't even insult with creativity. What a loser.
You get the insults you deserve.
“You can pry that drink from my cold dead hand!”
I think I see where the confusion is here. That’s not very witty.
Currently in Mexico, one can possess up to five grams of marijuana without being arrested.
That amount increases to unlimited if you have bribe money.
U.S. Rep.-elect Luke Letlow, a Republican from Lousiana, has died from COVID-19 at age 41.
I blame his party affiliation.
A science denier. If he would listen to the wise teachings of SleepyJoe, he would be alive.
So I looked at this story beyond the headline, and this jumped out:
He died from a heart attack following a procedure related to the infection, his doctors said.
So, he didn't actually die from COVID--the doctors fucked something up and he went into cardiac arrest.
The other scare tactic they're using now is a report on a doctor who tested positive for the coof after getting the vaccine. If this is true, this leads to the following scenarios. Either:
--The vaccine is useless since it doesn't actually prevent infection. There's literally no point in getting it, and risking the potential side effects, if it won't keep you from getting the coof anyway.
--The tests they're using are faulty. This one is more likely since the high cycle threshold that's been in place here results in more false positives. Either that, or the test kit itself is garbage (if the test kit is made in China, this is a near-certainty, as Chinese products are dog shit).
S/he also has a 5-10% chance of getting COVID anyway even after the 2-shot regimen. This has been reported literally everywhere. And there is a ramp-up period before the vaccine is fully effective.
Vaccines aren't foolproof. Your immune system still has to do its job even with the advance notice it provides.
Wasn't it supposed to be a 2-shot regimen, followed by a third booster shot a few months later? That's what was done with the polio vaccine, but I thought I saw it mentioned for this, too.
Not that I've seen. The one article I saw related to that said they're expecting protection to last for at least a few years.
Though honestly with all of the asymptomatic infections and likely cross-immunity at play I'd be surprised if the general public needs a booster at all. Bundle it together with Prevnar and take it from there.
And vaccines take time to become effective. If you get exposed the day after you get the vaccine, the vaccine aint doing squat.
So, he didn’t actually die from COVID–the doctors fucked something up and he went into cardiac arrest.
without even reading the article I had just assumed it was something along these lines...
@redrocks -- where did you find that info?
Daily Fail.
There was one about a nurse in WA who got the Wu 6 days after getting the first shot. These people are un-fucking-believable with their fear mongering. I don't wish violence on anyone, but when it happens to these fuckers, I won't feel bad for them.
China makes a good AK 47.
And good ammo
The U.S. should again start importing both
But in the past two weeks since the vaccines started going out, only about 2 million total (of the 11.5 million vaccine doses shipped so far) have been administered.
Time to do what government does best. Pollute the water with it.
If they give it out to the citizens, they won’t have any in stock. If they don’t have any vaccines in stock, they will be blamed for not having the vaccine in stock.
Economic disaster!!!!
Reason.com's benefactor Charles Koch has fallen out of the top 20 richest people on the planet.
His $56,300,000,000 net worth puts him at only #21. The Koch-funded #Resistance must not tolerate this. By noon today I expect a Boehm article denouncing Drumpf's tariffs and a Dalmia column demanding open borders.

#56BillionIsntEnough
Turns out his brother was the brains of the operation.
It's not Mr. Koch's fault he cannot find a way to prosper in a high-tariff / low-immigration economy. Really, who could pull off such a miracle?
Well, besides Bezos and Musk and Gates and Zuckerberg and Page and Ballmer and Brin and Ellison and three Waltons. But they just got lucky.
I made a shit ton this year.
What a coincidence! SQRLSY ate a ton of shit this year. That’s the same, right?
They were recommending 2 drinks per day and then 1? They must mean liquor because how can you only have 1 beer?
At least it's not Utah where they make buying booze a goddamn hassle.
To be fair I don't think there's much of a market there, but the state run stores need to go and let the market determine where alcohol should be sold.
Another reason mormons need to go.
We could also do well with fewer hate filled morons.
"...At least it’s not Utah where they make buying booze a goddamn hassle..."
In your case, that's good; you're fucking ignoramus sober. I'm sure drunk, you're far worse.
Fuck off and die, shitstain.
Im smarter than you when I'm blacked out Sevo.
Im smarter than you if I'm on blow!
I'm like 50 million times smarter than you when I'm on acid.
Righty shit
I tried to post on here when I was trippin once, but it was such a goddamn downer. Everyone is so mean and negative (including me).
So I went and vandalized an LDS church instead.
Just like his hero, Adolph, the little Nazi Kill believes he is smarter than everyone else.
Where did I say I'm smarter than everyone else? I said I was smarter than Sevo. That's a very low bar.
No matter how many times you call me a Nazi doesn't make it true. Just like spewing LDS lies doesn't make them true.
Dude you advocate genocide as a way to rid the world of people you consider undesirable. And you justify your calls for genocide with conspiracy theories about them breeding out of control as part of their sinister plan. This is word for word out of Nazi propaganda films inbthev1930s. If it works like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably isn't a goose.
You spread lies that those people who are trying to destroy the country spread to try and trick people into believing their bullshit.
I'd leave them alone if they'd stop breeding like crazy, knocking on doors, and trying to force their bs on everyone.
First we discussed this at length esterday. You couldn't prove anything I stated was able, in fact you even admitted such and that what you called a lie was a different conclusion from the authority you appealed to. And secondly, because they bug you, your answer is to kill them? Can all of us who you bug use the same "final" solution for you? The more you protest about being a Nazi the more you prove you are. Stating you are willing to not commit genocide if they do exactly what you want them to do may be the most Nazi thing I've seen in a long time.

I mean at this point I have to conclude you are either a parody or a troll because no one can be that lacking in self awareness and education.
And it is funny you complain about them forcing their BS, by knocking on your door and asking if they can talk to you, and when you tell them no politely leaving, while defending your call for genocide for them if they don't stop doing stuff you disagree with and beliefs you disagree with. Knocking on your door is far less forceful then you calling to wipe them out. SMH. Has to be a parody, otherwise how do you function with so little intellectual ability?
It shouldn't be hard to find names of people persecuted or killed by Nazis for simply being Mormon? Or family members that can claim they witnessed persecution or killing?
I'm not gonna argue with you.
You're an inbred hick who's proud of being a hick. I dont have to prove anything to you. I know I'm right.
I know I'm smarter than you because I don't fall for Mormon propaganda.
And you're not going to argue because you have nothing but opinion nd appeals to authority and a room temperature IQ.
And there you go again having delusion of grandeur on your own intelligence. Just like I stated above. Like a bluegill to a worm, you just can't resist rising to the bait and proving me correct yet again.
"like a bluegill to a worm." Ok hick!
The fact that you consider that an insult is all we need to know bao
The fact that you think calling me a hick or hillbilly is an insult is all we need to know bout your world view and how myopic it really is.
“like a bluegill to a worm.” Ok hick!
Look, you hicklib faggot, just because the only fish you ever caught in your life was Bigmouth Billy Bass's dick at the Portland CHAZ Artisanal Glory Hole, doesn't mean that anyone who fishes is a redneck.
You know you're smarter than me? Let me know the next time you have published multiple peer reviewed science papers and was just invited to be part of a multi-year, multiple site field research. And I'd rather be a hick then am ignorant Nazi who is so ignorant he doesn't even realize he is a Nazi and admitted yesterday his proof wasn't actually proof but the writer's conclusion based upon evidence, largely which was made up of evidence created by the people conducting the Holocaust. Do they bathe and dress you, or are you able to do that yourself, at the halfway house?
You haven't cited anything or if you did I missed it.
My work doesn't involve publishing scientific papers, so no I don't do that.
I don't need to brag about crap to strangers on the internet. I know I'm right. I know I'm smarter than you.
I hope you and the non-mormon members of your family have a happy new year. I hope your Mormon family members die.
You haven't yet shown anything approaching critical thinking or intellectual ability. And you don't think telling other people you are more intelligent isn't bragging on the internet? It is amazing you can get out of bed in the morning without help with that level of awareness. And blindly regurgitating other people's work is intelligence, nor is calling for genocide. Nor is calling people Nazis for opposing genocide not is denying that calling for genocide is far more fascist than believing in individual freedom and the ability to freely tactics religion of your choice without threat of death.
What critical thinking have you shown? "I come to my interpretation by trusting the Mormons." Yet you can't even cite any names, anecdotes, or anything..
Don't care about your insults. Your only argument is simply criticizing one of the sources of the one book I cited, but offering no evidence to the contrary yourself.
My interpretation of your ideology is you're a far right fascist hillbilly. That's my interpretation. You can come to your own but I'll reject it no matter what!
I'll admit I'm stupid for arguing with you this long when it's fucking pointless. Neither of us is going to admit were wrong.
What exactly makes me far right in your opinion? And define fascist, what is it tennants? Is free market capitalism and individual liberty really fascism?
And for your information, pointing out the invalidity of the sources used in your citation is a valid debate strategy. You made the charge Mormons weren't killed for being Mormon, you produced a single citation, whose sources are hardly without reproach. And in the end it doesn't matter, because if you substitute Jew for Mormon your rhetoric is almost word for word what Hitler and himmler used to justify their final solutition. Your arguments are sophomoric and unimaginative. Their show a shallow grasp rooted in a false dichotomy of right equals fascism left equals good. Ergo, if you identify as left you can't be a Fascists, even when calling for the exact policies that Fascism supported. Up to and including using genocide to wipe out undesirables. It shows two dimensional, rather elementary thinking skills.
You have yet to show what my policies are and how they are fascists. So supporting freedom is fascism in your simplistic mind?
Holy shit you used ergo! Debate over! You're clearly superior.
You attacked one source(out of several) for it's flaws. I acknowledged it's flaws.
It's hard to find information on something that happened a long time ago with the few witnesses left dying off as we speak.
What the fuck have you cited?
Nothing?
You're just saying you're argument is more logical without even making one.
That's how I know I'm smarter than you. That's how I know you're a fascist leaning hillbilly.
Hicks like you think theyre much smarter than they're. Look at all the Trump dick sucking wannabe fascists on here blindly supporting Trump's effort to throw out an election. I'm pretty sure you aren't doing that(I could be wrong but I think you said you didn't vote for Trump in 2020). You may not be as nuts as them, but you believe many the same things. How's that different than you calling me a Nazi? You have much more in common with fascist dictators than I do with National Socialists(say what you want about National Socialism. At least it's an ethos.[that's a movie reference. I wouldn't point that out but you love lying so I try to be clear as hell. Which is hard because I like sarcasm.]) You're proud of living in the shithole part of Montana. My friends in Kalispell, Missoula, and Bozeman refer to that part of the state of the as the shit lands.
Blow? Do you have a second job manning a glory hole like Atkny does? And how does it make you smarter when you’re blowing those anonymous cocks?
It's a slang term for cocaine dummy.
Please leave you un-american traitor
Seems like if you really hate Mormons a less genocidal approach would be to simply avoid Utah. It is fairly easily avoided.
True story: while driving through Utah on family vacation, my dad got a speeding ticket in a speed trap outside a small town. He dealt with it by not paying the ticket and making sure never to go back to Utah.
Problem is they are breeding like crazy and sending their missionaries everywhere in their attempt to take over.
I wish it was as easy as avoiding/nuking Utah, but their spreading out.
Also I can't get any uranium...
I just looked it up. LDS are only 2% of the US population. It’s going to take quite a takeover attempt.
From what I’ve been reading about the LDS church, faith is waning with the wide availability of information about Joseph Smith’s true story on the Internet, and intrusive demands on family time and finances from the leaders, and the revelation of the massive pile of cash the church kept secret.
So do Muslims, who have a far greater propensity for violence. Except while there are only 16.3 million Mormons worldwide, there are over 1.8 BILLION Muslims.
Seriously, if this isn’t just bad schtick, you need a better sense of proportion.
He has to be a parody because no one can be so self stupid as to literally advocate for genocide and call those who oppose genocide and support individual freedom fascists. No one can really be that myopic and peurile.
Dee is so dumb.
So, now I’m curious. There are a lot of similarity between LDS and Scientology. Do you hate Scientologists, too?
I've only met like one or two. What they believe is nuts, but Cruise and Miscavige don't seem bent on forming a theocracy. Just abusing their members, but I can avoid that by not joining.
They proselyte at their building as well. So you have to go to them. Not door to door like Mormons.
So fucking dumb.
It has been almost 2 months and the vote totals counted by precincts does not even come close to marching the certified voting numbers.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/pennsylvania-republicans-find-alarming-discrepancy-twice-the-margin-of-bidens-victory
Shit like this is why people don't trust the election. Basic audit accounting doesn't work. The states in question all had moving total votes from Nov 4th. If the state doesn't even know the total number of votes cast prior to counting how can they claim no fraud happened? That is a basic accounting measure for voting across the world, a measure the US failed at in multiple states.
More analysis shows the numbers don't make sense.

Georgia would probably be better off just separating from Atlanta at this point. They're looking in the face of an Illinois/Oregon/Washington scenario where one county has so many people that it doesn't matter how the rest of the state votes.
Oregon has 2 1/2 counties that decide the state. Multnomah, Washington(western suburbs), and half of Clackamas(the non redneck part).
Multnomah has decided the state all by itself since 2000.
Considering migration counters that show people leaving lefty cities in wildly crazy amounts - if that be true; how do they pretend just recent city population all the sudden swung whole state's blue.
It really does raise suspicion of rigged election processes going on and even growing/spreading all across the U.S. I have a really hard time buying the idea that 60% or USA citizens want's to destroy the USA.
60% don't wanna destroy the country. 40% wanna destroy it and they voted for Trump.
I know you inbreds aren't too bright...
Really? I’m pretty sure my IQ and education are tangibly superior to yours. As are most of the ‘Trumpistas’ here. In fact, I can think of several Mormons who are too. In their case maybe it’s the magic jammies
I asked him to compare CBs yesterday, as he accused me of being uneducated. I don't think he even knows what a CB is.
Which "country" are you referring too? The delusional USSR the left pretends to live in that is governed by mobs instead of a Constitution?

"But the guidelines—updated every five years—are surprising in one way: they don't adopt a recommendation from experts to revise down alcohol limits for men."
Basing mandates for diet on nutrition experts is like basing mandates for disease control on doctors. Even if they actually all agreed, they see only what is in their domain, and typically ignore all other consequences of their mandates.
No doubt at least some nutrition and medical science demonstrates that people could be healthier if they gave up drinking alcohol (and lots of other foods). But would they be happier, summed up over lifetimes? How many of the pleasurable things in life would you give up in order to live longer?
How many of the pleasurable things in life would you give up in order to live longer?

President Donald Trump issues "Executive Order on Expanding Educational Opportunity Through School Choice." But like so many of Trump's executive orders, this one is basically all smoke and mirrors.
Yet it will still be a Day One priority for the Biden administration to reverse.
And all the legal hoops Trump would have to jump through to enact, would mysteriously disappear when Biden overturned them.
Did everyone notice that?
Reason has been advocating school choice for almost forty years, but Trump pushes it forward so it's handwaved away as "smoke and mirrors".
Why does she say it's smoke and mirrors? Because it "creates no (federal) program".
And this is supposed to be a libertarian magazine.
Trump is bad because any attempt he makes to increase school choice will be fought by teachers unions and other progressives.
And this is supposed to be a libertarian magazine.
It's been quite some time since I've ready anything from Reason that supports even mildly libertarian positions.
They are policy wonks now. They are all in for government programs they just critique the programs when they a run badly. Like every other policy-wonk technocrat.
It's sad!
Here's ENB'S "smoke and mirrors", the fucking liar:
The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall take steps, consistent with law, to allow funds available through the Community Services Block Grant program to be used by grantees and eligible entities to provide emergency learning scholarships to disadvantaged families for use by any child without access to in-person learning. These scholarships may be used for:
(i) tuition and fees for a private or parochial school;
(ii) homeschool, microschool, or learning-pod costs;
(iii) special education and related services, including therapies; or
(iv) tutoring or remedial education.
Not much time to virtue signal about Trump, so she’s gonna do it harder, and more dishonestly, then ever.
Isn't it all amazing.
Vaccine rollout efforts are off to a worryingly slow start.

This one the heels of the atlantic piece where Acosta says the media deserves hazard pay and were forced to be assholes, but they won't be against biden.
Then again some assholes here also like the atlantic and don't give a ahit the media is in bed with the democrats. They will continue to blindly parrot the dnc talking points as news because the atlantic and wapo tell them to.
The drama has made him famous, but Acosta said he doesn’t expect to bring the same crusading style to his coverage of the next administration. “I don’t think the press should be trying to whip up the Biden presidency and turn it into must-see TV in a contrived way,” he said.
Daniel Dale…says his beat will necessarily expand come January. “It will not be a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week job to fact-check Biden,” he told me. Though he stressed that the same “intensity and rigor” should be applied to the incoming president, the simple reality is that Biden doesn’t lie nearly as often as Trump does.
Media is about to become more of a joke than even under Obama. And the hilarious part is multiple cosplay libs here post almost exclusively from the pieces mentioned in the atlantic article.
Even yglesias came out and said current media is fucked and he is an open leftist.

Breakingviews - China Inc will recycle used white guys
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-china-jobs-breakingviews-idUSKBN28V23T
American company men may find a savior in China Inc. As corporations try to make their ranks more ethnically representative, many experienced – if white and older – males will find themselves without a job. Chinese companies, deterred from acquiring U.S. firms with valuable intellectual property, can recruit their discarded human capital instead.
...The coming year should be a banner one for diversity. California has rolled out quotas for boards; Nasdaq is considering requirements for listings. Companies from Wells Fargo to Google to Delta Air Lines have diversity hiring goals in place.
The goal is to reach new customers and positively transform corporate cultures. In the immediate term that may translate into net layoffs of older, more expensive, Caucasian men.
What a great way to end racism, fire a bunch of middle age white males (and probably a few females, too) and replace them with less qualified minority hires. I am sure that won't turn out to be a bad idea.
And by less qualified I mean less experienced.
And I also wouldn't be surprised if these companies would ty and gets those they are laying off to train their replacements.
Getting a vaccine funded, researched, developed, tested and released to the general population in 9 months is nothing short of miraculous. Perhaps Ms. Brown could point us to where anything of this scale was ever done before for a pandemic.
Clearly, her marxist-leaning husband is affecting her perception.
The media told her to be critical so she is. This was the common blue check mark narrative yesterday. Reason doesn't have an original thought anymore.

Final national murder update of 2020:
Murder up 36.7% in 57 agencies with data through at least September (though most have data through November). Murder up in 51 of 57, 37 of 58 agencies reporting murder up more than 30%.
...The largest national % increase ever reported (data since 1960) was 12.7% in 1968 and the largest # increase was 1,938 in 1990. A 15% increase this year (and I think it'll be much larger) would mean 2,400 more murders & be the worst one year increase in murder ever recorded.
But we don't need police.

The "Covid emergency" will never be over. It will mutate and seek out new missions when this particular virus threat abates, repurposing its funding and clinging to its power. They're already talking up the "next pandemic" and how we must forever remain at DEFCON 2 to be ready.
German MP suggests restrictions ‘similar’ to Covid-19 lockdowns to fight ‘climate change’ – Warns ‘there will never be a vaccine against CO2’

Social Democratic MP, Karl Lauterbach, “We need measures to deal with climate change that are similar to the restrictions on personal freedom [imposed] to combat the pandemic,” the professor of health economics and epidemiology at the University of Cologne wrote in a guest piece for Die Welt newspaper.
Lauterbach added, “there will never be a vaccine against CO2.”
Lauterbach in Die Welt on December 27, 2020: To cope with climate change, steps are necessary that are "analogous" to restrictions on personal freedom due to the pandemic.
[slightly different translation]: "For me the impression remains that we in Germany and also in Europe, let alone in the United States, would not have been able to defeat this pandemic without the development of a vaccine. However , there will never be a vaccination against CO2. We, therefore, need measures to deal with climate change that are analogous to the restrictions on personal freedom in combating pandemics. I increasingly dare to doubt whether this can be achieved."

The Threat of Authoritarianism in the U.S. is Very Real, and Has Nothing To Do With Trump
The COVID-driven centralization of economic power and information control in the hands of a few corporate monopolies poses enduring threats to political freedom.
https://greenwald.substack.com/p/the-threat-of-authoritarianism-in
In 2020 alone, Trump had two perfectly crafted opportunities to seize authoritarian power — a global health pandemic and sprawling protests and sustained riots throughout American cities — and yet did virtually nothing to exploit those opportunities. Actual would-be despots such as Hungary’s Viktor Orbán quickly seized on the virus to declare martial law, while even prior U.S. presidents, to say nothing of foreign tyrants, have used the pretext of much less civil unrest than what we saw this summer to deploy the military in the streets to pacify their own citizenry.
But early in the pandemic, Trump was criticized, especially by Democrats, for failing to assert the draconian powers he had, such as commandeering the means of industrial production under the Defense Production Act of 1950, invoked by Truman to force industry to produce materials needed for the Korean War. In March, The Washington Post reported that “Governors, Democrats in Congress and some Senate Republicans have been urging Trump for at least a week to invoke the act, and his potential 2020 opponent, Joe Biden, came out in favor of it, too,” yet “Trump [gave] a variety of reasons for not doing so.” Rejecting demands to exploit a public health pandemic to assert extraordinary powers is not exactly what one expects from a striving dictator.
Virtually every prediction expressed by those who pushed this doomsday narrative of Trump as a rising dictator — usually with great profit for themselves — never materialized. While Trump radically escalated bombing campaigns he inherited from Bush and Obama, he started no new wars. When his policies were declared by courts to be unconstitutional, he either revised them to comport with judicial requirements (as in the case of his “Muslim ban”) or withdrew them (as in the case of diverting Pentagon funds to build his wall). No journalists were jailed for criticizing or reporting negatively on Trump, let alone killed, as was endlessly predicted and sometimes even implied. Bashing Trump was far more likely to yield best-selling books, social media stardom and new contracts as cable news “analysts” than interment in gulags or state reprisals. There were no Proud Boy insurrections or right-wing militias waging civil war in U.S. cities. Boastful and bizarre tweets aside, Trump’s administration was far more a continuation of the U.S. political tradition than a radical departure from it.
The hysterical Trump-as-despot script was all melodrama, a ploy for profits and ratings, and, most of all, a potent instrument to distract from the neoliberal ideology that gave rise to Trump in the first place by causing so much wreckage. Positing Trump as a grand aberration from U.S. politics and as the prime author of America’s woes — rather than what he was: a perfectly predictable extension of U.S politics and a symptom of preexisting pathologies — enabled those who have so much blood and economic destruction on their hands not only to evade responsibility for what they did, but to rehabilitate themselves as the guardians of freedom and prosperity and, ultimately, catapult themselves back into power. As of January 20, that is exactly where they will reside.
Employees are now almost completely at the mercy of a handful of corporate giants which are thriving, far more trans-national than with any allegiance to the U.S. A Brookings Institution study this week — entitled “Amazon and Walmart have raked in billions in additional profits during the pandemic, and shared almost none of it with their workers” — found that “the COVID-19 pandemic has generated record profits for America’s biggest companies, as well as immense wealth for their founders and largest shareholders—but next to nothing for workers.”
These COVID “winners” are not the Randian victors in free market capitalism. Quite the contrary, they are the recipients of enormous amounts of largesse from the U.S. Government, which they control through armies of lobbyists and donations and which therefore constantly intervenes in the market for their benefit. This is not free market capitalism rewarding innovative titans, but rather crony capitalism that is abusing the power of the state to crush small competitors, lavish corporate giants with ever more wealth and power, and turn millions of Americans into vassals whose best case scenario is working multiple jobs at low hourly wages with no benefits, few rights, and even fewer options.
Those must disgusted by this outcome should not be socialists but capitalists: this is a classic merger of state and corporate power —- also known as a hallmark of fascism in its most formal expression — that abuses state interference in markets to consolidate and centralize authority in a small handful of actors in order to disempower everyone else. Those trends were already quite visible prior to Trump and the onset of the pandemic, but have accelerated beyond anyone’s dreams in the wake of mass lockdowns, shutdowns, prolonged isolation and corporate welfare thinly disguised as legislative “relief.”
Keep in mind that hysterical bitches here were crying about "fascism" when a few Antifuck terrorists got party-vanned this summer. Compare this to 50-plus years ago, when LBJ actually called in the 82d and 101st Airborne to quell the Detroit riots.
If Trump had actually brought in an Army division to Portland like LBJ did, DOL would have been screeching for revolution.
The left was simply telling us what they will do now that they've seized power.
Masks will help fight the CO2 menace though -- people concerned about climate change can keep rebreathing their own exhaust so it never escapes into the atmosphere.
"Vaccine rollout efforts are off to a worryingly slow start. "The goal of Operation Warp Speed, a private-public partnership led by Vice President Mike Pence to produce and deliver safe and effective Covid-19 vaccines to the public, is to ensure that 80 percent of the country's 330.7 million people get the shots by late June," notes CNBC. "To meet that goal, a little more than 3 million people would have to get the shots each day, the math shows." But in the past two weeks since the vaccines started going out, only about 2 million total (of the 11.5 million vaccine doses shipped so far) have been administered."
There is little reason to believe that the rate of vaccination won't increase over time.
In the meantime, what exactly does ENB want the government to do?
Something between wrap her in a blanket and tell her happy stories, and sweep her off her feet for a fulfilling, romantic fantasy.
In the meantime, what exactly does ENB want the government to do?

The Padres petered out in the playoffs due to a lack of pitching. In three wildcard games, we used an average of nine pitchers per game. With injuries to their two best starters, we did the same thing against the Dodgers in the NLS--but the Dodgers have built a Death Star.

There's a lot of downside risk there. Snell isn't nearly as good as his reputation (earned during that absurd 2018 campaign) and he's leaving the Rays' pitching bubble, and Darvish is old enough to fall apart at the drop of a hat. But you've gotta do something, waiting out the Dodgers will never work.
The Dodgers picked up Yarvish a few years ago to take them over the playoff hump. Didn't work out so well.

Funny, I was told that Proud BIPOCs are more likely to die from the coof due to "systemic racism," as opposed to being a bunch of diabetic fatasses.
We all know what the new alcohol guidelines mean...From now on, anyone who consumes more than one drink per day will be considered an alcoholic, which means it is now a national crisis and there must be more $ for research, prevention, and treatment, paid for by, you guessed it, higher alcohol taxes! These assholes are following a familiar script.
Question: why are all of these "legalize pot" laws of the "you can only have a small amount" variety?
Are there other legal things that are similarly limited?
Are there legal limits on the number of baseballs Ken can own? Are there limits on how many ham sandwiches Fist can have?
It just seems like some sort of game of hide the ball. Why is there not even a suggestion of actual legality... Grow as much as you like, Marlboro branded joints, Bayer branded extracts, etc.?
What is the point of having the police weighing your stash? Don't we want safe, legal and economical pot markets?
Don’t we want safe, legal and economical pot markets?
Answer: Yes
Who’s we? Answer that question and all your other answers fall into place.
Are there limits on how many ham sandwiches Fist can have?
Depends on how busy ENB is.
When I lived in the barracks back in the late 90s we had limit on how much alcohol we could have in our rooms. We had a new Sergeant Major take command and she did away with the limit, stating "I don't want you to come to my house and see how many bottles of wine I have at any given time, so I won't do the same to you." Our operations NCO for my company promptly held a formation and informed us that he didn't care what the Sergeant Major said, we still had to follow the old rules. That didn't go over with the Sergeant Major.
In ten years in the Army I've never met a good operations NCO. They all were petty despots and inconstant. Maybe the ones writing the rules are all ex Operation NCOs?
Incompetent. Not inconstant. Fucking predict text.
Also for anyone going into the Army, a word of advise, if you are an E-7 don't piss off the new E-9 a month after they take command of the battalion. It isn't a good career move.
Enough for a ham buzz but not to get blazed.
The whole thing is sort of silly, as the nutrition content and health effects of alcoholic beverages are highly dependent on what type of drink is being consumed, as well as how quickly, whether it's with a meal (and what sort), and things like body size, metabolic status, and a host of other personal health factors.
So in other words the guidelines are useless, like everything the government does. Why is the government in the business of giving me dietary guidelines in the first place?
Gender studies graduates need jobs too.
And the fascists already in the government will hire them to propagate the species.

East 20s, #Manhattan, New York, earlier today. ~25 - 50 mixed-age teenagers on BMX bicycles descend onto the streets. Two grab onto a car driving by to catch a ride. The driver breaks & 1 of the bikers crashes into something, resulting in a bloody lip. Next is below.
https://twitter.com/DrWinarick/status/1344142045263388672
They dragged out a cab driver 9 blocks above this scene and gang beat him within the same hour.
Running over massed bike riders on city streets is a public service.
I mean, why even focus on alcohol that much- the whole "let's put sugar in everything and say fats are bad" is the biggest lie in the history of food science.
Until they tell those big business interests to fuck off, expect Americans (and anyone else) to get fatter and fatter as all our food is loaded with the crap.
Here's the back story:

Human nutrition is based on correlation, non human animal models and studies of self reporting. It is fraught with inconsistencies and questionable data and thus questionable studies. Animal nutrition is much more solid. We can control diets and perform research such as kill studies and fistulated rumen studies. It is so accurate that we can fairly well model how much energy from a fed source and other nutrients are actually going to be utilized at the cellular level and how nutrients will be utilized for growth, lactation, reproduction etc.
Turns out Letlow wasn’t killed by Covid.
He had a heart attack after surgery “related to the Covid”. Doctor is quoted saying he had no underlying conditions.
All those leftists who did a victory dance on this guy’s grave (it’s all over social media) should apologize but they won’t because their humanity has been destroyed by politics.
Where did you find this information? I can't wait to show it to others.
In the midst of all of these complaints about problems with vaccine rollouts, South Florida is proceeding smoothly. They just opened it up to 65 and older. you call a number or go to a website to schedule an appointment and they even have drive-thru vaccinations.
I have a great deal of negative things to say about our government down here, particularly in terms of their bent towards extortion in building permits. But they sure do seem to be able to run large scale public health initiatives really well. None of the national stories about paucity of testing or difficulties with vaccines resonate down here.
The government should put the medica from receiving battalions (where you go before basic training to get all your shots) in charge. They could move a company level through in no time flat. Hell, in 2003 we were processing regiments in a day for deployment, including medical records reviews and vaccination, with less than 20 soldiers.
This also includes updating legal documents such as SGLI, next of kin notifications etc.
And each soldier was getting at least two shots that day (small pox and anthrax) if there shot records were up to date. I would say on average they were getting four vaccines a person.
For all their bluster about us being "at war with COVID," no civic bureaucrat really wants to run the country just like the military. The idea of having to submit to an actual chain of command rubs them the wrong way.
They're much happier running their offices like Soviet-style commissars.
Why isn’t the headline “Trump ships vaccine faster than States can administer it!”
Funny that.
Because Donald Trump did not invent or manufacturer the vaccines, and is not shipping the vaccine, either.
So you're saying it's not his fault that the state public health officials are incompetent?
As a matter of fact, I don’t think it is Trump’s fault.
So your prissy comment was pointless, then.
Not completely. He got to hector someone unnecessarily, which is how he gets his rocks off.
Argentina lawmakers voted to legalize abortion
Bad news for Argentinean babies.
Weird how in this age of decent birth control and sonograms, killing people is still a viable solution.

It will clear the path for mandatory abortions.
Ah, so your extreme conservatism is rooted in your religious beliefs?
When exactly is a fetus to be considered human?
Not biting.
I was just remarking on discovering the apparent roots of Mother’s Lament being so adamantly conservative. A lot of the Trump fans seem to be on his side because of their religious beliefs about abortion, which surprises me since Trump is not a moral or genuinely religious person.
Not biting.
I don't blame you, you might actually have to use something resembling logic instead of your preconceived biases.
I was just remarking on discovering the apparent roots of Mother’s Lament being so adamantly conservative.
Yeah, you tried for a gotcha and it blew up in your face. That was obvious, you didn't have to go into detail about it.
Logic alone ain’t going to give a perfect answer to the abortion conundrum.
What's this nonsense about a "perfect answer"?
I may have been trying for a “gotcha”, but you misunderstand the nature of the potential “gotcha”. It has nothing to do with abortion, and everything to do with being a person of religious faith and aligning yourself with a creep like Trump.
I've answered your pathetic 'gotcha' attempt just below, but since you seem to think opposition to abortion is bad and that it's tied to a belief in a god or gods, I have some questions for you.
As a left-wing cliché, do you hate all or just most religious people?
I assume you hate Evangelicals and Orthodox Jews with the fury of a million suns, but what about Copts and Presbyterians? I know Islam is hands-off, but how about Hindus? Do you hate Hindus, White Knight?
Of course, I'm just remarking on discovering the apparent roots of you're being so extremist left.
Well, she’s been spending a lot of time trying to connect with Killallrednecks, so I’m guessing there’s a dislike of Mormons on some level too. Plus the Canadian thing.
Starting to think that Dee is just an all around bigot towards anyone that’s not just like her.
“seem to think opposition to abortion is bad”
Never said that.
“do you hate all or just most religious people?”
Also never said that.
What does boggle my mind is when devout believers are fans of Donald Trump.
Sure you do. You seem to see the whole world in clichés so that must mean you're vehemently anti-religious.
No, I didn't misunderstand it at all. The issue was abortion and you tried to tie it to some strawman in your head in a rather lame attempt to look clever (hint: you failed miserably).
She does that often.
What is intrinsically religious about being pro-life? Can't the secular look at a fetus with a heartbeat, brainwaves, limbs, eyes that can detect light and a unique genetic code and say "That's a fellow human being".
But maybe you're right. When Christopher Hitchens wrote "anyone who has ever seen a sonogram or has spent even an hour with a textbook on embryology knows that emotions are not the deciding factor. In order to terminate a pregnancy, you have to still a heartbeat, switch off a developing brain and, whatever the method, break some bones and rupture some organs", he was obviously coming from a religious place.
Hell, read Hitchens article "A Left-Wing Atheist’s Case Against Abortion":
https://www.crisismagazine.com/2019/a-left-wing-atheists-case-against-abortion
Soooo religious.
Your problem White Knight is that you're a living, breathing cliché, and it's how you see the universe.
A Canadian Trump fan boy is certainly not a cliche, so I’ll give you that.
No you made a stupid generalized statement that bit you on the ass, so decided rather than admit your mistake you will resort to ad hominem a by attacking his country of origin.
Whenever White Knight starts squawking about "Canadians" you know that his well is dry.
Anyway, more Canadians are Trump fans, than haters. Although, like in the US, you could get canceled for saying so.
Where did Lament mention religion? Or are you trying to make the argument only religious people oppose abortion? Which seems a fairly large leap to make.
More a common, but by no means always present, correlation between adamant anti-abortion beliefs and having deep religious faith. But, no, not always.
So you're saying you're a radical abortion fan and hate the religious. Got it.
Didn’t say either of those things.
If you can project motivations so can I.
Once again the data is just swallowed whole as if it were the truest and purest image of reality.
At least media panic exploded out of the blocks like it always does.
“Vaccine rollout efforts are off to a worryingly slow start.”
Yeah. Who couldn’t figure that there might be delays in the complex delivery of vaccines that need to be kept super-cold to places that have to get super-cold storage installed, not to mention that the manufacturers have to construct whole new assembly lines.
It’s really amazing the number of supposed intelligent people who think you just snap your fingers and things appear.
The Government Isn't About To Tell You To Stop Drinking Now.
Re the above headline, might Thank Heavens For Small Favors Be Appropriate?
The Government Isn't About To Tell You To Stop Drinking Now
So the question is: When will they? There's probably someone somewhere saying: "Amendment 18 wasn't true Prohibitionism! This time, we'll get it right!"
Hmmm this was an interesting read for sure. But is it just me or did the blurb from the 2020 dietary guidelines sound extremely repetitive and convoluted? I feel like they could've shrunk that 200 word paragraph to one sentence?
