Joe Biden's Economic Policies Would Cost the Economy 4.9 Million Jobs by 2030, According to a New Study
The Democratic presidential candidate has promised not to raise taxes on middle-income earners. That's not the full story.

"Nobody making under 400,000 bucks would have their taxes raised, period, bingo," said Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in May. It's a claim he has made repeatedly throughout the course of his campaign. If he takes the White House and sticks to his present platform, it appears to be true.
But that slogan leaves out the broader economic implications of some of Biden's plans, according to a study from the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
The core tenets of Biden's economic agenda are to increase the corporate tax rate as well as taxes on high-income earners, to undo many of President Donald Trump's regulatory reforms, and to implement new subsidies for renewable energy and the health care market. The researchers calculate that over the next decade, these changes would prompt the economy to shed 4.9 million jobs and the gross domestic product to drop $2.6 trillion. In the year 2030 alone, they say, U.S. consumption would be down $1.5 trillion and median-income households would make $6,500 less.
Let's begin with the first point, which has been at the center of Biden's pitch to the American people. High-earning households would see an uptick in payroll taxes, something the candidate has been clear about. But he could also hike the corporate tax rate from 21 percent to 28 percent, and that's likely to have a more significant effect on the economy.
Before the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, America's corporate rate was 35 percent—one of the highest in the world. Many Democrats derided the steep cut to 21 percent, but it put the U.S. in a more moderate bracket. The average statutory corporate tax rate in Europe is 20.27 percent; Sweden, often hailed as a democratic socialist model, employs a corporate tax rate of 22 percent.
Meanwhile, a Biden administration would pivot back to the regulatory approach seen under former President Barack Obama. The researchers hone in on Obama's stringent health care rules, which effectively barred "low cost, high deductible, limited coverage health insurance plans," and his telecom regulations, which were supposed to establish net neutrality. "Forcing people to buy the highest quality and most expensive product, or none at all," they write, "lowers economic efficiency, or redistributes from consumers to the sellers of the expensive products, or both."
The former vice president would further subsidize individual health insurance plans to a greater degree than the government did under Obama. (Biden has promised to implement a "public option," a step further than Obama went.) He also wants to tackle energy and the environment with an array of subsidies and mandates; the former will impose new costs on taxpayers, the latter on employers.
The researchers conclude that their projections are "conservative." Apparently, direct tax hikes don't tell the entire story.

The Unspeakable Corruption of Joe Biden
BY STEPHEN GREEN OCT 22, 2020 2:10 PM ET

The latest stories detailing the financial corruption of Joe Biden come as no shock to anyone with open eyes. But there is one story of the deepest kind of corruption that until today no one has told, or perhaps even realized — the kind of moral corruption that, once acknowledged, may haunt you.
The latest revelation of Biden’s financial corruption comes from Hunter Biden’s former “business associate,” Tony Bobulinski.
Last night, Bobulinski released a statement claiming that “the former vice president was a willing and eager participant in a family scheme to make millions of dollars by partnering with a shady Chinese Communist firm,” according to NY Post columnist Michael Goodwin and other news outlets who haven’t spent the last week studiously avoiding perhaps the biggest story of financial corruption in American presidential election history.
Previously I’ve written that Joe Biden is a villain straight out of an Ayn Rand novel: A scheming mediocrity with no talent other than for gaming a crooked system.
Despite the millions involved, and from sources as dubious as Communist China and Eastern European kleptocrats, a man’s willingness to grab some easy money when the grabbing is good… isn’t atypical.
Sadly.
But as far as I’m concerned, it’s the risks that Biden puts his own son through that reveal the true rot at the center of his character.
I’m not speaking of possible jail time, either.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the tragedies that have struck the Biden family, I’ll give you the quick and dirty rundown.
Back in 1972, Biden lost his first wife, Neilia, and their baby daughter in a car accident:
Curtis Dunn was driving the tractor-trailer that collided with the car driven by Biden’s first wife, Neilia. Neilia was carrying their 13-month-old infant daughter with her, and young sons Beau and Hunter were in the car, too. They were on their way to buy a Christmas tree when the accident occurred. Police at the time made the determination that Mrs. Biden drove into the path of the oncoming truck, possibly because she was looking the wrong way at a stop sign. Neilia and the girl died of their injuries, despite Dunn’s attempts to provide first aid, and the Bidens’ sons were also hurt very badly.
Biden spent years claiming — with zero evidence — that Dunn was drunk. In fact, Neilia turned right at a stop sign without checking for oncoming traffic.
For our VIP supporters: Chins Up, Buckaroos: Donald Trump Is Going to Win
A few years ago, Biden would lose one of his surviving sons, Beau, to brain cancer.
I can scarcely imagine burying one of my children, much less both of them. But it’s nearly impossible to comprehend what Biden has done and is doing in the years after the deaths of two of his own.
You might think that after such loss, Biden would pay special attention to the welfare of the only surviving child of his first marriage.
You would be wrong.
I’ve seen serious addiction up close. The kind of addiction that first leads to absences, then to sudden re-appearances to beg for forgiveness — and money. The kind of addiction that destroys relationships through lies, through theft, through neglect, and worse.
When addiction reaches that stage, there are usually only two possible outcomes: The addict either hits bottom and cleans up their act, or they die.
There is no doubt in my mind, having seen such behavior from much too close, that Hunter is on that path.
The only way to help a fellow human being — in this case, a sole surviving son — is to stop enabling them.
It isn’t easy, cutting a parent or a child off from everything but your love. But it’s either that or they die.
Joe Biden, having stood over the graves of two of his children, let — or forced? — his remaining son to become his bagman.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going easy on Hunter: I believe he belongs in prison every bit as much as he belongs in a 12-step program.
The millions Hunter has raked in on his own and his father’s behalf have made them rich while enabling his addictions.
A father with any kind of concern for his child’s welfare would have cut Hunter off from “family business,” as they say in The Godfather, and stuck him in rehab.
Instead, Père Biden seems content to watch Hunter commit slow-motion suicide, so long as the easy money keeps coming in.
That isn’t the petty corruption of a man who sees a chance to grab some questionable money, then takes it. That’s the deep moral stain of a man who would sacrifice his own son on the altar of Mammon.

Fox News says you got it wrong.
If you don't believe Fox News, you are probably sane, but when it comes to trashing Joe Biden they love to do that, but not this time.

I quit working at shop rite and now I make $65-85 per/h. How? I’m working online! My work didn’t qwe exactly make me happy so I decided to take a chance on something new after 4 years it was so hard to quit my day job but now I couldn’t be happier So i try use.
Here’s what I do…>>Easy work to Home
I found a video where Tony Bobulinski gave his statement on that subject.
Point one: At no time did he even express any real involvement by Joe Biden.
Point two: Every thing involving Joe Biden at all happened after he was out of office, with no expectation of ever being back in office again.
IOW, all BS!

How do you not even mention biden has promised to undo the the tax cuts under trump?
Oh he'll cut taxes for me! He'll whip that SALT deduction back into play as quickly as he can. My taxes increased by 4% that year.
That is the ONLY reason I won't be completely depressed by the Harris presidency.
Saying Biden will increase taxes kind of implies he’s ending Trump’s tax cuts. I can see why you have no sense of humor. You’re pathetically literal. Literally.
The article specifically stated if Biden sticks to his campaign plan no one under $400,000 will receive a tax increase. However, Biden also promises to end Trump's tax cuts, which did also apply to people making under $400,000. Thus they would receive a tax increase if Biden follows through with his other promises. Reason didn't mention this but did repeat his falsehood that his tax plan would only raise taxes on those making over $400,000. Since you don't seem to understand the fact that Biden's two promises are contradictory and Reason didn't mention this fact, you seem to be the fairly pathetic one, riding to the rescue of reason while obviously not even understanding the issue. Good job there. Keep up the good work, bucko.
Well fuck me for making a comment with insufficient information. Obviously I’m a terrible human being.
You ridiculed Jesse for an entirely accurate statement he made and called him pathetic based upon you lack of understanding and incomplete information. Not sure what that makes you, that is for you to decide. But you passive aggressive rejoinder to having you misinformed take pointed out is fairly hyperbolic sophomoric trope.
It wasn't ridicule. He was just wrong as usual.
Finally. Some truth from sarcasmic. Try reading the article next time sweetie.
So broken.
#sad
Actually, the tax increase should be for a lot lower level than $400K/yr.
A tax of 40% would leave them with well over $200K, even before allowing for tax exemptions and deductions. 30% on the whole thing would not be unreasonable.
So now you think this article was a comedy satire piece? You're broken. And what you and chipper call comedy isn't comedy. It is insipid talking points. You just pretend it is comedy to hide your stupidity. The problem is your comments are in the open for everyone to see.
"The researchers hone in on Obama's stringent health care rules, which effectively barred "low cost, high deductible, limited coverage health insurance plans," and his telecom regulations, which were supposed to establish net neutrality. "Forcing people to buy the highest quality and most expensive product, or none at all," they write, "lowers economic efficiency, or redistributes from consumers to the sellers of the expensive products, or both."
Ahh yes, it was clearly terrible Obama didn't let insurers charge money for absolutely shit plans that wouldn't have covered anything and would've not only drained people of monthly premiums but then left them high and dry when they did have something go wrong.
Ok then..
I swear, the "freedumb" crowd just wants the freedom to die in the most pitiful way possible.
A high deductible health insurance plan is a way to reduce monthly payments for the consumer, while covering the major risks (i.e. the ones that might kill you or cost you a lot of money). It's exactly what insurance is supposed to be for -- covering risks you can't cover out of normal savings.
The concept of insurance is beyond the capability of progressives to understand. To them, "insurance" means someone else pays for it all.
I used to have a catastrophic plan that that covered anything catastrophic. It was literally $5 a month (my employer paid another $5). As a kid starting out it was fantastic. Then they made those plans illegal and cadillac plans mandatory and it all turned to shit.
Before Obama I had insurance that paid for stuff. Now my plan costs the same but it has a ten thousand dollar deductible. After paying into my HSA to cover the deductible my costs have doubled.
See what happens when you stop attempting comedy? Some of the things you say are actually accurate. Kudos buddy.
When I want your approval I’ll fuck your mom.
That $10 thousand deductible is what your insurance company did to you.
Nothing in the ACA requires that.
I don't recall anything in the ACA that requires any deductible at all.
So instead you force people to buy plans they can't afford, and then tax them for not being able to afford it
And you call us the dumb ones...
That's not "Obama" plans, that's the plan you chose to get.
The ACA does not provide insurance, just regulates it. You can get as good as you can afford, but you can get lower level plans for a lot less.
Shoulda been one level of coverage.
"And you call us the dumb ones…"
Ok, if you insist we will.
" it was clearly terrible Obama didn’t let insurers charge"
Yes it was.
Hint: Libertarians
Yes. Instead obama plans take roughly 12k of out of pocket costs to begin to utilize the expensive paid for plans.
The customer making poor choices isn't an issue the requires Government force.
I had one of those "absolute shit plans", I liked my "absolute shit plan", Obama said "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan", and then he took it away from.
The only absolute shit here is you and your comment.
Obama did not take your plan away from you. Look at the law, it clearly states your insurance company can grandfather your plan.
However, Obama could not *REQUIRE* them to do that.
That is where the failure on that was.
Did you ever read the Affordable Care Act? It was online months before it was passed. I did, miserable thing reading any law, but I did it.
What you are complaining about IS covered in the act, but your insurance company had the right to chose to dump you.
obama and the dems said fuck you, you are too dumb to realize what we are doing. they don't outlaw fracking, they just regulate it to death; same thing with health insurance
Yeah you are a moron. I had one of those shit plans. My employer paid the entire premium for me, and I only had to pay like $30 a month to ensure my family of 4. Every year, the company deposited $1500 into my HSA. So compared to the alternative PPO, I was already ahead by about $3500 per year. There was only one year where I ended up having to pay out of my HSA more than I was given by my company.
Today I have that same HSA, but the plan inside it costs $75/month for JUST ME. Nevertheless my account has $30,000 today and gains with the stock market.
Destroying the HSA/HD plans was the worst thing that Obamacare did.
I'm no fan of Obamacare, but the fact is that those high deductible plans had lifetime limits that kept getting lower and lower. With a low lifetime limit, that means a week in the hospital from a car accident or such, throws you into asset seizure or complete bankruptcy. They'll come after you.
I'm exhausted from the real topic of healthcare, which is inflation. Healthcare inflation is off the rails.
I had a minor surgery a couple months ago. Twenty nine thousand dollars. Eighteen thousand to use the operating room for forty five minutes. Twelve hundred for another forty five minutes in the recovery room. Where does the money go?
Ten years ago, I had a major health event. Big-time surgery, five hours in the OR. I was lucky. Another week in the hospital, post-surgery. Two month home convalescence, afterwards.
List cost (all in): 103,000
Insurance paid a lot a lot less, but at least 60 grand.
My cost: $100
This is what is wrong with our healthcare system.
I fully recovered.
I've always thought a deductible should kick in as an AGI percentage.
Why? Costs don't change because someone makes more money.
A flat rate based on AGI (with teeth), is superior to the progressive based Obamacare policies we have now. Everyone will be in the same "hit to my income" boat for healthcare. Some de-regulation would go a long way also.
A hypothetical based on pre or post-ACA ( it doesn't work with the ACA law because there are too many hyperinflating mandatory "COVERED" tests, services): A flat deductible incentivizes lower income people to join everyone else to shop or demand transparency in the entire system (shopping create competition to lower prices). Price transparency is a first step that we should have hit 20 years ago.
Complications cost money. Complications in illness or injury or in economics.
Simplicity is much more effective and less expensive.
"Where does the money go"? Probably one of Hunter and Jim Biden's private equity firms that owns the hospital group. The investors being Chicoms and Russian $launderers.
Chicoms and Russians are bankrolling Trump, not the Bidens.
Why do you think Trump has refused to do a thing about Russia paying the Taliban to kill US military in Afghanistan?
BTW, that is treason, by the definition in the constitution.
AMEN
And yet premiums and deductibles are both higher than at any time in history. Thank you based Obama!
When you end up with diabetes from your massive obesity and lose your foot to neuropathy-induced gangrene while you're on a waiting list for treatment, you can lecture us on the glorious success of OHIP, cytotoxic.
Waiting lists? Where? My wife has had multiple medical problems, had practically zero waits while covered by Medicare.
Oh, and our unbelievably expensive insulin is killing people in this country because they have to ration it. When my late wife ran out, on a visit to Gloucester Mass, years back, I went to a local drug store and bought a bottle and paid with a check. No big deal. Now Big Pharma is killing people in this country.
Your confusion is that you think of Obamacare as "insurance"; it is not insurance. Insurance covers rare, unexpected large expenses, not routine care. Car insurance doesn't pay for car maintenance, for example.
Obamacare is a progressive tax that redistributes contributions from healthy high income earners in order to give poorer people better medical care than they could afford. Even at that, it's a rip-off, covering only 70% of your medical costs in return for $6000+ annual costs.
Medicare/Medicaid is an even bigger ripoff.
Insurance covers whatever you insure. When I was working my insurance covered most care anyone in my family needed, until my late wife had a stroke, then we got pushed close to bankruptcy.
That was long before the ACA, and insurance covered low level medical care quite well, and high cost care very poorly.
And yes, you can buy insurance to cover repairs on your car.
Insurance does a lousy job of covering major medical problems, which is why 50% of all bankruptcies in this country involve medical problems. That doesn't happen in industrialized democracies with Universal Health Care. Which is all the other industrialized democracies.
Universal health care, on the level of Switzerland or Sweden or Japan would save this country aprox $1trillion a year, while fixing all the problems with our health care system that I can think of.
AMEN!
Biden has already promised to raise taxes on people making less than 400K, by capping 401k deductions.
Yep, and our business (as most small business) will stop matching and offering the plans, as they will be high cost to administer. He is going to crash the stock markets, employment and the ability for middle class young people, employed by, or wanting to start-up to save for retirement.
Joe Biden is a fucking criminal.
The problem with promising not to tax the middle class is that it never comes with a promise not to define the middle class downward.
The poor don't have the money, there aren't enough rich suckers. so the taxes ALWAYS fall on the middle class. And Democrats are always raising taxes to fund their continual spending increases. The middle class WILL see tax hikes under Biden. Under Trump, probably not but they will see inflation skyrocket as he handwaves the massive spending increases away. But at least he gives a reach around. Thank gawd almighty, a reach around at last!
"Under Trump, probably not but they will see"
Buy gold and get rich then, speculator.
Bitcoin up 15% this week.....
Betting against the dollar is working just fine.
I'm libertarian, but I can grudgingly accept a safety net for the truly unfortunate. The problem is that our government has decided to solve problems for everybody (SS, Medicare) rather than the truly unfortunate. And so, as you say, there aren't enough rich people to provide these services for the ENTIRE country.
Thus we end up in the terrible position of people the middle class paying the worst business (government) to provide services for them.
How did you ever get that confused?
Social Security and Medicare are wonderful successes. Before social security the elderly were the poorest group in this country. Now, even with a huge percentage of Social Security recipients having no other source of income, the elderly, last I looked were the richest.
Of course, a lot of that likely comes from the ultra rich tending to be older. Still, lifting the poorest half raised the whole group to a new level.
Medicare is such a raging success, that the only thing better would be full national health care. The US spends aprox 18% of our GDP on health care, or did before Covid, now it's probably higher.
Among the other industrialized democracies it's closer to 12% of GDP. I use Japan and Switzerland as my preferred references, as neither has Single Payer, ans Switzerland has a significantly higher per capita GDP, and Japan is significantly lower. Both about 12% of GDP. Sweden has a GDP about 20% lower, but health care costs 50% lower per capita.
The US spends aprox $3 Trillion a year on health care, and has the worst delivery of care among the industrialized democracies. The difference of paying 12% of GDP would mean a savings of aprox $1 trillion a year.
All that with 100% coverage, no medical bankruptcy, much lower malpractice costs, and overall better health.
Please explain, how is it harder to pay less than to pay more and get less?
If substantial revenues could be raised by only taxing high income earners, one would think that Europe would do precisely that. But they realize that the only way to raise the 30% to 40% of GDP in tax revenues that they do is to tax middle and lower income earners much more than we do in the U.S. I think very few leftists realize how much higher taxes are for the lower income groups than they are in the U.S., and those that do realize that proposing middle class tax increases to match European tax rates would be political suicide. The leftists want to spend like they do in Europe, but do not want to tax the way they do. Until the left reconciles these conflicting tax and spending policies, it's trillion dollar deficits into eternity. Also of note is that the left always ignores the VAT and the fact that goods cost much more in Europe than they do in the U.S.
Last I looked we were taxing at the 30% level. And the poor in this country are in much worse shape than the poor in other developed countries. Last I looked the total tax rate was higher for the very poor in this country than the very rich.
With 1% holding 1/3rd of all wealth, and 10% holding 2/3rds of all wealth, and the bottom 50% holding 2% of all wealth, where do you think they are going to come up with the money to do anything?
Or tax rates need to be much more progressive. If you ever looked at the Laffer curve you might notice, it shows the optimum point for raising revenue to be 50%.
Europe has higher top tax rates than the US, and higher incomes in the middle class. So, all in all, they win.
The US has a much higher level of income inequality than Europe does. Lower life expectancy, far more poverty and crime, so, just how are we better off?
As per my usual statement, fuck the left and the democrats to hell.
Sounds like 4.9 million people just need to learn to code.
"Joe Biden's Economic Policies Would Cost the Economy 4.9 Million Jobs by 2030"
And still gets the endorsement of the Reason staff.
"economic policies" lol
Overheard at Reason HQ:
"We haven't written anything on our supposedly core issue in a year of election coverage. Binion give me something we can point to after the election to deflect the criticism we'll get. You have ten minutes."
LOL
Biden is far better than Drumpf on the most important economic issue of all — immigration. Any competent Koch-funded economist will tell you this.
#OpenBordersWillFixEverything
I appreciate your consistency.
"If he takes the White House and sticks to his present platform, it appears to be true."
He has said he will repeal the Trump tax cuts on day one.
The Trump tax cuts impacted 80% of taxpayers, including a whole bunch that make less than $400,000.
Reversing those cuts will raise taxes on a whole bunch of taxpayers making less than $400,000.
Basement Bunker Biden is lying.
*displays shocked face*
"median-income households would make $6,500 less"
Probably not a big deal if we're talking 2030 dollars given how fast they'll be printing money to pay for everything. Probably won't even be a full tank of gas in a Prius plug-in. Assuming gasoline is still legal of course.
Look on the bright side, though: the media will stop screeching about every neurotic fear they can think of about the president, and may turn their attention to matters that aren't completely ridiculous.
Hey all of ye Reasonoid readers! Do NOT bother to read this article! Do NOT bother to read (or read about) ANY links, facts, or logic contained in this article and-or video! Do NOT bother to trouble your pretty little heads about silly factual details gathered by useless Reason-writer eggheads!
Because I, the SMARTEST ONE, can “summarize” it ALL for you! Here it is, above article summarized: “Senile Mackerel Snapper Bad”!
(/Sarc, revenge for moronic “summaries” about “Orange Man Bad”)
Hope sarcasmic realizes this is what he sounds like when doing comedy.
I hope that JesseSPAZ can find JesseSPAZ's long-lost heart! Try talking to the Wizard of Oz maybe? Maybe at the VERY least, you could find your long-lost brain?
I began receiving higher dividends from investments as soon as the corporate tax rate went down. When Biden increases those rates, I expect dividends will decrease. Thus, there are millions of Americans making less than $400,000 per year who will see their annual income (and their 401K pension plan values) reduced because of Biden's tax increases. But the election will be decided by low information dudes who hear only one thing: "Biden's tax increases don't affect me."
So you’re saying that when those companies decrease dividends, the cash they were going to use for those dividends is going to disappear? That increased cash within the company will increase the value of the company and the share price. So just sell some shares to make up for the dividends.
Where did you learn your accounting?
I’ll spell it out for you, Mr. Tibbs. Biden plans to increase taxes. Taxes (payroll and income taxes) are paid with cash. With cash being diverted to the government - which clearly knows how to spend money better than businesses and individuals - there will be less cash leftover to pay dividends, increase wages, make investments, put into banks, etc.
Biden's plan isn't to tax dividends, it is to tax corporate profits, reducing how much shareholders can gain; it doesn't matter whether it's via dividends or capital gains.
(In addition, Biden also plans to increase taxes on dividends and capital gains.)
This is interesting but I have also note that economists are starting to a say that Biden will be better for the overall economy. Yes taxes will likely go up but a Biden Administration promises more stability. It is also worth noting that Biden was part of an administration that brought the economy back from a deep recession. President Trump was handed a good economy, did little to improve that economy*, and eventually through incompetency drove the economy into a recession.
* - while the economy improved it was far below what was promised.
Man, I didn’t realize that Trump forced all of those governors to shut down their economies. I guess he IS the tyrant you’ve been warning us of the last four years!
Well had you been paying attention to the news you would learn that the effects of failed planning and poor leadership. When your a Governor, a healthcare worker, an average person and the guy in the White doesn't have your back there is not much you can do. When the guy in the White House is telling just deal with it, there is not much you can do.
Well the American people can do something we can fire the guy in the White in November and get a leader.
States and state governors are responsible for disaster preparedness and public health at the state level. And the average person is responsible for their own disaster preparedness. None of those are functions of the federal government.
Yes, it's obvious you want a Fuhrer. We can only hope that Americans won't fall for your fascist ideology, because if they do, the country is done for.
Yes, the same kind of "stability" that the socialist nations in Eastern Europe had: low crime, science-based governance, and civil discourse in the media.
And like the socialists and fascists before them, Democrats themselves are responsible for the unrest in the country, on top of sabotaging our economy for political gain.
He was part of an administration that turned what should have been a six month recovery into years upon years of stagnation. Obama and Biden's incompetence on the economy was only surpassed by their uttter and complete incompetence on foreign policy.

Bidens "gun safety"(tm) plan
https://joebiden.com/gunsafety/
would require any "high capacity" magazine (which is undefined but has in the past meant over 10 rounds) to be registered under the national firearm act. So, that's a license to possess just like you for a machine gun. You'd have to register each magazine at a cost of $200 or "sell the weapons to the government". Several of the guns I've used to teach actual gun safety came with 15 or 30 round removable magazines. So, at my house that's a conspiracy (if I still had those arms) to commit felony theft. And nationally a -massive- new tax. I talk to friends who have similar magazines in similar quantities and plan to vote Biden. And I honestly try to understand, how they could do this. But it seems like the conversation swims through denial (show them the web page) into "it doesn't matter" and I'll just hide mine at just neck breaking speed. I'm a law abiding person, I've donated my time over decades to teach solid home firearms safety curriculum and ... I just don't have that kind of money.
As a second issue, those magazines are not identifiable. Everything covered under NFA now, has serial numbers. So even if you did follow a law like this (an abridgement if irkba in the Second Amendment) how could you show the device was registered, if you wanted to?
We have to stop allowing the political parties to bring up candidates like this. We have to stop voting dangerous nuts into power.

Before we can even think about how to fix the US healthcare system, we need to figure out why it costs $10,000 to have your appendix removed, when it's only $100 to have your dog spayed.

Excellent article, and I'm in full agreement.
But please, for the love of all that's holy, stop using "hone in" when you mean "home in." Be better than the idiots out there. To "hone" something is to sharpen it.

Thanks Obama.
I’m fortunate in that my employer pays a large portion of my premiums, though what I put into my HSA to cover my ten thousand dollar deductible makes up the difference.
With real Universal Health Care you would be covered now, and have damn little out of pocket.
UBI is just a fancy word for I get to retire early!
All that money your employer pays for your premiums is actually part of your wages that you never see, just like payroll taxes. It is just part of the cost of having you as an employee.
and you'd be paying at least 20% more in taxes, and waiting months to be seen by a doctor
