Juror in Breonna Taylor Case Sues for Right To Reveal What Really Happened in Court
Plus: Presidential candidates take the stage tonight, the most-banned books of the last decade, and more...

A member of the grand jury that did not indict Louisville police for Breonna Taylor's murder is now suing for the release of court transcripts and related records. The unidentified jury member's motion, filed Monday, says it was filed so that "the truth may prevail."
Specifically, the motion asks the court "to release any and all recordings of the grand jury pertaining to what is commonly known as the Breonna Taylor case," and "to make a binding declaration that Grand Juror, and any additional members of this grand jury, has the right to disclose information and details about the process of the grand jury proceedings … and any potential charges presented or not related to the events surrounding that matter."
The motion also takes aim at Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, accusing him of "using the grand jurors as a shield to deflect accountability and responsibility."
The motion "strongly suggests that Attorney General Cameron's public comments contradict what was presented to the grand jury," tweeted The Washington Post's Radley Balko. "It essentially accuses Cameron of hiding behind grand jury secrecy requirements while misleading the public about evidence the grand jury actually saw."
Last week, the jury returned charges against just one of the three officers involved in Taylor's killing. The charges—three counts of wanton endangerment for Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) Detective Brett Hankison—were not for Taylor's death but for potential danger Hankison could have caused to those in the vicinity.
Hankison "was arraigned Monday in Jefferson Circuit Court, pleading not guilty. He is free on $15,000 bond," notes the Louisville Courier Journal.
The judge at Hankison's arraignment also ordered that a "recording of the grand jury proceedings" must be filed with the court by this Wednesday.
Cameron, who had previously refused to release these records, said in a Monday night statement that he will comply with the order for them to be released. "The release of the recording will also address the legal complaint filed by an anonymous grand juror," he said. "We have no concerns with grand jurors sharing their thoughts on our presentation because we are confident in the case we presented."

Curious where this idiot has standing to sue.
Because it was be racist if s/he didn't have standing, or couldn't sue. Duh.
Seriously though, I thought the point of a secret Grand Jury proceeding was that it was, well, secret. Evidence that wouldn't and couldn't be shown in open court could be used to help the GJ panel make their decision. Revealing what was said goes directly against that idea.
Besides, what vital piece of evidence is soooooo important that it would change people's minds about the existing indictment, or decisions not to indict?
Maybe it was cash payments, like buying votes in Minneapolis.
What is it with the left and their insistence on destroying existing norms if you do not get the outcome you want?
Or maybe I've got that reversed. Norms are only acceptable to the left if they deliver the outcomes they desire.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Is%E2%80%93ought_problem
Yup but any American cannot sue to enforce Presidential qualifications as required by the US Constitution.
The Courts are a joke.
The rule of law is a myth.
Thanks to Democrats we mostly have Rule of Man.
Rule of Law is still around or the Socialists would be in charge.
You miss the point of the "The Rule of law is a myth".
Genuine "rule of law" as that term is used is not possible under any conditions. No matter who is in charge any how much they want to support the "rule of law", the rule of man is all that exists.
"Curious where this idiot has standing to sue."
So, in the eyes of right-wing nut-jobs, a general public interest (in most cases, excluding foreign intelligence matters and military matters) in knowing WHAT it is, that Government Almighty is doing with their freedoms, and their tax money, is a silly illusion?
Good to know, I'll have to keep that in mind!
No actually, standing is a legal term.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standing_(law)#:~:text=In%20law%2C%20standing%20or%20locus,party's%20participation%20in%20the%20case.
I suspect SQRSLY was focused more on the “idiot” part of the statement than the “standing” part. I’ll even bet that SQRLSY already knew what “standing” meant.
"SQRLSY One
July.2.2020 at 5:11 pm
Port-a-potties ARE buffets"
Lol keep stanning him Mike lolol
Not knowing what standing is in a legal since when discussing GJ materials makes one an idiot.
Before the American Civil War, slaves had no "standing" to sue their owners. So this way TOTALLY cool, according to right-wing nut-jobs like JesseSPAZ!
Standing is a basic legal concept. Sorry you didn't know that. I try to idiot-proof my posts but you are, truly, an exceptional idiot.
And the law is ALWAYS right, so long as it agrees with right-wing preconceptions, then? We the public SHOULD NOT be allowed to know what Government Almighty is doing with our freedoms and our taxes?
uea, in a legal proceeding, the law is always right. dumbass
All must OBEY! NashTiger would have made an EXCELLENT NAZI prison guard! AND an excellent USA soldier forcing the Native Americans along their way, on the Trail of Tears!
"And the law is ALWAYS right, so long as it agrees with right-wing preconceptions, then?"
Would you prefer courts just wing it? Seems like a bad idea to me.
"We the public SHOULD NOT be allowed to know what Government Almighty is doing with our freedoms and our taxes?"
Given the secrecy of grand juries, you'd need some incredibly compelling evidence to reveal it publicly. That has not remotely been provided.
Oh Great Legal Scholar:
If Government Almighty FORCES me to buy Reason Magazine, under YOUR preferred policies, would I have "standing" to sue?
So leftist “false flag” commenters will inundate Reason-dot-com with shitloads of PROTECTED racist comments, and then pissed-off readers and advertisers and buyers (of Reason magazine) will all BOYCOTT Reason! Any right-wing idiots like Damikesc will then FORCE people to support Reason, so as to nullify the attempts at boycotts! THAT is your ultimate authoritarian “fix” here!!!
“Now, to “protect” Reason from this meddling here, are we going to REQUIRE readers and advertisers to support Reason, to protect Reason from boycotts?”
Yup. Basically. Sounds rough. (Quote damikesc)
(Etc.)
See https://reason.com/2020/06/24/the-new-censors/#comments
You appear to be genuinely insane.
So, sane people advocate using Government Almighty FORCE to MAKE people buy magazines?
Why is the jury sworn to secrecy but the prosecutor isn't?
>ham sandwich
*vomits*
Just for YOU, Rabbi, we can make it be a HAM AND CHEESE sandwich!
They have yet to indict the ham sandwich that killed Cass Elliot.
Funny this came up in a discussion with one of my colleagues just yesterday; Janis Joplin died of a heroin overdose, Jimi Hendrix of an accidental sedative overdose [aspiration], and Mama Cass chose the ham sandwich route.
Worse musician death?
Mama Cass by ham sandwich (apocryphal)
Bon Scott choking on his own vomit in the back of a Renault Le Car.
Michael Hutchins from autoerotic asphyxiation?
Brain Jones by Misadventure?
The various plane crashes sound like bad ways out if you're not killed or rendered unconscious immediately by the impact. Airplanes burn. Really easily. So do the people stuck within in a crash.
Not sure that's what he was going for.
Well then it's tied between SRV and Hendrix.
You... really don't understand the game do you?
No. I guess I don't.

The worst rock and roll death is a tie between Teen Angel and Leader of the Pack.
Last Kiss is the one that always got me from the first time I actually listened to the lyrics as a kid.
I'll offer up Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper dying in a plane crash.
I can gaurentee the juror has a book option with a nice cash offer if they can talk about what happened and what evidence was presented
President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden will take the stage together in Cleveland tonight...
The stage being designated a geriatric care facility.
Is it true that there will be Life Alert buttons on the podiums?
Not to worry...They'll have some Depends handy for Slow Mo Joe.
Is Bill Clinton going to be there?
Will fat, female Democrat staffers be there to assist Uncle Joe?
At this point what difference does it make?
Trump's approval has fallen, and it can't get up.
geriatric care facility
Does that mean they're shipping in all the covid patients?
Cuomo wrings hands.
I think you mean Pilate, I mean Cuomo, washes his hands.
and blames Florida, just like Biden will
I know a good number of people here expect Biden to stroke out a la Ron Paul on the stage tonight. All I have to say is, don't get cocky. If you only read/listen to the clips circulated in the conservative blogs, you'd expect him to get lost on the podium. But when he is lucid, Biden is comparable to Trump with his rhetorical kill shots.
Back in 2012, when Biden debated Ryan, the republican came out with a sincere, fact based argument about why we need to deal with social security. Biden just looked at the camera and essentially said, "That was a bunch of Bullshit, and they are trying to steal your retirement. I won't let them do it."
When Biden says he is going to "Fact Check" Trump, it isn't that he is going to do complex math, or recite labor statistics. It is that he is going to shake his head, blink his blue eyes, look at the camera, and say with that feigned, sincere, protective daddy voice, "Trump is lying to you, and I will protect you." And he will rely on the Washington Post to explain why, the next day, that what Trump said was "True but Effectively False" or whatever.
I would not bet against your position.
It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it works out for him.
On a side note, 2012 seems like 50 years ago in Biden years.
50 years ago in Biden years he was still in office
That, plus the massive blood transfusion that Biden is getting right now.
If that's Biden's plan, he is getting crushed.
But when he is lucid, Biden is comparable to Trump with his rhetorical kill shots.
Falling back on WaPo to fact check your opponent the next day is hardly a kill shot.
Biden can find his way to the podium, anyone who says he can't is joking or lying. That said, the debate, any debate, is Trump's to lose.
If Biden lashes out as he has in even meet and greets earlier this year, he will be in trouble.
Lying dog faced pony soldier!
You're full of shit and I'm going to kick your ass!
I think you hit on Trump's best.strategy. Provoke an outburst.
Yep All Trump has to do is mention Joe's dead sons name once, even in a good way, and old Joe will go on the rampage.
Biden'll be awake and likely lucid for the debate. Jiggering his sleep cycle that he wakes up at 7-8 PM now, will do that. I've no doubt that Biden is capable of stumbling through some memorized or cribbed talking points for 90 minutes.
Trump's job is to rattle Biden enough that he can't stay with repeating only his canned answers. Make Biden go off script. Which would likely work as well as an amateur Everest climber walking off trail.
Should be interesting.
Seems fair. It often takes a day to decide what Trump said in incomplete sentences and word salad, and then there’s a good chance that in the next 24 hours, Trump will make another statement saying the opposite of whatever he said the night before.
A good strategy for Biden would be the equivalent of his “hiding in the basement” campaigning. Say as little as possible, and let Trump hang himself.
The biggest challenge will be dealing with the subject of Hunter, but the questioning may be scripted enough he can avoid the topic.
Do you find, oh, 15 minutes out of the average day to think of something other than Trump?
Sad, isn’t it?
Antifa and BLM membership requirements and verification?
Year, what a loser. Bringing up Trump in a post about the presidential debates can only be a symptom of TDS.
No dumbass it's the hundreds of other times he does it.
Then criticize that. Why does every thread need to be full of insults and general shittiness? Why not just ignore him, or engage with comments as they come rather than making this a less pleasant space for everyone?
"Then criticize that"
He did, assfuck.
"Do you find, oh, 15 minutes out of the average day to think of something other than Trump?"
I mean when he does it, not every time you see his name. He's clearly not going to allow himself to be driven off by insults, so what is the point? Why do you come here to be shitty to people? There are plenty of interesting conversations to be had.
The really odd thing is that my comment was equally about Biden and Trump.
"The really odd thing is that my comment was equally about Biden and Trump."
Yes, it was; how Biden can win:
"A good strategy for Biden would be the equivalent of his “hiding in the basement” campaigning. Say as little as possible, and let Trump hang himself."
You lose again.
“how Biden can win”
There is something critical of Biden in my comment. See if you can spot it. Hint: it’s more subtle than “Biden is a senile, pedophile, poopyhead Marxist”.
Trump, you know, can always bring him up.
Trump can, but if none of the debate topics/questions naturally lead to Hunter, and Trump works Hunter in, anyway, Biden can more easily brush it off and “stay on point” with whatever topic they are supposed to be focusing on. And Trump will come off as a bit awkward.
Not saying it isn’t a huge thorny subject that Biden must deal with.
"Biden can more easily brush it off and “stay on point” "
Yeah telling Trump to stay on point will totally work.
Oh, you're envisioning Trump bringing Hunter up over and over during the debate. Yes, he could go there.
Interesting, now that the debates have happened, here is how it actually went down:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRE4GoulT3Y
- Trump worked it in, a little awkwardly.
- Biden seemed to have a prepared answer of dwelling on one positive point: "I'm proud of my son for overcoming his drug addiction."
- Trump helped Biden out a little by talking over him, so he couldn't speak.
- Wallace helped out Biden by going to another question.
I can't vote for the lefties, but Trump speak usually makes me sick. Teleprompter Trump may be even worse. I don't think he'll win the debate. If he attempts to get Biden on the defense by being offensive (meaning degrading or insulting) he'll actually lose support.
The "True but other reasons/context" is my favorite type of fact check as it isn't even a fact check. It is a narrative check. Wapo loves them.
"Back in 2012..."
8 years is a long stretch when you're approaching 80; just say'n.
He's approaching 560 in dog-faced pony soldier years.
Trump is only about three years younger than Biden. We are talking two, doddering old brains here.
Mentally, 15 years younger, but don't let any facts get in the way of your TDS.
Sounds like you have a bad case of BDS.
The left can't meme.
Wouldn’t know. I’m a libertarian, not a leftist.
"not a leftist."
So you just meme, argue, and behave like one.
Neat.
I guess so, Tulpa. Relative to a CACLL, like say loveconstitution1789, who posts about how he loves Trump, I am a lefty Marxist.
The white knight lies a lot, doesnt like facts, and always has citations fall off.
He secretly loves to hate Trump, so he thinks that I love Trump.
Yep, I bring up Biden at every opportunity, don't I?
Pathetic piece of shit...
I don’t keep track of your comments, but criticizing Biden is on the CACLL agenda here every day.
That’s fine. There are things to criticize about Biden. Just wonder why the CACLLs give Trump a free pass on the very same things.
"I don’t keep track of your comments"
no one believes you
"CACLL"
Aw being called the White Gripe upset you!
Hi, Tulpa! How's the kids?
How do you know what the facts are about Biden's and Trump's mental states? Trump is probably quicker on his feet, but I'm not convinced Biden is quite as far gone as people seem to think.
You or my lying eyes?
I basically agree with you except on one thing, Biden plays like a politician, so his "killshots" are tame comparatively. He looks great against other politicians, who themselves worry about overstepping in reply, but that isn't Trump.
It's like a kill shot in tennis vs. a kill shot with a dagger.
Lefties will never mention this but because of Trump directly or just because Trump President, Trump has effectively knocked out hundreds of Benedict Arnolds from our political system who might have some day caused untold harm to the USA.
Hillary, Jeff Flake, Romney, Comey, Joe Biden, Pelosi....
and say with that feigned, sincere, protective daddy voice, “Trump is lying to you, and I will protect you.”
He's too old and feeble to sell that.
Rely on the WaPo, run by another "tax chiseler"?
Late stage dementia.
However Joe's gaffes are off the table. Apparently they are Trump's fault.
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/sep/28/jill-biden-dismisses-husband-joes-gaffes-you-cant-/
Yeah, how can you possibly make fun of a senile, slack-jawed, drooling idiot?
Easy!
You just don't lead them so much.
That bitch thinks she's royalty
No, no, no. I don't want a debate stage. I want the Thunderdome!!! "Two geriatrics enter...One geriatric leaves." I would actually pay my taxes to see that!!
The American Library Association just put out a list of the "Top 100 Most Banned and Challenged Books" of the past decade.
Is a certain transphobic author's works on the list?
"Transphobic" doesn't mean what you think it means.
Enlighten us, Jeff.
I'm not Jeff. You may want to get your paranoid delusions under control.
Okay, now why does transphobic not mean what we think it means?
I hope he reads my mind next.
And most Karen's aren't named Karen.
Figure it out Jeff.
Yes Way, Ted is definitely not jeff. At least pay a little attention if you are going to play the stupid "everyone's a sock puppet" game.
Ok Jeff.
Shut the fuck up, LoneWacko!
Trans-phobic, trans-Atlantic, toe-may-doh, toe-mah-doh.
Au contraire...
JK Rowling on Twitter: why the Harry Potter author has been accused of transphobia on social media platforms
It will only let me post one link without sending the comment into moderation. I could post a dozen links that say the same thing.
If you want to say the label is a misnomer, then make a valid argument, otherwise you are just more noise.
Multiple links, preview, edit ... you people are never satisfied.
Here's a hit, Ted: almost all of Fist's comments are toungue-in-cheek.
How dare you. I'm an ally.
52. The Holy Bible?
I was amused to see 1984 on the list.
A lesson in irony?
At some point, progressives will have to cancel 1984 and Orwell. The charade that they are the side of freedom and the OTHER guys want to make an Oceania-like society cannot continue when progressives are literally arguing that 2+2 can equal 5. 1984 is essentially the playbook of the modern left, and we have done them the favor of carrying telescreens in our pocket everywhere we go.
Sure, because it is only the left that spies on our phones, and wants to control the information we consume. The right is totally innocent and never engages in the very same government overreach.
No, but in comparison, yes.
Like comparing a sweatdrop to the Pacific.
So you’ve dropped the moderate pretense officially right?
I literally just dropped a “bothsidesism”. That bolsters my moderate creds.
It really doesn't
Obvious gestures designed to defraud are now expected to be treated as genuine?
Just the left? The Patriot Act, FISA courts are a bipartisan effort.
The supporting and then subsequent toppling of ME regimes (we were always at war with Iraq, Taliban) has been a bipartisan effort.
You deserve the totalitarian leftism you shill for
Captain Underpants is just way beyond the pale.
Should be an interesting debate this evening, if you're into insult-fests.
Post-debate analysis pieces should be widely available by 8pm ET
No, YOUR mother!
"Today’s GOP is less libertarian than at any time that I’ve been involved in politics. It started to take a really bad turn around 2015 and hasn’t looked back. "
2015....lol, why that year???
Have we reached peak TDS yet?
That won't happen until Trumps second term begins. Until then there is the hope that if they just say enough bullshit, they'll convince people to change their vote. Once that hope is gone, the motivation to promote obvious fabrications as truth will disappear.
In 2015 there was still hope that Rand Paul would have a successful primary campaign.
That's not saying much. Rand Paul is still in the Senate. He still has influence on the GOP. Nothing changed with his status prior to 2015 and after 2015. He is exactly the same as he was prior to 2015.
His status probably is the same, but some people believed at the time that there was hope for Rand Paul to lead the party in a more libertarian direction. That hope disappeared with his early exit in the primaries, which, once again, provided conclusive evidence (hopefully for the last time) that the Republican Party is never going to be the party that decreases the size and scope of government.
Best just to give in to the totalitarians on the left then, huh?
When you look at who's "after Trump", Rand Paul is certainly on the short list.
the most interesting man in the Senate/libertarian moment Rand Paul?
Paul and Cruz were miles ahead of everyone else on the stage in the Republican primary debates. But voters don't go for intellect and command of the issues, they go for dominance.
Probably because the GOP talked a good game regarding fiscal conservatism under Obama and then promptly abandoned that idea once they started to regain power. Trump obviously doesn't care about debts or deficits and the GOP members of Congress have made it clear over the past 4 years that they were lying all along.
Paul Ryan ended up being all talk and then broke and cowered whenever the media went after him for any reduction in spending. Talking is never more than action. Paul Ryan was also inconsistent on breaking down regulations, which was unexpected. He talked a much bigger game than he actually played.
The Senate has never really been spend thrifts outside of a few commenting on spending.
The *entire* conservative movement has been all talk on fiscal sanity. The GOP base literally nominated Trump, a formerly blue state democrat who told Ryan to his face that he had no interest in dealing with SS, Medicare or the budget.
This isn't a strike against Trump- he was very transparent with his views. And the fact is that primary voters elected him as the candidate.
You cannot blame Ryan for that. He tried for years under a democratic president, and was hit hard for the shut downs. And then when the GOP had a chance to elect its candidate, it explicitly rejected the budget hawks and instead picked the populist who promised to increase the budget for the Military.
"You cannot blame Ryan for that. He tried for years under a democratic president, and was hit hard for the shut downs"
I can't blame Ryan for letting Obama punk him and then getting gun shy when he has the heat himself?
Fuck you with that.
"I can’t blame Ryan for letting Obama punk him and then getting gun shy when he has the heat himself?"
Were you even paying attention? He called Obama's bluff and the public OVERWHELMINGLY blamed republicans for it. He almost lost his job. He didn't get gun shy. He was shot for it.
And why? Because 25% of the country gives a shit about the budget, and the other 75% are fucking crazy. Ryan didn't sell out- he listened to the public who said they would rather the GOP keep national parks open than cut 1% off the budget.
"Were you even paying attention? He called Obama’s bluff and the public OVERWHELMINGLY blamed republicans for it."
And then he caved like a bitch.
"He almost lost his job. He didn’t get gun shy. He was shot for it"
His FUCKING JOB ISN'T TO STAY IN WASHINGTON and he didn't get shot he fucking sold out for power instead of doing his fucking job and FUCK YOU FOR SUCKING HIS FUCKING DICK for being a craven piece of shit.
You sure do make a persuasive argument there, buddy.
What is his job? Is it to represent the people? In that case, the people don't give a fuck about fiscal restraint, so that's that. Or is it to be an ideologue and strictly stick to principle?
So mass media = the people now?
What a joke
You cannot blame Ryan for that.
You can blame Hillary and the democrats for that. When the "other" option is so bad that Trump looks good on the fiscal side, well... what can you say.
No- that is bullshit. The GOP base elected Trump. Not Rand Paul. Not Cruz. They chose a populist, irrespective of Hillary.
Again, whether you like or hate Trump, you cannot blame our politicians for not giving a shit about the budget. Because the base elected him.
"I did not leave the Republican party, the Republican party left me,,,,,,by the curb,,,,on trash day" - Justin Amash
maybe he can be recycled?
LOL Amash. He's just not that into you, Reason. Or Libertarianism.
At least the Libertarian Party shitcanned thoughts of him as their Presidential candidate for 2020.
He seems like he is very invested in the Libertarian Party right now.
Hey everyone White Gripe is believing a self serving politicain!
Come mock and deride him endlessly!
Why give it what it wants?
Though I do enjoy watching the rest of you rhetorically beat it unmercifully.
Shut the fuck up Dee, you squawking bird
which will do wonders for their vote totals no doubt, nominating a professor no one ever heard of instead
They were getting one percent no matter what they did. This way, they can at least look at themselves in the morning.
Add Tom Massey to the list of House Members more Libertarian than Amash.
The Pro War neocons were way more libertarian for... reasons.
Notice unreason uses a common Communist tactic of changing the definition or common use of a term like "Libertarian" to make sure it means nothing.
Even if Libertarians disagree on exactly how tiny and limited government should be, they still want a tiny and limited government. Government that blatantly disregards the Constitution because it limits government is NOT okay to Libertarians.
What specific statement(s) or position(s) from Reason are you referring to?
Take your pick.
On Saturday, members of the group NXIVM...
Which of course is 69 in Roman numerals. Tee hee hee.
JK I KNOW IT'S SATANIC.
"I literally had the highest lifetime scores from multiple libertarian/conservative orgs, and none of it mattered anymore."
You know the old quip, put 435 libertarians in the same congressional hall and the only thing they'll ever agree on is that there's only one libertarian in the room.
Justin Amash is under the same mistaken impression as Reason that libertarian means supporting government employees, when they fabricate evidence against people he personally dislikes.
Meh, I like Amash. I think he went off the deep end with the whole impeachment thing, but I don't think that disqualifies him as a libertarian. Still better than the vast majority of Congress Critters out there.
Amash is no Libertarian.
He is a disgruntled ex-Republican turned Democrat.
Voting "No" on a bunch of bills is better than most politicians but his character really came out when he chose supporting the attempted coup plan of the Party of Slavery over Due Process.
Trump attempted you use the withholding of Congressionally-allocated foreign aid to extract a personal favor of benefit to his re-election campgain from a foreign leader.
An attempted coup that would make Pence the president is not much of a coup.
You lost that one Mike.
"Progs are inept" isn't much of a defense.
Your lack of vision is astounding.
Mikey, thanks to Democrats making such a big deal about that with their attempted coup, the Bidens will probably need some good lawyers when the indictments come down after Trump's reelection.
Not sure why that has anything to do with being libertarian or not. Libertarians can be wrong about shit too.
Same with Jorgensen's comments about BLM/anti-racism stuff. I disagree with what she said, but it doesn't contradict the basic tenets of libertarianism as far as I can see.
How the fuck does saying people must be defined as classes based on skin color not contradictory to libertarianism?
LOLwhut?! In a House that once had Ron Paul as a member?
Fuck, what did Reason ever see in this guy or Jeff Flake?
Resistance to Trump.
I'm pretty sure they noticed both of them well before Trump seemed like a plausible candidate for president.
I dunno. That they actually exhibited some libertarian principles.
But where are their notarized membership cards?
Amash literally has a Libertatian membership card now.
So does Weld and that dude is definitely NOT a Libertarian.
I may be late to the party but have you seen this?
https://www.projectveritas.com/news/caught-in-the-act-ballot-harvester-on-camera-exchanging-cash-for-general/
Sadly nothing will be gone. Omar checks all the progressive boxes. And Ellison owes the DNC for covering for his sexually assault charges soo..."Nothing to see here."
But remember, election fraud mostly never happens.
And mostly peacefully.
Reason fact-checking says it's all an optical illusion.
It only happens when we look for it. Good thing we almost never look for it.
Don't be bringing that shit around here, it is a known fact that voter fraud doesn't exist. Except for the massive voter fraud that Trump and the GOP is committing by demanding that only legitimate votes be counted.
Requiring ballots to be postmarked by election day is voter suppression, as is requiring that signatures match. Are poll workers trained in handwriting analysis? I think not.
Are you kidding?
"Its all about the benjamins baby"
There is also an active investigation into pay for ballots/harvesting in Texas from Biden's local campaign offices:
https://pjmedia.com/election/bryan-preston/2020/09/28/bidens-texas-political-director-other-democrats-accused-in-illegal-ballot-harvesting-scheme-n983458
They were clearly doing dry runs on this during the mid-terms. Remember Rubio calling out the Broward County election officials unloading ballots from POVs? I wouldn't be surprised if this is how Synema got her Senate seat in Arizona and Tester kept his in Montana as well.
You'd think after, what, 20 years of them pulling the "we found all these ballots in a closet/trunk of a car/government official's office" going back to Christine Gregoire in Washington and Al Franken in Minnesota that the Republicans would grow some balls and challenge each single ballot when these "lost ballots" start turning up--as in, going door to door to verify that each person actually voted the way they did.
It's not a surprise why the Democrats have an aneurysm and claim "voter disenfranchisement" at voter ID laws--they know damn well that voter ID makes it a lot harder to pull off this kind of fraud, where nursing home employees fill out ballots for the residents, for example.
I'm at the, 'Dip your Goddamned thumb in purple ink when you show up,' stage now when it comes to voting. One day. Show up. Vote. Or don't, but I'm done with the excuses.
Voting fraud gets treated like an attempt to steal billions of dollars. Seriously. Plug 1,000,000,000 USD into the Sentencing Guidelines to see what the Federal prison sentence should be. Enough of this shit.
If we cant have fair voting where only a single American gets a single vote, the Silent Majority will call this Republic off.
Controlling illegal immigration is the signal that Americans are fed up with being taken advantage of.
If Lefties wont play by the rules, then call off the rules (Constitution) and then there are no legal protections for Lefties anymore.
+10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Guess we should just stop holding elections and appoint Trump president for life.
Unlike Democrats, Trump does not want to be President for life.
He has shown quite a few signs that he would love to be President for life.
Your citations always fall off.
Caw caw!
How the hell did you come up with that complete utter bullshit straw man? Fuck nothing moderate about that. Normally I try and interact with you respectfully but that was complete and utter bullshit you just posted. Fucking hell.
Trump started a narrative that the Democrats are trying to perpetrate widespread voter fraud and steal the election. Trump fans here are feeding that narrative by cherry picking every story they can find about real or suspected or even made-up voter fraud, with, as far as I can tell, (a) no interest in voter fraud or suppression perpetrated by Republicans, (b) genuine concern about ensuring a partisan-neutral, fair election.
Intermittent fasting has generated buzz in weight loss circles for the past decade, but a new study suggests it might be more bad advice.
Everything they jokingly said is Sleeper will turn out to be true.
You mean the science isn’t settled?
Sure it is. The only way to lose weight is to consume fewer calories than you burn. It's been settled for about as long as humans have been capable of rational thought.
So, never?
You can be capable of something and still never actually do it.
Well, strictly speaking there is also amputation or liposuction.
"Intermittent fasting has generated buzz in weight loss circles for the past decade, but a new study suggests it might be more bad advice."
Until that study is studied and found to be bad advice, etc., ad nauseum.
"We have no concerns with grand jurors sharing their thoughts on our presentation because we are confident in the case we presented."
The defense rests. Never mind that you were supposed to be the prosecution.
Well put!
We knew he was a tax chiseler and a scoundrel before the Times story broke. We knew it before he became president, because he bragged about it on the campaign trail. If voters didn't care then, why would they start to now?
Because hashtags?
I'm sorry, but I am an incurably romantic match-maker! It would be an utter TRAGEDY if, through snarled communications, Leona Helmsley "never got the memo", and a pending match made in Heaven, was aborted! So... Paging Leona Helmsley?
Mash Letter from The Donald to Leona Helmsley
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Won’t you come here,
And join my crew?
Won’t you please join my Quest?
The honest taxpayers, to molest?
I like to collect babes, as if they were Cocker Spaniels,
You’d look quite nice, right next to Stormy Daniels!
You’d be quite sexy, in my YUUGE harem,
With my BIGLY contributors, I like to share ‘em!
“Taxes are for the little people”
For a campaign slogan, it sounds GREAT!
Won’t you help me fool the greedy sheeple?
To their suffering, you and I, we could masturbate!
Brad Parscale, my old campaign pal,
Wants to kill himself, what style!
Won’t you stay with me a while,
And be my campaign gal?
Fuck off, Sqrlsy.
Nice. I appreciate the recent Baker Act'd guy pointing out that SQRLSY's even more nuts than he is.
Are these Letterkenny references?
Sqrlsy's mom's mitt is actually a work of art. Like Salvador Dali's "Melting Clocks." But instead of melting clocks, it's melting salad bowls of off-pink ice cream.
Sqrlsy's life is so pathetic i ran a 15k to raise awareness for it.
With my BIGLY contributors, I like to share ‘em!
“Taxes are for the little people”
Hey Sqrls. When was the last time Biden donated his salary back to the federal government?
Hey right-wing nut-job:
WHEN is the last time that Der TrumpfenFuhrer VOLUNTARILY RELEASED HIS TAX RETURNS, like butt-tons of of past POTUS candidates have done?
https://www.kare11.com/article/news/politics/presidential-tax-returns-history/89-8323fd26-404b-428f-ad0b-5d4fd298cdb3
Read it and 'fess up that you're full of ideological shit! The Donald promised to do it, but never did! Gee, I wonder why?
Fuck off, Sqrlsy.
You didn't answer my question.
When is the last time you had your head examined for ideological lock-up?
Callling names huh, but you didn’t answer my question
Mamma NEVER calls names! GREAT for Mamma!
Answering your questions will NOT cure your ideological-mental lock-ups! Go suck wind!
Find your answers HERE: M. Scott Peck, The People of the Lie, https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0684848597/reasonmagazinea-20/
Fuck off, Sqrlsy.
Answer the question, Sqrls.
Has Bernie ever released his?
Because it's all they have left. The Democrats threw everything they had at Trump in 2016. That's why this looks like a rerun, it's literally just the 2016 playbook all over again.
The Donald's promises to "the little people" (circa 2016) are now revealed to be utter lies, THAT is what is different this time around! See details here, complete with The Donald's promises quoted:

Trump Just Lost Control of the Game
His tax returns dispel all his pretensions to wealth and sacrifice, and his reelection campaign is running out of time.
Fuck off, Sqrlsy.
Dude, ignore the troll. Interacting with him just encourages him to keep showing up.
That never works
As is shown by the persistence of Tulpa!
Fuck off, Sqrlsy.
So I was right.
Then ignore him anyway so that every comment he makes doesn't turn into another multi-page thread of pure shit that people have to scroll through.
like yours?
Nevermind. Sorry I assumed you were interested in anything other than being an asshole. Have a nice day.
Another link to another journalist who doesn't understand business taxes. Good work. You think you'd find at least one journalist who understands more than the 1040 EZ, but here you are.
I understand taxes. I also understand CORRUPTION, which was my main point here! Refute the facts that The Donald essentially BRIBED bankers, ideologically blinded fool!
Ok rhe fact is you said this
"SQRLSY One

Deutsche Bank’s ties to Donald Trump
The US president defends his biggest creditor, but the relationship is under fresh scrutiny
The Donald wined and dined bank big-wigs, in order to bribe them to piss away the money of fools who trusted banks, even though The Donald’s history of stiffing creditors was well known. There’s plenty more about this “out there”.
But of course, anyone who reports these kinds of facts, must be a MARXIST!!!
Mis-placed response. Refute the above. Also refute the Atlantic article, which shows (with quotes) that The Donald made tons of promises in 2016, to garner votes, to look out for "the little guy". Promises now shown to be based on lies!
Fuck off, Sqrlsy.
You fucked up the paywalled link again dummy.
Any more negatives need proving? Prove you dont eat shit
I don't think Markle's statement is all that inaccurate. What she gets wrong is that there's a whole lot of folks out there, myself included, that view "tax chiseling" as a positive.
Who is Mary Sparkle?
Ha, McArdle not Markle. Though I'm really not sure who either of them are, to be honest.
It also skips over the uncomfortable truth that is Trump; an admitted tax chiseler like Trump is objectively more moral than a lying tax chiseler like Sanders, Clinton, or Gore.
Sanders, Clinton, or Gore.
...or Biden.
The whole "releasing your tax returns for voter approval" thing never made any sense to me.
There is a reason Congress doesn't release them.
Same here. Some people just think that if they demand it they are owed it.
That said, trump shoulda just told em to fuck off from the start.
Anyone who pays more in taxes than they absolutely have to is a moron.
That the tax code allows Trump to do what he did is a different discussion. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
Yeah, I can't think of any reason that overpayment could be construed as a positive. If it's attempted benevolence or generosity, then I can't think of a more inefficient and wasteful means of charity.
And I've always been of the opinion that it's nobody's damn business how much or little money someone makes. Though I suppose that a lot of people out there might prioritize that information to judge and collectivize others.
The debt thing is a concern, I can see why people would be concerned about the President carrying a lot of personal debt. That is one of the things that affects the ability to get a security clearance, or it would if he weren't in an elected position.
I agree that how much money he makes and how much he pays in taxes aren't anyone's business but his.
That is one of the things that affects the ability to get a security clearance
Again, this is mininformation. It does not, especially if assets exceed liability.
It absolutely can affect it. I don't know if it would in Trump's case, but the point is moot since he doesn't go through the normal process for getting cleared.
How much is that debt costing him?
Right. You need way more info.
I assume our intelligence apparatus knows exactly how much that debt costs him and who it belongs to. They hate him, that they haven't made an issue out of it speaks volumes.
+1000000
Yeah, if he paid more, it would just mean he has shitty accountants.
The usual democrat tactic. When you don't get what you want you subvert the system. Case in point getting Obama's opponents sealed divorce records, forcing the more popular republican out. Libs are scum.
For those who haven't clicked around the reason website before. There is an interesting round up on news in the tech world in the Volokh blog. Even better its not a non-libertarian's twitter feed like the above article: https://reason.com/2020/09/29/the-us-china-tech-divide-where-will-it-end/
School districts are starting to punish kids for what's in the background during their virtual classes...
They're jonesing for that authoritarian thought control fix!
And teachers can be triggered by Pop Tart guns on a computer screen just as easily as in person. They're underpaid heroes, you know. They need our protection.
I think we are starting to see the 2nd generation product of our misguided pandering system, especially in schools. Any 25 year old teacher spent the early 2000s in primary school with all that feeling affirmation and participant trophy bullshit.
Today's GOP is less libertarian than at any time that I've been involved in politics.
PURITY TEST ALERT
Nah. Reality check. Speaking of checks, GOP-backed stimulus checks. GOP-backed welfare checks for farmers. Etc.
Who proposed and pushed those "checks" through congress?
Who insisted that his name go on the check?
So, if he issued every American a $0.00 check with his name on it then, guilty?
Trump. Now who proposed and pushed those “checks” through congress?
Yep, so much worse than the party of W Bush, John McCain, and Paul Ryan...
"Today’s GOP is less libertarian than at any time that I’ve been involved in politics."
File this under "Duh!"
“Today’s GOP is less libertarian than at any time that I’ve been involved in politics.”
So is today's Libertarian Party.
But race baiting, social signaling and kissing bureaucrat bums is totally Libertarian.
Now bake the cake, bigot.
Taking over the uses of the properties of others is totally conservative!
Now tear down Section 230 and publish my rantings, bigots!
Fuck off, Sqrlsy.
"my rantings"
At least you're aware. The meds must be starting to work.
Mamma is too stupid to understand sarcasm.
Mamma said: "Now bake the cake, bigot."
Mamma wants to use Government Almighty FORCE to MAKE people bake cakes! THIS is "freedom", per right-wing, mentally unbalanced, self-righteous hypocrites!
Fuck off, Sqrlsy.
Nope. I guess not.
The American Library Association just put out a list of the "Top 100 Most Banned and Challenged Books" of the past decade.
What exactly is a "challenged" book? Does calling a book a load of garbage count as a challenge?
"Challenged" is what we use because we aren't supposed to say "retarded" anymore.
"We knew he was a tax chiseler and a scoundrel before the Times story broke. We knew it before he became president"
You'd be surprised at what people do and don't know. It's easy to mistake one's own experience as a common experience.
Hey Strazele.
From the NYT article and your limited knowledge of business, explain why you think Trump's taxes demonstrate that he's a "tax chiseler".
I feel certain that straddle sends in extra money with his tax returns.
I pay a shitload more in taxes than Trump. I'm actually shocked that banks loan money to Trump. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump lied about the profitability of his businesses to bank. I mean, God damn, the mfer doesn't make any profits. The fucking yardman pays more in taxes.
"I pay a shitload more in taxes than Trump..."
You expect adults to believe some pimply-faced adolescent pays taxes?
Fuck off and die; the world will thank you.

Read and enjoy! I'm QUITE sure that you will be open to CHANGING YOUR MIND, right?
No you fucked up once that's all the time you get.
THIS is typical of the "open minds" of "data driven" right-wing nut-jobs!
Yeah our time IS valuable, thanks for noticing.
Blame yourself for fucking up.
Whiner-crybabies spend more time bitching about a pay-walled citation than it would take to READ THE FUCKING FACTS listed in the NON-paywalled citation!
No chance
No chance that right-wing nut-jobs will EVER develop the humility and an OPEN MIND required to build reality-based viewpoints!
Blame yourself for fucking up and wasting my time.
Fuck off, Sqrlsy.
You do not know how much tax Trump pays.
Add that to a long list of things s/he doesn't know.
Trump has paid tens of millions over the last decade in both state and federal taxes. Are you talking about 2 years with carryforward losses or are you looking at his full history?
Plus, every businessman knows how much in government fees and union bribes you spend over the life of a business.
This tax story has backfired on Lefties within hours of pushing it.
Hello there. I'm not exactly sure but possibly (1) fraudulent deductions; (2) fraudulent transactions to move money around to avoid a tax; (3) overstating the value of assets to get loans. That's off the top of my head. I'm sure there's a crap ton of ancillary federal criminal laws that apply.
(1) fraudulent deductions; (2) fraudulent transactions to move money around to avoid a tax; (3) overstating the value of assets to get loans.
There's been no evidence of that shown anywhere. What is your source demonstrating fraudulent deductions and transactions?
Some lifelong IRS weenie would make their career off of being the guy who busted Trump. None of them have managed to do it, but that won't stop the public from saying Trump broke literally all of the tax laws.
You left out "The Russians!"
"...That’s off the top of my head..."
Translated from lefty :
'Pulled out of my ass'.
Please link us to any document you are referring to.
Whatever. My halfass thoughts don't matter. What matters is that it's under criminal investigation.
"...My halfass thoughts don’t matter..."
True. Your lies and general bullshit don't matter in the least.
Fuck off and die.
Weird how it matters enough for you to freak out and wish death upon me.
Not weird at all; lefty thugs like you would use the government to steal everything I own if you only got the chance.
Fuck off and die; the world will thank you.
There is no criminal investigation. There is an audit, which doesn't imply any criminality and has been ongoing for five years, which suggests that no criminality has been found but like the Russia bullshit, it will continue despite any evidence of wrong doing. Because leftist like you love to weaponize the system to further your leftist ideology and authoritarian instincts. Just like your idols, the fucking fascist which you all claim to despise yet copy all of their tactics and their economic principles and even their goddamn racism and increasingly their anti-Semitism. And you skipped straight over the brown shirt uniforms and went straight to the all black uniforms, all you're lacking is the damn deaths head at this point.
What "criminal investigation", Stazele?
Please enlighten us (unless of course you're lying, then feel free to go back to deflection).
"Whatever. My halfass thoughts don’t matter. "
You wandered but somehow you ended up at a solid conclusion.
That’s off the top of my head.
LOL! Strazele is such a TDS dipshit he thinks Trump keeps his own books. What a maroon!
"...I’m sure there’s a crap ton of ancillary federal criminal laws that apply."
I'm sure a fucking lefty ignoramus would believe that.
It's not a good thing. I don't like the fact that the criminal laws give prosecutors six ways to Sunday.
But even the NYT admits there is no evidence of criminal behavior but imply it is just a matter of time. Like the fucking Russia fiasco you still believe in. Keep waiting I am sure the Great Pumpkin will show up this year.
"Today’s GOP is less libertarian than at any time that I’ve been involved in politics. It started to take a really bad turn around 2015 and hasn’t looked back. I literally had the highest lifetime scores from multiple libertarian/conservative orgs, and none of it mattered anymore."
He's such a martyr. His political ploy didn't work, playing along with the left never does. The demons break their tools when they're done with them, they don't put them in office.
"We knew he was a tax chiseler"
Fuck off slaver.
It isn't even about that. The mfer doesn't make money. That what's $750 means. It means you're a terrible businessperson. And if if the losses go on for years and years how does Trump stay in business unless he's scamming the business and the tax man?
No, if you read the article you would have seen that Trump had overpaid the year before and thus only had to pay an additional $750.
You're either dishonest or stupid.
Both.
Look, you asked and I answered. It's a waste of time for you and I to argue over this when neither of us has all the facts.
You didn't answer, you lied you pathetic piece of lefty shit.
"Look, I'm a Lying-Ass Dog that didn't actually read the article, and pointing out where I'm wrong is pointless because Orange Man Bad, so it's a waste of time to argue about this."
Orange Man Bad?
Orange Man bad?!? He BAD, all right! He SOOO BAD, He be GOOD! He be GREAT! He Make America Great Again!
We KNOW He can Make America Great Again, because, as a bad-ass businessman, He Made Himself and His Family Great Again! He Pussy Grabber in Chief!
See The Atlantic article by using the below search-string in quotes:
“The Many Scandals of Donald Trump: A Cheat Sheet” or this one…
https://reason.com/2019/09/02/republicans-choose-trumpism-over-property-rights-and-the-rule-of-law/
He pussy-grab His creditors in 7 bankruptcies, His illegal sub-human workers ripped off of pay on His building projects, and His “students” in His fake Get-Rich-like-Me realty schools, and so on. So, He has a GREAT record of ripping others off! So SURELY He can rip off other nations, other ethnic groups, etc., in trade wars and border wars, for the benefit of ALL of us!!!
All Hail to THE Pussy Grabber in Chief!!!
Most of all, HAIL the Chief, for having revoked karma! What comes around, will no longer go around!!! The Donald has figured out that all of the un-Americans are SOOO stupid, that we can pussy-grab them all day, every day, and they will NEVER think of pussy-grabbing us right back!
Orange Man Bad-Ass Pussy-Grabber all right!
We CAN grab all the pussy, all the time, and NONE will be smart enough to EVER grab our pussies right back!
These voters simply cannot or will not recognize the central illusion of politics… You can pussy-grab all of the people some of the time, and you can pussy-grab some of the people all of the time, but you cannot pussy-grab all of the people all of the time! Sooner or later, karma catches up, and the others will pussy-grab you right back!
Fuck off, Sqrlsy

And right-wing nut-jobs have endlessly posted "Orange Man Bad", of their version. You quit, and I will quit!

Hasn't stopped you from throwing around lots of "factual" statements.
"...It means you’re a terrible businessperson..."
"As of September 2020, Donald Trump has an estimated net worth of around $4 billion. He made his billion-dollar empire as a businessman and succeeded his father. He also earned handsomely when he worked for television. His annual salary was $60 million for his show ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’."
Fuck off and die, slaver.
"It isn’t even about that. The mfer doesn’t make money. That what’s $750 means. It means you’re a terrible businessperson. And if if the losses go on for years and years how does Trump stay in business unless he’s scamming the business and the tax man?"
Your ass runneth over.
A partnership I am in buys a building for $100M. We are lucky and four years from now it's worth $125M. Using the current FMV of the property we are able to refinance and borrow an additional $10M. The partnership distributes half the loan proceeds to the investors and uses half the money to pay for improvements.
The partners will show no income on their personal tax returns from this transaction, because distributions are not income. That is how real estate works.
"It isn’t even about that"
It is to me cunt. You and your TDS are your problem.
LOL at 8 hrs being IF.
Please. OMAD or shut up. Without specifics of the study it, like most fitness/weightloss studies is probably useless anyway. Only thing I can suggest is self experimentation, find what works for you and stick with it, observe and measure yourself constantly/consistently.
"Fitness/weightloss studies" are endless iterations of "is there something other than diet/exercise?"
Spoiler alert: diet/exercise works. Other things don't, and tend to do more harm than good (like OMAD).
If you were paying close attention, you'll see a similarity with weight loss and covid.
"X, along with diet and exercises", leads to better outcomes.
"Masks, along with distancing and hand-washing", leads to better outcomes.
In both scenarios the heavy lifting is being done by the "diet and exercise" portion of the behavior.
"The American Library Association just put out a list of the "Top 100 Most Banned and Challenged Books" of the past decade."
If activists, Left and Right, agree on anything, they both hate people who think for themselves. And believe that some ideas are too dangerous for ordinary people to hear.
Yeah well I literally had the highest score in Frogger until DJT stole it.
If you contact the WaPo they'll pay handsomely for your story.
"Anonymous sources claim that in 1990, Mr. Trump bribed the manager at the Westminster Mall, Colorado Red Baron arcade to digitally alter the high scores in the Frogger, Golden Axe, Splatterhouse, Final Fight, and Ms. Pac-Man machines."
Because nobody else on the planet has the same initials as DJT.
Well I can't be sure it was him but I did see what I can only describe as his signature coiffe bobbing up and down over the machines and I felt the presence of pure evil lurking around the room. It was a harrowing night; one that I am lucky enough to have survived.
Needs more alleged sexual assault.
The next day, I tried to recapture my stolen score but a robot hand -freakishly small mind you - had been installed in front of the machine. Every time I put my quarter in, I was greeted by a most brutal of crotch grabs. To this day on cold moonless night, I can still feel the paws of that robot arm molesting my nether regions.
Don’t lie, you liked it.
Are you sure it wasn’t Bill Clinton?
The motion also takes aim at Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, accusing him of "using the grand jurors as a shield to deflect accountability and responsibility."
The AG is also asking for the release of GJ evidence... did that fact not fit the narrative?
"We knew he was a tax chiseler and a scoundrel before the Times story broke. We knew it before he became president, because he bragged about it on the campaign trail. If voters didn't care then, why would they start to now?"
Yes, the NYT piece didn't reveal anything we didn't already know, but that wasn't the purpose of the piece. The purpose of these "new" revelations was to allow Chris Wallace the opportunity to go after Trump on this issue at the debate.
Trump should ask Wallace if he has seen the documents the NYT is referring to. When Wallace says "no", Trump should say, "neither have I, so what are we talking about"?
or he could say i only discuss my taxes with my licensed accountents are you an accountant Wallace? no I didn't think so
If this is the play, it's going to backfire badly. They tried this exact same attack in 2016 and it didn't work then, and the Trump team has had four years to come up with an even better response. Plus, talking about personal finances gives Trump the hook he needs to pivot to the Biden family's shady foreign dealings that the media has been desperately trying to bury.
https://www.theverge.com/2020/9/23/21453028/trump-justice-department-recommendations-section-230-reform-proposal-congress
"It would protect sites from lawsuits over their moderation decisions only if they could show an “objectively reasonable belief” that the content was lewd, excessively violent, promoted terrorism and violent extremism, promoted self-harm, or was unlawful."
So what do people think about Trump's proposed changes to Sec 230? I'm a little wary about the "promoted terrorism and violent extremism" language. That would need to be defined very very strictly and in great detail in the age where people claim silence is violence but burning down your home is speech.
Otherwise, it looks like it has potential to fix the issues that are currently going down.
Let juries decide
I personally think it is stupid, because it removes the ability for site owners to set their own policies for what they want discussed.
It effectively makes specialized forums legally untenable. If you want to create a forum for hunters, and get inundated by asshole PETA activists who shit up the forum, you have to live with it. If you have a forum for conservative discussion, and it is brigaded by liberals who saw a link on Democratic Underground, tough luck. If you have a site dedicated to discussion computer topics, you cannot even get rid of assholes who want to keep bringing up unfair pricing practices, labor disputes or even
As usual, this change in legislation is focused on 3 or 4 big companies, but it is the little guys that will ultimately pay the price for this. And on top of all that, the proposed change of course makes it easier for law enforcement to target "human traffickers" (i.e. prostitutes) and drug sellers.
Yeah, I don't know what the answer is but it seems like there must be a better way to knock Youtube and Facebook out of their positions of dominance.
Police seized 10 firearms from Brad Parscale, committed him for mental health care
The wife of President Donald Trump's former campaign chief Brad Parscale feared he was suicidal and said she saw him load a gun before hearing "a loud bang" as she fled, police documents revealed on Monday.
Parscale was tackled to the ground by SWAT officers when he didn't obey commands and was taken into custody under state guidelines allowing for an involuntary mental illness commitment, Fort Lauderdale, Florida police reports showed.
Government: COME OUT OF YOUR HOUSE OR WE WILL KILL YOU FOR YOUR OWN GOOD
Bro, did you know the Democrats, FDR, kicked the Nazis asses and Charles Lindbergh's "America First" group were Nazi sympathizers and the principle opponents of the Democrats? Democrats won WW2. You owe us everything.
Democrats won WW2
Tell me again about the Japanese internment camps and FDR's handover of the Eastern Block to Uncle Joe...
Charles Lindbergh, Trump's grandfather and the other Nazi sympathizers should have been in those camps but I suppose racism explains why Japanese Americans were there instead.
YOU should be under 24-hour care someplace.
Fuck off and die, slaver.
24 hour care sounds awesome.
It would to a scumbag lefty.
So, you're saying the military is, right now, Republican - because the President is Republican?
Or do you understand that 'the Democrats' and FDR didn't win WW2.
The combined militaries of several countries did.
Oh, and the idea that 'if it wasn't for us you'd be speaking German' is stupid. WW2 was already turning around on the European front by the time we joined in. We probably hastened the end but, really, our major contribution would have been ending Japanes aggression against the Chinese.
This is a typical leftist/progressive thing. They attempt to rewrite history, and then claim that they are owed something because of their interpretation. I have seen more extreme versions, where minority, LGBT+ folks were considered to owe the left for any & all liberties or happiness they have. It's most likely a product of poor critical thinking, worse education, and inability to consider possibilities other than those believed by the in-group. Consider the ignorant and easily disproved claim about Democrats it made without hesitation -nobody had questioned this stupid line of thought before.
Bro, did you know the Democrats, FDR, kicked the Nazis asses and Charles Lindbergh’s “America First” group were Nazi sympathizers and the principle opponents of the Democrats? Democrats won WW2. You owe us everything.
Throughout the pre-war period, FDR strove to maintain cordial diplomatic and economic relations with Nazi Germany. He sent Secretary of Commerce Daniel Roper to speak at a German-American rally in New York City in 1933, where the featured speaker was the Nazi ambassador to Washington, and a large swastika flag was displayed on stage. The president allowed U.S. diplomats to attend the mass Nazi Party rally in Nuremberg in 1937, and his administration helped the Nazis evade the American Jewish community’s boycott of German goods in the 1930s by permitting the Nazis to deceptively label their goods with the city or province of origin, instead of “Made in Germany.”
Despite the intensifying anti-Jewish persecution in Germany in the 1930s, Roosevelt not only refused to criticize the Hitler government, but he personally removed critical references to Hitler from at least three planned speeches by Interior Secretary Harold Ickes in 1935 and 1938. Even Roosevelt’s criticism of the infamous Kristallnacht pogrom—a public statement which has often been cited as proof of the president’s willingness to denounce the Nazis—did not contain a single explicit mention of Hitler, Nazism, or the Jews.
Roosevelt said nothing about Hitler’s action in the Rhineland (1936); applauded the Munich agreement, which handed western Czechoslovakia to the Nazis (1938); and, eighty years ago this week, ducked reporters’ questions rather than utter a single critical word regarding Hitler’s threat to Danzig.
Did you know that FDR praised Mussolini as a leader and sent his advisors to both Germany and Italy to copy their programs for his New Deal? And Lindbergh renounced his ties and fought, as a civilian, in the Pacific Theater and that most of the America First group were Democrats? Did you know that FDR, like Wilson, decided to get into a war we weren't prepared for because he had drastically underfunded our military for the decade before the war? And that he ran in 1940 on a promise to keep us out of the war and then spent from the election until December 7th antagonizing both the Germans and Japanese hoping one would attack so he would have an excuse to break his promise? And that he had American warships guarding British convoys and even attacking German Submarines in international waters as early as spring of 1941? This despite us declaring we were neutral and thus a major violation of international law. Fuck you are simplistic and don't actually understand real history.
Also, did you know that FDR ordered a ship full of Jewish refugees turned away from American ports and returned them to Germany, where many died in Concentration camps?
Did you know FDR was a rampant racist who tried to keep blacks out of combat so they wouldn't gain notoriety and thus make Americans more sympathetic to civil rights, the same as his predecessor Wilson, who also tried to bar blacks from serving in fighting units. However, the Dept of War needed soldiers and needed airman and Elenore fought for the black soldiers.
Didn't he also smack her around a bit before the cops showed? Thought I remembered reading she was bruised up? Fortunate that SWAT was able to tackle him, not shoot him.
He did quite well for himself before Trump canned him, and he got investigated for diverting campaign funds to personal use. Still made quite a bit over the time he was working for Trump.
No, Brad was demoted. He's still with the campaign and "part of the family".
The story said they had a verbal 'altercation'. I never saw a claim of domestic violence. I'm sure they would have mentioned it if there was.
The Propagandists skewed this story and tried to drag Trump into this guy's family problems.
Today's GOP is less libertarian than at any time that I've been involved in politics.

Georgia has not been locked down, so it's nice to see other states tell Lefties to fuck off.
The factual basis for Desantis's decision is at least 5 months old. The damage has been done. Glad he's done it. Day late, dollar short.
Hopefully this starts a cascade effect that shames Inslee into opening up WA. Otherwise we're fucked.
Haha. “Cascade effect”. In WA. I see what ya did there.
" Instead of ruling merely by instinct or by listening to the sole voices of his health department, DeSantis met with a group of highly credentialed and respected doctors from America’s top institutions to gather information."
My hysterical mother in law , who thinks all children are in danger of dying from COVID, informed me the other day that doctors (like my kids' pediatrician who has called this pandemic "the new AIDS hysteria") are not experts because they don't spend their time doing research like the members of the CDC. By which she meant "research I agree with" because she also said you can't trust any country who has sent kids to school and reported extremely low fatality rates in that group
the really sad part is her husband, my father in law, is the health director for their county. He pretty much agrees with her on everything. Fortunately we live in a different county now
Oh, man. My condolences. I too have family that buys into the fear, but at least they ain’t calling the shots for others in their area. That requires a special level of self righteousness.
Fear is a bitch, reality be damned.

Poor Communism. First the USSR failed. Then trying to get rid of American individualism has failed.
It's hardly failed as your two left coasts demonstrate.
They keep fleeing those states. It has failed, they just refuse to admit it and want to try again in flyover country.
Those states have failed. Their mission to destroy American individualism there is still going swimmingly.

From Al Jazeera: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/9/29/nagorno-karabakh-battles-continue-for-third-consecutive-day-live
"14:00 GMT – Armenia’s defence ministry says warplane shot down by Turkish F-16 fighter jet
A Turkish F-16 fighter jet shot down an Armenian SU-25 warplane over Armenian territory, killing the pilot, an Armenian defence ministry spokeswoman said."
The Turks have recently been extremely twitchy over ANY violation of their airspace, no matter how minor. Ask the Russian Su-24 or 25 crew the Turks blasted on the Syrian-Turkish border a year or two ago. My guess is the Armenian pilot wasn't quite where he thought he was, and the Turks swatted him.
Hopefully, it stops there. Everyone, judging by that feed at Al Jazeera, is telling their proxies to knock it off already.
Oh, and the Emir of Kuwait kicked it today at 91. Called on the GCC to stop the Qatar Blockade shortly before he died.
Possible, but Turkey is also sending "volunteers" to bolster Azerbaijan.
Interestingly, so is Germany.
My guess is that Turkey is taking the opportunity to dump some of its Shia malcontents, and not seriously intervene against a Russian client state. Which is what Armenia is at this point. Again, smoked Russian fighter-bombers aside. Who really should've known better than to be bombing Turkmen militias within Syria.
Germany is, what? 5-6 percent population of Turkish descent at this point? Not surprising that some hear the call of the wild, I mean jihad.
This should peter out. Az isn't getting their pipeline through the Caucasus, the Armenians will settle down, and the Turks won't act like, well...Turks, and screw up their budding bromance with Russia. Or really step on their crank and end up trying to invoke Article V.
Why do we still have NATO again?
Pretty good overview of the Greco-Turkish front.
Lots of moving pieces.
I think there may be more Turks in Germany. But, it's been a decade since I was there last. And, last week, commenting about Kurdistan, maybe not in response to you, I meant Armenia or Chechnya when talking oil can't recall off the top off my head which. I can't remember what the fuck had me that distracted, though am busy now as well.
That said, yeah, looking like a mess right now. And, better NATO than the UN.

Woman plows car into Trump supporters; NY Times omits key detail
“A prolonged confrontation between Black Lives Matter and pro-Trump demonstrators outside Los Angeles turned violent Saturday, as someone drove a car through the pro-Trump group. The driver has been charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon,” NPR’s Matthews Schwartz wrote.
“Police say the driver in Saturday's incident was a member of the so-called ‘Caravan for Justice,’ which organized the Black Lives Matter protest.”
Did she have a notarized membership card?
In today's bizarro America, there's a good chance the driver is white, the victim is Black, and the victim will be portrayed as a white supremacist.
Doesn't matter who they are, people need to stop fucking around with other people's vehicles and stop playing protester or demonstrator on the roads, especially the interstate.
If you and your buddies surround a car to unlawfully detain it, or decide to jack around on an interstate and end up getting splattered when they panic and take off, you only have yourself to blame, and I'm fine with with the self-defense argument for the driver no matter what their politics are. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Today’s GOP is less libertarian than at any time that I’ve been involved in politics. It started to take a really bad turn around 2015 and hasn’t looked back.
How many times do I have to hear this? "until recently, Republicans were pretty libertarian!"
Wrong, wrong, wrong, the Republicans have not been remotely libertarian for a very long time.
> I literally had the highest lifetime scores from multiple libertarian/conservative orgs, and none of it mattered anymore.
Conservatives of the Goldwater/Republican era were somewhat libertarian if you overlooked the foreign policy and cold war stances. We had a solid forty years of Republicans not burning libertarians at the stake. Hell, for a while in the late 90s and early Naughts, it seemed like they might actually become fiscally conservative (as in low taxes AND low spending), Then it all started to crumble, and was gone in 2015. That's because GOP is no longer conservative, they're populist. There is no ideology there anymore. There is no rudder but that which pwns a Democrat.
And I think the fault is that of the Neo-Cons. The conservative intellectuals aged and died off, and were replaced by Neo-Conservative writers. Dry and incomprehensible and still rooted in the Leftism they came from. They made ideas irrelevant, and once a nominee showed up on stage that also thought ideas were irrelevant, the end was written.
Nixon (1968) not a conservative or libertarian. Massive government growth (EPA), price controls, illegal surveillance state. proposed universal health care.
Ford (1974) not a conservative or libertarian. Unelected status quo defender.
Reagan(1980) not a libertarian. Exploding big government budget. Massive dod growth.
George Bush(1988) not a conservative or libertarian. Enabler of big government, tax raiser, 3 international invasions in 4 years, enabler of out of control police state tactics, ADA.
Bob Dole(1996) not a conservative or libertarian. Tax collector for the welfare state.
George W Bush(2000) not a conservative or libertarian. Massive government growth, endless foreign wars.
John McCain(2008) not a conservative or libertarian. Idiotic war monger.
Mitt Romney(2012) not a conservative or libertarian. Grandpappy to Obamacare.
Donald Trump(2016) Not a republican.
>>Not a republican.
love that part. stole the nomination process from them
I'll be fair to Dole, he's probably the most legitimately conservative politician the GOP has nominated since Goldwater. Reagan campaigned like one, but his governing style was all over the place and ultimately like Obama he's going to be known more for his soaring rhetoric than anything substantive.
Tax Collector for the Welfare State Bob Dole?
Every Republican since Eisenhower has been a Tax Collector for the Welfare State.
Eisenhower could also be added as not a Republican. Prior to his run he was unaffiliated and either party would have been glad to have him. Not a warmonger.
Not a libertarian , as the interstate highway system would not appeal to purists.
He was also serious about balanced budgets and spending restraints.
Tax Collector for the Welfare State Bob Dole?
Well, Reagan was promised dollar for dollar spending cuts with both "Tax Reform" bills, and was double crossed.
He did cut marginal tax rates from 70 to 28, slash regulations 60%, and double the economy.
Ill take more Reagan
70% is fucking evil. Yeah, good for RR on that.
Get your popcorn ready. And place your bets. I've got $50 on "Biden sharts his pants on live TV and the moderator and all the talking heads pretend it didn't happen" and $100 on "one of the candidates challenges the other to 'step outside and settle things like men'."

Also, I’m going to post this one more time for those in the back. Trump paid $1 million in taxes in 2016 and $4.2 million in taxes in 2017 and, per the NYT story, most of that money was rolled forward. Stop LYING. Start READING. Just. Stop. Lying.
On what are you basing your claim that the New York Times hasn’t seen the actual returns?
If so, why is Trump saying that they illegally obtained them? That’s a tacit acknowledgement that they have the real info.
Biden’s Texas Political Director Implicated in Massive Mail-In Ballot Harvesting Scheme in Harris County
By Debra Heine • September 28, 2020
https://amgreatness.com/2020/09/28/bidens-texas-political-director-implicated-in-massive-mail-in-ballot-harvesting-scheme-in-harris-county/
A Biden Campaign operative in Texas is attempting to rig the 2020 election with the help of others in a massive ballot harvesting scheme, according to two private investigators who testified under oath that they have “video evidence, documentation and witnesses” to prove it. With the help of mass mail-in ballots, the illegal ballot harvesting operation could harvest 700,000 ballots, one Harris County Democrat operative allegedly bragged.
The investigators—a former FBI agent and former police officer—claim that Biden’s Texas Political Director Dallas Jones and his cohorts have been “hoarding mail-in and absentee ballots” and ordering operatives to them fill out for people in Harris County illegally, “including dead people, homeless people, and nursing home residents in the 2020 presidential election,” Patrick Howley of the National File reported.
I'm glad they got caught, but I hate how it forecasts things to come. There is too much opportunity for corruption and many don't have any motivation to look for it.
This won't stop it, and no 'major' media will cover this.
700,000 illegal votes still wouldn't have flipped Texas in 2016
Like it almost never happened.
The articles says police are investigating, so if their accusations are true, the fraud will be stopped.
I'm sorry, but has any place *really* banned a book in the United States in the last 10 years?
If I recall, the 'banned books' list was somewhat notorious for... shall we say a 'fluid' definition of banned.
But to be fair, To Kill a Mockinbird is a book about rape denialism, so I can see that...
Joe Biden used this strategy to trim his tax bill. You can, too.
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/06/joe-biden-used-this-strategy-to-trim-his-tax-bill-you-can-too.html
I've posted some comments about how real estate developers can avoid taxes (legally and appropriately), and with regards to this strategy - yes, this very common for self-employed people. The key is making the wages high enough to be considered fair market value for similar non-owner employees in the industry and size of the company. Often people cap it at the FICA wage limit, but that's a little riskier than paying something higher and living with the medicare taxes.
Biden will trip up not even the coke can keep him in line.
Never understood why nobody in the bleachers could figure out Ray Kinsella's daughter was choking on hot dog and just smack her on the back themselves without costing Moonlight Graham his opportunity to play more cornfield baseball

"Today’s GOP is less libertarian than at any time that I’ve been involved in politics."
Only makes sense if you ignore: Criminal Justice Reform bill passed, deregulation, the President reducing Obamacare's individual mandate to almost nothing, Republicans allowing the states to continue with Marijuana legalization, the President literally pardoning individuals during the RNC 2020, the President pushing for withdrawals from Syria and Afghanistan, etc.
Trump may not be a libertarian, but arguing that some how the GOP is less Libertarian than it was when it was just Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell running the show is insane and ignores reality completely.
It depends on your definition of 'libertarian'. If it's the brand of Libertarian that courts the favor with the far left cool kids, then I would say he's 100% right.
But even going by that definition....the GOP is still ironically better than its ever been. I can't think of anything since Amash has been in national politics ( since 2010) until now that would appeal to the "Far Left Cool kids" other than some of the things I listed above, "Criminal Justice Reform, troop withdrawal, etc."
Justin Amash should've just followed Rand Paul and Thomas Massie's example, instead of this "NeverTrump" crap.
exactly
If you cherry pick, you leave out things like trillions in spending, trying to control social media, refusing to do anything about qualified immunity, undermining peace treaties with Iraq.
"We have no concerns with grand jurors sharing their thoughts on our presentation because we are confident in the case we presented."
Based on all the evidence that's come out, including jailhouse recordings of Breonna Taylor discussing her boyfriends drug business and various people on the street that owed him money, I'm guessing the Atty General is very, very confident in the case.
shame people think "oh, drugs ... too bad so sad"
There were two boyfriends, her current and her ex. Which one are you referring to?
Thomas Sowell criticized the "banned book" nonsense in 1994:
"Usually some school or library officials decide to buy a particular book and then some parents or others object that it is either unsuitable for children or unsuitable in general, for any of a number of reasons. Then the cry of "censorship" goes up, even if the book is still being sold openly all over town.
"If the criterion of censorship is that the objection comes from the general public, rather than from people who run schools and libraries, then that is saying that the parents and taxpayers have no right to a say about what is done with their own children or their own money."
https://archive.seattletimes.com/archive/?date=19941005&slug=1934214
Really, at minimum grand jury material should be turned over to defendants, and also the grand jury should be able to disclose information about its own proceedings, eg, through a report or presentment.
gasp! however would l'Etat keep its advantage with transparent grand juries?
