Brickbat: Teacher of the Year

|

A DeKalb County, Georgia, special education teacher has resigned after the school district opened an investigation into comments he made on a social media post that showed a man appearing to kneel on the neck of a toddler. The photo shows a white child pinned to the ground by two people who appear to be black. One of them appears to be kneeling on the child's neck. The caption reads "blm now." "Your [sic] doing it wrong!" teacher Brian Papin wrote. "One knee on center of the back one on the neck and lean into it until death! You saw the video!" That's an apparent reference to a video showing a Minneapolis police officer kneeling on the neck of George Floyd, who died after being detained by cops.

  3. I’ve heard that people too stupid to get a real degree went into education.

    1. Business, psychology, education. The Three Stooges of college degrees.

      1. I basically make about $12,000-$18,000 a month online. It’s enough to comfortably replace my I was amazed how easy it was after I tried it . DSw This is what I’ve been doing old jobs income, especially considering I only work about 10-13 hours a week from home………..Cash Mony System

        1. “Cash Mony” indeed. Do you by any chance have an education degree?

  4. A teacher using the possessive pronoun instead of the contraction? Yes, you should resign.

  5. And child protective should investigate the teacher.

  6. Brian Papin’s race? Notably absent from the linked article.

    1. “DeKalb County” narrows it down.

      1. I used to live in DeKalb County. My knowledge of the politics of the area actually makes this result kind of shocking. The north of the county is mixed race, but more white. The south is mostly African American. Cynthia McKinney was my representative, if that gives you an idea of the politics.

When I lived there they had a serious problem with delinquent property taxes, so they hired a county manager and tasked him with collecting those taxes. He brought in a collection agency and they sent out notices to all delinquent property owners demanding payment – or else face liens or foreclosure.

Well, that got the attention of the county commission. They determined that it was racist to collect property taxes in the southern half of the county, and therefore directed that they only be allowed to collect from the northern half.

So firing someone for a racially insensitive joke that runs in the correct PC direction is a bit surprising.

That being said, I’m opposed to the hysteria over jokes. We should be allowed to make offensive jokes. We should be allowed to make jokes that are in poor taste. The fact that he’s a teacher who works with special ed kids cuts both ways. Sure, he should know better and parents probably aren’t going to want their kids teacher joking about abusing kids even if race wasn’t a factor…. but he’s also a teacher who works with special ed students all day. Blowing off a little steam joking about the kids he has to deal with should be an expected behavior.

We really need to grow back a sense of humor.

        1. maybe with the recent actions of the democrat party and their puppets, there’s been a large change in the community? It’s pretty clear we can’t trust the polls.

        2. “We should be allowed to make offensive jokes.”

Q: Why don’t blacks marry Mexicans?
A: Afraid their kids will be too lazy to steel!

Q: How did the blonde get pregnant?
A: And you say we’re stupid?

Q: What do sharks eat with peanut butter?
          A: Jellyfish!

I apologize to all the sharks that were offended by this post.

          1. Or spell “steal” correctly!

            1. Maybe he meant working in the mills in Gary?

            2. What? Pittsburgh isn’t full of thieves?

        3. “they only be allowed to collect from the northern half.”
See, there is systemic racism. Just not the kind that I think the protesters are going on about.

        4. In my part of Dekalb, John Lewis was the rep.
Not sure if it’s the same district

          1. And as well as whites and blacks and Latinos and asians, the area i lived in had a bunch of Jews and East Africans.
            Pretty colorful spot

            1. Q: What’s the object of a Jewish football game?

A: To get the quarter back!

            2. You know that sprinklers are racist? Just listen to them. Chink chink chink chink SPICK nigga nigga nigga nigga..

              1. Or is it spick then chink? Fuck these old jokes. So old they fart dust.

        5. So firing someone for a racially insensitive joke that runs in the correct PC direction is a bit surprising.

Maybe not every district has been infected by “The Long March on the Institutions” and fires anyone for nakedly racist comments.

  7. How can a school district investigate a teacher?
    Didn’t Brian join the union?

    1. he’s had a hard time keeping up on his union payments with this economy. Should have prioritized that over food or housing I guess.

      1. Naw, who am I kidding, the teachers aren’t doing badly. They’ve been getting paid to do nothing since March, I’ve gotten to watch a bunch of these pricks then go and mock regular folks on social media who ARE desperately trying to find a way to put food on the table when they can’t work. Honestly, I feel zero sympathy for these leeches. Especially since they’re the ones teaching our kids this commie SJW shit.

      2. Trust me. The Union takes the “dues” before you get your check. Kind of like Da Govberment

        1. Oh and the also automatically your forced “contribution” to their political action committee.

  8. Oh, come on. You can’t fire a Black teacher for a comment like that. Only Whites can be racist.

    1. But he wasn’t fired, he resigned. Which means he can just go get a job at the more inclusive and diverse school up the road a piece. I’m sure with that comment on his record, many schools would be happy to have him on board since they know his politics lean the right way.

  9. Why do these writers think they have to tell you who George Floyd is in every article? If you don’t know by now you don’t care. It’s like after 911, for years every article that mentioned it also felt like they had to explain what happened that day.

    1. Gotta keep the narrative going. Repetition is a key component of propaganda.

  10. Another special education teacher acting like a retard.

  11. I’ve made $84,000 so far this year working and I’ve made such great money. It’s really user friendly and I’m just so happy that I found out about it. Heres what I’ve been doing HERE? Read More

  12. I have received $17634 last month from home by working online in my part time. I am a full time student and doing this easy home based work for 3 to 4 hrs a day. ijk..This job is very simple to do and its regular earnings are much better than any other office type work.
