Mass Shootings

El Paso Walmart Shooter Allegedly Wrote Anti-Immigrant Manifesto Calling Hispanics 'Invaders'

Plus: A second shooting in Dayton leaves 9 dead, dozens injured.

|

Hours before he allegedly attacked shoppers at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, Patrick Crusius published a hate-filled diatribe in which he called Hispanics "invaders" and criticized the supposed takeover of the U.S. government by pro-immigrant corporations.

At least 20 people are dead in El Paso and more than two dozen others were wounded, according to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. The alleged shooter, a 21-year old man, is in custody.

Law enforcement has not yet confirmed that the shooter wrote the manifesto, but NBC News (and others) report that multiple police sources indicated a connection between the document and the shooting.

In the four-page manifesto published on 8chan, the alleged shooter wrote that he was responding to the "Hispanic invasion of Texas" and called on others to similarly take up arms against "low-hanging fruit"—lightly guarded, soft targets. He lauded the man who killed 51 in a pair of mosque shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand, in March—a shooting that was also accompanied by an anti-immigrant screed posted online.

The El Paso's shooters alleged manifesto is racist, anti-corporate, anti-automation, and especially anti-immigrant, and it reflects a general hatred for many aspects of American society. Crusius hails from the Dallas area, according to police, but it seems likely that he targeted El Paso because the city has a large immigrant population.

The manifesto claims that he was acting in defense of his country, but gunning down innocent people as they peacefully shop is the act of a madman, full stop. That's true whether the shooter wrote the manifesto or not.

President Donald Trump tweeted about the attack, and several 2020 Democratic candidates have renewed calls for gun control measures. It is unknown at this time whether the shooter's weapons were purchased legally.

Texas is an open-carry state and Walmart allows customers to open-carry inside their stores in such states, as long as store staffers can verify proper documentation. At least one shopper told local media that he attempted to engage the shooter with his own firearm.

UPDATE 8/4/2019: After the publication of this post, a second shooting occurred in Dayton, Ohio, leaving nine dead and dozens injured. The Dayton Police Department says the suspect in the shooting is dead.

  1. “…At least one shopper told local media that he attempted to engage the shooter with his own firearm.”

    It’s a shame there weren’t more.

    1. ITT SQRLSY admits I have trolled him so mercilessly that he wants to murder people.

I think that means I win.

      1. Oh and Tony and Shreek run a bunch of sockpuppets.

        1. Tony is now convinced that I am an unstoppable serial killing machine. This amuses me.

Haven’t seen anything of McGoo since Red Rocks outed his true identity. This is also amusing.

          1. Only because you regularly express a desire to murder your political opponents, and repeatedly ask that I and others commit suicide.

As for your physical ability to carry out your genocidal fantasies, I am skeptical.

          2. Poor Tony is deflecting that his side has murdered so many political dissidents in the 20th century that everything he says is laughable.

            1. Good to see that someone else also knows that the number of those allegedly murdered by “the Left” over the past century are dwarfed by the number of those murdered by alt-Right.

The most that Stalin murdered was maybe 1.6 million as documented in the peer reviewed “Red Holocaust” by Steven R. Rosefielde (Professor of Comparative Economic Systems at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.)

The problem is that actual criminals were also sent to the Gulags so separating the guilty from the political prisoners hasn’t been done yet in any peer reviewed study to get the actual, and smaller, number.

One could also argue, given Stalin’s paranoia, that Stalin was a Conservative (Conservatives also exist on the Left.):

              https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-human-beast/201104/conservatives-big-fear-brain-study-finds
Conservatives Big on Fear, Brain Study Finds

Peering inside the brain with MRI scans, researchers at University College London found that self-described conservative students had a larger amygdala than liberals. The amygdala is an almond-shaped structure deep in the brain that is active during states of fear and anxiety. Liberals had more gray matter at least in the anterior cingulate cortex, a region of the brain that helps people cope with complexity. . .
              .
              .
That and Stalin’s Reaganesque economic policy of redistributing most of the fruits of people’s labors upwards to a small ruling Oligarchy while most of the hoi polloi tread water just to survive.

              1. Stalin only killed 1.6 million…
Yea, ok. This one doesn’t even warrant a response.

                As to fear?
So it’s “conservatives” who are trying to panic everyone about the climate apocalypse, rampant racism, LGBTyaddayadda persecution, a 50% chance of being killed by a mass shooter every time one leaves the house, millions dying from not getting enough welfare, millions dying from not nationalizing “healthcare”, “controlling” women’s bodies as the intent behind any statutory limits on abortion, “concentration camps”, and Orange literally Hitler?
                Did I miss anything?
                Oh yea – the Russians!
                Voter suppression!
                Student loans!
                Corporations and minimum wages!

Indeed, I can’t think of a progressive plan/concern that doesn’t utilize fear almost exclusively.

                1. Bingo

                2. Yes, thank you. He ‘forgot’ to include Mao, as well, in his socialist victim count. But what’s another 50 million?! And, yeah, those other 30 million or so victims of Stalin don’t count because they were all …. criminals. (Yeah, right.) And, wait a minute, why should the killing of criminals not count?

                  1. How about the 20 million Ukrainians he starved (not due to natural famine but dir to Stalin’s Government actoon)? Why do they not count in the total??

                3. Now that’s a manifesto with some cohones to it.

              2. You know that study was retracted right?

                1. No, he doesn’t. Even if he did, he wouldn’t care.

              3. You need to add Hitler’s killings to Stalin’s if you want to total up killings by socialists

                1. The Enabling_Act_of_1933
                  Gave Hitler absoliute power.
The naziu party and other right wing parties voted for it enthusiastically.
The centrist party voted for it reluctantly after being given “assurances” that everything would work out.
The left wing parties voted against.

                  1. That’s true, but it doesn’t show that they are politically very different. Often, ideologies that are close to each other fight each other mercilessly because they are recruiting from the same pool of followers (cf protestantism vs Catholicism).

Fact is that European fascism grew out of European socialist and communist movements; the main differences were that fascism allowed more private property than socialism/communism and downplayed class-based distinctions in favor of nationalism, both intended to appeal more to middle class voters (as it did).

              4. Great Answer. You are right about Stalin. But where did you get the low number. There is still no consensus on the number. But most say Upwards Of at least 20 Million. And since the Regime Did not keep accurate records there is no way we could ever know for sure.

              5. Fuck off chemkuni

              6. Observe that religious socialists make a bragging point of having murdered murdered millions of people–within the context of suggesting that materialist socialist looters murdered a larger pile. Two million goood, four million baaad!
This has to be what Rand meant by “competition in the forcible restraint of men.”

              7. Stalin is Reaganesque…now that’s funny!
Also, MRI scans show at least one other organ as being much larger in self-described conservative students when compared to their minimally-endowed liberal counterparts. Oops, so sorry, Kuni.

              8. “Liberals had more gray matter at least in the anterior cingulate cortex, a region of the brain that helps people cope with complexity.” If this is true then why do leftists/Socialists/ Progressives react so over the top emotionally to silly triggers, gender identifying and run around crying for safe spaces. Silly simply silly. Stalin was responsible for 3.3 Million in the gulags and other forced imprisonments. 5-7 million died in the ’32-’33 famine. Deaths directly attributed to Stalin was over 11mil. What a guy!

          3. To be fair, I outed his true identity

        2. And you’re an evil scumbag.

        3. Tony and Shreek ARE sockpuppets, noob.

          1. And you’re a chicken fucker. Well, you’re a chicken fucker for sure, the rest not so much.

    2. But But But we were assured by Conservatives that it only took “a” good guy (that was also Mighty White of them to exclude women) with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun.

So what happens when a multitude of guys start shooting at some of the alleged good guys with guns not realizing that they are not the bad guy?

This is also what happens if one of those good guys with a gun is a “Those People” and the ruling Oligarchy’s corrupt and murderous security forces show up: https://www.vox.com/identities/2018/11/12/18088874/jemel-roberson-police-shooting-illinois-ian-covey-video

      1. You should probably stay at Vox.
Others around here aren’t as nice as I’m being.

        1. Yes run along to Mother Jones.. they love anti-Constitutionalists
          they will embrace you.

        2. I meant to say Vox but they have been running the phony Stats on gun violence put out by Mother Jones. Both magazines hate the Constitution still can’t get over HRC losing. Such children.

      2. A good guy with a gun was running in to get children to safety if you weren’t ignorant.

      3. the good guy with a gun in El Paso was a minority, and the cops managed not to shoot him.

        1. Was he an Anglo? ’cause Hispanics aren’t a minority anywhere West of the Pecos.

      4. Kuni, I get it, you’re a soft, weak progtard who doesn’t know he difference between the barrel of an M4, or the cock buried in your asshole. So I understand how you can ask stupid questions like this.

The fact is that CC permit holders are trained in these scenarios, with many of us having military or similar backgrounds. So we are trained in evaluating our surroundings and iID’ing who the hostile are in these situations. At least we’ll enough that it’s a lot better than letting some psycho progressive execute everyone.

Now fuck off, real adults are trying to have a discussion. You go to the kids room with Pedo Jeffy and the other subnormal fools.

        1. You know you are one of the reasons why Things are so toxic. Criminals don’t say what party they belong to.

          1. I’ll give you a hint, they’re predominantly democrat supporters

      5. Yes, the old “we will descend into the Wild West” and “the trigger will pull the finger” fallacies. Thanks for reminding us about this recurring nonsense.

    3. Fuck the pop up got me to flag a comment again. Sorry Sevo.

  2. The people who promote hatred and violence, such as the “physical removal” memes (and their promoter) bear responsibility for promoting and encouraging murder. Their sick ideas are encouraging people to kill.

    1. Serious question: Are people who don’t promote peace and love also encouraging murder?

    2. Uh huh. What about those who promote violence against conservatives? They get a free pass, don’t they, Tom? You know, “punch a nazi” memes that encourage attacking anyone wearing a red hat, orantifa beating up people, or gunmen shooting up Repiblican softball practice, or pissed of lefties talking Republic senators who are mowing the yard.
Nobody, Tom, is responsible for this act except the murderous bastard that pulled the trigger.

      1. Yeah, whataboutism says our sins can be excused because other people sin, too! I murdered, but so what?!?! Hillary and Billary and Schmillary did the same, so I should get off Scott free!!!

“Nobody, Tom, is responsible for this act except the murderous bastard that pulled the trigger.”

Except if they can point the finger at Schmillary…

You contradict yourself in one and the same short post!

        1. How the fuck did I contradict myself, idiot?
Encouraging violence against the other doesn’t negate the responsibility of the person who chooses to engage in such violenece. Here, I’ll give you an example: I strongly encourage you to go fuck yourself.

          1. “What about those who promote violence against conservatives? ”

There’s your whataboutism right there! Can you THINK about what you are typing? If you (rightly in my opinion) want to point the finger of blame at the trigger-puller, why do you even pollute your message with whataboutism crap?!?!?

            1. Because you’re too stupid to understand the point. It’s not whataboutism, it’s pointing out hypocrisy, double standards, and confirmation bias, pure and simple.

            2. You just blamed people who psot online for murder.

If you ever expected to be taken seriously by anyone, that’s over now you sad crazy loser.

              1. Prediction: Squirrely will double down on his stupidity and never ever be taken seriously.

                1. Try making sense if you can shit for brains.

                  1. ?????

You don’t think Squirrely will continue his idiocy?

          2. Finch: The problem is, he knows us better than we know ourselves. That’s why I went to Larkhill, last night.

            Dominic: But that’s outside quarantine.

Finch: I had to see it. There wasn’t much left. But when I was there it was strange. I suddenly had this feeling that everything was connected. It’s like I could see the whole thing, one long chain of events that stretched all the way back before Larkhill. I felt like I could see everything that happened, and everything that is going to happen. It was like a perfect pattern, laid out in front of me. And I realised we’re all part of it, and all trapped by it.

Dominic: So do you know what’s gonna happen?

Finch: No, it was a feeling. But I can guess. With so much chaos, someone will do something stupid. And when they do, things will turn nasty. And then Sutler will be forced to do the only thing he knows how to do. At which point, all V needs to do is keep his word. And then…

              1. Oh! Oh! A yt vid which offers nothing other than EO’s idiocy! How…….
                pathetic.

                1. I’m sorry for being a scumbag. My wife left me and my dick is useless. But I guess you knew that already.

‘stuff, stuff, stuff, more stuff and stuff’
Try making sense, if you can.

              1. According to my Very Deep Theory of the Stuffy Stuff and Stuff (which explains EVERYTHING), stuffy stuff is ALWAYS very, very stuffy…

                …Except when it is not!

(That should make stuff and stuff clear to EVERYONE! You’re welcome!)

              2. Try thinking instead of talking. It opens up a whole new world.

        2. Well, there’s always “what about Dayton?” now, unfortunately. I might consider raising the legal age to purchase (not shoot) a firearm (or at least an AR) because these days at least half of those kids are on psych meds for ADHD.

      2. And the Violence Against Conservatives is just as abhorrent.

    3. You’re an idiot.

    4. I agree… John and Tulpuker and Shitlord and Jesse and Nadless Nardzless and Government Almighty knows HOW many others show up here and at who knows HOW many other web sites, oozing hatred of all sorts of illegal humanoids all day every day, and then they just wash their hands of it, when one or their kissing cousins buys their bullshit, and go ballistic. Who knew that words have consequences sometimes?!?!?

      1. It’s because of people like you that I rarely ever come to this site anymore. Words have consequences? Memes are promoting murder? What the fuck does that mean, exactly? As a hard-core libertarian, words (or memes) don’t have consequences or promote murder. Individual people do. Those who act violently are responsible of their actions, regardless of what words/memes they read/see, their political beliefs, or anything else.

If people like you and Tom think that words or memes are somehow causing violence, you are both idiots and just trying to pass the blame from the perpetrator to someone else. Should we just trash the First Amendment and let the government dictate what we can say or post? Do either of you or Tom think this would somehow reduce violence?

“Words have consequences”. “…memes (and their promoter) bear responsibility for promoting and encouraging murder”. So fucking stupid it’s ludicrous.

        1. “Words have consequences? Memes are promoting murder? What the fuck does that mean, exactly? As a hard-core libertarian, words (or memes) don’t have consequences or promote murder. Individual people do. Those who act violently are responsible of their actions, regardless of what words/memes they read/see, their political beliefs, or anything else.”

          +^
Taking responsibility for your actions is the way you mature from the ‘socialism’ of adolescence to rationalism of an adult.
It is not always easy, but if you refuse to do so, you end up a permanent infantile parasite.
YOU are responsible for YOUR actions; stuff any attempt to blame it on what someone said up your ass.

          1. I’d be interested to see a single instance of any evidence that I hate immigrants.

He made the claim, the fled like a fucking bitch.

            1. You regularly jump on the shit of those who defend immigrants. You never jump on the shit of the haters of illegal sub-humans. It is that simple, liar!

As far as trying to prove you ever said anything, it is impossible, since you never say anything except for childish insults. But your pattern of where you direct your insults show that you are an evil hater, narcissist, and racist-nationalist. I know “racist” is an over-used term, but go look in the mirror.

          2. Sevo, I respect a butt-load of what you write. So at least for you (unlike the conservatard closed-minded haters here), I know you’ll likely have an open mind and hear me out. Let me elaborate:

Yes, absolutely blame the trigger-puller for pulling the trigger, and NO ONE else… Legally! Words are words and bullets are bullets. I am NOT calling for legal punishment of the haters here, or on 4-chan.

The fine line is here: Conspiracy! We should be legally free to spout as much hatred as we want… Politically! “Let’s vote for the cops to kill all of the crackers”. OK, that’s political speech. Oppose it with nothing but words.

But when I say to you, “Let’s meet together in the alley at midnight, you bring guns, I bring toadstickers, and let’s go kill us some crackers”. That crosses the line into conspiracy to commit private violence, and should be opposed by the State.

When I am condemning the haters (you know they hang out here, from what they write), I am speaking about morality and ethics, not what is legal v/s illegal. It is clear to see, though, from history, that increasing levels of spoken hatred DO lead to violence! “I feel that random persons of Group A (liberal crackers) deserve to die because persons of Group B (AntiFa) has shit all over Purple People like me” is a recipe for civil war, if messages like this are repeated loudly enough and frequently enough!

That, in more detail, is what I am saying.

            1. Hahahahaha, you pathetic little bitch. Shove that respect up your ass.

              1. And you have refuted, or counter-argued against, nothing I have written. Hello, Tulpuppy clone!

            2. What hate do I give about illegal immigrants shit head? I just point out they cost society more than they provide when you analyze data shit for brains. I married a Latina dumbfuck. She hates illegal immigrants just like I do, but that’s cause she understands basic math. You know who else understood basic economics and hated illegal immigration, the racist Cesar Chavez.

So enough with your ignorant retarded shit. You resort to racist calls because you’re too fucking stupid to make a logical argument. Go fuck yourself.

              1. See “The Truth About Undocumented Immigrants and Taxes” (in quotes) in your Google search window will take you straight there, hit number one… AKA http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2016/09/undocumented-immigrants-and-taxes/499604/ For details about us natives mooching off of the taxes of the illegal sub-humans…

Keep on slamming the people you mooch off of, Jesse!

                1. In case you cant read.

“In 2017, the total cost of illegal immigration for the United States – at the federal, state, and local levels – was approximately $116 billion.”

The study you cited pared out a shit ton of costs to reach its conclusion. DOD you even bother reading the report the Atlantic article was based on?

                  1. Native Americans never invited all of the non-Natives (mainly whites, early on), so the vast majority of us are the descendants of illegal sub-humanoids. Look at the VAST costs we have imposed on the Natives!!! That’s what you’re saying, then, if illegal immigration is so costly, expecially in the long term! We should ALL go back where we came from, and the USA would be VASTLY more wealthy, without all those costs!!!

                  2. Also this, Jesse: You want to make the fine point that it is ILLEGAL immigrants that are so costly, and the LEGAL immigrants are just fine and dandy? Then your favorite POTUS, Der TrumpfenFuhrer, and His Bureaucratic Army, are doing VAST damage to us ALL, by constantly lusting after turning LEGAL humans into ILLEGAL humans! Every chance that they get!

See https://reason.com/archives/2018/10/24/trump-is-building-a-wall-of-bu “Trump Is Building a Wall of Bureaucracy”… Where we see that Trump and his bureaucrats are jumping on any and every excuse that they can find, to turn rule-following non-American residents into illegal subhumans, via any route that they can find! To thwart Congress, which would NOT cut back LEGAL immigration as much as Trump wants!

        2. ““Words have consequences”. “…memes (and their promoter) bear responsibility for promoting and encouraging murder”. So fucking stupid it’s ludicrous.”

I’m not calling for legal punishments of haters (who do not commit conspiracy). See fuller text here in response to Sevo. I am saying that morally and ethically, I can NOT honestly wash my hands of the violence that I have encouraged, after screaming hatred into every ear that I can find. Do you like it when I spew hatred of your ethnic group? No? Then don’t spew hatred of my ethnic group. It’s that simple!

          1. I get what you’re saying, and I don’t disagree with your underlying sentiment to just let and let live, but who gets to dictate what “hatred” is? That’s a slippery slope argument you’re making, in my opinion.

I don’t think the vast majority of people are intentionally running around trying to scream “hatred into every ear” they “can find” outside of the social media realm. But again, who is to dictate what “hatred” is, or what meme is or isn’t appropriate? If someone ends up acting violently, I think it’s on the perpetrator, not on whomever spewed “hatred” or posted a meme.

Fact is, humans have preconceived ideas and stereotypes of others, whether it be ethnics, gender, age, weight, height, where someone lives, or multitudes of other things. We all do it, consciously or not, every single time we meet someone new. And we all seek out others who confirm our confirmation bias.

            1. +1000

        3. Actions have consequences. Words mean nothing.

      2. Aw, you gonna cry bitch? You gonna cry and then shoot up a mall because I constantly make fun of you bitch?

Only weak ass losers like you even attempt to pull the shit you’re trying.

      3. You’re an idiot too.

      4. Squirrely……….faggot……… I have never displayed ANY hatred for illegals. I just want them out of here. I reserve all my hatred for the filthy progtards and useless idiots like you.

      5. You can say he was just as terrified about the Lorax. He has been inundated with messages of doom. The cults of death of Climate change, automation, oil drilling etc were whirling through this unstable youth. If all you get is immigration hatred you glossing over what this political terrorist wants in his delusion to accomplish. He states he could not bring himself to kill Americans even though they are responsible too.
This was a extremely exasperated social depressant who was calling to his other depressants. Those just targeting his immigration views are washing their hands of their own culpability, and willingness to blame their own incarnations of the all powerful boogieman, whether it be Russia, devious Capitalist, all powerful elites, or powers of higher learning…

    5. Your socks get really fucking tiresome Tony.

      1. Doubt SQRLSY One is a Tony sock; not nearly as ideologically idiotic as Tony.

    6. The people who promote hatred and violence, such as the “physical removal” memes (and their promoter) bear responsibility for promoting and encouraging murder. Their sick ideas are encouraging people to kill.

Yes, many Israelis feel that way about anyone who supported the removal of Jews from Gaza.

    7. No, the people who bear responsibility for the increasing anger among young people are people like you; and instead of reflecting on it, you double down on it.

  3. Serious question: Do *all* these clowns “publish” shit before they, um, go ballistic?

    1. Supposedly all of them write manifestos *except* the guy who shot up a *country western* concert for the largest mass shooting in US history.

The Panopticon State also know *absolutely nothing* about him.

      How curious.

    2. “In the four-page manifesto published on 8chan”
Chances it belongs to the actual shooter are one in ten. That’s not going to stop Boehm and other yellow journalists though.

      1. This could be a flash flag setup.

      2. Why would someone pissed about hispanic “invaders” kill non-hispanic Americans?

They wouldnt unless it was something other motivation.

      3. The only one of these random monsters that had any clue what he was doing, or showed the slightest strategic interest in his apparent ideology and its connection to his act, is the Christchurch guy.
He wanted more gun control and NZ got it, despite knowing that it was an objective of his act.
Pretty sure most people realize that the worst way to advance an ideology against unfair vilification by its opponents is to kill a bunch of random people in its name.
Why attack random people instead of specific targets?
There are so many symbolic targets one could choose from. McVeigh picked the Oklahoma City federal building for a reason. He picked the date he did for a reason. He planned it like anybody who cares about the results of his actions would.
Indiscriminate targeting of opportunity is pretty strong evidence that ideology is not much of a motivator in such acts.
*At least… as long as that ideology isn’t Islam, in which the fact of randomness is a strategic choice.

        1. +10000

McVeigh also considered himself a patriot to get revenge for Waco and Ruby Ridge. He had accomplices who also wanted to take action against the US government. They considered assassinating Janet Reno too.

Because of the Oklahoma City bombing, Congress passed the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996.

One way to think of this is that McVeigh partly caused Americans to support a bigger shift to security over civil rights. Another way to look at is McVeigh caused the government to restrict constitutional rights and that is continuing which has led to more and more Americans waking up to this fact and resisting.

          1. McVeigh thought the only way the government would stop committing atrocities against Americans was if they were reminded that they weren’t untouchable themselves. It really bothers me to think he might have been right about that; They did decidedly change their approach to such situations afterwards, resulting in many lives saved. But there had to have been ways to achieve that without mass murder.

I was involved with the Michigan Militia at the time. We really despised him, knowing quite well the negative repercussions that sort of act would bring.

            1. Thanks for sharing.

Almost every time an American targets innocent Americans instead of government tyrants, it gives the government time to restrict the rights of Americans and tends to get public support on the side of government.

If you are going to assassinate government employees and politicians dont get innocents. Make sure everyone knows that it was an assassination. This scares the shit out of the tyrants in government and Government should be scared shitless of Americans when the tyrants do what they do.

To reference WWII, all any German officer early in WWII had to do was wait for the right moment to put a 9mm officer’s sidearm bullet in Hitler’s head. Most German officers were too chickenshit and/or too happy with the early turn of European conquest to do it. By the time some were willing to kill Hitler with some not-so-reliable method, tens of millions of people had already died.

It takes balls to walk up to some big shot and put a bullet in their head.

              1. “Almost every time an American targets innocent Americans instead of government tyrants, it gives the government time to restrict the rights of Americans and tends to get public support on the side of government.”

Which is why I’m starting to feel like many of these acts are false flag operations perpetrated by some people who want more power and control. I’m not buying into any conspiracy theories nor making any accusations.

It’s just a feeling that something doesn’t seem right about these mass shootings.

Let’s just say that if I wanted to get people to support eliminating the 2A, then fomenting as many high-profile mass shootings as necessary to turn the tide of public opinion might not be too steep a price to pay.

I think that all these shootings are probably just really twisted idiots. But I believe there are evil people for whom the notion of setting these idiots off for their own purposes is just the sort of thing they’d do.

            2. I was involved with the Michigan Militia at the time.

              it’s all so clear now

        2. Dylan Root’s motives were pretty clear.

          1. So were James Hodgkinson’s.

    3. There would not have been a movement to free Mendel without published manisfestos to back him up. He was in jail for participating in bombings. Then he became president of South Africa. According to a recent Reason report, South Africa is now one of the few countries on Earth with a significant homicide rate. Who could have predicted that?

  4. Yes, yes, I’m sure President Trump will be blamed.

    1. “I shouted out ‘Who shot the immigrants?’, when after all it was Trump and me.”

      1. Whoo-who.

    2. Don’t forget the NRA.

      1. Democrats took less than an hour to blame the NRA.

        1. Beto didn’t even wait until all the victims were identified to blame Trump.

  5. Deranged Donnie tweets “Go back where you came from!”, he applauds “Send them back!” , and his white nationalist minions think “Why not just shoot them?”

    Hey Trump,
You can support the victims by accepting responsibility for inciting violence against Hispanics and other minority groups … and then immediately resign from office.

    1. I don’t recall the president calling for violence. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., said, “If you see anybody from that (Trump) Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
The wife of Republican Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner said that she received a graphic text message with a video of a beheading after he voted to confirm Kavanaugh.
During the Kavanaugh hearings Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins received a potentially deadly mailing of Ricin at her home.
The campaign manager for Nevada GOP gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt was allegedly grabbed and yanked by an operative for American Bridge 21st Century, funded by liberal billionaire George Soros.
The Laramie, Wyo. Republican office was set on fire, a case of arson, according to police.
But the president trying to enforce the law is the one responsible for all the violence?

      1. You’re nuts. The Dotard told some of his bloodthirsty rally attendees that he would pay their legal bills if they assaulted a black guy that had snuck in one of them.

        1. You got banned for posting kiddie porn links, no one cares what your pervert ass thinks.

Don’t go shooting up any malls because I made fun of you please. I’ve been told it’s my fault crazy trash like you loses their minds.

        2. It’s amazing watching retards give history reports.

Hey, turd! Does cherry-picking pay for your perv obsessions?

        4. Hey Kiddie Raper, did you know that Trump lives in your head? Probably no room for anything else between that and your lust for young children.

        5. “You’re nuts. The Dotard told some of his bloodthirsty rally attendees that he would pay their legal bills if they assaulted a black guy that had snuck in one of them.”

Trump’s endorsement of violence reaches new level: He may pay legal fees for assault suspect

Trump’s Coveted Blessings are upon us, Brethren, as we smite those who speak out against us!

        6. “if a progressive heckler who happened to be black charged anyone with assault”

Pretty sure if the progressive heckler had been white Trump would’ve said the same thing. But then you wouldn’t be able to toss a racism grenade.

In the same week Trump went off on Cummings, he dropped a load of tweets on Pelosi which were largely ignored because the former gave the media the chance to throw racism grenades, and they love that and the latter only gave them sexism which isn’t nearly as explosive as racism charges.

Because dropping stupid tweets is what Trump does, but tweet against a black man and he’s racist; the evidence that he attacks people of all races, genders, and even political persuasion shows Trump doesn’t discriminate.

Trump is stupid and coarse, but his lack of restraint in criticizing everyone he disagrees with, irrespective of their race, gender, etc. is far less racist than the media who think that minorities cannot be criticized, as if there are no positions that minorities could hold that can be honestly criticized. That’s some racism there!

If a black man went on TV and said that he thought kiddie porn and pedophilia were grand ideas, and Trump criticized him, the media would call Trump racist.

    2. “Hey Trump,
You can support the victims by accepting responsibility for inciting violence against Hispanics and other minority groups … and then immediately resign from office.”

Hey, labman, you can accept the fact that you’re a fucking ignoramus and fuck off.

    3. When Trump is reelected next year by a larger margin than he was elected in 2016, I hope you shit yourself inside out.

      1. I hope he offs himself. That will likely keep some children from being molested.

      2. The violence by the left should make 2016 pale in comparison.

      3. I hope he’s not re-elected, but I don’t want the Dems to win either. Which means I’m screwed either way I guess.

    4. BLM literally chanted for the death of police and their disciples executed a dozen or more cops. The Dallas police shooter proclaimed he wanted to kill white people. Chris Dorner ranted against the NRA.

Domestic terrorism kill around 20-50 people a year. The bombing at Sri Lanka alone killed 259 people. Half the squad won’t publicly condemn radical Islam.

Is this really whataboutism? No one cared when Obama caged families and sent untrackable guns to Mexico, or when the left incite riots and violence (see – Al Sharpton). Meanwhile the media consistently seek to validate notions that the rhetoric from the right causes violence, even falling for outright hoaxes like Smollett and Covington. They may have been right on this one incident. To be fair, the Breitbart crowd also play this game, and Trump sets himself up with some ugly rhetoric.

It should be said that anti white rhetoric in this country has been escalating for quite some time now. Some random company doesn’t employ enough nonwhites, they might be targeted. Some white guy wants to sell Mexican food, and he gets called out for cultural appropriation. Some white guy gets accuse of sexual harassment by a woman of color, and we have to give weight to the accuser by default.

Race based policy is now an obsession on the left, and some groups openly call for excluding whites and charging them differently? How many on the left defended Sarah Jeong? In a time of radicalization and mass shootings, a fringe of the white nationalist was bound to get ticked off. They start to believe in fantasies like genocide of whites when they see black or Latino activists loudly make whiteness an issue on EVERY single thing.

      1. It’s real but you just can’t say any of that without getting generalized as an evil “white nationalist trumpista”/babyish newspeak label du jour.

      2. Look how quickly the Virginia Beach shooting disappeared from the news. No condemnations of the people/groups that “radicalized” him.

Same with the school shooting by the transgender student.

There was more details published about that the loser that shot up the federal building in Dallas than the other two shootings combined.

    5. Fuck off SQRLSY.

    6. The idea that this violence was caused by Trump’s rhetoric is absurd.

What has caused this violence is that progressives have destroyed the hopes and dreams of an entire generation with their economic and social policies.

      1. “Absurd”, eh? Even in light of the below?

        https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-trump-campaign-protests-20160313-story.html
Trump’s endorsement of violence reaches new level: He may pay legal fees for assault suspect

Trump’s Coveted Blessings are upon us, Brethren, as we smite those who speak out against us!

        1. And by what mechanism does that that cause violence?

Maybe you are so mentally unstable that rhetoric causes you to become violent, but the vast majority of Americans are not.

          1. The Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the land blesses unjustified violence, and that has NO influence on those who want to find justification for their violence? “They aren’t gonna punish me, see the winks and nudges, lemme go ahead”. What planet did you say that you are from?

            1. “They aren’t gonna punish me, see the winks and nudges, lemme go ahead”

The threat of punishment has little influence on the propensity of murderers. On top of that, mass shooters expect to die anyway, so they aren’t concerned with punishment.

Furthermore, since Trump’s justice department has prosecuted white supremacists, racists, and terrorists of all stripes, you have to be an imbecile to read a promise of non-prosecution into his speeches.

              1. “Furthermore, since Trump’s justice department has prosecuted white supremacists, racists, and terrorists of all stripes…”

And Trump pays their legal bills? At least, if they are defending Trumpian ideals at a Trump rally? Isn’t that a pretty badly mixed message there? What excuses are you making, for Der TrumpfenFuhrer, on that score?

                1. You claimed that people turned into mass shooters because Trump has assured them that they wouldn’t be prosecuted.

We’ve seen that your claim is bullshit. Now you’re just flailing around and pulling random insults out of your ass.

          2. Technically, you’re correct. Der TrumpfenFuhrer isn’t CAUSING the violence, He is “merely” ENCOURAGING it! If He commands the launching of nuclear WW III, we could say the same, if He isn’t in the silos, pressing the launch buttons, I suppose! It is of NO comfort to me!

That’s some pretty weak tea you’re selling there, Bro…

            1. It is of NO comfort to me!

The only thing that would comfort you is to shove every conservative and independent into the ovens, because deep down, you are nothing but a brownshirt.

              1. It comforts me to chastise the brownshirts verbally. One in a million might actually be stimulated into thinking about what they are saying and doing. That’s enough motivation to keep me going!

Now, WHAT are your excuses for Der TrumpfenFurher’s encouragement of real-world brown-shirting, of real-world street brawling for the support of political ideas? Such as Trumpism?

                1. Now, WHAT are your excuses for Der TrumpfenFurher’s encouragement of real-world brown-shirting, of real-world street brawling for the support of political ideas? Such as Trumpism?

I’m making no excuses for anyone. However, I’m not worried about being attacked by Trump supporters because they seem overwhelmingly peaceful.

It comforts me to chastise the brownshirts verbally

Oh, you do more than that; in your spare time, you doubtlessly don your black balaclava and black outfit and go hit old people with lead pipes because that’s just the kind of person you evidently are.

    7. The Christchurch, New Zealand and El Paso killers were both extreme environmentalists, believing that the earth is overpopulated, and the overpopulation growth trends were in specific groups like Muslims and Hispanics.

Hey Environmentalists: You can support the victims by accepting responsibility for inciting violence against Hispanics and other minority groups … and then immediately shut down your activism.

  6. Why are white people shooting everything? Because they are the most marginalized and politically attacked race. When even your own government tells you are a piece of shit and you are the problem in the world that leaves you with few choices. Real race wars may be just around the corner. It depends on the next election and the lefts reaction to it, no matter who wins it

    1. Damn. Here I’ve been a white male for damn near sixty years and never realized I was due a pity-party. How in the world did it slip by me that I’m the “most marginalized and politically attacked race”. I can be pretty unobservant at times, but you’d think I’d have noticed the heavy burden of onerous oppression which makes my life a living hell.

Of course I’m not a right-wing snowflake crybaby pear-clutching hysterical clown, so maybe that has something to do with it….

      1. Tell me what other group is attacking any other race besides white people. btw Trump calling a city rat infested is not racist when the black mayor says its rat infested

        1. Calling a place rat infested that’s rat infested isn’t racist no matter who says it.

          It’s the truth.

And the truth can’t be racist.

      2. Fuck off Tony.

      3. “I can be pretty unobservant at times”

        And completely retarded too.

    2. White people aren’t shooting everything. Check out the homicide rates by race. Whites aren’t at the top of the list.

      1. Right wing white assholes are committing all the terrorist kills in the USA though.

        1. What would you attribute that to. Skin color?

        2. You mean like that one at a bank robbery in 2008 that you constantly claim was white people but has no citations?

You’re a loser who got banned for posting kiddie porn links. You’re lucky you’re not in jail.

        3. Uh huh. I’m sure all those country music fans in Las Vegas will be surprised to hear that. Oh, and that mentally challenged white guy who was tortured on facebook. And all the Republican congressmen dodging bullets on the softball field.

          1. Desperate Lefty times call for desperate Lefty measures.

        4. And a left wing asshole likes to rape children……..

Commit suicide Kiddie Raper. Do the children of the world a favor.

    3. “Why are white people shooting everything? Because they are the most marginalized and politically attacked race.”

I’ve seen this sort of crap often enough to know it isn’t sarc.
Hey, Ron! Misek shows up now and then to blame everything on the joooze; maybe you and he can get together to figure out who to blame for white people shooting others.
      I’m sure it’ll be a laugh riot.

      1. Keep repeating that to yourself and sleep peacefully at night. I’ m no right winger or jew hater, literally kicked an anti semite relative out of the house. That said i’m just an observer of what will happen, since history repeats

Keep making an ass of yourself and sleep the sleep of the ignorant.

    4. Statistically speaking, white people are not the ones shooting everything.

    5. Why are white people shooting everything?

What are you talking about? White people have among the lowest homicide and violent crime rates among all ethnic groups.

  7. In addition to thoughts & prayers, its time again for my Modest Proposal on assault-style weapons. First, I concede these guns differ from other semi-automatic rifle only in military cosmetics. But it’s exactly that neat-looking trim which makes these weapons so popular with gun nuts and mass murderers.

So why not continue to sell these really cool military-ish weapons, but in hollow plastic like everyone had as a kid? Maybe they can add a sound generator, so it goes rat-a-tat when you pull the trigger. That way, everybody wins. Gun nuts and mass murderers can still have their GI Joe experience, but at a lesser cost to everyone else. It’s the perfect solution! You see, I’m betting that plastic wouldn’t work as well in the “gear” section of the next murderer’s manifesto….

    1. This makes no sense at all.

      Does it matter or not?

    2. Maybe we need to think outside the box re gun legislation. No restrictions on ownership – but all working guns are required to be all pink with frilly lace and embedded sound chips with Oooh. I shoot like a girl.

    3. I have four generations of guns soon to be five more powerful than AR’s. None have ever or will ever be used in a crime

    4. Fuck off Tony.

    5. Handguns still account for 90% of all homicides dumbfuck.

    6. “its time again for my Modest Proposal on assault-style weapons”

      Fuck off twice Tony.

    7. It’s not about the gun. It’s about the person pulling the trigger. Really.

  8. Another right-wing terrorist shooting. Wingnuts and Trumptards will try to spin this but this is plain old terrorism.

    1. Yeah he’s so obviously motivated by right wing politics he decided to go to a WAL-MART, where all the progressives hang out, so he could take down as many as possible. You’re a moron.

      1. Fucking Wal-Mart is the preferred shopping center for you Deplorables – idiot. Wal-Mart is Redneck America.

        1. So he’s a right wing terrorist because he was probably just there shopping for a six pack of Coors already and got bored waiting in line. The terrorist thing has nothing to do with a political purpose, to you, does it? It’s just icky people being mean.

        2. Well said, Mr. Buttplug. This is the perfect time for you to deliver one of your frequent reminders that #PoorPeopleVoteRepublican. Even though we have decades of data confirming this, many people are unaware.

            1. Exactly.

The only reason Drumpf came within 3 million of Clinton’s popular vote total is because he won the lowest income bracket by a huge margin.

      2. I live in Wisconsin and I am an infrequent visitor to out local Walmart. I typically frequent other big box stores. When I have gone to Walmart I have noticed that a portion of their stock is targeted as Hispanics (food items mostly). Walmart typically markets to lower income groups and that would include Hispanics and other minorities in my community. So the image of Walmart as the store of choice for white nationalist is not necessarily true. I think the Walmart management knows their target consumers even if the rest of us do not.

        1. It was El Paso. There is a HUGE Hispanic population there.

Race and Ethnicity in El Paso, Texas

As of Sep 2018, there are approximately 540,000 people of Hispanic Ethnicity in El Paso, Tx. You can throw a rock in any direction and likely hit a Hispanic.

    2. And Democrats, socialists, and open borders “libertarians” will double down on open borders, gun control, and virtue signaling, because, of course, the existence of a terrorist opposing their policies proves that their policies must be right!

  10. In related news, AOC declared that the descendants of Arabic speaking colonizers have a right to riot against the Hebrew speaking families that repatriated to Israel, and an Arab Israeli who join ISIS in Syria wants Israel to take him back.

He made good points in his plea. First, he was a medic for ISIS, not a fighter. Doctors Without Borders cures everyone in a conflict zone and during the Syrian civil war, Israel established field hospitals near it’s northern border to treat anyone from Syria who came to them, no questions asked. Furthermore, he went to Syria, because the dictatorship there was horrible. He loves Israel and praises it as a democracy that gives rights to Jews and Arabs alike. If he had blown up a bus full of Israeli Jews instead of joining ISIS, he would now be in a relatively comfortable Israeli prison using his cell phone and collecting a pension from the PA that America established under Clinton.

    1. “In related news, AOC declared that the descendants of Arabic speaking colonizers have a right to riot against the Hebrew speaking families that repatriated to Israel, and an Arab Israeli who join ISIS in Syria wants Israel to take him back.”

“Once someone doesn’t have access to clean water, they have no choice but to riot, right?”

      2. I had trouble finding the article that mentioned him being a medic, but the local papers here all cite his BBC interview where he said he picked ISIS over Hamas or Fatah because Israel is good and Syria was brutal.

        https://m.jpost.com/Israel-News/Captured-Israeli-Arab-ISIS-fighter-Israel-is-a-democratic-state-597035

  11. Say what you want, but that was actually pretty ballsy of him. Walmart sells guns in the sporting goods section, one of the clerks could easily have taken him out (assuming they weren’t short staffed that is). He’s lucky to still be alive.

Then again, it could have been a murder-suicide misssion, so yeah, that checks out.

    1. Did you ever try to find an employee in Walmart? They don’t exists.

      1. And the one with the key to the guns and ammo is always on vacation

        1. Exactly this. During the great ammo shortage, probably around 2014 or so, I noticed that the local walmart actually had 4 boxes of .22LR in the case and at a “normal” price. But it took about an hour to actually get anyone to open the case.

      2. That’s not fair. They have plenty of employees, it’s just that they can’t help you for a variety of reasons. (first day on the job, senility, etc)

  12. If guns are the problem, why has no presidential candidate disarmed THEIR taxpayer funded armed security guards?I
It’s almost as if they are hypocrites or something…

    1. How about a compromise like much of Europe and Canada where you can have guns if you do the appropriate training to get the appropriate permit?

Nope? No compromise? Grenade launchers for children?

      Thought so.

      1. Poor Tony hates the 2A and its absolute protection of gun rights.

        1. It doesn’t mention guns.

          1. And Tony goes full Hihn.

          2. Yes it does.

Right next to where it says “abortion.”

            1. …next too “healtcare” too.

              1. *damn “Healthcare”

            2. May the best extra-constitutional activists win, bitch.

          3. That is why I have the right to own a cannon too.

            1. And a nuclear weapon.

              1. I want the Iron Man armor.

            2. Arms is not ordnance. Learn the fucking language.

          4. Good thing “guns” is a modern colloquial term for “Arms” as mentioned in the 2nd Amendment.

All Arms control in the USA is unconstitutional and therefore illegal, including but not limited to: Rifles, swords, knives, pistols, grenades, bombs, tanks, ships, nukes, planes, fully automatic rifles, all associated ammunition and equipment, and any other Armament ever created in the future.

2A: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

            1. SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

              1. +100

      2. And who admonisters this training?

The same bunch of people who administered literacy tests?

        1. I hope you did that on purpose – – – –

        2. Lois Lerner, who else could do it objectively?

      3. OK. I paid $75 for 8 hours class training plus an additional 4 hours or so firing a qualification score at the firing range to get certified as eligible to apply for a handgun carry permit.
I then filled out the application for a permit, was photographed, fingerprinted, and paid an application fee of $115. I passed background checks with the state and federal bureaus of investigation.
Tony, that still was not enough for anti-gun activists like you. They are still working their derierres off to repeal my state’s right-to-carry law. For years the big city newspaper put the carry permit list complete with residence address on their website so activists could identify permit holders.
I strongly support your decision to publish an online searchable database of citizens who are permitted to carry concealed handguns. Any private citizen who carries a loaded, concealed handgun in and among the public constitutes a potential threat to public safety. Those individuals are not law enforcement officials and have no official authorization guiding their individual decisions to draw and fire their weapons in public. Hence, the public’s only recourse is information: If we know who these people are who carry concealed weapons, we can give them wide berth and/or keep their actions under close scrutiny.

The local newspaper for awhile posted carry permit status with any report of criminal or reckless use of a weapon in public. NONE OF THE BAD GUYS HAD A CARRY PERMIT. AS BEFORE THE R-T-C LAW THEY CARRIED ILLEGALLY AND WOULD NOT BE ON A LIST.

      4. That’s not how it works in Europe.

And despite the semantic contortions people go through, the vast majority of murders are committed with illegal guns.

Legal gun owners are an order of magnitude less likely to commit murder than the average American.

How is training and more licensing going to help?

      5. Democrats defend the Bans in DC and Chicago overturned by SCOTUS in Heller 2008 and McDonald 2010 and the status quo in NYC: you apply for a carry permit, the first application is almost always denied, then you hire a lawyer who knows the system, $5,000 later you may get a carry permit. 25,000 legal permits in a city of 8 million people, with NYPD and federal ATF offering estimates of one or two million illegal handguns alone in NYC.

Reasonable control to prohibitionists is prohibition and compromise is always in the direction of prohibition.

      6. “How about a compromise like much of Europe and Canada where you can have guns if you do the appropriate training to get the appropriate permit?”

You mean like California? Still plenty of mass shootings here.

  13. Why would gun restrictions prevent a mass casualty event at Walmart where the shelves contain lighters, candles, and fumigation bombs that say “warning: flammable”?

    1. Not to mention propane. They keep the 1 pound bottles in the sporting goods section.

  14. What we need in the US is more gun control and less political correctness. So I’m going to predict we’ll be getting less gun control and more political correctness.

    1. The U.S. already has gun control.

All ot has to show for it are more young black men in prison

    2. All gun control in the USA is unconstitutional and therefore illegal as per the 2nd Amendment.

  15. So which one of you has been missing here all day?

    1. Me, but I’ve got an airtight alibi – I was shooting up a Starbucks in San Jose.

    2. I’m in the clear too. I was beating the hell out of everyone at the local democrat party office.

  16. Sarcasmic is MIA.

    1. Yes, “Rev.” Arthur L. Kirkland. And now let’s talk about what makes these young men so desperate, poorly educated, violent, and angry.

Is it charter schools, hard work, a sense of personal responsibility, a dedication to free markets, fiscal responsibility, and Christianity that make them desperate, poorly educated, violent, and angry? You know, what conservatives preach?

Or is it public schools, a sense of victimhood, racial devisions, competition from third world labor, massive government debt, artificially inflated real estate prices, massive wealth transfers from young people to retirees, and racially divisive policies that have failed to educate them and robbed them of their futures?

And when people like you down their long, powdered noses at lower class kids and mock them and ridicule them, it’s your rhetoric (not Trump’s) that probably pushes some of them over the edge.

(Incidentally, many of your characterizations are false; for example, the killer is anti-capitalist and anti-corporate, i.e., a left-winger. He happens to be a racist left-winger, but there’s no contradiction in that.)

    2. Southerner . . . check.

      Bigot . . . check.

  20. I know this makes me sound like a stereotypical Jew, but guys, guys, could we stop with the killing and the maiming. Every time I put salt in my food at the soup kitchen.

    1. I wonder if the “words have no consequences” crowd here will find a way to blame “The Jews” for the mass killing that you have linked to…

      1. Oh, words have consequences. But whose words?

Is it Trump’s “I feel your pain and I understand that cheap third world labor and massive government debt is destroying your future” rhetoric?

Or is the Democrat’s “You’re all a bunch of illiterate, racist deplorables, you’re worthless, your masculinity is toxic, you’re racist because of your skin color, you need to pay reparations, and the only thing we are going to do for you is force you to spend a few more years under government indoctrination before forcing you to ‘check your privilege’ for your entire life” rhetoric?

Which of those two classes of statements do you think will result in the radicalization of unstable, desperate young men?

        1. Both of them are leading to, and will continue to lead towards, way sub-optimal results!!!

A true libertarian set of policies would do FAR better than trade wars and border wars and orgies of woke-ness and political correctness, to give us all a better future! De-regulation of working conditions (licenses especially), and freeing up housing regulations to make (urban especially) housing more affordable. Flat-out killing the stupid drug war! Keeping a closer eye on police abuses, and making the justice system just, not a “cash cow” to abuse the poor for the benefits of Our Rulers. Giving welfare back to private givers; not taxpayers at the point of guns. I could go on… But the Party of Evil and the Party of Stupid are making few meaningful gestures to get us to where we need to go.

          1. Both of them are leading to, and will continue to lead towards, way sub-optimal results!!!

Yes, but Trump’s rhetoric is the consequence of, and inevitable reaction to, decades of progressivism and creeping socialism.

A true libertarian set of policies would do FAR better than trade wars and border wars and orgies of woke-ness and political correctness, to give us all a better future!

It would be. But you can’t bring about a “libertarian set of policies” by pushing libertarian policies individually. Open borders are a common goal of both libertarianism and socialism, but if you advocate open borders in the context of our current democratic welfare states, you are promoting socialism, not libertarianism.

But the Party of Evil and the Party of Stupid are making few meaningful gestures to get us to where we need to go.

Another faux-libertarian mistake: “The reason this country isn’t working better is because the wrong political parties are in power. If only we could put Libertarians in charge, they would impose libertarian policies on the American people, if necessary by force!”

Actual libertarianism requires advocacy, education, and voluntary change, the opposite of what Koch/Reason libertarians are advocating.

            1. ” if you advocate open borders in the context of our current democratic welfare states, you are promoting socialism, not libertarianism.”

              Yep

              1. Double yep.

            2. But you can’t bring about a “libertarian set of policies” by pushing libertarian policies individually.

Oh I see. Either legalize all drugs, or throw every pot user in jail. No in between then.

              1. Well, your response is another testament to your simplistic way of thinking.

                1. I can’t believe I’m defending Pedo Jeffy, but I think he was making a weak attempt at sarcasm.

                  1. He was. But his sarcasm was based on his ignorance

      2. I wonder if the “words have no consequences” crowd here will find a way to blame “The Jews” for the mass killing that you have linked to…

Misek usually doesn’t post on weekends.

  21. Hey, just a simple honest question for all the morons and hypocrites:

Say “words have consequences” here and now on this site, and watch the hypocrites jump your shit! Which is closer to the truth:

    “Words have consequences”? …or…
    “Words have NO consequences”?

If “Words have NO consequences”, then why do you show up at this web site to yell at those who you disagree with (or hate, in many cases)?

Just a simple question here, I am really curious…

    1. “Hey, just a simple honest question for all the morons and hypocrites:”
” then why do you show up at this web site to yell at those who you disagree with (or hate, in many cases)?”

      Oh, the irony.

      1. But I’m not with the Moronic Tribe who subscribes to …

        “Words have NO consequences”

I have enough simple knowledge to know that if I insult my boss all day, I get fired. If I insult hubby or wife all day, I get divorced or abandoned… I may even get pots and pans thrown at me.

        1. You obviously missed the point.

          1. I must have! Please tell me your point then!

        2. SQRLSY, if I told you that the next time I see one of your posts here at Reason, no matter what the contents of the post was, it would compel me to set a hospital on fire, would you continue to post? If you did continue to post here, how much responsibility should society assign you for the ensuing hospital fire?

          1. Zero, zilch, NADA… Your doing, not mine. I have posted here a longer explanation of the details of what I think, at…

Ethically, morally, spewing hatred at others (even if no violence whatsoever is committed, nor any conspiracy to commit violence) is a BAD thing, not a GOOD thing, and I WILL continue to speak out against unethical, immoral, and EVIL words and behavior!

            1. Then words, by themselves, don’t have consequences. There must be some accompanying intent to harass. Advocating the enforcement of immigration law is not harassment. Idiots who take such words as a call to arms are just that: idiots.

            2. Ethically, morally, spewing hatred at others (even if no violence whatsoever is committed, nor any conspiracy to commit violence) is a BAD thing, not a GOOD thing,

Saying “I don’t want illegal migrants coming into the country by the thousands” isn’t hatred. Saying “people who break our laws should be punished” isn’t hatred. Saying “people should be treated equally under the law” isn’t hatred.

and I WILL continue to speak out against unethical, immoral, and EVIL words and behavior!

What you’re actually doing is trying to suppress political opposition to leftist ideologies, the very ideologies that are gradually destroying the wealth and social fabric of this country.

And this is nothing new either; this is the usual vicious cycle of socialism and fascism: it divides people, creates grievances and hate to gain political power, and when anger and violence inevitably follow, it uses that to gain more power and intensify the destructive policies. And you’re participating in that vicious cycle.

              1. I’m discouraging extremists and calling down the hotheads, is what I’m trying to do.

To see a not-too-long, but still fact-filled, summary of how extreme and counter-productive our immigration policies have gotten, see Cato…

Here’s a good read for those who still have an open mind… Cato…
                https://www.cato.org/policy-report/januaryfebruary-2019/myths-facts-immigration-policy

                1. Let’s look at that.

The median immigrant from a developing country can expect a fourfold increase in their economic output by working here. American capital, security, and freer markets make them that much more productive with virtually all of the gains captured by the U.S. economy. Economist Michael Clemens wrote that even small immigration liberalizations are potentially worth trillions of dollars in economic output as immigrants move from countries where they are unproductive to ones where they have tremendously higher output. He described that wasted opportunity as akin to leaving “trillion-dollar bills on the sidewalk.”

First of all, Cato is talking about immigrants not illlegal aliens. Their statistics include legal immigrants, which makes it irrelevant to the discussion about illegal aliens. Yet, later, they switch to discussing illegal migrants and conflating them with immigrants.

Second, the argument is about an aggregate measure for the combined population of immigrants and Americans. That’s the wrong measure to look at. The only measure that matters for immigration is whether it makes Americans better off.

There is absolutely no question that illegal migration is economically and socially harmful to Americans as a whole, and even more harmful to particularly vulnerable positions. Until very recently, both the left and the right understood that in the US. Legal, well-managed, limited immigration focusing on skilled labor is the only feasible policy for any social welfare state.

You have to be blinded by ideology to believe the arguments in the Cato white paper.

                  1. The only measure that matters for immigration is whether it makes Americans better off.

I agree! And what would make Americans better off is if American employers could hire the workers of their choice.

                    1. That’s objectively false.

                    2. That’s objectively false.

It is? Aren’t the American employers also Americans? Wouldn’t they be better off?

By what metric do you declare that it is “objectively” false that permitting American employers could hire the workers of their choice would make Americans better off?

                    3. It is? Aren’t the American employers also Americans? Wouldn’t they be better off?

When you bribe a government official, you also often end up better off; that doesn’t make bribery a good thing.

By what metric do you declare that it is “objectively” false that permitting American employers could hire the workers of their choice would make Americans better off?

By the usual metrics of economic success and wealth: GDP per capita, income per capita, average productivity, average wealth, tax revenue per capita, etc. All of those decrease when you bring in millions of people from low skill countries with different cultures.

                    4. When you bribe a government official, you also often end up better off; that doesn’t make bribery a good thing.

You’re right! Now, to complete your argument, you’ll have to show how advocating for American employers to hire the employees of their choice is tantamount to bribery. I’ll wait.

Or, instead, maybe the whole bribery thing is a non-sequitur. Which it is.

By the usual metrics of economic success and wealth: GDP per capita, income per capita, average productivity, average wealth, tax revenue per capita, etc. All of those decrease when you bring in millions of people from low skill countries with different cultures.

All of these metrics have only increased over time, in the US. And yet we supposedly have this crisis of illegal immigration, and all these millions of illegal laborers here. So please demonstrate how, “objectively”, permitting American employers to hire the employees of their choice is “bad for America”.

                    5. You’re right! Now, to complete your argument, you’ll have to show how advocating for American employers to hire the employees of their choice is tantamount to bribery. I’ll wait.

You said that what’s of benefit to American employers is of benefit to the American people. I showed (by counterexample) that your statement is false. Since you haven’t articulated in what way you think your policies benefit the American people, I can’t do anything more than that.

All of these metrics have only increased over time, in the US. And yet we supposedly have this crisis of illegal immigration, and all these millions of illegal laborers here.

Those metrics have indeed increased, but at a slower rate than they have historically, and at a slower rate than they should. Populations particularly negatively affected by low skill migrations are poor and low skill Americans.

    2. “Words have consequences”? …or…
      “Words have NO consequences”?

False dichotomy. Words do have consequences. Sometimes those consequences are political change, at other times they are radicalization of unstable young males.

Political words clearly have consequences. In particular, the words of Democrats and progressives (in addition to their policies) have the consequence of making unstable, desperate young men very angry and driving a small minority of psychopaths to mass murder.

      1. Agreed. Now there is a reasonably nuanced summary.

The Donald and His Trumpistas are equal or near-equal offenders along with the socialist, sad to say. Different scapegoats; same game.

        1. “Both sides!” screech the leftists so they don’t have to admit being in the wrong

          1. “There are some very good people on both sides.”
            Said by SQRLSY or Trump?

        2. Just look at your language: “The Donald and His Trumpistas”. You are full of contempt and hatred.

You know who voted for Trump? Probably not. I do: some of my neighbors and family did. They did so not out of anger or racism or hatred, they did so because they were afraid for their jobs, for the economy, and for their children, and much as they disliked Trump, they looked at the alternative and it was even worse. I have heard none of them talk about Democrats or Hillary supporters with the kind of childishness, meanness and contempt you use.

The real hate mongers and deplorables are people like you, not the reluctant Trump voters.

          1. This is why folks voted for Trump:

The Many Scandals of Donald Trump: A Cheat Sheet

All Hail to THE Pussy Grabber in Chief!!!

I fundamentally think that a huge percentage of Trump voters (who bothered to study up in the slightest) voted for a Pussy-Grabber in Chief who would pussy-grab for them, on behalf of them and theirs! If PGC (Pussy-Grabber in Chief) could pussy-grab the people whose loans he defaulted on, people who’d been ripped off by his “school”, and illegal humans who’d worked on building his buildings, and on and on, then SURELY the PGC can grab some pussy for us selfish, short-sighted voters! We can pussy-grab our international trade partners, and other nations, races, and creeds in general!

These voters simply cannot or will not recognize the central illusion of politics… You can pussy-grab all of the people some of the time, and you can pussy-grab some of the people all of the time, but you cannot pussy-grab all of the people all of the time! Sooner or later, karma catches up, and the others will pussy-grab you right back!

Other choice Hillary? OK, I can understand a Trump vote. There was NO excuse for voting for Trump in the “R” primary! His evil was already plain for all to see!

            1. I fundamentally think that a huge percentage of Trump voters (who bothered to study up in the slightest) voted for a Pussy-Grabber in Chief who would pussy-grab for them, on behalf of them and theirs!

I have no doubt that you “fundamentally think” that, thereby proving again how ignorant, full of hate, and full of contempt you are.

then SURELY the PGC can grab some pussy for us selfish, short-sighted voters!

Democrats ran on a platform of more free stuff and more government coercion, Trump did not.

There was NO excuse for voting for Trump in the “R” primary!

Trump was the only candidate who had a chance of winning against Hillary; that’s why voters voted for him.

His evil was already plain for all to see!

Trump’s policies are similar to those that Obama ran on, or Bill Clinton. I didn’t vote for Trump last time, but next time I likely will, precisely because he has turned out to be a pretty middle-of-the-road candidate politically.

            2. You quote the Atlantic a lot you socialist asshole.

              1. I know, right?
If it’s not Breitbart or Gateway Pundit, it’s an obvious lie!

              2. I checked a media-grading site, it’s easy to find, I am too lazy to find it right now… They rated the Atlantic to be MILDLY to the liberal side. They’re NOT commies!

Here is a link (fresh off the presses no less) to The Atlantic that is HIGHLY relevant to this main thread right here!!!

                https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/08/trump-getting-worse/595453/
                He’s Getting Worse
Trump is turning the American presidency into a platform for the wholesale demonization of minorities.

                1. Trump is turning the American presidency into a platform for the wholesale demonization of minorities.

If you look at FBI crime statistics, economic statistics, and statistics of illegal migrants, he’s simply laying out the facts, and facts that progressives and Democrats actually agree with. What rankles Democrats is that Trump is holding them accountable for the many decades that Democrats have sold these groups down the river.

They rated the Atlantic to be MILDLY to the liberal side. They’re NOT commies!

Of course not. The Atlantic is a magazine for and by American intellectuals, a group of people in bed with old-style Democrats, who favor corporate cronyism, high taxes, wars, and an increase in the welfare state out of their own self-interest. Unlike The Atlantic, socialists and communists are at least honest.

                  1. “…he’s simply laying out the facts…”

When you offer to pay the legal bills of someone who responds to mere words, with violence, then you are actively taking their side! He is NOT just laying out the facts, he is VERY clearly signalling his support of those who use violence, against those who do not support Trump!

                    https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-trump-campaign-protests-20160313-story.html
Trump’s endorsement of violence reaches new level: He may pay legal fees for assault suspect

Trump’s Coveted Blessings are upon us, Brethren, as we smite those who speak out against us!

                    1. When you offer to pay the legal bills of someone who responds to mere words, with violence, then you are actively taking their side!

Trump said he was “looking into it”, a perfectly reasonable response when a 78 year old man has an altercation with a disruptive young protester at a private venue. The presumption in that case is that the young protester is at fault. That’s not an “endorsement of violence”. As it turns out, McGraw initiated a physical confrontation. What should have happened, of course, is that Jones should have been ejected by security.

Trump’s endorsement of violence reaches new level

Well, if this is the worst Trump is supposed to have done, then Trump must be a pretty non-violent guy!

    3. I haven’t read this thread, but the question to me isn’t whether words have consequences. So long as words don’t violate anyone’s rights, people should be free to say what they like–even if the consequences of their words are negative.

The First Amendment doesn’t protect the right to violate other people’s rights with your speech any more than the Second Amendment protects the right to violate other people’s rights with a gun. The point is that so long as no one’s rights are being violated, people should be free to say what they please even when the speech in question has negative consequences.

The First Amendment protects stupid religions that are harmful to society, and the First Amendment protects stupid speech that is harmful to society, too. Where in the First Amendment does it say that speech is only permissible if it’s not harmful to society? Why should I believe that the negative consequences of violating people’s right to free speech if the only speech we stop is stupid?

I believe the net benefits of free speech to society are worth the negative consequences of some awful speech, but let’s never confuse that with the idea that speech is only permissible if it’s a net benefit to society–if it doesn’t have any negative consequences.

      1. Spot on Ken!!!

If I condemn something in moral and ethical terms, way too many people immediately think that I want to outlaw it. When all “good” things are mandated, and all “bad” things are prohibited, we have no individual freedom left. The current anti-free-speech movement(s) is/are VERY scary, to me… Freedom-loving people, MeThinks, need to more forthrightly argue that the span of “this is unethical or immoral, but it shouldn’t be against the law” should INCREASE, not DECREASE!

        1. Yeah, for example, I don’t think much of grown men who sit around getting high and playing video games all day, but, no, that doesn’t mean I want marijuana to be illegal.

The corollary to the idea that if I criticize something, I must want the government to stop it is that if I want something to remain legal, I have to pretend that it doesn’t have any bad consequences.

It’s not enough to support the legalization of marijuana in some of these people’s minds. I also have to pretend that losers don’t abuse the stuff and that a grown man sitting around high all the time and playing video games, while someone else supports him, isn’t a loser.

          1. Oh look, the loud mouth has something to day. You’d better off playing video games and smoking weed.

    4. SQRLSY One,
When I said words have no consequences, I was responding only to the post that you made, not necessarily to words in general. Your post was specifically about people on websites and “oozing hatred” and it was just a matter of time someone goes off and acts violently.

In that context, in your post, I was saying that no, I disagreed, and that words, in that context, have no consequence. The perpetrator of violence may have read “hatred” or saw a “hatred” meme, but the individual took it upon themselves to act. The person chose to read hate-filled diatribes. Unless someone is literally forcing you to read objectionable hate, then the person is responsible for their actions, not the words they read or saw because they made all of those choices.

I then followed up with an additional response to you, not sure if you saw it, where I was questioning who gets to dictate what “hatred” is, and how humans, every single one of us, have preconceived stereotypes about everyone else around us.

I didn’t mean that words have no consequences ever. I apologize for not saying my response was limited to your post.

      1. I read your posts, thanks! You sound like a level-headed (balanced) gal, for being “Judgmental Know-It-All Gal”!!!

(Is that a Super-Gal job, does it come with splashy-colored spandex, boots, and a cape!?!?)

        1. Thanks for responding! I try to be balanced, but it is getting harder every year now that politics have intruded into every aspect of our lives.

My “Judgmental Know-It-All” is in response to all those commentators here who literally think they know it all and are quite judgmental about other people they’ve never even met or taken the time to get to know. Lack of intellectual discourse is rampant in some threads here at Reason. You, yourself, have been the “victim” of some of those commentators.

Sadly, it doesn’t come with a cool outfit though. It would be awesome! I bet my husband would LOVE that so let’s not mention it to him, ok? 😉

  22. Dayton, Ohio, shooting leaves 9 dead, 26 injured; suspect shot to death by cops, police say

I wonder why hack writer Boehm and reason dont have an article on the Dayton OH shooting that happened hours after the Walmart shooting?

    1. 5 people killed, 63 more wounded in Fourth of July weekend shootings in Chicago

reason is very concerned about “mass shootings” in the USA which is why I easily found Boehm doing numerous articles on Chicago shooting violence in 2019.

Yup. 5 killed in a single shooting and 63 people wounded around Chicago on July 4th weekend.

      1. 6 shot Monday Jul 30, 2019 in Chicago

Yup. 6 people shot in one day.

I guess reason was not THAT concerned with shootings in Chicago.

      2. Three people were wounded — one critically — in a shooting Sunday in Austin on the West Side.

I wonder why shootings almost every day in Chicago don’t make national news with a Narrative about Chicago being a comparatively dangerous shithole.

        1. Chicago had more killings in less than a week than these mass shootings lawless together.

    2. Or the illegal immigrant serial killer that killed at least 13. It’s a one way narrative. And dumbfucks like tony and sqrly believe it

    3. Dayton shooter apparently is a warren loving, gun grabbing, socialist. Crickets at reason.

  23. There isn’t anything we should start doing because of the shooting in El Paso that we shouldn’t start doing for other reasons anyway, and there isn’t anything we should stop doing because of the shooting in El Paso that we shouldn’t stop doing for other reasons anyway.

And the motivation of the shooter doesn’t make any difference in that equation.

It’s a pointless tragedy. I defy anyone to demonstrate otherwise. Show me something we should start doing or stop doing because of this tragedy that we shouldn’t have started doing or stopped doing before this tragedy for other reasons.

Anybody who climbs on top of these bodies to score political points should be ashamed of themselves.

    1. “There isn’t anything we should start doing ”

I disagree. We should all start pretending that the motivation of the shooter doesn’t make any difference.

    2. I get what you’re saying, but this type of thing can (and maybe should) reorder the priorities.

      1. Just to expand on that…

I don’t think there is anything the government can practically do to reduce the frequency of these types of shooting. If the government could significantly reduce private gun ownership then it stands to reason that mass shootings would become less common, but that’s not politically or practically feasible in the US in 2019, and even if it was possible, I oppose it on principle.

But it sure does seem like there is something at work in our culture that leads a handful of people each year to decide to kill as many innocent strangers as they can. I don’t know exactly what the source of that rot is, or what we as individuals and people in more visible positions of leadership can do to combat it, but ratcheting down the political rhetoric and resisting the urge to sensationalize shootings and consume media coverage of it as a form of gross entertainment certainly can’t hurt. If this were an isolated incident those things would still be good ideas but maybe not very high priority. As it stands, maybe we should all try to focus on them a little bit more with the limited amount of time and cognitive energy that we have.

        1. I don’t think there is anything the government can practically do to reduce the frequency of these types of shooting

Sure there is: stop destroying the future of American kids through borrowing, stop destroying free markets, stop dividing people by race, and start fostering a culture based on self-reliance, personal responsibility, and achievement. Kids who work towards a goal and who have a shot at a better life don’t go around shooting others.

          1. stop destroying free markets

Does this include the labor market?

            1. Why, yes: Democrats and progressives are destroying the American labor market in many ways.

Incidentally, the importation of third world labor or one-sided “free trade” with oppressive regimes are not part of a free market.

              1. So you’re in favor of removing regulations on the labor market then. Such as, perhaps, the regulation which makes it a crime for American businesses to hire undocumented immigrants?

                1. Which part of “Incidentally, the importation of third world labor or one-sided “free trade” with oppressive regimes are not part of a free market.” did you have trouble understanding?

                  1. He has trouble understand. all of it.

                  2. Oh I understand that you assert such a thing. That doesn’t make the assertion correct.

An employer being able to choose any potential employee that he/she wishes is the very definition of a free labor market. Immigration laws, to the extent that they hinder this choice, represent restrictions on the free market.

You can’t have it both ways. Either you support the free market, including labor market, or you support nativist restrictions on the free market to boost employment prospects of the native-born over others. Choose one.

                    1. An employer being able to choose any potential employee that he/she wishes is the very definition of a free labor market.

No, it is not. A free market is a market in which all market participants can engage in voluntary transactions with each other according to conditions they choose.

With open borders, the market participants are labor across the world and employers across the world.

Can US workers work freely in other countries? No.

Can US workers choose the conditions under which they work for US companies? Hell no (high taxes, regulations, mandatory insurance programs, etc.).

Can US companies choose the conditions under which they operate in the US? No.

I’m all for global free markets and global free labor markets. But what you want is one-sided regulatory capture, not a free labor market.

                2. As soon as you come put in favor of the distortions based on the welfare state baby jeffrey.

                  1. What? Your comment makes no sense.

          2. stop destroying the future of American kids through borrowing

I see no evidence that this and other shooters are motivated by the federal debt and deficit.

            stop destroying free markets

Do you happen to have statistics on the socioeconomic status of mass shooters? My anecdotal impression is that many, maybe even most, are reasonably well off (I know nothing about the most recent incidents).

            stop dividing people by race

Here we agree. Politicians are all too happy to play to racial tensions to score political points. It’s a pervasive problem on the left and right. I would group this under “ratcheting down the political rhetoric”.

start fostering a culture based on self-reliance, personal responsibility, and achievement

Here, here. But I don’t know how the government is supposed to exert that kind of control over the larger culture. Culture is an inherently bottom-up phenomenon and really isn’t conducive to top-down control. That’s not to say that politicians don’t influence culture – their visibility alone makes them influential. But I think the way they do so is complex and difficult to direct toward a specific endpoint.

If you are referring to welfare programs, then, again, I’d like to see some statistics on how many mass shooters are actually on welfare programs.

            1. I didn’t say that these people become mass shooters because they are poor, I said that they become mass shooters because they don’t see any future for themselves. You know, the same kind of frustration and hopelessness that has caused white blue collar workers to go over to Trump. So, I’m in agreement with the article to the degree that these kinds of people are likely to be Trump voters.

            2. Oops… posted too soon. So, I’m in agreement with the article to the degree that these kinds of people are likely to be Trump voters. But their hopelessness wasn’t caused by Trump’s rhetoric, it was caused by decades of bad government, economic mismanagement and broken promises.

              1. Or, maybe they are racist assholes who take Trump’s words at face value.

                1. Yes, people take Trump at face value: he promised to remove illegal migrants from the country, like most Democrats and Republicans before him.

I don’t see what’s “racist” about wanting illegal migrants removed from the country, in particular given that most of those illegal migrants are white to begin with.

                  1. I said the SHOOTERS are racist, not Trump. I don’t think Trump is particularly racist. He’s just an idiot surrounded by demagogues and assholes.

                    1. I said the SHOOTERS are racist

Both the shooter and his victims were of the same race, so in what way were his motives “racist”?

                2. Pedo Jeffy, you’re not even an American. You’re just some jerk off from Toronto that has probably never met anyone from Central America.

Plus you’re really stupid. So fuck off now. Bye bye.

                  1. I’m not an American? I have a birth certificate that states otherwise. Although I would like to visit Toronto at some point. Perhaps next summer I’ll be able to travel there. Care to recommend any sights to see there?

                    1. No, you were outed recently. You’re a Toronto college student of some kind. So stop lying.

              2. But why are they hopeless? Is it that they may be materially OK but lack community?

Any why lash out violently at total, innocent strangers? Why, in this case, direct so much hatred towards immigrants? Is this just the evil minority of a larger group that might otherwise just mumble but go on with their lives, or maybe turn to drugs or some other escape?

This is where I think the current political/cultural divisions, and the people who stoke them, bear some responsibility. Not for this particular act of evil but for their part in creating a climate that stokes hatred.

But I don’t think you can blame anti-immigrant rhetoric on the right or the demonization of the white working class as racist on the left for all these shootings. I don’t see how that plays into a kid who shoots up a school or someone who just fires indiscriminately into a crowd at a concert or some other event. I don’t know what is causing that more general rot.

                1. This is where I think the current political/cultural divisions, and the people who stoke them, bear some responsibility. Not for this particular act of evil but for their part in creating a climate that stokes hatred.

Mass murderers are psychopaths; you can’t eliminate psychopathy by changing “political/cultural divisions”.

And you’re trivializing very real social and economic problems as if they were all about rhetoric. Mass immigration and low skill immigration are policy choices that have real consequences in people’s lives. Democrats want more of it, Republicans want to stop it.

Why, in this case, direct so much hatred towards immigrants?

Low skill migrants and immigrants have taken over a lot of traditional blue collar jobs.

                  1. Low skill migrants and immigrants have taken over a lot of traditional blue collar jobs.

Bullshit. ROBOTS have taken over a lot of traditional blue collar jobs. Demagogues like Steven Miller want to scapegoat low-skill migrants and Chinamen as the reason why their jobs are gone.

                    1. Bullshit. ROBOTS have taken over a lot of traditional blue collar jobs.

Robots have taken over manufacturing jobs, but that’s only a small sector of blue collar jobs. Construction, landscaping, maintenance, etc. is dominated by Hispanics.

                  2. Mass murderers are psychopaths; you can’t eliminate psychopathy by changing “political/cultural divisions”

Sometimes, but this seems too simplistic to me in many cases. These aren’t serial killers and often don’t have a history of particularly violent behavior. This most recent shooter seems to have been motivated at least in part by a desire to “defend” the USA from what he saw as “invaders”. It goes without saying that that’s wrong, but it doesn’t seem like the motivation of a psychopath.

And you’re trivializing very real social and economic problems as if they were all about rhetoric.

I’m certainly not trying to trivialize them so I’m sorry if it came off that way. It just seems like a lot of these shooters aren’t experiencing those problems very acutely. But maybe I’m wrong about that.

Low skill migrants and immigrants have taken over a lot of traditional blue collar jobs.

Some jobs, yes, though as chemjeff points out automation has had a bigger impact. But, again, was this guy impacted in that way? I don’t know his background but it will be interesting to find out. Not that it justifies his actions (I know you and most people know this, but one can’t be too explicit about these types of things sometimes).

And even if he was, I think anti-immigrant rhetoric may have been a factor in him going from disgruntled and angry to violent.

                    1. It just seems like a lot of these shooters aren’t experiencing those problems very acutely. But maybe I’m wrong about that.

I’m not sure what “experiencing very acutely” would be. For example, consider a fairly high scoring white middle class male who gets rejected from Harvard and Yale because those colleges prefer a female minority applicant with much lower scores. Objectively, that middle class kid still has a good future ahead of him, but he may still be experiencing the consequences of mainstream progressive policies “very acutely”.

  24. “The El Paso’s shooters alleged manifesto is racist, anti-corporate, anti-automation, and especially anti-immigrant, and it reflects a general hatred for many aspects of American society.”
    .
    .
The alt-Right should have thought of that BEFORE spending the last 38+ years voting for trickle-down/supply-side Satanomics, aka Conmanitalism, in order to keep African Americans from accessing the same government subsidies that created the White middle class.

What? You Conservative voting Sheeple thought that the parasite class and their allies in the Corporate Caliphate would exempt you from the deprivations of trickle-down/supply-side Satanomics, aka Conmanitalism, because you are White.

When it comes to f#@king the hoi polloi in the a$$, the parasite class and their allies in the Corporate Caliphate are equal opportunity a$$ f#@kers.

Now, being the victims of the policies y’all voted for the past 38+ years, you are lashing out and as per your MO you are blaming everyone, teachers, unions, “Those People”, refugees, Liberals, Progressives, etc. except those responsible – yourselves.

    1. Nice manifesto you are starting there looking forward to the rest.

      1. Is he another parody account, like OBL?

    2. The alt-Right should have thought of that BEFORE spending the last 38+ years

The alt-right is older than I am and we only found out about them in the past couple of years? Sneaky bastards!

    3. Don’t forget about Area 51!

    4. Paging the FBI. This guy is a live one.

    5. Get up off of your knees, commie.

  25. Well, They are Invaders as they come here illegally. Prior to Trump the majority politicians from Clinton, to Obama, to Schumer, are all on record supporting our Immigration Laws. The Democrats only changed their mind because it was what Trump ran on and you know TRUMP can never be right about anything. These people cost the US Economy a Trillion dollars every 5 to 7 years. There are a hundreds of millions of people around the word that would like a better life in the US and the list is long for those that have applied LEGALLY. Why should they be delayed because some one breaks our laws. Is 23 Million Illegals in the country not enough for you? Then what is and how many should we take in each year and how do we decide who to take in? TWO QUESTIONS the Democrats and the OEPN BORDERS crowd refuse to answer.

      1. Ah, the usual propaganda piece conflating legal and illegal immigration, and conflating economic benefits for current Americans with average economic benefits for cross-border populations.

Are you really so ignorant that you don’t understand the errors in that paper, or do you actually understand them and promote them anyway?

        1. So pieces of paper issued to immigrants, legal v/s illegal humans, makes them vastly different from each other? Do pieces of paper issued by Government Almighty have magical powers? If not, then how do these pieces of paper make these gimongous differences?

          1. So pieces of paper issued to immigrants, legal v/s illegal humans, makes them vastly different from each other? Do pieces of paper issued by Government Almighty have magical powers? If not, then how do these pieces of paper make these gimongous differences?

You really don’t understand where the vast statistical differences between legal immigrants and illegal South American migrants come from?

Are you seriously so stupid that the only mechanism you can imagine for population differences is that they are caused by a piece of paper?

I’m sorry, until you can figure out the answer to your own question, you have no business talking about immigration at all.

            1. So people who lack the magical papers are inferior beings. Got it.

              1. Legal immigrants are largely screened, illegal immigrants are not. Cant believe you are stupid enough not to understand that.

                1. Are “unscreened” individuals inferior beings?

                  1. Yes. Starting with you. Best you wander off in the frozen tundra, never to be seen or heard from again.

The world will rejoice Pedo Jeffy. Especially the children.

                  2. Are “unscreened” individuals inferior beings?

Well, the population of illegal migrants (“unscreened individuals”) are inferior in terms of their skills and contributions to the population of legal immigrants (“individuals with magical pieces of paper”).

That’s not because magical pieces of paper cause people to be more skilled, it’s because more skills cause people to be more likely to get a magical piece of paper.

              2. So people who lack the magical papers are inferior beings. Got it.

Yes, just like people without magical papers like university degrees are educationally inferior to people who have those magical papers.

And just like people without magical pieces of paper we call “dollars” are poorer than people with those magical pieces of paper.

Magical pieces of paper reflect real differences between people and populations.

                1. And just like people without magical pieces of paper we call “dollars” are poorer than people with those magical pieces of paper.

That’s funny, I have zero dollar bills in my wallet right now, but I’m willing to bet my net worth is higher than yours. Huh.

It is as I figured: you’re a traditional conservative who thinks that people who don’t follow the law are immoral on some level. This of course presumes that the law itself is moral and worth following. You never explore that premise. Huh I wonder why.

                  1. “That’s funny, I have zero dollar bills in my wallet right now, but I’m willing to bet my net worth is higher than yours. Huh.”

Of course you have no dollar bills in your wallet. YOU ARE CANADIAN. And what net worth does some little douchebag Toronto college kid have anyway? You probably spend all your money on child porn anyway.

                  2. It is as I figured: you’re a traditional conservative who thinks that people who don’t follow the law are immoral on some level. This of course presumes that the law itself is moral and worth following. You never explore that premise. Huh I wonder why.

I don’t believe that US law is intrinsically moral. But laws and their uniform application are necessary for having a functioning society.

I really don’t understand what your position is. Are you saying we should just selectively ignore immigration laws for South Americans, immigration laws that the majority of Americans have favored again and again? Or what?

            2. WHY does it matter so much, whether the immigrants are legal humans or illegal sub-humans? Especially in light of the below!

Trumpistas will tell you, just get out of America before your visa expires.
But… If I fell deathly ill or my plane reservations got cancelled, so my departure got delayed a bit. Then Donald’s army of bureaucrats jumps on the chance to turn me into an illegal sub-human.
Telling us what the law is doesn’t help the fact that the law is an evil, inhumane ass, as enforced by Donald’s army of bureaucrats! Being black and sitting in the front of the bus used to be illegal, too, you know!
Trump is appealing to his racist-nationalistic base, if we are honest!

        2. Migrants, both legal and especially illegal, send out of the US, what: like 20-30 billion $ year?
What return does the US economy get out of that?
I fail to see what possible economic benefits to Americans there are with remittances

          1. What return does the US economy get out of that?
I fail to see what possible economic benefits to Americans there are with remittances

WHO CARES? Should all economic activity be oriented around “what’s best for the national economy”?

If I burn a pile of cash on my lawn, why should anyone give a damn?

            1. WHO CARES? Should all economic activity be oriented around “what’s best for the national economy”?

As far as American voters are concerned, that’s the only factor that matters and the only factor that should matter to US politicians.

If I burn a pile of cash on my lawn, why should anyone give a damn?

Are you economically illiterate enough to think that “burning a pile of cash on your lawn” hurts anybody? Hint: it doesn’t. In fact, it’s like a donation to other holders of US dollars. In that, it’s quite different from remittances.

              1. As far as American voters are concerned, that’s the only factor that matters and the only factor that should matter to US politicians.

Well, I have a different perspective. Perhaps what should matter to US politicians is NOT that economic activity is directed towards “what’s best for the US economy”, but instead to set people free to pursue whatever economic goals they wish, regardless of how it affects national GDP.

Why should the government try to direct individuals’ decisions towards “what’s best for the US economy”, instead of just leaving people alone to spend their money however they wish?

And fine, you don’t like my burning cash example. Here’s another one:

Suppose I bury piles of cash in my backyard. I don’t spend it, I basically take it out of circulation. That would lower national GDP, compared to the case where I spent or invested the money, no? If I choose to do this, why should anyone give a damn?

                1. Suppose I bury piles of cash in my backyard. I don’t spend it, I basically take it out of circulation. That would lower national GDP, compared to the case where I spent or invested the money, no?

By removing the money from circulation, you lower nominal GDP, but you don’t lower actual GDP, since the amount you remove is exactly equal to the amount by which everybody else’s money increases in value.

The only way you can increase national wealth, however, is by investing that money; spending it on consumer goods is even worse than burning or burying it.

If I choose to do this, why should anyone give a damn?

Nobody gives a damn. But the situation you describe is fundamentally different from remittances, which are neither buried or burned, but constitute claims on US output by people who are likely going to consume rather than invest.

(In addition, of course, remittances to foreign countries are often subsidized by US tax payers.)

                  1. You’re right! Burying money in the backyard is not exactly equivalent to remittances! But both of those represent instances of individuals doing something with money that doesn’t maximize national GDP. The point is – SO FUCKING WHAT? Why should you or anyone else care about that? Get your nose out of other people’s business. If I or anyone else want to bury money in the backyard, or send money to any other person of my own choosing, whether they are in this country or not, that is my choice alone and you need to shut the fuck up about it. Period end of story.

                    1. You’re not ‘in this country’ you little pederast cunt. You’re a Canadian. From Toronto as I understand it. So fuck off and don’t worry about what America does.

We don’t give a fuck what you think you little loser.

                    2. You’re right! Burying money in the backyard is not exactly equivalent to remittances! But both of those represent instances of individuals doing something with money that doesn’t maximize national GDP. The point is – SO FUCKING WHAT? Why should you or anyone else care about that?

You made the argument that importing third world laborers into the US is good for Americans; I merely disproved your point.

Get your nose out of other people’s business. If I or anyone else want to bury money in the backyard, or send money to any other person of my own choosing, whether they are in this country or not, that is my choice alone and you need to shut the fuck up about it.

Actually, no US citizen is “free to send money to any other person of their own choosing”; the US government already has strict regulations in place about who you can send money to, how much you can send, what purposes you can send it for, etc. For non-US citizens, the restrictions are even stronger.

And for most low income workers, it is effectively not “their money” they are sending out of the country, it is my tax dollars, and that’s why it is my business. And you should shut the fuck up about it. Period end of story.

          2. “What return does the US economy get out of that?”

Well duh, how about the value of their labors? That means nothing to anyone? I for one like it when my lawn gets mowed!

    1. If there’s anything more likely to make the general public turn pro-immigration than an anti-immigration mass shooter, I can hardly imagine what it would be.

If he’d stayed up all night for weeks trying to think of a better way to make the country pro-open borders, he couldn’t have come up with anything better than this.

If he did this because he’s against open borders, then in addition to being an evil piece of shit, he’s also profoundly stupid.

  26. What is the point?

  27. It’s still ok to be white.

    1. Only for a little while longer.

  28. These wackos do it for the publicity. Don’t give it to them. Their manifesto or life story or supposed motives don’t matter. Just give their name, age, city of residence and execution date.

  29. Dayton Ohio.

    Lived there four years.

  30. Once again, if you want to know why we can’t move forward on this issue, it’s the gun control side being oblivious. But yeah, those of us expressing “thoughts and prayers” like normal human beings are the monsters because we don’t want to pass a law before we actually know what happened.

  31. It should be noted that Christians are among the most persecuted people on the face of the earth. Some sources that it’s reaching genocidal levels. Antisemitism was becoming an issue in Europe long before Trump became president. The British Labour party isn’t exactly pro Trump.

But none of that stopped the left from spewing their nonstop rhetoric against those groups. Half he squad are antisemtic. Last year the left twisted themselves into pretzels rationalizing why Sarah Jeong’s jokes about White people melting down wasn’t racist.

Pogroms were started by people who already suspected suspected Jews or other groups of wrongdoing. The American progressives operate in a similar way. They think Trump or Ben Shapiro have the svengali like ability to inspire violence with their “rhetoric” and will attribute many form of violence to them. They’ll use that as their rationale to suppress their 1A rights or physically confront them.

They assume guilt or take positions on every single thing, and continue to do so even when they’re proven wrong. The Smollett incident is merely the most notable example.

    1. It should be noted that Christians are among the most persecuted people on the face of the earth.

Gays and Jews would like to have a word with you.

      1. Illegal sub-humans in many-many nations would ALSO like to have a word with you! And the Yazidi in Syria, and just about EVERYONE in N. Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela…

        1. It just astounds me that the moment that Christianity (and in particular, Evangelical Protestant Christianity) is no longer the overwhelmingly dominant cultural force in America, but *merely* a really important one, that people like XM scream “oppression! oppression!”

      2. Yeas, Pedo Jeffy, we get it. You are an anti christ bigot. In addition to being a race baiter, and a proponent for child rape.

Now fuck off. You’re not even American, so your opinion of our immigration policies means less than nothing.

        1. You really are a tiresome pest. I don’t hate Christians, I’m not a race baiter, I’m certainly not a pedophile or advocate for it, and I’m sick and tired of having to defend myself against psychopathic keyboard warriors like yourself who routinely advocate for anyone to the left of Ted Cruz be tortured and/or executed. You should stop hanging out at 4chan/8chan/whatever-chan and maybe try to view people as individuals, not as a collection of faceless enemies.

          1. Pedo Jeffy, everything you said is bullshit, and everything I said is correct. Everyone here hates you for good reason. Your only friend is Buttplug, as he too is a child rape enthusiast.

I also notice you don’t deny being Canadian. So keep your opinions on my country’s immigration policies to yourself. You just worry about what PM Zoolander is going to do, and how the maple syrup yield is going to be this year.

      3. I said Christians are AMONG the most persecuted people in the world. That’s true especially now.

        https://www.newsweek.com/persecution-christians-genocide-christianity-disappearing-report-1414038

There were in Christians put to death in places like Japan an China.

      4. Gays and Jews would like to have a word with you.

No, not really. I’d rather tell you to go to hell, Chemjeff.

    2. Cannot speak for all of the Jews.

We had nothing to do with this.

Gays I do not believe either.

      Go fish.

  32. The El Paso shooter was also an environmentalist.
    From his “Manifesto”
“The American lifestyle affords our citizens an incredible quality of life. However, our lifestyle is
destroying the environment of our country. The decimation of the environment is creating a massive
burden for future generations. Corporations are heading the destruction of our environment by
shamelessly overharvesting resources. This has been a problem for decades. For example, this
phenomenon is brilliantly portrayed in the decades old classic “The Lorax”. Water sheds around the
country, especially in agricultural areas, are being depleted. Fresh water is being polluted from farming
and oil drilling operations. Consumer culture is creating thousands of tons of unnecessary plastic waste
and electronic waste, and recycling to help slow this down is almost non-existent. Urban sprawl creates
inefficient cities which unnecessarily destroys millions of acres of land. We even use god knows how
many trees worth of paper towels just wipe water off our hands. Everything I have seen and heard in my
short life has led me to believe that the average American isn’t willing to change their lifestyle, even if
the changes only cause a slight inconvenience. The government is unwilling to tackle these issues
beyond empty promises since they are owned by corporations. Corporations that also like immigration
because more people means a bigger market for their products. I just want to say that I love the people
of this country, but god damn most of y’all are just too stubborn to change your lifestyle. So the next
logical step is to decrease the number of people in America using resources. If we can get rid of enough
people, then our way of life can become more sustainable.”

    1. Shocking that this has no replies yet. I guess sock puppets are allergic to facts, like his choice of “The Inconvenient Truth” as his title. Or maybe they got bored.

      1. I am disappointed that I went to the trouble of reading his damn Manifesto and posted this. O well at least I downloaded and printed it in case it gets deleted. At least we are not New Zealand , yet , otherwise I would be looking at some jail time for merely reading it.

    invader…

    Noun
    invader (plural invaders)

    One who invades a region
    Synonyms: assailant, encroacher
An intruder (especially on someone’s privacy)

    https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/invader

    1. The Native Americans would like for ALL of the invaders to go back where they came from!

But I bet that the ice ages mega-fauna felt the same way about the Native Americans when they first got here and started driving most of the mega-fauna extinct…

      1. Just imagine how things would have turned out if native Americans had the technology to manufacture guns before Columbus showed up

        1. They would have all killed each other off through tribal warfare. The myth of the noble savage is just that, a myth.

        2. Just imagine how things would have turned out if native Americans had the technology to manufacture guns before Columbus showed up

          That’s funny.

That was never going to happen. These are people who discovered and REJECTED the ‘wheel’.

The most advanced of them had just gotten to the ‘soft metals as ornamentation’ stage when Columbus got here–most were still firmly in the stone age.

      2. The Native Americans would like for ALL of the invaders to go back where they came from!

We should learn from their mistake!

  35. One of the tenets of the Christchurch shooter’s manifesto, which the El Paso shooter apparently agreed with, was the need to produce a mass casualty situation using an “assault weapon” type firearm, so as to inflame the firearms debate in the U.S., thus causing even more dissention and political division.

From all the news and comments I’ve read about recent shootings of this type, it looks like their plan is working perfectly.

    1. Note that he acquired the guns only shortly before he did this. When that is the fact situation, I lean towards the mass shooter being anti-gun and trying to make the point of why people can’t be trusted with guns.

      1. So my takeaway is we that need to deport all progressives and the problem leaves with them.

  36. Sound to me like the guy had it all pretty correct. Except that he should have sniped the invaders as they waded across the Rio Grande, etc. Extra points for the smaller targets.

  37. Drugs from Mexico kill twice the death toll from El Paso every day
