Covington, Concerts, and Colonscopies: Nick Gillespie Talks With Greg Gutfeld
Why did the media, including Gutfeld himself, side so quickly against the Covington Catholic schoolkids and how to avoid making the same mistakes over and over.

Yesterday, I appeared The One with Greg Gutfeld, the Fox News host's weekly podcast. It was a fun, lively conversation that included a ton of discussion about The Brady Bunch, 1970s-era football players and music, and the often-unacknowledged feelings of tranquility that accompany colonoscopies (Greg recently had one).
But mostly, we talked about why the media, including Gutfeld himself, sided so quickly against the Covington Catholic schoolkids, what we could all learn from Reason's Robby Soave (who took time to develop a larger context before pronouncing definitively about the event), and whether we are living in an infinite number of Zapruder films in which reality is never quite in focus. We also talked about how many in the media are so committed to hounding Donald Trump out of office that they often get way ahead of stories that turn out not to be true.

Is Gillespie about to sing Rocket Man there?
We also talked about how many in the media are so committed to hounding Donald Trump out of office that they often get way ahead of stories that turn out not to be true.
And about why those many do not literally fall on their swords or at least resign in disgrace, right? RIGHT?!
Let it go, Rich. People make mistakes and it's better if we all just move on.
Well, .... OK.
Hey, wait a minute! Am I making a mistake? Dammit, $park? -- you *are* the worst!
I thought Nikki was the worst.
Nikki hasn't been around in forever and is quite possibly dead now.
Or...or...maybe you are Nikki? Tell me, how do you feel about children?
I have two and I don't care if they think I'm immoral for having brought them, unasked, into the world.
how to avoid making the same mistakes over and over.
Step one: Delete twitter account.
Step two: Profit.

Generation X = Baby Boomers wtf lol @ olds
Unnamed sources say the democrat party is preparing legislation to make MAGA hats illegal.
It's got as much truthiness as a top Buzzfeed story. Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, HuffPo to reprint.
Speaker of The House in action
She possess this subtle sexiness that makes the front of my corduroys plump up and leak some freedom juice.
I saw a slug do that once when I poured salt on it.
You have been known to spice things up.
Spoiler alert: Crusty's freedom juice is yellow.
They have antibiotics for that now.
Was the audience asleep already, did they fall asleep when she appeared, did they interpret her hand signals as telling the brown shirts to get their guns ready .... what is the real story there?
Musso Lina.
Suddenly a casual conversation about colonoscopies with Nick Gillespie seems less off-putting.
Were the Ramones discussed? Tell me you discussed the Ramones.
They had a dorky talk about 70s football. Fact: this is a decent book on the 70s Raiders.
Also, the worst impression in the history of the universe happens.
Better link.
Nobody likes a Negative Nancy.
It's a good thing Pelosi was never in the same room with the Gipper's wife, or there would have been some baryonic mayhem with a massive emission of gamma rays and neutrinos.
Nancy came out of Hollywood. I would take her cat fighting skills over any politician.
Why did the media, including Gutfeld himself, side so quickly against the Covington Catholic schoolkids
Because one thing everybody in the media can agree on is that white Christian-y kids from former slave states are the devil's spawn.
Guttfield is just as much of a piece of shit as any of them. He just panders to a different side once in a while.
Covington, Concerts, Colonscopies and Cowards.
The Covington thing was a real test of character that nearly all of the media, including many on the right failed miserably. Forget leftist journalists for a momen. It is well established they are craven idiots who will believe anything that fits their preferred narrative. What is Gutfield's excuse? He is supposed to be better than that.
No matter how much people like Guttfield apologize and claim they were taken in by those damned activists, two things remain true. First, they happily and immediately assumed the worst about the students in the video and assumed it was true even though there were plenty of reasons to be skeptical. Second, they thought that it was okay to make national piriahs and ruin the lives of some high school kids who made the mistake of getting into an argument on the national mall.
I don't thinik "I am really sorry I believed it" answers the mail on this. Why were they so credulous about this video? Because the video involved a bunch of nobodies from Kentucky that people like Gutfield feel superior to and entitled to always assume the worst. If the people in that video had been other reporters or elite college students, people like Guttfield and others on the right and indeed all of the media would have been nowhere near as quick to take the initial video as the entire truth.
And why did they think a bunch of high school students being borish was worthy of their attention and being a national story? Because all of them left and right are tribalist assholes who thought they saw and opportunity to virtue signal thei class status and slander the evil Orange Man and is even more loathsome supporters. That is who people like Guttfield are. And no amount of apologizing and jumping on the band wagon to bash Progressives, whom we already knew were vile, changes that.
"But mostly, we talked about why the media, including Gutfeld himself, sided so quickly against the Covington Catholic schoolkids"
When I first heard from a prog about these awful prolife kids harassing an innocent Indian Vietnam veteran, I laughed and said it was probably BS. But when I Googled it and found that Redstate or some such right-wing site accepted the story, I said, "hmmm, I guess it must be true after all if even these righties are admitting it."
It's what I like to do - if I find a site making what they call a "declaration against interest" - a left-wing site admitting some right-winger isn't as bad as we thought, or a right-wing site admitting that a right-winger did something bad - then I think consensus has been reached. That method failed me this time on this occasion.
It failed you this time because you didn't understand that not all of the right is the same the way the left is. Red State generally loaths Trump and especially his supporters just as much as anyone on the left. So, it is not surprising at all that Red State believed the story and ran with it. Their prejudices and biases are no different than the left's on this matter.
Those kids were wearing Turmp hats. All good and right thinking people must hate them and think the worst of them. it is a requirement to be in polite society. Not hating Trump supporters in the media class in this country is equivilent of not hating Jews in French society at the turn of the 20th Century. It is just not something that is done.
I was doubtful when I first saw that the outrage was because they showed such "disrespect for an elder and a veteran" WHAT?
False outrage. They laid it on a bit too thick.
Start working at home with Google. It's the most-financially rewarding I've ever done. On tuesday I got a gorgeous BMW after having earned $8699 this last month. I actually started five months/ago and practically straight away was bringin in at least $96, per-hour. visit this site right here..... http://www.mesalary.com
Holy fuck!! what a crap-hose of non-sense and bullshit. Say something relevant! Hell just say something topical. For fuck sake, I could have gotten more out of listening to a homeless man mutter to himsellf while washing my car window.
Looking over the comments I find there is absolutely no BIAS. All the comments fall to one side. What a sorry state of affairs!
