On this most holy of holiday, Krayewski?
Every knows Columbus was a white supremacist ratfucker who probably loved Donald Trump centuries before he was born, so Reason doesn't recognize this holiday.
Well, I'm working, so they damn well better be.
Does anybody have Columbus Day off besides bank and government employees? It's sort of a nothing "holiday."
All the coffee shops on my route to the office were closed except one. I thought that was odd.
They're ditching Columbus Day to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day.
Surely wypipo are the indigenous peoples of somewhere.
It could be that those coffee shops are owned by Italian or Hispanic folk, because a lot of Italian and Hispanic ethnic identitarians still really dig on Christopher Columbus.
My building is on a street called Christopher Columbus Drive....
My building is on a street called Christopher Columbus Drive....
My God.
Even calling them indigenous reflects white privilege. As if we're the only people who emigrated anywhere. They did it first.
Indigenous just means your ancestors migrated to where you are so long ago that there is no historical record of it.
I'm sure GIllespie has a soft spot in his heart for Columbus Day.
ROFL. Not a chance in hell. Gillespie would be in favor of pulling down every Columbus statue in America.
And why should he? It only shows our nations obsession with guns and violence that we have a holiday celebrating those two psycho shooters in Colorado.
Why do you say that?
Because the Gillespie in his head is a caricature of a lefty SJW type.
Evidence of this?
Hello.
Happy Thanksgiving to me, Happy Thanksgiving to me, Happy Thanksgiving to me....
Bah.
Killer fact: Canada's national anthem is called "O Canada" because that's what people say when they remember that Canada is there. "Oh, Canada."
A British tabloid worries about a vacation package on island off the coast of Colombia advertised as offering ulimited sex, drugs, and alcohol.
Don't forget the monkey knife fights.
"A British tabloid worries . . ."
One man's worries are another man's free publicity.
The place is probably booked solid. I expect Her Majesty's Government to intervene and refuse to allow travel to the island any day now.
Sounds like the perfect destination for next year's Reason cruise....
A British tabloid is one to talk.
Monkey!!! Knife!!! Fight!!!
Don't bring a knife to a monkey gun fight.
Monkey!!! Gun!!! Fight!!!
...the White House had turned into an "adult day care center."
It's good Corker no longer has to worry about the adult day care vote.
The Trump administration's opening offer to Democrats in Congress on immigration includes funding for a border wall and cuts to grants to sanctuary cities.
Mexico is going to pay for our wall by cutting money to San Francisco?
It's going to be a virtual wall, remember?
(People forget that 'virtual' means 'seems to, but not really there'.)
The Weinstein Company fired Harvey Weinstein after new reports of a string of sexual misconduct allegations.
They're also renaming the company. It's now Roman Polanski Inc.
I kept wondering how it could be that Harvey Weinstein is harassing women. Then I finally realized I was thinking of Harvey Feinstein.
Blackwater founder Erik Prince is reportedly considering a run for Senate.
Fortunately for him no one remembers Blackwater.
The North remembers. No wait, that was the Red Wedding.
The deal goes beyond that: the president's proposal includes yet again a limitation on greencard issuance based on a misunderstanding of the Canadian and Australian system, plus mandatory e-Verify which is a way to turn American companies into unpaid immigration officers, under the premise that a businessman's mibey is not his or hers but belongs to an "Amwrican Worker?" he or she doesn't know.
Of course, the Democratic leaders rejected the proposal, saying it went far beyond what was initially discussed.
But remember, immigration hawks are only against ILLEGAL immigration and totally not just anti-immigrant in general.
In the current immigration system, out of about one million immigrant visas / green cards issued every year, less than 200,000 go to immigrants with advanced degrees or skills, the kind we should be encouraging.
Trump's plan will reduce the annual number of visas from 1 million to 500,000, but most of those will go to immigrants with advanced degrees or skills. This is a win for us. We are under no obligation to open the door to just anyone who wants to immigrate, especially if their incoming socioeconomic status makes them likely to be a net burden rather than a net contributor.
Out of the native population, only 12 percent have advanced degrees. If having an advanced degree is a necessary condition to be worthy of citizenship, why are we letting all these uneducated nativeborns be citizens?
So Stormy's snark is accurate.
The U.S. and Turkey suspended non-immigrant visa services for nationals of each other's countries.
What with Thanksgiving right around the corner.
But today is Thanksgiving, according to America's dunce cap.
They'll assimilate better if they know what's good for them.

Corker also said in an interview Trump could lead the country into World War III and was treating his job " like he's doing 'The Apprentice' or something."
In his next tweet, Corker expressed pleasant surprise at the sun having risen yet again in the morning.
Thinking back to eighth grade, I doubt someone like Trump could have won a student council seat, let alone class president. Even if I agreed with his views 100%, his personality and behavior turns me off. Three more years of this and how does he win re-election? I know several swing state Trump voters who would not do so again, but no Hillary voters who regret their votes. Are any of you finding people who say "I wish I had voted for Trump?"
But how many of those Trump voters who don't like him would vote for Hillary over him? None I know of. They'd more likely stay home. It all depends on the other candidate.
No one on the losing side EVER regrets their votes. Be it McCain or Mondale, they can forever hold on to the illusion that their candidate could have done so much better, because the test is never performed.
I regret voting for Bob Barr.
That happens in about 5 years.
If the Dems keep lurching left, Trump is a shoo-in.
Remember, Weinstein wasn't fired because the board found out about his harrassment, he was fired because WE found out about it.
You just know that Weinstein has taken a few rides on the Lolita Express, if you catch my drift.
No, I don't catch your drift, you perv!
"The U.S. and Turkey suspended non-immigrant visa services for nationals of each other's countries."
So at what point are we taking our nukes out of there? Any day now would be nice.
We should absolutely pull our nukes out, shut down the base, and tell them that if they continue these provocations they'll be kicked out of NATO and we won't help them should Putin decide he might want to retaliate against them.
Erdogan has made it abundantly clear that he's an outright enemy of the U.S. and the west.
Around 30 comments. Not bad. Far cry from the hey-day but whatevs.

Mattis: Staying in Iran deal is of US national security interest

Mattis and Tillerson are bucking the Orange Fucking Moron on Iran. (thankfully)
"I think one of the greatest of all terms I've come up with is 'fake,' " Trump said in an interview with TBN host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R). "I guess other people have used it, perhaps over the years, but I've never noticed it."
Trump has often used the term in reference to the media and news coverage throughout his campaign and presidency.

Source: Las Vegas shooter left behind calculations for targeting crowd.
"A handwritten note in Stephen Paddock's hotel room contained calculations pertaining to the distance and trajectory from his 32nd-floor window to the crowd of concertgoers he targeted below, according to a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation." Yet more evidence that, far from being a loose cannot who suddenly snapped, he carefully and methodically planned the attack in order to try to inflict maximum carnage.
Also, there's this from the New York Times: "The Las Vegas police believe Mr. Paddock may have had a secret life. But something seemed to change last October. He went on a shopping spree, adding to his arsenal until late last month. One of his purchases, a shotgun, came from Dixie Gunworx in St. George, Utah. Chris Michel, the owner, said Mr. Paddock visited the store three times in January and February, making the 40 minute drive from Mesquite, Nevada."
Gee, what major event happened right around that timeframe late last year into early this year that shocked many and made a lot of people very, very angry? Man, what a brainbuster that is, huh?
Killer Clowns?
Ryan Seacrest still hosting Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve?
Titanic started streaming on Netflix?
Why is building a wall inherently more evil than raiding, say, a chicken plant looking for illegals?
Some people will still get over or around the wall, but it would stop a certain number of people from coming across and later getting raided, which is the alternative to a wall.
Did someone say it was?
I think that the problem with the wall is that it is unlikely to be effective, costs a lot and impacts private land owners.
I'm sure that's the *libertarian* objection, but not all the people objecting the wall are libertarians.
The prog opponents aren't going around saying, "look, a more efficient way to enforce the immigration laws is x, y and z..." No, they're chanting kumbayah and "build bridges, not walls," and generally acting as if they're worried a wall *will* be effective.
Yes, I keep forgetting about normal people.
Similarly the con proponents of a wall are just chanting "build the damn wall" without addressing the more legitimate criticisms and questions about effectiveness of a wall or the broader question of what to do about all the illegal immigrants already here and the part they play in the economy.
Yeah most of them are sane people.
I think that the problem with the wall is that it is unlikely to be effective, costs a lot and impacts private land owners.
But how is it worse than immigrants receiving welfare and free schooling?
When you lie in service of xenophobia, what does that make you?
A Lenaphobe?
A border wall or fence doesn't have to stop 100% of border crossers to be effective. Israel implemented an effective border fence that has diminished its suicide bomber infiltration to almost zero. Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I.....ectiveness
It is difficult to smuggle human beings compared to drugs, guns or contraband. They require food, water, air to breathe, have to relieve themselves periodically, can't be kept in hidden compartments for days on end, weigh 130 lbs or more and take up a lot of space.
There are many ways in which illegals get taxpayer support. As just one example, every illegal alien's child is entitled to a public school education (even if the child is also illegal) and the average cost of this education is $11,000 per year (2014 figures). An illegal alien's child enrolled in first grade will cost the taxpayer $132,000 to graduate from high school. This $132,000 of course becomes unavailable to educate the children of citizens and legal immigrants.
So a $15 billion wall will pay for itself if it deters about 120,000 illegal aliens of child-bearing age from crossing the border illegally.
If we can reduce the 500,00 illegal border crossers by 95% to (say) 25,000 per year, then the illegal immigration problem is greatly reduced. At that point, the public will be willing to be more generous with the illegals already in the country, especially if criminal aliens are deported.
That word, I do no think it means what you think it means.
These wife-beating, drugged up to the eyeballs, barely literate thugs and criminals who make up so much of the NFL have every right to stick their thumb in America's eye (yes, it's protected free speech). And those of us who don't like what they're saying in turn have the right to tell them they can go piss off. Two way free speech for the win.
And my advice to guys like that is they should just stop insulting our intelligence by telling us that they're not trying to insult or offend anyone with you're doing. Yes you are, you lowlifes. You're clearly sending a message of "fuck you America", and we hear it loud and clear. Just say what it is you're really thinking and cut the bullshit already.
They are: cops are killing too many black people.
You fucking retards with the flag up your ass (when convenient) are the ones not listening.
Number one, cops are killing too many people period, not just black people.
Number two, if that really is their message, there are many ways for them to get that message out that would not only have a chance to potentially be more effective, but would also be less offensive to many.
Number three, you can go fuck yourself.
They are: cops are killing too many black people.
They kill more whites. And there is no differences in the rate of killing based on the ethnicity of the police, so the "OMG, IT'S TEH RAYCIZM!" nonsense doesn't hold water.
Double irony: Most of the people who believe cops kill to many people ALSO want them to be the only ones allowed to have guns in public. I guess that makes sense to somebody, but not to me.
Mood music:
High on Fire-Dii
Bob Corker, the guy who decided to make the Iran treaty that nobody saw not a treaty for reasons that nobody can decipher. The loss of more old-school Republicans is seldom a bad thing.
Good Christ.
Sweet merciful crap.
