Spend 4/20 at Reason in L.A. Talking About the Future of Drug Policy
Also: tacos and margaritas!

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has called marijuana "only slightly less awful" than heroin. But with cannabis legal in 28 states and Washington, D.C., it's clear that federal and state drug policy is at odds. Can the Trump Administration really stop marijuana legalization? How is California dealing with the uncertainty that surrounds this legal industry? What can we expect in the next four years—and beyond?
On Thursday, April 20, you are cordially invited to join Reason for a discussion of present and future drug policy with four experts in the field:
- Diane Goldstein, Law Enforcement Action Partnership
- Lynne Lyman, California State Director, Drug Policy Alliance
- Kenny Morrison, President, California Cannabis Manufacturers Association
- Jeffrey Chen, UCLA Brain Research Institute, Cannabinoid Affinity Group
Reason.tv's own Zach Weissmueller, who recently interviewed cannabis entrepreneurs about the future of drug policy under President Trump, will moderate this wide-ranging discussion.

Excellent choice of date: Here's the Real Reason We Associate 420 With Weed
Hitler?
The Grateful Dead are involved, so almost.
Well, it is Hitler's birthday.
And I kinda like the Dead. Sorry.
I'm sorry too. Did you know the Grateful Dead once had two drummers for almost a year, and didn't even notice?
"Whoa dude. This is some good shit. I am seeing double. Four drummers."
The live stuff is great for coming down from an acid trip, or things like that. Then way their extended improvisations shape up makes a lot more sense when you are in that state of mind.
But I'm actually that rare person who is more into their studio recordings than live stuff. They did write a lot of good songs.
The same goes for MM&W. I much prefer their studio work. When you are not tripping, their live sets sound like Medeski trying to kill as many ants as he can with his fingers.
This is how I remember my niece's birthday.
Would totally go if it started at a reasonable hour. Just because we're for drug reform doesn't mean we don't have day jobs!
Marijuana is much stronger today than it was back in my day, which is why I think it should be outlawed.
The answer to that conundrum is to take twice as much. Then you won't notice the difference.
I endorse this approach.
How about a live video feed?
Trump has a Drug Czar problem. The prospective nominee has mob connections.

Are... are you giving us homework?
You could just use your imagination and make shite up.
In any case there is so much material that giving one link or even a few wouldn't suffice.
I found it interesting. YMMV.
My takeaway is that cannabis is safe and heroin is only slightly worse.
