You sound like my wife when I bought her that necklace that was too big for her neck.
She needs a choker.
Problematic.
*Whips out cardboard ruler*
Sorry, Bee. Have to be this tall to ride.
(Is it fair to downthread reference?)
No. And I'll be returning to vent my spleen if and when I get it.
Well, crack a window when you do. Geez.
Or like the breakfast at Big Bob's Nuthin' But Sausage diner.
But they also have Poland sausage from Polish.
Ha!
Polish it in the corner.
Look dude - you've been told. Its a pitbull, not 'your wife'.
Maybe she identifies as his wife, you cis-species shitlord.
Hey, we have alt-text today!
Yeah, but it's a real snoozer.
Baby steps
Hello.
I don't know where to start.
Fist, I'm of the opinion that this comment isn't sufficient to count, but fortunately for you, JATNAS didn't comment on the linx either and you have comment #3, so your streak remains alive.
It's all part of the plan.
man you people are hard to please
Links on time, alt-text, 5 juicy links. That's all we ask for.
Impossible, you might say.
"I can't complain" is a distressing answer from a member of the commentariat. It means they're terribly unhappy.
This comment really could use some capitalization and punctuation.

FIGURES.
Not true.
Oh.
"Polish is considering a near total ban on abortion."
And such as, the Iraq.
He's just negging you.
Some people just want to complain.
What do you mean, "you people"?
There's something in this statement that brings to mind "So, we're just done with phrasing?"
"My dear, young man, don't take it too hard. Your work is ingenious. It's quality work. And there are simply too many notes, that's all. Cut a few and it will be perfect. "
238) I think libertarianism is the most American political philosophy. It's the one that takes the US Constitution most seriously, and the entirety of the Bill of Rights?including the ninth and tenth amendments. I think most of the original founding fathers would not be comfortable in either of the two big political parties today?Madison, Jefferson, and Mason would almost certainly be libertarians if they took a time machine to the 21st century, likely Franklin as well. (Hamilton would probably be a Democrat, John Adams would be one of the more principled Republicans).
I think libertarianism hearkens back most strongly to the pioneer spirit, the settlers of the New World who sought religious and economic freedom, the western gold panners, farmers, cattlemen, and Mormons who didn't want to live by the rules of the increasingly crowded eastern cities.
I sometimes hear libertarians disparaged, usually as selfish people who just want to do drugs, (NTTAWWT!), but I find that strange because the libertarians I have met almost invariably seem better informed and more interested in political philosophy, history, the ethics of citizenship and individuals in society, than the average person.
As said before, criticism of libertarianism comes down to projection, whether it comes from the left or the right. It's whether you believe you'll do the right thing because it's the right thing, or whether you'll do the right thing because somebody forces you to.
(aside: Firefox's dictionary did not contain the word "libertarianism". It did, however, suggest "totalitarianism" as an alternative)
Meh, same difference.
It's a communist plot.
JATNAS panders to the Commentariat.
What say you, dear commenters?
We're worth it.
More like JAPNAS, then.
Problematic.
I read that as JAPANS, and will report to the re-education center forthwith.
People with thinking processes highly predisposed towards systematization tend to be libertarians. It's probably also why libertarians often have expertise or high levels of knowledge in several fields of study and can easily differentiate the subtle differences between abstract concepts.
Non-libertarians laugh at this characterization. For most people libertarians are the angry nerds from high school. The kind that would pull fire alarms during pep rallies and dress like James Dean when they looked like Harvey Feinstein.
Clearly, your anecdote trumps empirical research. Case closed.
A good point, Sam. Yes, we have an image problem. But that says more about them making decisions based on teh feelz. Unfortunately, most people are perfectly happy to not have to think about things or make hard choices. And the statists have the upper hand - the effective purpose of modern government is to create by both indoctrination and intimidation a docile and easily-led populace who are dependent upon government.
Sam Haysom is Ogre? Makes sense.
Hi Tulpa. Felch any authoritarian ass lately?
felch. Verb. (third-person singular simple present felches, present participle felching, simple past and past participle felched) (intransitive) To suck semen out of a sexual partner's vagina or anus.
Now there is a useful word!
I never pulled the fire alarm.
I did walk out of a prep rally once. But then so did the rest of the school. Tucson, Spring, concrete bleachers outside, boring shit going on for an hour. We had enough.
Staff were flabbergasted. Briefly tried to stop us but what are a dozen people going to do to contain 300 that DGAF?
Though I'm pretty sure nowadays its the SJW's pulling the fire alarm 'because of your privilege' or some bullshit like that.
Aga-
You actually attended a "pep rally"?
Us cool kids were already in the baseball dugouts smoking dope before you walked out. My favorite thing about HS was my Freshman year was when the guy who nailed a sign on top of one that said "The Drugout"- and it actually stayed there from September until mid-March. They wanted that to stop my Sophomore year so they made the "dugouts" off limits. The first day of school had over 100 people sitting on the rails of the railroad tracks less than 20 feet from that dugout smoking pot at lunch time.
True story. I miss the 70's...
I blame Hackers and Angelina Jolie's wet t-shirt.
That's what he just said. Non libertarians are retarded.
"...easily differentiate the subtle differences between abstract concepts."
This is the heart of it. If you listen to a pinko talk it becomes obvious right away that what is in their head is a black and white cartoon of the world. They are simpletons that cant do that. My favorite example is the difference between fear and respect. I have had many argue that they are the same, invariably with authoritarians.
JATNAS, you assume that critics of libertarianism are arguing in good faith; they are often not doing so. Using your drug example - "oh, so you want to end the war on drugs, then you must be a druggie." This says far more about them than us. I always point out that one can have a principled stand for the right to do something without actually approving of that. I try to use those as teachable moments but am generally met with sullen silences.
But as noted above by the excellent JB, it's all projection: Libertarians state that they want to eliminate the US Dept of Education; progs claim we are against all education. Libertarians state that we want to reduce the number of burdensome regulations; proggies claim that we want people to be poisoned. There is really no reasoning with these people, but it is often useful to engage them if there are others present, again the teachable moment thing.
And always be aware that there are people who do not want to even permit an honest discussion of libertarianism. They are scared shitless that the unwashed masses might find our message appealing because those masses are incapable of determining their own best interests.
Sorry for the sermon; happy Friday.
Penn Jillette has a nice rejoinder to this sort of logic. He uses it as a defense of atheism, but it applies to a lot of the "libertarians are teh evil" logic as well.
The anti-atheist thesis is: "If there is no heaven and hell, what is to stop people from raping and murdering any time they want?"
His response: "I have raped and murdered everyone I ever wanted to. Which is exactly zero. What the fuck is wrong with you that you need the fear of hell to stop you from raping and murdering?"
It points to a fundamental flaw that some people must be hiding. The notion that they think everyone else is just waiting for a chance to poison you, rape you, enslave you.
I think you are right on the projection front. Definitely keep an eye on people who think that if there wasn't a bureaucrat standing next to you while you braid hair you'd use that weave as a makeshift garrote and murder everyone in sight.
JATNAS, you assume that critics of libertarianism are arguing in good faith; they are often not doing so. Using your drug example - "oh, so you want to end the war on drugs, then you must be a druggie."
Simple retort. "Do you think it should be legal to say the n-word? Oh, I guess that makes you a racist."
Agreed JATNAS. Unfortunately a man diametrically opposed to every principle in the BOR has twice been elected president. Every time he opens his mouth he reveals a world view that is decidedly not libertarian. Now a woman of even more authoritarian bent is poised to possibly preserve his 'legacy'.
Well the average person has little to no interest in politics to begin with, so that's unfair. How do the libertarians you meet compare to the self-described conservatives, liberals, progressives, socialists? Probably still better in your eyes (and perhaps not just because of bias), but your comparison was akin to saying engineers are more interested in math than the average person.
As for libertarianism as the philosophy closest to the founders and classic American ideals... eh, I'm cynical about that. And that's ignoring the whole problem of slavery and the natives.
A lawsuit accusing Donald Trump of raping a teenager in the '90s will be re-filed in New York with an additional witness, lawyers said.
This will do him in.
He should hire Hillary to defend him, especially if he's guilty. She's got a record of getting scumbags off.
Maybe get Bubba to meet with the prosecutor on a tarmac somewhere?
I pray to see "Tarmac Girl".
She's got a record of getting scumbags off.
That is some very unfortunate phrasing, right there.
Chelsea appreciates this fact, though.
Phrasing?
Except for Bill, she lets him outsource that service.
So, Kaine vs Pence?
vast, left-wing conspiracy.
+1 Anita Hill
The court should delay this until after the election just like State did with some evidently damaging emails of Hillary.
If he wins it is delayed until his term (s) end.
Simply throwing something in the courts at the last minute is prohibited I THINK.
"This will do him in."
An anonymous complaint from over 20 years ago gets filed months before the election. Normally, I would think that's awfully thin to make into a major issue. However, with the current kind of open partisanship in play, it might work.
"If you're a working journalist and you believe that Donald J. Trump is a demagogue playing to the nation's worst racist and nationalistic tendencies, that he cozies up to anti-American dictators and that he would be dangerous with control of the United States nuclear codes, how the heck are you supposed to cover him?
Because if you believe all of those things, you have to throw out the textbook American journalism has been using for the better part of the past half-century, if not longer, and approach it in a way you've never approached anything in your career. If you view a Trump presidency as something that's potentially dangerous, then your reporting is going to reflect that. You would move closer than you've ever been to being oppositional. That's uncomfortable and uncharted territory for every mainstream, nonopinion journalist I've ever known, and by normal standards, untenable."
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08.....idate.html
Oh yeah, journalists are dropping their objectivity just this one time.
If not for the Jeffrey Epstein tie-in, I'd doubt this accusation in entirety.
However, the Donald is on the record as saying: "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it ? Jeffrey enjoys his social life."
Jeff is, of course, Jeffrey Epstein of Pedophile Island fame.
Voters can choose between an alleged pedophile rapist and an enabler of another alleged rapist. The accusations are of real rape, not phony college campus "rape" accusations. Regardless of the merit of the accusations, both alleged rapists have a history of socializing with Epstein, a notorious convicted pedophile, and a history of thinking with their penis.
Or they can vote for Gary Johnson.
Files for 3D-printed guns are not protected under the First or Second Amendments, according to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
In case you're not getting the hint yet, try some other amendments and see what the result is.
The Fuck You That's Why amendment (aka "Marbury vs. Madison") expressly repudiates those old, antiquated amendments.
When the government fears the people, there is liberty. The government would prefer not to have reason to fear the people.
Remember when they tried to keep the Anarchist Cookbook from circulating twenty years ago and it just resulted in pretty much everyone downloading a copy? Information can't be stopped anymore.
I think it was just the publisher's decision to stop publishing it.
The urban legend about the Anarchist Cookbook when I was a teenager was always that it was put out by some government agency for some reason.
The urban legend about the Anarchist Cookbook when I was a teenager was always that it was put out by some government agency for some reason.
Sounds about right. It's wrong on so many things, it could only be a government project.
If it was put out by a government agency, it would likely start "take one anarchist. Mince and chop finely ..."
Ok prole...I gotta call you out. Mince and Chop Finely...the redundancy department of redundancy would like a word with you. ALSO, everyone knows you brunoise anarchists.
'How To Serve Anarchists'
It depends on the type of anarchist. You gotta braise an ancap for at least four hours, but syndicalists are best as a tartare.
So what about a book about the manufacture of guns? What if that book were digitized? This is nonsense
Gutting the First Amendment, one baby step at a time.
The first amendment protects freedom of the press. If the New York Times had printed this information, that would be one thing, but that's not the case here...
Ugh, nevermind, you can't even parody these people anymore.
I'm pretty sure the 'Streisand Amendment' is all that's needed to undercut the court's argument.
Maybe the Court's intent was that these files were already protected by the 2nd?
/HA!
I could have sworn we already went through this with the source code to the RSA algorithm.
Gary Johnson makes reasoned points expressing skepticism of the usefulness of combating climate change, Slate implies voting for such a kook would be crazy
If voters cared about reasoned argumentation this election cycle, we would not be seeing Trump and Hillary as the nominees.
It's like the author is unable to grasp why someone might think these two statements that are wedged right next to each other in the article might piss off some younger voters scraping for loose change to pay the rent, with its "fuck you, think what your elders tell you to think and go good-German for Hillary in the voting booth" attitude:
and argued that the "trillions" of dollars it would cost to combat climate change would be better spent on other priorities.
All of that makes Johnson's popularity among younger voters pretty surprising.
i stopped reading your comment at slate implies
Man punches beaver, gets treated for rabies
Jesus, these euphemisms.
Its a festival of abstraction.
Isn't that Fist's bailiwick?
Jesus, these euphemisms.
Sounds like the beaver finished first.
Are we not doing phrasing anymore?
I think we are phrasing as hard as we can.
Jesus, these euphemisms.
"because he ended up sucker-punching the beaver repeatedly"
Reporter does not know what a sucker punch is.
He first tapped the beaver on the left shoulder and then punched him with his right, then tapped the beaver on the right shoulder, followed by a left hook. Repeatedly. The beaver never caught on.
My first thought.
Probably some proggy boy who has never made a fist.
You think the beaver knew it was coming?
The beaver was asking for it.
"Sucker punch" and "drop kick" seem to be terms for specific attacks that media members use commonly without actual knowledge of what they are.
As a public service we should offer free classes to the press and use the students for the demonstrations.
OK class, today we're going to learn about Rochambeau.
It goes to show again that in any specific area of knowledge, reporters tend to be incredibly ignorant.
Wait, there are lakes in Falls Church?
The original Washington Post article on this said it was Fairview Lake, which is more correctly described as a decorative pond next to an office park.
Not natural ones.
It's not a sucker punch if it's the second blow of the fight.
I guess if he sucker-punched the beaver, waited for it to go back to its business and forget the assault, then snuck up and sucker-punched it again...
#Everquest
Ohh god...nightmares of kiting giants...
Wynona hit hardest
After being treated for rabies, was he then arrested for animal cruelty?
Was this in the Trump rape rap sheet?
Kevin Johnson?
At least he didn't club a swimming rabbit with a canoe paddle.
"Will the left survive millennials?"
Are they actually going to be good for something?
*narrows gaze* easy, tiger...

Iowan Busted For Measuring Self With Ruler
I think we know how the "victim" compared.
*cuckle*
They have cardboard boxes in the lady's rooms?
He did it in a restroom and the guy at the urinal had his dick out too. Just avoid eye contact and nobody gets charged.
That's what I don't understand.
Its not illegal to measure your dick. Its not illegal to have your dick out in a restroom. So why was the guy arrested?
If you look at the mugshot, he looks creepy. That's about it.
I'm unclear, did Morgan measure his own penis, or did he reach over and measure the 'victim'?
"made a comment regarding his size." = "Hey, Shorty!"
Apparently that rest room was not a safe space at U of I.
While he denied "being aroused," Morgan told cops "he's guilty of being 'curious,'" according to the complaint.
Maybe bi-curious.
Huh, so now suddenly we find out that this book-reading angel Keith Lamont Scott had a rap sheet a mile long, and did a seven year joint in Texas for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon? Nice.
Once again, it looks like you retarded, Weigelian leftists in the media picked a really bad guy to be your latest poster boy hero of victimhood.
And, hey, it's just a dead nigger, so who cares in the first place, right?
Take your race card and shove it up your shit-stained ass, Obama junior. A violent black career criminal pulled a gun on a black cop in a predominantly black city with a black police chief and a predominantly black city council.
As we all know, that makes it okay!
When you pull a gun on a cop, there's an extremely high chance you're going to end up dead, regardless of what race you are.
But if you don't believe me, I strongly encourage your dumb, sorry white ass to try it out as an experiment though. Get back to me with the results.
When you pull a gun on a cop, there's an extremely high chance you're going to end up dead, regardless of what race you are.
Turns out you can also end up dead, with varying levels of probability, for smoking in the car when that is illegal but when a cop doesn't like your attitude or skin color or whatever, and for numerous other things.
The problem, apparently, is with the people murdered, not with the people doing the murdering.
Thanks for explaining that to me.
should have read: "smoking in the car when it is LEGAL ..."
That's the amazing part. Fine. If you have a gun obey and all will be fine they say. But there have been documented cases where they do obey and still get killed for (insert reason here including 'suspect was reaching for something).
It's a justification I imagine will get stale and this is where body cams come into play.
There was that guy in Minnesoda:
Officer: "License and registration."
Driver: "Just to let you know, officer, i have a concealed carry perm-"
Officer: [BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM]
Ya gotta know the local rules
Driving with a broken taillight is punishable by death in Minnesota.
Every law, no matter how petty or local, carries with it the possibility of summary execution for violation. Every single one.
"Do you realize how black you were going?"
The problem, apparently, is with the people murdered, not with the people doing the murdering.
Check out the po-mo epistemology on prole!
"When you pull a gun on a cop, there's an extremely high chance you're going to end up dead, regardless of what race you are."
The cop who shot him and who he pulled a firearm on was undercover and plainclothes.
Now should everyone just assume EVERY visibly armed weirdo is an undercover cop and do nothing, or is it reasonable to assume a cop with no visual cues that they are a cop, visually armed might be some sort of criminal that pulling a gun on might be necessary for your survival??
The way I see it is that when the cop isn't CLEARLY a cop, but looks like some everyday armed plainclothes THUG, the "don't pull a weapon on a cop" defense doesn't fucking work now does it??
Just saying, if I had a gun and some random asshole thug on the street walks up to me with a firearm unprompted, my first thought isn't gonna be "Oh, maybe this guy's just a plainclothes officer who wants to talk to me" it's gonna be "Why the fuck is this armed stranger thug approaching me??"
And, of course, why was he approaching him in the first place? NC is an open carry state. There has been no evidence or testimony that before he got back in the car that he was anything other than armed. That's not a crime in NC... unless you are black, I guess.
An armed white man would be spared, then?
Or maybe a culture of insularity and paranoia and the expectation of being exempted from the law has more to do with a black cop shooting a black man than does race.
An armed white man would be spared, then?
Maybe. Who knows? But a large contingent of people ready to trust the police and distrust black victims sure does making it easier on any cop who feels like harassing a black motorist who didn't seem to be doing anything illegal before being braced.
The cop who shot him and who he pulled a firearm on was undercover and plainclothes.
Is it known who drew and/or who fired first? This makes it sound like he pulled a gun on a plainclothed person who turned out to be a cop. In which case, 'shit happens' is being pretty generous to such an amoral fuck up.
Once again, most decidedly not like the shooting in OK where the guy was unarmed with his hands up and just changing a tire. There does seem to be a significant trend where these things happen in groups and all the ire is heaped on the one where police were called to the scene where an altercation ensues and the career criminal ends up dead. Rather than the incidents where guy driving to work gets plugged for not putting his hands in the air and getting on the ground at the same time.
Is it known who drew and/or who fired first? This makes it sound like he pulled a gun on a plainclothed person who turned out to be a cop. In which case, 'shit happens' is being pretty generous to such an amoral fuck up.
It's probably best just to shoot all the blacks they aren't looking for, on sight, that way there's no question.
It's probably best just to shoot all the blacks they aren't looking for, on sight, that way there's no question.
Seriously, I'm not pro-cop by any means, the officer who shot the guy changing a tire in OK ought to be doing time if not strung up. But some of these arguments start to undermine the 2A and due process. Such that anyone who's a public servant has no right to defend themselves against anyone and, if they do, they should be assumed guilty of all actions and for any reason until proven innocent (Which I'm not exactly opposed to, but if we start convicting tax fraudsters of murder for defending themselves, we're talking about replacing law and order with the bad, mob-mentality kind of anarchy/chaos).
If the officer drew and/or fired first take his badge and put him in front of a grand jury. Otherwise, you'd be hard pressed to prove that, even if he were a civilian, he was guilty of anything more than manslaughter.
all the ire is heaped on the one where police were called to the scene where an altercation ensues and the career criminal ends up dead.
I don't think that's what happened in this case (unless I am misreading you). The police were there to serve an unrelated warrant. I'm not clear on whether there were uniformed police present as well as the plainclothes guy who shot him.
Is it known who drew and/or who fired first?
And I'm pretty sure no one is saying that the victim fired at all. The police did all the shooting.
I think the question is whether he had a gun AND was threatening the police with it.
I remember sitting in traffic with a buddy, leaving work at J&L's steel mill in Aliquippa, PA, and some crazy guy in jeans and a flannel shirt was walking around in the parking lot looking in people's cars while openly carrying a large revolver in a shoulder holster. My first thought was "Holy shit, he's going to shoot someone!" My second thought was "I wish I had my gun", even though his gun was still holstered. It turned out that he was a cop (there were other cops, many in uniform, but he was the first one I saw) and he was looking for a rape/murder suspect who ran through steel mill property to swim across the river to escape. We were white and the suspect was black so he only glanced into our car, but this this kind of situation, which is sort of unusual, could easily be misinterpreted.
It's just more black-on-black crime.
But, still... a dead nigger makes you feel good, right? That dead nigger warm fuzzy you love so much.
I will go tell my black GF, who keeps reading about young black folks getting killed by cops for doing nothing wrong, about how DD thinks its OK for cops to keep murdering people, especially if they previously did time. I'm sure she'll be convinced by that unimpeachable logic.
No matter how thick that pile of shit between your ears gets, it still doesn't change the fact that the guy pulled a gun on him.
it still doesn't change the fact that the guy pulled a gun on him.
Yes, according to the cops, who have never lied about anything like that.
Actually, we don't know this. What we do know is that the police consider it *unclear* as to whether or not he had a gun in his hand in the footage they have.
And I would ask you to consider these things.
1. If he wasn't a target of the police, why would he come out of the car with a gun in his hand?
2. If he came out with a gun in his hand with the intent to kill the cop - how did the cop get the shot off first? Did the *plainclothes* officer already have his gun drawn?
3. If you're sitting in your car minding your own business when (even uniformed) cops come up to fuck with you - why should you not respond in kind? Why should the police get deference that you wouldn't give a couple randos?
4. To quote someone else "Noncompliance is not an executable offense, and that's doubly true when the police have no reason to give commands in the first place. . . . they do not have free-floating authority to order anyone to do anything whenever they feel like it. . . . Let's not normalize our subjugation by saying our exercise of rights excuses a cop's killing. It does not."
http://tinyurl.com/jzxs5qb
Indeed. Did the dead guy even know there were cops around? The shooter was plainclothes. Any uniforms in the vicinity? Any reason to think the shooter was a cop?
And these post facto discoveries (rap sheet, drugs in car, whatever) do exactly zero to justify the decision to kill, which can only be defended based on what the cops actually knew in that moment.
It's a weird and fine line between sucking off the cops and just thinking any black person deserves whatever they get.
The Venn diagram of those two categories has an awful lot of overlap.
This is where conservatives lose their shit. Whenever this sort of stuff happens they suspend rational thought and go right to 'defend the blue' mode full throttle.
Unlike the Obama-worshipping, race card carrying liberal retards around here, I'm 100% about facts and evidence. Every incident needs to be judged independently from all the others based upon the best availlable facts and evidence.
In Tulsa, the evidence points to that one probably being a totally unjustified homicide. In Charlotte, the evidence clearly points to that one being a case of a proven violent career criminal pulling a gun on a cop (not to mention race not even being a factor at all).
The media morons should be focused on Tulsa, and not on Charlotte. In all likelihood they're focused on Charlotte because that's where the rioting and looting is going on, and they're excited about it because a bunch of total fucking morons who love that sort of thing.
I think most of the people around here would agree they should be judged and investigated on a case by case situation.
Everyone except yo' Momma.
I think most of the people around here would agree they should be judged and investigated on a case by case situation.
Of course every sane, normal, and rational person understands that.
The rabid leftards on the other hands like SugarFree, Citizen X, and prolefeed, there's nothing in the world that can be done to help them, because they're complete loons.
Of course every sane, normal, and rational person understands that.
So you don't understand it.
Oh, Mikey. Are you going to accuse us of being David Weigel, too?
The rabid leftards on the other hands like SugarFree, Citizen X, and prolefeed
Dude, I think he just called you out. It's time to discuss terms.
Unlike the Obama-worshipping, race card carrying liberal retards around here, I'm 100% about facts and evidence.
Comedy gold.
"pulling a gun on a cop"
No, you fool, he pulled a gun on an ARMED THUG who happened to be a cop in plainclothes. When you look like a criminal, it is RATIONAL that people assume you are a criminal, even if you secretly have a badge.
You don't get to pull the cop card when you look like a thug, not a cop.
Cops are never out of uniform. The halo should have announced to the victim who he was dealing with.
Listen, SugarCuck, just learn your place and everything will be fine, M'kay?
Well, the way I see a situation such as this, if even a uniformed cop pulls a gun on me without probable cause he is a violent criminal, acting outside the law, and I am in fear of my life. I am therefore justified in defending myself with deadly force to stop the threat from the violent armed criminal. His profession is irrelevant. Be he an engineer, nurse, or police officer, if he is threatening me with severe bodily harm then I am justified in responding with deadly force.
Good luck getting a judge/jury to see it that way, should you survive until trial.
Obviously, I am just making a point about law and order as it should be under our current system of government. Not pointing out that our government doesn't follow the laws of our government.
Trudat. Better tried by twelve than carried by six.
Did you notice a sign out in front of my house that said "Dead Nigger Storage"? You know WHY you didn't see that sign? 'Cause it ain't there, 'cause storing dead niggers ain't my fucking business, that's why!
Yeah, take that, Blow-Schmama Jr!
A violent black career criminal pulled a gun on a black cop in a predominantly black city with a black police chief and a predominantly black city council.
a) There is no clear evidence that the dead guy took any offensive action with his gun, and
b) The cop who shot him was not in uniform at the time and was armed herself
So it is entirely reasonable to conclude that the initial media narrative was (as usual) bullshit, but that the hypersensitive overcorrection you are engaged in here is not any better.
Another point is that there is no evidence that the police knew who the dead guy was or that he had a criminal record. So that played no role in the decision to shoot him.
A violent black career criminal
I like the gratuitous reference to his race, DD.

Assumes assertions that are not corroborated.
*sad banjo twang*
Can we stop with the fucking accusations of racism when there is no evidence to support that claim? There are plenty of racists who comment here; there's no need to throw the accusation at those heretofore undeserving of the label.
This is exactly what I'd expect a racist to say.
It's racists all the way down.
Can we stop with the fucking accusations of racism when there is no evidence to support that claim?
*Checks race-baiting stopwatch*
Nope, still about 150 more years to go.
To be fair, Mike M. isn't necessarily a racist; he's more a garden-variety idiot whose mother dresses him funny.

Files for 3D-printed guns are not protected under the First or Second Amendments, according to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals
The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals is an ass.
Do you ever think it occurs to them, for even a flickering moment, when ginning up all this animosity and fear of terrorists getting their hands on files (of guns) that it might come back to bite them in the ass?
Haven't read the opinion, but I suspect to boils down to:
Not protected by the 1A because its a weapon, not speech.
Not protected by the 2A because its not a weapon, its speech.
It's cached with 'the terrorists win' thought-terminating meme. Talking with terrorists is illegal, selling guns for terrorists is illegal, so talking about how to make guns with terrorists is doubly illegal.
Making guns for terrorists is illegal, that is.
Mandy, Mother of Brian has dementia
Man, today sucks.
Man, today sucks.
Did you forget you already posted that?
He fathered a daughter at age of 69 and has a wife 41 years younger than him. He has had a great run! Sad.
Sucks to be a kid whose father basically went retarded when you were 5
^This. But even without the dementia it is unfair to your children to have them late in life, and you're not doing yourself any favors by setting yourself up to have to raise teenagers in your fifties or beyond. This is not, of course, a call for any sort of prohibition on that, but merely an observation.
But, yeah, the dementia thing totally sucks.
Well, shit, I'm 36 and want more kids, if I impregnate someone today the kid would start high school when I was 51
I'm so fucking old
I had my only begotten son at 38. He's now 8. I'm thinking I'll be okay 4 years from now.
Time to get to work, son.
Well, when you're fairly rich its not the same sort of burden as for the rest of us. Its not like the kid's going to *have* to scramble or the siblings make sacrifices to support the family.
I was thinking more about the ongoing challenges of parenting teenagers.
The best option is to abort them right before they start puberty.
My wife is 30 years younger than me. This is something we talked about before we got married.
We thought about adopting an older kid but decided no.
Well, shit

I'll be the asshole who notes that Terry Jones was the weakest member of Python by far. He was just along for the ride.

He was quite possibly one of the strongest of the *behind the camera* (or scenes). But yeah, on camera he's mainly 'British dude dressed up as woman' of which there are about a bajillion British dudes making a living doing that.
And bajillions more who just do it as a hobby, amirite?
It's not a hobby, it's a lifestyle.
Gilliam was the weakest performer by a long shot, of course that's why he only got small roles.
And as noted by Agamamon his most significant contribution to the Pythons was as a writer and director.
Don't forget animator.
phbbbt!
Terry Gilliam was the animator.
Yes. I read Tonio's 2nd (unclear) line as being about Gilliam and not Jones.
He was less memorable than the others perhaps and served as a straight man a lot when he wasn't playing a pepper pot woman. But a very good performer, I think.
And as others point out, he did a lot of directing, writing and other behind the scenes stuff.

We are very fortunate we didn't have to rely on those types to invade Nazi Germany.
You know its funny. In *my* day if some little shit did this they'd just have put the tags back and erased the marker board and . . . that's it. Which is why in my day little shits didn't bother with this sort of thing.
Now everyone freaks out so the little shits think its fucking hilarious and will do things like see one dude make a swastika and think 'I've got to get in on that!'
The theory today seems to be "Lets give this attention-seeking nimrod all the attention he wants! That'll show 'em!"

One woman's account of being profiled as a sex-trafficking victim at Whole Foods.
The real victims there are the employees for having to work for an owner who took to the papers to argue against Obamacare.
That's the inherent problem with places like that. You tend to attract hyper-vigilant SJW employees who want to work there for the employ discount without which they could not otherwise afford to shop there. Those employees tend to drive off the paying customers.

That is a pretty nasty euphemism.
I'll trade you for long-winded descriptions of what's going on in my daughter's Minecraft world.
We got those last year. I had sort of thought we were past Pokemon as well, until that stupid Pokemon Go game started it all back up again.
I would totally listen to a kid go on and on about minecraft, that sounds incredible. I got nothin to trade though.
My eight year old has a roller coaster that spans two mountains and goes under the ocean.

So rich. Like this.
My seven year old built a house next to his brother's. Built it out of TNT, because he's seven, so of course. Then he started placing torches for light. The newly built house exploded, naturally. So he tried placing water to stop the growing conflagration, which was spreading to his brother's house. Flowing water. The water rapidly got out of hand, so he started dropping lava to stop the spread of the water.
Once both houses were wrecked, flooded, with random obsidian and lava spurting out occasionally, he thought that maybe he should ask Mom to step in.
This is remarkable... Same thing happened during the construction of Dr. ZG's Separate Girl Cave Bathroom at Fortress Maximus.

My Minecraft escapades are pretty mundane, but I had a good run on a FTB server earlier this year (makes crafting rather more complicated, having to build dozens of machines to machine parts for other machines). I was really enjoying myself when I finally got around to building a nuclear reactor... I looked up the safest possible configuration for fuel and cooling, built the chamber in a disused quarry pit near my base, and started it up... was very pleased with myself.
Long story short I logged in a bit later to see most of everything I had built had been replaced by a crater.
Fans of Feed The Beast who get overwhelmed with routing pipes and configuring logic might enjoy Factorio, it's like a 2d minecraft if it was built in that old DOS game Syndicate. Plenty of crafting/conveyorbelt goodness but slightly more manageable since it's flat.

The squirrelz is strong in this one
My friend, the squirrels are vicious predators, capable of sniffing out the weakest internet equipment. You must make your equipment strong. Like Russian bear! Change the batteries in your mouse - they are attracted to the puny discharges, this is known. If need be, cull the weak and replace your mouse with a new one, better suited to fight the ravaging squirrel horde.

What's the age of consent for spiders?
(asking for a friend)
The young females' reproductive organs are functional, but internal, and protected by an exoskeleton. The dirty old man spiders cut through the exoskeleton with their fangs, and leave a special sperm delivery in the female's sperm receptacle.
So the Elder Ones are just evolved spiders that came back from the future?
One of many species where the description of sex sounds more like a battle...
No they fucking well do not keep getting killed. They only get killed once. The male spiders who have a behavioral mutation that makes them chase younger females survive longer. Nobody's noticed shit here.
The most annoying thing about simpleton evolution is that they make it sound like intelligent design.
More interesting then watching a new breeding pattern take hold is how humans are interpreting it. Love the Gizomodo article talking about how 'selfish' the male spiders are for not allowing themselves to be eaten. Yes, because their behavior has anything to do with what humans would call desires.

I'm not sure how this sort of blackmail works.
Minneapolis city council member publicly warns rest of council that if they vote for an ethics charge against her, she will release information about other council members doing the same things.
Um, I think blackmail is supposed to be kept quiet. If I lived in Mpls, I'd be wondering why investigations aren't being started on more city council members.
* The ethics charge was because she was tweeting contact info out about her constituents who had contacted her office to complain about her support for BLM.
Well, this seems like something an FOIA order could discover.
It's not blackmail, it's Mutually Assured Destruction.
"The ethics charge was because she tweeting contact info out about her constituents who had contacted her office to complain about her support for BLM."
Minnesotans have a funny way of saying things. Does any other place call inciting violence an "ethics charge"?
Eventually, they all get cocky because it becomes regular behavior and next thing you know they're talking openly about it.
"If you DARE condemn my corruption I'll show expose more corruption!!"
That sounds like a good thing to the voters. Now anyone who votes against the charge against her can be assumed to be corrupt as well...
That didn't work out too well for the Klan in Indiana.
It is Mpls. Most voters there probably agree that it was a good thing to out the wrong thinkers who are against the BLM.
I have no idea why anyone would live in the city limits there.
I live in the city limits of Mpls - affordable old houses and it's basically like living in a giant park. You have to ignore a lot of bullshit to make it worthwhile, but I have acess to a hundred miles of interconnected bike trails 200 feet from my house...so there it is.

This lady is so far out there that even the hardcore leftist progressives in Minneapolis are becoming unwilling to overlook her craziness. Aside from this she has a reputation for being consistently unprepared and has taken multiple international trips on the city's dime. Any criticism, however minor, is met with a barrage of racism accusations. The rest of the council is tired of her. Hopefully they force her out in the next election cycle.

So What Is the Fiscal and Economic Impact of Immigration?
You think at this point we can all drop the subjects of immigrants.
"WHOA WHOA WHOA. Something about this... I dunno, George, do you think we're missing the point?"
And now post the link where Cato says it's all a big fat lie because half of all tech industry billionaires are immigrants, and besides, it doesn't count as welfare if it's 4 teh childrunz.
My wife is a Western European immigrant and is an office manager at a swanky law firm and makes far more money than me, the native spouse. She adds much more value to this country than I do. But this is also an anecdote and a statistical outlier in just about every regard.
I don't doubt a good many legal immigrants that get in on employment and skills based visas are high earners, just by nature of the selection process. Those aren't the only people who get in though, and Cato's rebuttal to every one of these studies that finds immigrants as a group to be net users of welfare is exactly the same, going clear the fuck back to Borjas in the '90s. "Immigrants don't use welfare; they just happen to live in low-income households where they benefit from welfare collected by others". Technically correct is the best kind, they say.
My wife got here on marriage visa. I stole her away from Europe. And the Cato institute is full of shit. Mostly a bunch of Chicago school make-believe libertarians.
Eh, Cato does some pretty good work generally I think, but they do have their biases and policy preferences (and funding sources) like anybody else. Their "...yeah, but it's good for the type of people who bankroll our research" analysis of the TPP was another example.
I needn't worry about that particular species of bias from the Ludwig von Mises Institute, which doesn't concern itself with advising politicians on how to make the state more efficient at perpetrating it's myriad of crimes.
My wife is a Western European immigrant and is an office manager at a swanky law firm and makes far more money than me, the native spouse.
Well, we know who to deport.
.
Speaking for myself, I have no interest in violating people's rights in order to make the push the welfare state's demise off a decade or two.
What rights are being violated? The poorly reasoned "right to free movement"? Does every Somali raft captain have a right to move here? Do they all have a right to move to Vatican City or Monaco too? Is it my private property they have a natural right to utilize, or do they just have a natural right to utilize property only once it's stolen and becomes "public"? Because it would certainly be interesting to learn that natural rights flow from crimes committed by entities with no natural right to exist in and of themselves.
They have the same right you do to rent an apartment or buy real estate. They have the same right that you do to buy or sell goods or services. They have the same right you do to enter into contracts.
And your argument that somehow they magically lack rights because of where they were born does not become well reasoned because you pretend otherwise.
You just described some contractual rights, which no one has prima facie. And you know damn well that the mass movements of people coming out of the third world aren't coming to the west with the capital resources and contractual agreements already in place to facilitate their move. The Somali colony about 30 minutes from my house is financed by my and many other people's paycheck. As is their "free" college education at the nearby university campus.
This is fascinating! So if I have no rights, how do I get your permission to enter into contracts, o mister free society?
It's a catch-22 'cause you have to sign a contract to get those rights.
"The Somali colony about 30 minutes from my house is financed by my and many other people's paycheck. As is their "free" college education at the nearby university campus."
"The problem is obviously us giving them free stuff, not them coming here, but let's ultimately just bitch about them coming here!!"
-Pretty much every anti-immigration argument I've ever heard.
"The problem is obviously us giving them free stuff, not them coming here, but let's ultimately just bitch about them coming here!!"
When their coming here is pretty strictly conditional on the free stuff, they're not neatly separable issues.
"It's theoretically possible that in the absence of a welfare state, immigrants wouldn't use it, so let's ultimately just pretend there hasn't been a robust social safety net for over a century and call everyone who disagrees with us racists"
-Pretty much every open borders argument I've ever heard at Reason, where Dalmia represents the height of intellect on the issue.
So we should stop bringing in refugees and subsidizing their existence. I don't think anyone disagrees with that.
That doesn't mean that there isn't a general right to freely enter into contracts with whomever you like. Nor does it mean that people who do have the means to do it on their own don't have a right to travel anywhere they are allowed to be by the property owner. (And, yes, the realities of the modern state do probably practically require some limitations on that, but not beyond excluding dangerous people who mean harm or carry infectious diseases.)
They have the same right you do to rent an apartment or buy real estate. They have the same right that you do to buy or sell goods or services. They have the same right you do to enter into contracts.
Aside from security theater restrictions on the transfer of capital, there's no impediment to a Somali pirate signing a rental agreement or letter of intent and securing lodging for themselves in America. Occupying the lodging is where your "rights" become tricky, since even theoretically the only means of getting there is traversing a vast expanse of commonly-owned property or a vast expanse of unowned and unoccupied property. ROADZ!!!! is a strawman argument in most cases, but it actually does present a legitimate conundrum for the ethical principle you espouse. When your "right" is utterly dependent on property being communal it's in direct contradiction to individual property rights. Sea navigation is another example. Your argument that rights are derived from tragedies of the commons does not become well reasoned because you pretend otherwise.
Can I encircle you in your property and refuse to let you leave?
If the Somali hasn't the rights to purchase property and enter into contracts on this land, why does an American?? Because the American was born on the right dirt??
Clearly tarran meant the right to not end up fucked like England with an insane open-borders policy.

So you have such a great candidate that Trump must be criticized at all times and any criticism of hillary is wrong.
A lawsuit accusing Donald Trump of raping a teenager in the '90s will be re-filed in New York with an additional witness, lawyers said.
Yes, involving Epstein, the same creep who brought Bill Clinton to underage whore island, and who got a slap on the wrist from the Department of "Justice". This has the potential to get interesting. But it probably won't result in anything more than a couple of dead witnesses.
Of course, I've always suspected that this was leverage the Clintons used to "encourage" Trump to run for President. But shit may have gotten out of hand for them, since if he wins he can probably wriggle out from under their thumb.
Meh, 20 year old lawsuit complete with previous occurrence of the 'victim' disappearing/not cooperating. Even though it involves Slick Willy I will keep my skeptical face in my back pocket.
Plus if they had a proper whore island they would use well-compensated Eastern European girls. Not saying that makes it right, just saying that they were smart enough and rich enough to do it the right way.
Not saying that makes it right, just saying that they were smart enough and rich enough to do it the right way.
Rich enough, sure. Smart enough? I'm skeptical.
This particular event may have happened in the nineties, but my recollection is a lot of the stuff was in the mid 2000s (he got busted in the 2008). And there was a lot of stuff. I've no doubt he's very smart, but the angels touched him at some point, too.
My takeaway was, if you've got no good options at home, get your GED or diploma and join the US military.
My grandfather was a poor white - second generation Dutch - who had to make ends meet with a family of six. But he was still self-educated in geology and archaeology. His house had so many books in the attic that extra supports had to be put in.
My dad tells me stories of replacing the leather bellows in the basement for the hand pump that was in the kitchen. Where the sink dumped out in the yard. There was no bath. They had to bathe at the sink. And the trips to Salvation Army and Goodwill, and the hand-me-down clothes he had to wear. And the ancient cars - his first was a Ford Model A - that rolled through the front yard. Or his first job - at age 11 - selling ice cream from a bike.
But he got to college - where he dropped out and became a shoe clerk. And eventually - through many steps - working for a large local company as an executive. He was able to retire at the age of 55, living in a house on Lake Michigan.
His older brother, who only got a GED, started his own tool and die company - and retired a multi-millionaire.
Hillbilly Elegy is in my to-read pile since I'm at most one generation removed from that area (and culture) of the country.
We'll see how it goes. My first thought is that it will be a bit romantic about the area for my tastes. There's nothing romantic about coal country poverty and ignorance.
Its actually set in industrial Ohio, and he doesn't really romanticize it, other than his memories of being 6-12 were untainted by knowing they were poor.
My mom and dad both came from poverty, although dad's was much more genteel--his father, a nuclear physicist with a penchant for country living, elected to live at least an hour away from the facilities where he worked, which is why they ended up living upstate of Los Alamos in a trailer in a tiny village populated mainly by Hispanic ranchers and cows. We expected a sparse, intimate gathering when he passed away, but it ended up looking like a quinceanera.
Mom's parents were straight-up hicks, essentially latter-day okies who broke down on the way to California and housed their five children in a two-bedroom house on the outskirts of Albuquerque (outskirts which are now the heart of the gentrifying valley). It's currently being rented out to a gay couple who converted the old pumphouse out back into a hipster chicken coop, which is a far cry from derelict piece of shit I grew up knowing.
I've yet to read the book, but I think I'll put it on the list. Despite mom's back-to-basics efforts in my childhood I haven't done much, nor much wanted, to revisit their roots. The trappings of poverty bum me out in a bad way. I've written before about cleaning up after no-class trashy renters. It puts me in a terrible funk. There's nothing romantic or excusable about pill-popping heroin-addicted cola-trading food-stamp-intermediating SSI-dependent white trash culture, and I thank fate and my parents' hard work for lifting themselves out of it.
If only they had simply shot the guy...
THIS HAD ITS OWN ARTICLE YESTERDAY!
I don't trust Krayewski to stay on top of it.
These euphemisms!
Can we be sure that the author didn't misspell 'Bill Clinton'?
I think they meant Bob Saget.
A lawsuit accusing Donald Trump Bill Clinton of raping a teenager Bob Saget in the '90s will be re-filed in New York with an additional witness, lawyers said.
FTFY?
You ruined my joke.
Let the kid be named Lindsay or Graham.
^this^ hilarious
I thought Lindsay Graham was a 13 year old senator. The only time that face of his has felt facial hair was when he was being mounted missionary style by a train of defense industry lobbyists.
Ohio Democrats Flocking to Trump:
Sow the wind and reap the whirlwind, Democrats.
I see the democrats becoming the party of rich/elitists. It is why they want to tax the rich....they take from productive rich that aren't affiliated with government and spend that money on the rich they are connected to.
The rich and the poor. The middle is ignored, despite their claim to represent them.
How many (swing) states (in blue/red areas) will release next year's insurance premium increase pre vs. post election?
They have pretty hard deadlines in statutes/regs for filing and approving premium increases. Those deadline are just about all before November.
But, will they bury it? Sure. The insurance companies aren't likely to squawk, either.
I posted this a couple of days ago. But it's worth a second look.
"He literally pees out his window," Skook said, gesturing toward the house next door on Como Street, occupied by a Trump backer.
That was wrong? I'm not supposed to do that?
"Is that wron? Because if I knew that was wrong...I tell ya, Ive worked at a kot of companies out there where this goes on all the time"

Washington (CNN) Prosecutors in the office of US Attorney Preet Bharara have issued a subpoena for Anthony Weiner's cell phone and other records, according to law enforcement officials.
Preet don't sleep.
I'm just excited to see more leaked bulge pics.
Your mother always enjoyed them too...
Who do you think is doing the leaking?
or what, pray tell?
You've read SugarFree. You can probably guess.
No, I can't guess because I've read SugarFree. You never know what's going to come squirting out of an orifice in a SugarFree joint.
I still don't know why he'd get invited to appear on talk shows including one called, if memory serves right, 'The Independents' or was it 'The Interrupter'?
We should take everything Preet Bahara says or does with a grain of salt.
Preet Bahara is very good at generating headlines with his name in them.
But that isn't the job of the U.S. Attorney's Office.
"To protect a defendant's right to a fair trial, an array of ethical rules circumscribe the kinds of comments a prosecutor can make. Several of Bharara's public comments appear to have violated these rules. Federal and New York ethics rules authorize a prosecutor to explain to the public the criminal charges filed against a defendant, but the rules prohibit a prosecutor from making subjective statements that assail the character of a defendant or from insinuating opinions about the defendant's guilt. Some of Bharara's public statements have done just that."
"Mouthing Off"
Preet Bharara is an entertaining speaker, but he goes too far.

Just because Weiner is a pathetic human being doesn't mean we should believe anything Preet Bahara's office says about him.
Facebook launches first nationwide voter registration drive
And then there will be a thing to say "Vote Clinton to be on the right side of history"
Since younger people seem to be gravitating toward Johnson, this could backfire...
Rock the Vote! Vote or Die! Register Now!
I look forward to seeing just how fucking retarded the 2020 campaign by a bunch of AARP members to make voting seem cool turns out to be.
Save Our Bluths!
Vote or Die, Motherfucker!

Armed Ex-felon Stops Robbery, Will Probably Not Face Charges:
Original link is 404'd for me, using the Instapundit link instead. Sorry.
Technically, he's still a felon unless he's had his rights restored, but good on him and good on Tennessee.
Technically, he's still a felon unless he's had his rights restored
Seriously? I had no idea. I figure, you pay your debt to society, you get your rights back. Should be simple. I know it doesn't work that way, but still.
*Chucks 2nd stone*
THAT didn't feel wrong despite my sins.

Another story about the same thing. The Insty link failed me too.
Tennessee has become my new favorite state.
Wow. A case were...fairness and logic prevails?
"A lawsuit accusing Donald Trump of raping a teenager in the '90s will be re-filed in New York with an additional witness, lawyers said."
I assume this is all on the up-and-up. None of these lawyers nor the new witness have any connection to the democratic party, surely.
A quick read of that...and it reads just like Jackie's ordeal.
So... Jackie wasn't lying?
There was evidence a while back connecting Trump to Epstein, before he even ran this year (and lots of other notable people). I've been saying since he started running and winning and conspiracy theories started swirling that if he was doing this for the Clintons, it was because they were using this as leverage. Of course, they presumably got that evidence in the course of covering up Bill's rapes.
I really, really doubt the Clintons want Epstein's name appearing in the media.
As blackmail goes, it's kind of like holding up a bank with a nuclear weapon.
You know who else was accused of tape in the 1990's?
Rob Lowe?
3M?
"A lawsuit accusing Donald Trump of raping a teenager in the '90s will be re-filed in New York with an additional witness, lawyers said."
Uh, Blue Tribe, you guys might not want to jump the gun on this and try to use past rape accusations against the Red Tribe candidate. It might backfire...
Love this woman. We're are definitely going to raise rates. In December. A December sometime this century. It's become a total farce.
December is perhaps the most politically acceptable. After the elections, before the new terms. Problem is they need about an 8% raise, and they're looking at a quarter.
Longmire is here!
Longmire is here.
Long live Longmire!
It lost me in season 4.
Can you explain why without blowing it for people who haven't seen it?
P.S. Longmire gave up on you in season 2.
Just got too trendy with sub-plots. Tried too hard to make commentary on current events instead of telling a story.
I can't think of any commentary on current events.
There were lots of opportunities to talk about fracking, etc. They're used Native Americans as bad guys.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Is Polish an unlicensed boxing promoter?
Listen, it's clear what happened here. Elizabeth was linking between bagel bites and was debating whether to write 'The Polish' or 'Poland' but then the taste of the delicious bagel distracted her hastily going with 'Polish'.
Or she was thinking of a past beau.
Your cis-mansplaining is a microaggression
I figured maybe she was thinking of Statham.
Nah, she was thinking of Peter Sarsgaard, not to be mistaken for Peter Skarsgaard.
What you're saying is that 'Polish the Bagel' is another one of them euphemisms?
hows those sausages comin, charlie?
"Files for 3D-printed guns are not protected under the First or Second Amendments, according to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals."
I don't think that's what the story or the court said.
"The lawsuit, Defense Distributed v. Department of State, centers on whether a website that publishes CAD files?which would enable foreigners outside the US to print a firearm?violates munitions export laws . . .
Previously at the district court level, Defense Distributed filed a motion for preliminary injunction, which would have allowed it to restore those files and even publish new ones. The appeal was meant to challenge the denial of the preliminary injunction. Under the 5th Circuit order, Defense Distributed will now be remanded, or sent back down, to the district court for further consideration.
. . .
Defense Distributed [submitted] a "commodity jurisdiction request" to the Department of State, which they hoped would clear the way for the publication of the files. After waiting for two years, Defense Distributed, along with the Second Amendment Foundation, sued the Department of State and argued that the government's action constituted "prior restraint"?preventing publication before it occurs.

Per a discussion yesterday about Twitter being on its way to zombiehood. Salesforce and Google named as potential suitors. Drives Salesforce's stock down 5%.
So, I congratulate whomever said that the platform had some inherent value even if could never be independently profitable.
I look forward to "banned by Twitter" being a mark of approbation among anti-progressives.
Only a Clinton supporter would think she has had far more negative coverage than Trump and that CNN is in the tank for trump.
I saw a US News and World Report article about the media's unfair treatment against the wonderful generous Hillary and her glorious foundation and how the evil Trump is getting a pass. Man, that publication has totally gone to shit. Does Time own them now?
With the debate at hand, the Machine has signaled it's strategy. A couple of days ago I started seeing links to articles about the social media ground game, with Clinton having huge armies of twitter accounts and followers that were being used to pressure the moderators into fact-checking Trump during the debates.
Yesterday I started noticing the full-court-press in the mainstream media. A couple of stations were talking about Holt fact-checking Trump last night, and this morning NPR had an "Analyst" telling us that it was right and good and just that the moderator get involved and hold the candidates feet to the fire. Then they had a guest talking about how Hillary has an army of Twitter followers (and presumably bots galore) that have been primed to live tweet the debate and give the impression that Hillary is winning. They want to make sure the narrative is that Hillary dominated the debate and the election is now over.
They are specifically targeting this at all of the reporters and pundits covering the debate, with the notion that creating the trend on Twitter will get the instant reaction on their side.
Today I also noticed that they've moved to neuter any criticism by making sure there is a story about Trump's social media campaign. They are calling his plan "shitposting". They are also characterizing it as an attempt by "near billionaires" to outspend you and destroy you by any means necessary".
Because George Soros is just a poor little Hungarian-American Billionaire, who ratted out fellow Jews to the Nazis, and totally broke the Bank of England because he could...... and he spends no money on Democrat causes and candidates....
Once a thug, always a thug.
If you don't want to get unpaid suspension like a thug, don't shoot innocent people like a thug.
All those Alinsky tactics are coming around to bite the Left in the ass. It's expected when the Left has become the status quo and the the only way to be a radical is to come from the Right. We live in truly fucked times. Cool.
Howard: Typical lefty puritan.
Sally: Typical what? Come the revolution-
Patrick: What revolution!? You guys are in power! We're the revolution now!
Sally: No. No, it can't be right.
Patrick: You're the evil empire.
Sally: No!
Howard: Yes! Like Star Wars, and Patrick and me are the rebel alliance.
Sally: No! You're not the goodies, we're the goodies! We're lefties!! We're always goodies!
Patrick: *puts glass on his mouth and makes a Darth Vader voice* No, Sally. You're the establishment.
Sally: Don't say that! You bastard.
Patrick: Ah, you can't call me bastard anymore, that's oppressive. *does a mock wail* You're oppressing me!

Is... is that series any good?
The UK version has it's moments, if you can get past the boring britcom bits. Episode "Lesbian Spank Inferno" particularly recommended.
Trump should get Hillary to defend him in the rape case.
I'll bet someone else already wrote that
Because they're files to make guns. Any other file - it's protected.
See? Justice!
In that order. Which implies the following: Don't go to France!
They should be rather placed in the "Slightly off-kilter list."
Is her name "China"?
Let's call that guy and tell him he can't. Who's the Polish guy, again? Oh, POLAND! Oh! Ok.
They kept forgetting about it.

The new micro-aggression: "Too dumb to be a prostitute."
Will everyone survive millennials, huh?
No-go zones in Sweden increase in number:
The June 20, 2016, complaint accused the Republican presidential nominee and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein of rape, sexual misconduct, criminal sexual acts, sexual abuse, forcible touching, assault, battery, intentional and reckless infliction of emotional distress, duress, false imprisonment, and defamation.
From the link.
Epstein, you say? Of Lolita Express fame?
On this could get really interesting - the opportunity to cause mischief, as Trump's lawyer, by calling, oh, gee, Bill Clinton, as a witness . . . .
"The plaintiff claims she was raped by Trump during a 1994 summer party thrown by billionaire Jeffrey Epstein at an Upper East Side mansion on East 71st St.
The Jane Doe plaintiff claims Trump ignored her loud pleas to stop, struck her with an open hand and threatened to harm, if not kill her and her entire family if she ever revealed details of the assault.
The second declaration was signed by pseudonymous Tiffany Doe, who said she was hired by Jeffrey Epstein throughout the 1990s to recruit adolescent women to attend the billionaire's parties."
http://tinyurl.com/go7yv3p
The key testimony is from a woman who refuses to be identified, claiming that she procured underage girls for a billionaire's sex party more than 20 years ago--and they've got Trump saying exactly what you'd expect the overage, oversexed billionaire from central casting to say?
I don't believe any of it--not beyond a reasonable doubt and not beyond a preponderance of the evidence.
I also find it unintentionally funny that ENB would include this in AM links along with a story about someone being misidentified as a victim of a sex trafficking ring.
No, just because you might fit some stereotypical view of what a sex trafficking victim is supposed to look like doesn't mean you're a victim of sex trafficking.
But because you're a billionaire playboy running for office, this crap should be taken seriously?
Some people might interpret that as bias. Some people might see TDS.
Bad news for Sick Illary, as the networks will NOT be cutting to a commercial break if she has one of her out of control coughing fits, or her lizard eyes suddenly start oddly rolling around in her head completely independent of each other, or she has a seizure and collapses on the floor.
Here's hoping for her sake she's able to keep it together for a little while, lol.
Fair is fair... Of course actual fairness is not a goal of certain people.
