J.Geach/D.Narayanan/R.Crain The police chief in Charlotte claims Keith Lamont Scott exited his car holding a gun, not a book as his family claimed, and that police could not find a book at the scene. The chief said it was "time for the voiceless majority to stand up and be heard." Scott, the police chief, and the officer who shot Scott are all black.

I don't know what several of those words even mean.
Podcast: Something to you listen to in the car when you're sick of the same songs repeating over and over.
Soundcloud: A website that used to be a place for shitty bands to upload their music but now is mostly used for said podcasts.
iTunes: If you don't know what this one is I'm going to kick you square in the nuts.
I think he doesn't know the meanings of "from", "on", and "and".
good thing the word "is" wasn't included in that sentence. The meaning of that one can be tricky
Start working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go to tech tab for work detail,,,.,.,,,,,,

His dad says he doesn't know what "now" means.
I have a customer that claims he doesn't know whether his roof leaks or not.
His response when I ask him is "how would I know " ?
He's trying to negotiate for a lower price after the work was completed.
Better hire a millennial to manage those nouns for you.
I recommend against that, unless you want said millennial to also manage Fist's pronoun usage.
Can fist truly be expressed by standard pronouns?
Only if they're obscene.
Each of the fingers of the Fist has a different gender.

Reason is referring to a libertarian website.
Available means the same thing as the red light by your door.
On means what Winston's mom does to slob knobs.
Hello.

Observations using telescopes in Hawaii may have helped solve the mystery of the giant green space blob.
Gesundheit.
Shit, I got the reference, thanks for nothing.
[this space reserved for Rufus's "hello"]
Rufus is sorry, but he's sick and tired of our American bullshit. He's gone out to his igloo by the hockey pond and is taking long pulls from a bottle of maple syrup.
Is that igloo Islamically gender-segregated? I hear that is all the rage in the Great White North...
Well, it doesn't have separate entrances for men and women, but he gets away with it because you can't tell the genders apart under all those layers.
Unless, of course, one can speak English and French Quebecois. Then, nothing is left to the imagination. Eeewww.
long pulls from a bottle of maple syrup
That's how you get Canadian diabetes! It's very soorry you lost a toe.
Diabet-ehs?
I need to make this.
ARE WE DONE WITH THE STEREOTYPES?
And it's a bottle of amber maple syrup with LONG JOHNS.
Get your facts straight stoopid Yanks.
Whoa, that's not very polite for a Canadian. You should thank us for using the stereotypes correctly.
ARE WE DONE WITH THE STEREOTYPES?
No.
Are the long johns from Tim Horton?
Typically phlegmatic Fisty.
Speaking of phlegmatic, did you see that video of H, um, spitting into her glass?
No one spits into a glass quite like Walton Goggins.
Russia is deploying its only aircraft carrier to Syria.
In only has one? How the mighty have fallen.
What is that carrier has... err... an accident?
It'll get blamed on America, regardless if it was or wasn't a real accident.
Did it ever have more than one? Their navy is all about submarines. They have more than the US.
BFD. At one point Disney had more than both together.
They can be a vile bunch, but I trust them far more than the US or Russia.
It had a few, but they are classified as "Aircraft-carrying cruisers". In 1990 they had five, now down to only one. But yes, they early-on correctly decided submarines would be more useful in cutting trans-Atlantic shipping if needed.
I think it was more along the lines of 'we can't actually afford nor have the technical expertise to build full-sized carriers to rival the Americans'.
Hence the Bears and the heavy investment in submarines.
However, a significant number of their submarine classes were diesel-electric (and not AIP) which are actually of pretty limited value outside territorial waters - which means they would be useless in the Atlantic (to get into the Atlantic they have to pass through the GUIK chokepoint and that's hard to do if you have to keep snorkeling) but great for protecting their boomer pens and the Okhotsk.
Plus, diesel electric subs can be, and have been, defeated in open water using WWII era technology.
They would be sinking coffins in Battle of Atlantic II.
AIP boats are different category of underwater nasty than stock diesel boats.
Well, to be fair, air craft carriers are great and all until you have to use one in a war with an enemy who has any kind of guided missiles. Then they're huge (extremely expensive) sitting ducks.
They also don't have the warm water ports to service flat tops.
A carrier would be in jeopardy waiting for ice breakers breaking a path.
How do their pilots satisfy their need, their need for speed?
In Soviet Russia, aircraft carrier has YOU.
I bet the carrier's name is Death to the Clintonite Beast.
Given similar aesthetics, I figured carrier was subtle homage to Chelsea.
Technically they've only ever had one. Treaty limitations have relegated their tiny handful of other fixed wing carriers to 'aircraft carrying cruiser' size.
Laid down in 1982 - wasn't fully operational (and even that's debatable when your ship requires a tug to follow it because it keeps breaking down) until 1995.
Lol and it is not even really an Aircraft carrier by American standards being closer in line with our amphibious assault carriers than our actual aircraft carriers.
This thing only carries a max of 33 fixed wing aircraft, American Aircraft carriers carry in excess of 75 fixed wing aircraft and over 90 total
Another miss on these kinds of carriers is no catapult = can't launch aircraft at standard loadings. Sukhoi 27 coming off Kuznetsov's ski-ramp is crippled in ordnance and/or fuel load than identical aircraft off a runway.
Kuznetsov should have stuck to rocket engines.
I have absolutely no clue whether this was a justified shooting or not. But at this point I will always believe the police are lying until proven otherwise.
The Chief also said the officer was not wearing a body cam, despite Charlotte announcing a year ago that it had body cams for every patrol officer.
The important thing is the officer was black, and therefore he would never shoot a black person without good reason.
(for all I know he *did* have a good reason, but it would almost certainly be a race-neutral reason. Even if it was a bad reason, the reason might be race-neutral)
Yeah, it could, and probably is, "a race-neutral bad" reason rather than a "racist bad-reason". The lack of a camera, after making a public announcement that they have cameras from every patrol officer is more than a bit suspicious though.
And nobody cares about race-neutral execution by police.
The important thing is the officer was black, and therefore he would never shoot a black person without good reason this is a *double* hate crime.
If the cop is not wearing a body cam or it "malfunctions", the cop is lying.
If I am ever on a jury again, that is my standard.
A cop without a cam should not be allowed to carry a gun.
"The police chief in Charlotte claims Keith Lamont Scott exited his car holding a gun, not a book as his family claimed, and that police could not find a book at the scene."
Whether or not we could find a gun at the scene is irrelevant. We couldn't find the book. Therefore gun.
Scott, the police chief, and the officer who shot Scott are all black.
But what color were the guns?
Periwinkle?
Blue with gold lettering?
Bravo.
Watch and get pissed off. Not sure who the speaker is or what the original source is.

Don't you mean "foreskin"?
There's a great reply on thread, a gif of Indiana Jones shooting the Muslim swordsman.
Except they live in the UK - so none of them allow each other to have guns anymore.
That is quite a bummer.
That makes no sense. I'm not sure what point he is trying to make.
I think he's trying to make my point for me.
I dont understand why people refuse to believe what their eyes see. Islam creates a morally bankrupt culture. They simply aren't civilized.
Books are more dangerous weapons than guns sometimes.
According to the President's logic, it's easier to buy a gun than a book in America.
Ergo, Scott was more likely carrying a gun.
But you have to buy at least $35 worth of guns.
For free shipping?
I found it a lot more convenient to shoot people with my e-Shooter.
Words are like weapons, they wound sometimes.
Words are weapons, I use them to crush my opponents.

Yep, those fucking Five-Year Plans really slow things down.
But a person doesn't have to point a weapon directly at police to prompt deadly force, CNN law enforcement analyst Art Roderick said.
But certainly the cops shouldn't be able to shoot you just because you're holding a gun.
But certainly the cops should be able to throw the book at you just because you're holding a book.
Gotta fight pulp with pulp.
But a person doesn't have to point a weapon directly at police to prompt deadly force, CNN law enforcement analyst Art Roderick said.
Yeah, I think that's what they're protesting. Making eye contact with a cop is enough to prompt deadly force. So's failure to make eye contact.
There are plenty of reasons to vote for someone other than Trump, but this ain't one of them:
"375 scientists sign letter warning of dangers in voting for Donald Trump"
[...]
"All 375 members of the National Academy of Sciences whose names appear at the bottom of the letter say they are absolutely certain without any doubt that human-caused climate change is "real, serious, and immediate." Failing to address the problem could impact everything from human health to national security."
http://www.sfgate.com/politics.....236691.php
So we need Hillary to help out?
Up yours, pal.
LOL.
Stop being drama queens, scientists. Your vacations to far-off places and home heating are wreaking more havoc than Trump ever can.
Stephen Hawking needs a bigger drool cup.
I'm concerned about the emissions produced by his wheelchair and other accommodations that keep him alive. Being the most crippled cripple who was ever crippled, I think it's safe to assume that he consumes more resources than the average planet destroying heretic.
Stephen Hawking needs a bigger drool cup. Can Hildog have his old one?
I believe Steven Hawking is probably still bitter about his failure to get Melania to visit a swingers club with him.
Is 375 a lot? How many total in the "National Academy of Sciences"?
Wikipedia says approximately 2,000
NAS is almost totally academic and government scientists. Those of us who work in the private sector, well, we don't really matter.
Sounds like scientific consensus?
Soooo only a tenth of that number actually signed this little document?
375 divided by 2000 = 18.75%. Bro, do you even math?
note the timestamps. Free Society posted before the wikipedia reference.
take care before you torch someone here in our little basket of reason
Thanks for drawing the timeline to my attention. You are correct, I was too quick to accuse a bro of being unable to math. Can I still blame this on threaded comments, or has that ship sailed?

These idiots really cant see that they are destroying their credibility.
Of course they did. They can see the grant money gravy train screeching to a halt under Trump.
A boat carrying 600 migrants capsized off the coast of Egypt.
Today it's a boat, tomorrow it's GUAM.

An empty 55 gallon drum cannot capsize. Just sayin'.
A divided Federal Reserve announced it would not raise interest rates at the moment.
No shit.
Also- No mention of Hillary's guest editorial catalogue of vacuous platitudes in the NYT?
I am disappoint.
Just signed my construction loan yesterday. If they can hold off until Spring, they can raise them shortly after I get locked into the real mortgage.
Headline of the day: Canadian Mint Employee Accused of Smuggling $180K of Gold in His Rectum
Shirley Bassey: "Goldrectum" *brass* "He's the man, the man with the Midas butt."
The man who shits gold.
Goldfinger?
Some weekends, sure.
What an asshole.
So Tywin Lannister?
I have it on good authority that Tywin doesn't actually shit gold.
Do they not have metal detectors at the exits of that place? One would think that would be a good idea.
It's Canada. Only USAians commit crime.

As long as Snidely Whiplash stays put.
Then just divorce her.
$180k? He musta had like, gold up the ass or something!
Was he making a payment to Cam Newton?
$180K is about 138 1 oz coins. Just for reference purposes.
$180K of Gold in His Rectum
Nice album name.
After 16 years this question is FINALLY answered.
I want to say it's a perfect headline, but I think Daily Mail could improve it!
What?!? All at once? That's ~90 oz!
I peg it at closer to 129-130 ounces. Even if you're saying regula ounces and not troy ounces, should still be 118 ounces, not 90. Assuming per ounce price of $1,390 because coins tend to sell at a premium over the market spot price.

AuCH!
Swiss gold?
Surprised Ed didn't include this Ross Douthat column which is causing some angst:
Clinton's Samantha Bee Problem
Of the whole lot of leftist bootlickers masquerading as comedians, I find Samantha Bee to be the most annoying. She exudes a stench of smugness that won't go away for days after you watch her.
Then don't watch her.
I don't (no TV), except when my colleagues play her annoying clips at lunch.
He got you good!
Sometimes there are commercials for her show during shows that aren't awful.
The clips of Bee I've seen are short enough to be played at lunch to elicit laughs. That's also a factor.
I managed to avoid John Oliver's anti-charter school rant thankfully.
I am unable to stomach her commercials.
I could not imagine watching her show.
I haven't voluntarily watched late night talk, other than the occasional CoCo and Letterman's sign-off, in years.
Seriously, fuck those people.
From this interesting article about Conan:
That was a good article, Crusty. I can't stand any other late night douchebag, but I like Conan. I guess I am getting old.
These are the people that create fascists.
Right on cue, she responded, "It's so good to know that we're the problem and not racism."
Damn, she used to be funny on The Daily Show. More than I can say for Larry Wilmore.
No she didn't. She sucked big time on the Daily Show. The only funny woman on the Daily Show was Kristen Schaal.
way back in the Craig Kilborn Daily Show, Beth Littlefield was pretty funny
Kilborn : Daily Show as Connery : James Bond
Stewart is the Roger Moore of the Daily Show.
Apparently we are the only two who think so. Kilborn was just funny with a left bent.
Stewart was funny but covered in smug sauce that eventually swallowed the whole thing. It became dogmatic left where every punchline was just a smug smirk to the camera about how dumb and evil republicans are.
Damn, she used to be funny on The Daily Show.
When was this?
Maybe I was exaggerating a tad... still better than Wilmore.
I agree wholeheartedly. She is emotionally repulsive.
Absolutely. At least, to most people.
It is truly amazing how smug yet stupid she can be.
*cough*john oliver*cough*
forgot the quote: liberal "explanatory journalists" with laugh lines.
TBS has a Samantha Bee problem. Who decided that smug, tragically unfunny and grating made for a good TV host? The woman has absolutely no redeeming qualities as a comedian or TV host. She is not even good looking. I don't know a single person, regardless of their political views, who doesn't loath those commercials that TBS runs all of the time.
I'm surprised she didn't win an Emmy like John Oliver did.
I mean, fuck. Really?
It is a pleasure to agree with you for once, John.
She is not even good looking
Agree to disagree.
TBS is good for Conan skits.
Conan is actually pretty funny. I like him. But fuck she is annoying.
Poor Conan just kind of goes through the motions these days. I haven't watched his show in a while, but if I catch a few minutes it all seems so sad, like they don't really care that much. I don't blame him.
Honestly, I don't watch his show. But from what I have seen of him in the past, he always seemed okay. Maybe he is mailing it now. IF so, that is a shame.
If you read the article, Douthat may have explained the Rise of Trump better than any other political observer I've ever read. Ever.
Yeah, and as a Useful Anti-Trump Conservative Lite he is taking a lot of flack on social media for wandering off the reservation with his insights.
I liked this random tweet in a discussion of the article, for its point as well as its turn-of-phrase:
I did. And he makes some good points but ultimately misses it. He thinks that if the Republicans had jsut nominated someone he finds acceptable, they would be winning big. What he doesn't get is that anyone acceptable to him is necessarily going to suck up to the prog culture and lose the appeal Trump has.
Dohat thinks that he is somehow different from the rest of the establishment douche bags. No Ross, you are the same. People hate you just as much or more. He can't quite seem to grasp how much people hate the entire media and pundit class left and right.
I disagree that was his central point. His central point was Democrats, through their leftward, hard-progressive swing have alienated huge segments of the 300+ million Americans with their suffocating smug douchbaggery, and Americans are flailing around for something-- anything to grasp on to to fucking make it stoooooooooop. He merely made a side comment that Trump is so awful in his rhetoric that he won't have the same success that Reagan had in turning the tide. Ie, Trump's negatives are high enough that it may not provide enough sting to Democrats' painful progressivism.
Had Trump been "acceptable" he never would have gotten the nomination. What got him the nomination was being outrageous and incurring the ire of people like Dohat. Now the question is can he moderate and do what is necessary to get the rest of the country to take a chance on him. He seems to be doing that and that is reflected in the polls.
At the same time, outside the liberal tent, the feeling of being suffocated by the left's cultural dominance is turning voting Republican into an act of cultural rebellion ? which may be one reason the Obama years, so good for liberalism in the culture, have seen sharp G.O.P. gains at every level of the country's government.
Someone here made an excellent comment about just wanting to watch a sports game, and 'tap out' from the daily news, and having the progressive agenda shoved in their face at every turn-- and opined that for many Americans just wanting to 'tap out', they take on a defensive stance and start clamoring for whatever the opposite of all this is.
I keep running across this theme again and again, and I think it nicely sums up and explains the Rise Of Trump. I know people who are going to vote for Trump, and these people normally would hate everything Trump represents if Trump were held in a vacuum. But they're so fucking sick of the suffocating progressive-initiated culture war shit-- where just eating a bowl of cereal in the morning is a personal commentary on transgender politics and the patriarchy, their vote represents a kind of reactionary protest. And honestly, while I don't agree, at least I understand.
Progs aren't helping themselves by insisting it will be their doom if Trump wins. Progs losing power sounds really really appealing to most people.
I think what has really hurt them is that things got even nastier under Obama. A lot of people voted for Obama in 2008 in the sincere belief that doing so would put a stop to a lot of the nastiness that went on in politics during the Bush years. There was a feeling that "Jesus give the progs what they want and maybe they will shut up and the country can have some peace". Instead, the progs went from pissed off losers to pissed off sore winners. The country has found out first hand that there is no appeasing or winning with the Prog. They will forever in the words of the former resident of this board Episiarch just "prog harder". I think that has made a lot of people ready to vote for Trump that might not otherwise have considered it.
I got into an argument with a Hillary-supporting cousin on facederp over the weekend.
After going through all the reasons why Clinton, Obama and Trump suck as human beings and as prospective government officials, he said he was relieved I understood why Trump was unacceptable.
Except, if you looked at the list of things, it was pretty clear that every fucking damn thing that was bad about Trump was true with Obama and Clinton, except, of course, that they had a track record of doing much worse shit!
If you think Trump University shows corruption, what about the Clinton foundation's blatant rip off of aid money intended for Haitians? What about the Clinton University?
If you think Trump's attitude towards muslims demosntrates a depraved sort of racism, what about the fucking Obama administration's use of "signature strikes"? Incidentally, I am still waiting for Obama supporters who remember the 80's to explain to me how CIA signature strikes differ from the actions of paramilitary death squads in El Salvador.
They claim that Trump is bellicose and likely to start a war. Wow! And Hillary's war of choice in Libya, illegal both under the tUN Treaty and the War Powers Act doesn't indicate belicosity?!? Under her watch, the U.S. almost came into a shooting war with Russia how many times over things that had no importance to U.S. national interests?!?
I could go on... I cannot understand why people who fear Trump aren't shitting their pants over Clinton.
Under her watch, the U.S. almost came into a shooting war with Russia how many times over things that had no importance to U.S. national interests?!?
We're not quite done almost coming into shooting wars just yet. I wonder if we're not there within few more errant bomb strikes.
"I voted for Obama and all I got was this lousy race war."
What happened to Epi, anyway? He get tired of the political crap here?
HE WAS THE POLITICAL CRAP HERE!11!!
Nah, I hear tell he got a job working for the Clinton campaign. He's deleting emails or something.
Why did I ever deign to read the NYT comments section?
I feel like I just got a lifetime dose of Vitamin Derp.
You've probably exceeded your daily safe dose.
Never read the NYT comments. Never do that.
Yeah, the comments section pretty well bolsters the points made in the column.
Not gonna lie, I had to look up Samantha Bee. Is this what older people watch these days?
I think it's one of the handrails former Daily Show viewers are flailing to grab hold of. Any port in a storm, so to speak.
Ah! So, you know her husband?
I suspect her audience skews young.
"We're so great, we're our own problem!" And these people call Trump an egomaniac.
Douthat's response to the angst:
That was hilarious. Andy Richter had a fucking Twitter-stroke about it.
With Clinton basically going into hiding, Trump has pretty much decided to run against the media (who, in fairness, could reasonably be considered Clinton surrogates). I think that explains his rising success as much as anything Clinton herself has done.
London's London [sic] mayor, met with his counterpart in the Big Apple, far-left Mayor Bill de Blasio, and explained that urban dwellers should simply get used to jihadist rampages. Terror attacks are "part and parcel of life in a big city," Khan [said.]
"Bloody 'ell, God willing, what ya gonna do?"
The mayor of London is on Trump's campaign team?
The Brits have lost their balls at a bad time.
We, OTOH, have nothing to fear but shaved foreheads.
Keep calm and be cowards.
"Keep calm and be cowards."
That is the message not only from Islam in general but from the left here in the west. If they keep pushing, which they will, they are going to learn a hard lesson.
Look at who they elected for mayor of London. Though to be fair, I wouldn't consider most of his support base to be Brits.
First, within the liberal tent, they have dramatically raised expectations for just how far left our politics can move, while insulating many liberals from the harsh realities of political disagreement in a sprawling, 300-plus million person republic.
Jesus this article is well-written. Nice link, man.
Would Messers Khan and de Blasio also say to Muslims that they have to deal with occasional murder or mosque bombing for religious reason? Or a lynching here and there?
Good question.
Sounds to me like Khan and deBlasio need to deal with a lynching.

Shit, wrong subthread... this is from the link from FLYE above.
Yep. I've seen the Skittles, um, coverage produce just this effect.
Did I hear correctly that the NFLs ratings are down 15%? The highest rated television, NFL games, are taking a huge dive in the ratings because the proggies touched them. Like Obumbles killing off businesses by endorsing them, the proggies have the kiss of death.
I would love to see some polling on this. Anecdotally it sure seems like the culture wars reaching the NFL has turned off a sizable portion of the audience who just wants to watch some damn football without hearing about anthems or Lady Gaga or which bathroom people use in North Carolina.
Either that or Red Zone has made us unable to watch only one game at a time...
Red Zone overloads my ADD.
That makes him different from Nick Gillespie exactly how, again?
A divided Federal Reserve announced it would not raise interest rates at the moment.
SHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKKKKEEEE!!!!
It's a question that's been floating around since way before Bernie was mathemagically eliminated from the race but I've never heard it adequately answered. Want to take a shot?
Explain why I should vote for Clinton without mentioning Trump.
Is there a non-Trump alluding in any way case for Clinton? Anyone here want to suppress their gag reflex to make one?
She's experienced, she's presidential, she's never been in the private sector. She would make the perfect modern president.
Another commenter alerted me to this
Perfect. I love the sneering tone of the site.
The Foundation wasn't going to fund itself.
So much this.
As Fiorina said, that's an activity, not an accomplishment.
Yep. I found that via a prog-blog that I'm subscribed to. The blogger is a heckava fiction writer and has great advice. But when it comes to politics he's a left-wing pod-person*. Got another update today that is just bizarre.
*stipulates that there are many right-wing pod-persons.
It's her turn
A boat carrying 600 migrants capsized off the coast of Egypt.
How many migrants will it take to capsize America?
The continental US is approx. 15000x the size of Guam, so you do the math.
You know who else majored in criminal justice?
The entire Reason commentariat?
Nobody with an actual JD.
Judge Dredd?
Given their 'hands up' track record, it's starting to smell like the boy who cried something, something.
It doesn't mean, of course, there isn't a problem but it's probably not a good idea anymore to use less than credible people to bring awareness to police abuse.
The guy I have a lot of sympathy for is Eric Garner. He's not brought up because:
1) He was killed by a choke hold, not by a gun.
2) He was killed during the enforcement of progressive policies.
Garner and Rice have my sympathies.
Why, it's almost as if we have to treat this on a....case by case basis!
That's ridiculous, they're both black. So they're all the same case.
Explain why I should vote for Clinton without mentioning Trump.
Qualifications, duh. It's self-explanatory.
You know who else was an employee of a private security company?
Robocop?
Let me make it real clear for you - he doesn't have a name. He's got a program. He's *product*.
Captain Miller?
Jill Stein's bodyguards?
Paul Blart?
Arnold Schwarzenegger (original Predator)
HOT TAKE ALERT
If You Vote For Trump, Then Screw You
YOU are the people willing to overlook the fact that Trump is an unqualified, ignorant sociopath because DURRRR HILLARY IS BAD TOO DURRRR.
You know what? No, she's not. She's fine. I lived through one Clinton, and I can live through another. My reasons for hating Trump are better than your reasons for hating Hillary. Show me all the arguments against her you like. You guys don't give a shit about facts and research when it comes to Trump, so I'm not gonna give a shit about whatever clumsy meme you cook up to explain why she did Benghazi. Nope. Sorry. Fuck your arguments, and fuck you. Trump has shown no respect for anyone, so I don't see why you deserve any either.
Was there supposed to be an argument in there?
Jill Stein told me to tell you to stop trying to undermine the Reason Foundation with your evil plot to do stuff and whatnot.
Jill Stein said 'Popehat'. That was all I could make out.
Tell us more of the voices in your head.
Nope, in fact the writer specifically says they don't care about facts, research, or any argument you might make.
Awfully wordy for such a simple disclaimer of imbecility.
The writer thinks that expressing their feelings is an argument. Pinkos positions are based on emotion. Emotions are inherently irrational. So, no, there is no argument there.
Aside from relieving the pangs of having verbal diarrhea I am not sure what the purpose of that screed was. Did they think they were going to convince anyone to vote Cankles? It was just a lot of words saying 'fuck you'.
I think there should be a pithy statement, like Betteridge's Law of Headlines, on the subject of "letters to X" or "appeals to X" or "a word for X", something like "whenever somebody says they're writing a letter to you, but publishing it for all to see, they have no intention of actually convincing you and are really just talking to people who already agree with them."
True. Vote for Hillary if you must, then for principled conservatives downballot.
Jill Stein wonders who the Libertarians are this time around.
Magary used to be hilarious when he started KSK. Then he took over Deadspin and was still funny for a while, then the Gawker mentality sunk in and he stopped being funny. Except for Why Your Team Sucks, that's still funny.
The funbag can still be amusing, but yeah, he's fallen down the Gawker derp hole.
He's pretty-much a one trick pony and the trick is played out. Was hilarious for a while, now it's just tedious.
Why didn't that guy just jerk off and cum on his keyboard instead of writing that article. It would have been no less self indulgent and pointless than what he did, probably would have been more fun doing, and at least he would have had a little something to show for his efforts.
That's a really weird way to turn on sticky keys.
Hah....I knew it was Magary before I even clicked. He really needs new material. This reads EXACTLY like his "Why Your Team Sucks" rants at Deadspin, which themselves have grown tired and much less funny than they used to be. Every one of them, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them contains a long diatribe about how racist X city and the fans of X team are. Doesn't matter the city - San Francisco, Minneapolis, Chicago, NY, Seattle - every single one of them is completely overrun with sheet-wearing rednecks.
It's become a pathology with the mainstream of white media. Every fucking thing they write about ultimately stems from racism. It's literally at the root of everything wrong with absolutely everything, and almost everything they write contains at least one reference to how bad racism is and how horrible white people are.
I am confused. Did global warming cause racism, or racism caused global warming? They cant both be the cause of everything.
Well that is certainly a well reasoned argument that has convinced me to vote for her royal highness instead of making me want to sucker punch the author.
But I so desperately want to be liked by a GQ editor!
You know what? No, she's not.
Damn. You got me.
All of the things he accuses Trump of Cankles has done x1000 yet he is unconvinced by arguments against Cankles. Self-awareness is not a pinkos strongest characteristic.
the wrong side of history.
I'm getting real tired of that phrase.
NASA has called a press conference on Monday when the space agency will announce a breakthrough on the planet Europa.
On *Europa*? I'll bet that is one sparsely-attended press conference.
""ITS BEING ATTACKED BY MOOSLEMS"
When Muslims do it, it's called "The Expansion of Islam, The Spread of Islam, or the Rise of Islam". When others do it, it's called a crusade or an invasion.
Goddamit, you people, which part of "except Europa" did you not understand?!
I've already seen the Europa Report. It does not end well.
An excellent indie movie.
They mean moon Europa, surely.
Don't know about the author of the article, but the headline writer is lacking in astronomical literacy.
Something about a monolith...
Holy shit I hate the word "boffins."
http://www.dailywire.com/news/9308/lo.....el-qazvini
London Mayor "hey you dirty infidels are just going to have to get used to having the risk of being randomly murdered by a Muslim. It is just one of the quirky fun things about big city life."
Muslims have rights to. Jihad is one of them.
I like how his name is "Muslim Mayor" and not his actual name.
Oh it's the daily wire, they're the other side of the crazy.
The mayor's an idiot from everything I've heard about him, so I wouldn't be surprised if he said this.
But every single news outlet reporting this has shopped the quote down to just
"part and parcel of life in a big city"
Anyone have the full thing for context?? Because half a sentence just isn't doing it for me.
My favorite part of Top Gun is when Tom Cruise goes over to Kelly McGillis' house for a first date and asks her if he can take a shower.
For years I used this "move". although instead of taking a shower, I'd just take a dump.
I hope it wasn't like this.
Whoa! The dump is more alpha than the shower. Tip of the cap to you, sir.
Something like this?
Did you wipe your ass with the hand towel?
That is ALPHA.
No, but i do take a very long time doing it.... then i brush my teeth with her toothbrush, humming "My Cherie Amor" very loudly.
Stop kidding us Crusty, we know you love the volleyball seen the best.
Similar to the move the bad guy uses in Ghost to try to hit on Demi Moore by "accidentally" spilling coffee on his white shirt and of course needing to take it off to clean it.
You guys don't give a shit about facts and research when it comes to Trump
"Facts" and "research" like they used to portray Romney as some sort of anarchist who was going to eliminate the EPA, and OSHA, and dog knows what other Vital Government Agencies? Sorry, not listening.
Say hi to the wolf for me.
Safe spaces for trolls now!!!!
Jill Stein peeks out from beneath her mushroom.
Reason must abolish safe spaces for trolls now!!!
Jill Stein promises to boycott Reason until all her demands are met. Including the appointment of a minority liaison to handle complaints of discrimination. Jill Stein says Trump changes his mind too.
Hmm, there was someone else here a couple days ago pretending to speak for Jill Stein.
Congratulations on the alt-text, Krayewski. You're officially a nerd.

Reason should do a "The Agile Cyborg Audiobooks" podcast. I'd donate for that.
"As read by Ken Nordine"
Fuck yeah
The Conqueror Worm
I see in the promoted stories that "Cute Asian babes want older men". Finally some happy (ending) news.
Hey, 40% of Japanese women are virgins, so if Americans just had a little more fucking initiative...
What's this about Reason now on iTunes. I've been downloading Reason on iTunes for about 5 years.
Maybe it was a book about guns? Would not be surprising that the cops couldn't identify a book.
I don't get it. Progs could all decide to vote for Johnson and then they would have everything they claim to want, without having to vote for a war mongering felon.
It is almost as if they are insincere.
Johnson may be a squish, but even he can't match Hillary on "free college" and "abortion as a constitutional right which must be subsidized."
in the prog actor ad on another thread here, they never actually say vote for Hillary, they just beg people to not vote for Trump.
Its almost as if they're more interested in tribal affiliation than actual policy.
"The police chief in Charlotte claims Keith Lamont Scott exited his car holding a gun, not a book"
We all know words can kill!
