...former president George H.W. Bush is planning to vote for Hillary Clinton.
#Senile #Sad!
Hello.
Obama: Always keep in mind, before we rush to judgment, that these terrible acts by people who are not of any faith, The Crooooosades
BOOOOSH!
shriek, Tony and amsoc's heads just exploded
Fuck George Bush and every other R that is supporting that evil witch. They don't give a shit about the country, their only concern is keeping the power structure of their useless party intact.
their only concern is keeping the power structure of their useless party intact.
Exactly.
They'll do anything but vote for the Libertarian nominee, who would be a 1000x better President than her.
Absolutely. Whatever vestigial attachment I had to the GOP has been destroyed by this election, so I thank them for that.
What destroyed my vestigial attachment to the GOP was the nomination of John "The First Amendment is less important than campaign finance reform" McCain, back in 2008. But I'll most likely hold my nose and vote for Trump, partly as a poke in the eye to both the GOP and Dem branches of the establishment, partly on the grounds of "Vote for the toxic buffoon. It's important," and partly because I hold candidates who claim to be libertarians to a higher standard - they have to do a credible job of at least pretending to be libertarians, and Gary Johnson fails that test.
Elder bush's vote will have no impact on the outcome, but having his pro-hillary sentiment aired in public will irritate millions, increasing trump's probability of winning.
Which is exactly what I would expect of a Bush. They're a lot more crafty than people give them credit for. Well, except for Jeb. That poor bastard.
Spot on Suthenboy
What actions would indicate that they give a shit about the country?
The elder Bush has always been a creature of the political class. Instead of not supporting anyone, he has to endorse the politically well connected crook.
even though he's on death's doorstep and it doesn't matter one bit
So what you're saying is he's starting voting D with one foot in the grave instead of the usual two?
234) I was listening to Holst's Planets the other day, showing my children how John Williams borrowed (i.e. ripped off) the musical themes for the soundtrack to Star Wars. I was surprised how into the music they were once they understood it had a connection to something they already liked, plus they wanted to hear how they music changed for each new heavenly body. Maybe I should next try Hidden Fortress next. I think maybe what makes Star Wars so popular is it mashes up these older influences and makes it easy to digest, like a casserole.
Similarly, Harry Potter takes all the fun, easy elements from LOTR (itself a mash-up of old Norse mythology and medieval romances) and English boarding room novels like Tom Brown's Schooldays and makes it more accessible.
As an adult, I look down on these mixed-up, derived entertainments, preferring the older, purer, more difficult originals. But is there more to SW and HP than making the older stuff easier to digest? Is there inherent value or originality in the way they mix it?
I mean, I don't look down on the early rock musicians for taking the old blues, country, and gospel and fusing it?they obviously created something new. Or early rappers for sampling the break-beats from disco songs and putting party-ready rhymes over them. Am I being snobbish with SW, HP, the Matrix, etc. for doing the same thing? Or is there a line between the clearly derivative and art that creates something out of original from stuff it finds lying around?
Nothing is original any longer. Everything is an adaptation of tropes that have existed since forever. But that's fine, to me.
Every thief is a poet. Made that up myself.
*Every gaze is narrowed*
Every sperm is sacred...?
Very little has ever been original. Pretty much all art works because it refers to things that came before. Really original and avant garde stuff usually seems like noise or a mess to most people because there is no recognizable reference to tradition.
There are very few real neophiles in the world. Most people enjoy things and find beauty in them because there is something comfortable and familiar in them.
That's a long-winded, if not coy way to spark a debate about Rush versus Deep Dish, JATNAS.
Pro-Rush, Pro-Deep Dish.
I mean, deep dish isnt necessarily my favorite, but it is a fine genre of pizza.
Also, 3 best* novels of 20th century America, in alphabetical order: Atlas Shrugged, Dune, Sometimes a Great Notion.
*for some use of this word
Deep dish tastes good, but it's not pizza. It's a casserole. Or hot dish, whatever the fly-overs call it.
Crust, check.
Tomato based sauce, check.
Cheese, check.
Pizza type topping, check.
All criteria met, it is pizza.
Robc is correct!
About the novels?
Cause that was the part I was trying to troll with.
Robc is correct about deep dish PIZZA!
Crust, check.
Tomato based sauce, check.
Cheese, check.
Pizza type topping, check.
Baked in a deep pan instead of on a flat crust, BZZZZZT!
Not pizza.
Quichza.
Catch-22, Dune, Illuminatus!
Those three I always come back to, anyway.
And I'm with you on big-tent pizza. I do think pizza without red sauce is a real thing. But not with ranch dressing. I quite like a thin crust with garlic and olive oil topped with blobs of ricotta and mozzarella.
And let's not even get into the terribleness of pizza in Italy.
Possibly the worst pizza I ever had was in Rome.
What is wrong with you people
To be fair, it was a street vendor on the wrong side of the tracks in Rome.
It was objectively awful, as in possibly not even food.
Pizza is American.
Ah, I see you endorsing deep dish above, so i already know your tastes are all objectively horrible.
*smug*
I am a big tent pizzaist.
Deep Dish may be the Gary Johnson of pizza, but that is good enough for me.
Deep Dish may be the Gary Johnson of pizza
A+ trolling
+ Aleppo peppers
Deep Dish isn't the Gary Johnson of pizza.
It's the Hillary of pizza--both are from Chicago.
CPK is the Gary Johnson of pizza
At an American Domino's?
Agreed, but mine was on the tourist trail between the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon.
Spanish steps? Pantheon? Where were you? Spain or Greece? Cause it doesn't sound like Italy to me.
The best gelato I ever had was just around the corner from the Pantheon.
So basically, you have no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
It didn't have bacon or frozen/thawed bell peppers.
Pizza was invented in NYC, why would anyone expect it to be good in Italy?
Try Naples.
NYC. Jesus, those fucking people are worse than the Russians, who claim to have invented everything.
Nah, the stuff from Naples is just a cracker with a salad on top.
Speaking of Russia, i had the worst pizza ever in Moscow in 1996. It was basically a bagel with tomatoes, onions, and zuchini on top. Something was apparently lost in translation there.
It was basically a bagel with tomatoes, onions, and zuchini on top.
That is definitively not-Pizza. That is the Hillary Clinton of Pizza.
That is the Hillary Clinton of Pizza.
It looks better than it tastes?
[vomits blood]
Crusty is ably planting thoughts capable of causing blindness.
Worst pizza I ever had was in Ireland. I don't know what the fuck I was thinking.
Invented abroad, perfected in pistol wavin' New Haven.
You spelled "nostalgic Mystic, Connecticut" wrong.
Bah-humbug. Anybody who has participated in an 8th grade class trip knows that the entirety of Mystic, Connecticut is an old timey ship and supporting museum.
I've had Mystic pizza. NY/NJ is better.
I've had Mystic pizza. NY/NJ is better.
Why not both?
That's my favorite pre-game spot for Devils games. Bonus: when you order a pitcher of beer, they give it to you after they fill the requisite pint glasses.
Which reminds me of the worst movie ever made.
Which reminds me of the worst movie ever made.
Girl Interrupted?
Squirrel Uninterrupted.
But no, Mystic Pizza was soooo much worse.
Which reminds me of the worst movie ever made.
Girl Interrupted?
I've never had a good pizza experience in Italy unlike pretty much every other civilized place I've visited. But mainly I was just trying to send Rufus into a blind rage. Though it warms my heart to know that a Old Man Who Rapes Children disagrees.
The little bitch consented!
I know, I saw what she was wearing.
A diaper?!?
There is a place in town that has wood fired neopolitan pizzas and they are the best pizza I have ever eaten.
After that, I would take NYC/Brooklyn Style pizza.
I think it was Mark Twain who said, "There are only two ways to write. You can either tell an old story in a new way, or you can tell a new story in an old way."
Perhaps it helps to have some smack of the familiar. The truly original and fresh generally seems bizarre until the senses adjust to the possibilities.
I'm still never going to finish reading Eragon. Too far, by god.
Pft. What does he know? Twain never saw porn plots.
My son has that Eragon book. I've seen it lying around the house. It looks like pretty generic fantasy to me...is it not actually so?
No, ha. Ha ha. My bad, let me clarify. Though I'm willing to make a defense of the derivative and tropes, there are limits. And Paolini didn't merely cross the line, he burnt the line in effigy and took a piss in the smoking ashes. Utterly awful.
To be fair, he was fifteen when he wrote it. What fifteen-year-old has an original idea about anything?
I've been reading Arabian Nights just before bedtime. Nothing written now that wasn't part of Arabian Nights. Same thing with the Odyssey. It's good, just get past all the greek names and you've got great stories.
JATNAS, if you want original stuff you have to go sit in the pasture and listen to the shepards play their flutes.
So if you want original stuff, you have to appropriate Peruvian culture? No, thank you.
Yes.
My favorite is Uranus.
Uranus is fun. You can actually kind of hear the magician casting spells in the music.
Now THAT is a euphemism.
Thank God nobody is my office right now because I'm laughing like a lunatic over that.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
He's just waving his wand.
I just like how the bass drum makes my testicles jiggle.
Pop culture continuously recycles previous art, and there is nothing wrong with that. Shakespeare's plays are enduring because he fixed those stories in print form and told them in an extremely engaging fashion. Ultimately, if you want to go back to the true originals you'll have to teach your kids ancient greek so they can read Homer, but it is likely that he, like Shakespeare, simply took stories which had been part of the oral tradition for centuries, if not millenia, and committed them to paper.
In college we had to read the Tragic History of Romeus and Juliet, a play from about 20 years before that Shakespeare "used as a source." It's the exact same story--Shakespeare hardly changed any of the plot--yet it's awful to read, boring dialogue and the timing is off so the emotional beats don't hit. It's obvious why Shakespeare's version was so much more popular, and is the one we remember today.
Have you ever heard Isao Tomita's synthesizer version of The Planets? I'm not normally a fan of synth music, but he rocked that shiznat.
Not familiar with that one. It doesn't belong in the same pile as "A Fifth of Beethoven?"
No, it was an RCA Red Seal issue - that was RCA's "serious music" label.
Good, but Forbidden Planet's soundtrack is better.
Literary cultural appropriation. It must all be destroyed.
Your older, "purer", stuff is just mashups of even older "purer" stuff. That's the way it has always been. It's the way culture grows.
Snorts and looks up from iPhone derisively
"Well actshually, that's cultural appropriation."

Check out Al Bowlly's 1932 hit 'My Woman', which inspired White Town's 'Your Woman' and very obviously inspired 'The Imperial March' by John Williams.
Says a Kennedy, therefore true.
Was this reported by Chris Cuomo?
The Commission on Presidential Debates "may have excluded us from the first debate, but we can still get on the stage in October."
He's got a plan involving a roof bomb and a parachute.
He can always show up drunk at their house and cry because they don't love him.
Or boil their rabbits.
Just to show his deep and irrational commitment to them.
+1 Fan Man??
More like Soy Bomb, probably.
Gary Johnson: The Commission on Presidential Debates "may have excluded us from the first debate, but we can still get on the stage in October."
He's going to bum rush the show.
Honestly, doing that and getting arrested for it might bring him more votes than actually being on the stage would.
As much as I'd enjoy seeing that, JB, it would detract from the responsible adult image which he is trying to project.
Considering his opponents...
So he should also use his battlecry (the only time the MSM pays any attention to him).
ALLEPOOOOOO!
They should bring him in as a special guest moderator, where he can ask Trump and Clinton Aleppo trivia questions.
The dude's haircut and eyeballs already distract from that responsible adult image.
Jill has already tried that strategy. Having a mere warrant for her arrest hasn't done much for her.
Maybe putting the cuffs on her will start a trend
The United Nations is suspending its aid operations in Syria after after the bombing of a U.N. aid convoy and warehouse in Aleppo.
Where?
Ouch.
What's a "Leppo"?
The latest slur against people with Hansen's disease.
Hansen's disease? At the rate your flu is increasing you'll have a temp of 156 degrees within 20 years.
[golf clap]
A leopard-hippo?
MY GOD THIS ANIMAL MUST BE MAGICAL!
That would be AWESOME!
Depends... is it a 2 ton spotted mass that ambushes from a tree, or a slimy cat that knocks over boats and drowns people?
Either version would fuck up a lot of crocodile, though.
*prolonged applause*
What we know so far about bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami.
We know we must import at least 100,000 more Muslim immigrants and refugees. Duh!
This is just another front in Obama's "War of Narratives" against ISIS.
"War of on Narratives"
Clown Facebook post, warnings put more Alabama schools on lockdown
back in my day it was vans, puppies, and candy...
I found that quite funny for some reason.
Just because I abandoned that character doesn't mean you can steal it.
See, I took it to mean he was dodging prowlers and deviants at every street corner.
Geez, it used to be the class clown would just get a detention every once in a while and nobody worried about it.
I find it strange that we spend so much effort going after terrorists yet we allow Clown Schools to exist?
Hey, Kids, want a day off from school? Want to fuck with the adults? Call-in a clown sighting.
Just wait until the crusty jugglers show up.
Operator: 911.
Kid: I spotted a clown.
Operator: Where?
Kid: In the kitchen.
Operator: Do you know this person?
Kid: Yes. My mother. And the clown served me soggy cereal.
That's a clown question, bro.
We are Vans! Puppies! & Candy! and we are here to abduct rock you!
Authorities in France have made eight new arrests in connection with the truck attack that killed 86 people at a Bastille Day celebration in Nice.
A lot of people took that one dude's marital problems pretty hard.
Bros before hos, dude.
Has it been reclassified as "workplace violence" yet?
I doubt it will ever shed the "domestic violence turned into road rage" label.

Fun fact: During the Entebbe airport raid, Israeli planes refueled in Kenya. Kenya also helped Israel with intelligence gathering.

Ha!! Boko Haram has now just been downgraded to an "ISIS affiliate".

This falls under "no shit, Sherlock". But can you prove it?

Obama claims sexism is the reason Hillary Clinton isn't doing well
He's always very disappointed in us.
Hillary's first act as president will be to impeach the People and appoint a new one.
+1 Lester del Rey.
Indeed.
A friend just posted a clip of some speech he gave at the congressional black caucus foundation.
He didn't quite say "You goddamn niggers better do as I say" but it was close.
where has that guy been?
I haven't seen that much emotion from him since he was running for his own election.
Let's face it. We've had almost 8 years and we let him down.
"This should not be a close election but it will be, and the reason it will be is not because of Hillary's flaws."
I find myself agreeing with Barack here: Because of the "flaws" of his administration she is still in the race.
Against Obama: "Racist!"
Against Hillary: "Sexist!"
Keep repeating those words, and those words will lose their meaning and power.
And when the real racists and sexists start doing stuff, people won't pay attention. It's like the boy who cried wolf.
It's like the boy who stuck his finger in the Dyke.
I'll be in my bunk.
"It's like the boy who stuck his finger in the Dyke."
Now there's a kid who definitely got bitch slapped
So, which of these previous women candidates should the American people have elected to disprove their sexism?
Victoria Woodhull (free-love advocate, stockbroker, member of the Commie First International)
Lenora Fulani of the New Alliance Party (left-wing weirdo)
Cynthia McKinney of the Green party (another left-wing weirdo)
Roseanne Barr of the Peace and Freedom Party?
Margaret Chase Smith?
Carol Moseley Braun?
Or maybe Ellen McCormack of the Right to Life Party - only sexism can account for *her* loss!
Tonie Nathan.
First woman and first jew to receive an EC vote.
I was not aware of the latter until now.
Women tend to be leftists. There's a reason that country's to lurch to the left within a short span of time after women gain the right to vote.
You're referring to Coolidge becoming Vice President in 1920 and President in 1924?
It takes more time than that. You act like I'm saying some controversial thing. Look it up, women skew left. Every single western country where women got the right to vote, a welfare state forms within twenty years.
Correlation, not causation. The suffrage movement was part of the progressive movement (even though women were trying to get the right to vote since before then). It was one of the reforms, not the cause of reforms.
The welfare state is not a 'reform'. The addition of women into the electorate strengthened the ranks of the left considerably, driving politics to the left of where it had been up to that point. Not much different than a bunch of Californians moving to Texas, unsurprisingly politics get more left friendly, little by little and making a noticeable difference after some time.
Oh, and Britain had a huge welfare state well before women got the vote.
As did Prussia.
Citation needed.
Don't forget their first big policy victory - alcohol prohibition.
Hey, Victoria Woodhull got kicked out of the First International for "bourgeois tendencies" because of her belief in free love (by which she meant love/marriage/divorce free from government interference).
I'm not sure that she always waited for marriage...her sister sure didn't.
(I don't know if she lived on a hill, though)
+1 Tube Steak Boogie
So Obama is calling the Democrats circa 2008, a bunch of misogynistic woman haters.
Even better, he called Hillary's *supporters* bitter gun-and-religion clingers.
So when he was running against her, she didn't do well because of his latent sexism?
"and the reason it will be is not because of Hillary's flaws"
He just slipped up and admitted Hillary has flaws.
'....it will be is not because of Hillary's flaws.'
Nice backhander there.
repeatedly...
Ivanka Trump meets with Paul Ryan in New York
What are the odds she pulled a Bunny Lebowski?
"I will suck your c0ck for an endorsement. Mitch McConnell can't watch, or it'll be cost him extra campaigning."
I'll be in my bunk.
It's good to be the Speaker.
Ivanka Trump has emerged as one of her father's most trusted advisers and confidantes, including pushing him just last week to roll out a new package for child care.
Wonder what the odds are that she'll be Hillary without all the mysterious deaths.
I've been suspecting that this has been part of the plan from the beginning. It makes sense from the jump all the Trump surrogates have been talking her up, even if Trump were to lose he's essentially made a ton of political connections in the Republican party and would have a better idea on how to run a successful campaign. Trump's campaign is both a vanity/legacy project that goes hand and hand as trial balloon/springboard to get his kid's into politics, I think they want to be the modern day Kennedys.
I think they want to be the modern day Kennedys.
They already have the money for it, now Don Jr. just needs to drunkenly launch his car into a river with his mistress in tow and the circle will be complete.
That's a given which one is going to be the reformed addict that goes on a crusade to rid the planet of their vices? I'm betting Tiffany. I don't have any idea which one is going to be assassinated or die in a plane crash.
If they keep gumming up the Clinton Coronation, I'm betting there will be an assassination.
I'll concur that Tiffany has trainwreck written all over her, but that's not surprising given she's the lone offspring of his second wife; we'll have to see how Barron turns out, but the older kids appear to be fairly well-adjusted.
If they wanted the sort of political dynasty that can kill women with maximum cowardice and minimum accountability, they should have founded their dynasty in the Democratic party.
That's the conclusion that I've drawn as well.
Neoconservatives and progressives are more similar than they are different.
They both like Trotsky?
"Read my lips. I will not vote for Donald Trump."
- George H.W. Bush
If true, it's another good indication of how this election cycle is signaling a political realignment towards globalists vs. nationalists rather than liberals vs. conservatives.
Globalists are almost universally some species of leftoid. Free traders, the real ones, don't favor a system of large international organizations managing the world's trade and they don't favor ceding sovereignty to unaccountable bureaucrats in foreign lands, at most they'll acquiesce to having their own unaccountable bureaucrats. So it's still a kind of "liberal v conservative" divide.

Blowing Up Boats Sets Indonesia's Scarce Fish Swimming Again
Liberal pundits are truly delusional. Per them Hillary has been unfairly castigated while trump has been coddled. I think see themselves as beacons of influence and it is starting to sink in as not being the case.
From fox news home page.
"Another liberal Times columnist, the Nobel Prize-winning Paul Krugman, asks: "Why are the media objectively pro-Trump?""
I think if you look purely at the minutes/word count devoted to Trump, it probably does outnumber what Hillary gets by quite a bit. That the vast majority of that air time/ink is negative might be over their heads.
Yea i agree Trump has more air time...but that goes against their claims of him being coddled. The person with LESS air time is the one coddled. And as you point out, most of Trumps press is negative
They know better, but leftists are nothing if not a bunch of lying cunts. DNC emails get leaked showing how the party apparatus was stacked in Hilary's favor, and for the vast majority of the media the story is "Russian Hackers Help Trump Campaign". You couldn't make them more biased for Hilary than they already are in this or any other conceivable universe.
Except that is an advantage to her as well, as she has anti-charisma. Her own campaign ads I have see are anti-Trump, not pro-Clinton.
Objectively? Did he really say that?
Krugman should stick his head in a toilet bowl, close the lid and talk to himself. He'll get a nice ego boost from the echoing.
Krugman? Isnt that the dude that suggested the govt stage a fake alien invasion to stimulate the economy? Yep, thats him. He is a stooge for the left that babbles incoherent blather to try and plant absurdities in people's heads and hope it grows.
"Why are the media objectively pro-Trump?"
Ya know... at least they're souring to the media too. I mean, sure, unlike the rest of us, the liberals are starting to loath the media elites for ~imaginary~ reasons, but hey. At least we can all be united across the board in a consensus that the media is biased shit.

In America, even the bums save us from terrorism. Obviously, De Blasio's plan for making more bums is a layer in his counter-terrorism strategy for NYC.
I got the impression that the homeless men were merely scavenging around dumpsters and found the backpack, assuming it was discarded, not actually stealing stuff.
I like to assume the best of Jew Jersey's homeless.
I love all the people fuming about the futility and ridiculousness of the Benghazi investigations who fully support a 4 years investigation into three days of what most drivers probably just thought was typical traffic on the GWB, and are convinced that Bridgegate is a more important issue than a terrorists attack that killed an ambassador.
Don't forget the people who want a government-funded witchunt of those they see as climate-change denialists.
Chris Christie is a big fat piece of shit, 'tis true. But it does amaze me that he goes to court for possibly making traffic inconvenient, on purpose. Whereas Hilary Clinton's state department selling guns to terrorists that got an ambassador killed, selling access to the state department and selling US uranium to Russia for personal gain. It's almost like her crimes are too big to prosecute because it make the whole government look bad.
Agreed 100%. I made a similar rant yesterday.

Milo is doing the world a great service. I don't understand how anyone who cares about freedom could not see that.
By drawing an incredible amount of attention?
Yes. And by telling these people to fuck off and drawing attention to exactly how they are. He is an agent provocateur. And those are needed sometimes. Why does that bother you? Do you like the people he trolls?
Yes. I like them.
By which you mean, "would."
Crusy is not nearly black enough for Milo's tastes.
It's the only explanation for criticizing Milo.
It must be since neither you nor Crusty can come up with another one. If there were any other good reasons, you would have given them. You just don't' out of kindness I guess.
Seriously. Fuck your feelings should be the subject of a home ec style class in High School. "Nobody gives a fuck how you feel once you leave high school. Maybe a spouse, sometimes. Fuck your feelings. And fuck everyone else's feelings. Act right, try to be socially accomodating, but don't ever not do something you feel is right because it might hurt someone else's feelings."
That would never pass muster in today's PC-infested public schools. However, there is a huge unfulfilled opportunity for liberty-lovers to create institutions which offer this sort of education. The practical problem is motivating people to listen.
This is pretty much what teachers and my parents basically explained to me throughout my life (though using fewer "fucks"). I don't understand how that message has gotten lost in recent years.
Especially when you look at the world and see how the self-appointed defenders of others' feelings are, at their core, only looking out for themselves and their own interests. Professing to care about others' feelings is just an effort to get and keep power. Look at pretty much all college administrators, politicians, and so on.
Yes. This is probably the other thing I would teach. If someone keeps talking about how you feel or how you should feel, consider if they have an interest in you feeling a certain way. Especially guilty.
I, I have to agree.
Go, Milo.
The lady started to protest Milo's speech as soon as he made a statement about the left failing to take a joke.
Thus helpfully proving his point.
I'm convinced these people aren't plants, they really can't help themselves. It's in the programming.

Deputies search for owner of 600-pound hog
Florida Hog Steals Police Car, Drives Through Strip Club; Claims He Was "Tryin'a Get Mines"
Winston's mom may not be the prettiest gal, but I object to her being so callously referred to as a "hog." For shame, sirs.
Are we sure it isn't just a random UF alumnus who got a little too drunk at a tailgate party?
I mean, every deputy in Alachua county probably knows how to handle a hog, a few have probably seduced one. This is a non-incident.
Face down on the ground! Squeal like a pig!
Clinton gave State Department appointments to 194 donors
just one big happy family
YEAH BUT TRUUUUMPPP HERPADERP!!!!
She straight-up sold the office of SOS, sold the state department. She didn't actually do the job - it was one unmitigated disaster after another while she half-assed it and sold the office for personal profit. She is just an out and out crook and doesnt do much to try and hide it. Yet, half of the country supports her. It's insane.
Well to do otherwise would be sexist and intolerant, you white, male, cis-hetero shitlord!
The other big question here should be, why the hell has the State Department gotten so bloated that it needs 511 advisory appointments?
so that somebody in the State Dept knows what a leppo is
So that donors can be rewarded.
It isn't even necessary to have any knowledge of the subject matter to get appointed an advisor as has been proven.
?Gary Johnson: The Commission on Presidential Debates "may have excluded us from the first debate, but we can still get on the stage in October."
Whatever. I didn't even want to be in the debates. It was totally mutual. In fact, I turned them down. They begged me to debate, but I can't be tied down like that.
::stifles sob::
Is Trump a Traitor?
By Hillary's logic the Germans and the Japanese wanted FDR to win the election rather than the isolationists.
Wow she is desperate
Consider: This may be our best evidence that they haven't, in fact, rigged the voting machines. So, everything isn't quite so corrupt that she could just take the election. We'll have to give it to her.
Bright side!
-.-
Oh, it could still be rigged, but they may be getting nervous about Trump gaining a lead that's outside the margin of fraud. To pull off fraud, it needs to be close.
Here is a crazy idea, I wonder if ISIS cares more about the fact that the US is bombing them today then whether or not Trump says something they don't like?
You racist asshole! You're just saying that because Obama is black!
Clinton used the occasion of the New York?area bombings to accuse Donald Trump of providing "aid and comfort" to ISIS.
Perhaps he'll sue her for slander. That might bring a little excitement to the election.
Because saying he wants to destroy them all is "giving aid and comfort" to them. Is anyone really stupid enough to buy into this?
The derp is strong.
If I were Trump and I won my primary criteria for appointing an AG would be willingness to prosecute Cankles and her gang of acolytes.
Republicans are now favored to hold the Senate in our inaugural 2016 Senate race ratings
"Now that we have this suspect in custody, the investigation can focus on other aspects, such as whether this individual acted alone and what his motivations may have been," said New York Police Commissioner James O'Neill.
Serious question: Why is it important to "focus on what his motivations may have been"?
Why not simply "focus on" what he (allegedly) fucking *did*?
He was a jilted gay with workplace problems and low self-esteem issues. Duh.
Btw, the FBI never found evidence that Omar Mateen was gay.
The self-hating gay narrative came from a single report if I recall correctly. And that has taken hold, not Mateen's affinity to Jihad.
Remember the NYT, "well we don't really know his motivations" but let's blame white christians and republican lawmakers for their religious freedom bills.
Inspired by Second Amendment supporters, Donald Trump, and rape culture.
Hate crime enhancers.
The dems are in sad state of affairs. And they appear to be doubling down on their strategy. Guilt and shame, the my policies are great but we just haven't marketed them as such.
They remind me of Happy Gilmore....when his girlfriend breaks up with him, and then to get her back he starts yelling her finger paintings suck.
I thought the last line of this Powerline post was pretty funny:
What's Wrong With Hillary?
she simply repeats the first statement almost verbatim, like she's stuck in a tape loop.
She had jolly well better have her meds *finely* tuned for the debate.
Remember the video of her getting dragged into the van when she passed out on the 11th?
This election is like that. The media will drag her and toss her into the Oval Office, while people like Krugman blame the media for pro-Trump bias.
We are officially through the looking glass(warning autoplay of Hrod):
Hillary Clinton-
How many issues has she happened to clarify her position on that are remarkably similar to Trumps after previously having her surrogates ridicule him for those same positions? I count at least two with this and the TPP. Also the calling the recent bombings in NJ and NY bombings.
Shorter Hillbot: Will try to steal some of Trump's thunder, but won't actually implement any changes to the visa system.
Of course the "refugees" are impossible to vet; they have no documentation, and there is no government entity you can contact to do any reasonable background check on them.
"The United Nations is suspending its aid operations in Syria after after the bombing of a U.N. aid convoy and warehouse in Aleppo."
Why was there a UN aid convoy in the capital of ISIS??

70% of European Jews will not go to Temple on the high holy days despite increased security. Don't worry, letting more Muslims into America would never make us less free.
-1 I would like to buy the world a coke
There are still Jews in Europe? I thought they had all left.
It says 70% will not go even with increased security, but it doesn't statistically mean or even imply that that is because of security concerns.
And reading on, this poll is total SHIT.
"Respondents --which numbered 78-- included rabbis as well as Jewish community leaders, both religious and secular."
"and secular"
"secular"
So their poll contacted a MERE SEVENTY EIGHT people, some of which weren't even religious Jews, and found that 70% don't plan on going to Temple?? Wow!! Who would have thought polling a group of people including people OUTSIDE of a faith found that a number of them would not attend that faith's religious services!?
This would be like if you polled Europeans in general on whether or not they were planning on going to Church without caring about whether or not they were Christian, or asking Middle Easterners if they were going to Mosque without asking first if they were even Muslim, or asking Indians if they were going to a Hindu temple without first asking if they are Hindu.
Not exactly. Even secular Jews usually go to synagogue on the high holy days. Imagine all of the Christmas and Easter Christians times ten and you have the Jewish community when it comes to the high holy days.
For what it's worth, secular Jews are not necessarily the same thing as atheist Jews.
What is the democrats strategy? Are they living in fantasy land? They have gotten killed in the Senate, governors, state legislators, house....and now look like a very real chance of losing to Trump. Along with pubs maintaining the house and senate.
Note they were blue everywhere in 2010.
The average American has real life concerns. When you are trying to pay a mortgage, keep your job, keep your children fed and in school you can see with great clarity that forcing tranny bathrooms on people is insanity.
Yep good point. Also libs complain the government mainly listens to the upper middle class to wealthy affluent policies. Don't really disagree with them but then they push climate change policies which is mainly from upper mid to wealthy people calling for it. The cognitive dissonance is staggering.
And if they had their way, it would be illegal for rich people to vote or speak about politics.
Yea which is odd seeing how the rich people are the ones pushing climate change policies
They don't have a strategy. And yes, they are living in a fantasy land. Think about this for a second. As you point out the Republicans control the House by a huge margin, own a large majority of state houses and governorships and were though might lose the Senate will only lose it by a razor thing margin if they do. Meanwhile, Hillary was never more than 7 or 8 points up in the polls over Trump. Yet, the Democratic media spent all summer saying it was the Republican party that was doomed.
The Democrats have no ideas or strategy because third way socialism and internationalism have failed and the country knows it. So, they either have to go all in with Sanders style socialism, something that is not politically feasible or admit they were wrong and thus give up their reason for existing.
Worse still, the coalition they have built is inherently contradictory and unsustainable. You can't on the one hand embrace the transformative power of government and then on the other hand embrace public sector unions and environmentalism which do nothing but make good government impossible. And embracing racial identity politics is all fun and games when it just involves calling Republicans racists. It isn't so much fun when the racial groups you have been manipulating turn on each other.
The other problem the Democrats have is that they embraced multiculturalism just in time for radical Islam to show up and reveal it to be the insane fantasy it always was. I saw this morning where DiBlasio is calling for more Muslim immigration. The mayor of a city that just last weekend suffered an Islamic terror attack is saying that the solution is to let more Muslims into the country. That is by any objective measure completely insane. Yet, it is the only response the Democrats have thanks to their complete commitment to multiculturalism.
Yea and it appears to me to be feel good multiculturalism for elites.
And terrorism is finally hitting the upper class and elites. Not many poor or middle class people live in Chelsea. If you didn't know any better, you would think DiBlasio is a mole on the Trump payroll whose mission is to make New York competitive for Trump.
If you lived in NYC, how could you vote for the party that wants to let more Muslims into the country?
My understanding is Bill has a horrible rating as well and was only elected.
This is what bugs me about progs....they push a lot of feel good policies for themselves, but they are never the ones that have to live with the results or are impacted by said policies. It is easy to put requirements on others when you don't have to be bothered by them yourself
Only elected with 15% or so
As John notes, they don't have a strategy. They believed Trump was a joke and that Hillary would win without having to work real hard. Now they're trying to play catch.
What's particularly stupid about this is that it echoes the reports from 2008: she was so confident she would win the primaries, that she really didn't have state-level organization beyond the first 5 or 6 primaries. And she never caught up.
Well it is not only just that of hillary vs trump. But all the house, sentate and state governments. Politics drives me bonkers as Obama was calling hillary unqualified in 2008 only to say she is now the most qualified ever.
Someone on instapundit a few weeks ago made a brilliant analogy to this election and Hillary. Hillary is another Martha Coakley. Coakley, like Hillary was a horrible candidate who was way ahead early such that the Democrats convinced themselves that there was no way she could lose. By the time they figured out that she could lose, her candidacy had already imploded beyond repair.
It isn't really that...but she is either stupid or actively trying to lose. The definition of insanity is doing something over and over while expecting different results.
Who thought it was a good idea to call trump supporters deplorables and go after a cartoon frog? While doubling down on policies that makes folks uneasy.
My wife called to tell me that she accidentally ran over a skunk, one that was already dead.
A few years ago I had a dog go after a skunk who was underneath my truck. Even after several car washes and hosing off under the truck the skunk smell was still there. It took weeks before it wore off.
http://www.h2o2.com/industrial.....x?pid=110&
My wife used that excuse once, too. Vinegar and water bottle placed discretely in the shower. Problem solved.
Yes, weak acids will neutralize mercaptans. Vinegar, tomato juice...
Was taking a little shot at Lord H. Summer's Eve.
Mercaptan always triggers this song in my head.
I'm mercaptan
I'm mercaptan
And I'll make you
MIghty sick
Our German Shepherds got sprayed twice a year. They never learned. They would take off after a skunk like it was a squirrel and lead like they always did with their nose and get sprayed right in the kisser. Dog combined with skunk is one of the most unpleasant smells there is.
Late one night a couple years ago my brother's dog managed to corner and kill a skunk, but not before getting sprayed. Okay, not the end of the world, except the pooch proceeded to bring the thing inside and mangle it in his dog bed. My brother woke up gagging. The house was barely habitable for days.
My first car was a VW Beetle. The floor boards were rusted out and had big holes in them. My dad brought some sheet metal home from work and I traced out the floor matt's pattern onto the tin and cut them to fit. The only self tapping screws we had were like 5" long. After installing both driver and passenger sides, the undercarriage of my car resembled a modern-day Iron Maiden!
Several months later while driving home from work one night I hit a skunk. I didn't think much of it at the time. Next morning my Mom bursts into my room bitching about some foul odor creeping into our garage that was coming from my car out in the driveway.
I had totally forgotten about the 9" nail steel death-trap the screws had turned my cute little VW Bug into. I ruined my Mom's kitchen broom when I used it to pry and scrape the skunk carcass from my mobile rat trap.
Mr. Dyslexic wins in the category of best url link.
According to reports, former president George H.W. Bush is planning to vote for Hillary Clinton.
He understands that we need to come together and get things done for the American people.
The Bush's and Clintons are cut from the same cloth. Both lying, corrupt, warmongering assholes.
As obvious as that statement is, around 80% of Americans would fly into a rage upon hearing it.
There is a distinct difference though. The Clintons are nouveau connecte and therefore gauche.
"The United Nations is suspending its aid operations in Syria after after the bombing of a U.N. aid convoy and warehouse in Aleppo."
It's all about Aleppo.
It's all about Johnson.
It's all about Johnson and Aleppo.
Listened to a semi-popular programming podcast on the way in to work this morning. They went almost directly from pining for a centralized regulating body for software engineers (a la the American Bar Association, someone to revoke one's "license to code"), to lamenting how little innovation there's been in aviation since the seventies.
This industry sometimes confuses and saddens me.
Take a giant shit on something and that thing will be shitty. If they cant follow that logic maybe they do need to have their license to code revoked.
centralized regulating body for software engineers
Fuck them
This.
Think how awesome it would to be an underground gangster programmer!
uh... yeah... and this would help how?
Some people write shitty code, and this should be prevented. If programming requires a license, we can limit the profession to only those who don't write shitty code. QED!
Because that's never been tried with unfortunate side-effects in any other industry. Nor is there any opportunity or incentive for corruption in such a system. Because Top. Men.
Ironically, healthcare.gov was trotted out as an example.
Four months. Just four more months left of the Jihadi in Chief.
I thought you didn't believe he was actually president. Is even a foolish consistency too much to ask from you, Mikey?
"Former President George H.W. Bush is bucking his party's presidential nominee and plans to vote for Hillary Clinton in November, according to a member of another famous political family, the Kennedys.
Bush, 92, had intended to stay silent on the White House race between Clinton and Donald Trump, a sign in and of itself of his distaste for the GOP nominee. But his preference for the wife of his own successor, President Bill Clinton, nonetheless became known to a wider audience thanks to Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend"
Maybe the headline should read, "Kennedy Abuses Trust of / Publicly Humiliates 92 Year-Old Man".
The NWO looks a lot like the Old World Order.
The New World Order, isn't that the one that emerges without the Soviet Union and with China as a strategic trade partner?
Sounds good to me.
If we ever have a President as "awful" as Bush Sr. again, we'll be really lucky.
Not a high bar is it? When the USSR fell, all of the sudden the Russians were the worstest of all people on the planet. Giving socialism a bad name was unforgivable. Reminds me of how the Democrats banked on the South, yet when they can't their votes anymore, the blue collar family man becomes inbred, uneducated racist.
Bush Sr. did some pretty amazing things.
His feats in diplomacy may be the greatest in history.
He held together a coalition of Arab states against Saddam Hussein--even as Saddam Hussein was raining scud missiles down on Israel.
Under the Bush Sr. Administration, the United States invaded a Muslim country and became the hero of the Arab street for doing so.
How's that for an accomplishment?
You want an even better one?
How 'bout refusing to invade Iraq because of the aftermath and what removing Saddam Hussein from power might mean for American security vis a vis Iran?
P.S. Yes, managing the collapse of the Soviet Union and expansion of NATO into Eastern Europe all without a missile being fired, that was a remarkable accomplishment, as well. The future wasn't any more inevitable back then than it is now--a good one still depends on us making the correct decisions--and Bush made so many good decisions. Too bad about that recession.
Was Bush Sr. better than Bill, W. or Obama? Absolutely. We'll probably disagree on Gulf War I because I don't see how that benefited the average American on bit and was used, rightly or wrongly, as a justification by the next 3 presidents for bombing the hell out of Iraq during each of their administrations. I'll give you the point that he had a much better geopolitical touch than any president that followed.
The New World Order
semi-OT, I listened to a lot of classical music growing up since my mom is a piano teacher and for years I'd mistakenly refer to Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 as "The New World Order Symphony", and now there's a permanent mental association between Dvorak and "New World Order", so I just had to get this anecdote out of my system. The brain is a weird thing, or at least mine is.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Don't leave this woman alone with your grandparents. God only knows what she might make them sign.
An amendment to their will naming her their heir and giving her power of attorney?
A form committing them to a nursing home?
Hell, she might even have your confused grandparent sign a commitment to join the Marines.
There are few more no class things than meeting a famous or well known person privately and then telling the world about it. The Kennedys have always been and will always be no class Irish Boston trash. The only class that family ever had was the tiny bit that Jack marrying into the old money Bouvier family gave it.
I appreciate they've done worse.
At least no one drowned or was raped this time!
But this really is low class behavior.
It's basically a dirty tricks campaign, with the victim being a 92 year old man.
How shameful is that!
The Democrats must be really worried they're losing, and Hillary keeps having bad week after bad week.
And Trump keeps having good week after good week.
The Democrats know they can't win on the issues, and if it comes down to character, Hillary Clinton is slimier than than a jellyfish.
They didn't leave poor George to drown or try and rape him. So, I guess he was lucky all things considered.
My favorite Kennedy?

This guy takes the cake!
He was busted for boinking a 14 year-old babysitter.
While he's awaiting trial, he was killed in a skiing accident that involved playing drunken football on skis!
Somebody threw an errant pass into a tree, and tracking the ball led him head first into the trunk.
Conk!
You're not supposed to laugh when people die. Not even when they died playing drunken football on skis while awaiting trial for statutory rape.
The news never talked about the trial. I only ever heard about the drunk football ski game.
Hives a whole new meaning to the term "Kennedy Family Tree".
When I first saw that news I assumed he had announced it publicly, because I couldn't even conceive of someone revealing that from a private conversation with him. So scummy.
On wattsupwithat, there is an article about the energy secretary or something (his photo makes him look like dad of the daughter from the movie the Patriot)...Anyway he maintains that there will be climate laws by the end of this decade and that public opinion is shifting to fight climate change.
See i don't see that at all. And the progressives are getting desperate....what clues me in is what they try to tie it to.

The pay-walled article in the Chron admits no one has any idea how to reach those goals, and mentions a time-line to figure it out.
Yep, feelings and more feelings.
Are you fucking kidding me? Superstitions and psuedo-religions are no way to run a state.
That's exactly how you run a state.
THIS is why I'm an anarchist.
As good a reason as any. I'm right there with ya.
Bovine Beano solves the methane problem.
Fivethirtyeight aggregate polling has flipped Nevada to the red column. Now trump just needs New Hampshire or Colorado to have the 270+ electoral votes.
And that's not even taking into account the fact that the official polling is almost certainly understating Trump's real level of support, the same way that all the polling understated Brexit's true level of support in the U.K. ("You're deplorable if you're support this position or person. So tell us what you think?")
Maybe. I think the 2012 election tried to sell undercounted Republican support and Nate Silver and 538 basically disproved it at the State poll level. If I had a professional interest in one side or another getting elected, I would probably not assume that. Polls that are outside the margin of error tell you something. Polls that move through the margin of error in one direction tell you something. Polls that flip around inside the margin of error only tell you the race is close.
Brangelina is no more! I don't blame her for getting rid of that gun grabber.
It's a good movie!
You added that definition just to link to it, didn't you?
So predictable. Sad.
Once was enough. More than enough, to be honest.
Why is the dude from How I Met Your Mother singing in that video?
But the squirrel thing was funny, so thank you.
You *beat* me to it.
