A Fort Worth, Texas, police officer caught on video pepper-spraying a group of motorcyclists as they rode by him has not been charged with a crime or punished yet. Writing at motorcycle.com, attorney John Butrus says the city rejected his open records request for documents from its investigation of officer William Figueroa and the city attorney he spoke with says the officer has not received any punishment yet.

I'm reminded of an interview just as the Lewinsky story was breaking. Sam Donaldson was interviewing PJ O'Rourke, and kept using the word "allegedly", to which O'Rourke finally interrupted him and said, yes, we must only allege that there is an age difference between Clinton and Lewinsky.

I asked the Attorney how citizens were supposed to find out what discipline an offending Officer receives if the City blocks opens records requests and the police will not respond to inquires.

"I understand your frustration, but all I can tell you is we have appealed your request to the Attorney General," responded the Attorney...

...with a visible erection. Which is extra telling, as the City Attorney is a woman.

I guess it doesn't bear noting that the bikers are hogging not all three lanes and blocking anyone else from using the road in a normal manner.

My iPad added the "not" in there. It sure looks like they're deliberately riding across all three lanes and blocking others from using the road as intended. I know it would be the first time ever a group of bikers acted like dicks on the road but it's possible that they were intentionally fucking up everybody else's ability to use the road.

The cop was a dick here, but I fail to see the bikers as good guys.

I wholeheartedly agree. The cop should be charged with whatever crime a "civilian" would be charged with if he released a pepper spray canister at a motorcycle cop. My guess would be aggravated assault at a minimum.
