Brickbat: End of Life Care

A Belgian court has fined a Catholic nursing home €6,000 for refusing to allow a resident to be euthanized on its premises. The court ruled that only individuals, not institutions such as nursing homes and hospitals, have a religious right to refuse to take part in euthanasia

They also had trouble finding a bakery to make the arsenic filled farewell cake.
'I ate what?'
I apologize. Don't feel comfortable being first. BUT you bastards were all sleeping.
I've been up since 3 here.On my third cup of coffee.
I've been up since 3 there, too.
and I've been...and I've had...this meme is just not working for me, I slept in and had a healthy nutritious breakfast...in your faces
Sommocrates' famous last words.
But, hey let's give Adans Smith +10 sun god robes.
I'm agnostic,I'm not sure I exist.
I'm linguistic, I talk but nobody understands me (or pays that much attention either)
So I'm not the only one who finds that the amount of effort people will put into reading an email is inversely proportional to the effort I put into writing it, multiplied by the number of questions I asked that did not receive a response and will be forced to ask again.
The last words of a drunken red neck? 'Hey ya all, watch this!'
+1 "hold my beer."
+1" Nah it won't hurt at all"
Everyone is happy. The church gets to make a stand for its faith, and the government gets to assert its authority at all cost. And the displaced nursing home residents, well, they don't matter so much.
So...moral equivalence between the government and the Church?
How did this nursing home let people know not to do it? It the building self aware? I assume a person,or persons made the call. Or is it like the 'self aware corps' progs are always railing against?
Now we know how much freedom of conscience costs in Belgium.
I've seen people who have suffered severe strokes and ALS. It's a horrible way to die.
If I get to the point where I can't even talk, or change the channel, and I have to shit in a diaper. Then fuck it, put a shotgun against my head and blow my brains out.
That said, I am sympathetic to the local healthcare workers. Nobody wants to shoot old Old Yeller. Forcing people who wanted to extend life to violate their beliefs just because the government said that's the law is all sorts of fucked up.
I have a confession,I shot Bambi's mom.
mmm... did something bad to Bambi's mom too, but she was alive the last time I saw her, I swear!

Why do we have to wait on the stroke or the ALS? let's get the shotgun now...
I knew that would happen with this group here.,he didn't think it through.I prefer a .22 to the eye.Less mess and very little splatter.
but we likes the spatter!!
Your morals may not diverge from the state-approved list.
Well saying you want to die in Belgium is akin to saying you don't want to live there. Belgium has to denounce suicide to avoid being denounced by it

'The court ruled that only individuals, not institutions such as nursing homes and hospitals, have a religious right to refuse to take part in euthanasia'
"Whenever two or more of you are gathered in my name, so too, I will be there"
/Belgian court
Individuals have rights, a group of individuals has no rights. That won't lead to any abuses.
And again, social liberalism tolerates no dissent.
The court ruled that only individuals, not institutions such as nursing homes and hospitals, have a religious right to refuse to take part in euthanasia
And the court also ruled that only individuals, not institutions such as courts, have a political right to rule that only individuals, not institutions such as nursing homes and hospitals, have a religious right to refuse to take part in euthanasia, right? RIGHT?!
One rule for the peasants....
Individuals have rights, but they forfeit all of those rights insofar as they act through legal personae fictae. The New York Times Corporation told me so.
I never get tired of this link.
I mentioned this to someone who was against the idea of corporate free speech. I asked if the New York Times Company had First Amendment rights like a natural person, and if so, whether any other corporations had those sorts of rights, too.
My buddy's step-mother makes $96 an hour on this PC. She has been fired for 9 months but last month her payment was $9600 just working on the PC for a few hours. Check It out what she do..

I'd like to Brickbat the medico-legal establishment of every country that has Right-To-Die, but not Right-To-Try, for being part of the problem of the world being too damn death-happy.
It's like how every school has to have accommodation for sub-normal kids, but the high-IQ ones get squat most of the time.
Wow, that last part might have been TOO harsh. But the first part stands.
