Defense attorneys in Cobb County, Georgia, are suing to get audio recordings of discussions that Superior Court Judge Reuben Green has held with prosecutors without defense attorneys present. The discussions were captured by courthouse security video, and in one video Green was caught indicating he planned to give one defendant 25 years in prison even before the trial started. The county attorney's office changed its policy on releasing security videos after that video and a few others were turned over to defense attorneys. The county will now only turn over the video, not the audio, unless the person receiving it signs a confidentiality agreement.

OT: guys, I made a big whoopsie. I sold what I thought was aspirin to my dealer who then sold it to people suffering from joint pain. Turns out it was fentanyl and now a bunch of people are unfortunately dead. Thank God for the 33rd and 34th amendment which outlaw licensing requirements and guarantees my right to bear drugs. I'm not a licensed chemist so those guys should have had their own HPLC before they bought. Caveat emptor, I say.

This is really getting fucking nuts when they start to go after sellers. As mentioned above, why not start going after automakers whenever someone kills people with it and alcohol companies if they drive under the influence?

It may be hard to believe, but in other countries they have court systems where the judges don't run campaign ads about how many people they've locked up. Shocking, right.
