Billionaire David Tepper is moving from New Jersey to Florida this year ? and so is his tax contribution to New Jersey, which is so large the move threatens his former home's state budget.

Actually, average gasoline prices in Florida seem to be a bit higher than in New Jersey. This is one of the reasons I'm so for a flat property tax becoming the main source of income for government. Someone always has to own a property, so fluctuation will be negligible each year. Everyone who does anything in your state will have their dollars contribute to it through either owning property themselves or giving money to a property owner. If you make is flat rate per acre without adjustments it requires basically nothing to calculate, limiting the need for both tax prep services and tax collectors.

If they'd drop the church and non-profit exceptions it would be perfect.

I have decided the only fair way for Government to raise revenue is for all Government employees to raise 3x their salary each year via donations, bake sales, and selling their asses on the street. If they each raise 3x their salary that will pay for non labor expenses as long as they keep them reasonable. Plenty of office space in old factories that Government regulations have shut down, and if they want heat they can burn all their mandatory forms.

As a practical matter, the ruling mostly helped Democrats and upheld the status quo.

But until this decision, the court had never resolved whether voting districts should contain roughly the same number of people or the same number of eligible voters. Counting all people amplifies the voting power of places that have large numbers of residents who cannot vote legally ? including immigrants who are here legally but are not citizens, illegal immigrants and children. Those places tend to be urban and to vote Democratic.

1) You don't agree with "one man, one vote";

It does chill speech around here a little bit because no one wants to piss away their time and energy debating the aforementioned ad hominem bullies. Though quite often, the urge to not let them get away with their petty bullshit is too hard to resist. Perhaps my comments appeared a bit trollish cause I didn't agree much with the site and its regular commenters, I went there for the pictures. Anyway, there was one frequent commenter there, let's call him Rick, who posted a lot and strongly opposed the site party line. His posts were pretty distinct, and his disagreement with the gay-prog party line had next to nothing in common with, say, mine. Despite this at some point anyone disagreeing with the gay-prog orthodoxy was immediately accused of being Rick. And that was so pathetic, especially when you knew full well that you were not Rick but the site regulars accused you of being one.
