Donald Trump's Win in South Carolina Proves the GOP Is Becoming the Party of Trump
Trump is now the clear favorite to win the GOP nomination.

Donald Trump will win the South Carolina Republican primary, according to multiple news organizations. Fox News, CNN, and NBC News have all called Trump the winner of the contest, based on projections.
The final tally isn't in yet, but it looks likely that Trump's win will be smaller than the 10-point-plus lead he'd posted in some polls leading up to the race.
Trump's win, combined with his strong showings in both Iowa, where he came in second, but garnered more votes than any GOP candidate in history save for the victor, Ted Cruz, and New Hampshire, where he easily beat the competition, makes it clear that Trump is a dominant force in the GOP primary race.
Indeed, Donald Trump is by any measure the clear favorite to win the GOP nomination.
He leads in national polls, and no GOP candidate who has won both New Hampshire and South Carolina has failed to go on to win the nomination. Trump has effectively taken over the Republican party.
In the very short term, the most pressing question is how his rivals respond. Jeb Bush, whose campaign has disappointed throughout the race, is on track to post a disappointing fourth place finish. His SuperPAC, Right to Rise, which raised more than $100 million, has seen donations fall to essentially nothing and now has just $2.5 million left in the bank. It seems quite probable—though not certain—that he will drop out of the race in short order.
John Kasich will stay in, insisting, implausibly, that he still has a chance to win.
That leaves Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, who are expected to finish in second and third place, as Trump's main challengers. Both are focused most on becoming Trump's sole challenger, and consolidating the anti-Trump support in the party, and so both are likely to intensify attacks on each other, as well as on Trump. The GOP race, already rough in tone, is likely to get even more raucous.
Cruz and Rubio will have a tough time, though, with history against them, the near certainty of fierce mudslinging from all sides, and Trump's frontrunner momentum propelling his campaign. At this point both are facing uphill battles—and Rubio in particular, who has vocal backers in the party establishment but has struggled in actual voting contests, looks like a long-shot to win.
Which means that, over the next days and weeks and months, the Republican party had better begin to reconcile itself to the likely outcome of the primary race, and start seriously thinking about what it means that the GOP has become the Party of Donald Trump.

So it's down to Frosty Nachos and the Mechanic Hispanic to stop the Trumpernaut.
That is too many good band names or wrestling names. I'm not sure which.
Now that I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if I accidentally mentioned a coupe of luchadores.
Bands who wrestle?
Cubans don't eat nachos like Mexicans do.
I think we should call him Frozen Daiquiri.
Frozen Mojito?
::shakes fist::
I just told Banjos and she chuckled. "It's racist but it's cute."
"It's racist but it's cute." Like Princess Lebensraum from that lost My Little Pony episode.
Fuck. I'm changing that to The Frozen Mojito.
Oh stop.
The GOP is whatever the GOP is.
It's libertarians who need to reconcile that the party they thought they would be able to reform, and who they hung their star on, has become the party of Trump. Rand Paul dumped barely into the primaries and Republican voters flocking to Trump.
There you go, what a future in the GOP. Good work.
Jack
Still haven't provided me with your carbon footprint calculations.
Trust me on thus... In total they are much worse than yours.
But enjoy Trump, Chumby!
Your net carbon footprint is much worse than mine. I'm looking for quantitative not qualitative.
Just trust me. Much worse.
Trust me when I say I don't trust you at all.
Have you ever even calculated your carbon footprint?
He's extremely short. His car uses less gas, his clothes use less fabric, etc. Not much carbon at all compared to a person of normal height.
The gloating about the GOP voters not picking the libertarian is so misplaced it's just weird.
Wouldn't waste the effort on you Chumby. As you said, you wouldn't trust the number anyway.
Have fun, Chumby!

"Have fun, Chumby!"
Fuck you and your passive-agressive bullshit, twerp.
Jack
So the answer is no. You remind me of the Prius driver I used to work with that drove a few hundred miles to support Bernie Sanders in the New Hampshire primaries even though she couldn't vote in NH.
I too drive a Prius! Once again you are right!
Exactly. Its a badge. For the uninformed.
Since you choose to not even evaluate your personal contribution to CAGW, at least tell me you write a check to the government for your use of their roads. Your Prius burns gas to move, just like 99.99% of the cars on the public roads. These public roads are maintained using gas tax monies. When folks that drive vehicles that get more MPGs than average, they are not paying their fair share. Unless of course they write a check each month to make up for what otherwise would be tax cheating. So do you pay your fair share?
Yes.
Jack
Prove it.
Of course not. You're filled with progressive shit. You should be on a blacklist, or in a detention center. Or maybe deported to Anarctica. Not spewing phony climate advice.
Confuses Rand Paul (who in fact did hitch his wagon to the GOP's star) with libertarians generally, most of which despise or at least eschew the Repubs as they are part of a larger group worthy of approbation: Republicrats, the evil statist consensus of establishment power servers.
Simple fallacy of conflation.
Come on.
This website is replete with GOP apologists. From Harsanyi to even Gillespie. And the commenters are worse. You and a few others may not be, but you are in the minority. This website is much more concerned with what the GOP candidate is all about than what Gary Johnson has to offer.
I see a more heterogeneous commenteriat. I do notice that a few are GOP shills, a couple of battered liberals, but most would support the idea that free minds and free markets are more important than any party brand or such team identification.
We agree to disagree. Sadly, I don't think you are close. But so be it.
DEATFBIRSECIA|2.20.16 @ 8:33PM|#
"I see a more heterogeneous commenteriat."
You're wasting time engaging an obvious troll like Jack? Help yourself. Jack has NEVER engaged in anything like an honest discussion, whether by stupidity or mendacity is beside the point.
Jack and Ace is Bo?
Bo seemed smarter than Jackand Ace.
Smarter, and a little bit pompous.
"From Harsanyi to even Gillespie."
Lord help you if John sees this comment.
JOHN.. HEY JOHN.
JOHN COME HERE.
Some people want to talk to you.
Bring 'em on!
Damn I hate to admit it, but this is a valid point.
If you accept the premise that Rand Paul equals libertarians, yes.
So who equals libertarians and why doesn't this website devote half the space to him/her than they do to the GOP.
No one person equals libertarians, Ace.
Fair enough.
Gary Johnson.
Who dat?
Does is really hurt when you get twisted and bent in order for someone to get ice out of you?
I'm sure this is difficult for someone like you to conceive, but this publication exists for purposes other than nakedly partisan political advocacy.
I think it's more than that. I believe many libertarians, myself included, believe that the GOP does have a significant, authentic, small-government wing. We have a yep party system, there is no getting around that fact. And the GOP has a much better chance of giving voice to at least some libertarian principles than the Democratic party.
Yep? What the hell, that's not even a word. Should be two party system, of course
leave it...I'm liking the Yep Party, provided it means "yep, we're pissing off those establishment types again."
I like it! All you had to do was shift 1 key to the right on the top row. "Yep party system", & so it is.
Objectively, the GOP is bad on liberty. Objectively, the Democrats are worse on liberty. Thus why most attempts at "reform" are targeting the GOP.
20 years ago, this wasn't the case... Democrats were better on social liberty. However, since the social justice wing has taken over the donkey party, it's either the party that's really bad on social issues but only moderately awful on economic issues (GOP) or the party that's really bad on social issues and on economic issues (Dem).
Again, I think that there is a wing of the GOP that genuinely does not care about gay marriage, that thinks the current compromise on abortion is good, and don't want their children to die in wars halfway around the world.
I don't think most Republicans are as bad on social issues as the caricature.
My parents, for instance, are evangelical Republicans, who believe that homosexuality is a sin, and oppose gay marriage. But they would never advocate for the use of government force to raid gay bars, for instance. Many far right people fear the government being used against them, and so instinctively resist using government against others.
Whereas the far left is convinced, rightly, that they are in power, and thus don't fear the government being used against them.
"Whereas the far left is convinced, rightly, that they are in power, and thus don't fear the government being used against them."
I'm not sure that this is true. In my experience most people on the far left see themselves as disenfranchised and fighting the establishment and the status quo (see Bernie Sanders campaign and his supporters for example)
Hmmm. You are ruining my narrative, Calli, to the reeducation camps with you!
They're not. The most hardline position they take is on abortion, and that's really hard to classify as an anti-liberty issue. (Being a pro-life libertarian, i would say that it's a pro-liberty issue)
I know many people like this. However, what I start hearing from them after introducing libertarian solutions is a resounding theonomic "Chrishtun Nashun" chorus. They believe that the government can't be neutral on moral issues because they're generally Dispensationalists (whether they know it or not) who see the US as the modern day Israel.
My experience is that most conservatives are afraid of leftists using the government against them. They see government as the playing field.
That wing is, at best, vestigial. Perhaps it's just a wart and you think it's a wing.
What were RP's numbers again? Oh, yeah.
37% of Republicans support Gay Marriage and the trend is distinctly upward. So, this is becoming a non-issue.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/183.....riage.aspx
What were RPs numbers?
The same as Ron Paul's--but to a higher office. Elected. Like Massie, Bevin and Amash.
In office.
There are no Democratic equivalents.
I wouldn't say that. Cruz considers himself something of a libertarian candidate.
Is he by Reason standards? No. But lefties hate him more than Trump largely because of his economic ideas (which are probably the most free market of any candidate). See the recent tantrum Robert Reich threw about him.
"But lefties hate him more than Trump largely because of his economic ideas (which are probably the most free market of any candidate)."
He'd be a lot more attractive if he kept his superstition to himself.
Only to you and some others Sevo.
He's expounding on what you call superstition because he made the calculation that there are more that believe in what you call superstition than there are that believe that it is superstition.
I and many others agree with him.
One of us is the minority.
Which one is it ?
You mean Jeebus freaks?
Jesus freaks are not the future of America. They are its past.
I would say your bigotry is its future too, but I am reminded that you are merely some flapping headed, beady eyed Canadian. And therefore not a real person.
I'm still waiting to see if the democrats go with their soul and choose the "I Don't Have A Plan Free Shit Train" crazy old man socialist, or go game theory, and choose the corrupt establishment type robo-hag because it's her vagina's turn now.
Freedom won't be on the ballot, probably ever. It's not on the menu for elections.
I'd be a big fan of democracy, except that I keep wondering what the fundamental difference between democracy and collusion is, other than legalistic definition.
What will happen when the Dems run out of "firsts"?
Also, what happens eight years from now? Will voters realize their lives have been shitty for the last 16 years?
^This is why I'd actually prefer Clinton to, say, Trump.
1) Let's get this "first woman" shit out of the way.
2) Hopefully after 16-24 years (throwing in the Bush years) of awful Statist rule, people will wake up to the fact that high schoolers have never experienced a healthy America.
Comrade, after 16 years of Statist rule, there is no America to be healthy.
We're being fisted by those firsts.
fuck off, joe, you are not a very good troll...time to hand it off to a new and better troll.
He was a shitty troll ten years ago, too.
A smart guy I work with observed that if someone says something will never happen, you can count on it happening within 90 days.
This country will never recover fiscal sanity, constitutional government, and respect for life!
Sadly you are correct.
But I said "never"!
It's not opposite day.
Which means it IS opposite day!
I would ask him if he were a tree frog.
"But I said "never"!"
Well then obviously, you are not someone.
Perhaps it will.
I don't think it will without massive upheaval though.
Another great depression will do it until another period of success follows.
Rinse wash repeat
Is Trump paying off half the other candidates so they'll stay in and split up the majority of votes?
No, it's the Stupid Party. (Though Jeb did show a brief glimpse of awareness and drop out of the campaign today.)
Kasich and Carson need to get out for either Rubio or Cruz to have a chance.
If Trump wins the Presidency, he'll be the most unpopular President since Richard Nixon.
If Hillary wins the Presidency, she'll be the most unpopular President since Richard Nixon.
If we're gonna find the libertarian moment in this make a silk purse out of sow's ear, here, it's that, from a libertarians perspective, unpopular emperors are better than popular ones.
P.S. We are so screwed.
Fuck the robot vote.
Domo Arigato
Ieie.
I for one welcome the vote of our future robot masters.
Ken! Nixon won re-election in a landslide. LBJ was the unpopular one - he decided not to even bother trying for a second term. Nixon was so popular he could screw the Repubs by imposing wage and price controls, cheerleading for the EPA, real-politiking his way into China - and still the GOP licked his ass and swore it tasted like strawberry ice cream. Only some of them dope-smoking hippie libertines got so sick of winning with Dick that they split off and started some third party movement.
Are you ruling out Grampa Gulag as having a chance to beat Hillary? Serious question.
From an objective POV, Bush set a pretty low bar on approval ratings. It'd be pretty hard for anyone to fall below that.
Speaking of shittyness: My wife wants me to eat ore spinach, so, for purposes of marital harmony, I do. But then a few hours later it's like I've contracted dysentery. I don't what it is with that particular leafy green but it's wearing on me.
I swear I'm gonna find the guy who invented spinach and punch him right IN THE DICK.
Just tell her you've had all you can stands, and you can't stands no more. Then eat a can of spinach, knock her the fuck out and watch her never ask you to eat it again.
+1 Strong to da finnich!
Melt sharp cheddar cheese on it. It improves the taste (because melted cheese, duh), while also plugging you up, counter-acting the diuretic effects of the raw spinach.
You're welcome.
This is just too easy. Pass.
Pass.
That's the problem!
this entire thread is 4 stars out of 4.
"...a few hours later it's like I've contracted dysentery."
Maybe because you have. Have you tried bleaching or iodizing the spinach before eating it?
Like with a cloth?
Makes wiping hand motion. /HRC
Just bleach your rectum instead. Porn stars do it.
Your problem lies not with Popeye.
Your problem is that you let someone else tell you what your body wants to eat.
If you punch Popeye in the dick you might just get your ass kicked.
My take: the GOP needs to double-down gay marriage.
Well, as Mencken said, we're getting it good and hard.
Its scary how relevant he still is. we dont ever learn, do we?
Come on, it could be fun, Crusticles.
How do they do that, promise faggot cookies for all?
Faggot cookies for all!
"Trump is now the clear favorite to win the GOP nomination."
There are more than 300 million people living in the US. Discounting the obvious imbeciles like Jack, there must still be at least 100 million 'eligible', and Trump is the best the GOP can do?
i think I can count my theory of electoral politics self selecting for assholes as proven.
It's amazing how sorry most of the 8 candidates are. No wonder we need to import foreigners like Cruz to fill out the slate.
It's stunning really.
Across the continent even.
MEXICO will have better leader in 2018 than any other NA country. MEXICO
Couldn't we import some not quite so embarrassing?
I think the Dems imported some Kenyan a few years back.
What would the opposite of a Kenyan be? A Swede?
You could shoot a paintball into any crowd, and hit a better candidate.
I looked at the field last summer & thought they looked pretty good, actually, allowing for the usual of usual. Aside from Santorum & Huckabee, all the serious contenders were acceptable to me.
A-yup. Look back like 6 months and it's a dozen borderline-competent politicos arrayed along a spectrum between Huck/Santorum and Rand at the extremes. Trump was just a joker who'd drop out after making some noise and publicity. I think Walker dropping out so early was the canary in the coal mine which should have warned people something was up.
Eh, I'm skeptical that Trump would be winning if it were a 2 man race.
The problem is that the non-Trump vote is split among so many people. And Jeb isn't helping by spending gobs and gobs of money attacking Rubio
Exactly. This doesn't prove the GOP is the party of Trump, it does seem to prove it's the stupid party..but we already knew that
It was also an open primary.
People keep underestimating the # of primary voters for whom Trump is their 2nd choice. I think if it were a 2-candidate race for the nomination, Trump would be winning by even more.
Yes, I think there are too many people who fail to actually look at the poll numbers. Trump is popular. He'll probably win the nomination. He may well win the Presidency.
He will not win the presidency.
Th real question is, how many primary voters does Trump pick up when Kasich and Carson drop put? After that, it may not matter if he sweeps enough states next month. If it's close, a two man race may be competitive. Part of which depends on whether Cruz or Rubio gets out first.
The bathroom in this coffee shop has no toilet paper left. Someone toss me a roll?

So long, Brown Hordes!
They've let me down again!
I want to say that, but I seriously need some TP first.
It's called a sock.
Wipe my ass with Tulpa? Would.
I'll be in my bunk.
You will have to use paper towels. You'll be ok, but use pieces, not the whole sheet, so you don't plug the toilet.
Fox News just sent an alert saying Jeb's dropped out.
I wonder who convinced him he could possibly win? God, what a waste of time and money.
Wish I had a slice of that fat money cake he wasted. What was it? $ 200 million total? More?
Bush just dropped out.
So the field has been trimmed of Bush.
That's always a good thing.
I disagree. I always desire more bush in my life.
It's the natural way to floss.
Either you're old or the women you do are.
Bush is so outdated.
Oh good, now maybe my cousin that worked for his campaign can babysit for me on Monday.
Let's hope he'll mount a third party run. C'mon, Jeb!, go for the LP nomination.
He is going for his dream job, President of Mexico
Burn!
You would willingly entrust the safety of your child to a Jeb Bush campaign worker?
Skenazy should start working on her piece about your future arrest asap.
You still need a babysitter? I mean, the Dems and GOP call us children, but damn.
Maybe he's planning on dropping some acid.
Ha, I have a bench trial in magistrate's court on the other side of the state. So, more like shitty weed and street wine.
How many of the commentariat are freakin lawyers? I swear, half of us are (maybe it's just all the Tulpa socks)
Forfend! Software developer - like the other half of us.

"Oh good, now maybe my cousin that worked for his campaign can babysit for me on Monday."

You know an actual Bush supporter? I've heard of them, but never met one.
Please clap.
Crap now he won't sue Cruz about his eligibilty and nbC will remain undefined.
Oh Canada!
/wipes tear.
as awful as it would be for everything I kinda do hope trump wins (he's probly gonna at this point I guess). weve just had like 15 years of war and recession and really really blatant disregard for anyone else's freedom (the president, of course, is free to do whatever he wants) and whoever wins is gonna keep trying to control more and more stuff a central authority cant understand and shouldnt be involved in, so it might be better just to be dropped right into the boiling water. people might actually notice how powers you give to a president you like can then be used against you.
Recession ended in mid-2009 and UE is now 4.9% with 14 million new jobs added. (Unless you're one of the 4.9% who won't work for a living and wants to sop off the taxpayer)
Just a FYI for the reality challenged.
I don't have Internet access, can someone please check the gold spot price for me.
Banjo will you divorce that no good husband of yours and marry me and my wife ?
That comment was spectacular.
5% unemployment is considered full employment by most economists, as you will always have some people between jobs, taking a leave to continue their education, etc.
So you are trying to tell us that the UE has full employment.
I call bullshit.
It is the BLS number.
And is corroborated by ADP - the private payroll company.
Sorry if the facts don't support the GOP narrative.
Turd, you ever pay your gambling debt?
Except the U-6 is 9.9.
Turd did you respect the BLS numbers under Bush ?
I thought not.
Did you answer Banjos question ?
I thought not.
Banjo is going to divorce her husband and marry me and my wife.
Spread it around.
Full employment sure ain't what it used to be.
i didn't mean that since jan 1 2000 we have at all times been in any specific state (I was vague). I guess it's really 9/11 that seemed to me to start this (most recent) big government streak we're on, but I was in high school on 9/11 so that impression may have more to do with me growing up (just a little bit).
The government always wishes to grow; it's the nature of the beast. 9/11 have all the little statist assholes the perfect excuse to institute crap they'd been pushing for years.
Never let a crisis go to waste, and all that.
WorKforce is smallest size since the 70's.
not necessarily arguing, but i think that is a point that needs to be mentioned as well
Have you noticed all those national news stories about homelessness? Yeah, neither have I. Yet I can objectively see the massive increase in homelessness in my area. Perhaps this is just a local phenomenon, but somehow I doubt it.
I have never in my life seen women with their children panhandling at the drive-through of fast food restaurants.... but I see it relatively often now. I never saw "professional" looking women with rehearsed sob-stories asking for money in the parking lot before either - but I do now.
There is definitely something different brewing in the economy over the last decade. There's lots of people who aren't working, and haven't been for a long time.
"Have you noticed all those national news stories about homelessness? Yeah, neither have I. "
They'll be back in full force as soon as we have a Republican president. To publish those kind of news stories this Presidency would be ..... disloyal.
I agree with Bernie---real unemployment is 10 percent; labor force participation is lowest in 40 years; more and more people have to get a second job to pay the rent.
Can we stop this fucking myth that the economy has recovered? This economy is shit.
4.9%? Not counting anyone out of a job more than six months and discounting other categories? You mean the distorted numbers Obama uses because real unemployment is more like , right? Or is this just the stuff you were ordered to say for your daily commanded talking points by your bosses at Media Matts?
I'm almost in a fetal position. I fear that Trump is just smoothing the waters for Bloomberg unless Hillary gets some more decisive wins.
Is it too late to get on the ballots? Can someone even jump in at this point as a Party candidate or as an Independent?
Good question. I'd think it would be nearly impossible. Thanks. I feel better now.
(Excepting 3rd party/independent, of course). But then you have possible shenanigans with the Electoral College.
Not even close to impossible yet, even if they want to get nominated at a national convention.
Someone can jump in as a party candidate named as such on the ballot until the state parties have to submit their prez elector slates, typically in Sept. Someone can be a de facto candidate until the electors transmit their ballots.
Bloomberg would actually be less bad than either of them. A nanny stater for sure, but so are they, and at least he's somewhat competent and won't sell federal policy to the highest bidder.
This. He was good on fiscal stuff.
Other way around. Bloomberg will smooth the waters for Trump.
The drift towards a populist Trump dictatorship is making me think that Hillary might not be so bad after all.
What the heck has happened to this country?
Trump is too disliked to become dictator. If he wins, expect 4 yrs of gridlock, which is a good thing.
If Hillary wins, expect unconstitutional actions by the alphabet soup of executive agencies that makes Obama look like a piker.
Wouldn't it be funny if Trump won and we could watch the Democrats do mental gymnastics as they try to tell everyone that, hey, despite their lambasting it for the last 7 years, gridlock ain't so bad after all.
But what would she actually do? Other than enrich herself. I've seen no evidence that she actually believes any of the platitudes she's aiming at the base.
But she would be motivated to craft a legacy.
Fuck up the healthcare system even more? I dunno.
Yeah, I think she's in it for the money pure and simple.
No, she makes a tremendous amount of money every time she gives a speech and Bill and Hillary have billionaires on speed dial, if they need a lift somewhere in a private jet. She's doesn't need more money specifically. This is all about the Power. Do you actually think she's going to get to the White House and say, "I made it, now I can coast." She's going to implement government by Top Woman and she's going to implement it hard.
Once upon a time, Hillary had political positions based on more than getting elected. She is more "liberal" than Bill, as can be seen by her attempt at healthcare reform in the 90s. She may no longer believe the bullshit she is pushing, but that doesn't mean she won't go full progtard once elected.
Gun control will be high on her list of goals, as will be an empowered EPA, and whatever acronym the Labor Board goes by.
Non declared wars will proliferate. Spying on the American people will be expanded. The IRS will be used against political and personal enemies.
She is truly scum, and will govern as such.
Still better than Trump.
Prepare her daughter to run. Let's not forget that foregone conclusion.
*shudder*
"Keep the seat hot for her daughter's inevitable run. " FTFY
What would she do? CASH IN BIG!!!!!!!!!!
I think that happens regardless of who wins.
"We purged the counter-revolutionists. Clear sailing ahead, comrade."
That you expect a Hillary dictatorship to be any better than a Trump one is kind of laughable.
I have to laugh at the people who are legitimately scared of a Trump presidency. As if he'd be any better or worse that Comrade Clinton or Cruz/Rubio.
It's endless wars, shitty economy and rising national debt all the way down.
Laughing? At what? The Smoot-Hawley 2.0, the anti-Muslim/anti-immigrant police state? The possibility of WW3?
My point wasn't that Trump is a good or even acceptable choice. My point was that NONE of the candidates have shown they'd be any better or worse.
Crubio?
Lil' Taco is claiming victory once again after another third place victory.

Where were the famous Bush ratfuckers? Why not smear Trump with "black baby" slurs like they did McCain? A Bush without a ratfucker is like a four cylinder GTO.
I can't tell if it is gleeful or angry.
Delusional. It still thinks there are Bush supporters on here and that government statistics are true

Yeah, come on PB. I've raked the GOP over the coals at least s much as I have the Dems. I also think that I've stood up for you a few times over the years. You either don't care enough to pay attention to who is who on this board, or, you're just being dishonest.
I suppose it could be "and" instead of "or".

What the fuck are the Washington Capitals drinking? I know Trotz is the most under rated coach in hockey but Lord me quite the season they're having.
You know who else had Trotz?
Animal Farm?
The answer's upthread. Hint: marriage & spinach.
_Warren_ after his wife made him eat raw broccoli?
Stalin?
Mexico?
Palin? That is why she needed a buttplug and shit always overflows?
For years, the media concern-trolled about how the Republicans needed to get away from scary extremists who went on about unborn babies and protecting marriage and instead came forward with "pragmatic" and "moderate" approaches.
The Republicans did it in 2008 and 2012, and the media praised them for endorsing moderate mavericky types who lost gracefully like they were supposed to.
Now the Republicans are going for a Northeastern moderate whose belated conversion to the prolife and profamily causes fool very few people, and who has called the gay marriage decision the law of the land.
And Trump isn't tied up with ideology, because he believes that with the right person (himself), the right answers can be figured out - just get going and do what works, never mind what some theorist with a small dick may say.
And Trump isn't tied up with ideology, because he believes that with the right person (himself), the right answers can be figured out - just get going and do what works, never mind what some theorist with a small dick may say.
He says that in one breath, and then in the next promises to do something stupid, impossible, or extremist without the slightest hint of pragmatism.
He's not a moderate or an extremist, he's just a clown seeking attention.
I hate clowns. Always did but I would never stoop to comparing clowns to Trump. Even they don't deserve that.
Trump vs. Hillary- Great! I'm looking forward to not having to justify my vote for Gary Johnson, whereas those who vote for either of these fuckheads will have to justify their vote to me.
Fuck GayJay, McAfee or stay home!
Not sure if McAfee would help or hurt-there is the whole murder accusation cloud hanging over him. I would love to see him debate Trillary though!
There's also the likelihood that he's a bit nuts. NTTIAWWT.

I don't think Trump wins. As people drop out those votes go to Rubio.
Rubio + Jeb is already close to Donald.
Kasich drops out and Rubio is now ahead of Donald.
Cruz voters might split more evenly.
I don't see how anybody supporting Cruz would go to Trump after the shit he's been saying about Cruz.
Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.
Suderman is an idiot - Cruz drop out hardly "consolidates" votes against Trump. Both are anti-establishment - a Cruz drop out
plus Carson drop out leaves Trump with over 60%, the exact percentage of GOP members who are against the established
bonehead GOP chieftons. And Trump DID win with a 10% plus victory.
According to this, Rubio would benefit from a Cruz dropout. Yes, a lot of Cruz voters are anti-establishment, but they also tend to be very conservative and religious, and may be skeptical of Trump's lack of religious cred and his liberal past. Same thing for Carson voters.
http://www.publicpolicypolling.....mary-2016/
And so all of Cruz's evangelical Christians are going to vote for a Catholic? Don't count on it.
Trump's lifestyle and stated views present far more religious difficulties for evangelicals than a conservative Catholic like Cruz does.
Cruz isn't dropping out so this is all just mental masturbation.
Dripping out?
Apparently Cruz lost a lot of evangelicals to Trump. Unless someone can sell evangelicals on the idea that Trump is the Anti-Christ Trump will continue to expand his base of illiterate, drooling assholes to include those singing "Onward Christian Soldiers".
So Cruz will benefit when Rubio drops out?
Being an anti-establishment Republican does not mean you will vote for a lifelong liberal Democrat (Trump).
From what I've read so far it appears that two thirds of Ron Paul's supporters chose Trump over Rand Paul.
There's always been a nihilist streak among libertarians. I saw this in Murray Rothbard's apartment in New York almost 50 years ago during a couple of his libertarian get togethers. Anyone who opposed the state, for any reason, was seen as an ally. Rothbard, who lived in New York for years, could not see that the Black Panthers were just a bunch of street thugs who used black liberation themes to throw a fog over their criminal activities that included murder.
Trump's supporters come from the "whatever is, is bad" gang of fools. People who blame all their problems on "others" flock to Trump like hypochondriacs flock to quack doctors.
The good thing about Trump is that the Republican party will disintegrate as a result. The bad thing is that he will elect Bernie Sanders who will get to pick the next three Supreme Court justices. Goodbye guns, small business, home schooling and medical innovation. Hello European style stagnation.
Sanders is not going to be the nom, let alone the president. Everything else you said is on-point.
Trump would destroy either Samders or Clinton.
Is a strategically placed meteor strike too much to ask for?
Trump wins again!
And how does he win?
By being decisively opposed to OPEN BORDERZ, and telling those who don't like it to go fuck themselves.
Suck it, Progressitarians!
Sounds exactly like the drunk on the barstool at the corner tappy. Is that what we want in a President these days?
Nothing worse than sounding like one of the peasants, eh?
Or, in other words.
"By being decisively opposed to OPEN BORDERZ, and telling those who don't like it to go fuck themselves."
And otherwise pandering to retards in general. Still won't be president.
no GOP candidate who has won both New Hampshire and South Carolina has failed to go on to win the nomination.
This sounds significant till you realize that the SC primary has only existed since 1980. The only Republican candidates (other than incumbent presidents) to win both NH and SC were Reagan in 1980, Bush in 1988, and McCain in 2008. Suderman's sample size to back up that statement is exactly 3.
Winning NH and SC would usually be a sign of broad support since one is more libertarian and the other more social conservative, but that's certainly not the case this year. BTW Reagan won the states with 50% and 55%, Bush won with 38% and 49%. Trump's percentages are below even McCain's. He's not a good bet for the nomination.
"Trump's percentages are below even McCain's. He's not a good bet for the nomination."
You're creating a narrative where none exists. I don't think the win in both NH and SC are as decisive as Suderman indicates, but if Trump notches up another win in Nevada, it's a pretty strong indicator. And South Carolina was man race and Trump was 10% over two people tied for second place. He's the best bet to win the nomination.
This site reflects the Bettingfair numbers and it says Trump is roughly 50% likely to win at this point:

Trump will continue to dominate until more of his opponents drop out. Rubio and Cruz have their support split by the presence of Kasich and Carson respectively.
The Libertarian Party had best get warmed up and pick a candidate to run. None of the Libertarian candidates have any name recognition save Gary Johnson. There are many right-leaning Republicans looking for a lever to pull come November if the T-Rump wins the nomination.
I know that I am not alone when I say the T-Rump stink is too gross to consider casting a vote for the Carny Barker. I suspect that he would empty the Freak Tent as soon a she is elected. So nominate Johnson and the Presidential vote count will elevate your party and bring more permanent members you way. Hell - there are Donks out there looking for an alternative as well.
Bad news for you: it's the right-leaning Republicans who are voting for Trump now.
A third party candidate is going to have to pull away the moderate Republicans, which the LP will never do unless they go easy on their ideology. Johnson also has very little name recognition and was a disaster of a candidate in 2012.
Actually Trump dominated among moderates.
Drink !
Hello, Constitution Party!
The "rent-is-too-damn-high" founder endorsed Trump.
There goes my second choice.
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballo.....rses-trump
Gary Johnson is a second-hand-store Republican. Austin Petersen has name recognition outside the GOP. Republicans vote for one thing only: to force women to have unwanted babies. If Freakonomics is right, this is solely for the crime that results, as a pretext for a police state theocracy--more teens for cops to shoot.
"Republicans vote for one thing only: to force women to have unwanted babies. "
Wow, you should probably get out of the basement once and a while and talk to some actual people. And talking does not mean shouting at them while you scratch your crotch.
More millennials than not---including those who identify as "liberal"---are against abortion on the grounds that science shows that's a person.
Goes against the narrative---I know, I know. Sorry about that.
T-Rump, that a pretty good name for a political predator with tiny little hands to pick your pocket.
Are there no racial breakdown of the votes? How many minority support did Sanders and Trump get?

I've been a member of the GOP for 32 years (as of today, believe it or not). If Trump wins the nomination, I'm done. I would have vastly preferred Rand but at this point I'd take anyone over the Donald. The man is ruled by his passions and his statements are too similar to those made by Hitler in his rise to power in 1932. Why are people having trouble seeing that?
I don't think you need to worry yourself too much; think back on all those 32 years, look at the comparatively bland, inconsequential candidates you've been given in the end, and see that neither Sanders nor Trump have a snowball's of getting in. Come autumn, expect the race to be predictably boring, meaning Cruz or Rubio vs. Clinton... perhaps with one or two female veep runners thrown into the mix, to stir things up.
And even in the case that these outsiders were allowed to get in, the result would not be so dire as you make it out to be, because this is not Wiemar... the system is entrenched, and has its own survival to look after; given its own inertia, and the fact that so many would end up on pins & needles, as you appear to be now, the actual result would be that just about nothing would get done over the next four years.
Because, the things that Trump & Sanders say they want to do are less real goals, and more about ginning up support and/or fear, in both their supporters and their opponents; they are about further polarizing the constituencies, and ultimately, making it possible for the sides to be content with the lackluster choices with which they will be presented.
This requires no conspiracy; the correct calculation on either side is to know that progress is made only incrementally, and in as much as it serves that purpose, you should expect to see outliers like Sanders & Trump appear, and then disappear, once they have unwittingly served their purpose.
They said the same things about Corbyn...
Indeed, but then, I don't think he's as extreme (in context -- in the US, he certainly would be) as these two, and also, it remains to be seen what he'll actually be able to accomplish; not much, I'd guess.
Um, ability to handle conceptual thinking? "Hitler's religious beliefs" is the name of a web page listing all of the biblical quotations in Mein Kampf that made him popular with German Catholics and Protestants just as Henry Ford was popular with American Catholics and Protestants. Americans and Germans admired the Christian WWI veteran... until Germany invaded Poland.
p.s. I've voted libertarian 32 years now...
My fear is that President Trump will push through a new Smoot-Hawley Act, and then we can all sit back and enjoy World War 3.
The tariff did not cause the depression heralded by the crash. Republican Herbert Hoover used the income tax to enforce the law making beer a felony--passed just days before his inauguration. See "Prohibition and the Crash". The Liberal Party endorsed repeal, thereby forcing the Democrats to man up to it, and FDR endorsed legal beer about a month before the election. The economy was in shambles after all money had fled banks to escape the IRS, or Bureau of Internal Revenue as it was called back then. Bootlegging had earlier been a tax shelter, exempt under 5th amendment protection from self-incrimination on tax forms. Bush asset-forfeiture confiscations caused this latest crash and depression, following the same pattern as 1929-1933, only using mainly the States for the actual looting. See graphs of asset-forfeiture and mortgage defaults side-by-side.
Total asset forfeiture in the United States is about $1.6 billion. That's about what Americans spend on toilet paper. You might as well blame the recession on excessive ass wiping as blame it on asset forfeiture.
So would President Sanders. With President Hillary it's a toss up, depending on whether the unions or the crony-capitalists bid higher for her favor. Hey, at least there's a chance.
Even more shocking is the realization that Trump is a thousand times better than the entire GOP soft machine, and ditto Bernie and the Dems. For the first time in history political soft machines have underestimated the intelligence of the average voter and are paying the penalty.
Lolwut? You think trump is winning by playing to the intelligence of voters?
The GOP is not the party of trump. He has never gotten over 35% of the votes. He has only managed to fool about a third of the rank and file and many of them may actually be democrats. If Trump does become the nominee, then the party will splinter, which is why Bill Clinton encouraged him to get in https://www washingtonpost.com/ politics/bill-clinton-called- donald-trump-ahead-of- republicans-2016-launch/2015/08/05/ e2b30bb8- 3ae3-11e5-b3ac-8a79bc44e5e2_ story.html (spaces added to break into less than the allowed 50 character pieces) . As more of the base becomes aware of that, I expect Trump will fade out.
Atlas Shrugged was supposed to be a warning, Not A Newspaper!
If you use correct HTML tags for the link, the 50 character limit does not apply.
a handful of primary voters voted for Trump in a couple states. Most Republicans across the country don't want Trump.
I have a suggestion for libertarians, social conservative Republicans, conservative Democrats and Independents that are just plain sick and tired of business as usual in Washington D.C. In November 2016 when you walk into the voting booth vote for every Libertarian candidate on your ballot. No I am not trying to tell you the Libertarian Party is the answer to the country's prayers. What I am saying it is the next best thing to term limits and it will send a very clear message that we the American people are tired of the corruption. Tired of the endless wars. Tired of the lobbyists. Tired of the ever mounting debt. And just plain tired of being sick and tired. It will also show that We the People are still in charge. All I am asking here is for one election cycle let the Federal government know that we are fed up. If you are also fed up with the status quo then spread the word. The problem with this country starts and stops in Washington. Let's make 2016 the year Of the People
Cruz and Rubio are playing chicken. Or prisoners dilemma. Or something.
If one quit now and threw his support behind the other, they could change the course of the election. But once trump starts claiming winner take all states with a plurality... It's all over.
Cruz is a showboating narcissist, who knows he's self-torpedoed his career in the Senate. If he's ever going to get a shot at power and influence, it's going to have to be through the presidency, where he doesn't have to work with other people (a skill he's shown himself to be horrid at).
No way he drops out to help the party.
Then that's it: Hillary Clinton is going to be prez. Incredibly, it feels like a relief.
Especially if you're not in America and won't have to deal with the consequences.
The consequences will radiate out. It'll still suck.
I think the Republicans have been waiting a long time (7 years) to hit the black man (Obama) with a club. And Trump is the club.
The club that will destroy the GOP's chances of getting in the WH and hand it to Hillary.
Proves no such thing. Something like 65%, or more, of those casting ballots in SC voted for someone other than Trump. As the real also-rans continue to drop out - looking at you Ben and John - their supporters will go to Rubio and Cruz.
The first three primary states represend unusual demographics. Do not despaire.
There has never in history been a candidate who's won both NH and SC and not gone onto becoming the Nominee.
