When You Need Help …

The Monticello, Utah, city council has fired Police Chief Kent Adair after his department refused to answer a 911 call about one of its officers. The estranged wife of Sgt. Cole Young called 911 to report he'd broken into her house and assaulted a man there. But when the dispatcher tried to get an officer to respond, they all declined. When the dispatcher called Adair about the issue, the two were recorded laughing about the matter. A San Juan County sheriff's deputy eventually answered the call. Young has been charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor assault.

One being charged, others refusing to do their duty, and the chief fired. Sounds like they need to rebuild from scratch.
just scratch the whole idea...go with a vigilante committee!
Could not be any worse.
If the article is correct and the department is three people, then presumably only one would have been on duty at the time. Why would they even need a force that size? they'd be better off contracting with the county.
The county will only enforce county and state laws. If the town's petty tyrants want to enforce their own petty edicts, they need their own gang of thugs to do it.
The "city" doesn't get a cut of tickets written by county officers.
