Since he officially entered the presidential race, the press has largely ignored the economic side of Mike Huckabee's platform. But not today. The Washington Postreports:
Mike Huckabee met privately for an hour Wednesday afternoon with the AFL-CIO's executive council.
The former Arkansas governor was the only Republican presidential candidate who responded to a questionnaire from the federation and to appear seeking an endorsement.
Huckabee knows he will never get an endorsement from the overwhelmingly Democratic group. But the fact he showed up helps him make the argument that he is a different kind of Republican—his campaign hopes he can make inroads with more blue-collar union households who identify with his brand of conservatism.
"I want to be the president for all of America, not just for people who are already hard-core Republicans," Huckabee said at a post-event press conference in Silver Spring, Md. "I'm kind of surprised that I'm the only Republican who is here."
Huckabee's skepticism about trade deals may have gone over well at the AFL-CIO, but I suspect these remarks didn't:
Asked about collective bargaining, Huckabee said he defers to the states on whether to pass right-to-work laws.
"I'm not opposed for people to make their own choices about collective bargaining and unionization," he said. "That's a choice that people ought to be able to make."
"The demographics of a state can be very different in terms of ethnic makeup of the states. I just think the federal government has done a miserable job in trying to dictate to the local level of how to best govern ourselves," he added.
Arkansas, for the record, has been a right-to-work state since the 1940s, and Huckabee defended its right-to-work laws while he was governor.
Democratic candidates Martin O'Malley and Bernie Sanders also spoke to the union leaders yesterday, and Hillary Clinton and Jim Webb will meet with them today.

Let's get all of their base supporters together for a big mud-wrasslin' contest. Winner gets the official title of Lesser Evil. It shouldn't take much space, we could rent a Quiznos.
Yet another post from a cosmotarian designed to tear down a Republican candidate and make him seem no different from a Democrat, just to garner cocktail party invitations.
Well in their defense who would want to drink with Huckabee? He would probably be a terrible wingman and things would get weird when he pulled out his bass.
OT: i installed windows 10 last night. It looks nicer. MS managed to fuck up the start menu, again. On the right side are a bunch of fucking useless stupid tiles I never use. On the left side is a list of the fucking useless stupid tiles I never use. There is no list of programs, no run, no control panel. So I have already had to install Classic Start Menu to find my programs which goes to show how fucking incompetent the designers were. No wonder MS is dying.
I haven't DL'd it yet because I figured this sort of shit would happen. MS being MS, you have to know the initial release is going to be fucked. There's a reason why every single server OS approved for use in our company has a "R2" attached to it.
Classic Shell utility. I've been using it since I got 7 three years ago, and finally converted the Spousal Unit about six months ago. He installed 10 on eeePC (getting rid of XP) and both Dell tablet/PC hybrids yesterday (getting rid of 8). He's pleased but says not to let go of 7 until you have to.

This is what I get for not reading the WHOLE post. Mea culpa.
To be fair, pointing out that right-to-work isn't a federal issue is actually correct.
No, actually, it's not. The "right-to-work" laws are the only mechanism allowed by the National Labor Relations Act to opt-out of some of the provisions of that Act, such as secret ballots and closed shops. While strictly speaking it is up to every state whether to pass a RTW law or not, the NLRA narrows the options available to the state. Furthermore, the NLRB has authority over employer-union relationships even if the state is RTW, it's just that unions have a harder time taking hold in RTW states.
Whose worse Santorum or Huckabee?
Does it matter?
Clinton, Trump, Obama, Christie, Kasich...
Want more?
debatable,
Is Kasich the one with the tall bangable wife?
Elizabeth Kucinich

I would rather deal with Santorum because you can wipe that shit off with a clean towel. Huckabee is like herpes, he won't go away.
Could we get him to do it from, say, the tenth floor of a building?

KKKOCKTAILS
Or is it KKKOCHTAILS?

Cortana is kind of cool.
Just another cosmofagian trying to derail a discussion about a proud American conservative.
That's because I'm a Santorum man.
"You can always spot a Santorum man."
"Run, Spot, run!"

My plan is to wait 4-6 months.

Can you not change the appearance of the Start Menu? I thought you could. You can apparently make it work like it was in Windows 7.
Jesus. Is Huckabee right about ANY issue?
To be fair, pointing out that right-to-work isn't a federal issue is actually correct.
How much better would our lives be if the Federal government did much, much less?

Not even about Jesus.
When is the next Trump article?
Come to think of it, that AFL-CIO logo is *offensive* since there is no female hand.
Unless, of course, it's a transgender hand -- but that would be reading *way* too much into a symbol.
Way to other man-handed women, asshole!
Gold, Jerry! 😎
Call me when Mike Huckabee pitches himself into a bonfire.
Or a woodchipper.
If the GOP actually splits up, Huckabee is the future face of one-half of it. Shudders.
