Three Dead, Seven Injured in Louisiana Theater Shooting
The attack came on the same day a jury provisionally approved the death penalty for another theater shooter.

Twenty minutes into last night's 7 p.m. showing of the Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck at the Grand 16 multiplex in Lafayette, Louisiana, a man stood up and began firing a handgun at the audience of about 100 people, killing two and injuring seven before killing himself. The theater complex was evacuated, and so was a nearby apartment building as police detonated a suspicious package in the shooter's car that they worried might be a bomb.
"When these kinds of acts of violence happen in a movie theater, when there's no real good reason why this kind of evil should intrude on the lives of families who are just out for a night of entertainment, I know a lot of us are horrified and shocked," said Gov. Bobby Jindal, who visited the scene of the shooting. "This is an awful night for Lafayette. This is an awful night for Louisiana. This is an awful night for the United States." Jindal mentioned that one of the victims, a teacher who was shot in the leg, had jumped in front of a colleague to shield her from the gunman, a detail highlighted by ABC News.
Police have identified the shooter, a 58-year-old white man, but have not released his name yet. Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said the man had a criminal record, "but it looks like it's pretty old." Per The New York Times, Craft "said it was too soon to know his motive." It may or may not be significant that the Lafayette attack happened on the same day a jury provisionally approved the death penalty for James Holmes, who killed 12 people at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, on July 20, 2012. Holmes' lawyers will now have a chance to persuade the jury that his life should be spared. Monday was the third anniversary of the Aurora massacre.

Did this guy have some pictures taken with a flag?
Lafayette helped treasonous slave-owners in their treason and was behind the Champs de Mars massacre.
And Louis XIV revoked the Edict of Nantes.
Rename them both.
Well, let's hold out hope - the culprit could be video games or online porn. There are a whole bunch of alternatives to unthinkingly rush to.
There were no "treasonous" slaveowners, you moron.
There were no "treasonous" slaveowners, you moron.
Also Reason is sure on the pulse of America. Did the whole staff go to their cocktail parties at 4:30?
However Amerigo Vespucci was involved with Slavery so "America" is out.
Sweet, new trigger words.
Baltimore, The Star-Spangled Banner, New York, Albany, California, anything named San or St.....
Freedom, justice, Mom, apple pie.
"Twenty minutes into last night's 7 p.m. showing of the Amy Schumer comedy shit-factory Trainwreck at the Grand 16 multiplex..."
Two thumbs down.
Should we rename July? It's named for that slave-owning, Imperialist dictator Julius Caesar. And August as well.
It only matters if they owned brown slaves.
#Blacklivesmatter. White ones can go fuck themselves.
When are they finally going to outlaw guns in movie theaters?
Good morning Fist ,This is the deep south, I doubt there will be a big gun control push there..All though the theater may have been a gun free zone
It was. Someone should sue the sign manufacturer as it didn't properly prevent this tragedy. It's gun forcefield is obviously defective.
suprise ,suprise suprise
Yep, no guns allowed in theatres. That provision does tend to get ignored by at least the female sect, though. It's too much of a hassle to dig your gun out of your purse for every shop that bans them on premises, and leaving your gun in your car is a good way to get it stolen. Most women just get a holster that won't show when they reach for their credit card. So obviously the solution is to convince more women to get concealed carry licenses.
You don't need "guns in" in your question?
Teacher arrested for sexual assault of boys has brain condition that left her incapable of denying their advances. My wife should give her a blood transfusion.

"Prosecutors said they still plan to press forward with their case.
"All too often victims of sexual abuse are demonized by their abusers. It takes a tremendous amount of courage for a victim, especially a juvenile victim, to come forward knowing the stigma some in society place on victims of sexual abuse," Essex County Assistant Prosecutor Gina Iosim, who is handling the case, said in a statement. "We continue to prepare for trial so our juvenile victims may find the justice they are seeking."
What a bunch of horseshit. A 15 y/o boy should have some balls. We are raising our boys to be pussies these days.
I had an woman in her mid 30's screw my brains out when I was 14. It was the greatest thing that had happened to me up to that point in my life. It was great. At no point did it ever cause me any emotional distress.
Most do.
And you know this how?
Look at my handle, dummy.
I would think 15 year old boy would want beer, not candy
Beer candy is the best. Especially when spiked with my special Cosby Compound.
"I had an woman in her mid 30's screw my brains out when I was 14. It was the greatest thing that had happened to me up to that point in my life. It was great. At no point did it ever cause me any emotional distress."
I don't think it's about emotional distress so much as who is legally responsible if something happens because of it. Your parent/guardian is left holding the bag.
Ideally, you'd be completely financially responsible for yourself at that age. But unfortunately we don't live in that kind of society.
Ironically, if we did live in a society like that, one-night-stands between middle schoolers and adults would probably be even rarer.
Not to mention if she gets herself knocked up the kid is on the hook for child support. Fifteen is a little young for most kids to be fully responsible for fucking up their entire lives like that when pressured by the adult in the room. Parents are their guardians for a reason.
The amount of "sympathy" I have for this woman's "victims" is inversely proportional to the hotness of the teacher.
She may have not been able to turn them down, but she was perfectly capable of filing as disabled and having a teaching assistant in the room. Your disability stops being an excuse when you take no steps to mitigate its impact.
Wait a minute, wait a minute. If she has a brain condition that left her unable to deny THEIR advances, then why is she the one facing sexual assault charges? Also, I thought only EVUL CIS-HETERO men were capable of sexual assault. Where's the SJW twitter mob on this?

Come on Jacob, that's Yahoo! level speculation, although I will give you credit for not shoving the reference into the middle of the article.
What? You don't think the death penalty was the direct cause of this?
I really don't understand how Libertarians can be against the death penalty in principle. I can understand it in practice, since a lot of cases are rather dodgy. But when someone is completely, 100% guilty (like that theater shot), letting them ride old sparky is the obvious answer.
But,you have a law that is final and has been proven to be used against people that were not guilty. You need to rid the law of something that can be abused in such a manner.Sure some are clearly gulity, some are not.Protecting the innocent has to be job one.
So is any imprisonment. You cannot get time back.
True of all punishments.
Ban government then. It kills the most.
Not exactly. At that point, you'd let everyone go because you aren't metaphysically sure they're guilty.
The only reason this is even confusion is because we've forgotten what justice is. Justice is repayment. If someone steals from you, they owe you it back with interest. If they beat you, they deserve a beating. If they kill you, they deserve death.
It shouldn't be to the government to fill these verdicts, only (at most) to get a jury of peers together to determine guilt or innocence. The jury ought to then determine (if guilty) what the maximum punishment should be, and the victim or victim's representative can then collect (or not collect, or make another deal) as they see fit.
I have no right to stand between a victim and justice as I am an unharmed 3rd party. Government is also an unharmed 3rd party.
I guess reading comprehension isn't your thing but reading the minds of dead people is.
check your death toll - you may be correct but you are high relative to other news outlets
This happened almost at the same time as a mass killing in Oklahoma using a knife. Clearly, Obama is frustrated because we haven't passed common-sense knife control legislation.
That man was likely a Gurka, bomb Napal!
Let me guess. Another gun-free-zone.
I blame it on brain-eating amoebas.
I blame Amy Schumer
On further reflection on the totality of circumstances, I now blame Chuck Schumer
Screeching about "common sense" gun regulations in 3... 2... 1...
I think I've figured out the motive.
First they have to figure out if there's any connection between him and the Tea Party, Rethuglikkkanz or Sarah Pailin. Becasue priorities.
It now appears that the recent alleged Chattanooga shootings was a fully hoaxed/staged event, with at least one alleged victim having previously died in 2004, in Iraq 🙂 .
However, his unfortunate 2004 death did not did not prevent the individual from subsequently appearing live, years later, on "The O'Reilly Factor" :-).
See: "Chattanooga Hoax? Victim Reported Dead Years Before Shooting ":

So why would any rational person believe this latest [LA] shootings story, huh?
Like 9/11, the Batman Shootings[Holmes] etc. etc., its probably just another psyop , complete with actors.

Is this going to lead to laws requiring theaters keep their house lights on during shows?
I don't think that turning the lights on would make a difference.
The real problem is that people are distracted by the large screen. Requiring a common sense screen no larger than a breadbox would allow moviegoers to be better aware of potential threats.
Google pay 97$ per hour my last pay check was $8500 working 1o hours a week online. My younger brother friend has been averaging 12k for months now and he works about 22 hours a week. I cant believe how easy it was once I tried it out.
