Reporter Sharyl Attkisson Believes She's on an Obama 'Enemies List'

Former CBS investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson, who just released her book Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama's Washington, has been spilling the beans on unsavory anti-media practices by the Obama administration. In an interview yesterday Attkisson stated her belief that the White House has put her "on a list" of journalists that it targets.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
And why do you think they would target you as opposed to more partisan voices, like Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck?
The question carries the assumption that they haven't targeted others. I kind of assume I'm on a list. I don't think I'm the only one, along with James Rosen and the Associated Press, that garnered special attention. There's probably a list of people.
So an enemies list, like in the Nixon administration?
I've been told there is such a list, yes.
And who do you suspect is on that list?
Well, there's an internal email that indicated reporters who were working with leakers in government agencies or perceived as enemies of the White House are being targeted. So I think that's probably accurate — anybody that they perceive as harmful to their agenda or working with leakers and whistle-blowers, which I did a lot of.
Do you have sources who told you the names on that list? Is Rush Limbaugh on that list, for example?
Another reporter told me — I can't remember who — that they thought he was on some sort of target list, but I don't know that to be the case. I have someone who told me the existence of a list but not the names on it.
The Most Transparent Administration in History has repeatedly shown that it doesn't live up to that self-declared title. Reporters get shut out of meetings without reason, at least one guy has the job title "Freedom of Information Request Act Denial Officer," the Columbia Journalism Review reports that "the Obama administration has prosecuted more people as whistleblowers under the 1917 Espionage Act than all former presidents combined," and in recent significant news, it was revealed that the administration regularly demands changes to reports by the White House press pool.
Nevertheless, each of Attkisson's individual claims must be greeted with skepticism. One of her most scandalous accusations is that the White House bugged her computer. On Friday she released a video that she suggests shows a hacker deleting text from a document on her computer in real time. Computer security firm Interhack Corp. questions Attkisson's account and says it looks nothing like a real hacking but more like a stuck backspace key.

As much as I want to believe her I just simply don't.
I just can't take someone named "Sharyl" seriously.
And she misspelled the shit out of her last name.
You don't think that petty point-scoring power-mongers like Obama have an "enemies list" even if it's not that literal? Come on. It's like Petty Tyrant 101 to have an enemies list. Half of all they do is to gain the power to crush and hurt people who pissed them off. It's a large part of the appeal of the power.
I'm a complete nobody, and I have an enemies list.
Who the hell are you?
You see, no one eats sugarfree foods. These are tough days for him. I'd reckon the obese are on the list.
[adds Epi to list]
Still holding a grudge from when I gave you a wedgie, eh? Get over it.
John's a complete nobody, too, but he has an enemas list.
Is that why he spews so much crap?
The open-sign-up period is over, so you'll need to wait until next year
For the enemas list?
I have a feeling that I and my various sockpuppets are many people's enemies list.
I certainly wouldn't put it past ObaJarrett to have an enemies list. Unfortunately for Sharyl and others in the media, the media has collectively destroyed its reputation over the past, what, 40 years, to the point where nobody believes them anymore, even when they are telling the truth.
Hey! Some reporter she can't remember told her something! What more do you want restoras? Proof?
Journalists pretty much have to earn the public's trust these days. I do like reading a few, but it doesn't seem like there are many writing today willing to take major risks and aggressively challenge the government's assertions.
I will agree that more of the public is skeptical but there are still way too many people who have been conditioned from birth to trust talking heads and printed media. They take their half-gram Soma tablet and then believe whatever his Fordness Obama and his minions have to say.
" It's like Petty Tyrant 101 to have an enemies list."
I resent the term 'petty'
Uh-oh. Looks like Epi just made GILMORE's list.
No, he made my list!
You can be my wingman anytime
Oh no, I know they have an enemies list. I'm saying she reminds me of several of the paranoid schizo women in my life. It's not her fault I'm jaded by past experience to discount her claims of persecution, however realistic.
She is milking the story just Valerie Plame milked her "victimhood" for all it was worth.
Enemies List would be a good name for a libertarian social networking site.
I monocled this comment
My Nemesis Roster will put you out of business.
Even paranoid people have enemies.
Fake scandulz?
One reporter was asked to remove a mention of Michelle Obama's workout, another to delete details of Obama presenting a longtime reporter with a candle-lit dessert
Who pissed in the press pool?
Why would anyone target Rush Limbaugh? All he does is preach to the choir. He is not changing anyone's mind/vote.
As much as I detest Rush Limbaugh and his warmongering - would not be surprised if he was a target. Preaching to the choir does reinforce the beliefs of some people - knowing that someone else holds the same beliefs enables some to not waver.
I bet his tax returns get a second look.
It does - this is why he moved from New York to Florida.
Wait wait wait. He still has a show??
I'm serious.
Yes, still the top talk radio show with about 2.5M listeners. That beats every cable news show in prime time.
Crazy right?
There's good money in preaching to the choir. The Daily Show does the same and gets about 1.2M viewers per night, although you'd think it was 10 times that given the media reverence.
it looks nothing like a real hacking but more like a stuck backspace key
These experts are pathetic. I've seen lots of movies about computer hackers and I should know what a real hacking looks like.

Angelina Jolie wearing a motorcycle jacket?
ACID BURN
Sounds like a job for Walter O'Brien and SCORPION!!!!!!
That was a stuck key in the video. But, it does not explain how a fiber optic internet connection was installed at her house, without her knowledge.
Drunk FiOS guy?
And why do you think they would target you as opposed to more partisan voices, like Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck?
People like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck don't need to be on 'enemies lists'. Everyone knows who they are, what they're about. It's not like when Obama got elected his Chief of Staff whispered in his ear and said, "Mr. Obama, I think there's something you need to know about a... *rifles through slips of paper* a Rush Limbaugh. Got a radio show... quite a few listeners..."
However, Journalists that are granted badges which get them into the whitehouse, and access to high-ranking government officials are a different affair.
The likes of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck merely comment on the journalism of people like Attkisson and then make political hay out of it.
Going after someone like Attkisson is essentially going after the source.
There's also something else about these so-called enemies lists... I have no doubt that EVERY administration has them. It's a list of 'friendly' and 'unfriendly' reporters that hyperactive assistants, interns and administration operatives keep.
None of this suggests that there's nothing wrong with the Obama administration, or any administration for that matter, blocking access to 'unfriendly' reporters who are sniffing around and asking too many questions.
It's not so much an 'enemies of Obama' list, but more of an 'enemies of the people' list (which are pretty much the same thing, anyways).
His Fordness is proud of you. You may now take a Soma tablet and go on holiday.
Watch Reason TV's interview with her on Benghazi, Fast and Furious, and the decline of investigative journalism in America.
The decline of investigative journalism in America is just another fake scandal, ginned up by investigative journalists in America, which just goes to show you.
The truth of the matter is that investigative journalism does still go on - just not in the dinosaur media. It is people like James O'Keefe, Alex Jones, and others in independent media who are now doing the job mainstream newspapers and tellevision journalists used to do.
CBS confirmed the computer was indeed hacked, but the perpetrator(s) are for now unkown.
But really, who would put it past the gubmint?
I know I am late to this party, but: ATTACK WAAAAATCH!
