Another Confrontation Potentially Brewing in Ferguson (UPDATE: Police Fire on Citizens)

Once again an extremely militarized police force is facing down peaceful protesters in Ferguson and trying to get them to disperse. There are dozens of officers, some counting more than 70 and reports that there are snipers with weapons pointed at the crowd.
Reddit has a live stream gathering all the information coming out as it happens here. For those willing to endure the occasional conspiracy theory, Infowars has a live USStream right there at the front where it's all going down. Here's a stream from the local Fox affiliate as well.
Update: Ryan J. Reilly, the journalist who took the photo on the right there, and Washington Post journalist Wesley Lowery were briefly arrested and then released while at a nearby McDonald's. Lowery tweeted, "Officers slammed me into a fountain soda machine because I was confused about which door they were asking me to walk out of."
Update: Police have begun advancing on the protestors, shooting tear gas and rubber bullets to try to force them to disperse. Here is another stream. I think the streamer was hit by a rubber bullet while I was watching.

How many people do the cops have to kill to prove to the people that they're the good guys?
They have to remind the people from time to time that they're there to protect and serve. Sometimes they have to remind them pretty hard.
There's no greater threat to the paramilitary police force than the civilian population. The cops need a show of force like this once in awhile. So it's clear who the enemy is.
Yup. Let's keep pumping out those billions to "Homeland Security" to ship these civilian-friendly policing tools out to every podunk town in the country. Because we have met the enemy and it is apparently us.
"...we have met the enemy and it is apparently us."
Never have truer words been spoken.
In the words of Cypress Hill, "When the shit goes down, ya better be ready (when the shit goes down)"
In college me and another guy were working through some linear algebra on the white board in the computer lab, when he puts up equation A raised to the power of k.
..[k]
A
A to the k.
So I said "A to the mother fucking k home boy, A to the motherfucking k."
He gave me a blank stare while. One of the other guys at a computer burst out laughing.
It was great.
You, sir, just validated 90% of my college experience.
That right there is the basis of an excellent Wierd Al Yankovic song.
I'm hearing that to the music that goes, "...when the drugs kick in."

Wow, that's some deep lyrical genius right there.
You also forgot the annoying high pitch sampled horn or whatever that crap was.
God, those guys sucked.
Aghast at the militarization of the police and the quick trigger fingers that seem to be the rule more than the exception, but what about looting stores is "peaceful"?
There is nobody looting stores. Nor was there anybody looting stores last night.
looting stores, while stupid, was not a causal factor here. It simply gave some knuckleheads an excuse.
It wouldn't matter if these were looters, rioters, or just protesters. Each represents defiance, and that's going to draw out the goons in their S&M gear.
When they start getting uppity, the "fuckin' animals" need to be put back in their place.
What about looting stores is "peaceful"?
Isn't that what George III said about the Boston Tea Party?

That live stream is interesting. There is a street preacher preachin' away. Haven't seen one in a while.
You just don't live in the right places. Few years back, there was a street preacher at the University of Arizona drawing a crowd.
Mostly of curiosity seekers and a few hecklers, but he was undaunted.
Looks like they may be arresting journalists now, per twitter. Including possibly the one who took the picture in this story.
I think Obama should stand by and do nothing.
Sort of like he did during the Gulf spill.
But I think Rand Paul should speak out. Before Obama says or does anything.
I think Rand Paul *should* speak out. I mean, seize the moment, motherfucker!
Getting interesting
People keep saying that after one of these shootings sometime in the future, everyone is gonna go nuts. I wonder if maybe this is the one, and it's just a delayed reaction.
Most people will stop following this in a few days when the protests calm down. Sad but true.
Wrong. This is the new Rodney King Riots. We're going to be talking about this for 20 years.
Conspiracy theory is the libertarian stock in trade! We believe some truly crazy things, like the idea that minimum wages don't help the poor, regulators serve the purposes of the businesses they regulate, and cops aren't always and forever virtuous warriors of peace.
Apparently the cop in question was injured just before the shooting. Also, the jerks at Anonymous have chimed in, sending out names and addresses of people they think were involved in some way (but sometimes weren't).
Telling the media that you have the name but refuse to release it, isn't that like a waving a red cape in front of anonymous?
Toro!
They live for that shit.
"Also, the jerks at Anonymous have chimed in, sending out names and addresses of people they think were involved in some way (but sometimes weren't)."
Sort of like what the police regularly do with 'persons of interest' and suspects.
Generally they do that in order to find and interrogate/apprehend the person in question, not merely to stoke vigilantism and endanger said person.
Cops can engage in vigilante justice.
Haven't you ever seen Magnum Force?
And your local Sheriff's Department, hell. Half their job is to deal with people they already know are guilty.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEhjFKunNW0
That's the whole point. When they release a name, they expect the public to lead them to the perp/person of interest so that they can be the ones to administer the vigilantism.
Cops don't like competition.
*Haven't you ever seen Magnum Force?*
Yeahhhh, that wasn't a documentary.
They release the names of the people they arrest (but aren't yet convicted) to local media as a form of public embarrassment.
I don't know what to do anymore. There's a part of me that wants to say "fuck it" and just give up like Winston Smith at the end of 1984. It would be so much easier on my blood pressure.
Just lie back and think of Princess Twilight Sparkle.
She's into anal?
The US military called local law enforcement needs enemies to elbow or they get damn fuckin bored, bitches.
Couldn't let all that 9/11 money go to waste.
Gotta justify your budget somehow.

Lowery provided more details of the incident, saying that he was detained because the officers thought he wasn't exiting the store fast enough and because he was recording them.
It is not illegal to record police officers.
According to Matt Pearce, a reporter at the Los Angeles Times who is on the ground as well, the duo were released at the command of Ferguson police chief Tom Jackson.
The officers who arrested the reporters were "probably somebody who didn't know better," Jackson said, according to Swain.
They know the law isn't on their side, but they don't give a shit.
You can beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride.

The black folk are jsut showing their true colr, black. Always thinkin the white man owes them something lol.

Did American re-program anonbot or something?
First he went pedo, now he's gone racist. I don't think anonbot knows how this whole "advertising" thing works...
This is fun, like after the guy with the recorded phone message line got the free sample of the drink with the reprogramming drug at the Water Tower in Illuminatus!.
Wow. You made it that far? tried to read Illuminatus three times, and I never made it past the golden apple glory hole scene.
Did the store manager ask people to leave or what exactly was going on? Did the police order the store closed and under what authority?
I mean reporter's arrested is a lovely angle and all, but there were other people there who also presumably got thrown out, I'm just wondering what the deal was.
new balance outlet
new balance store
Hey, anyone around here know where I can get some Nike shoes, cheap Nike shoes? Rumor has it that I can get them at a New Balance outlet, or perhaps just at the regular New Balance store.
Annoying as the above kind of spamming is, and obviously nobody here would be stupid enough to click on those links (well, maybe Tony), it must be a proven method, because it persists yet. Further evidence as to how stupid Americans are.
Perhaps it's some sort of oblique racist commentary on looting.
Fuck you Fergueson cops! You made me be on the same side as InfoWars, god damn it!
