Obama on Border Crisis: "I'm Going to Have to Act Alone"

President Obama warned Friday that he will act on his own to address immigration challenges along the southern border.

President Obama warned Friday that he will act on his own to address immigration challenges along the southern border, as Congress prepared to leave for the August recess without sending a bill to his desk.

The House continues to work on passing some version of legislation to address the border crisis, but the Senate already has adjourned without passing a bill and has no votes scheduled until September.

"While they're out on vacation, I'm going to have to make some tough choices to meet the challenge, with or without Congress," Obama said Friday, speaking to reporters in the the White House briefing room.

He later added: "I'm going to have to act alone, because we don't have enough resources."

  1. “I’m going to have to act alone, because we don’t have enough resources.”

I, um, just, well.. What the hell does that mean?

  2. Oh, yes, the poor, poor man! Forced, I say FORCED to uh…
What a pathetic excuse for a president.

  3. Conniving sack of shit.

  4. This guy is certifiably insane.

    1. Certainly some people in the administration seem disconnected from reality. They really seem to have thought that using kids as the face of illegal immigration would swing public opinion their way. Turns out that the public is not thrilled to welcome tens of thousands poor kids, including some teen gangsters and carriers of various diseases. And there is now a report that extra custodial work is needed at the detention centers, because many of these people are “unfamiliar with bathrooms”(!).

So illegal immigration is now the #1 public policy concern, Obama’s ratings are down again, and the left wing of the Democratic party is basically inviting the rest of Central and South America to move here. And why not? They get better food, housing, and medical care than any homeless vet does.

And all in the run-up to the mid-terms. Brilliant. It seems to me that all any Republican has to do is say “Any vote for any Democrat is a vote for Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and an invitation to every poor person in the world to move here for welfare benefits.”

      1. Re: “Unfamiliar with bathrooms”

That’s right- in many South American countries, flushing toilet paper’s verboten because their plumbing’s crude.

I inadvertently learned of this a few years ago at work, after several ashen-faced employees took me aside to report that a maniac among us was leaving poop-smeared toilet paper in the bathroom’s waste can. Turns out it was our regular Ecuadorean delivery guy, who we allowed access to the bathroom.

      2. Call it the Democrat Jobs Plan: Outsourcing at Home.

I’ll send you a bill later, GOP.

    2. Forgot to say: I’m seeing anecdotal evidence of commenters on various blogs saying things like “My Dad is a life-long Democrat, and the border crisis has made him vow to vote Republican for the rest of his life.”

  5. You know who else acted alone…
